Rules: In a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or as you feel like).
Thank you so, so much to @cookiemonsterv3 for the tag!! I’ve always wanted to do one of these <3
I can’t spoil this one too much, but I will say it’s a codywanweek fic for the Day 4: Soulmate AU prompt (that I am desperately trying to finish even as it gets longer and longer, oops)
Fox raises an eyebrow at him. “Did you seriously stop wearing your kama because Obi-Wan said you have nice legs?” Cody’s ears burn. “That’s not—” “No, wait,” Fox interrupts, searching Cody’s face for something. He seems to find whatever it is he’s looking for, because his eyes light up with unrestrained manic glee. “It’s worse than that, isn’t it?” Cody prays for a quick death. Fox’s smile widens into something positively feral. “You want less layers between your legs and his when he pins you in a spar. Cody, you dog.” Scratch that. Cody will not beg for death. Not before he kills his ori’tat.

Ok, so I know that in some star wars fanfic that Commander Cody's "real" name is Kote, and I love that. But like how is it pronounced? I've only ever seen it written so I have no idea about the correct pronunciation.

hey so i just wanna let people know that in russian ‘kot’ means cat (male specifically) so basically whenever you refer to Commander Cody as ‘Kot’ika’ via the mando’a diminutive ‘-ika’ for small all my brain says is
‘these bitches really be calling their commander a little kitty cat huh’
anyway i find it fucking hilarious thanks for coming to my tedtalk

My two favourite HCs for how Kote becomes Cody that I use in my stories and bounce between…
1) Rex loses some teeth either in training or because he’s that age and can’t pronounce Kote with the lisp and everyone just jumps on that and it sticks but it was Rex’ika so Cody doesn’t mind.
2) Jango names him Kote out of love but when the Kaminoans realised Jango was too attached to the clones and reconned him, Cody was furious. As the weight of now being the eldest and having to look after his batch who are all also grieving losing their Buir piles up he just refuses to be that liars glory. He’s so betrayed because Buir said he loved them and nothing could stop that but the Kaminoans and Tyranus did and now he’s gone and Cody had to keep everyone on track.
Or 3) both. He doesn’t want to be Kote anymore and then Rex says Cody and that replaces it.

not tryna be rude here but you sure complain a lot about parts of the sw fandom that you could simply…blacklist. or not interact with
Heh, my last two posts were just me being in a bitchy mood after I tried getting back into sw fics after a while lol. I *don't* interact with fanon I dislike, hence the complaining on my own blog to vent xD
What annoys me more than the fanons themselves is the prevalence of those fanons in the fandom, to the point that it's frequent to get "corrected" when not using them. I can't very well blacklist 'Yan' Dooku or other extremely widespread non-canon stuff (that won't get tagged as non-canon) on Ao3, it's just something that'll pop up randomly in fics. The authors are welcome to like and use those ideas, I certainly won't comment on their fics to complain at them for not catering to my own tastes! But my blog's an exhaust port

Kote’s House
Kote’s first house is a pathetic thing, and he is incurably proud of it. The twi’lek he purchased it from very evidently could not make up his mind what to do with a man that grinned while he haggled, but it was the first time Kote had haggled over a purchase of his very own. He had thoroughly enjoyed it.
The house is built for one being, and a compact being at that, but Kote doesn’t have much. Moving in is quick, and most of his efforts during the next few days after go into attempting ambitious repairs for things he doesn’t know the first thing about.
His plumbing is an issue, he knows. Something is getting blocked up. Somehow while trying to fix the kitchen tumbler, his fresher spout explodes.
He hadn’t kept his new house a secret from anyone by any means, but it is still surprising when Fox barges in through his jamming front door. He finds Kote on the floor in his cramped kitchen while the fresher rains water in the adjacent room, laughing so hard and so crippled with delight that he can’t get up.
He tries to explain how wonderful it is —
“I-I have to fix my plumbing on my own, vod—”
—but judging by Fox’s single raised eyebrow he knows it doesn’t translate.
Fox, it turns out, is moving into the neighborhood. Kote doesn’t ask about the house Fox already has — the house he has visited, which is very nice and fancy — or point out that Fox’s contract there cannot possibly be up, which begs the question of why he’s here in Kote’s neighborhood — except that Kote already knows the answer to that question. So he doesn’t ask.
Fox doesn’t show him any grace or forbearance, though.
“Don’t even know how to fix a damn pipe, front lining show-off—” His brother snarls, but it is muffled; his top half had to go down beneath the floor they’d pried up to get at the plumbing issue.
“So that’s what they had you doing all these years.” Kote says, because he really is in a criminally good mood. He barely ducks the foot-long pipe Fox throws at his head, feeling giddy.
He makes dinner that night in thanks. Fox stays, ostensibly because now that he’s fixed the fresher he intends to use it, because his new house isn’t hooked up properly yet to all the supply lines and power grids.
They choke on homemade tiingilar (vode-style; Kote can’t pretend at the real thing yet) so heavily spiced it’s got grit to it that sticks between the teeth. It’s disgusting, but Cody had bought fifteen different spices and while usually he likes to keep his approach to the unknown more cautious, more methodical, he couldn’t think of anything he wanted to do more than use them all at once for the first time.
