MARCH 26, 2024 FLYERS @ RANGERS, 6-5 OTL
IN TONIGHT'S GAME, Samuel Ersson had:
21 saves
6 goals against
.778 SV%
Sometimes I worry that the Flyers' style of defense doesn't work well for Ersson. He's mentioned in multiple interviews that he prefers to see shots on goal early on in the game, to get a feel for the puck and to warm up, but in tonight's game there were long stretches of time, minutes and minutes of play, where he didn't see a shot. And while the self-sacrificing nature of Flyers defense might look good on paper and prevents many a goal, does it also have a tendency to mindfuck our goalie? I think it's not out of the question to speculate that that might be an issue that Sandström faces as well, though I don't know for sure.
In Ersson's postgame interview he was visibly upset: "Obviously I know I gotta come up with a couple of saves, it's... tough, I felt like in the times they had the shots they went in, I didn't really get to feel that puck that much in the third, so it's one of those things I gotta find a way to handle it better mentally and come up with those saves when the team needs it."
Ersson's at the high end of what I'm generally seeing as the league median for high danger scoring shots against – 16.5% of the shots he faces are high danger chances. Seems like most goalies face around 14.5-16% – there are some outliers, like Shesterkin (17.3%) or Jordan Binnington, at a whopping 18% – but factored in for the fact that the Flyers are blocking shots at a league-leading rate? Shouldn't his high-danger SA be lower simply due to the fact that more shots are blocked? For example, the Isles and the Panthers may not be shot-blockers, but Ilya Sorokin faces only 14.5% HD SA; Bobrovsky faces 14.7%.
What I'm trying to get at is that while the Flyers block a number of low-danger or good scoring chances, they leave their rookie goaltender vulnerable to a higher average of high-danger shots through a lack of defense in other areas of the game, and simultaneously don't allow him to practice making saves and getting comfortable in the net. When he does face a shot, it's often high-danger: multiple opponents crashing the net, or a speedy forward on a breakaway. Ersson made his last save of the game at 3:23 of the 3rd period. The next shot he faced was over 6 in-game minutes later, and you won't believe what it was: a shorthanded 2-on-1 breakaway with Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck, and we all know how that one ended up. Man, six minutes. You get cold. Even a pro.
Much love for Sam Ersson. He looked pretty upset in the postgame. Being a Flyers goaltender's not for the faint of heart. You got this, bud.
Samuel Ersson stats during the Gauntlet:
5 out of 7 GS
2-1-2 record
.847 SV%
122 saves
17 goals against

Behind the Scenes of Planet of the Dead - Part 16
Interview excerpt from TV Week:
Interviewer: Catherine Tate used to complain that you ran too fast, David. Did you find this a problem, Michelle?
Michelle Ryan: I was shocked, because I was once the Bionic Woman and I can sprint really fast. But David’s like a panther - and I fell on my face running after him down the sand dunes. My legs just kind of buckled under me.
David Tennant: But I was actually having a bit of a wobble after I’d done my back in - so Michelle got all the stunts that were originally meant for me.
Michelle Ryan: Yeah, I had to be dangled 50ft up from the top of a building. But, after the initial ‘oooh’, you kind of get over it.

@austerulous (headcanons) (not acc)
1. We have already touched up on this through Discord, but time for some re-emphasis: Annie and Marcel being two of the little Warriors who never, at any point, bought into the whole Marleyan propaganda of the honor of being a Warrior to cleanse the world of the sins of your ancestors. I like the idea of them having a mutual, silent understanding of their situation, be it in Marley or on Paradis. They both understand the revolting unfairness of their situation, and neither of them has the power to do anything against it. Just little scenes of them on Paradis or before a mission on the continent as children, quietly sitting together, thinking ‘welp this sucks, but let’s grit our teeth and get through it so that we can go home to our families’. Something about two disillusioned characters sticking together through thick and skin.
2. Marcel loves sparring with Annie. She’s the best in hand-to-hand combat out of all of them, and there is nothing he loves more than a good challenge - even if she kicks his ass a lot more often than not, he learns something new out of it every time! Besides, being a speedy boy and determined to use that at his advantage, he could give her a run for her money before inevitably biting the dust. Annie supremacy all the way.
3. There is something definitely feline about the Jaw titan (though closer to big felines like lions and panthers and cheetahs, probably), and I remember and dug back into your headcanons tag to find it you saying that Annie has an affinity with birds and cats -- I fully believe Marcel would enjoy feeding stray cats back in Marley, and should he notice that Annie likes cats/does the same thing, he would pester her until they go and see and feed the cats together.  🥺 Mostly because this panel kills me every time (and would send Marcel into a fit of laughter), but also because sweet little bonding times to try and get Annie out of her shell just a teeny tiny little bit.
4.In a Paradis-based verse, I think Marcel would rely on Annie much more than he would on the other two to help him shoulder this operation (obviously depending on everyone’s interpretation of what Marcel not dying would mean for Reiner’s character development, mostly). Like we discussed on discord, she remains firmly by his side and trusts his skills to see this mission through, and with Bertholdt and Reiner going through their own issues following their run-in with Ymir and the fall of Wall Maria,  I think Marcel would look to Annie for support and stability. She keeps a cool head even in dire situations, she firmly holds onto their objective of going home. Of course Marcel seeks to protect all three of them, but he would trust Annie more with side tasks and more intricate details necessary to bring their plan to completion. Grey eminence Annie ftw!

@rosaren2498 Requested: Sherlock X Reader: Reader goes on a date with Jim and he drugs her. She wakes up on the top of a tall building. When Sherlock gets there, Jim threatens to drop reader over the edge, using a gun to keep Sherlock at bay. John, on the roof of another building, ends up shooting Jim in the shoulder and Sherlock just barely catches the Reader. Sherlock thinks that because John technically saved Reader, that she'll want to be with him but she tells him she's been in love with him for several years.
My notes: It's not exactly what you requested—very very similar—but not exact. This kind of just came out and I didn't want to stop it. I think you'll like it anyway. Enjoy! :)
...
Sherlock was practically bouncing off the walls. He was anything but calm, going through some sort of tantrum only a brilliant consulting detective would undergo. His fingers twitched and ran along the fabric of his trousers and then would curl into fists. He searched for another letter and threw an encyclopedia over his head, not caring where it landed. His Belstaff coat waved and fluttered as he paced the flat, muttering to himself. He itched for a good case, but there were none to find. For once in his life, London was quiet.
Just as Sherlock stormed out of the living room, John strolled in with a coffee cup in hand. He sent a curious look back before approached you. “I figure he’ll be at it for a while. You planning on going out?”
You were prepared to say no, but you caught your tongue. What would a little you-time hurt? You could get a drink, maybe relax for the rest of the evening. You deserved it. "Yeah. Yeah, I think I might do that." You stood from your chair, grinning at the army doctor.
John smiled and clapped a hand on your back. "You enjoy yourself. I'll stay here and make sure he doesn't tear the flat apart."
You laughed.
///
Going out for the evening made you realize how often your world revolved around Sherlock Holmes.
The man always had a case to keep you and John on your toes. And when the day was through, the two of you had made a routine of making hot chocolate and watching the telly until you both fell asleep on the sofa. You tried to invite Sherlock, but he was quick to excuse himself. You figured he wasn't interested.
John was nice. You had a hunch that he liked you. He was overly kind and would ask questions spontaneously, curious in your responses. Again, John was nice, but your heart just wasn't clicking. It didn't click like it did with Sherlock.
Tonight you had decided on Speedy's Cafe. It was a typical choice of yours, but the fish and chips were calling to you. And a childish grin pulled at your face when the plate was set in front of you, steam rolling off the chicken as you tore it.
A man strolled up, hesitantly smiling. He was well dressed; his clothes sang classy. After hanging out with Sherlock so long, you began to notice small details, like the expensive wristwatch or the way he held himself. This was a confident, rich man. Possibly dangerous, but somewhat enticing. What's the harm in a little danger?
He gave you a lazy smile, cool as a cucumber. "I just saw you from across the diner. And I couldn't help but notice your beauty. Could I buy you a drink?" His voice was smooth. Flattery. That's one way to get the girl.
Is he date worthy? You examined him. His black hair was slicked back and his suit was elegant and dark. Like a raven or a silver fox. And the dimples that formed when he smiled were rather charming. His eyes were dark and he was the night.
Wow. Okay. That was poetic. 10/10. He's dateable.
Rats. You're staring at him too long. You still need to answer his question.
Habitually, you would skip out on alcohol. It made it hard to focus on difficult or dangerous cases, and hangovers the day after were rather discouraging. However, you decided to treat yourself today. "That would amazing. Thank you!"
"Not a problem." He turned, catching your eye before slinking off to the bar like a panther.
You sunk into your chair a bit when he was out of view. You were posing like some sort of house plant. Idiot. You might as well leave right now before you embarrass yourself. It's why Sherlock doesn't care for you.
You stayed. At least give him a chance. Let him decide if you're an idiot or not.
As these thoughts sunk in, you saw him approaching again. Too late now. The man set the drink in front of you, settling himself in the chair across from you. He put out a firm hand, grinning at you. "Jim."
You told him your name, beaming back at him.
The date was nice. Refreshing, even. You could feel the alcohol working in your system. It made you a bit floaty feeling, but in a pleasant way.
After a little while, however, it turned on you. The room spun about you and you shut your eyes. It was the lights. The lights burned. You felt a headache forming. Why..? You shook your head, standing. You were tipsy and almost wiped out onto the floor if a hand hadn't caught your arm.
It was Jim. "Sorry," he apologized to a nearby family, who was sending concerned looks. "She got ahead of herself. Completely wasted."
The hand pulled on your arm, leading you out of the building. Why was it pulling? What was going… You crumpled as you vomited on the pavement near the diner. With a clumsy hand, you wiped your mouth. You felt disgusting. What had been in..? Why were you so..?
What?
///
John got a call at 10 o'clock.
He sighed, getting up from the sofa and abandoning his late night telly to find his phone.
He did a double-take at the caller. He stared for a small second before muttering. "Mr.Chatterjee?" He was the owner of Speedy's Cafe.
"Mr.Chatterjee?!" Sherlock bellowed from his bedroom. John listened as the detective flew down the stairs, taking the steps two at a time. He burst around the corner, marching over to where John held his phone. He took it from John's hands to inspect the screen.
John nodded. "Yeah, not sure why he's calling us so late."
The phone stopped ringing, and then began ringing again as Mr.Chatterjee called a second time.
They both stared at it.
"It must be urgent."
Sherlock hummed. "Yes, it must." A quick finger allowed the call. He put it on loudspeaker.
"John?"
"It's Sherlock."
"Oh. Well, hello. I was concerned about your lady friend tonight. I thought I'd call and make sure she arrived home safe."
"Mmm, no. She hasn't shown up yet."
"Oh, dear."
John sent an alarmed glance to Sherlock as he said evenly, "Why? What's wrong?"
The sound crinkled through the phone, signifying movement. "Well, there was a gentleman with her tonight. Said he'd take her home. She was half-awake when they left."
"And you just let them leave?"
"He was very convincing, mind you. A waiter here actually told me about it. She was worried for her. Said he spun quite a tale…" He sighed, clearly distressed about his decisions. "It gnawed at me for a while. I figured I couldn't be too careful. I guess I'm glad I called."
John breathed, "I am too. What'd he look like?"
"I didn't see him, unfortunately. Waiter said he had black hair, dressed nice. A real fox of a man, she said: clever, handsome, but also deadly. That reminds me. He left a note on his tip." There was some more choppy background noises, like he was opening drawers in search for something. "Oh, here—it says 'IOU'. Now whatever could that mean? I mean, I know it's—"
Sherlock pressed 'End Call'.
John observed the detective, who refused to remove his eyes from the phone screen, stuck in a memory. The color in his face had blanched to a pale grey. He patted Sherlock's shoulder. Sherlock's bright eyes were dull with fear, finally linking with John's. "It's him."
John blinked in bewilderment. Mr.Chatterjee? "H—". No. Moriarty? He blinked some more, denying the idea. "Moriarty? He's dead. He's—"
"It's him." Sherlock ran his hands through his hair, pulling and tugging like it would plant solutions into his brain. He shook his head. "It's him, John. It's Moriarty."
///
Most of it is a whirlwind of fading memories and feeling miserable. You just wanted to lie down. Why wouldn't this man let you lie down?
The sky was a blurry shadow with grey splotches where stars should be; granted, your vision was unfocused. It was night now and you just wanted to sleep. This man was intent on bringing you somewhere.
You were packed into a car. Now that your were lying horizontally, your eyes began to droop and your neck fell back with the weight of your head. But before you could pass out, you were quickly escorted out.
Or… they tried. Your legs gave out, resulting in arms sweeping from underneath you. The wind was bone-chilling. You curled into your sweater and, though a feeble effort, tried to preserve some warmth. Your muscles in your arms had gone completely lax and your legs trembled. You were paralyzed and just barely able to observe what was going on. "What…" you slurred.
When you opened your eyes again, you were staring 4 stories down at London. You were sedated, therefore all you could do was watch the cars pass as you distantly remembered how dangerous this was. Why couldn't you..?
The man, what was his name? Jim. He held your collar and forced you to lean just enough over the edge of the building so you peered down at those on the sidewalk.
Huh.
A noise shuffled behind him. Jim sang, "Oh, Sherlock Holmes. You're late."
"Let her go, Moriarty."
Jim gave a dark laugh. "Poor choice of words there." He faked a push, to which you flailed, and then grabbed your collar tighter so that you would wheeze when you breathed, like a chained dog.
Sherlock took a cautious step forward.
