Swimmer’s Tide
AP had found him during a hunt on Earth, he wasn't the tallest or strongest human he had ever seen in his life, but there was just something about him. He knew they we compatible ever since he laid his eyes on him, maybe it was the small amount of human DNA in his blood that made him feel like so.
Or maybe AP just never paid attention to humans in this way before, not that any of them deserved this kind of attention coming from him, he knew of stories and rumors of Yautjas deserting their clans for human mates and some going as far as to bring them into their own clans-, as if they were equal.
Disgusting.
Humans are pests, they are everywhere and many at once, weak as anything, needy and arrogant, annoying prey.
AP wasn't really expecting to fall for one, not in a million years, but then again, maybe that was what humans called ‘karma’. Nobody hated human mates like AP did….before he met his own, that is.
AP first saw him at what he supposed was his home, doing something AP never really saw a human do,
Swimming.
He swam peacefully around the vast pool in his backyard, moving his limbs freely with a calm expression on his face.
The sun had yet to fully come up, AP had completed his mission and was returning to his ship in the woods when he heard the water splashing.
The pink and orange hues from the horizon blended with the pool's blue ones, casting an almost heavenly light onto his skin, marbled as the light shifted with the waves his hands made in the water, short hair wet and stuck to his forehead, mouth slightly open as he huffed, trying to regain his breath.
AP had to go back to his clan, report his mission and well, go on with his life, but something called his attention back to the human male as he lifted himself off of the pool and reached for a nearby towel, probably done with his morning exercise.
AP didn't know if that man was beautiful to human standards, for he didn't detect anyone else in the house, or any sign that someone lived there with him, he didn't seem undesirable, but AP didn't know anything about human mating either.
But AP would be lying if he said he wasn't...captivated, for a second.
Upon arriving at his mothership, AP reported to his superiors and walked back to his quarters to rest from the trip. As he settled down, his mind kept drifting back to that one moment on earth.
AP knew himself well enough to know he was doomed, for the first time he wanted to touch a human but with no murder intent behind it, he was disgusted and ashamed, he went through so much to be the best enforcer, the strongest, the fastest-,
And all of that to unite himself to a human?
Well, not that anyone would say anything, considering AP's impeccable challenge matches and that he could beat the lights out of anyone in this ship if he so much desired to. If they appreciated their lives, they would stay quiet.
He sounded like a youngblood, foolish, cocky, and well, foolish.
He saw this human once.
Maybe if he saw him again, observed him? Maybe if he studied him…Maybe then he'd come back to himself and his firm opinion on how pathetic and useless humans are.
"I'll be going to earth again", he informed his commander, the very next day.
"So soon? There were no calls, that quadrant is dealt with for now. Unless you're going for...recreational purposes?"
Recreational, sure.
"I have my eyes set on some human maggots I found during the quest".
"Then good luck on your hunt, may Paya be with you", his commander told him, like he told everyone who went somewhere to hunt, being a commander sure sounded tedious.
AP restocked his ship that same day, not being one for patience, he debated whether or not bringing his dogs with him, and decided he shouldn't underestimate the humans, even if he didn't plan on doing anything too serious in their home planet.
Opening the space bridge, AP turned his ships invisibility on and set the course to where he pinpointed the human's house, he wasn't stopping in the same forest for he wasn't stupid, it would be a walk but he didn't mind nor care, as long as he did what he had to do, it was fine.
-
"Right there, see?"
"No, not really, are you sure you saw uh...what did you say it was?"
"The light shifted there as if there was a...well I don't know, like when you splash water and it’s transparent but still visible? But up there"
"I think you just had water in your lashes man, there's nothing up there, or maybe it was some mist? You said it was early morning"
"I don't know...it sure did freak me out bad, ran inside as soon as I saw it"
"What, you thought someone was coming for you? Out of everyone around here? There's a drug dealer like next door"
"You heard about the bloody murders they found last week?"
"Oh come on"
"I'm totally serious, dude!"
"I know you are, that's why we're going back inside and we're going to play some video game and drink that whole cooler of soda I bought, you promised me, come on", his friend said, grabbing his arm and all but dragging him back inside.
Glancing one last time close to the trees, he sighed and got inside.
-
AP landed on earth in the opposite direction of his initial mission, stretching his legs outside his ship as he scanned the area, deciding where he’d place his traps to ensure no one would find his ship while he was out.
Taking a brief look at his map, AP glanced at the direction where the house would be and set for it, jumping up the trees and past them, going as fast as being silent allowed him to.
- “I think you’re overreacting man, I mean-, fuck how did you get that boost, fuck you! I mean, they did say on TV that the murders were like animal-based or some shit”, his friend said, turning the controller according to his Mario Kart character, like it’d help him in any way. “Animal-based? What the fuck-”,
“Yeah like some bear on steroids killed those people and shit-, fuck!”
“One of the men was ripped in three, dude, three! Three different parts of one single body!”
“It’s the police report, not mine, now stop fucking cheating you rat”, his friend laughed, pushing his arm as they finished their match.
“Police report my ass, they wouldn’t drop the classes if it was just some bear…”, He said, getting up from the couch, hand going through his short locks as he walked over to the fridge.
“Are you eager to go back to college? Cause I sure as fuck am not, Mr.Merman.”
“Shut the fuck up, Ethan” , He snapped, closing the fridge. “I’m gonna go out to buy food, you stay here and entertain yourself while I’m out, try not to break anything, will you? Ass”, he rolled his eyes, grabbing his wallet from the counter and heading out.
“Get me a turkey sandwich!”, He heard as he slammed the door closed, jogging down the stairs from the front porch and down to the street, the sun was beginning to set, orange and golden hues spreading against his skin and clothing as he walked.
He walked for about a minute before the very same dread feeling came back to him, made his hairs stand on end, and a chill run down his spine, jaw tightening shut, he stopped walking, slowly looking around. He felt like prey, like a deer staring into the fast coming lights that would surely be his death.