Wolffe joins them not long after; brings a few others along by recommending the apartment he picks out, so that soon most of the complex is taken up by vode, Kote hears, but he doesn’t visit yet. Everyone’s too busy coming over to his house, it seems; filling up his kitchen and asking why he hasn’t fixed the trash disposal yet, why he doesn’t have a couch, doesn’t he know they’re all the rage among civilized folk?
Kote fixes the trash disposal with Rex, who is better at it than he is but says it’s only due to Skywalker’s influence on managing all things mechanical.
“How is Skywalker?” Kote asks, and gets more than he bargained for over the next hour. At first he’s a bit off-put, because he’s trying to get dinner sorted again and he’s not been very fond of Skywalker at the best of times, but Rex is snorting out a story and laughing and it’s contagious, so Kote just resigns himself and settles in to enjoy.
Skywalker has little ones, now. Obi-Wan is the only one that can get them to sleep. Ahsoka is distressed; she knows better, but every instinct in her is apparently in agony over the little ones’ inability to eat meat yet. She obsesses over nutrients in their diet — which, given what tiny natborn humans primarily ingest in the early stages, makes for some slightly awkward conversations.
Rex helps with dinner afterward, and they take turns being incredulous over natborn baby facts, shoving around one another in the tiny, uncomfortable kitchen.
“What’s your next project?” Rex asks at one point, glancing sidelong with a cheeky look, and Kote levels his vegetable knife at him (he’s got a vegetable knife. Specifically for vegetables. It’s a very new concept).
“I make everyone’s dinner on Tuangsdays.” He says. “I’m productive.”
Rex’s sharp-toothed grin turns thoughtful. “Yeah” He says. “Everyone loves coming here, you know. You could be the new 79’s.”
Kote knows. He plans and plots, and puts more work into researching recipes than he’s put into any research whatsoever in months. It feels a bit like coming out of a shore leave; his thoughts quicken and his excitement grows. He hunts down a market. He brings a bag. He shops, bargains, and returns victorious.
He sends out a few comms., and can’t help but shake his head and grin at how different the responses are.
What a marvelous idea, Cody. His general — ex-general — says.
Yus pls, Ahsoka sends back, with some sort of strange tooka vidclip that dances with wiggly gyrations Kote can only assume indicate excitement.
Where is your house, Anakin says, blunt and to the point, and Kote can appreciate that.
He sends the address. He cooks all day. The sun sets, and Fox and Wolffe arrive, already bickering, Rex trailing behind with a long-suffering look sent to Kote, begging commiseration.
“Ugh, don’t you ever stop smiling, now?” He gripes when Kote just grins at him.
“Nope,” Kote says, unrepentantly.
He leaves the soup on the stove, simmering, and takes his cup of caf to the window. He leans on it, breathing in cool air, and just listens — listens to the squabbling as Wolffe gets on Fox’s case for not washing Kote’s dishes correctly the last time they visited. Hears the soft thumps of Rex sneaking into the cramped room Kote has set aside for plants and the sole pet he has; a pastel goullian, fins swaying ever so gently, permanent scowl in place. Thinks he catches, distantly, the sound of his remaining three guests (Padme couldn’t attend, and had made him feel very awkward by how thoughtfully she apologized for it) plodding up the hill.
“Cody!” Ahsoka cries, coming into view and waving.
Kote’s cheeks have stopped aching from all the smiling he’s gotten used to, so it’s easy to let another through.

Commander Cody finds himself in a galaxy that is not his own.
(Okay I had to repost this because my dumb butt deleted the original 🥲. If people don’t mind reblogging this post again I would really appreciate it.)
Ficlet under the cut.
The moment he had realized this wasn’t his galaxy, his dimension, Cody knew this meeting was inevitable. He’d hoped to avoid it, but that feeling in his gut always loved to prove him otherwise.
Standing before him was his face. And no, not the face of a brother. This wasn’t just one of the millions he had grown up with.
This was him. He could feel it.
An alternate version of him, with colder eyes and harder expression. But still, he was Cody. Or rather, he was Kote.
Cody swallowed down a dry lump in his throat, not allowing his own gaze to falter under Kote’s scrutiny. “Please,” he started, hoping that his voice didn’t waver. “I’m not supposed to be here. The Jedi… Our brothers are in danger.”
“Your brothers,” Kote shot back, eyes narrowed. The way he spoke the words sent a chill down Cody’s spine, as though being a Vod was something beneath him. “Why should I care what happens to them?”
Cody’s thoughts froze for half a second, then he blinked hard and shook his head to push pass the shock. Never in a millions years would he dream of hearing a clone say anything along those words, much less from himself.
But this was a version of him. This was Kote Fett, and he was obviously raised under the guidance and views of the Prime. Cody briefly wondered if Boba existed in this dimension before forcing his thoughts back on track. He needed to convince Mand’alor Kote, somehow.
“Look,” he half whispered. “You don’t have to help me. I can find my own way back. You’ll never have to see me again.”
Kote slightly tilted his head, and with it, Cody felt a sharp spike of heat in his head. He gasped and dug his nails into his palms, strengthening his mental shields at the same time as throwing back a spike of his own, causing Kote to stagger one step back.
“Kote,” Prime chided from the side wall, unmoving. It was short and clipped, but his tone carried a low warning with it.
Cody bit back a groan, the sudden headache making him lose focus for a moment. He breathed roughly past the mental pain, instead concentrating on the feel of the cuffs holding his arms up, digging into the skin of his wrists. It was something physical. He could deal with physical.
