Heads-Up 7-Up
My favorite Tater Tot @writingpotato07 did an open tag, and y'all know I'm a tag game slut, so here we go.
I'm gonna tag....hmmm...@saltysupercomputer, @careful-pyromancer, and @bookish-galaxy
So here are the last 7 para written on the big scene with a whole lot of characters where Abriella brings her friends to Imperium over in @theimperiumchronicles
“My grandfather is whom I have chosen to guide you.  Lucifer was lured into darkness by his pride, but even he has seen the ere of his ways had come back towards the light since my rule here.  I feel you two will find much in common and that he will be able to help you find your footing here in Imperium.”
A smirk was planted on Lucifer’s face as finally he got to lay eyes on the female that he was to be “assisting”.  He knew that even the Demonic Nephilim didn’t think he deserved to be walking free, but he was.  And the beauty he got to work with was a reward for playing by his granddaughter’s rules, and avoiding being beheaded by his grandson when he got a little too close to the line.  A beauty he planned on having under him and enjoying by nightfall.  Even if everyone else was playing guide dog for their guests, he planned on actually ravishing his, and he doubted she’d mind from the way her eyes were taking him in.  Ah, it was good to be him.
The little Nephilim he’d been warned to behave around wasn’t wilting but Deacon and Leandre were definitely playing the roles of guard dogs well.  He’d have to see how things went around her later.  He would never hurt her, but push to get a reaction; that he might do.  Prince of Darkness was one of his titles after all.
“Behave!”  One word brought her grandfather to a stop as he turned to look at Abriella with one brow raised in question.  “Do not forget who and what I am, or I will be more than happy to remind you.”  She gave him a sardonic smile that had him inclining his head.  Her point was made.  She had been able to read his energy and from the look on Leandre and Deacon’s faces, her reaction had clued them in to be on alert for Lucifer’s actions in the future.  While he wouldn’t do anything outright, he did like to put his toe on the line and see what he could accomplish without stepping over.
“As always, my darling.”  He would not challenge her.  He did like breathing and being.  She could end both without even breaking a sweat, and would.  It had been made clear to everyone that resided inside the palace that if harm came to any of her friends, her response would be harsh and swift. Having been on the receiving end of her ire and hanging on the wall of the grand ballroom of Imperium for over two years, he was not inclined to test her too much.  The wounds from her daggers had still not completely healed, and he did not not want to know what powers she held that caused that.
Tall and auburn hair with a cocky strut that was unlike the other males that Brie had chosen to help the others, Cassandra studied Lucifer closely.  She liked this one, he was the epitome of a “bad boy” and she aimed to find out just how bad he could be.  Let the other play with the heroes and warriors, she wanted the one who could get down and dirty in every way possible.  Already she could feel her desire for him growing, and not just her sexual one.  Oh yes, this would be fun.
In her talks with Abriella, Cassandra had expressed interest in Caligo, the torture pits and what lay in the dark depths of the other realm.  She had been informed that she would be able to go there, but would have to be escorted, and if that escort was Lucifer, well, she had no problem with that at all.  There would be all kinds of fun that could be had.  She was probably the only one of the females at the table that loved the darkness and gave herself over to the evil, and she was unashamed of it. She had a feeling with the right impetus, some of the demons could be persuaded to have a little fun her way too.

Hello😊😆

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Kann ich absolut weiterempfehlen 😊

Post-arrest interview with the villain of a 90s War On Drugs propaganda cartoon
Tumblr media
Dr. Theofugus Narcomanticus Uglorde, his thin and withered lips curling over his decaying fangs into a sneer, pointed fingernails tented: “You see, officer, the simple answer is that I hate children. When I was a child, I was bullied for my bookish nature, more interested in my test tubes and silicon chips. I vowed I would have my revenge! Collaborating with gangsters and international terrorists I developed my devilish alchemy as we created the evilest substances ever created, vile weeds grown in dark jungles watered with the tears of orphans. Oh, how I relish in the tears of America’s parents! The hand-wringing of the nation as their youth puff their sinful spliffs and descend into thievery, wanton sex, drinking, smoking, loud music! Gang-wars and knife-fights and heavy petting! All it takes is one sample and they’re hooked forever, irreversibly careening down the switchback road to death, death, and more death!”
Sgt. McGruff, muscled fist thumping the table: “Aha! The true origin of marijuana!”
Dr. Uglorde, cackling: “The very same! Our team of dealers will give out free samples—but what a cost! That hateful herb is the catalyst that turns even the kindest apple-cheeked tot into Johnny Switchblade! First he sneaks pennies from Mommy’s purse, then bills from Daddy’s billfold, all to feed the raging hunger within him for a toke of the stickiest of ickies! Oh, but this time the dealer can’t meet him on the street corner, and invites him to the slum-house to pick up his order. Long way to go, eh, Johnny? No harm in stealing a bicycle to get there! Or has the reeking reefer rotted your lungs? Too bad--better steal a whole car! And when he arrives, the place is packed with loose women—salacious music—filthy poems—he’ll be dead in a fortnight! Haw haw haw!”