"Maybe… there isn't anything you can do. Maybe… I just want you to watch her fall because you couldn't save her." Jim laughed to himself. "Oh, do I love to watch you flounder. So helpless when it comes to the lives of those you love." He hummed. "But, I guess that's not what you came here for. So tell me, Sherlock Holmes, would you jump again?"
Sherlock watched him. His face was unreadable.
Before Sherlock could answer, a gunshot sounded and Moriarty crumpled.
Sherlock managed to grab your sleeve before you toppled off the roof. You were completely limp in his arms.
"John Watson! My, what a good shot you are!" Moriarty cackled turning to face the army doctor behind him. "Wow!" Blood seeped through his hands.
Sherlock couldn't move.
John took over, checking your pulse and prying open your eyelids to take a look at your pupils.
"It's Rohypnol," Sherlock finally said.
John didn't look up. "I'm a doctor, Sherlock, I know."
Sherlock was silent.
///
“I don’t remember anything.”
"Rohypnol. You were drugged last night." He fluffed your pillow and laid a blanket over your form.
Your muscles were tense and aching, while your skin tingled and itched and numb in random patches. You shook your head. "But the… but the thing… he..." Your head hurt really bad, like a hangover without the nausea. You were restless, and so confused. What happened? Headaches. Headaches happened. "I don't remember anything." You were angry.
"That's normal."
Your mind was slow to process everything still, but when you looked around the room, you noticed an absence. "Where's Sherlock?"
John shrugged. "Around. Probably tripping over himself trying to find another case."
You frowned. "He didn't visit me?"
"Mmm, not that I know of. He's been sort of distant lately." He stared at the smiley face spray painted on the wall. "Very distant…" He stood. "If you'll excuse me for a bit. Here, I'll put on the telly." He quickly passed the remote to you and left the room.
He peered in the kitchen, finding no one. He made his way down the stairs and to the door. He opened it, walking outside. It was snowing.
"Sherlock."
Sherlock didn't look to John. He stood at the side of the door, staring at the light traffic that drove by.
"You can't punish yourself, Sherlock. You froze up. It happens. Get over it and get in there! She wants to see you."
Sherlock didn't bother denying John's accusations. It was true. There was no use lying to John Watson; he saw right through the detective's facades. "She almost fell."
"Yes, she almost fell. It could have been me, and if you'd been just a little less brilliant, it could have been you." John berated him. He was clearly angry. "I just don't understand it."
Sherlock finally looked John in the eyes. "What?"
John kicked at the snow. He scoffed, "What. What. You're oblivious, that's what! You can read a man's story by the stain on his tie or the scar on his cheek, but you can't even see it, can you?"
The blank stare Sherlock gave him answered his suspicions.
"For a genius, Sherlock, you're an absolute idiot."
Their silence was masked by the howling of the winds and heavy snowfall.
"She loves you. And I don't get it. I try to get her attention. I really do. She's not interested in the slightest. You—you ignore her and she still loves you. She loves you." John glared in frustration. How could Sherlock not see? "She loves you and you even try to love her back."
Sherlock continued to stare. John suspected his brilliant mind finally short-circuited.
John breathed deeply, calming himself. His tone became gentle, possibly disappointed. Maybe sad. "Now get in there. She's asking for you."
///
You perked when the detective walked in, beaming at him. "Sherlock!" You muted the telly, more interested in the man before you. "Well, don't be shy, come on—"
"I'm sorry."
That was unexpected.
You let out a snort. "Come on, it's not your fault. I got myself in a stupidly dangerous situation." You grinned. "Sounds like someone I know, eh?"
Sherlock did not smile. "You almost fell because of me."
You stubbornly shook your head. "Nope. Nope. We are not playing the blame game. Come and sit. Watch some telly."
Sherlock did not go and sit. "John’s the one that saved you."
"We're really going to do this? Sherlock, it's not your fault."
"I froze up."
"And I forgive you. Okay? Is that what you wanted to hear? Now, come here—"
"I love you." Sherlock was very serious. "I didn't realize it before. I took you for granted."
The fluttery feeling in your stomach eased some of your pain. "Well, I love you too, for the record. Maybe I could have a better date?"
And Sherlock softly smiled.

Marriage by Marianne Moore
This institution, perhaps one should say enterprise out of respect for which one says one need not change one's mind about a thing one has believed in, requiring public promises of one's intention to fulfill a private obligation: I wonder what Adam and Eve think of it by this time, this firegilt steel alive with goldenness; how bright it shows -- "of circular traditions and impostures, committing many spoils," requiring all one's criminal ingenuity to avoid! Psychology which explains everything explains nothing and we are still in doubt. Eve: beautiful woman -- I have seen her when she was so handsome she gave me a start, able to write simultaneously in three languages -- English, German and French and talk in the meantime; equally positive in demanding a commotion and in stipulating quiet: "I should like to be alone;" to which the visitor replies, "I should like to be alone; why not be alone together?" Below the incandescent stars below the incandescent fruit, the strange experience of beauty; its existence is too much; it tears one to pieces and each fresh wave of consciousness is poison. "See her, see her in this common world," the central flaw in that first crystal-fine experiment, this amalgamation which can never be more than an interesting possibility, describing it as "that strange paradise unlike flesh, gold, or stately buildings, the choicest piece of my life: the heart rising in its estate of peace as a boat rises with the rising of the water;" constrained in speaking of the serpent -- that shed snakeskin in the history of politeness not to be returned to again -- that invaluable accident exonerating Adam. And he has beauty also; it's distressing -- the O thou to whom, from whom, without whom nothing -- Adam; "something feline, something colubrine" -- how true! a crouching mythological monster in that Persian miniature of emerald mines, raw silk -- ivory white, snow white, oyster white and six others -- that paddock full of leopards and giraffes -- long lemonyellow bodies sown with trapezoids of blue. Alive with words, vibrating like a cymbal touched before it has been struck, he has prophesied correctly -- the industrious waterfall, "the speedy stream which violently bears all before it, at one time silent as the air and now as powerful as the wind." "Treading chasms on the uncertain footing of a spear," forgetting that there is in woman a quality of mind which is an instinctive manifestation is unsafe, he goes on speaking in a formal, customary strain of "past states," the present state, seals, promises, the evil one suffered, the good one enjoys, hell, heaven, everything convenient to promote one's joy." There is in him a state of mind by force of which, perceiving what it was not intended that he should, "he experiences a solemn joy in seeing that he has become an idol." Plagued by the nightingale in the new leaves, with its silence -- not its silence but its silences, he says of it: "It clothes me with a shirt of fire." "He dares not clap his hands to make it go on lest it should fly off; if he does nothing, it will sleep; if he cries out, it will not understand." Unnerved by the nightingale and dazzled by the apple, impelled by "the illusion of a fire effectual to extinguish fire," compared with which the shining of the earth is but deformity -- a fire "as high as deep as bright as broad as long as life itself," he stumbles over marriage, "a very trivial object indeed" to have destroyed the attitude in which he stood -- the ease of the philosopher unfathered by a woman. Unhelpful Hymen! "a kind of overgrown cupid" reduced to insignificance by the mechanical advertising parading as involuntary comment, by that experiment of Adam's with ways out but no way in -- the ritual of marriage, augmenting all its lavishness; its fiddle-head ferns, lotus flowers, opuntias, white dromedaries, its hippopotamus -- nose and mouth combined in one magnificent hopper, "the crested screamer -- that huge bird almost a lizard," its snake and the potent apple. He tells us that "for love that will gaze an eagle blind, that is like a Hercules climbing the trees in the garden of the Hesperides, from forty-five to seventy is the best age," commending it as a fine art, as an experiment, a duty or as merely recreation. One must not call him ruffian nor friction a calamity -- the fight to be affectionate: "no truth can be fully known until it has been tried by the tooth of disputation." The blue panther with black eyes, the basalt panther with blue eyes, entirely graceful -- one must give them the path -- the black obsidian Diana who "darkeneth her countenance as a bear doth, causing her husband to sigh," the spiked hand that has an affection for one and proves it to the bone, impatient to assure you that impatience is the mark of independence not of bondage. "Married people often look that way" -- "seldom and cold, up and down, mixed and malarial with a good day and bad." "When do we feed?" We occidentals are so unemotional, we quarrel as we feed; one's self is quite lost, the irony preserved in "the Ahasuerus tête à tête banquet" with its "good monster, lead the way," with little laughter and munificence of humor in that quixotic atmosphere of frankness in which "Four o'clock does not exist but at five o'clock the ladies in their imperious humility are ready to receive you"; in which experience attests that men have power and sometimes one is made to feel it. He says, "what monarch would not blush to have a wife with hair like a shaving-brush? The fact of woman is not `the sound of the flute but every poison.'" She says, "`Men are monopolists of stars, garters, buttons and other shining baubles' -- unfit to be the guardians of another person's happiness." He says, "These mummies must be handled carefully -- `the crumbs from a lion's meal, a couple of shins and the bit of an ear'; turn to the letter M and you will find that `a wife is a coffin,' that severe object with the pleasing geometry stipulating space and not people, refusing to be buried and uniquely disappointing, revengefully wrought in the attitude of an adoring child to a distinguished parent." She says, "This butterfly, this waterfly, this nomad that has `proposed to settle on my hand for life.' -- What can one do with it? There must have been more time in Shakespeare's day to sit and watch a play. You know so many artists are fools." He says, "You know so many fools who are not artists." The fact forgot that "some have merely rights while some have obligations," he loves himself so much, he can permit himself no rival in that love. She loves herself so much, she cannot see herself enough -- a statuette of ivory on ivory, the logical last touch to an expansive splendor earned as wages for work done: one is not rich but poor when one can always seem so right. What can one do for them -- these savages condemned to disaffect all those who are not visionaries alert to undertake the silly task of making people noble? This model of petrine fidelity who "leaves her peaceful husband only because she has seen enough of him" -- that orator reminding you, "I am yours to command." "Everything to do with love is mystery; it is more than a day's work to investigate this science." One sees that it is rare -- that striking grasp of opposites opposed each to the other, not to unity, which in cycloid inclusiveness has dwarfed the demonstration of Columbus with the egg -- a triumph of simplicity -- that charitive Euroclydon of frightening disinterestedness which the world hates, admitting:
"I am such a cow, if I had a sorrow, I should feel it a long time; I am not one of those who have a great sorrow in the morning and a great joy at noon;" which says: "I have encountered it among those unpretentious protegés of wisdom, where seeming to parade as the debater and the Roman, the statesmanship of an archaic Daniel Webster persists to their simplicity of temper as the essence of the matter:
`Liberty and union now and forever;'
the book on the writing-table; the hand in the breast-pocket."

what are the episodes you liked the most and why?
Ahhhh, I love so many!!! This is going to be hard to narrow down.
1: Papa Garou/Weredad (S3)
This one will always be my fav. I’ve raved about it before here.
2: Animan (S1)
I just love this episode so much. Nino is such a disaster (I love how he is SO MUCH like Marinette when he has a crush. These two were mirroring each other quite a lot, and it was hilarious). Also love all the sweet, sweet Adrien (Adrian? I just forgot how to spell his name. Whatever) and Nino’s friendship. The whole wingman act was on point. One of my fav moments is obviously the part where Adrien and Alya are hiding in the bushes and trying to feed lines to their friends, but Marinette and Nino keep stuffing up. Also PLAGG. Omg, I love it when he’s all “ohoho let me listen too, this is more enttertaining than expected.”
and then we have KIM. I love Kim so much. He is up there in my fav charaters, and only he would be like “I CHALLENGE YOU TO A RACE, SPEEDY PANTHER CREATURE!’ Such an idiot (and I love him for it.)
The reason for why zoo dude gets akumatised is laughably silly, but I do really love this akuma. I like that we get to see Chat showing more of his cat behaviour (THE EAR TWITCH!), and how they hide out at Marinette’s home. (He looks at pictures of her and her family. Nawwwwww). THE T REX! (I had a dinosaur hyperfixation when I was little. Give me dinosaurs and I’m gonna be like “yeaaah boi ,let’s do this!”) And then topped all off with a lovely ladynoir hug.
Yes, I love this episode very much.
3:  The Dark Owl (S2)
I love everything about this episode. Mr Damocles and his comic book hero wannabe antics. The fact Marinettte and Adrien are just like “braaaah, give us a break so we don’t have t keep saving you from trees”. And then when he gets akumatised, I just love his elaborate plot/trap method. THE LADYNOIR DETRANSORM SCENE! OMGGGGG! SO MUCH LOVE FOR THAT SCENE! YES, CAPS FOR ENTHUSIASM ALL THE WAY!
This was such a fun episode and I regularly rewatch it.
4: Mr Pigeon (S1)
I just ... I love this episode in all its beautifully random glory. Mr Pigeon is one of my fav akumas (Roo Roo). Poor Chat tries to be charming and is defeated with sneezes. The ‘act natural” whistle and dance. Cops being snatched by pigeons. Just pigeons. I can’t explain it more than that except this episode is fun and always makes me smile.
(Also, I’m gonna limit myself to 5 because this could go on and on since I love so many episodes. You don’t even know. I’m sititng here like ‘BUT WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE AND THAT ONE AND AHHHHHHHHHH)
Ahem, anyway.
5: Gamer 2.0 (S3)
Another fun episode. Poor Marinette/Ladybug is struggling with all the things that needs to be done and can’t play video games (know that feel), but then AKUMA STRIKES and she gets to play games.