Kote let out a grunt in acknowledgment, making a quick cut sign with his free hand, the other holding his helmet. He gazed back at Cody, a glint of intrigue now in his eyes. “Huh,” he breathed out.
Cody stared right back, blocking out whatever feelings were suddenly directed at him. “Just… just let me go.”
Kote’s brow furrowed, just enough for Cody to notice. He stepped closer, until they were less then an arm’s length away, face-to-face. His eyes rove over Cody’s face, and Cody could feel him prodding at his shields for a weak point. Cody built up another layer, shutting Kote out.
The Mand’alor blinked, a flash of surprise there and gone. His eyes suddenly grew cold. He spoke, and his voice was barely above a whisper. “Now why would I do that?”

He remembers the day he was first called Kote.
The pride had swelled in his chest so much he smiled, a real smile as vod alike hugged him after they were allowed to rest after a brutal day of training. Sure, his nose was broken and still bloodied, but the adrenaline of being named was enough to drown out the pain as he and his brothers celebrated with stolen rations and a drink of unspoken origin.
Kote remembers the day his name changes to Cody, hidden under the title of Commander as the war begins.
He's not sure why it has to change, but figures the Jetti they now finally serve don't understand the name. The one called Kenobi hadn't had trouble with it after he had chased Jango and his kih'vod off and away from Komino, but the longnecks say he is Cody, so now he is. Commander Cody's reputation spreads from the beginning of the war with both how quickly he takes to leadership and with the particular Jetti he serves, his yellow armor a beacon for most when he and the 212th charge across the battlefield. He's the first of 4 to be promoted to Marshal Commander, Cody grinning underneath his bucket at the cheers from his men, and the joy radiating from his General as he pins the commendation on his armor.
Cody remembers the day Obi-Wan said his name softly, walking beside the commander toward whatever they had been doing.
They never did make it to their final destination, instead, Cody nearly kicks down the door to an empty room and drags the Jetti inside. Lips meet before their brains catch up, and that damn cloak he's always dropping on the battlefield is now in the way as he aches to hold Obi-Wan close. He can't remember when he started wanting Obi-Wan, the man who understood his normally neutral mannerisms without the need to ask, and completed him in a way he never knew he was incomplete. Cody could melt when Obi-Wan cups his face, saying something but going unheard as he drank in those dazzling eyes and reddened cheeks, smiling for the first time in a long while. He's never been a selfish man, but Cody can't help but think that Obi-Wan is the first thing he's ever wanted for his own, and hopes that it will be easy to make this clear. Of course, Cody doesn't have to try, Obi-Wan always knows, calling him dear and darling after they eventually leave their little spot away from the world.
Cody remembers the first day he was just Cody to those he loves, Commander by day to clean up the corruption and devastation from a war finally ended.
It was a long process, just because the Sith behind it all was gone did not mean his collaborators were just going to stop, but it was fulfilling. Clankers were cut down with ease now they didn't have the drop on the clone troopers, and the rapidly dwindling numbers meant more time away from the front lines. More time to see worlds he had only seen in snippets or brief times on the surface, time to see survivors they'd help save, time to sit in the Temple on Coruscant and listen to Obi-Wan be a leading force towards a better Republic. Cody still finds it strange that most natborns were less hostile as the days pressed on, and sometimes sits with Fox to wonder if the Sith could control so many people on the neverending planet, to which they both shrug and agree that the Force was too weird to try and figure out.
Cody remembers the first time little Luke and Leia called him Ori'vod Kote, the little tubies scooped up into his arms with matching giggles.
Kote enjoys living on Naboo whenever he can drag Obi-Wan away from his work, chuckling when Luke usually traces his many scars while Leia asks for stories with an intense look on her face. He wonders how quickly a tubie can become a Senator, a question that causes Padme to launch into laughter and Skywalker to cover his face with his hands, which in turn makes their children laugh. Kote sometimes thinks of having his own tubies when he and Obi-Wan leave the planet after their visits but knows that their work needs to be finished before that can be allowed, as none of his will live in such a dangerous universe. Still, his (slightly still dangerous) life that Kote has is as perfect as it can be for now, and that's all he really needs.
---------
Happy 2/2/24 day to my favorite Marshal Commander!

This started as the seed of a different idea, but it fit so well into this beginning that it was like they were made to go together.
Just before the intel starts arriving that would lead to the Rako Hardeen mess, the Force gets a warning to the Jedi. This warning, once translated, is very clear. Obi Wan Kenobi needs to be out of communication for a while (can’t be sent on a mission whose real purpose is to fracture the relationship between Obi Wan and Anakin, if Obi Wan is not there…).
So Obi Wan and Cody get sent undercover to infiltrate some criminal enterprise whose main base is on Endor (while they are undercover the 212th will be on leave-part of an initiative to prove that the clones are not actually being abused).  Their cover is married mandalorian bounty hunters, thus their faces can be covered. The mission is that they will arrive on Endor, find a place to live, and start taking bounties that would make them highly visible to the criminal enterprise. It is anticipated that this mission will be at least 4 weeks, and there cannot be any contact (Because this is not faking Obi Wan’s death, Anakin is warned the Obi Wan will be out of communication for a while, though he is still given no details) throughout this time.