Do you have any Romanian (language or just content-wise) media recs? Particularly novels and poetry but really any must-sees/must-reads are welcome!
uuuu!
my brain is too fried right now to do any kind of exhaustive list so i’m gonna rec a few things that i know you could get your hands on/available in translation:
for two thousand years, by mihail sebastian - really heartbreaking yet also lucid, adventurous and darkly humorous memoir of a Jewish writer in his youth at the height of nazism in romania (there’s even a Penguin classic of it)
diary of a short-sighted adolescent by mircea eliade - a funny and bittersweet bildungsroman about a bookish teenager who wants to read everything now and be the cleverest person alive while also struggling with being super lazy and unmotivated because he’s young and restless, it’s very #relatable. but it’s also fascinating to read this in opposition with “for two thousand years” because eliade entertained legionnaire nazi sympathies at one point. (also, you should check out his novellas too, especially the fantastic ones)
anything you can find in translation by gabriela adamesteanu - just lovely, delicate prose about growing up, being an adult, inhabiting your body and your feelings in an oppressive world
the hatchet by mihail sadoveanu (apparently, there is a translation) - a lot of people give this novel flak, mostly because we had to read it in high school, but it’s a great and deceptively simple little novel that says a lot more about people than it cares to admit. the action takes you through several villages in the East-Carpathians, where a peasant woman goes in search of her missing husband. it’s a fascinating mixture of crime and folklore and mythology.
any novella by costache negruzzi, but especially “alexandru lapusneanu”, another classic we had to read in school and which gets a lot of flak. it’s so bonkers and #quality-trash. let’s just say there’s a scene where the power-hungry voievod/prince lapusneanu enacts a red-wedding situation and builds a pyramid of freshly severed heads to impress his lady wife *swoon*
the forest of the hanged by liviu rebreanu - i know people argue this isn’t his best novel, but it’s got the most heart. it’s the story of a soldier/philosopher in WW1 who falls in love with people again. that’s it. he falls in love with people, and the war and everything in between doesn’t matter anymore. or it matters only as it pertains to people, and people alone.
gallants of the old court by mateiu caragiale - a bizarre gem of early 20th century Romanian nightlife, a wonderful, orgiastic fugue, feverish and infuriating. it’s mostly about rich men and social-climbers getting into existential trouble, but also into real trouble. normally, because the action takes place right before WW1, this would signify the end of an era. but we don’t really have a beginning or end. we are part-balkan, part-french imitators, part-whatever-sticks. nothing moves us, and everything does. and that’s why it’s a sort of love/hate letter to romanians
in terms of poetry, some personal faves:  nichita stanescu, ana blandiana, monica pillat, marin sorescu,  a.e. baconsky, lucian blaga, emil brumaru, nora iuga, marta petreu, nina cassian. and yes, mihai eminescu, our national poet, though im often in two minds about him.
poetry in translation is really hit and miss because of the “untranslatable”, so here’s two lines from a poem by nina cassian, because i want to show you what i mean:
De când m-ai părăsit mă fac tot mai frumoasă             ca hoitul luminând în întuneric.
this roughly and poetically translates to:
Since you left me I’ve grown more beautiful
like the corpse lighting the dark
and this is sort of lovely on its own, but you’d need to know and hear and taste the word “hoit” in romanian to really feel the abjectness, because “hoit” is a smelly, ugly yet also alluring, already decomposing version of “cadavru” aka cadaver/corpse. also “ mă fac tot mai frumoasă” cannot be accurately summed up in “i’ve grown more beautiful”. a literal translation would be “I make myself more beautiful”. in romanian, this is obviously idiomatic and not literal. and yet, these strange self-reflexive valences make these lines strong and eerie, as if the speaker were authoring her beauty, shaping it out of clay and darkness and “hoit”,  like a butterfly cracking the corpse’s shell to get out, but also retaining some of its mesmerizing stench. why did i pause to do a close-reading of romanian poetry??? anyway, you catch my drift
in terms of movies, a recent one i really loved was sierranevada by cristi puiu, which is a neurotic family drama that drains you but also lifts you up
and yeah, the hype is real, 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days by cristi mungiu really is that good (about two young women trying to get an illegal abortion in communist romania. it won the palme d’or for very legit reasons. it breaks you in small ways. the very last shot of the film you’ll carry with you forever). i also liked graduation by cristi mungiu, where a young overachieving girl is about to graduate high school and go on to study abroad, until a terrible event unmoors both her and her family. the movie turns almost hallucinatory at one point, filled with ambiguity and a kind of sleep-walking quality
tales from the golden age by cristi mungiu (him again!) is also fantastic for anyone who wants to get a taste of communist romania and the sad-funny absurdities of everyday life. this movie is split in 2 parts and the format is that of an anthology, almost like watching several short films at once. and there is one film in the anthology that always turns me inside out, and it’s really silly, it’s this bonnie and clyde type story about this girl and boy who meet at a party and devise an ingenious get-rich scam and just run around a few neighborhoods trying to put it into practice and it’s...the sweetest, most incomplete thing. there is such a strange, lovely connection there that never gets realized, and there is a MOMENT between them where he helps her step down from this ledge and he holds her briefly to him and i remember being in the cinema and thinking THIS, this is THE MOMENT where i felt these people were real. it was such an honest, lovely moment. like the equivalent of this song. ANYWAY, why am i rambling so much??? this ask was supposed to be SHORT.
aferim! by radu jude is also a really neat movie and provides a look into the historical romanian/rroma relationship and why it’s so messed up, yet also so organic
the death of mr. lazarescu by cristi puiu is also a great little film about a man who gets sick and goes to the hospital. and...dies, as you can tell from the title. on the surface, he dies because of institutional ineptness and a broken healthcare system. at a deeper level, he dies because we no longer know how to help people. various hospital staff in the film do try to help him and fail for various stupid or quietly heartbreaking reasons. it’s a movie about being physically unable to care. there’s indifference, sure, but also this great exhaustion of the human spirit. but the movie is also darkly funny. might not be a great pandemic watch, but then again it might be exactly what you need
there are soooo many other classics in terms of books (morometii by marin preda, for instance, about a patriarch in a small village in the South who slowly realizes the world he used to live in doesn’t have room for him anymore, and maybe it never had) but i’m gonna end on a quote from ion creanga, one of the most cryptic classics of romanian lit:
“Şi eu eram vesel ca vremea cea mai bună şi şturlubatic şi copilăros ca vântul în tulburea sa”
my translation: “and I was cheerful like the best weather and frolicsome and childish like the wind in its cloudiness”
and again, the words in romanian and their particular sound and bite (”şturlubatic”, “tulburea”) immediately take me elsewhere. creanga writes about childhood, but it’s never really childhood. he writes as an adult who, in my opinion, was never really a child, but a weird, small god of the land. i mean the word “tulburea” can mean both “turmoil” and “muddiness”. the wind can be anguished, but also just a little cloudy, just a little hazy, shrinking its agony, howling it in the child. it’s eerie and gorgeous. so, that’s what he does: creanga writes about children as if they were wind-like spirits. he writes stories about devils and the peasants who trick them and school books filled with spit and flies, and warm eggs stolen from nests and fairy-tales of a world that is buried somewhere inside us, but not too deep, things hidden under our clothes or nails or even in our hair. and it’s all so physical and convoluted, just like his prose. and i don’t think anyone will ever make sense of him and that’s what makes him so discombobulatingly great.
anyway, this was supposed to be...like, really short! and not gassy! i’m sorry. i love waxing about all this gay stuff. i’m so gay about it.
realistically tho, the nearest thing you’ll find in your local bookshop is probably books by famous ‘theater of the absurd’ playwright, eugen ionesco, or novels in translation by contemporary author mircea cartarescu. both are pretty good, so go for it! (if you want to start small, i’d recommend REM by mircea cartarescu, because it’s so trippy and meta and captures that summer holiday eeriness so well. it goes well with this romanian song sung in english)
okay byeeeee