The street was one that seemed to come out of a horror movie, eerily quiet, only leaves hustling about. No children playing on the sidewalk, working people probably already inside their houses, only him and whatever was watching him about.
Looking up at the trees on the other side of the street, he squinted, trying hard to see anything and dreading seeing it as well. Seconds passed by and he decided to brush it off, if it was the murderer, he would have been dead already, and if it really was ‘a bear on steroids’ like his friend said, he’d hear it from a good distance, right?
“Right…” He muttered to himself, resuming his walk down the street to the grocery store.
From up the trees, cloaked, AP chuckled to himself. ‘At least he’s not stupid, or well…that stupid. AP had gotten to the house only to find another male there, one he didn’t know of, it wasn’t his human, he didn’t care. Seeing the trail of his human’s scent out the door, AP followed it until he spotted him, while human wore too much clothing to a Yautja’s liking, the tight fabric clung to his form, clearly displaying the adapted body of a swimmer. Tall, broad shoulders, long limbs, toned muscles, thin waist, strong legs.
AP’s head slowly cocked to the side as he so shamelessly watched the human’s legs flex as they walked, gaze slowly coming back up to his rear, lingering there for a few seconds before moving upwards to his back.
They were definitely compatible.

How long has it been since you’ve moved away from your hometown? Too long, apparently. There were some stores that closed down with new ones taking their place, buildings renovated and even a new road was added to cut travel time. Everything felt familiar to you, but also distant. You were born and raised here, but this was no longer your home.
When that invite for your high school reunion arrived at your apartment in the city, you debated whether you should go back. You had a lot of bittersweet memories there, but you were curious of what happened to your classmates. You’ve changed a lot since you graduated from high school and you hoped that certain people had changed for the better as well.
You went a week before the reunion, staying in a spare room of your mother’s new house. It was spacious and homely, filled with everything that your mother had always wanted, including a garden and a greenhouse in the backyard. Your parents had divorced a year after you graduated, something that had been a long time coming and they still remain friends. You could sense a heavyweight leaving your mother’s shoulders when the paperwork went through and you had helped her move out.
Throughout the week, you got situated in the spare room, making it your own for the times that you plan on visiting, as well as helping out with the garden. You always wanted one growing up, but your father was against the idea, claiming that it was too much maintenance that he didn’t want to do. It was peaceful in the backyard with fairy lights hanging around the patio. Oftentimes, you and your mother would drink a warm beverage and talk on the patio, catching up with each other and reminiscing. She had heard that some of your classmates stayed, some went to the military, and some even she hadn’t heard about in a while.
-
You were lounging in the backyard, reading an old book that you had in high school when an orange tabby hopped the fence and meowed. You bookmarked your page and sat up, seeing the orange tabby sit a few feet ahead of you, licking their paw.
“Hey, there, little one,” you said, reaching a hand out.
The tabby paused their cleaning, tentatively leaning forward to sniff your hand. When they realized you were good people, they rubbed against your palm and stepped towards you. Once they got closer, you realized the cat was female, her name tag reading Millicent Hux. Huh, you knew a Hux in high school. You had a crush on him for a year, and you remembered the whole school found out and he never spoke to you again because of all the teasing.
“Excuse me!” someone called out.
You turned away from Millicent and saw a tall and pale ginger man waving from the other side of the fence. He paused his waving when it registered just who he was waving to. You stood up with Millicent in your arms and made your way towards the fence.
“Armitage?” you asked in disbelief.
He smiled. “Yeah, that’s me. Lanky Armi,” he said with a shrug, “I didn’t know you were in town. Here for the reunion?”
“Yeah. I assume this is your cat,” you said, raising Millicent up.
“Yeah, I was about to take her out to the vet when she ran out of her carrier. Thank god she ended up here instead of hanging out by the road.” He grabbed Millicent from you, carrying her like a baby. “You look good.”
“You, too.”
He scoffed, shrugging off the compliment. “Still lanky and pale.”
“Are you going, too?”
He nodded. “I’ve seen a few of our classmates that had arrived earlier this week,” he said, hesitating to continue, “I, uh, saw Ben, too.”
“Oh,” you said, surprised.
From the way that Armitage said that, it meant that he knew or at least had an idea of what happened between you and Ben. They were close friends, after all. You never painted Ben as someone that cared for such gatherings. Sentimentality wasn’t his best trait. You weren’t sure how to feel about his presence in town.
Armitage cleared his throat, regretting about saying anything. “Well, I’ll see you around, then. Would love to stay and catch up, but this one needs her shots.”
“Alright, it was nice seeing you again, Armi,” you said, smiling, “And nice to meet you, too, Millicent.”
You walked back to your reading spot and sighed. Given the size of this town, you were surprised you hadn’t ran into anyone from school before now, and it was a pleasant surprise. Armitage was always tall and lanky, but he looked more mature and had a more lean build. He had always been a good kid, he was just easily influenced by others around him and you were disappointed that he had succumbed to it. He seemed to have gotten over that and you were glad that you could talk like friends, possibly making up for lost time. There was a classmate or two that you had ran into as adults that still maintained their immature personalities from school. You wondered how everyone else turned out.
-
Your mother had gone on a cooking spree on the first two days you were there and needed to restock the fridge. You volunteered to go grocery shopping but had to use google maps to find the address that the store had relocated to. Once there, the layout was relatively the same, just in a slightly bigger space.
While looking for a specific cereal brand that your mother insisted on eating, you heard someone clear his throat nearby. You wordless moved to the side, thinking you were in the way of something. You heard a soft chuckle before he spoke.
“(Y/n),” he said.
Your head shot up and you were met with a grinning Finn. “Oh, my god! Hi, how are you?” you asked excitedly.
“I’m good. Real good,” he said, pulling you into a hug. It was then you noticed a young woman around your age standing next to him with a sweet smile that showed off her dimples. “Rey, this is my old friend (Y/n). (Y/n), this is my fiancee, Rey.”