It all goes well at first, then three days in (due to Force shenanigans, and a Force artifact that was disguised as an antique) both Obi Wan and Cody wake up with no memories. They were just far enough into their mission to have found a place to live and all of their idents and paperwork is in the names of Ben and Kote Beroya, married bounty hunters. Ben (Obi Wan) is just aware enough of the Force to know that they both need to keep their armor on while they are not alone.  Not knowing about their other mission, they find a decent bounty, complete it, and leave the planet.
Meanwhile on Coruscant Palpatine tries to go forward with the Rako Hardeen plan, in spite of his main goal (which requires Obi Wan Kenobi) being impossible.  Without the additional emotional damage to Anakin Skyalker to distract everyone, Palpatine is found out.  The high council, barring Obi Wan but with Anakin, goes to confront Palpatine.
It is the middle of an emergency senate session.
Palpatine activates Order 66(galaxy wide it should be noted) … for about 45 seconds before a Force fueled panic attack from Anakin disables all of the chips at once (also galaxy wide-incidentally giving Kote Beroya a headache from half a galaxy away).  Palpatine was planning on relying on the controlled clones and might have considered going quietly (with an idea to salvage the 1000 year plan) with the realization that the clones were now free. It was all a moot point, since moments after the clones (now very confused and more than a little horrified themselves with their new knowledge) were freed, Palpatine is fatally shot by Bail Organa (Bail has been up for five days working on a draft of the clone rights bills. He is tired, cranky, and pissed that this meeting cut into his scheduled Comm call with Breha).
In the aftermath it is found that Palpatine used Dark Side Magic to partially (at varying degrees) control a number of people in the Senate. This includes Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala. In this one Palpatine’s control is what caused Anakin to slaughter the Tuskens.  Anakin is not the only one who needed specialized Jedi therapy (meant to deal with the topic of ‘so the Darkside fucked with your head/possessed you’). It very quickly became the most common type of therapy in the Senate
Palpatine also forced the relationship between Padme and Anakin. There was attraction there, and it was possible that the attraction would have grown into something more but their entire relationship was hijacked by Palpatine (Padme alone had been mostly controlled since she was 14 and needed to go through 4 Jedi exorcisms). More horrifyingly Palpatine used more Sith Magic to put Padme’s womb into stasis, which was currently occupied by fraternal twins, held at the three week marker (so that he could make her ‘become pregnant’ when he was ready to start his end game) that were biologically Anakin’s and Padme’s, though after the Sith magic controlling them was removed, neither remember having sex.
Everyone involved is utterly horrified. It seemed impossible to conceptualize the level of violation on all parties.  The Jedi Order eventually bought an incubation tube from the Kaminoans and, with Padme’s grateful permission (who had been a bit conflicted, she truly did not want to be pregnant- especially in these circumstances- but did not personally feel comfortable with getting an abortion), moved the twins there for the duration.  The Twins would then become part of the Order and both Padme and Anakin would be allowed to decide how much the children would be told.
At this point Anakin requested that his Master be brought back from his mission. Anakin really needed Obi Wan, and a couple of dozen hugs.  The clones are doing their part cuddling their general and Ahsoka is trying too, but sometimes you just need your dad/older brother figure to tell you everything is alright. Especially when everything is fucked up.
The Jedi Council agree and reach out to the secret Comm to contact Obi Wan and recall them (theoretically the whole operation became moot after the Chancellor's death). There’s no answer (as it was a hidden, secret comm neither Ben nor Kote knew to bring it along). The council looks at each other. They try again. Still no answer.  They manage to get in contact with the landlord of the place that was rented to Ben and Kote, who goes ‘Oh those guys. Good tenets, quiet. They left six weeks ago (two weeks into their mission). Think they said they were heading toward Corellia.’
Now the Jedi council are wondering just what happened that sent Obi Wan and his commander to Corellia and why they didn’t get in contact about the change. It is decided that this was a good mission for Anakin to go on, as it would help distract him, leading both the 501st and the 212th.
So now Anakin is on the galaxy’s biggest scavenger hunt, being evaded by two bounty hunters that do not know they are being hunted.
Back with Ben and Kote, they have been taking bounties and slowly learning about themselves and each other throughout (and what married means to them). They realized quickly that they had some specific standards (they DO NOT kill kids or innocents, but Kote has found that he takes a particular glee in bringing betrayers in and Ben has a hatred for anyone who would hurt kids). They have also found that Ben had a tendency to draw the attention of slavers, without fail. They had shut down an even dozen slavery rings in the middle rim.   Because they are always wearing a helmet, except for around each other, they have not realized that their faces are really famous.   They have also realized in that time that Kote is a hand to hand fighter and Ben can do some really weird things (lifting things with his mind) when he concentrates.
It takes another few months before they start to hear that Galactic General Anakin Skywalker is apparently asking for them by name. Rather desperately, at times almost violently. Ben’s instincts (supplemented by the Force) says that General Skywalker does not mean any harm. Both of them, in a fit of whimsy, decide to lead the General on a merry chase across the galaxy (incidentally giving Anakin more time to not focus on the body horror of…well everything to do with Palpatine or Padme).
During this time the Galactic War ends.
The chase eventually ends because Ben and Kote encounter another member of the Beroya clan (Obi Wan had been legitimately inducted into the clan when he protected Satine as a teen), who they are around long enough to take their helmets off around them.
This being blinks twice and basically says holy fuck you are a famous republic general and his commander, you have been missing for months. Ben and Kote blink at each other, shrug and go ‘that explains Skywalker stalking us’ and admit their amnesia to the being.