Fav moments: Chat working the Reflekta heels like ‘ho, you got nothing on these moves.” Chat choosing Mr Pigeon in general. Ladybug eventually proving she is the queen of video games and pulling out all the strategy. Chat trusting her completely because he believes in 100%. Tom and Sabine being like ‘YESS, MAX, COME PLAY VIDEO GAMES WITH US.”
Also, I like video games.

1 Round NFL Mock Draft
With the draft just 16 days away, I’ve decided to make my first mock draft!
Before you read the mock, I’ll break down some of the trades I made. I have the Dolphins trading picks 5, 39, 70, and 185 in order to move up a couple picks and secure Tua. I also have the Jaguars trading picks 9, 42, 140, and 206 for picks 7 and 152 so the Jaguars can pick Isaiah Simmons. Lastly, I have the Lions trading picks 35, 185, and a future 4th so they can move up and pick Epenesa.
1: Bengals - Joe Burrow - QB
The first two picks in the draft are obvious. The Bengals need a quarterback and Joe Burrow is the most talented and safest quarterback prospect in this class. Burrow is from Ohio and can come back home to Cincinnati with the challenge of turning the Bengals around.
2: Redskins - Chase Young - DE
This is the other obvious pick and is a lot like the 49ers selecting Nick Bosa last year. Although defensive line might not be their biggest need, Chase Young is the best player in this draft class and plays an important position. The coaches of Ohio State have said he’s better than both the Bosa brothers. Young is an elite pass rusher coming from a school that’s produced elite pass rushers. He’ll get paid to bring down Dak Prescott, Carson Wentz, and Daniel Jones, among many other quarterbacks.
3: TRADE - Dolphins - Tua Tagovailoa, - QB
The Dolphins will get worried that the Chargers, or possibly Raiders, will jump them for Tua. With that fear, they’ll pull the trigger and trade up a couple spots to secure the quarterback they’ve been wanting since last year. Tua is injury prone, but when he’s playing he’s arguably better than Joe Burrow. With players like Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson being the best in the game, the Dolphins will take the risk that comes with selecting Tua.
4: Giants - Tristan Wirfs - OT
There are some people that think Wirfs may have to transition to offensive guard in the NFL, but I believe he can be a pro bowler at offensive tackle. Rumors point to Wirfs being the Giants favorite tackle in this talented offensive tackle class. It’ll come down to Isaiah Simmons and Wirfs, but after picking Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones the past two years it’s time for Dave Gettleman to select a “hog mollie” to protect their franchise players.
5: Lions - Jeffrey Okudah - CB
The Lions secondary wasn’t good last year, and they traded Darius Slay which makes it a whole lot worse. Okudah is a great fit for them. He’s been talked about as the best cornerback prospect since Jalen Ramsey came out of Florida State, and when you turn on the tape it’s hard to disagree. Okudah is a lockdown corner that the Lions need.
6: Chargers - Justin Herbert - QB
The Chargers have a good defense and spent their offseason improving their offensive line. As they move to a new stadium, it’s time to bring a new quarterback with them. Herbert may not be the most talented quarterback, but he’s great all around. He can sit behind Tyrod Taylor for a few games before jumping in at quarterback.
7: TRADE - Jaguars - Isaiah Simmons - LB
With Isaiah Simmons available at 7, the Jaguars quickly picked up the phone and called the Panthers. After working out a trade, the Jaguars get the second best defensive player in the draft. Simmons is listed as a linebacker but can play anywhere besides defensive line. He’s extremely versatile and athletically gifted. Simmons can help out any team, in this case the Jaguars, in a variety of ways.
8: Cardinals - Jedrick Wills Jr - OT
Arizona drafted Kyler Murray last year and this offseason they pulled of a surprising trade for DeAndre Hopkins. In order to have a great offense, which is what they’re aiming for, they’ll need a good offensive line. Although it would be tempting to get a receiver here, they’ve got Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and Larry Fitzgerald. Wills is a fantastic run blocker and a great pass blocker and I’m sure this pick would put a smile on Kyler Murray’s face.
9: Panthers - Derrick Brown - DT
The Panthers would be tempted to pick Isaiah Simmons at 7, but after the Jaguars called they traded back and still got a player they loved. The Panthers desperately need a defensive tackle, and Derrick Brown is a great one.
10: Browns - Mekhi Becton - OT
The Browns offense looks tremendous on paper. They have the 2018 first round pick at quarterback and he has plenty of weapons to throw to. Not to mention, he has two very good running backs. But the Browns gravely need an offensive line to solidify the offense. This is a great draft for them because there are a few great ones. Becton is the riskiest pick out of all the tackles, but he has the most potential. The Browns can’t pass on the best offensive tackle available, and he likely will be.
11: Jets - Andrew Thomas - OT
The Jets are another team, like the Cardinals, that need an offensive lineman but could be tempted by a receiver. And just like Arizona, the Jets pass up on the flashy pick in order to take a much needed offensive tackle.
12: Raiders: CeeDee Lamb - WR
The Raiders take the first receiver in an amazing and very deep receiver class. The top three receivers are CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, and Henry Ruggs. Lamb is the best, Jeudy is a close second, and Ruggs is a close third. The Raiders are moving to Vegas, and doing so with a player like Lamb would get the fans excited and coming to games often. CeeDee Lamb has been compared to DeAndre Hopkins, and he may end up being just as good at the next level.
13: 49ers- Jerry Jeudy - WR
The 49ers were interested in Odell Beckham Jr when he was on the trade block, and after acquiring the 13th pick in a trade with the Colts, the 49ers pick a receiver that’s often been compared to OBJ for the way he plays. Jeudy can be a lethal weapon in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.
14: Buccaneers - Andrew Thomas - OT
The Bucs have some good receivers and they pulled off a Tom Brady signing. Brady might be the best quarterback ever, but he doesn’t necessarily have the ability to run like some quarterbacks in todays NFL. The Bucs will need to protect him so he’s got time to find those receivers. Thomas is the fourth best offensive tackle and isn’t far behind the other three. After Thomas, there’s a big drop off at that position. Andrew Thomas would be a great pick at 14 for Tampa Bay.
15: Broncos - Henry Ruggs - WR
With Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick, the Broncos already have big receivers. They also have Noah Fant, Melvin Gordon, and Phillip Lindsay. Those are three very good targets and two very good running backs for a Broncos offense that’s led by promising second year quarterback Drew Lock. Ruggs is more of a speedy receiver that the Broncos need. He’s been compared to Tyreek Hill because not only is he very fast, but he’s also a great route runner. With the addition of Ruggs, the Broncos can have one of the top offenses in the game.
16: Falcons - CJ Henderson - CB
The Falcons need all the defensive help they can get and at 16 they get a great cornerback who improved his stock at the combine. Henderson may not be a future top corner in the game like Okudah can be, but he can definitely be a #1 corner.
17: Cowboys - Kristian Fulton - CB
The Cowboys would be upset that the Falcons took Henderson right in front of them because there’s a decent drop off from him to Fulton. But after Byron Jones left in free agency, Dallas desperately needs a corner and Kristian Fulton is the best one available.
18: Dolphins - K’Lavon Chaisson - EDGE
K’Lavon Chaisson is a speedy edge rusher and the Dolphins need to upgrade their defense. Chaisson is far behind Chase Young, but can be a double digit sack player if he reaches his full potential. Chaisson would be a great fit in Brian Flores’ defense.
19: Raiders - AJ Terrell - CB
The Raiders have a need at cornerback and drafting Terrell to pair with last years pick Trayvon Mullen would give them two long and rangy cornerbacks. Terrell’s stock fell a bit towards the end of the college season, but it’s bounced back in time for him to be picked here.
20: Jaguars - Javon Kinlaw - DT
The Jaguars have to get a defensive tackle with one of their first round picks. Kinlaw is a superb one who can also rush the passer. He’ll be a player that can slow down the run game while also getting 8/9 sacks over the course of the season. Kinlaw will be a day one starter than can reach the pro bowl quickly. Leaving the first round with Isaiah Simmons and Javon Kinlaw would be a big win for the Jaguars.
21: Eagles - Justin Jefferson - WR
The Eagles absolutely need a wide receiver and Justin Jefferson is very talented. The Eagles will undoubtedly pick the best receiver available and he probably will be. Jefferson is a big receiver that’s still quick and can make the Eagles offense dangerous.
22: Vikings - Trevon Diggs - CB
What a coincidence! The Vikings traded Stefon Diggs earlier in the offseason to the Buffalo Bills. With one of the picks they got for him, a first rounder, they get his younger brother. The Vikings are yet another team that badly needs a cornerback. Trevon Diggs is lengthy and was a wide receiver converted to corner so he has great ball skills.
23: Patriots - Jordan Love - QB
Fans and people around the league will be angry if this pick happens. Right after losing Brady, ending their dynasty, they select a quarterback with endless amounts of potential that Belicheck can get the most out of. Jordan Love is a boom or bust prospect that can become a future MVP or be the next Jameis Winston. The Patriots pick him at 23 knowing Belicheck can turn him into an MVP.
24: Saints - Kenneth Murray - LB
Kenneth Murray is a tackling machine that’d give the Saints a needed playmaker in middle of their defense. The Saints offense is already great, but if they can draft a player like Murray and build a great defense, they might be the favorites to get to the Super Bowl in the NFC.
25: Vikings - Patrick Queen - LB
The Vikings already upgraded the defense with the selection of Trevon Diggs, but they’re in trouble on that side of the ball and get another player to help out. Although the Vikings need a receiver after trading Stefon Diggs, the receiver class is deep and they can find a good one in the second round. Patrick Queen’s stock rose a lot over the course of the season. Queen has great coverage skills and would be a very good pick for the Vikings.
26: Dolphins - Joshua Jones - OT
With the last of their first round picks, the Dolphins get an offensive tackle to protect Tua Tagovailoa. Josh Jones is the fifth best offensive tackle this year, but still has the talent to go at the end of the first round. The Dolphins will need to protect their quarterback of the future, especially if it’s the injury prone Tagovailoa, so Jones would be a nice pick here.
27: Seahawks - Yetur Gross-Matos - EDGE
The Seahawks are in urgent need of an edge rusher and Gross-Matos fits that bill. He had 8 sacks in 2018 and 9 last year. The Seahawks tried to fix their pass rush last offseason by trading for Jadeveon Clowney, but he did almost nothing, not to mention he won’t be back next year. Like Chaisson, Gross-Matos is another player that can achieve double digit sack numbers if he reaches his full potential. And I’m sure Pete Carroll can maximize his potential.
28: Ravens - Zack Baun - EDGE
The missing part to the Ravens defense that’s already good is an edge rusher. Zack Baun can fix that and be the piece that officially gives the Ravens the best defense in the league.
29: Titans - Austin Jackson - OT
The Titans lost Jack Conklin in the offseason and will need an offensive tackle in order to keep their offensive success alive. Austin Jackson is the last offensive tackle worthy of being drafted in the first round and can help both Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill.
30: Packers - Tee Higgins - WR
The Packers could use a receiver to pair with Davante Adams. Higgins is a big receiver and a very good. The whole offense would love to have another talented receiver for Rodgers to throw to.
31: TRADE - Lions - AJ Epenesa - DL
With the Lions trading back earlier in the draft, they have more picks to use to trade up to select AJ Epenesa. The Lions need both a pass rusher and a run defender, and Epenesa can do a little bit of both.
32: Chiefs - Noah Igbinoghene - CB
The Chiefs need a corner, and even with plenty getting drafted ahead of them, Igbinoghene would be a good pick here for a defense that’s been improved the last couple of years but still needs some help.

Santa Can’t Bring Me What I Need
A/N:  Title is from one of my favorite Christmas songs!  This is also inspired by A Christmas Carol, except it’s a Black Panther smutty fever dream.  So...here you go
Word Count: 5.4k
Tumblr media
The lights twinkling across your bedroom window are not helping your chronic insomnia as of lately.  Sitting up in your bed hugging your knees to your chest, you exhale deeply thinking over your year coming to a close.  2018 was supposed to be your year of you!  You getting what you want and to hell with what others thought!  But you and your bed remained stale as ever
When would it be your turn to have a story to talk about?  A love affair better than a Lifetime movie?  Actually having something to do instead of lying to people about why you can’t make this or that.  You get up from your bed to go fix yourself a drink in the kitchen.  It’s Christmas Eve after all and not a damn thing is sitting under your tree.
You make yourself a glass of red wine and sit on the couch to watch some TV.  All your usual shows are on winter break, so things get boring real fast as you sift through your watchlists.  You hadn’t had a decent dinner, so luckily for you the hot toddy is hitting your system quicker than expected.  What was not so lucky was how the alcohol brought you into a now delirious funk.  Your head becomes hazy as the buzz settles in and you get a little talkative.
“Fuckin holidays don’t mean a damn thing to me.”  You mutter.  “Ain’t nothin but some commercialized bullshit to get you broke and paying Uncle Sam more sales tax.”
Usually when you drank, you were the life of the party, but without an audience, you sound like an old man needing their medication.  Also, you get sleepy much quicker.
As you lay down, resting your head on the arm of the couch, you flip Netflix up to your list and see Black Panther as your first choice to continue watching.
“Hell, I watched that movie about 35 times….so what’s 36?!”  You yell out to nobody as you drunkenly press play and toss the remote behind you.
The movie starts at the Warrior Falls fight between M’Baku and T’Challa.  So much shoulder, all that back muscle, beards galore, you felt like a kid in a candy store.
“You tell em baby!  We have watched with DIS-GUST!”  You snarl, clappin your hands together loudly as M’Baku makes his dramatic speech.  But you didn’t care about loyalty in the slightest, because when T’Challa lifted his arm to call up the Dora Milaje, you simulated a coffin pose.  Dead.
