At first glance it's a bit odd that Touya was so focused on Stain's vision when he doesn't care about All Might, when Stain's obsession with All Might's particular method of heroics is what inspired the Hero Killer in the first place.
But he isn't lying here. Dabi believes he is dedicated to the Hero Killer's cause - his own version of it anyway. Stain brought judgment and exposed "false heroes". And he was thwarted right when he was about to slay the biggest false hero of them all - Endeavor. And now it's Dabi's calling to make the Hero Killer's wish to topple Endeavor a reality.

MHA chapter 378 and moving forward with purpose
I’m currently writing a different analysis related to character design, but this chapter in bnha was so incredibly important that I just had to talk about it. As we know, this chapter had the same name as a previous one, that being “The Story of How We All Became Heroes Part 3”. I and many others saw this detail and immediately thought that Horikoshi might’ve made a mistake. But after rereading the chapter translations and reviewing the manga I realized that he actually made an incredibly purposeful decision. When we begin to really see what the villains are going through and thinking after the first war arc, it was titled “The Story of How We All Became Heros Minus 1”. We would’ve been at a part 4, but we subtracted 1 so now we are back at 3. Why is that? Well, the in the “Minus 1” chapter we get to see just how much in pain the league is. They are not celebrating their supposed victory, because in the end all they got out the war was loss of friends and increased manipulation at the hands of All For One. Therefore, they can’t become heroes yet because they still need to be saved themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This chapter is a repeat because it’s entire purpose is to finish setting the stage for the rest of the battle and for saving the villains. We see former villains such as Gentle, La Brava, and even Nagant helping in the battle against All For One and his forces. More specifically, we see how Izuku Midoriya’s efforts have not been in vain, and how he has inspired them to do good. The theme of finding the good in people and believing in their power to change in be better, which will ultimately pay off in the end due to said goodness, is alive and well though the integral character that Izuku is. It’s incredibly cathartic for the audience, because Deku is rarely rewarded for his good deeds, and by the former villains showing up not to help the hero’s, but him specifically, it demonstrates to Izuku that his goal is possible. He can save the villains. He can save Tomura. Now, how does this play into the genius behind the title?
We cannot move forward until we make sure that no one is left behind. Never again, at least
The villains have to be given the possibility to grow and become heroes themselves, or else nothing will change. The cycle of violence and conflict will only continue. With this chapter, the end of the cycle has been cemented. We can now move forward because we have been 100% ensured that no one is going to get left behind. Thus, now that we’ve been shown all the villains that Deku has already helped, the only one left for him is Tomura. The stage has been fully set, Horikoshi has fully laid all of his cards out on the table, and now we as the audience just have to wait to see how the league of villains can be heros too.

Hello! I was wondering if I could request some platonic headcanons for the Bnha teachers (Aizawa, Present Mic and All Might/Toshinori) ??? sepparetly if it's possible. Maybe they found another girl alongside of Eri, a 13 y/o girl who has very bad trust issues and never talks to anyone due to her trauma and instead prefers to point out at things she wants. But they are very patient with her and let her be by their side because she is scared of being away from them.
Maybe them reacting to the reader looking at them in the middle of one of their clases and hesitantly lifting up her hand just to tell them "thank you"
A/n: Thank you so much for requesting this! I am so sorry, its been a couple days since you asked this but I have finally gotten the courage to try and write this. I really hope this is good. I'm going to try my best!
Aizawa
Today had marked the 30th day you had been rescued from Overhaul, you had been counting. After the black haired man had saved you, you had sort of become attached to him. You had felt the most safe with him, as he was the first person to protect you in a long time.
You never spoke, you hated your voice. Overhaul had always said that your voice was the only reason you were never wanted around. Aizawa had always tried to get you to talk, but you never did.
Today you realized that it was your birthday. You remembered that Aizawa had said something to Present Mic about throwing something special at lunch. You looked at the clock, it said 11:45.
15 minutes in till lunch, you felt something in your heart has you thought about how Aizawa has gone out of his way to remember that it was your birthday. A sign of kindness you haven't been shown in a while.
As you were thinking, 15 minutes had gone by. The lunch bell rang loudly through the halls. As the students quickly sat up amd waked out of class room.
You waked up to Aizawa's desk. Aizawa look up as he heard footsteps approach him. As he saw you, he grabbed a chair from one of the desk's nearby.
As he sat the chair down, you sat down. He then said that he had something for you. He opened one of the drawers in his desk, and pulled a box in wrapping paper out.
Once he closed the drawer, he handed you the box. Once in your hands, he asked you to open it. After opening the box you looked inside to see a small note pade, and a cool looking pen.
As you were looking at the note pad and pen, you heard Aizawa say that this was a gift so you could communicate better with everyone. Without even realizing it, you felt cold tears falling down you face. You slowly look up to him, a small smile on your face.
You slowly tried to say something but your voice cracked. So you tried again, and you said it. "Thank you".
Aizawa eyes widened as he heard you say it. You had said something. Aizawa replied with
"Your welcome"
A/n #2: I just got writing this one ⬆, and I believe this is the most i've ever written.
A/n #3: I just reread your ask, and I hope your ok with me using a little bit of a different idea then yours!
⬆ 12/23/2022 ⬆
⬇ 12/25/2022 ⬇
A/n: Today I have decided to finish this here, but one day I might continue this. But for now i'm going so stop. I feel horrible doing this, but I just don't think I can finish this. I'm so sorry :(
Also Happy Holidays!