Anakin is greatly surprised that the next time his fleet comes out of hyperspace he is greeted by his former master, in armor, asking what took him so long.
For a moment Anakin considered Falling right then and there.
Then he considered it again when he met up with Ben and Kote and realized they had no memories.
How the fuck was he going to explain this to anyone…

Commander Cody being named 'Cody' not because he wanted a #normal name but because he's a fucking nerd and he likes coding (so, 'Code-y' -> Cody pipeline) is a criminally underrated take if you ask me. like, yeah Kote in Mando'a is glory and that's beautiful and meaningful and I'm the last person to deny that Cody is destined for greatness but the dude is also a total nerd and it would be really funny if that was the actual origin of his name

Kote-Ah Kenobi is the son of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Clone Commander Cody.
This is from my Alternate Universe called the ‘Kenobi Family AU’, which I’ll explain now (warning: plot dump):
During the Clone Wars Cody and Obi-Wan start to get close
First it starts as them starting to admire and trust each other in battle and appreciate the other’s leadership skills, etc.
Then it turns into a good friendship and camaraderie, they talk openly with each other on and off the battle field. They feel comfortable enough to snark and joke with eachother
They more and more seek comfort in each other outside of work and battle
Soon their friendship turns into more, emotionally
This leads to both of them hiding complicated romantic feeling for each other
Obi-Wan has strick moral codes with being a Jedi and having no deep attachments, he desperately wants to be a good Jedi and leader. But he can’t help but love Cody
Cody deals with the social pressures of being a clone. Clones aren’t supposed to have deep emotions, to want things, to have personalities. He’s not aloud to feel anyway for anyone, let alone his General. He’s not considered a person to many, just a tool
(Skipping over much time and details) Eventually they confess to each other
They come to a sort of agreement, they care too much about each other to not be together, but they both have duties to others and agree to always put their jobs first
So they are in a secret relationship with the war as priority
But they both discuss getting ‘fully’ together after the war
Cody talks about fighting for freedom for the clones and getting to choose what they want (he wouldn’t have thought of this before getting with Obi-Wan, he didn’t even consider it a possibility for him or his brothers. But getting the chance to CHOOSE to be with Obi-Wan despite what the war demands gives Cody determination to give all clones a chance to choose what they want)
Obi-Wan wants to be with Cody, he says he’ll help Cody and his brothers in any way to get freedom. He starts to think how maybe Anakin is right about the Jedi rule against attachment being wrong (this may be a lil’ OCC for Obi-Wan but I like to think him loving Cody would make him reevaluate his morals and the Jedi rules)
(Obi-Wan even considers maybe leaving the order after the war to be with Cody, it isn’t the first time he thought about it or even actually left the order after all)
But alas, none of it is to be. Order 66 still happens
It plays out just like canon, and the clone chips are activated and Cody shoots Obi-Wan off the cliff and Obi-Wan flees
(This is where the BIG changes happen)
When Obi-Wan goes with Yoda to the Jedi Temple and sees the dead Younglings, they find Reva Sevander alive and rescue her
Yoda watches her while Obi-Wan confronts and fights Anakin
Afterwards Padmé still dies giving birth
This time though, Obi-Wan looks at Luke, Leia and Reva and just thinks ‘yeahs I’m taking all these kids’
He pretty much decides that since all three of these kids are force sensitive that they’ll need protection and training, he can hide them
Plus his time with Cody taught him the importance of bonds. he regrets telling Anakin to not have attachments and making him feel like he had to hide his and Padmé’s relationship. Maybe if Obi-Wan had been better about talking to Anakin, Anakin wouldn’t have been so afraid to lose Padmé and therefore turn Dark
So Obi-Wan ignores Yoda’s demands to spilt all the children up and just takes them all to a remote planet to raise them
(Reva takes Obi-Wan’s last name since he needs to present her as his adopted child and he lets Luke and Leia have their father’s last name (Skywalker) as memory to the man Anakin used to be (he tells everyone that Leia and Luke are the children of his brother))
Only a little time after settling on their new home and trying to raise two infants and handle a traumatized force sensitive child, Obi-Wan finds out he’s going to have Cody and his child (unplanned)
(It’s up to you to decide how they have a child idk, force magic or weird alien biology who cares)
So 9 months later Obi-Wan now has ANOTHER child (Kote-Ah), this one from his lover who turned on him and who he doesn’t even know if he’s alive (I can’t decide if Obi-Wan DOESN’T know about the chips in the clones and thinks Cody legitimately betrayed him, or if he DOES know about the chips and is just wallowing in the knowledge that Cody and all the clones have had their agency taken away and will be forced to work for the Empire or be killed)
(Either way he can’t risk finding Cody, he has to protect his kids)
Thus Obi-Wan Kenobi ends up with four kids (all who are force sensitive) (in hiding where he’s a wanted man and force sensitive children are killed on sight) (and Kote-Ah looks exactly like a clone so people are quite suspicious when they see him, and even more so when they notice how young he is and how his eyes aren’t amber/brown like all clones)
The AU from here is just Obi-Wan raising Reva, Luke, Leia, and Kote-Ah in secret
Obi-Wan continues Reva’s training and takes her as his Padawan when she’s of age, though it’s not a ‘formal padawan and master’ training because at that point Reva considers Obi-Wan her guardian/parental figure (not quite a father (Kote-Ah, Luke, and Leia call Obi-Wan ‘Dad’), but she does loves and treat him in a similar way to a child and parent)
When Leia, Luke, and Kote-Ah all get old enough he starts to train them, they need to be prepared for if (when) the Empire finds them
That’s the AU for now, there’s more from here but I already wrote a lot! I’ll probably do some more drawing one day and get into Kote-Ah’s personality and the family relationship of the ‘Kenobi Family’ and the plot from here on out.