“Nice to meet you,” you said, turning to Rey.
She pulled you into another hug. “It’s nice to meet you, too. Finn told me a lot about his time at high school. He only has good things to say about you.”
“Well, that’s nice of him,” you said, raising an eyebrow at Finn.
He shrugged, wrapping an arm around Rey. “What can I say? I’m a nice guy.”
“I expect to hear all the embarrassing stories of him,” Rey whispered to you.
You smiled and said, “Oh, I have an arsonal full of those. Maybe we can meet up later. I’ve gotta get these groceries back to my mom first.”
Finn looks down at your cart, seeing beef, tomato sauce, vegetables, and other miscellaneous items. His eyes widened in excitement. “Is your mom making her famous beef stew?”
“Hell yeah!”
He groaned, thinking back to those times he used to come over your house for dinner and that first time he tried your mother’s beef stew. Ever since then, he always requested that she make it, or at least pack a container that he could take home and share with his family who loved it as well. His father would joke that two of you should get married once you two graduate, but marriage had never been a priority for you, and Finn knew that. You had different ideas of the future and respected the other’s decision for it, which was why your breakup was amicable and the two of you remained friendly and supportive of each other.
“I’ll see if my mom can pack some for you and Rey,” you said as you walked towards your cart.
Finn grinned, patting you on the shoulder. “I knew I could count on you. Rey, you gotta try it! It’s so good.”
“Alright, I look forward to it,” Rey said, “It was nice meeting you.”
“You, too,” you said, then asked Finn, “Are you staying over at your parent’s house?”
“Yeah, same house, too. I’ll be showing Rey around for the rest of the week, but you can stop by anytime to see my folks. I’m sure they’ll be happy to see you,” Finn said.
“Alright. I’ll see you when I see you, then,” you said before walking away.
You smiled to yourself as you left, having seen the way that they spoke and looked at each other. Their happiness was infectious and you couldn’t help but be happy for them. Your worries that you had before coming back slowly seeped away after pleasantly running into Armitage and Finn. Maybe it wasn’t so bad after all. You’re all adults now, surely it won’t be like that Romi and Michelle movie, though flying away in a helicopter looked pretty cool.
-
The park that you used to frequent seemed to have an upgrade with an added baseball field, more restroom facilities, an area with exercise equipment, and even a water fountain near the clearing away from the fields. You sat near the water fountain where there were painted picnic tables shaded by trees, a new journal and fountain pen sat in front of you as you brushed off the leaves from the table.
With your headphones on, you tried to get back into the writing zone that you’ve been hoping that your trip back to your hometown would help you with. When you left town, you went off to pursue your writing career, entering writing contests and having short stories published. Your new goal was to finish a novel. You would always start a story, but always got stuck on something and never finished it. Writing contests and published short stories could only get you so far and unless you wanted to keep churning out new short stories at a time, hoping that they’ll get through and be published, just to pay your bills, you needed to finish that novel.
You started small, writing down ideas, hoping that visually having them on the page instead of floating in your mind would help. Then, you took some of those ideas and jotted down plot points that the story could have. You continued this until you got into the flow of writing a rough draft for one of them.
Your timer went off, reminding you to head back home before it got dark. You finished your last thought before capping your pen and packing your things away. The sun hung low in the sky, a cool breeze rustling the trees, making you wish you brought a light jacket.
You got to your old car, you tried to open the backseat door that wouldn’t budge. It had always caused you problems like this, but you kept it because it at least got you where you needed to go. You sighed, yanking the door handle again before giving up. After years of forcing that door open, the handle looked like it was going to fall off.
“Still haven’t fixed that door, I see,” a voice said with amusement.
You turned to face the source of the voice and froze. Poe freaking Dameron stood in front of you, dressed in gray sweats with his military camp printed on the front and the side, dark spots stained near his armpits and his neck from sweat. He became impossibly more handsome since the last time you’ve seen him. He gave you a wide smile, one that made many of your fellow classmates swoon in infatuation at him and glare in envy at you, showing you the Poe you knew from school.
He briefly turned to open the backseat of his truck, taking out a hand towel to wipe himself down. “Back in town for the reunion?” he asked.
“Yeah. You, too?”
He nodded. “Everyone’s happy that I’m finally taking time off that’s more than two to three days. Apparently I’m a workaholic? Don’t know why,” he said with a shrug.
You raised an eyebrow. He definitely knew why. For as long as you’ve known him, once he got into something, he put his all into it. Joining a sports team? He’d practice during any free time that he had and become an mvp or team captain. Getting into music? He’d started a band that played during homecoming week and at school events. He even composed and wrote his own songs. It was his strongest and weakest trait. You loved his passion, but that passion would sometimes make him forget everything else.
“Huh, what’s your new obsession now?” you asked, leaning against your car.
Poe mirrored you with his truck as he wiped excess sweat from his hair. “Flying… it’s something that I picked up when I was in the military,” he said.
“Oh,” you said, looking down before clearing your throat to try and appear unphased, “What kind of flying?”
“After I left the military, I missed flying and travelling, so I got into doing helicopter tours in a few countries. Just a couple of years ago, I started to fly commercial airplanes. There’s a whole process with that one, but it was worth it.”
“That sounds cool. I know you’ve always wanted to fly those airplanes,” you said.
He nodded. “Yeah, funny how life works, right? You plan something, you end up doing something else, but if it was meant to be, you somehow end up where you had always wanted to go.”
“Yeah, I’m still waiting for that to happen to me,” you muttered.
“You got published, though,” he pointed out, “They’re short stories, but it’s a start. Your writing is amazing, (Y/n). I know you’ll get there.”
The corner of your lips turned up. There goes his award winning pep talks again. You didn’t know that he was even aware of the work that you’ve done. It didn’t do much for you personally, but you were glad that he hadn’t changed too much,
“Thanks, Poe,” you said, opening your driver’s seat door.