“Damn, how are these men so fucking fine!  This can’t be real, CGI at best!”  You say fanning yourself as they fought, getting wet and exhausted.  The men, anyway.  “THIS is what I need, dammit.  Santa can walk his fat ass up in here if these hoes were nestled under the tree.  Be a pimp, Santa!  Don’t give me shit else!”
Your eyes began to flutter as M’Baku was put in the leg lock by T’Challa, begging to die.  “If only these niggas existed…” T’Challa’s words rang through your ears as your eyelids stopped resisting and you settle into a slumber.
“Merry Christmaaaas toooo youuuu!”
You feel your neck stiffen as you slowly get up to the noise of carolers.
“The fuck is carolers doing in my neighborhood?”  You ask yourself, groggily shuffling to the door.  Instead of opening it, you beat on it to scare them off.  “GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM MY DOOR!”  You shout, as their singing stops abruptly.  Waiting a couple of minutes, you open the door to see them leaving but no one is around.  The snow in front of your doorstep is not even disturbed, showing no sign of life.
“That’s no way to show the holiday spirit.”  A deep voice says behind you.
You turn around swiftly to see what it was and standing before you is the King of Wakanda himself.
“Wh-what the-”
T’Challa puts up his hands to stop your stammering.  “Yes, this is unexpected.  I am aware.”
You cover your mouth in surprise, completely taken aback.  Your eyes travel his attire: an ornate purple robe with gold and black designs around the hem of the garment.
You take a deep breath to calm your speedy heart.  “Unexpected isn’t the word.  Why in the world are you here?  You aren’t real...are you?”
T’Challa smiles wide, glancing at the floor before his eyes travel the length of your body.  “I am as real as you are feeling right now.”
You shake your head, resting your hands on above you, pacing.  “I really had too much wine.  This is crazy.”
T’Challa steps towards you as you walk towards your fireplace and back again for the third time.  You face the flames as his hands come around your waist, wide and strong, on either side of your hips.  Your breath hitches as you look down at them, still unbelieving that they are really on you.  You feel them, his skin soft and taut across his knuckles, fingers so long.
“The only thing that is crazy is to not take advantage of this moment.”  His lip graze your ear as his soft and assuring voice bewitches your eardrum.  You settle your weight against him, the width of his body sturdy enough to handle yours.
Turning around, you survey his presence once more.  Looking up at his eyes, round and warm, you touch his face.  His beard is as soft as it is manicured, leaving your palm feeling smoother than when it landed.  He turns his head to kiss your fingers before they leave him, rubbing circles over your arms with his thumbs gently.
“So you’re telling me that you are here and you want me to…”
“I want you to feel good tonight.  In any way I can accomplish that.  You just tell me what you want and I am here to service you...and enjoy for myself as well.”  He flashes you a big smile, the apples of his cheeks popping as you nod.
“Oh wow.  Well, I mean, let’s see how this goes.  Umm, ok.  I’m gonna take off your robe now, you good?”
T’Challa tucks his lips as he steps back, waiting, smizing.  You stand for a minute looking at his chest, still unsure of meaning behind all of this.
“Don’t be shy, come here entle.”  T’Challa says, barely above a whisper.  The invitation is necessary for you to finally work the courage to run your hands along the rich cloth of his robe, the strength of his chest resting underneath it all.  You look into T’Challa’s eyes, which are trained on you, as you slide your fingers under the robe.  Pushing it back, the glory of his chest comes forth, supple and hard.  As the robe falls to the floor you can’t help but let out a ‘DAMN’, doing your best Peggy Carter impression to touch but pulling back just as quickly.
“God it’s even better than the movie.  I can’t take this.”  You blubber, near tears as you hyperventilate.
T’Challa shakes his head, chuckling.  “You have every facet of your desires in front of you tonight.  Do you really want to waste time questioning what could or could not be?”
You take a deep breath nodding.  He is right, you have to pull yourself together and nail this down.  This is a fantasy made real, and you needed it to go over just as you always envisioned it.
“No, yeah, right.  Ok.”  You step up to him, palms fully flat against his chest.  Your mouth drops instantly, face strained as if you touched a hot stove but you refuse to retreat.  His heart pounds underneath your touch as your hands travel lower, across his flawless abs, down to…
“GATDAMN, you packin HEAT??”  You squeal in agony as you only felt half the dick.  T’Challa just shrugs.
“Is that what you are needing?”  T’Challa asks, reaching for his fly.
“Not yet, hang on.  I’ll tell you what I want when we get there.”  Stepping up to T’Challa, with little warning you plant your lips on his.  T’Challa doesn’t miss a beat, holding the back of your head, deepening the kiss even more, parting his lips to invite your tongue to mesh with his.  You grip his biceps as best you can to keep from collapsing, the sensations his mouth gave you along with the surprise of these developments made staying grounded difficult.
T’Challa’s hands moved over your back, down to your ass before lifting you up and wrapping your legs around his waist, causing you to squeal with delight.
“Oh my God, warn me before you do that!”  You gasp.
“It’s not as fun that way.”  T’Challa growls, holding you up by your ass as you clutch his shoulders tightly. Slowly he brings you down to the floor, gripping your breasts through your shirt as he grinds his hips into you.  You lose your breath under him, overcome with lust as he dips his head down to lift your shirt with his teeth, placing kisses on your stomach.
You play in his curls desperately wanting him to go lower.  Placing pressure on top of his head, you guide him between the meeting of your thighs as he looks up at you smiling.
“You know what you want now?”  T’Challa asks.
You nod, biting your lip.  “And all I wanna hear is you sopping me up.”
T’Challa’s eyes darken as he kisses you through your joggers, taking his hands in your waistband to pull them down forcefully.  You raise your legs as he slinks them off, parting your legs wide open for him.
T’Challa stares at your core, lying prone in front of you and thumbing your clit back and forth gently.  You arch under his touch, playing with your breast as a distraction.
T’Challa lines his tongue up to your opening to give it a taste.  He pauses as if to savor your essence before going back in for more.  Your mouth flies open as his tongue darts between your folds, massaging your inner thighs.  You encourage him as he noisily envelopes your pussy with his mouth, barely wasting a drop.  Soon as he puts his fingers inside of you, you gasp at the new pleasure introduced.
“Oh God, how is this happening?”  You exclaim, gripping his head as he sucks you off.  You feel his laughter between you, the hum sending vibration across your sex to intensify your experience.
“Ohhh shit, wait.  T’Challa I think I’m gonna-”  But it was too late.  You weren’t sure if what it was, you never experienced it before.  But you expelled all over his face with your orgasm, toes curling as your legs seized around his head.  T’Challa flinched at first, but his shock turned to joy, as if winter’s first snow was hitting the ground.  He kept at it with you, lapping at your juices as you jerked from the overstimulation, needing a break but not wanting to stop.
“You better watch out. You better not cry!...”
Your neck snaps as you looks toward your door.  “Those fucking carolers again?”
T’Challa gets up, reaching for his robe.
“T’Challa, what are you doing!  I’ll get them gone, don’t worry about it!”
He wipes his face on his robe before sliding it over him.  “I’m afraid it’s more than that.  But our time is done here for now.”
You struggle to put your pants back on.  “Oh come on!  What about what we were doing here!  I’m not finished yet!”
T’Challa wipes his beard off some more.  “Are you sure?”
You roll your eyes.  “Ok, I’m sorry, that was a lot.  But blame yourself for staying on my clit so fucking long!”
T’Challa heads toward the door.  “I like to leave a clean plate when I’m done eating, can you blame me?  Don’t worry, entle, we aren’t finished either.”
As he walks out the door, you scramble for your coat and shoes to go after him.  No way are you going to let him out of your sight, hell, he could take you to Wakanda!
The carolers voices grow as you step outside, looking to see which way he may have went.  You look to the ground for clues, but none were there.  The snow crunches underneath your boots as you look now for the location of these carolers who apparently work overtime for Christmas.  Coming up on the side of the house, you feel yourself getting picked up and spun around and around uncontrollably.  Hearty laughter fills your ears that you know isn’t T’Challa’s as you buck against the strength of this individual before they set you down and you’re facing him.
“I startled you, hm?”
You jump up and down clapping your hands.  “No! No! No!  Oh HELL no!  M’Baku??  The hell is this!  I gotta be dreaming now!”
M’Baku looks down at you in his full fur garments.  “Are you saying I am not a real man, love?”
You guffaw out loud, hands on your hips as you catch your breath.  “Oh no, not at all!  Are you kidding?  You’re actually here in front of me like this.  Did you see T’Challa?”
M’Baku huffs, puffing out his chest.  “You think I want to talk about another man with you right now?”
You shrink within yourself as you feel you may have offended him.  “Probably not, it’s just he was here-”
M’Baku takes a step towards you, peering at you with an intense expression.  “Yet you’re still going on about him.  He must have made an impression on you.”
You shake your head.  “I mean, not like...well…”
M’Baku backs you into the side of the house, one hand on the wall by your face as he leans down over you.  His musk luring you to his attention.
“I am in front of you now and I want you.  You will not speak of others before me while we are having this time, do you understand?”
You nod before his hand finds its way up your shirt.  You inhale sharply at his cold touch, your stomach contracting as it finds your breast, circling around your hardened nipple.  You both just stand there, breaths becoming more shallow as they puff in clouds from the cold in each others faces.  As he gropes you, you feel his face as you had T’Challa’s, just double checking how real this mirage is, and it’s 6’5 of soft strength standing in front of you.
His mouth is inviting without even meaning to be, the plump layers that are his lips hang slightly agape as his hand finally warms up from your body heat.  You taste his bottom lip, then the top, popping from suction until you share your mouthy passions.  M’Baku growls into you mouth as his tongue paints your teeth, tasting you fervently.  His hands reach for your waist, lifting you up against the wall like a doll, much quicker than T’Challa did.
“Wait!  Wait, I really want you to man-handle me…”  You say, your breath getting lost quicker in the stale cold air.
M’Baku sucks your neck, still gripping your waist.  “And I fully intend to.”
“But I’ve always wanted to do this.  I have to, I will not let you go without seeing it.”
M’Baku pulls back from your neck, looking at you suspiciously.  “What do you mean?”
You signal him to put you down.  You look up at him as you continue your journey down on your knees in the snow.
“I have wanted to suck your dick through that skirt for a long fucking time, and I’ll be damned if I miss this opp.”  You say, reaching through the grassy layers.
M’Baku chortles up to the sky, before looking at you, tugging at you chin.  “It’s not a skirt, but you may proceed.”
Reaching through his undergarments, you swore you must’ve veered off and gotten ahold of his staff instead, until you remembered he wasn’t holding one.   Your hand couldn’t wrap completely around it as you wiggled his dick from beneath his grassy skirt.
“Good God in heaven…”  You whisper, looking back up at M’Baku, who is biting his lower lip in anticipation.
You work him between your hands a little, feeling it expand a bit more as your lips kiss his tip, moistened with precum.  Sliding your tongue along his length, you twist your hand around his tip as he grows harder.
You began to salivate from his taste.  The vegetarian lifestyle made him delicious as you grew impatient with yourself, taking him into your mouth, opening your throat as best you could to introduce his member to your tonsils.
This made M’Baku elicit a guttural moan, leaning his hands on the wall behind you, looking down and cursing you as you twist his shaft while sucking his tip.  You moan with pleasure as his girth fills your mouth fully, making your eyes water from the glory.  You look up at him as his hand finds the top of your head.
“That is good, love.  Take me in deeper.”  He says hoarsely.
You moan in agreeance, stretching your mouth farther, relaxing your throat as you maintained a steady breath, easing over his length inch by inch.  No way in hell were you able to take in all of him, not today anyway, but hearing M’Baku groan with pleasure is encouragement enough to try your damned best.
Releasing off him, your mouth remains connected to his dick by strings of saliva and precum mixed together as you break them up, polishing his dick with the remnants as you play with his weighty ballsack.
“Ah, that is beautiful. Your erotic nature knows few bounds to satisfy someone in the dead of a winter’s night.”
You lick your lips, twisting his length faster.  “I had to drop everything to get at this, your dick is as perfect as I imagined.”
“Let me see how much more you can take.”  M’Baku says, holding your back as he enters your mouth.  “No hands, love.”
You lay your hands on your lap as he penetrates your throat, pushing his hips towards your face, deeper until you are teary eyed and coughing.  He growls, pulling from you as you collect yourself giggling at his dick bouncing in wait.  He grips your scalp, pushing into you once more, fucking your face vigorously.  You hold onto his thighs, feeling your core throb at the prospect of its turn for attention.  When he pulls out of your mouth, you exhale sharply, licking your lips as he pulls you to standing, kissing you deeply to taste himself along with you.
Then, reaching for your waistband, you start to pull your pants down, kicking a boot off, no longer able to wait to feel him.  You only got one leg out before M’Baku picked you up, wrapping your legs around him, pushing you against the cold wall behind you.
You feel him finding our entrance, wet from T’Challa’s mouth and even more so from M’Baku turning you on, he slowly enters you, his breath catching as your tightness squeezes around him.  You moan desperately from the width, though gravity mixed with your wetness allows you to slide onto him with ease.  M’Baku looks at you, resting his forehead against yours as he begins to dig you out.  His hands rest against the wall as you cling to his shoulders and waist, his hips bounce you on him, those thick thighs powering his movements.  The cold doesn’t bother you at all, you’re almost compelled to take off your coat for heating up with lust.  You snarl in each other’s faces, daring the other to come first, though you’ve already lost.
“Christmas tiiiiime is heeerrre….”
Your head snaps back against the wall as the carolers break you out of your concentration only a little.  “Do you hear that?”