Extras:
Reva helped a lot with raising the three younger kids
Having them around helped with her anger and trauma of seeing her crechemates killed (she holds no resentment towards Luke and Leia for being the children of the man who killed her crechemates)
Though this makes her very overprotective of Leia, Luke, and Kote-Ah
She’s desperate not to lose her new family
She’s always very mature for her age
All the siblings are very close, but Luke and Leia get along the best and Reva and Kote-Ah are also really close
They all are very close to Obi-Wan, who is very open and affectionate with them due to his regrets of not being as open and loving with Anakin (and his regrets that he never got to have an open and ‘true’ relationship with Cody before everything ended)
Obi-Wan tells many stories of Cody and the clones to Kote-Ah. Obi-Wan wants Kote-Ah to know about his other father and his family. Wants Kote-Ah to feel pride from his ‘heritage’ and not feel ashamed for looking like a clone
In this AU all four of the kids are trained in the Jedi ways and to fight, though way into the future only Reva and Luke take on the formal title of Jedi, Leia and Kote-Ah do not.

* Rex and Cody are the same age according to info released on the characters. In TBB, Omega even notes Rex is first gen. So everything depicting Rex looking significantly younger than Cody is fanon.
** Jon Antilles, Feemor, various clones, etc. that showed up once. Quite a few of them are basically OCs with preset looks and names.
Important Note: I'm only allowed 10 options, I couldn't include all fanon. (Like I couldn't get into all the Mandalorian culture fanon, Montross being a traitor all along, Jedi Healer Bant, etc.)
Also I am not trying to make a positive or negative remark on fanon. Like, Rex being Cody's little brother probably the most universally popular and beloved fanon. Yan Dooku and Cody = Kote are fun. Various writers and readers enjoy all the angst, H/C, and whump that come from woobie-wan or Coruscant Guard whump. I just want to know what's fanon you enjoy most.

Happy Cody Day! Have Some Fic Recs
I wasn't able to finish writing anything for the 2-2-24 cause, so it seems like the least I could do was throw some recommendations for a few of my favorite Cody-centric fics into the ring to help celebrate. Enjoy!
Gen:
And Your People Shall Never Be Destroyed (complete) by independent_variables
Summary: A-017 turned and regarded him silently for a long moment. “You ask a lot of questions, Kote.”
“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?”
“Is it really as simple as being one or the other?”
Kote bit his tongue.
‘17’s expression tightened, and he stepped forward to grip Kote’s shoulder.
“One day you’re going to ask a question you don’t like the answer to,” he said, eyes bright and burning. “And that’s when you’ll have to decide: is this a good thing, or a bad thing?”
My Comments: Features a whole slew of precocious CC cadets dealing with the horror show that is Kamino, but Cody is the POV character for the first, longest fic in this multi-story series. Heartbreaking with a happy, hopeful ending.
First Choice (complete) by smilebackwards
Summary: The clones get to choose their Jedi generals.
My Comments: This series has three fics in it, and while the first one is Obi-Wan-centric, the next two are from Cody's POV. The first two are a bit more serious in tone, while the last one is basically Cody's brothers relentlessly trolling him.
Shippy Fics (nothing explicit, because those fics are between me, God, and probably some overworked Ao3 website volunteers):
Our Own Choices (WIP Cody/Obi Wan) by heartofroses112
Summary: CC-2224 made the choice. Cody had to live with it. The Commander... well, he was prepared to burn the galaxy down as penance.
Or, Cody decides to leave the Empire, but that doesn't stop his past decisions from haunting him. In the midst of trying to repent for the crimes he 'willingly' committed, Cody may very well start a rebellion against the Empire while he's at it.
My Comments: Can it really be called shippy if we're 88 chapters in and the tagged pairing hasn't actually laid eyes on one another? Anyway, Codywan is pretty clearly endgame, if that either is or distinctly is not your thing. I'm mostly here for my catnip, which is the post-Clone Wars clone rebellion angle.
Our Caches and Constellations (complete Cody/Obi-Wan) by johanneb
Summary: Eleven years ago, the Jedi order got wind of the closing pincers of a Sith trap and scattered to the remote corners of the galaxy. Ten years ago, millions of clone commanders and troopers were introduced as the Republic’s new Army, made for fighting a war alongside people the galaxy seemed to be forgetting ever existed. Nine months ago, Commander Cody decided he was no longer going to risk his men's lives for the whims of clueless generals. Now, his decision to save a boy and a man in the desert, and the plan he comes up with to get away with it, will change the galaxy.
My Comments: Cody quiet quits the Empire as a prelude to loudly quitting the Empire, which is a lot easier in an AU where all space flight and communications technology is steampunk-y and fairly slow. Very creative world building.
100% open to receiving some recs too. I know both shippy recs were Codywan, but I'm not actually all that attached to that ship over any other. Happy @codyday2224 everyone!