Unbelievable- Remus Lupin x Reader
Request: Hii, could you write a Remus x reader, where she's the hottest girl in school and somehow they start dating and the boys and basically nobody can't believe it? lol thanks!
Word count: 850
Tumblr media
“Will you go out with me” Remus asked, sucking in a breath. This was probably the most nerve wrecking experience of his life. He was finally asking you to be his girlfriend. The story? You had met him in first year, he looked withdrawn and bookish, you where pretty and confident. You had become immediate best friends, bonding over your books and love of chocolate. You didn't hang out often in public with him. His decision. He wasn't a fan of the popularity scene, which you understood. But you still hung out everyday, and you loved it. He was always there for you. For the First 2 years of Hogwarts , you two where in best friend bliss. Then 3rd year rolled around. The summer before 3rd year, you had grown even more beautiful than before. Your body had filled out, your bone structure had improved, your hair had become shinier and longer. And your popularity shot up. You were regarded as possibly the prettiest girl in Hogwarts, and that made Remus really nervous. Not only because you where mind numbingly beautiful, but also because every boy in the entire school marvelled at you as you walked past. And that gave him an air of jealousy. All. The. Time. He'd try to hang out with you in the library. And you two would get interrupted every 5 minutes by a boy with just enough courage to talk to you. You had never showed any interest in anyone thankfully. Remus’ small first year crush on you had grown immensely, blossoming into love.
But that was 2 years ago. You guys where in 5th year now, and closer than ever. Nobody knew of course, but you guys liked it that way. He had taken you on a library date, read to you, brought you flowers and chocolate. And you had the biggest heart eyes for him.
“Yes! Of course I will” You jumped into his arms as he practically squeezed the life out of you.
Remus didn't arrive to his dorm until late, after the boys had gone to bed, you two decided to take a moonlit walk around the black lake. So the boys didn't really see him till the next morning. He headed down to breakfast, having overslept, longer than his friends. As he entered the great hall, he yawned and threw on a lazy smile. He sat down next to his best friends, still very smug and happy he was dating the most beautiful girl in Hogwarts.
“What are you so smiley about Moons?” Sirius said, narrowing his eyes at the werewolf.
“Nothing Padfoot, absolutely nothing.” He just smirked.
“You got some last night, didn't you? That's why you came into the dorm really  late” Sirius perked up and turned towards his friend, acting like a teenage girl.
“Oh my god! Who?” He shrieked. The rest of the boys laughed at his antics. They made small talk until Sirius saw you walking over and made an inhumane noise. James stared at him, about to ask what was wrong, until he saw you and made a similar noise. Remus looked towards you and smiled.
“Hey boys” You waved at the marauders, who mostly just stared at you. Sirius cleared his throat and put on a deep voice.
“Hey, baby-doll” He said in a deep voice, Remus laughed. The boys eyed him suspiciously, silently asking why he wasn't getting flustered too.
“Right...” You said, giggling at them before you turned to Remus.
“we still up for tomorrow?” You smiled sweetly, he had planned a nice date for you two tomorrow.
“Yeah” He nodded, eyes full of admiration. You nodded back and excused yourself back to your friends. When you where out of earshot, James and Sirius turned to Remus, shocked.
“What was that about?!” Sirius asked, shock clearly evident, that his best friend had just smoothly talked tot he prettiest girl they had ever seen.
“She's my girlfriend” He said nonchalantly . The boys went slack jawed, another inhumane noise coming from Sirius.
“No she is bloody not” James stated. Of course they didn't believe him. “No offence mate, but if Sirius cant bag her, no one can” James said, pointing at Sirius who was nodding.
“Or maybe she doesn't date arrogant toe rags? “Sirius frowned. Remus rolled his eyes. “Watch. Hey (Y/N)?” You heard the call of your boyfriend and walked over to  him. Before you could even ask him what he needed, his lips where immediately attached to yours. You weren't complaining though. When you pulled away, you saw a majority of the Gryffindor table staring at you slack jawed.
“What”
“The”
“Hell” The three boys echoed at the sight of their friend kissing the impossibly beautiful girl. You smiled as he said you could go back to your friends.
“Tell us your secrets?!” Sirius yelled, as he just smirked. He was so happy you were his girlfriend.