“Hey, can I say something before you go?” he asked before you could climb into your car. You paused, turning to face him. “Look, I know I should have told you that I enlisted, but I don’t regret going. I only wished that we had the chance to work it out, maybe take you with me if I could, if you wanted to. Or at the very least, parted on better terms.”
You avoided his eyes as you tried to find the right words to say. There were so many things you wished you had said on the day he told you about his enlistment. It was all too late to bring them up now. It wasn’t going to change the fact that you two broke up over it. You should at least clear the air, so there wouldn’t be any misunderstandings, though, but you were stubborn. You never wanted to admit it, but while your break up with Finn had been easy and painless, breaking up with Poe was one of the hardest things you had to go through.
“I… I understood why you did it,” you said, “And I should have stopped to think about your perspective instead of getting angry and I’m sorry. It’s my fault that we ended things like that.”
Poe sighed, knowing that there was more that you wanted to say. Another thing that you loved and hated about him was his ability to read you. When there was no reply from him, you climbed in your car, shutting the door harder than you intended. While you were turning the engine on and fiddling with the radio, Poe stepped closer, leaning a hand on the roof of your car.
“Could we meet somewhere?” he asked softly, “You know, just to catch up?”
You leaned back in your seat, drumming your fingers on the steering wheel. “I’m running some errands tomorrow. Does lunch at the usual diner work for you?”
Poe smiled. “Sure, yeah. I’ll meet you there tomorrow, then.”
That night, you sat on your bed, wondering why your heart was racing while thinking about tomorrow. It had been so long since you and Poe sat down and talked. Meeting him tomorrow meant that you would have to eventually address all the things that were left unsaid, all the questions that were left unanswered, and all the things that had happened after going your separate ways. You doubt that the two of you could start over, given your different career paths, but maybe you could at least be on speaking terms.

Once Bitten, Twice Stupid prt.34
Lance hummed as he drove. Picking pizza up from Sal’s was the most normal part of his day. His long day. His long, long, long day. Curtis hadn’t seen much of Garrison, so Lance had been stuck explaining how things worked in the town. Then he’d been stuck explaining who Hunk and Pidge were, followed by showing Curtis videos of their adventures in the search for ghosts. Basically it’d been a whole day of actively avoiding talking about why Curtis was there, and what was going on with his body. Now Curtis was in the back of the car, while Keith safe guarded the pizzas in the front as Lance hummed to his “dad” music, happy the day was soon to be over...
“Look, a grocery store. Is that where you normally shop?”
And there went his humming
“Yep”
“Can we check it out?”
“Not today”
“Why not? It’s open”
“And how am I going to explain you?”
“I’m a friend of Keith’s?”
Lance didn’t want to take Curtis shopping... but that wouldn’t be giving the man a chance to adapt to his surrounds. Slowing down, Lance started indicating, before turning into the closest parking space for a quick escape
“Five minutes. In and out. No talking to strangers”
Keith sighed at him, probably thinking he was a push over... which he was kind of being
“Thank you. It’s been a while since I’ve been out and able to stretch my legs. Most of my work’s been in the labs in Platt. The curse makes it hard to socialise”
“I can imagine. Keith, you coming in?”
“Someone has to watch you two”
Garrison had done what it did best. Rumours over what had happened at the pub followed Keith and Lance around like a bad smell. Turning to ask Curtis what kind of food he liked, he found he’d left him back at the DVD’s while Keith was already ahead of in the frozen section. The pair of them were worse than children. How was he supposed to shop for them if they weren’t beside him. At least Keith hadn’t seemed to notice the whispers, Lance not sure if Curtis had, of if he had normal hearing despite the curse. With one idiot distracted by frozen meals and less likely to get himself in trouble, Lance back tracked to Curtis
“See something you like?”
“I used to love wrestling... I know it’s corny and staged...”
“Then grab a few DVDs”
“It’s okay”
Lance reached out, grabbing the first wrestling DVD he found. Yeah, he didn’t get wrestling, but it wasn’t like he was buying the DVDs for him
“If you’re living at my house, it’s okay to like what you like. They’re like 5 bucks each. Grab a few. Same goes for anything you like eating, and toiletries. There’s spares in the guest bathroom, but I understand wanting your own stuff”
“I thought you didn’t like me”
Lance bit down a groan, his anti-people side had been strong
“It’s not that I don’t. I don’t know you and I don’t want to leap right into my sex life with a stranger. Plus, I don’t know what to make of you, I’ve never met someone cursed before, but I think it’d be a douche move to judge you over something you can’t control”
“I can see why Keith likes you so much”
Lance’s face burnt in a flash. Soulmates... the thing he’d kind of always wanted to believe in with all that love and stuff, now seemed to be a real thing. He didn’t think Keith was his soulmate, but he also didn’t not want to kiss him
“We’re friends”
“In the time I knew Keith, he was never one to talk as he is now. He had a tough childhood, not knowing his mother was a hunter until he was under threat. Shiro said he didn’t have the best or safest life before they joined up”
That was the kind of thing he wanted to learn from Keith. It felt like a betrayal in trust to hear it from anyone other than him
“Keith and I have talked. I told him that I want to hear about him, from him. I know you cant help it, but maybe you can tell me less. When they leave, I probably won’t see him again. I don’t want to be more attached than I already am”
“Nonsense. Shiro and Keith are transferring to Platt. I’m quite sure he’d be keen to remain friends with you. He seems to think a little better about vampires having met you”
“It’s taken us weeks to get this close. I’m not ruining that with some notion of fate and soulmates. He’s an idiot but under that he still has a lot of trauma to work through. Now pick your movies out. We’ll be down the end of the isle when you’re ready”