So, you have a lot of bookmarks on AO3, which I love to go through, because you have good taste. But I must know, are there any fics, from any fandom, that are pretty much your all time favorites?
Hiya
Yeah I do have a lot 🤭 over 7K on my side of things (I know some people are super picky about what they bookmark but I just do what a finished and liked, and l I like 95% of what I finish anyway, because I prefer to filter my own bookmarks when rereading...) and generally I will say that they're all good in their own ways. My big favs? Regardless of fandom?
Hm.... This is off the top of my head
Disclaimer: be very mindful of tags, warnings, and ratings! This is also not in any way meant to stir discourse and I'll just block people if they try something
Update: had to slash my link numbers as even my drafts (almost twenty of them lol) wouldn't save SO-!
Naruto
Tobirama/Kagami (I tagged this "Kagami hauls ass out of the ground" because I desperately need that shortcut to finding it) ⬇️
Summary: It’s just his luck that whoever revived him lacked the courtesy to summon him onto a nice bloody battlefield. No, instead he’s underground, probably in his own fucking coffin and wearing his own goddamn corpse. He hopes he remembers this when his soul is re-released into the Pure Lands; he’s going to kick Tobirama’s ass for inventing Edo Tensei in the first place.
Mild crossover with Venom, Team 7 genfic BAMFness (this fic is enshrined in my mind) ⬇️
Summary: By all accounts, Sakura is dead for the first five minutes of her life.
Yet, she continues. If she occasionally has too many, too sharp teeth then that's their business.
Team 7 & Rookie 9... Hysterical, that's probably the word for this masterpiece of comedy (I cry every damn time it gets to Genma interrupting the alley fight) ⬇️
Summary: Kakashi comes down with a cold seven(ish?) days after he passes his first genin team. He knew children were a bad idea but he didn't think it would change anything this fast.
Bnha/My Hero Academia
This fic is the one I rec to get people to actually read fanfic for the first time (and it always works)⬇️
Summary: Heroes lead by Bakugo.
Villains lead by Midoriya.
Seven days prep time.
Three days for Izuku Midoriya to show why they should be glad he's not a real villain.
The Quirk-science in this Todoroki-centric (subtle reincarnation) fic is just so delicious ⬇️
Summary: Todoroki Shouto has memories that he didn't make on his own, motor skills that his brain doesn't know how to parse, and a love of science and mathematics and physics that means he broke down his Quirk into its most intricate, universe-bending components at the age of seven.
In one universe, he wants to become a hero. In this one, even though he doesn't want to, he might have to.
Hawks-centric fix it BAMFness because hello to that insane quirk, insane backstory training and bleeding heart!⬇️
Summary: After the incident at USJ the Hero Public Safety Commission is concerned about the security of UA. With All Might still a target and a member of the staff they offer to add another hero to their roster to boost their security as well as appease the public.
Hawks does not want this job. He has many other jobs that need doing.
The kids are kind of cool though. They make him laugh.
In which Hawks unwillingly adopts children by the bucket loads and learns some things about himself in turn.
Then the League of Villains happens and his newfound teaching knowledge gives him IDEAS
Okay so this was originally about three times as long BUT Tumblr won't let me post that many links together and it's getting very late for me SO so I'll quit here but...! If anyone wants more recs, the rest of my list (which were other fandoms) or if anyone has a rec for me/my followers, go ahead and drop into my askbox!
Happy reading, Anon! Do let me know if you try any of these and what you think of them!