M’Baku’s face is strained in pleasured agony as he takes your jaw in his hands.  “Look at me.”
You do, studying his beautiful, charming face.  Even in aggressive sex, he looks so sweet.  He takes you away from the wall, holding your ass as he bounces you on his dick.  You cry out as he hits your G-spot.
“Happinessss and cheeeer…”
“Fuck. Me. Baku.”  You say with each bounce as he grunts, demolishing you until you feel him cum inside of you, warm and creaming.
A little too quickly he pulls out of you, backing you into the wall, covering himself.
“I hate to leave you like this, but I must go now.”  M’Baku says guiltily.
You wobble, trying your best to put your one leg back in your pants.  “Wait, come on.  Now you really can’t go.  Seriously?”
He blows you a kiss before jogging around and out of view.  You hop to get a boot on, legs wobbly and pussy still clenching, you barely make it around to your front door as the carol singing begins to fade.
Looking around your yard, you are confused and suddenly very cold, obviously wet.  You needed to change your clothes before you caught a cold.  Shaking your head, you step inside the warmth of your home, thinking about what kind of night this was for you to look back on, if it was even real.  Taking off your coat, you walk past the kitchen and freeze.  The fridge door was open and someone bent over, peering inside of it.
“Ohh my God... “  You whisper, closing your eyes, leaning on the island.
He stood up, looking at  bottle of sweet tea.  “You need to reup on your snacks, princess.  Ain’t a damn thing but this off brand tea and some Kraft singles.”
You cock your head to the side.  “Nigga, I got food.  The hell are you talking about?
Erik puts his hands up, laughing.  “Well damn, excuse the fuck outta me!  You ain’t give my boys none of that lip before me.  Speaking of, you got a little something…”  He motions towards your mouth and you quickly turn away, wiping the remnants of your outdoor trist off your face.
Erik walks in front of you, taking a swig of the tea.  “So you let them niggas smash before me, huh?”
You look him over:  shirtless, scars bedazzling his skin and locs loose.  “I ain’t talking bout shit until I’m given some damn explanation.  Why are all y’all coming into my house?”
Erik makes a face.  “I guess I ain’t your favorite then, huh?”
Your arms over your chest.  “I asked a question.”
Erik screws the top on the tea, setting it on the island behind you, lingering beside you.  “So did I.”
His tone was threatening, and you aren’t sure how much to push him, so you play it safe.  “You’re not my favorite.”
Erik plants his hand on the other side of the island, facing you.  “That’s not the answer I was looking for.”
You shrug, remaining defiant.  “At least I’m telling the truth.”
“That question was rhetorical.  I asked you first if you let them niggas smash before me…”  Erik’s eyes grew wild, jaw tightening as he waited for your answer.
You felt your face warm up thinking over T’Challa and M’Baku, what they did and how it made you feel.
“Technically, only one smashed smashed, but…”  You say looking down at your feet anxiously.
Erik scoffs, walking away slowly.  “Fucking M’Baku.  I know it was his big ass, cuz T’Challa talk too fucking much, moves too slow.”  He scratches his beard looking disappointed.
You feel embarrassed but check yourself.  “Mhm, it was good too, so there’s no reason for you to be here.  I can go to bed and rest easy with this pussy satisfied, so go on to wherever the hell you came from!”  You wave him off pointing to the door.
Erik puts his hands in his pockets nodding slowly but not moving.  “So he got in them walls then, huh?  Shit, then I guess I’ll just have to stick it in ya ass then.”
You turn into a turtle as your neck curls up at his statement.  “Excuse me?”
Erik walks towards you.  “You excused.  I ain’t going after he done conformed that pussy to his dick.  Nah, I need a fresh spot, and since I know your mouth got that work too, we can skip all that.”
You couldn’t help but get aroused at the prospect of fucking Erik but you weren’t certain about taking him that way.  You didn’t have too much experience in that realm and the way you imagined Erik fucking, he could fuck up your whole digestive system.
Before you could reason him, Erik takes your hips to turn you around, grinding against your ass, sniffing your neck.  “Shit, you got a fatty on you too?  Imma have some fun makin that shit bounce.”  He says pushing you over the island and taking your pants down.  You grip the edge of it, holding on tight as you prepare for what’s next.  Somehow your pussy acts like it hasn’t had enough, throbbing with angst.
“Ohh, shit!  Looka here, you still got his cum on these lips too.  Ain’t that bout a bitch.”  Erik says, clapping your ass as he spreads your ankles apart.
“I’m sorry Erik.”  You say softly, resting your forehead against the cold countertop.
“That’s how nasty you can be?  Laying your ass out for me without even cleaning up after yourself.  You rude as hell.”
You jump as his hand thunders against your cheeks again, causing you to arch against the pain as it slowly dissipates.
“I don’t wanna be rude.”  You say, looking back at him as you reach beneath you to play with your clit, picking your ass up in the air as you stand on your tiptoes.  Erik kneels down behind you, kneading your asscheeks.
“Nah, but you are though.  Saying I’m dead last against those two busters?  You don’t even deserve this.”  Erik spreads your cheeks burrowing his face between them as he tongues your ass down.  Your body jerks under his mouth, feeling his rough tongue massage your sphincter, coaxing it to open up for him.
You ooh and ahh as you play with yourself, having the best of both worlds at once sending you over your edge for the umpteenth time today.
“Oh God, I don’t deserve it, but I’m so glad you’re here.”  You mewl, reaching back for his locs, holding on tightly as he fucks your ass with his stiffened tongue, growling in amusement.
Pulling off of you he smacks your ass again, shaking his hair loose of your grip.  “Keep your hands to yourself, this ain’t your party, this mine now.  You got all you wanted from them other niggas, now I’m taking what’s mine.”
You try to answer him with a smart quip, but you’re at a loss for words when his fat finger enters you.  When he feels you adjust to it, he quickly sticks in a second, then third.
“Damn, bitch!  You actin shy before, but I see you opening up to me now.”  Erik says, pleased.
You felt yourself grow in heat as you wanted more, arching yourself to gain traction as you push against his fingers, trying to pick up the pace and feel him deeper.
He smacks your ass harder this time.  “Sit your ass still.  Keep playing games and see what happens.”  He kisses your ass before taking his fingers out and getting your pants off the floor.  You look back slightly, not wanting to be caught being disobedient.  He is taking the drawstring out of your joggers.
“So we don’t have any problems…”  Erik takes your hands, wrapping the string around your wrists, tying them tightly.  “I can tell you be movin around, and I don’t chase shit.”
“I won’t run, baby.  I swear.”  I say it as though you have a choice.  He tied you up so good, he might as well put you in the oven to roast.
You hear him undo his fly as his pants fall to the floor.  He lines himself up against you, holding the drawstring on your wrists to pin you down as you feel the pressure of him entering you.  You groan out loud without restraint, you couldn’t help it.  It felt so different, you weren’t sure if he was right to keep going or not.
“There you go mooing and shit.  Say words or shut the fuck up, I ain’t no farmer.”  Erik demands.  He goes in slowly, further expanding your ass to his width as you groan, quieter into the countertop.  “That feels…”
“Huh?”  Erik says, finding his hands to your hips as he works his way back and in again, getting himself in deeper.
Your neck snaps back as you identify exactly what you’re feeling.  “That feels good...do it to me again, please.  I want it all!”
Erik pulls your head back further when he finally sheaths himself fully inside of you.  “This ain’t got a damn thing to do with you.  When I make you cum, that’s for me.  When that dick is too much for you, you stay your ass there for me until I say we through.”
You nod vehemently.  “Please.  Do what you need, it’s yours.”
Erik pumps into you, steadily picking up the pace.  “That’s what the fuck I’m talking about.”
You watch your surroundings quake as he pounds into your ass relentlessly.  You felt like ripping yourself out of your binds, but they force you remain in a state of pleasure, driving you mad.
“Yeah, that ass bouncin now.  You should see this shit right here.”  Erik exclaims, slapping your sore skin in retaliation.
“You hittin it just right baby, yes!”  You scream out, feeling a tidal wave wash over you as your orgasm intensifies.  You accidentally beat your head against the countertop, unable to control yourself as his pleasure takes you over.
You feel his grip on your hair as he wraps his other hand around your waist to pull you up.  “Before you fuck your brain up, I wanna see those titties bounce too.”  He pulls your shirts up forcefully as he frees our breast into the open air.  Erik kisses your shoulder and neck as he hold onto your titties tightly, growing weak as his climax draws near.
“Next time you take it in the ass, you think of me and how much you wish it still was me gettin in that.”  Erik growls scooping his hips to get every inch of himself inside of you.
“No other niggas could, no others.”  You gasp, wrist sore from your arms tearing against them, you felt like a runner on a marathon approaching the finish line.  Weak but strong to the finish.
“Who’s is this?”  Erik grunts heavily.
“It’s yours!  You’re my favorite, dammit.  You are!”  You were just about to give out when you hear Erik cursing and slapping into you a few times more before growing still, subtly grinding against you until he was drained.
When Erik let’s go of your breasts, you slump over the countertop, completely spent physically and mentally.  Erik pulls out of you, untying your knots as the sweet relief of your hands being free adds to your orgasmic elation.  Your heart and you ass beat rhythmically, coming down from the assault of passion you just endured.
As Erik puts on his pants he says. “Aye, let’s do this again next holiday you ain’t got shit to do.”
“What….why….”  You try to squeak out your question but that proves difficult.
“Erik snaps his fingers.  “Oh, this on some Christmas Carol shit.  You know the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future?  Kinda like that, but hella not.”
“This...dream?”  You squeak out, preparing to pass out on the counter.  Erik comes out beside you, leaning over.
“Only if you want it to be.”  He winks, jiggling your ass one last time before heading out.
When you wake up that morning, you sit up on the couch, Netflix still up as you stretch.  You feel your shoulders are sore, figuring you slept wrong as you head to the bathroom.  Sitting on the toilet you feel yourself a little extra wet as you wipe, not entirely sure why.  It wasn’t until you rinsed your hands at the sink, and saw the marks around your wrists that you remembered what happened that one Christmas Eve and how real it may have been, making you smile devilishly.
“All that I want can't be found, underneath the Christmas tree...”

Domestic Trouble
(With the gracious permission of @colourfulwatson [off her prompt below] and because @theconsultinglinguist table slammed, with the proof reading help of @underestimatemethatwillbefun. I present as much domestic fluff as I could fit into 2K. The song is Take Me to Church by Hozier[lyrics adjusted to male for romantic reasons] It's been stuck in my head for days so I decided to give it to our gents)
[Sherlock and John alone in the flat, relaxing, talking, reading, drinking tea. John doesn’t have to go to work, Sherlock just finished solving a case. They are sitting in front of each other on their chairs, they are both just… happy. Colourfulwatson]
Sherlock loved to watch his John cook; Captain Watson cooked too but only solid utilitarian meals and only when Sherlock had bickered about eating, his John though, John cooked with care and love. Sherlock used to have to pretend to be on his phone while he watched John but his carefully chosen titanium ring now gleamed on John’s finger and they had drunkenly agreed on their honeymoon that husbands had Ogling rights and were permitted to stare in an appreciative or even salacious manner in appropriate company. Fortunately for Sherlock he was his own best company for the salacious appreciation of John Watson-Holmes and John really truly did enjoy being appreciated, so he was busy chuckling to himself over the appreciation they had enjoyed on the stairs last night when a dishcloth flopped onto his grinning face.
“Yes, it was a spectacular shag. You’ve been staring at the stairs for the last two minutes, come here and help me instead.” Huffing a sigh Sherlock twirled the cloth as he entered the kitchen and flicked it playfully at John’s bum. John dodged neatly as he had become well used to his husband's boarding school antics since they got together and nodded at a few onions he was planning on prepping last.
“They’re not going to dice themselves I suppose, pity” Sherlock swapped his dish cloth for the longer of the aprons on the door and got a stinging smack on his own bum as he was reaching over the counter for a knife. John’s hand settled possessively on impact warmed skin and he gave that delectable bum a squeeze before returning to seasoning the lamb. One Point to John but Sherlock recovered quite well as he diced and after he slid the onion into the pot he pressed himself against John as John was browning the meat, smearing kisses and sucking quietly at the pulse in his throat. “If dinner gets burned it’s your own fault" John groaned so Sherlock wrapped his long fingers around John’s left hand to help him turn the lamb shanks, pressing kisses to John’s ears and temples instead. Broth, wine, and a medley of veggies found its way into the pot by some miracle and John made mash potatoes while Sherlock pecked kisses onto bits of John he felt needed attention, like his responsive neck, his broad shoulders, and his scar.
Sherlock had made a habit of worshiping John’s scar because he loathed that John felt self-conscious about it. Sherlock hated what it had cost John but loves it because it brought John to him, so he adores it whenever it makes an appearance in the flat; or in an A&E, or the fitting rooms at his tailors, swimming pools, beaches while on holiday… You get the point, not that he loves the rest of John any less, of course.
Dinner was served at their desk which Sherlock cleared and set after John chased him out of the kitchen claiming one last kiss from his beloved distraction. The candle got lit with a quiet smile and Sherlock stood aside to show his efforts to John as he plated their meals. “Lovely" John smiled at the mismatched place settings, “Lovely" John kissed his lovely partner before setting down the plates and himself. “Lovely” Sherlock returned as he savoured the aromas of merlot and garlic under his nose. “Lovely" “Lovely” “Lovely” the volley had them dissolving into giggles as they started to eat.