💬 What’s your favorite sport to play, watch, or read about? . My favorite sport to play is basketball, but I love to watch football the most! . R.S. Grey’s next standalone rom-com, The Trouble With Quarterbacks, is coming August 6th! Check out this gorgeous cover!! And I have to say, I’m allllllllways down for a football sports romance!! . . . ✩ s u m m a r y ⇣ CANDACE: KAT & YASMINE! DO NOT DALLY! Come straight home after work. Kat, don’t take the long route from the subway station just so you can pass by Cute Hot Dog Guy. This is important! I’ve had THE BEST DAY. You won’t believe it. There I was in my preschool classroom, washing a bit of poo out of some soggy trousers, when this absolute babe came to collect his nephew from my class. Truthfully, I thought I’d blacked out for a moment when I first saw him. He was a proper hunk with glorious brown hair, quite tall, and he had these arms. Are muscly arms supposed to turn me on? I’m panting just thinking about them. Anyway, he told me he’s a professional foosball player. At least, I think that’s what he said. The tots can get quite loud near pick-up time. YASMINE: Foosball? What are you on about? Have you gone mad? KAT: Oh sod off. So what if I like to have a good look at Hot Dog Guy’s arse on my trek home after a hard day’s work? It’s called self-care. CANDACE: Kat, you’re hopeless. Yasmine, yes—foosball! I suppose it’s a big thing over here in the States? We must investigate and learn everything we can. By the way, he’s called Logan. Logan + Candace. I think that sounds quite nice! I can hear the wedding bells now. Dum dum da-dum. YASMINE: Oh good grief. I suppose we can do some snooping when I get home. I’ll grab wine on my way. KAT: I’ll grab hot dogs. THE TROUBLE WITH QUARTERBACKS is a hilarious romance about unlikely love found between a British preschool teacher and the professional quarterback who sweeps her off her feet. . . . ✩ h a s h t a g s ⇣ #thetroublewithquarterbacks #rsgrey #romancebooks #coverreveal #bookdragon #bookish #bookaddict #bookworm #booknerd #thehappynow #seekthesimplicity #bookstagrammer #bookhoarder #booksbooksbooks #calmversation #seaofbooks #booksbooksbooks #bookart #bookphoto https://www.instagram.com/p/CC3pQ9rntvS/?igshid=1qr6j9p475dns

