man i Really wish the undertale fanbase as a whole could acknowledge the complexities of asgore's character without jumping to extremes.

i just feel like i either see "grrrr he's the DEVIL and deserves NO REDEMPTION and anyone who likes him advocates for CHILD MURDER!"

or

"asgore did nothing wrong, his motives justify everything!!" or alternatively, "yeah he did a bad but TORIEL is SO MUCH WORSE ugh she's so overrated!! she was abusive and is the DEVIL!"

first off back up from my girl toriel i would die for her. obviously she's flawed too but she went thru hell and back and hating her to be different isn't as cool or quirky or smart as you think. if u want to debate me on why the vitriol against her is unwarranted, i will GLADLY oblige with a well sourced essay.

but second off!!

why on earth everything gotta be so black and white. why is it so hard to realize that YES, he did really bad stuff, but NO, it doesn't make him an irredeemable monster (lol). and YES, his motives are understandable and he was in a super tough situation, but NO, that doesn't just magically excuse his actions. in the wise words of an old friend: cool motive! still murder.

he did Very Bad things. but he isn't a bad person. but unfortunately, grey areas are kind of hard sometimes.

i just think it would be cool if we all stopped trying to claim he's either a perfect angel or a horrible demon. he is a guy who tried his best and made terrible mistakes. let him have his redemption arc.

Three things I've been meaning to draw: Pixel with their prosthetic limb, their crutches and with a skirt.

Pixel does like traditionally feminine clothing but it's so hard to dress them in 'girly' outfits because they work around machinery a lot so loose fabric is a no go. Plus they cannot wear anything without at LEAST two working pockets.

Also I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before but they use both a prosthetic leg and crutches to get around. Sometimes they use one or the other sometimes both. The prosthetic is handy for when they need to work in tight spaces around moving machinery. But it's a little heavy and it tires them out after using it for long periods without the crutches.

What if instead of sending all the senators and representative to DC we make them live the cheapest apartment in their base with members of the working middle and working poor and homeless people that comprise their constituents and make all their asses zoom conference to pass bills

house speaker or whatever their title is can mute whoever they’re most annoyed at

some of the oldest senators and reps would be unable to figure out how to connect and therefore wouldn’t get to vote

members of their household from their community hold them directly accountable for not passing tax cuts or not prioritizing education in budget etc and terrorize them into enacting people-oriented legislation by eating their leftovers, taking their clothes out of the washer halfway through, monopolizing the toilet, etc.

news agencies can’t twist the narrative because everyone else living in the house will simply present the public directly with livestreams about conversations directly with the politician

when you are talking face to face with someone you can’t just give them a quick tv interview carefully worded response you have to actually have a one on one direct conversation as person and person not politician and passive viewer who can’t, in fact, shout at the tv to be heard. this would humble the politicians and force them out of elitism of government posturing and theatre, and make them remind themselves that they are in fact a person

the constant surveillance will stop them colluding with extra governmental interests ie businesses and lobbyist groups like NRA and Christian groups etc because they simply would be caught in the act by the immigrant construction worker they share a bedroom wall with and the psychological decline caused by the paranoia of constantly being observed will make them very motivated to stop the police state if only because of the trauma we’ve inflicted upon them

also this will remind the public through livestreams that politicians are in fact people and therefore also fart, shit, walk around in their underwear, stun their toe on furniture and bleed. they do in fact bleed. and most things that bleed can be killed (except polar bears. they will eviscerate you.)