“Nope" A long arm insistently claimed John’s hips as they shifted off the bed the next morning. “Loo" The arm unlatched itself retreating under the covers. “Mine" A deep voice rumbled back as he made his way to do the necessary upon returning he deposited an extra blanket on the pile and let himself be wrapped up by those insistent limbs. “All yours” John whispered into dark curls and Sherlock almost purred. John is not working today and Sherlock has just closed a lucrative private case so they silently decided to spend the day in bed but a protest roused them just after 11am. John's tummy was missing the usually timely breakfast it enjoyed and was subsequently making some demands known. “Speedys” Sherlock mumbled while his own belly rallied to Johns’ cries and one arm claimed John, this time before he could even shift in the bed, while the other hand texted. John’s voice was protesting now.
“We can’t just stay in bed Lovely, we need to collect" But Sherlock was rummaging through his bedside table and slapped a few pounds down before reclaiming his husband. “Delivery to the bedroom. You utterly wonderful nutter!" One Point to Sherlock and sure enough about 15 minutes and a fair bit of snogging later Speedys senior waiter popped into their bedroom over Mrs Hudson's scolding, dropped a few boxes and collected a large tip before setting a quick pace back downstairs. Grinning at his lunatic husband as Sherlock unpacked a truly enormous order John had to agree with their landlady, it wasn’t decent at all but a good English fry up didn’t need decency it just needed… “Tea for you John" and a hot polystyrene cup was pressed to his hands, English breakfast. Perfect. “You are perfect you madman, just perfect" John announced tucking in.
Breakfast had been followed by more sleep though John’s teeshirt had mysteriously vanished when Sherlock had pulled it off him and chucked it randomly under the bed. No protest woke them this time; simple science has proven that two bodies will move closer together. “Gravitation pull” Sherlock claimed grinning as he tucked himself more tightly around his John. “That only applies to planets ‘Lock." “You are my whole world.” John was grinning like an idiot but he didn’t care, they had been through enough to allow idiotic grins as he traced the fading network of scars on his husband’s back, reminding himself to kiss each and everyone in reply to Sherlock’s decadent attention to his shoulder yesterday.
After a few hours of sloth and snogging Sherlock claimed the shower while John went to toss the take away containers and make more tea. He was heading back to the bedroom with two steaming mugs when a steaming, pink, warm, and utter delicious Sherlock emerged into the passage to give him an enticing show on route into the bedroom, John decided his delicious man needed a delicious meal for the evening… Just for being so very delicious of course. “Dinner?” was met with a still nude “In bed?” and John smiled. “No, out. I want to show off tonight, a nice restaurant with stunning food where the most delicious thing there will be you” John loved to exaggerate and Sherlock would have protested but gentle kisses were being littered over his scarred back and he leaned into his husband with a sigh. “Dinner, yes but I’ll be the envied one, I have you".
Sherlock had been working on his blog in bed that afternoon when a smooth tenor tickled his ear from the bathroom.
“My lover's got humour.
He's the giggle at a funeral.
Knows everybody's disapproval.
I should've worshipped him sooner. “
If John was singing tonight would definitely be a good evening so Sherlock finished up with his blog and snagging the Strad from the lounge, settled in the passage to play along with John.
“My church offers no absolutes,
He tells me, "Worship in the bedroom."
The only heaven I'll be sent to
Is when I'm alone with you.”
John was singing to himself when a violin caught his attention, the Strad! His mad husband was in the passage accompanying his impromptu solo, finishing up quickly he shut down the water and opened the door. Yes, there was a dressing-gowned but otherwise naked Sherlock swaying his way through the melody of the chorus. He led them to the lounge and John followed his pied piper without a thought to wet floors or anything else really, the music wound to a close with the chorus and a panther purred in his ear
“If I'm a pagan of the good times
My lover's the sunlight.
To keep the Goddess on my side
She demands a sacrifice.
Drain the whole sea,
Get something shiny.
Something meaty for the main course
That's a fine-looking high horse.
What you got in the stable?
We've a lot of starving faithful
That looks tasty.
That looks plenty.
This is hungry work.”
His lover's voice ran like velvet down his spine and John felt his toes curling as Sherlock linked their hands and pulled him into the lazy circles of a dance, naked in the living room. John was grateful for curtains, locks, and the beautiful mad crazy amazing man in his arms. “Starving" He breathed into Sherlock’s ear as his song wound down. “Clothes” Sherlock quipped and they both burst out laughing before Mrs Hudson called a greeting which sent them dashing back to the room.
Sherlock was watching John watch him dress when an idea came to his mind, reaching into the back of his cupboard he pulled out the satin jacket he had worn at Christmas and changed out his white shirt for a charcoal one of a slightly higher silk blend.
“You’re going to be a handful tonight aren't you?” John almost protested but he was smiling, his lovely Sherlock, the little shit knew how much John loved that jacket. He'd barely been able to behave himself over the Christmas party and they hadn’t even made it to the bedroom when they got home.
Sherlock was basking in the heat of John’s gaze as those clever surgeon's hands smoothed his lapels before sliding around his waist to, once again, settle possessively on his bum. John started as the taxi buzzed Sherlock’s phone and his happily groping hand. “We should definitely leave now ‘Lockie or we won’t get out of this room.” John groaned into his lover's silken chest. “Having Dinner first are we?” Sherlock was still grinning as John towed him to the taxi and he was grateful John Watson was a smaller man or he would have just hoisted “Trouble!” over his shoulder, maybe he still would.
Dinner had been great; Sherlock had turned heads, naturally being the beautiful man that he was and John had enjoyed smirking at the women and men that Sherlock pointed out as staring at him for a bit too long, but now they were both happy to be back in their bed. Sherlock had pouted at loosing three buttons off his new favourite shirt but he could sew, John could sew, and John could in fact hoist his Trouble over his shoulder so he didn’t particularly care about buttons as he settled into those wonderfully strong arms to sleep, John went back to boring work tomorrow morning and Sherlock would not let go until then.
John held on tightly to his Trouble, it was the perfect name for Sherlock really and John loved him even more for that, trouble was perfect for him. He went back to work tomorrow and would have borrow a scarf for a few days until things faded. The day had been flawless and he pressed a kiss into the dark curls nestled under his chin. Sherlock’s grip would likely leave more bruises but John was fine with that. He was happy to have mementos of this day because it wasn’t often he got a day like this; with just his Sherlock, no work, or cases, or national emergencies to make him share his lover with the outside world.
John knew that everyone considered Sherlock the jealous one but people really did not observe. The man in his arms had saved his life, died for him, killed for him. He knew he was possessive of Sherlock and it was probably a bit not good but he didn’t care. They had each other and that was all that matter.

2021 NFL MOCK DRAFT - 7 ROUNDS/FINAL
April 29, 2021
 ROUND ONE
1. Jacksonville – QB Trevor Lawrence, Clemson
The distance between Trevor Lawrence and the rest of this field is vast. We haven’t seen such an obvious #1 overall pick since Andrew Luck.
 2. NY Jets – QB Zach Wilson, BYU
With the trade of Sam Darnold, the Jets are ready to start anew with Zach Wilson, a man possessed with rare gifts that need to be honed before he’ll be an effective pro.
 3. San Francisco (FROM MIA THRU HOU) - QB Mac Jones, Alabama
The Niners sent 2 picks this year and future first-rounders to move up here – and it’s clearly because they’re comfortable taking one of the guys they consider to be this year’s 3 top quarterbacks.  He might not start immediately, but Jones is the future in San Fran. The question is: do the Niners send Garoppolo back home to New England?
 4. Atlanta - TE Kyle Pitts, Florida
I know it’s fashionable to have the first four picks go QB-QB-QB-QB, but I’m bucking the trend here. Atlanta opts to roll with Ryan for one more year as they swing for the fences with Kyle Pitts. I’m not I’ve ever seen a tight end drafted this high, but he’s really more of a matchup-nightmare slot receiver.
 5. Cincinnati – OT Penei Sewell, Oregon *
Joe Burrow badly needs protection, and this year’s best left tackle prospect falls to them.  Sewell has a little growing up to do before he becomes a legit pro, but he’s got elite tools for the position and his college career was practically without blemish.
 6. Miami (FROM PHI) - WR Ja’Marr Chase, Missouri
As Adam Schefter tweeted, “Dolphins now have basically turned their former LT Laremy Tunsil who they traded to Houston into four first-round picks and a third-round pick.”  If Miami wins a Super Bowl in the next 3 years, these maneuvers will be legendary. And they might not be done! Plenty of teams will want to get ahead of Detroit for the remaining QBs. But here, the Dolphins get exactly what they needed: the best WR coming out this year.
 7. Detroit - QB Justin Fields, Ohio State
The Lions can’t possibly be sold on Jared Goff as their unchallenged starter. He can certainly serve as a very, very expensive bridge QB to Justin Fields… but it probably won’t take a whole year for Detroit to turn to Fields as their QB of the future.
 8. Washington (PROJ. TRADE W/CAR) - QB Trey Lance, North Dakota State
With the acquisition of Sam Darnold from the Jets, Carolina won’t use this pick for a QB anymore. Washington head coach Ron Rivera uses his old Panthers connections to secure the #8 pick to snag Trey Lance.  Dan Snyder may never learn.
 9. Denver - CB Patrick Surtain II, Alabama
The Broncos used to have amazing depth at the cornerback position. No longer. It’s time to build that defense back up. With the additions of Surtain plus Kyle Fuller and Ron Darby, a weakness becomes perhaps the strongest group in the league.
 10. Dallas - LB Micah Parsons, Penn State
Dallas just misses out on their dream pick: Pat Surtain. They consider trade offers but instead look to replace Sean Lee (and perhaps eventually Leighton Vander Esch, who has fallen out of favor).
 11. Minnesota (PROJ TRADE W/NYG) - OT Rashawn Slater, Northwestern
The Vikings package picks (1st and 3rd) to grab a potential great one at left tackle. They’ve got one more year to try to protect Kirk Cousins and convince themselves he was worth the investment.  They’ll need to get ahead of Philadelphia to secure Slater.
 12. Philadelphia (FROM SF THRU MIA) – WR Jaylen Waddle, Alabama +
The Eagles keep acquiring wide receivers, and none of them seem to deliver the reliability they need. If Waddle can come back 100% healed from his 2020 injury, he could be the one they’ve been waiting for. Jalen Hurts should be happy to have Waddle in town.
 13. LA Chargers - WR DeVonta Smith, Alabama
With Mike Williams heading into his contract year, the team prepares for life without his services. DeVonta Smith is smaller than ideal, but that’s just about the only knock on him. The Chargers will wait until the next round to take their left tackle; it’s a deep position this year.
 14. NY Giants (PROJ TRADE W/MIN) - DE Jaelan Phillips, Miami + *
The Giants move back a few spots and still secure help for their pass rush.  Phillips had a great 2020. He’s got an injury history and immaturity issues to deal with, but the Giants think his upside is worth the risk.
 15. Las Vegas (PROJ. TRADE W/NE) - CB Jaycee Horn, South Carolina
The Patriots have a tradition of trading down in the first round, so this is not a surprise. They want to get back the 3rd round selection the NFL stripped from them, and that’s what they receive from Las Vegas. The Raiders have to move ahead of Arizona to select the speedy corner Jaycee Horn.
 16. Arizona - RB Najee Harris, Alabama
The Cardinals were really hoping Jaycee Horn fell to them. They fill a different hole in their roster with the selection of Najee Harris, just what this offense needs to get them to the next level.
 17. New England (PROJ. TRADE W/LV) - DE Kwity Paye, Michigan
New England drops back a few spots, picks up a 3rd rounder, and takes the guy they were targeting all along. Kwity Paye is apparently an inspiring leader in the locker room; he’ll be wearing a “C” on his chest in no time.  He’s also a hell of a lineman.
 18. Miami - OLB/DE Azeez Ojulari, Georgia
The Dolphins went offense with pick #1 in this round; they’ll address the defensive pass rush here. Ojulari can play outside linebacker in any scheme, and Brian Flores will love that versatility.
 19. Carolina (PROJ. TRADE W/WAS) - G/OT Alijah Vera-Tucker, USC
The Panthers move down quite a bit and still land the best interior lineman of 2021. Ali will likely upgrade one of the guard spots immediately – or he could serve as an essential swing lineman at 4 positions as a rookie with a bright future. Carolina gets from Washington picks 19, 51, 82 and a 1st in 2022.
 20. New Orleans (PROJ TRADE W/CHI) - CB Caleb Farley, Virginia Tech +
New Orleans tried to get even higher – to select Pat Surtain or Jaycee Horn.  Instead they settle for Caleb Farley, the last of the blue-chip corner prospects this year. His medical concerns can be overlooked. The Bears get picks 28, 98 and 105.
 21. Indianapolis - OT Christian Darrisaw, Virginia Tech +
With the retirement of Anthony Castonzo, the Colts superb offensive line got a lot weaker. They’ll need Darrisaw’s help to protect a risk-taker like Carson Wentz. His recently-reported groin injury may make him a draft-day slide though.
 22. Tennessee – OLB/DE Jayson Oweh, Penn State
The Titans signed Bud Dupree to play across from Harold Landry, but bringing in a developmental prospect like Oweh is too tantalizing to pass up. His low college production is a huge question mark, but his measurables make him worth the risk here.
 23. NY Jets (THRU SEA) - RB Travis Etienne, Clemson
The Jets can go in all sorts of directions here. They need damn near every position. But Etienne is too tantalizing to pass up. He showed at his pro day that his heavy workload in college didn’t slow him down at all. He’s got elite speed for the position, and the Jets need that burst and receiving ability if they want to get out of the gutter.