Top 10 Disney Couples
Last year for Valentines, I did a post on some of my favorite all-time ships. I wanted to do something like that again this year, so I decided to do Disney specifically. I’m only gonna count the main animated features (with one exception), so no Pixar but maybe I’ll give that its own list next year. Also, because I put this ship on my list last year, I’m going to exclude Rapunzel/Eugene (they’d be Number 2 otherwise) so that I can talk about some other pairings that I love. And trust me, when it comes to Disney, I got plenty.
Okay, here we go~
#10. Milo Thatch/Kida (Atlantis the Lost Empire)
Tumblr media
Atlantis is one of the most underrated Disney films ever, and same with this pair. Okay so I guess technically they didn’t get together since there wasn’t a kiss or anything... but come on! While their intentions were all in the second half of the movie, it was just so... sweet to me. Milo had it rough through the whole movie with so many people belittling him. Even though he made friends with the crew and doing so got them to do the right thing, they were still pretty harsh on the poor guy in the start. He had been mocked due to his dreams, but never gave up even when his inexperience and dorkiness got in the way.
Kida though? She seemed endeared by him. Just like Milo had a curiosity in finding Atlantis and learning of their culture, Kida was interested in Milo and the world he came from. She might be the very first person aside form Mr. Whitmore who acted kindly to Milo right off the bat and asked him to help her save her people and culture. Milo didn’t go for the money, he went because it was his grandfather’s dream, and in turn his dream. They were so cute and fun together as they learned about each other's worlds, and of course, Milo did everything he possibly could to save Kida after she and the crystal bonded, as well as the entire city. Even at the risk of his own life. And just that hug between them at the end and Milo choosing to stay in Atlantis. Just... beautiful. This pair might be subtle, but it's just so sweet and respectful to each other and I just love them.
#9. Duchess and Thomas O’Malley (The Aristocats)
Tumblr media
I think this was one of the first movies I ever saw in my life. My mom said I used to watch it all the time as a kid anyways. Heck, pretty sure this movie is why I love cats so much.
Anyways, this pair is cute. Duchess is a classy lady, while Thomas is a swinger. But they just have this natural chemistry the minute that they met. They don’t judge each other from their different walks of life or anything. You can tell that Duchess was charmed the second Thomas first came on. But what sells is, while thrown off for a moment, when Thomas realizes Duchess has kittens? He pretty much goes into dad mode instantly and tries to keep them happy/protect them. I mean he didn't have to help Marie when she fell out of the milk truck at that point, but he did it because it was the right thing to do. He wasn't one of those assholes who got thrown off cause the girl had kids. Heck, that seemed to bring them closer together.
But yeah, it’s just nice and charming to me. There’s nothing real deep about it, but IDK. There’s just something endearing about it to me. Maybe t’s due to Eva Gabor’s performance as Duchess, which also kinda helps with a pairing later on. But I just find them charming and Thomas showed to be a good guy and a good father figure. Sometimes you don’t need a lot of depth for a pair, you just gotta make the sense of romance come off. Disney has always been good at that, and this pair demonstrates that.
#8. Cinderella/Prince Charming (Cinderella)
Tumblr media
So to be fair this one has little to no development. Which is kind fo a thing with some of the early Disney films n it’s things like this that Frozen pointed out... even though it kinda fell into the same cliche, but ah well. But you know what? As I said, Disney is usually pretty damn good at making you like a pair, even if it’s out of focus. This one is a prime example. We don’t see much of the Prince, but at the same time there is so much there.
Throughout the movie, we saw Cinderella belittled and abused by her stepfamily. She’s treated like a slave and gets her dreams literally torn apart right in front of her eyes. But she tries to remain kind and hopeful, and the Fairy Godmother rewards her for it. She gets the one night at the Bal. She didn’t go intending to find love, he went because for one time in her life since her parents died, she could have one night of happiness. That was all she wanted. Then Charming saw her. It was him who got struck with love at first sight It was him who walked out on th other girls and approached her. A prince noticed this girl who felt that she was a lowly servant, and danced with her. FOr Cinderella, that had to be so touching and amazing that can we blame her for being so in love after? After someone finally, finally gave her some long overdue affection.
Yeah in RL this can be dangerous. But it isn’t RL. It’s a fairy tale. Cindy earned her happy ending. And if we needed genuine proof about the Prince, A Twist in Time showed that he was indeed a good, heroic person. He didn’t judge Anastasia off her looks. When he found out the truth, he went to find Cinderella and remembered his love for her. He never cared that Cindy was a servant or anything. He loved her when he saw her, and clearly loved her for who she was. Cindy found someone who would give her the love that was so cruelly denied form her and she got out of her abusive family through it. Is it perfect? No, and I can give the remake points for doing a better job at developing the romance. But even so, it’s just s beautiful pair I loved since like... three years old. As such IDC what anyone says, I will always love them.
#7. Belle/Beast aka Adam (Beauty and the Beast)
Tumblr media
It might be a surprise to some, but... I’m not a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast. Don’t get me wrong, I like it. I just feel like Belle, compared to Ariel and some of the later princesses is a little too boring. I still love her though. She’s bookish and kind and is seen as weird by her town, but she pursues what she enjoys anyways. She refuses Gaston’s advances as, while she had expressed wanting love, she didn’t want it with a brute like him. She wanted to choose herself. Then The Beast happens.
People tot his day still like to throw the Stockholm Syndrome card around, but it is idiotic. Belle never caved to Beast when he acted like a brute. But he did see that he wasn't a bad person when he saved her from the wolves, ad she chose to tend to him because she’s a good person. Yes, Beast needs her to break the curse, but Belle doesn’t just cave in either. Beast has to change himself to earn Belles's affection, and over time he does. He learns to be kinder and sure it’s a work in progress, but he does try and he does become better. It goes form needing Belle out of necessity, to genuinely falling in love with her because of her kindness towards him. Belle made Beast a better person, and once she saw the person he truly was, she fell in love with him.
But even then, despite those feelings, Belle decides to leave because her father needed her. Beast, instead of trying to force her to stay, allows her to go. That’s how much he loved her at that point. He loved her enough to let her go, even though that meant he’d be doomed. But it’s through that act, that selflessness, that allows the curse to eventually break. Because of Belle, Beast broke away form being a monster and spared Gaston. Because Belle saw the good in Beast, she stood up to Gaston and went back to save the man she loved. Because of that love, the curse was broken, and Beast became Adam once more. Belle saved Adam. Even if I’m not a huge fan of that film, it’s such a beautiful demonstration of the power of love and they truly deserved each other. A tale as old as time, indeed.
#6. Miss Bianca/Bernard (The Rescuers)
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE MOST UNDERRATED DISNEY SHIP EVER.
I love these two so much. Again, its a rather understated pair, but it just works. Bernard is the nervous janitor of the Rescue Aid Society, but he clearly believes int heir cause as shown when he sings the anthem outside. Bianca is the Sweedish representative who has many admirers, but her heart is set on her job. She takes a liking to Bernard because she sees that compared to pretty much everyone else, he believes in rescuing those in trouble with the same passion as she does. He also shows how much he cares for her by being worried about her going to save Penny. Not because she’s a girl, but because he wants her to be safe. That clearly touched her and is why she picked him to be her co-agent.
They both work well together, Binca encouraging Bernard and being the charmer, more relaxed one. Bernard is frequently nervous, but he has a clear knack for the job and does it well. By the time they are on the way to Devil’s Bayou, it’s clear that they’ve acknowledged their feelings for one another. Ther’s no major arc or anything, it’s just two individuals feeling mutually attracted and feeling comfortable with their feelings. They work very well together and manage to rescue Penny, and later Doby in the sequel. The sequel retains the same charm, and the end where Bernard finally proposes makes me smile big every single time.
It’s just a lovely pairing that works so well and it is soooo underrated. It needs more love.
#5. Tiana/Prince Naveen (The Princess and the Frog)
Tumblr media
I love this pair so much. It’s a classic ‘came from two different worlds’ story. You have the hard-working and ambitious Tiana and the lazy, spoiled Prince Naveen. Tiana is a good person, but she tends to put work over everything else and never lets herself relax. Naveen is a fun and intelligent man, but he’s spoiled and doesn’t know how to do anything, which caused his parents to cut him off. Due to this, Naveen got himself cured and he ended up passing it onto Tiana.
It is through each other that they find what is missing. Naveen has someone who actually pushes him to work and to realize his own flaws. How he doesn’t know how to act in the real world, even though he shows that he has plenty of skills if he tried. Having someone like Tiana who didn’t fall for his charm and pushed him to actually do things got him to better himself, and it clearly drew him to her. With Tiana, Naveen helped her see that there is more to life than working hard. It’s okay to take a step back and to find things like love. Her dream will always be there, but love will only come around every so often. It helps Tiana ease up and believe in things like wishing stars again, and it paid off for her.
