Also I got bit by the YuTen bug while working on delicate and ended up writing a companion fic centered on them for the main story, and I regret absolutely nothing.

She had always been a good, well-behaved princess, a perfect lady; not once had she ever behaved recklessly.

So the knowledge that one of the most shameless known rakes would make his debut in the polite circles of Ba Sing Se society easily attracted her interest.

Because with a reputation as scandalous as Prince Lu Ten’s, how could they expect her to not be curious?

Hey everyone! Soooo have a confession to make. I am really freaking slow when it comes to writing about... Anything for the first when it comes to fanfics of a specific ATLA fic! Lol. I just love the idea of them learning to dance together and being so very cute and awkward about it at first 🥺💕.

Brief backstory:

Although they were busy preparing for the war, they still needed time to have fun and de-stress so a small feast with music and dancing seemed like a good idea. Zuko and Katara were pushed to spend time together by the rest of the Gaang because they've had enough of the weird distance between the two, brought by brewing feelings that both weren't sure about acknowledging yet. At this point, they've already resolved most of their issues and were on track to becoming really good friends until the 'complication' happened.

Feelings can be ass sometimes fr.

Somehow, what started as a one time, peer pressured, clumsy bonding attempt between two hyperaware-of-each-other teenagers ended up lasting longer than expected. Excuses would be made to continue dancing together because once the initial awkwardness has passed, they found that it was actually quite relaxing (especially for two usually hot headed people) just going through the motions and communicating with looks and gentle touches what they had zero courage to say out loud. Both were also restless and couldn't always spend their hours training so dancing felt like fair game. A very pleasant and completely platonic way of passing the time with a good friend, or at least that's what they told themselves.

Then the war ended, feelings were finally acknowledged and returned now that there was enough time to reflect and actually do something about it and time continued to pass. No matter the changes and busy schedules that came with adulthood and bearing the responsibilities of ruling/helping rule a nation, some things remained constant. Though they never broadcasted it, the Gaang knew that Katara and Zuko would sometimes be found at night just swaying in each other's arms while they quietly talked about their day. It became a tradition - their way to bond and reconnect after a busy day. It was also muscle memory at this point and something they would naturally drift to doing when the opportunity arose. If they weren't training, lounging and drinking tea or walking arm in arm along the courtyard for a stroll, they'd be dancing.

Ofc the dances varied. Most of the time it was simple, intimate, and didn't require much energy. It was during festivals and other special events where they'd let loose and swap partners with their friends. They definitely would've taught each other's traditional dances too. Most of the time they stuck to couple dances though.

The two would then make it to their golden years surrounded by friends and family. In this au, Aang, Sokka and Suki are definitely still alive and kicking and they, together with Toph, would reminisc about the good old days and pat themselves in the back for helping get Zuko and Katara together. They would've gotten together eventually anyway but the Gaang just sped up the process and the credit for starting the whole dancing tradition goes to them. Aang isn't afraid to admit that he and whoever he married in this au also partake in said tradition; Sokka and Suki would do so every now and then but they much prefer exchanging swords as their love language; Toph is indifferent and much prefers just sitting back and letting them enjoy themselves.

This is way over due but I'm glad I was able to finish it. Will sadly be the only prompt I'll be able to do for zutara month bc life threw a wrench and made me too busy, though I'm still interested in making the other prompts at a later date. /N

Truth be told, Huamei did not intend to say that out loud but there was something- just. Something. Like an itch at the back of her mind, that eerie feeling of when the word you so desperately are looking for is just at the tip of your tongue, and yet, no matter how hard you try, it does not come. She’s seen that face before, heard that voice, but it feels like a memory of a stranger, borrowed without permisson. And she doesn’t want it either but-

He’s looking at her, eyes wide, but a beginning of a frown starts to weigh down his lips. The tea he’s holding is most likely already cold.

“I’m sorry, I-”, she pries her fingers from his sleeve. “You just seem...familiar.”

AU Bot Plots: The Stand Up Comic

Sokka goes to an open mic one night and finds his new passion; stand up comedy.

It was never Sokka's intention to even go to the open mic talent show at the new tea shop downtown, but his sister was on a mission to make sure there was a full house and wouldn't take no for an answer. When Sokka teased her about wanting to make a good impression on her boyfriend's uncle, she retaliated by putting him on the performers list for that night. Sokka could have said no- he should have said no- but he took to the stage and improvised a set that included one or two very embarrassing stories about his dear little sister, and her penchant for dragging him along into wacky misadventures. It brings the house down.

After the show, a sharp looking young woman approaches him, and introduces herself. Suki Morimoto, the niece of Kyoshi Morimoto who owns AvaCorp productions. Suki found Sokka's routine hilarious and wonders if he would be interested in an internship writing for a comedy variety show she's recently been made a producer on. Sokka agrees immediately, not because he really has ambitions of being a comedy writer, but because Suki is gorgeous, and he thinks working on the show with her will give him a shot at her. Unfortunately, Suki doesn't find Sokka nearly as impressive as his comedy...

In honor of a milestone that matters to absolutely no one aside from myself (I finished editing 70/80 podfic chapters for I&S, which means that I have a posting buffer for that project until early May and ~44 hours of finished audio of the fic🎉), I thought I'd finally share a thing that I did in May of last year:

I started a youtube channel! It's basically just another place for my podfics to live, with the addition of some (in my biased opinion) pretty visuals to look at. The channel is currently up to date with my I&S podfic and nearly all of my true drabbles, and all of my other completed podfics (and remastered versions of the ones I originally recorded on a REALLY awful microphone) will be going up over the next few months. So if audio versions of fanfic but on youtube sounds appealing to anyone, feel free to check it out! Everything is in order in the playlists for the sake of convenience if you want to binge.

And because I had too much fun designing the visuals for all my youtube podfics, both current and upcoming, here's a taste of the thumbnails you'll get to see:

Some are obviously MUCH closer to posting than others, but it's been a really fun project to put these together!

me in real life: no action is inherently romantic, and implying that there are certain things only a romantic partner would do is reductive and disrespectful to true friendships. friendships can be just as important as romance and friends can do anything for each other.

some anti: zuko taking lightning for katara wasn’t romantic or really meaningful and they’re just platonic friends, practically siblings-

me: anyway zuko romantically took romantic lightning for katara because he’s one hundred percent absolutely completely head over heels romantically in love with her. he told me so himself.