looking at the comics list I had on my "interests" page on my abt like forever ago
Always Raining Here - dropped this one bc the creators seemed fujioshi-ish (idk if they really are or not) also it had sex scenes with teenagers (not like explicit but still more than I was comfortable with seeing)
Ava’s Demon - dropped after all the shit with sexualizing minors came out
Balderdash - it doesn't update much, but I still like it, very cute ^_^
Boxer Hockey - the creator works on sonic stuff now which is so cool, I don't remember much abt his comic though >_<
Check, Please! - I haven't read this one in a while, cute, but not my favorite
Cucumber Quest - still love it, need to reread and catch up
Hanna Is Not A Boy’s Name - I still miss it
Helvetica - I liked that there was a character with the same name as me ^__^ I dunno if this one's worth a revisit though, I don't think it'll ever be finished
Homestuck - I liked this shit for way too fucking long
Knight’s Errant - forgot abt this one, but the art was gorgeous
Lackadaisy - I'm sooooo behind but it's so exciting that there's an animation of it now
Monster Pop! - dropped this one bc I found art by the creator of the main character (college age) shipped with the ava's demon main character (under 15? idr her age) also she still seems to be friends with the ava's demon creator
Monster Pulse - dropped bc the creator drew art of chiyo gsnk making an ahego face (in a non-sexual context as a punchline but it was still weird)
Monsterkind - I haven't kept up with this one much >_<
Neokosmos - I think it's discontinued? lost interest
Never Satisfied - dropped bc the creator made dick jokes about their teenage bnha oc
Not Drunk Enough - I want to like this one bc it's by the hinabn creator, but it never totally grabbed me, I need to try it out again
Olympus Overdrive - the site for this one was taken down (sad)
Parallax - dropped bc on of the teenage characters had a sexualized design and bc the creator shipped sheith
Paranatural - very behind but I love it ^__^
Peritale - dropped bc the creator was weird abt the sazzed drama and maybe some other stuff idk
Phoenix Flair - I don't think this one will be continued but I liked it while it lasted
Prague Race - LOVED this one, too bad it's no more
Puu - completed, I should reread bc it's lovely
Rock And Riot - not my favorite, don't feel the need to revisit but it was fine
Sakana - ABSOLUTE FAVE
Scott Pilgrim - I can appreciate the art style and its influence, but I can't get past scott dating a high schooler, that's more than being a loser, that's being a predator
Skeptical - still love this one as well ^__^ need to reread and catch up
Sleepless Domain - very fun, need to catch up
Snarlbear - completed, loved how colorful it is, I should reread
Spacehop - I believe the creator is making a sort of reboot for it? looking forward to that
Super Mahou - same as peritale
The Property Of Hate - dropped bc the creator likes abot
The Well By The House On The Hill - same as peritale
This Is Not Fiction - mixed feelings bc like the author strung us along for the longest time to the point where it seemed like gaybaiting and then it wasn't... it was pretty cute though
Vibe - I think I just like lost interest and wasn't into certain character designs of women
Witchy - I like this one, but it's never been priority reading