Even at the end, when it looks like they’ll never become human, they accept it. Naveen almost gives up his freedom to marry Charlotte not to turn human again but to let Tiana fulfill her dream. Tiana realizes that she loves Naveen and even if it means losing what she wanted, she’ll still have what she needs, just like her father did. But it works out as once they get married, Tiana is now a princess and their kiss breaks the spell. Tiana got her dream. Naveen did everything he could to make that dream happen, including work with his own bare hands. They got the thing they both wanted and needed, and it’s just beautiful. Neither one are perfect, but their love is genuine, and I adore them and their journey,
#4. Hercules/Meg (Hercules)
Tumblr media
I just realises that 5-2 are all from Musher and Clements directed films. Huh. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised though. Those two are so good at making likable couples. Even if they only have to much time to develop them, they make them good and their live believable and I love them. Hercules and Meg are no exception.
Unlike other heroines, Meg is a little older and less innocent. Herc is the more innocent one this time around. Herc is a good-hearted guy trying to figure out who he is and wants to be a hero to reunite with his God family. He saves Meg where despite some clumsiness, he pulls it off. Meg is clearly amused and Herc is lovestruck by her beaut. But of course, Meg is with Hades due to selling her soul to save her lover... who left her for another woman. Meg is cynical and hurt, and considering she pretty much gave up her soul for a man who left her without so much as a thank you, it’s hard to blame her.
Even though Hades makes her get close to Herc to find his weakness, Meg ends up falling for him due to his kindness and genuine heroic heart. She’s in denial of it because of what she experienced, but he wins her over. So much so that even if it means eternal servitude, she refuses to help Hades anymore. Unfortunately, it only gives Hades what he needs to break Herc, and it hurts them both. But despite clearly being heartbroken by the deception and being powerless, Herc trie to save everyone anyways. THen Meg sacrifices herself to save him and restore his power, making Herc realize she did really love him. Herc grew to love Meg because she was smart, funny, and she made him feel less alone. Seeing that she was willing to die for him, despite all that happened, really showed how strong that love truly was. Meg again sacrificed herself to save who she loved, and Hercules proved he was a hero by going to the Underworld himself to save Meg. He was willing to sell his own soul to let Meg leave, and this act got him his full Godhood restored.
But the best part? At the end despite finally being deemed a True Hero and being back at Mount Olympus, what does Hercules do? He gives it up. For Meg. He finally found the place he came form... but it wasn’t where he belonged. He belonged on Earth. The place that raised him. The place he found Meg. His parents are stunned, but clearly happy for him and grant his wish. They finally get to kiss, and it feels so earned. Hercules found someone who loves him for him and can fill the void. Meg found some genuinely kind who would never leave or hurt her. That's the best way to describe this pair, genuine.
#3. Ariel/Eric (The Little Mermaid)
Tumblr media
In many ways, this pairing set up the basis for many pairings to come.
Ariel is a mermaid who wants to be human. Eric is an adventurous prince wanting to enjoy life. One fateful night, Ariel stumbled upon his ship and it was love at first sight. Not just on her end either. When she saved him, Eric got one glimpse at her, but could only remember her voice. He wanted to find this mysterious girl again (a fact many critics seem to ignore) and thus the stage is set. After Triton destroys her grotto, Ariel takes Ursula’s deal and becomes human, and gets her chance to woo Eric.
These two are just adorable. People still get on Ariel for her choice here, and yeah she fell in love super fast. But she already wanted to be human, and I think some of her feelings were more infatuation than real love at first. But once humans, we see that Eric is a genuinely nice guy. Even though he thinks Ariel isn’t the girl since she can’t talk, what doe she do? He takes her to the palace anyways because clearly, she needs help and shelter, and he’s willing to give her that. I think that’s what gets Ariel to truly love him, seeing that he’s a good person and kind of her ideal vision of what humans are like. Then Ariel, despite being mute, is just so charming and weet that Eric ends up feeling attracted to her. So much sot hat once Grimm points it out to him, he gives up on his curiosity over the girl who saved him and is about to turn his affections towards Ariel. Sure Ursula messed that up, but it showed that no, he didn’t fall for Ariel because it turned out she was that girl. He fell in love with Ariel because of who Ariel was. Just as she fell for him because of who he was.
I truly did not care that their romance was rushed. It was genuinely charming and sweet. They were both good people, and seeing two good people happy is perfectly fine. Especially at the end where once she found out what Ursula was doing, Ariel went after them even though she couldn’t swim in her human form. Eric, despite being human, went to save Ariel from Ursula, and she, in turn, saved him from getting blasted. Then Eric finished Ursula once and for all, nearly getting killed int he process but this proves himself worthy to Triton. He grants Ariel legs, and the two can finally be together. The critics and ‘feminists’ can say what they want, they are adorable and just good for each other and as I said, are the template for so many couples afterwards. I love them, dang it!
#2. Aladdin/Princess Jasmine (Aladdin)
Tumblr media
IDK what it is about these two! They’re just so... perfect! IDK how to explain why, but I’m gonna try.
Like I said, Musker and Clements are just really good at making likable pairs. Aladdin is a street rat striving for more. Jasmine is a princess who wants freedom. When they meet, its true love. It doesn't even feel like Aladdin fell for her cause she was pretty, it truly feels like he saw his soulmate for the first time. Then the two find a common link in feeling trapped in their lives. They both want more. Want to create something better for themselves. And they find that they may just be able to get that through each other. But then Aladidn is arrested and Jafar lies that he was executed, breaking Jasmine and essentially ensuring that she wasn’t going to leave again.
Then Prince Ali shows up. Jasmine is angered because he appears pompous and because her everyone si trying to make decisions about her without her consent. She isn’t a prize to be won. Ali, of course, is Aladdin, and once Jasmine tells him off, he realizes how the persona he’s putting on is wrong. He acts more like himself, showing that he likes Jasmine not because of her looks or money, but because she’s a fun, strong-willed person. Once she sees this and suspects he’s Aladdin, she goes with him on the magic carpet. A Whole New World is one of the most romantic scenes in any movie period. You will never be able to convince me otherwise. It ends with Jasmine realizing Ali’s identity, and while he still lies, Aladdin acts like himself and Jasmine falls for the person he truly is.
But of course, Aladdin is still lying. So he still needs to prove himself worthy after. Which he does by defeating Jafar despite having only his street rat skills to aid him. But he accomplishes it masterfully. He realizes that he can't live a lie or force Genie into servitude just to fulfill his won want. He frees Genie, but he didn't need his magic by then. he more than proved himself to the Sultan, who lets Jasmine choose who she wants. I think he’d have done this long before if not for Jafar’s hypnosis, and the smile of Jasmine’s face is just beautiful. She chooses Aladdin, and it is indeed a whole new world for both of them. It’s just so genuine and pure and I love them.
So... back at the top, I said there was one exception to the ‘strictly form Disney animated features’ rule. Why? Because I just could not leave this one off. It would feel wrong because it is one of, if not the, most perfect and longest-lasting couples in all fo entertainment. Who am I talking about?
#1. Mickey and Minnie Mouse
Tumblr media
As the old saying goes: it all started with a mouse.
Mickey and Minnie is so freakin pure it makes me feel the warm fuzzies if I so much as see a photo of them. Really, anything they are in together makes me feel that way. For over ninety years, these two have graced pretty much every media form ever and have been together in some fashion throughout it. They have the same birthday and last name for crying out loud! This was destiny!
Both Mickey and Minnie are sweet and endearing. Mickey is the face of Disney and while I know some find him bland and one-note, there’s always just been this charm to him. I love how much of a sweetie he is, and he does have his mischevious streak. Minnie over the years has become more sassy and stern, letting her not just be Mickey’s girlfriend. But no matter what changes the two have been through, their utter love for each other has never faded away. You can put them in anything in any setting, and they will be head over heel for each other.
I mean even their longest-lasting voice actors, Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor, got married due to these roles. Mickey ad Minie got married in real life. It really showed too. You could just tell that Mickey and Minnie, Wayne and Russi, were just so in love and it made you love them. It’s something that’s gonna be hard due to Wayne and Russi’s passings, but true love is eternal. That love will always exit through Mickey and Minnie. Even when Bret Iwan and Chris Diamantopolis took over Mickey, you still feel the love between Mickey and Minnie and I’m sure that whoever takes over Minnie will also keep that intact. That love is immortalized, and I will continue to love every second of it.
Mickey Mouse is the one who started it all, but Mickey and Minnie are the ones who started Disney’s pure love stories. I think that’s something that Disney has always been good at. Sure the romances can be rushed and happen at first sight. Even they’ve made fun of themselves for it But they’re just so good at it. As they say, don’t fix what ain’t broke. Maybe give it a fresh coat of paint, but don’t fix what doesn't need it. I look forward to seeing future Disney pairs, and I will cherish them all, both old and new Happy Valentines Day everyone~