With how sheltered things had seemed to be for Curtis, Lance shouldn’t have been surprised when came back with an armload of DVDs. Lance didn’t have the heart to break it to him that most of them could be streamed now. Maybe cursed people didn’t get on with technology. The toaster had gone up in flames within seconds of Curtis putting the bread in. Keith seeming broody as Curtis placed the DVDs in the cart, like a child who wasn’t getting as much attention as his “brother”
“Don’t be like that. You can get whatever you want. You probably need more underwear and socks by now. They do have some clothes here. You two go pick out anything you need, while I find us a new another new toaster. I liked the last one... and the one before that... No more roasting for the pair of you”
Keith cast a glare at Curtis
“Now look what you did. You got us both in trouble”
“I honestly don’t know how it happened”
“Well this is your fault. You haven’t even apologised”
“It was kind of hard to when you both disappeared”
“We didn’t disappear. We were talking”
Keith was getting too defensive. Lance didn’t need a repeat of last time the hunter tried to stand up for him. The pair really were like children
“That’s enough. Just go be somewhere else already. And don’t go making a scene, some of us still have to live here after the pair of you fuck off”
Keith crossed his arms, an obvious sign he was internally sulking. Curtis simply sighed
“You’re right. I am sorry about your toaster. We’ll do better”
“Thank you. Now go away”
Having wallowed, Lance restocked his favourite snacks, aware he was going to have to hide them away before everyone showed up. Curtis and Keith both obeyed his order to find underwear, Lance wondering if he should get a permanent marker to start labelling things now that there’d be 5 men in his house, though he wasn’t sure how long Curtis would staying. Hopefully not too long, their 5 minute trip had blown out of proportion, Lance having to find refuge in the back fridges when his body suddenly grew unbearably warm and the back of his underwear grew damp. He would have climbed in there if he could have, dealing with Keith was one thing, now he had two idiots under his roof and two peoples feelings to consider. Coming up behind him, Keith made him jump by poking him in the back, Lance spinning around to glare at his friend who’s face immediately fell
“Sorry. You usually notice”
“It’s not your fault. I was debating whether to climb in there or not. It’s really fucking hot all of a sudden”
“Your face is flushed... and you smell sweet. We should get out of here”
Shit he’d been too busy indulging Curtis that the bat thing slipped from the front of his mind. Turning into a bat would be disastrous
“Crap... Here, take my wallet. The pin’s 1470. I’ll wait in the car. Just pay for everything”
“Lance, you don’t need to panic”
“I do if I suddenly turn into a bat. I should have said no...”
Keith’s face softened, his expression changing to one of caring, which Lance couldn’t handle right now
“No. It’s okay. I’ll handle this. Don’t eat all the pizza without me”
Thank god Keith was coping with him being dramatic. He was so goddamn stupid. What if he’d turned? What if he’d fallen right in there with yoghurt and was forced to live the rest of his life as a bat to escape the shame...
Waiting for Keith and Curtis, the pair of them came out with way too many bags. A normal person would have left them in the trolley until they were closer to the car, then gather them all up in an attempt not to do a second trip. Not these two. Curtis was happily sucking on a lollipop, while Keith looked like he’d sucked on a lemon. Remaining in the driver’s seat, Lance wasn’t getting in the way. The two men had once been friends, Lance had the feeling they needed to reconnect or Keith would continue to be miserable and held back by his past. Keith needed friends, he needed to know he could move past the things that still haunted his dreams, and that was okay to be happy. Being happy didn’t mean he had to forget his time with Adam, it meant accepting that something awful had happened and Adam wouldn’t want him hurting.
When the two “kids” had loaded up the shopping, Keith nearly landed in Lance’s lap with how fast he tried to climb into the front, Curtis climbing up to squash the three of them into place on the bench seat
“That was fun! Thank you, Lance. We noticed you hadn’t chosen a toaster, so Keith selected one for you”
Keith huffed, pulling the pizza boxes down off the dash
“Dobber”
Distracted by how damn hot he’d been, thoughts of a toaster went out with window with the need to cool down
“Children, don’t make me put both of you in a time out”
Curtis laughed, while Keith’s frown deepened
“I’m not a child”
“Of course not. Thank you for remembering”
Lance leaned over and kissed Keith on the cheek, not quite sure why.
His movements drew Curtis’s attentions
“Lance, could it be you feel suddenly aroused?”
Nope. Not having that conversation
“Keith did something nice, I was thanking him”
“Your face is flushed, pupils are wide, and your emitting a scent much like a werewolf in mating season. Flashes of arousal will come with the changes in your body as you prepare for breeding. There’s no need to be embarrassed, it’s quite normal and will be quite unexpected as your body settles”
Oooh... that kind of made sense... too much sense... Just another way to make him feel even shittier about the changes
“Curtis, you know that talk we had? Can we please not discuss my body. Right now, I want to go home, eat some bad pizza and have a glass of wine. My body is off limits until further notice”
“Sorry, it was just an observation that you seem quite flustered around Keith”
“I don’t care if you’re cursed, Lance doesn’t want to talk about it, so we’re not talking about it”
Lance was tempted to thank Keith, but Keith needed to stop standing up for him. He couldn’t take it. It made him all nervous and sent his thoughts about Keith south of his belt. It was bad enough he got these hot flushes, now Keith knew what they meant... Now Keith was going to be weird about it, and Lance was going to have to not be weird about it, and there was going to be a whole of weirdness that he definitely didn’t want between them when it was weird enough they’d had sex dreams about each other. Keith was all about taking responsibility... Lance didn’t want him trying to take responsibility for him being horny and deciding he had to handle Lance’s condition with sex when these weird waves came. His body being so damn weird was probably what was drawing Keith to him, not any kind of actual affections, just smell induced reaction. The thought was depressing. Keith probably didn’t like him at all, and once freed from being around him constantly, the man would most probably make a very conscious effort to avoid him. It wasn’t like being at step one with Keith, it was like nearly reaching the finish line only to find someone had jumped the gun so the whole race was meaningless.