I just wanted to let you know that you are one of the only writers I’ve seen do a time travel fic in an intensely narratively satisfying way. I know you don’t really plan on updating it anymore (which is so valid!! I’m just so glad I got to read *anything* from you, you’re so talented!!!). There are virtually no plotholes, you chose the perfect character to voice the narrative (he wouldn’t give away too much, so it leaves the reader in suspense), and you write the most beautiful character relationships!! Your attention to detail and understanding of the effects of trauma supplement the narrative so well!!! Both the subtle and large-scale effects were interwoven so well. And the suspense!!!! Oh my gosh!! The double dramatic irony of us the readers knowing things Aizawa doesn’t and Aizawa knowing things the rest of the characters don’t constantly kept me on the edge of my seat. It’s one of the only fics I can reread and find new details in every time. Every single character is written with so much love and care, it’s so beautiful and impressive!!!!! It’s such a kind story, overall :,)
There are so many more things I could say, but I think I’ve left enough comments on the fic itself and would probably go waaaaay over the word limit for a tumblr ask.
I hope you continue to find and work on projects you enjoy doing, even if tmgr isn’t one of them <3 <3 <3
You’re just a truly excellent writer and I wish you nothing but the best!! Reading your works is genuinely a privilege ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
;___; maybe I’ll just cry forever because of this ask tbh this was incredibly sweet and kind and I don’t have any clue what to say in response that will express how reading this made me feel
Time travel fics (tbh time travel fixits in general, there’s a bunch of kcomics that have the same trope and I live for them too) are so near and dear to my heart, and they’re my go-to “things are hard, I need something that makes me feel like mistakes don’t have to be forever,” comfort reads, and it really means so much to me that you enjoyed my take on one so much. And also that you picked up on a lot of my deliberate choices! The double dramatic irony, picking Aizawa (who admittedly is my fave bnha character so I was probs always gonna pick him BUT he also made a great unreliable-but-predictable narrator), and the trauma affecting things subtly and obviously… Sometimes I wonder how much of what I write gets across to readers, because I’m v much a “every choice I made, every word I picked, they all had a reason even if I dont explicitly say what that reason is,” kinda writer, and it’s both amazing and humbling to have those details picked up on by a reader tbh 💕
Thank you very very very much for sending this message and brightening my day, it was so nice to read and means a lot 💕 I hope to get back into writing something (anything!!! I miss writing) soon-ish now that the holidays are over and 2024 is in full swing, and hopefully I’ll get something out there that’ll be in a fandom you enjoy 💕 thank you again!

Ms Ma’am. These stories are INCREDIBLE!! I’m obsessed with how you write angst and making the bnha men scumbags. Youre an amazing writer and the way you write drama is spectacular!
Awww thank you anon! I was rereading my previous works and notice I am one angsty writer lol! I personally don’t think these characters would act like how I write them in canon but that’s what makes it fun! I’m always looking for pieces and writers that get down to the nitty gritty of tough subjects and I don’t see that a lot. Most of my writings are heavy as they are soft, and I like challenging myself to write complex feelings and situations. So thank you for liking them, and I just live for drama so I’ll continue writing it!

Ok, so I completely and utterly love "like real people do" and seeing HQ character names makes me wonder if it's a coincidence or not. It toady bright a smile to my face though.
Outside of that, I re-read the fic many times, and it continues to make me happy. The surprising outcome is that it makes me consider making an account on a dating app and hoping for the best.
Seriously, continue on with the great work. I love all your work and I'm never disappointed.
definitely a pleasant coincidence!! hq is in my brain always, lmao!!! if only I could dig myself out of this deep bnha sandpit _| ̄|○ but omg you reread it?! already?! I’m so honoured and giddy that you liked it enough to (*^﹏^*) it’s always a treat to see you back in my notifs and thank you for the support! I am truly grateful!

"You've only got yourself to rely on!" That's quite a thing to say in a society that expects people not to act and wait for a hero to save the day. Especially because Present Mic is making it clear he means that not for just heroes/hero hopefuls trying to make it in a tough industry but for everyone.
But if you can only rely on yourself, why does the hero profession even exist? Is this just the MLA's survival of the fittest philosophy in a less quirk supremacist coat of paint?