Bonus Terrors of Tin Street Content
Tomik unfortunately got cut from Chapter Twenty-Three of The Terrors of Tin Street. He’s been moved to Chapter Twenty-Four, however that is a Vraska POV chapter, meaning everything I wrote from Jace’s perspective is pretty much useless.
However I had a lot of fun writing it. So please enjoy this little excerpt that didn’t make it into chapter twenty three.  It doesn’t actually contain the meeting, which will still happen. It’s mostly Jace doing his usual musing. Please enjoy!
ToTS: Jace thinks about Tomik for a bit.
“Who exactly am I meeting?” he asked the nervous looking clerk.
She checked her ever-present clipboard.
“A Mr Tomik Vrona, sir,”
Jace couldn’t help but breath a sigh of relief.
“Thank you.”
She nodded and hurried away as he leant upon the desk, his head in his hands. Well, his afternoon could have been a lot worse.
He’d much rather be dealing with Teysa’s secretary than anyone else in the Orzhov guild. Orzhov officials tended to be so far up their own arses, it was like trying to talk to a wall. If they thought the law was about to take away their precious gold, they backed off faster than a tortoise retreating into its shell. Perhaps that was why Tomik Vrona was so open in comparison. They were never talking about his money.
Jace liked Tomik Vrona for three reasons. The first was the fact he was really easy to talk to. Tomik couldn’t be much older than him, but unlike other officials his age, did not try to flout his superior experience. He was polite and civil, without seeming either patronising or sycophantic. Jace admired anyone who liked to get straight to the point. With enough pleasantries to make their conversation seem natural, when they spoke there was no overly-formal time wasting.
Secondly, he was extremely well informed. Jace didn’t think he wanted to know where Tomik got his information. However, he seemed to know everything that was happening around Vizkopa, whether the parties concerned wanted him to or not. Jace suspected he shared a lot of contacts with Teysa Karlov herself, but even then, he knew a lot for someone who claimed he was ‘just a secretary, occasionally a lawyer’.  If Jace needed to know how well a new law or proposition was going to be received, all he had to do was ask Tomik. Fortunately, it was always Tomik that Teysa sent to do her negotiating. This was probably because she couldn’t leave Vizkopa herself. Regardless, Jace was rather glad to be dealing with him rather than her.
Last but not least, Tomik was just pleasant to be around. His face was a welcome sight amongst people who were always demanding things of him. He did often ask for things, but at least he had the grace to do so pleasantly. It helped that he wasn’t bad to look at either. Jace was never going to share this thought with anyone, but Tomik Vrona was, how to put it, aspirational-ly handsome? Not the sort of man he’d want to date, but the sort of man he’d quite like to look like. Somehow the secretary had managed to achieve a bookish sort of charm and it mixed with an elegant handsomeness that Jace could only dream of. He’d considered finding out whether he needed glasses too. Just so he could do the stern over-the-nose look and the nervous yet charming fiddling thing.  Vraska would probably think he was cute if he pulled off even half of Tomik’s intellectual yet endearing charm.  Asking him how he did it would be way too embarrassing though. He was just going to have to settle for being not-handsome and awkward.