“Shiny”
Summary: After a few complains from worried troopers your master ordered armor for the 2 of you. And now some boy were excited to help you customize!
Paring: Cody+212th x Reader (guess what?!? Plaaaaaaaaatonic!!! WOO)
Warning: None! Just teeth rotting fluff!
Word Count: 1375
Read here on ao3! (✩)
Tumblr media
You wouldn’t say your reckless on the battlefield, nor was your master Obi-Wan Kenobi. It just seemed when it came down to it all you were shot at a lot.
Like all the time.
So after a few bullets caught in the ribs or the arms here and there worried some troopers of the well being of their beloved Commander and General.
*Cough cough Cody cough*
Your comm buzzed as you made your way to the training rooms to meet your master, it was odd though because you were supposed to meet with Obi-wan later for your scheduled training.
“Hello master. Cody” You waved to them both already eyeing the boxes that layer by their feet. “What’s this? I though training wasn’t until 01600.” You stopped in front of the two.
Obi-wan let out a laugh and then explained. “We finally got our shipment in, apparently the GAR thought it be a good idea for some armor for the two of us Y/N” He with the help of Cody opened the two packages. “Even if it’s minimal it’s still better then none.”
“You can say that again.” Cody said under his breath.
“Aww Cod’ika gets nervous when we’re shot at.” You joked bumping arms with him.
Obi-wan passed you a breast plate with shoulder coverage as well, some arm and hand braces were included. He himself also had a set similar.
Your mouth hung open as you ran a hand over the white plaster. All the possibilities running through your head.
The awe clearly showed on your face and for the second time your master laughed. “Please go enjoy decorating it Y/N it’s lovely to see you this happy.” Obi-wan placed a hand on your shoulder
You bowed slightly trying not to drop everything you had in your hands and smiled at Cody hoping he would follow you.
“Everyone is quite excited to help with the painting.” Cody strolled next to you. “It’ll be good to touch up our own armor as well.”
You laughed as you started to run a little faster down the hall, making Cody try to keep up with you.
“Slow down there Shiny before you drop something.”
You turned to look at him. “Oh no don’t you start that-“
Cody’s cheerful laugh cut through your sentence. “Sorry sir buts it’s the perfect opportunity.”
You rolled your eyes as the pair of you turned down one more corridor and were finally met with the doors to the 212th barracks.
“Hey commander.” You herd Boil as he started to lay some tarps around the floor of the conman room.
You saw Trapper watching from a perch on one of the couches “We don’t want anything getting ruined now do we.”
Boil and Crys joined the commotion in the room arguing quite loudly as they fought over what seemed to be a can of paint.
“No no the shades all wrong! It’s brighter than that.”
“Are you color blind or something Vod? Maybe got hit one too many times?”
You laughed at the too rolling your eyes simultaneously with Cody.
You finally dropped all the fresh armor on the trap after Waxer finally got it nice and smooth.
Wooley, Longshot, and Gearshift all stumbled into the room, arms filled with piles of armor. Some were definitely in better shape than others.
You flashed them an excited smile with everyone joining you around the pot of orange paint that was so special to the entire battalion.
Peel finally joined the group with extra colors such as red, white, and black.
“Now let’s get started.” Cody clapped and everyone dug through the pile to find their own individual armor.
You grabbed the center piece and started at it for a moment. Carefully you reached for a paintbrush, chatter from your brothers around the room filled your ears.
“You know cyare if you wanted I could help you make your own sun design and then we could match.” Cody suggest grabbing a paint brush of his own.
“I love that idea Kotes!” You smiled back finally getting brave enough to dip your brush into the orange paint.
Waxed and Boil chimed in. “Could we do a form arm brace if the commanders getting the chest plate?”
“Of course, and if anyone else wants to do the other feel free.” You added. The brush touched down on the white, you mapped out half a circle at the cut off that would be right about your belly button.
One more stroke, then another. “Kriff.” You swore quickly, a rouge line got away from you.
“Woah there shiny need some help.” Waxer leaned over your shoulder.
“Really everyone’s doing that now?” You asked in question of the nickname.
“Why wouldn’t we?” Waxer questioned again now bending down, grabbing your paint brush to assist you.
You watched him for a moment before he went back to work on the other part of the set with Boil again.
About a quarter inch above the half circle you made another think line, making a ring.
Cody joined now in the painting of the rays that matched his own sunshine. At one point even Wooley joined trying to speed up the process.
You looked up to see that Waxer and Boil now finished their respective brace, it was in the geometric points that adorned the patterns of their own armor.
The other brace was being occupied by Gearshift who was painting a small ring of yellow that would circle the area where you could put your comm.
The armor was coming together now, every seemed to be just finished up their touch-ups when you announced ‘done’ very proudly.
“Wow it’s looking good commander.” Trapper smiled.
“Yea not bad for your first time Shiny.” Crys laughed with his brother.
“Now how longs that gonna last? Hmm?” You questioned leaning back into Cody as the armor had to dry.
“At least until the first campaign you wear it in.” Cody explain. “Until then your the teams new Shiny.”
The woosh of mechanical doors made everyone freeze. “Huh it seems the council meeting made me miss all the fun.” Obi-wan came to sit down beside you a Cody, resting a hand on the other man’s thigh.
Chatter filled the air once again as the group waited for the paint to finish drying on all of them.
After some time passed your master said. “Well now Y/N I hope you plan on trying it on for us.”