ill be honest the first time i read The Long Way Around (which must have been in 2018 !) and for a while after i simply was not aware it was a series, even after i started following you? when you posted rise up i remember being very surprised and excited "oh there's MORE?" so i really have zero expectations lol
i absolutely adore it and it's a very wonderful series, thank you (and i am also very glad you are a fan of other things i am a fan of, so i can just hop fandoms and continue enjoying your fic)
Ahhhh you're gonna make me scream because I also am in love with your stories. I've adored them for years and now have been greedily reacquainting myself with all the excellent BNHA stories I've loved over the years. Your 30 minute fics still haunt me and are Astounding.
When I first wrote TLWA, the seeds of the hypothetical future were there but didn't really cement until I finished the story. Once done, I came up with what eventually became Rise Up and the finale story. I've had that finale story outlined down to the detail for years. It's always bothered me, having that ending live only in my head, to be incomplete. That coupled with a bit of a falling out with BNHA made it hard to get momentum going. I decided a few weeks ago to really make an honest effort at wrapping things up.
I decided to bridge the gap, to dip my feet back into the world, by writing a sort of set-up/in between piece that addresses things I've wanted to talk about but never had the space to. It's actually going well! I'm finally starting to get into the groove and have about 7000 words so far. My optimistic prediction is Feb/March but oh the more I write this fic the more I'm raring to go the finale fic. With it all plotted, I hope that comes out fairly quickly like TLWA/RU did.
This whole verse is still very important to me, Rise up remains one of my favorite fics I've written and I get teary eyed every time I reread it. I'm so genuinely excited to move forward with this, its like coming full circle even if I took the long way around.

I'm rereading bnha and I'm at that point where the LoV attack UA students at the forest training camp
And, like, the kids' mentality is super interesting. They're attacked by villains and explicitly told not to engage and to get to safety. Right before the attack Aizawa was telling the remedial training kids about how to conduct themselves in a crisis, ie. not getting in the way of everyone around them by being unaware of the consequences of their actions.
Right after he says that, the other kids are under attack. And what do they do? They don't get to safety for the most part. There's this kid in 1-B that actively refuses to fall back. He doesn't want to fall more behind 1-A, and to him only direct exposure to danger like 1-A's had will help him grow. He also says "what kind of heroes would we be if we turned a blind eye to those who would threaten the lives of others?". It's flawed logic on two grounds: 1, they're students, not heroes. And 2, they're the lives that are at risk here.
Then there's Midoriya who decides to look for Kouta all on his own. When he runs into a Villain, instead of trying to flee w the kid he's decided he has to protect, he switches mission to "defeat the villain at all cost". Why not use full cowling to take the kid and get tf out? Especially when it becomes clear that the other dude is way out of his league. Midoriya is a prime pathetic character (as in, he evokes pity through concern/compassion bc he's simply liable to suffer), all he knows is to make a martyr of himself, going as far as thinking "I'll handle this by myself"
Aizawa's words sound really tragic to me in this context, because the kids don't know better. It can be argued that their continued refusal to retreat is what'll cause Bakugou's kidnapping, and everything that follows (All Might's early retirement, etc.)
They all think being a hero is about defeating villains to some extent, instead of diffusing the situation or retreating to reassess or just helping and protecting people. They set themselves up for failure simply because they think heroics is about winning. Because at the end of the day they're teenagers, child soldiers really, put in extremely stressful situations without appropriate training. And that's why there won't be social peace in bnha as long as there are heroes imo

Got any good recommendations for yandere fics?
Sure, just a couple!  Be aware, some of these might be “problematic”
The Secret Side of Me by sweetNsimple is one of my favorite oneshots of all time.  It’s a Stony fic from 2014 where when Steve and Bucky were stuck in Leningrad in 1942 they had to resort to cannibalism to make it out alive.  Steve continued to resort to it afterward during the war to feed the Commandos, and eventually when he thawed again when the Avengers got together, started up again.  He starts cooking for Tony, and would just do absolutely anything for him, including cutting muscles out of his arm to pan fry up for Tony to enjoy.  And!  It has a happy ending. :) I can’t recommend this one highly enough, it’s just so good.  I reread it every year or so.  None of the cannibalism is particularly graphic, and it’s not very bloody either so no worries if you can’t stomach gore.
9/10ths by RayShippouUchiha is a really tasty Aizawa/Deku fic, where Izuku is a quirkless analyst that follows Aizawa’s cases and Aizawa falls head over heels for him instantly.  (Disclaimer: Just so y’all know, I’ve never really been able to get into BNHA but y’all have some great fic!)  This is still being written as I mark this in, so just be aware there’s only 5 chapters.  Still though, it’s turning out so good!!