Starting his bronco, Lance didn’t bother scolding Keith and Curtis for not wearing their seatbelts. With a little bit of luck they’d all die horribly and the topic of his body would never be spoken of again.

Double The Trouble (Part 3)
Tumblr media
Summary: After getting back to Austin for the summer, the reader’s relationship with the boys finally gets to a good place...
Masterlist
Pairing: Jared x reader x Jensen
Word Count: 5,300ish
Warnings: language, implied smut, little bit of angst, fluff
The day went by quickly. Both boys needed to restock their houses after being away for a few weeks and you helped clean or whatever needed to be done. You were coming in from setting the trash from dinner down in the garage when you saw them both sitting on the living room couch, staring out the dark back window, a storm about to roll in.
“She seems much better today,” said Jensen.
“Yeah. She’s a blend of us. Hopefully she knows we understand and aren’t angry with her,” he said.
“I think she does,” said Jensen.
“Jay. Don’t hold back. She’s your girlfriend too,” said Jared. “You’re allowed to give her a hug or kiss without me being around you know.”
“I’m a bit of a chickenshit at the start of a relationship but you already knew that,” said Jensen, giving him a quiet laugh.
“This one’s different for more than one reason though,” said Jared.
“Very true,” said Jensen. You made your way over to them, putting on one of Jensen’s records quietly before taking a seat between them on the couch. Jared leaned over and rested his head on your shoulder, listening to the thunder crack and a flash of lightning fill the room. Jensen was a bit tense, watching the first heavy fat drops hit the windows.
You nudged closer to Jensen, bringing Jared with you. You nestled your head on Jensen’s chest while you tucked into his side and threw one arm behind his back, your other wrapped around Jared’s shoulders. Jensen glanced down at you as if he wasn’t sure what to do before quickly moving his left arm around you, his right pulling himself closer to you, grazing the place where Jared had wrapped his own arm around you.
“I could get used to this,” you said.
“Mhm,” hummed Jared. You tilted your head up to Jensen, getting a nod and smile from him.
“Me too,” he said.
Over the next three weeks, the three of you eased into a rhythm of having fun during the day, date nights, concerts, getting lost exploring the city. Jensen had completely come out of his shell with you. Jared seemed happier than you’d ever seen and the boys were often laughing together like you’d heard a million times.
And then you saw your face online one Sunday morning, pictures of you kissing Jared and Jensen out on a date from two nights before. To make it worse, they were at a con, right that second. Someone would surely ask about it. You’d probably ruined both their careers in an instant.
You barely had time to start properly freaking out when you got a text from Jared.
Hey. We just saw. Take a deep breath for us. We know you’re freaking out. We love you, that hasn’t changed. We’ll call as soon as the panel is over. We knew this would happen someday. It’s alright. You’re our girl and we’ll be home as soon as we can.
You took the deep breath as instructed, taking another before you felt yourself calm down a little. He was right. You all knew it was coming. You just wished you’d gotten a little more time before the world started calling you a freak.
“Hey,” said Jared, brushing your hair out of your face when he walked in the bedroom that night. You rolled over from staring out the back window, Jensen setting down his bag before he was over too. “You were crying all day, weren’t you.”
“This is going to affect your jobs and future jobs and-”
“And we said our piece when the question got brought up at the con. You’re ours and if we couldn’t handle some mean internet comments, we wouldn’t be in this business in the first place,” said Jensen. He sat on the edge of the bed, resting your head in his lap while Jared wiped off your face with his sleeve.
“And shockingly...there’s a whole lot more support out there than there is hate,” said Jared. You lifted your head, both of them giving you smiles. “Socially, sure it’s a bit different. But we’re not doing anything wrong or bad and the fans even told us how happy we looked and acted at the con. Even if they thought different, this is our lives, us three. I’m not giving you up ever and neither is Jensen.”
“Okay,” you said, nuzzling your head back into Jensen’s leg, trying to lean into Jared’s hand on your cheek but having a hard time deciding which way to go.
“Someone wants a cuddle,” said Jensen, bending down and kissing you. “I’m gonna shower quick if you want first dibs, Jare.”
“I’ll take it,” he said. Jensen headed into the bathroom, Jared following him and returning with a warm washcloth, bending down in front of you when you sat up. He helped clean off your face, bumping his nose to yours when he finished. “Okay baby?”
“Yeah. I didn’t want anyone to say anything bad to you guys,” you said, closing your eyes. “You don’t deserve that.”
“You don’t either,” he said, pressing his lips to yours. “I love you.”
“I love you,” you said.
“Did you grab some dinner?” he asked.
“Yeah. I put the leftovers in the fridge for you guys,” you said.
“Mind if I get some before our cuddle?” he asked.
“No,” you said, giggling slightly. “No, I’m feeling better now. I was more scared about losing you guys but I don’t think I ever had to be worried about that.”
“Never, baby,” he said. “I’ll be back in a minute if you want to relax.”
“Alright,” you said. Jared took off and you stood up to stretch, spotting their open bags with dirty clothes. You gathered them up and tossed them in the basket. You debated going in the bathroom but you’d be in and out quick to grab Jensen’s dirty ones. You ducked inside and picked them up off the floor, nearly out of there when the steamed up shower door opened and you caught sight of wet feet. You slammed your eyes shut, Jensen shuffling around for a moment.
“I could have gotten the laundry,” he said gently. You shook your head, a wet finger grazing your cheek. “You can open your eyes, honey.”
Keeping your head high, you opened your eyes, catching Jensen’s green ones staring back. His hair was dark, spiked up in some places, matted down in others.
“You look so cute,” you said, smiling for a moment like he wasn’t there.
“You too,” he said. You kept your gaze up, Jensen chuckling before he rested his thumb on your chin. “I got a towel on. You can look.”
“We haven’t done this yet,” you breathed out.
“You’ve seen me without a shirt on before,” he said.