You couldn’t agree more, just up from your spot of the floor you rushed to the newly dried armor and slipped the first piece over your head. The clasp in the front was definitely easier than the ones in the back, thankfully Longshot was there to click them in for you.
The left shoulder covering was designed with the Jedi Order symbol in red matching the one your master also had. The other was the same stark white that you started with.
You slipped on the arm and fore arm piece each side coming together nicely.
Some cheers went up around the room as you spun round for them all to see.
“Now where’s the lightsaber holder on that one?” Cody quipped.
Obi-wan leaned into him to try and suppress his laughter.
The armor felt right, how you fought so many battles before without it was insane.
“Oh one more thing.” You added before you forgot, unhooking the front chest piece you laid it in the middle of the room. “Everyone needs to sign it.” You pointed to the empty backside still without marking.
Obi-wan and Cody were the first the sign. The Boil, followed by Waxer in what could be argued as an obnoxiously large font.
Soon everyone finished there signature, some neater than others but it was the different personality’s they all had that really blew you away. No it was just to get the other troopers that weren’t here to sign it as well.
“It looks pretty good for a shiny.” Cody came up to you as you clicked the armor back into place, he did the same with his own.
The two of you stood side by side, the painted suns never seemed brighter

Valentine's Day Sneak Peek
I've actually made really decent progress on the werewolf au the past few days, and while I'm not going to make any promises about when the next chapter is coming, hopefully it's pretty soon!
Anyway, here's a snippet of the chapter as a reward for your patience:
---
As the full moon neared, Cody grew more and more agitated.  He was quieter, but Obi-Wan could see the tension in his shoulders, the way his eyes darted back and forth in search of threats, the way his hands had to be touching Obi-Wan or his breath would catch in his throat, panic lighting up his face.
Sex was one of the only things that could get him to relax for more than a minute or two, and his sex drive had started to rival Obi-Wan’s earlier in his pregnancy.  Not that Obi-Wan minded, he’d never been more sexually gratified in his life.  He just wished it didn’t have to be attached to something that brought Cody so much anxiety.
Despite Obi-Wan’s assurances that the wolf didn’t scare him, assurances which he wholeheartedly meant, he was worried about how the full moon would be for Cody.  The man was barely eating, constantly on edge, and though he didn’t say anything, Obi-Wan knew he was in some amount of physical discomfort.  Waking up seemed harder, and Obi-Wan had caught Cody wincing one too many times to brush it off.
If he didn’t know any better, Obi-Wan would have thought Cody was teething, and maybe he was, in a way.  In addition to his need to constantly touch Obi-Wan, his teeth were almost constantly nibbling on some part of him.
Currently, it was his shoulder as they came down from their most recent bout of lovemaking.  Obi-Wan brushed his fingers through Cody’s short hair, his other hand gently rubbing Cody’s neck and shoulders in an attempt to ease some of his discomfort.
“Cody?”
Cody grunted, his mouth still intently working at the skin above his collarbone.
“Will you tell me what will happen on the full moon?”
Cody stilled, unmoving.  “You already know what’s going to happen.”
“Generally, yes,” Obi-Wan agreed.  “But what do you do while you’re out there?”
“I don’t really want to talk about it, Obi-Wan, maybe after-”
“I know,” Obi-Wan interrupted.  And truly, he didn’t want to push Cody about the topic when he was already so on edge.  “But I think if I don’t know, I’ll be up all night worrying.”
“You’ve seen it before,” Cody grumbled petulantly, rolling onto his side and pulling Obi-Wan closer.
“Yes, but I was exhausted and convinced I was having some sort of hallucination to ease me into my death,” Obi-Wan said wryly.  “I didn’t know you then.”
Cody sighed heavily.  “I won’t be in any danger.  We just hunt.”
Obi-Wan blinked, mildly surprised.  “Really?”
“You expected worse, didn’t you?” Cody asked, amusement coloring the weariness in his voice.
“Only because you hate talking about it so much.”
“That’s not the part that I don’t like,” Cody said.  “I hate the feeling of not being in control.  Kote just does whatever he wants to, and I can’t stop him.”
“Seems like all he wants to do is hunt,” Obi-Wan pointed out.
“Most of the time,” Cody nodded.  “Did I tell you he tried to find you?”
“I think he did find me.”
“No, before that.  Right after the first time we met.”
Obi-Wan leaned back slightly so he could see Cody’s face.  “Really?”
Cody nodded.  “He tried to track you down.  I tried so hard to pull him back, to convince him he didn’t need to do that, but he didn’t listen.  He never listens when he’s the one in control.  My brothers had to spend the whole night herding him back into our territory.”
Obi-Wan tucked his face back against Cody’s bare chest, relieved he had brothers who cared about him to help him through the night.  “Well, now I’m here.  You have no reason to leave the territory.”
“Yeah.”
“That seems scary, though, not being able to control your own body,” Obi-Wan sympathized.
“It was.  It is.”
“Do you think Kote feels the same way during the rest of the month?” Obi-Wan couldn’t help asking.
Cody stiffened.  “Not a good time for this, Obi-Wan,” he warned through gritted teeth.
“Okay,” Obi-Wan accepted with a flash of guilt.  “I’m sorry.”
Cody just sighed again, pressing a long kiss to Obi-Wan’s hair.  “I’m glad you’re here,” he said after a while.
“So am I.”