Your Biggest Pet Peeve: “People who do not do as they said they would.” He said is cooly and shrugged. “I don’t like people with egos, the egos will always be pealed away and we will see a shadow of their inflated self, like taking the fat off of a large man and you see only atrophied limbs.”
Your Ambition for the Future: “I want to be a teacher, to show people that while Witchcraft has been used for evil, it should be seen as another force of magic, like shadow or blood magic.”

My uncle has done it since his wife died, it just felt like that’s what my fate was since no one ever clicked in my mind and heart. But I do have to say, if someone who loves you cannot respect you, you are in the wrong relationship.”
Beauty or Brains: “Brains, always, I love unconventional beauty anyway.”

LAYER SIX: EVER?
Been on Stage: “Does speaking in front of a large crowd count?”
Done Drugs: “Maybe? If we are just saying mind altering substances, a few times for rituals.”

LAYER SEVEN: FAVORITES
Favorite Color: “Dark orange red.”
Favorite Animal: “Bears are awe inspiring to me. We don’t have them in Drustvar but the Thornspeakers have a form that looks like a bear. When I came to Silverpine Alle took me hunting and I got to see one. It was vicious and beautiful.”
Favorite Food: “It doesn’t have a good translation into common.” Lorcan then pulled over his plate that had a veal cutlet that was flattened, breaded, and fried. There’s a brown gravy on top and strange squiggly noodles tot he side. “It’s really good and reminds me of home.”
Favorite Game: “We have a game we play in the compound. One of the cousins takes an item and shows it to us. This can be a spoon or hammer, anything really. Everyone is sent just outside of the compound and the item is place somewhere in plain sight. Everything comes back and starts to look for it. When you find the items you must take a seat. It’s really a good idea to go to a different room so you don’t give away the item’s location. When the last person finds the item they get to take the item and hide it in the next round. It’s simple fun I play with a lot of my younger cousins. Catrina has never had to hide the object, she has a beast’s eyes.”
LAYER EIGHT: AGE

How Old Will You Be: “I think I’ll be 23.”

Best Eye Color: “I don’t actually care. I don’t want to fall in love with eyes, I want to fall in love with a soul.”
Best Hair Color: “I don’t really care... but... I do like red hair, at least, I have before.”
Best thing to do with a Partner: “Cuddle in a soft bed after a long day of work... would be better if she was warm, but, I’ll take what I have for now and be utterly happy.”

After the evaluation, each student receives a learning plan based on their abilities and interests. This tailor-made way of learning helps meet the different needs of different students. It also gives each student an equal chance of participation and helps them connect better.
Tech-enabled classrooms
We all are aware of how virtual learning is becoming more prominent these days. Owing to a constantly evolving world, our teachers are trained with the right expertise in teaching through tech-enabled classrooms. We equip our faculty with the right digital tools for in-class management and practical learning. All our classrooms are equipped with the latest smart class systems. From interactive storytelling to mind-boggling 3D concepts, tech-enabled classrooms make everything better!
Scientifically designed
Our modern curriculum is a scientifically designed framework to foster knowledge and smart skills. We consider every minuscule detail of a child's intellectual and social development and consider all those factors. Our curriculum is entirely based on new generation requirements and challenges and has been crafted for the holistic development of every student. Not only do we impart knowledge and skills, but we make your children ready to face their future endeavors in the best way possible!
Experiential learning
Experiential learning is a dynamic learning process where students are encouraged to “learn by doing.” The skills and morals they learn out of various practical experiments reflect their experience. It creates terrific opportunities for students to enhance themselves intellectually, creatively, emotionally, socially, and physically. Not only do they gain knowledge and skills, but they can also better connect and understand the subject.
Child centric
Gone are the days when students in a classroom were handled as a whole. Unlike traditional teacher-centered learning, this approach makes students the center. Each student’s voice matters, and not everyone can learn in the same way! Our child-centric learning system encourages each student to learn at their own pace. Instead of instructing the students, we impart skills that help students develop a learner attitude and reduce dependency.
Project-based
Project-based learning is similar to experiential learning that involves individual and team-based participation of students. Involvement in projects helps students collaborate with others and “learn by doing.” Our interactive projects include a range of tasks that can be done at home or in the classroom. Parents and group participation are highly encouraged to promote easy and quick team learning. Project-based learning enables students to explore real-world challenges actively and acquire more profound knowledge.
Skill-based outcomes
As a prime educational institute, we believe in the comprehensive development of students. Apart from theoretical knowledge, we emphasize and prioritize soft skills that help your children in their future endeavors. We offer a roadmap to achieve skill-based outcomes, including technical skills related to a given situation and how a child can use these skills efficiently. This allows us to teach students how to achieve the correct answer and maintain these life-long skills.