“You’re pretty much naked,” you said.
“Almost,” he said. “It is a bit nerve wracking.”
“Jensen,” you said, hearing a hum from him as your gaze went down to his chest. “Maybe tomorrow. Not tonight.”
“Hey, no pressure. Ever,” he said.
“I know. But I think it’s time,” you said.
“Whatever you want, honey.”
“Alright you two crazy kids,” said Jared the next night, hopping up from the couch. “I’m crashing at my place tonight. Have some responsible fun now.”
He gave you a wink and a kiss, smirking at Jensen.
“Don’t let this one handle you too hard,” he teased.
“She can handle me however she wants,” said Jensen back.
“Have fun guys,” said Jared. The house was quiet after he left, Jensen rubbing the back of his neck.
“Come on,” you said. You slid over next to him on the couch and straddled his hips, Jensen staring up with hooded eyes as you threw your arms around the back of his neck.
“I so didn’t strike you as an on top kind of girl,” he said. “Not that I have a problem with that.”
“We’re both nervous and I remember the first time I did this with Jared he gave me some advice,” you said.
“Which was?” he breathed out.
“Just kiss me and I’m yours,” you said. “I wasn’t so nervous once we got into it all.”
“I think I better kiss you then,” he said. He shot a hand to the back of your head, pulling you in as you leaned forward. He was more serious than Jared, more serious than his usual self even. You pulled back for a split second, staring him down. He smirked and gently tugged on your bottom lip, turning it into more of a game, a game you were enjoying as he rolled you off his lap and onto the couch. He leaned over you, taking control for a minute, slowing the kiss down. You pushed back on his shoulders until his back hit the cushions, Jensen panting quietly as you planted a harsh kiss on him.
“Bedroom,” you said. He nodded his head, smiling wide. You pulled him to his feet and into his room, kissing a few more times as you took your time undoing the buttons on his shirt. You pushed the material to the floor, Jensen hooking his thumbs at the bottom of your own shirt and pushing it over your head. You felt your cheeks start to heat up but ignored it as you kept undressing one another. When he spun around to kick off his jeans you froze up, wrapping your arms over yourself.
“Hey,” he said, a certain softness in his voice you hadn’t heard before. He gently took hold of your hands but didn’t pry them away from your body. “You’re beautiful.”
“Sorry. Still nervous,” you said.
“Me too,” he said. “Do you want to keep going?”
You smiled and nodded, giving him a kiss while you moved your hands away. You felt his own rest on your hips, his thumbs rubbing circles into the skin.
“You are gorgeous,” he murmured.
“Why don’t you take the rest off,” you breathed out. He hummed and moved his hand around your back, working your bra off, keeping his gaze focused on your face while you shimmied out of your underwear.
“Correction. You’re fucking gorgeous,” he said. You giggled, Jensen pulling you closer to the bed. You ran your thumbs over the edge of his boxer briefs, glancing down to see him straining to get out of them. “S’okay.”
You pushed the underwear down, blinking slowly a few times as he kicked them aside. His cheeks were a little pink by the time you looked up.
“I guess they’re right about everything being bigger in Texas,” you said.
“I don’t think you’ll have a problem with that,” he said, working you back towards the bed. You sat down on it, Jensen smiling as he sank down to his knees. You tilted your head, Jensen tsking you. “Ladies first.”
“I hope you’re not a gentleman all the time,” you said.
“Oh no, not at all. But tonight, I’m all yours.”
The covers were mostly kicked off when you woke up the next morning, Jensen wearing a soft and sleepy smile while he lay beside you.
“Morning,” he said, kissing you and moving some hair out of your face. “Have fun last night?”
“Yeah,” you said, kissing his bicep when you were too lazy to move. He chuckled and lifted your chin up, leaning over for you. “I’m glad we finally did that.”
“I’m not sure I’m quite ready to have someone else in the room or bed yet,” he said, getting a nod from you. “But maybe someday.”
“I don’t think any of us are there yet,” you said. “Want to get Jared over for breakfast?”
“I already texted him. He’s bringing it over,” he said.
“Mmm, smart boys. Glad I fell for the smart boys,” you said. “Better get up for him then.”
“We can stay a few more minutes,” said Jensen, flashing you a smirk.
“Alright. Alright. A few more.”
“Hey Jare bear,” you said that night, sticking your head in his bedroom. He said he wasn’t feeling well that afternoon and he decided to stay at his own place, claiming he didn’t want to get you or Jensen sick. He hadn’t acted like it, only a bit more quiet than usual but if he didn’t feel good, you’d take him at his word.
He was asleep in bed and you gave him a sad smile. You pulled out some medicine and tissues for him you’d bought and set them on his nightstand, refilling his glass of water from the bathroom. He sighed quietly and you spun around, Jared popping open an eye slowly.
“Hey babe. You feeling okay?” you asked, rubbing your hand over his head. He didn’t feel warm and he barely met your gaze. “You’re not sick, huh.”
“Sorry. I shouldn’t have lied,” he said, shutting his eyes again.
“Jared. Talk to me. You having a bad day?” you asked.
“Yeah,” he said.
“You know, before we were even dating, we came up with bad day rules,” you said. “Supposed to talk to me, or someone or just have someone there and you don’t have to talk.”
“I know,” he said.
“Okay,” you said, climbing on the bed beside him. You pulled his head into your lap, Jared nuzzling you a few times before he began to relax. He was quiet and you only moved to send Jensen a quick text that you’d be at Jared’s that night.
You smiled when you saw his response and set the phone to the side for a moment.
“Jared. Jensen wants to know if you want him here too,” you said. “Or just me. Either way is okay with him he said.”
“No,” said Jared. You nodded and reached for your phone, Jared sighing. “Wait. Yes. He can come.”
“Does this have something to do with Jensen?” you asked softly, running your fingers through his hair. He didn’t speak, only lay there while you continued the soothing motion.