 24. Pittsburgh - OT/G Jalen Mayfield, Michigan
The gaping holes along the Steelers’ once-vaunted offensive line are going to be hard to patch up quickly. Mayfield has his detractors, but he’s clearly the best remaining left tackle prospect.
 25. Jacksonville (THRU LAR) - LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame
He’s a bit on the small side but Owusu-Koramoah is explosive with above-average instincts. Jacksonville should be taking the best-available from here on out; they need just about every position.
 26. Cleveland - LB Zaven Collins, Tulsa
Cleveland is more than ready to take the next step, but they’ve been getting by on sub-standard linebacking talent. Time to address that crew with a monster in the middle.
 27. Baltimore - WR Rashod Bateman, Minnesota
The Ravens never seem to hit paydirt with their many, many attempts to draft a star wide receiver. They’ll try again with Bateman. His famously wide catch radius will help Lamar Jackson as he’s on the move.
 28. Chicago (PROJ TRADE W/NO) - DT Christian Barmore, Alabama
The Bears pick up two third-rounders in their deal with New Orleans. They land the best interior defensive lineman coming out this year. Barmore might not have eye-popping numbers in college, but he’s another Daron Payne in the making.
 29. Green Bay - CB Greg Newsome II, Northwestern
Kevin King was retained, but he had a few really rough outings in 2020. Jaire Alexander is one of the best corners in the league, but the team could use some help while he’s on an island.
 30. Philadelphia (PROJ TRADE W/BUF) - CB Tyson Campbell, Georgia
Philadelphia doesn’t want to come away from the first day without a quality corner. They see Newsome come off the board and feel they have to trade back into the bottom of the first round to get their guy. Campbell has amazing catch-up speed – no one is getting by this guy.  The Eagles give up picks 37, 84 and WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside).
 31. Baltimore (FROM KC) – DE Greg Rousseau, Miami
The Ravens can take a risk on Rousseau’s upside. It’s been a while since he played a meaningful game – and he looked quite average at his Pro Day – so there are legit questions about Rousseau’s ability. But when he was starting for the Hurricanes, he looked like a top-ten pick.
 32. Tampa Bay - LB Jamin Davis, Kentucky
The Bucs have no pressing immediate needs on their team. None! All they need to do is build for the future. Lavonte David is on the back-end of his career, so Jamin Davis could be an interesting addition here. Davis could perhaps challenge for a starting spot immediately, but he’s more likely going to be part of a rotation to keep Lavonte’s legs fresh and prolong his career a bit.

What’s right and wrong (to my tastes anyway) on comicbook TV.
This is going to be a little bit of a love letter/ report card of hate for comic related TV shows.   And, honestly, a rant.
TV is a different breed. Any discussion of this subject has to begin with that point. You have to acknowledge that they cannot just mirror comic stories.  You have to give them the freedom to write their own stories.
That said, the entire point of basing a TV show on a comic is that it will start with an established fan base. If you honor the source material, you gain.   If you shit on it , you lose.
The Walking Dead may be the best example of this.  The characters from the comics show up. They are generally the same characters, but each character’s chronology is different. The show has taken a different direction on TV and that changes their path to death. I love that. That is a healthy relationship with your source material.  That gives your comic readers and your new TV fans something to watch.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is the polar opposite.  It is really a pretty bad show I have binge watched. Almost every character in the show is a jacked up version of their comic selves or doesn’t exist in the comics. Sure, there are some exceptions.  They got Martin Stein right, although his dialogue is way too whiny.  Arguably they more or less got the hawks right. The guy who played Vandal Savage was a good actor, although IMO way too short.  It would be almost totally unwatchable if not for the fact that they have pretty good actors.  They floated a comic based on it and it totally flopped.  That could mean something about the TV show, or nothing at all.  In this instance I think it is your dead mine canary telling you that comic fans have tuned out because your writers are not universally good,  They have jacked up the characters turning off the fans, and that you probably have the wrong characters on the show.
I would argue that the LOT would profit greatly from a comic-style reboot.  THe Arrow-verse is well suited for reboots.
Have something irrevocably change the timeline and recast your time travelers.  You only NEED Sarah Lance and I’d argue, Rip Hunter, out of the existing cast.  The other 5 can rotate new characters in and out. I’d love to see Jonah Hex get pulled into different eras, eventually abandoned in the future,  and meet his own stuffed body.  Why not have Booster Gold show up and (intentionally) accidentally screw up missions to yield better results.  Bring in the LOSH for a guest appearance.  There is no reason to restore vandal Savage.  T.O. Morrow, the Lord of Time, Good and Bad Chronos are all ripe players available for season long baddies. I would argue it is time for something new.
The Flash seems to bounce between fresh and tired. I can’t tell if the status quo or the writers yield the tired stories. While the Central City status quo is perfect for telling “Supervillian X shows up and flash saves the day” stories, it feels dated now. Plus no one really likes Barry and Iris dating as brother and sister. The one good thing about the flashpoint reboot timeline is that it temporarily cleaned up that awkward relationship into one that TV fans could tolerate.
I think they would be wise to have some new character unwind the original flashpoint (the one created by the reverse flash) and leave Iris and Barry to have a normal committed relationship, even a married one, with Joe seen as Barry’s beloved mentor.  Keep the characters people like and flush the dead weight story baggage that fans don’t like.  You can bring back the popular Officer Thorne. The guy who plays the reverse flash is fantastic and really hasn’t been given top scripts to go off.   Here is a Zoom who as a scientist from the future, might (should?) have some fairly big concerns about killing "Historical figures” (although he didn’t show any in the past).  The danger of Zoom without the bodycount.
You can kill off Barry’s dad to make it a stronger relationship and that could be an impetus to explore Keystone City in Jay Garricks’ earth and get out of Central City for  a while.  DO Jay Garrick and Jesse Quick remember the flash and everything that happened?  I would think so, so you don’t have to revisit Zoom.  That might be neat for Barry and Vibe to start calling Jay Garrick’s world Earth 2 as they wouldn’t  remember naming them.   You could then toss the comic fans a bone by introducing the crime syndicate on Jesse's now Earth 3.  But that is admittedly, robbing peter to pay paul.    It would be somewhat befuddling for easily confused TV folk. But that is just some random thoughts, not a prescription like I mentioned for LOT.
Green Arrow is a series where they took everything cool from the comic, added new pieces, and built a new coherent world from it. The dialogue and stories have gone downhill since season one and team arrow is way too big, but they is a good nucleus there. A LOT reboot could tighten that up too.  Mr. Terrific could fall into Jay Garrick’s world and meet his boyfriend there that he just likes better.   Mad Dog could be an Arrow adversary. Ras Al Ghul could stay dead.  Ray, Roy and Speedy could also migrate to earth 2 or 3. John could get back both kids in the reset, which might push him into semi- retirement as a hero.  That could clear the table for fresh new villains to threaten Star City.
I really like the supergirl series.  It’s not that they do everything right, it’s just a another show where they have a very likable star.  And they really cater to the comic fan.   They write the show from a premise akin to “Hey what if we took the core 1/3 characters of the DCU to populate this universe and then had Superman almost always away on special projects leaving Supergirl to save the day?  How would things shake out?  Anything Superman would normally handle, we will give to her. ”
The writing feels much more organic than on LOT.  I don’t like the guy who plays the Martian Manhunter, but I love that the Martian Manhunter is in the show.  (note you could always “kill off”  that identity). Mon-el is a nice add.  Bringing in the LOSH is very much mirroring what I perceive to be the concept of the show.
Agent Carter has gone by the wasteside and that was a shame. I think the show really blew it by not getting more into the era. Why not have the 1950′s avengers or Marvel’s 40′s Heroes trickle through?  A hearthrob alien from Venus with advanced technology and questionable motives? A killer robot? Venus? Namor and Namora? The Original Black widow?  The Torch? All handled by Agent Carter with an occasional assist from the wasp and Ant Man?  Their directive shunned their comic audience, IMO.
Agents of Sheild has also gotten into trouble for similar reasons. I get that Marvel didn’t want to give them access to the main MU heroes, so they tried to build around a cast instead and an assigned shit storyline eater ---the inhumans, but I think they didn’t make the right arguments.   Ulysses Klaw would have made an awesome villain for shield for the last season....adding to his impact in the black panther movie.  They should have focused on minor villains with International operations.  The Kangaroo.  Batroc the Leaper would have been a screen munching over the top villain straight out of a bond movie.  He could have a plan to kill his nemesis, Captain America, that shield could thwart.  I have always been partial to the mandrill, (and his sister Dansen Macabre), and the success of the purple man character tapping a nerve suggests it is high time for a little monkey business.
I get that getting the Ghost Rider right was an expensive investment dictating they used that a lot for a season.   The storyline just wasn’t that good.  Another Mort. Maybe guest star the shroud.  Werewolf by night.
Like LOT, the AOS show is really built on only a small portion of their cast.   Three characters since they offed Grant --- Mockingbird, Daisy, and Coulter.  Really everyone else SHOULD be nameless agents who come and go.  It’s a spy show.  You don’t have to have ongoing arcs each week. It’s great to be the prisoner, but  you can be the 1960′s Avengers some weeks.  I think they lost sight of that.
That’s all I really got today.  End rant.

Winter 2018 Playlist, Part 1
Tumblr media
This is mostly new(-ish) music, but sometimes there’s a just a song or two or three or nine that I want to listen to a lot that ends up here too.  Here’s what I’m listening to as of late:
Yamantaka // Sonic Titan - “A Star Over Pureland” - Y//ST had been on my radar for a few years now, though I hadn’t listened to them much. But between their name and their visual aesthetics, there seemed to be something pretty exciting about them. Finally delving into their back catalog in anticipation for their upcoming album Dirt (and I think there’s a song from that somewhere in the future of this playlist), I’m super pleased that I’m finally devoting more time to them. Heavy at times, more folky at other times, and even a little splash of electronic texture here and there. They remind me of this group Mr. Gnome that I had gotten into a few years ago. Anyways, this particular track (from their 2011 debut) is one of my favorite things I’ve listened to in a while, period. Apocalyptic waves of drums and guitars meet blood-thirsty chanting. I could listen to 100 minutes of this, but I’ll settle for the 7 minutes of this track.
Tune Yards - “ABC 123” - I wasn’t super impressed by the new Tune Yards album, and I was pretty bummed by that considering how much I liked her last two. I think Merrill Garbus has such an awesomely unique voice and great messages in her lyrics, but the actual songs on this album fail to keep my interest.  This track is one of the few exceptions, a bouncy pop song that belongs in the top tier of Tune Yards songs - if not one of the best songs I’ve heard so far this year. Weirdly disappointing, then, that the rest of the album fails to meet this bar.
Caverns of Anti-Matter - “Make Out Fade Out” - If a gun was to my head, I’d say Stereolab was my favorite band of all time.  And with the likelihood of ever getting another Stereolab album diminishing year by year, I’m now just living off of new albums by Laetitia Sadier and Caverns of Anti-Matter.  Last year was Laetitia’s turn, so now we’re back to Tim Gane’s post-Stereolab outfit, Cavern’s of Anti-Matter. Instrumentally, I think Caverns lean far far closer to the electronic side of things than Stereolab had, yet there’s still these hints of krautrock and lounge in their sound that don’t seem that far removed from the prior band. The bass line in this new track is killer, and the vocal-less track kind of whizzes by - the soundtrack to a fictional cartoon about spaceships racing each other, maybe.  I’m extremely excited to hear more.
Teenage Wrist - “Dweeb” - I’ve never heard of this band, but I’m very happy that I stumbled on “Dweeb.” It has its roots firmly planted in the grunge/alternative rock sound of the 90s, yet still feels refreshingly new. I’m a sucker for things that make me think “Wow, this is like those rock songs from the days of yore.” There’s a good amount of, for lack of better adjectives, some authentic sounding angst here.
Damaged Bug - “Jet in Jungle” - A track that’s a few years old, but I discovered last year while falling through some Oh Sees wormholes.  I loved the track then, and I can’t stop listening to it now. Seriously.  I have a genuine addiction to this track.
Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Future, James Blake - “King’s Dead” - I love Kendrick’s voice, y’know? And he’s a smart guy. And, I guess, he’s so hyped about Black Panther that he oversaw the entire soundtrack?  God, I love this track.  It’s all over the place, and there’s so many little pieces that somehow work together. I said I was going to listen to more hip hop music this year (well, I didn’t say it out loud, but I did say it in my head), and this song definitely inspires me to make good on that promise.
Of Montreal - “Paranoic Intervals/Body Dysmorphia” - I already said some words about this song last month in this here blog.  But I still love this song.
David Byrne - “Everybody’s Coming to My House” - Like, the first 40 seconds of this song annoy me every time, admittedly. The music's queuing up and David has this squeaky voice happening and I’m always juuuust about to skip the track, but then the drums kick in, the music starts rolling, and all the elements just suddenly meld together beautifully.  I’m way more excited for a David Byrne solo album in 2018 than I thought I would be.
Jeff Rosenstock - “USA” - There are two Jeff Rosenstock songs on this album I love to pieces, and...actually, you know, I love all the songs on this album. Like every fucking song.  This album is fantastic and its timing couldn’t have been better - hitting my sweet spots du jour for politically charged sing-along punk rock. But this song, in particular, is like the theme song for 2018.  “We’re tired!/We’re Bored!” Another track that stretches past the 7-minute mark without every coming close to being exhausting or wearing out its welcome.
Yamantaka // Sonic Titan - “Someplace” - I said a bit about Y//ST already, so I’ll keep this brief.  This is from their upcoming album Dirt, which I’m pretty excited about. This track still has some pretty heavy stuff in the instrumentation, but there’s also a really pretty and serene quality about the track, especially early on.  I’m pretty interested in hearing the rest of the album.
The Vaccines - “I Can’t Quit” - I’ve never listened to The Vaccines before, but I don’t think I ever really had to. You see the band name, and you kind of just know what they sound like - some sort of garage/punk/rock commotion.  And I gave this track a whirl, seeing as it was new and I gave an apathetic “why the fuck not” should shrug” and ended up digging it. Yep - sounds exactly like I expected it to.  But it's catchy. Fun. Good.  I’ll probably listen to more. (Okay, also, their first album was called What Did You Expect from the Vaccines?  Jesus Christ.)
Turbowolf - “Domino” - I don’t know who Turbowolf is. Another apathetic shrug. But, also, another head nod of approval.  The easiest comparison here is Death from Above and maybe Bass Drum of Death. Maybe...Wolfmother? Like, any band that that has “death” or “wolf” in its name.  Is there a band called Deathwolf? There is, so says Spotify.  With 273 monthly listeners. Step up your game, Death Wolf. Anyways, I like this song.  Fun, speedy, this will be on a summer playlist or two.
Jay Som - “Pirouette” - I’m sorry (I say to myself). I totally slept on Everybody Works last year, despite listening to it a handful of times and loving it and wanting to have listened to it more.  And now this post-album track hits and its so so so so good.  I’ve literally listened to this song more than I’ve listened to all the tracks on that album combined.  Like, I should go listen to it, but...this songs not on it. And I love this song.
The Wombats - Cheetah Tongue - I kind of remember The Wombats? They were, like, one of a hundred bands who all kind of sounded/looked/acted the same in the late 2000s. They’re still making music, so good for them. I wonder if I’ve unfairly judged them/dismissed them, though, because this song is really quite great.  Despite its terrible name. Dance-y alt-pop-rock that definitely makes me nostalgic for illegally downloading music in 2008.
The National - “The System Only Sleeps in Total Darkness” - True story: I never really liked The National before. I’ve admired what they’ve done, and I’ve never hated them. But they always just sort of seemed like the most stereotypical/streamlined version of indie rock.  If someone was like “This is what indie rock sounds like…” they’d put on a National record. So I never really cared about them before. But then I heard this song late last year, as every website, radio station and entertainment outlet praised them and their latest album. And...I kinda fell in love with this song.  Am I a convert? Shrug.  Look, I like this song an awful lot. And they should be grateful for that right now.

2nd 2020 NFL 1 Round Mock Draft
Before I dive into the mock draft, I’ll break down some trades I have happening. I have the Dolphins trading picks 5, 56, and 153 to the Lions for pick 3 so they can secure Tua. The Lions would accept this deal because they can get who they’d want at 3, but instead take them at 5 and acquire more picks. Second, I have the Chargers trading pick 6, 71, and a 2021 4th to the Giants for pick 4 so they can get Herbert, while the Giants can still get whoever they’d want at 4 but instead at 6 so they can acquire more picks. I then have the Jaguars trading picks 9, 42, and 137 so they can take Isaiah Simmons at 6. The Giants would be giving up the opportunity to take Simmons, but would add even more picks while still getting the offensive tackle they want, Tristan Wirfs, at 9. I think the Saints will pull off a stunning trade, trading picks 24, 88, 130, a 2021 2nd, and a 2021 4th to move up and pick high potential quarterback Jordan Love. The Broncos would be moving down nine picks, but could still get a great receiver, one of the top in the class, for Drew Lock. Lastly, I have the Dolphins trading picks 39, 70, and, 141 for pick 27 so they can get the defensive help they need. The Seahawks would trade out of the first round like it seems like they always do, but would be getting a good return for their pick.
1: Bengals - Joe Burrow - QB
This is an obvious pick. The Bengals need a quarterback and Burrow is the best one in the draft. He’s also from Ohio. It’s a perfect fit and a lock to happen.
2: Redskins - Chase Young - EDGE
This pick is another lock to happen. Chase Young is the best player in the draft and you can’t pass on him at two.
3: TRADE - Dolphins - Tua Tagovailoa - QB
I have a strong feeling this trade will happen. The Dolphins will get worried about other teams, notably the Chargers and Panthers, jumping them for Tua. So the Dolphins will pull the trigger on a trade to secure their guy. Tua might be the most talented quarterback in the draft, however, he has major injury concerns and reports are circulating that he failed two physicals.
4: Trade: Chargers - Justin Herbert - QB
The Chargers almost certainly will draft a quarterback early. And with only one of the top three left, the Chargers secure Herbert by trading up. The Dolphins have a much improved offensive line and good targets for a rookie quarterback to throw to. Herbert can also sit behind Tyrod Taylor for a few games. It’s a great fit for a rookie quarterback, like Herbert, to end up.
5: Lions - Jeffrey Okudah - CB
After trading back, the Lions still manage to get the player they want. They badly need a new cornerback, especially after trading Darius Slay earlier in the offseason. Okudah is one of the best corner prospects in recent years and could be the next great one to come out of Ohio State.
6: TRADE - Jaguars - Isaiah Simmons - LB
The Jaguars call the Giants, and the Giants trade back again. The Jaguars trade up for Isaiah Simmons, a generational defensive talent. Isaiah Simmons is very versatile, playing everywhere on defense besides defensive line. He’s an athletic freak too. Could be the best linebacker in the league for 10 years. Don’t think of him as a linebacker though, just think of him as a defensive player because you can put him anywhere.
7: Panthers - Derrick Brown - DT
Derrick Brown is an amazing defensive tackle that’ll make an impact from day one. He’s gotten compared to Ndamukong Suh a few times, and I like that one. Brown can be a pro bowler in his first year.
8: Cardinals - Jedrick Wills Jr - OT
Kyler Murray was sacked 48 times last year which was tied for the most in the league. The Cardinals have a great offense in the works, but to complete that they need to build a good offensive line. Wills would be a huge help, and this is why he’s the first OT off the board.
9: Giants - Tristan Wirfs - OT
After trading back twice, first with the Chargers then with the Jaguars, the Giants are extremely happy. They get lots of extra picks, and still get the offensive tackle they want. Wirfs is rumored to be the Giants favorite tackle, and getting him after trading back twice would be a huge win for them. Saquon and Daniel Jones, their franchise players, would really benefit from this.
10: Browns - Mekhi Becton - OT
The Browns have Baker Mayfield, David Njoku, Austin Hooper, Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, and Kareem Hunt. Sounds like they should have a top 3 offense next year, right? It does, but they want unless they improve their dreadful offensive line. Mekhi Becton has the most potential out of all the lineman in this draft.
11: Jets - CeeDee Lamb - WR
The Jets need an offensive lineman but could be tempted by a wideout here. CeeDee Lamb is the best receiver an extremely talented wide receiver class. He’d instantly be Darnold’s favorite target and can do great things from year one.
12: Raiders: Henry Ruggs - WR
Moving to Vegas with a flashy receiver like Henry Ruggs would instantly attract fans. Ruggs’ best comparison is Tyreek Hill because of his speed, but just like Tyreke Hill, what separates him from other speedy receivers is his great route running. Ruggs and Tyrell Williams would be good number 1 and 2 targets for Carr.
13: 49ers - Javon Kinlaw - DT
The 49ers trading DeForest Buckner to the Colts for this pick, and many people think they will get Jerry Jeudy here. However, due to the fact that this receiver class is very deep, the 49ers can take one at 31. So at 13, the 49ers can replace Bucker with Javon Kinlaw. Kinlaw can contribute on both run defense and as a pass rusher, and just like Derrick Brown he can make an immediate impact.
14: Buccaneers - Andrew Thomas - OT
The Buccaneers have the newly acquired Tom Brady, and have a plethora of targets for him. But for the offense to reach it’s full potential, they need to go offensive line here, especially because Brady isn’t the most mobile quarterback. Thomas is arguably the most pro read offensive lineman which would be perfect for the Bucs who are in win now mode.
15: TRADE - Saints - Jordan Love - QB
There are always some stunning draft day trades, and the Saints pull one off to get Jordan Love. Jordan Love is a boom or bust prospect that can either be an MVP in the future, or the next Jameis Winston. He has some amazing plays but also some very questionable decisions. Put him behind Brees for a couple years and allow him to get coached by Sean Payton and he’ll reach his potential as a future MVP.
16: Falcons - CJ Henderson - CB
There’s some buzz that Henderson will go top 10, and he actually would’ve been a great fit for the Jaguars at 9 if they didn’t move up for Simmons. But due to trades and team needs, he falls right into the Falcons lap who need defensive help everywhere and would be ecstatic to draft him here.
17: Cowboys - K’Lavon Chaisson - EDGE
The Cowboys could use a corner or a pass rusher here. However, there will be some good corners available in round two, such as Trevon Diggs who will fall farther in the draft than expected. K’Lavon Chaisson is a fast edge rusher and him and Demarcus Lawrence will open up plays for each other.
18: Dolphins - Josh Jones - OT
After selecting their franchise quarterback who happens to be injury prone too, the Dolphins need to spend some picks on offensive line to protect him. Josh Jones is the 5th best offensive tackle in the draft, yet he’s still a very good one. Tua would love this pick.
19: Raiders - Patrick Queen - LB
The offenses in their division are talented, and the Raiders tried to keep up with them by picking Henry Ruggs earlier in the draft. However, to slow the opposing offenses, the Raiders need some help on defense. Queen fits the prototypical modern day linebacker as someone that you can trust in coverage.
20: Jaguars - A.J. Terrell - CB
The Jaguars are in need of a corner and A.J. Terrell would be the best one available here. Terrell is a long corner that loves playing in press man. With the additions of him and Simmons, along with the defense they already have, the Jaguars defense could be top 10.
21: Eagles - Brandon Aiyuk - WR
The Eagles wide receiver group last year was horrendous and they need tod raft one early. Aiyuk is quick receiver that is a great route runner.
22: Vikings - Kristian Fulton - CB
The Vikings badly need corner help, and Kristian Fulton is a top three corner in this years class.
23: Patriots - A.J. Epenesa - DL
A.J. Epenesa is the prototypical Patriots player. He’s versatile, being successful both rushing the passer as stopping the run. He won’t ever be great at one, but he’s a hard worker and you can always count on him to be involved in the play.
24: Broncos - Justin Jefferson - WR
The Broncos would leave day one as big winners as they acquire a few more picks by trading down and still get one of the top receivers in the class. Jefferson played great in LSU’s top offense, exceeding as a big (6′3, 192 lbs) and fast (4.43 40) slot receiver. Pair him with both Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant, and Drew Lock would have three great players to throw to. And with Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay at running back, the Broncos could have one of the top offenses in the league. In order to do that though, they’d need to improve their offensive line. This is a very deep offensive tackle class but they could draft one in round two.
25: Vikings - Kenneth Murray - LB
Kenneth Murray is arguably the second best linebacker in the class ahead of Patrick Queen. But because the Raiders like Queen more, Murray is available at 25. With the additions of Kristian Fulton and Kenneth Murray, the Vikings could keep alive their good defense, which lost some good players in free agency.
26: Dolphins - Cesar Ruiz - C
Some Dolphins fans will get angry that they don’t spend any of their last two first rounders on defense, but when you draft someone like Tua, you need to protect them. Ruiz is the best center in the draft, and getting him and Josh Jones would go a long way towards giving Tua the best way to reach his full potential.
27: TRADE: Dolphins - Yetur Gross-Matos - EDGE
Peter King said one thing he’s certain will happen in the draft is the Seahawks trading out of the first round. And if the Seahawks announce their pick is open for trade, the Dolphins will come calling as they have plenty of picks. The Dolphins reach a deal with Seattle and acquire Yetur Gross-Matos, the best pass rusher available here who can be a double digit sack player in the future. Although they’d be giving up lots of picks by trading up twice, first for Tua and now for Gross-Matos, leaving the first round with Tua, Josh Jones, Cesar Ruiz, and Yetur-Gross-Matos would be a success.
28: Ravens - Zack Baun - LB
Zack Baun can contribute both in coverage and as a pass rusher. He’s the missing part to the Ravens defense. The Ravens already improved their defense earlier in the offseason, but by drafting Baun they’d have everything they need on that side of the ball.
29: Titans - Marlon Davidson - DL
The Titans need to upgrade their defensive line. Davidson’s physicality and versatility would fit what the Titans are trying to do. The Titans already have an offense that can put up points however they need to, but improving their defense a little more would allow them to win even more close, low scoring games.
30: Packers - Tee Higgins - WR
The Packers absolutely will draft a wide receiver here. At the moment they only have one good receiver, Davante Adams, for Aaron Rodgers to throw to. Tee Higgins is a big receiver that can be a great red zone target. He also ran a 4.43 40, very impressive for his size at 6′3, 218 lbs. Tee Higgins could free up targets for Davante Adams and vise versa, and Aaron Rodgers would have another talented receiver that he can consistently throw the ball to.
31: 49ers - Jalen Reagor - WR
Jalen Reagor, like Brandon Aiyuk, is a quick receiver that is a great route runner. He’s reminiscent of Deebo Samuel, who the 49ers already have. Having two Deebo Samuel’s wouldn’t hurt the 49ers one bit.
32: Chiefs -  J.K. Dobbins - RB
The Chiefs could use a defensive player here, but Andy Reid could do endless things with the Chiefs offense if they drafted Dobbins. Dobbins is the best running back in a pretty talented running back class. Reid would be enraptured by this pick. Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Mecole Hardman, Sammy Watkins, and J.K. Dobbins. That’d be an insanely talented offense that would score 30 points on a down day.