“It’s not what you’re thinking. I’m not jealous or anything so please don’t worry over that,” he said.
“Okay, babe,” you said, moving your thumb over his cheek, tickling the beard that’d grown in. He turned into it, starting to relax a bit more.
“I realized there are things I can’t ever give you now, things you should have and-“
“Sh. I have you and Jensen. That’s what I want,” you said.
“Your life would be so much easier if you just went with him. He’s not screwed up. You don’t have to deal with this the rest of your life or-“
“You are not screwed up. He isn’t perfect. None of us are. I want to deal with the both of you. I got what I want. What matters to me is that you get what you want too,” you said.
“I got that,” he said quietly.
“If there’s a problem with you and Jensen, we need to talk about this,” you said.
“There’s no problem,” he said.
“Okay then. Can he come over cause he’s texting me non stop over here worried about you,” you said.
“Yeah. Yeah, he can come over.”
Jared was in better spirits but was still off when Jensen came over. He hummed as he walked in the bedroom, taking a seat on the bed before they both were looking at you.
“I think you boys should talk,” you said. “About your relationship.”
Jensen raised an eyebrow and Jared made a face but you giggled and shook your head.
“You two love each other but you’re on edge and I want you to talk through it. For both your sakes. You’ve both said things to me that make me realize we have forgotten this part of the relationship. You two were best friends long before I showed up. Get back to that, please,” you said.
They were both quiet. Jensen nodded and turned to Jared.
“I know I’ve let you down a lot the past few months and not been there when I should have been. I know I got distant and that was a shitty thing to do. But we’re best friends again and I need to know you’re okay. You don’t...you don’t know how much I need to know that you’re okay,” he said. “Alright?”
“Why'd you stop talking to me?” asked Jared. “Like actually talking, not the small talk that was going on.”
“It hurt, seeing you two together. I needed time to get over that and separating myself was working. I told myself it was working anyways. But I was losing both my best friends. It was wrong. I tell you all the time you can talk to me or we can just hang out and I’m there. And I didn’t talk when I knew better. I didn’t even want to be around you,” said Jensen. “I’m sorry.”
“Okay,” said Jared. “I get it. Trust me, I get not wanting to talk about stuff and the distance thing. But Y/N had a point I think. We have to take care of each other too. It sounds like we got her settled into this better but not us.”
“There’s more than one relationship in this. You two have to care about the one you guys have and I don’t want your relationship to just be about me now either,” you said.
“We’ll be better about it,” said Jensen.
“Promise,” said Jared. “I’m sorry too.”
“For what?” asked Jensen.
“I could have showed off less that I was dating Y/N. I was excited and I knew-“
“Shut up. We’re good,” said Jensen. “You two let me in when you didn’t have to. We’re all good.”
“Alright,” said Jared.
“Okay. Where’s your beanie?” asked Jensen. Jared sat up and looked around for one, Jensen smirking before he got up and went over to his bag. He pulled one out and pulled it down over Jared’s head. “Take that one, buddy.”
You tilted your head, Jensen raising an eyebrow.
“You got your bad Jared day ways and I got mine,” he said.
“I’ll have to remember that one,” you said. “You feel any better?”
“Mhm,” said Jared, rubbing his eyes. “Kind of tired.”
“Movie in bed?” you asked. Jared nodded and Jensen grabbed his bag, heading for the door when you scowled. “Where are you going?”
“Guest room? Like I normally do when we crash here?” he said.
“Watch the movie with us,” you said.
“Yeah dude. I won’t pull the yawn and stretch move on you,” said Jared, sounding more like himself.
“Well what incentive do I have to stay now, buttercup?” teased Jensen.
“Asshole.”
“Dick,” said Jensen. “You guys sure you’re okay with...not alone time?”
“I’m not really in the mood for that tonight anyways,” you said, Jared giving you a smile. “I’m just going to put on some pajamas quick.”
You cut through Jared’s bathroom to the closet, finding one of his t shirts and pulling it on. You looked around for some boxers to use for shorts and almost jumped when you spotted Jensen in the bathroom.
“Sorry,” he said. He went into the bathroom and shut the door, exiting after a minute in boxers and a shirt, stuffing his other clothes in his backpack. He glanced at you as you looked around for a clean pair of Jared’s. A pair navy shorts were suddenly at your feet, Jensen nodding at you. “They’re clean.”
“Thanks,” you said.
You finished getting dressed and pulled your hair out of it’s messy bun, shaking it out. Back in the bedroom, Jensen was sitting on the end of the bed picking something out, Jared curled up on his side, your favorite blanket out already. You hummed as you flipped off the light and crawled into bed with him, Jensen turning something on and tossing the remote back towards you.
You patted the spot beside you, Jensen moving around to sit back against the headboard. You stared at him and he shifted his body down to lay. You were less cramed than you thought you’d be, the middle of the bed nice and warm with the two of them tucking you in like that. Jared shifted under the covers and you handed the blanket to Jensen, his gaze going over to Jared. He nodded and Jensen tossed it over himself, nuzzling down until he relaxed and promptly fell asleep jammed up against your back.
“Early night?” you said, Jared’s face sleepy again. He hummed as you hit off the TV, the room going dark. He shifted closer, taking a few deep breaths before he drifted. His arm found yours and pulled it to his chest, Jensen moving in his sleep, tossing his own over your waist.
They were both cuddlers whether they were willing to admit it or not. But when they both finally fell into deep sleep around you, you smiled and had a little hope that maybe this would all work out the way it was supposed to.
“Hey, Nolan,” said Jared, giving him a wave when he wandered into Jensen’s backyard a few weekends later. You saw your parents trail in after him, Jensen giving them a wave from over where he was chatting with his own parents and brother. “We got drinks in the coolers, burgers and dogs for food, snacks up on the porch and a heated swimming pool.”
“Two handsome and rich boyfriends,” said Nolan, tilting his head at you. “Seriously, I’ll take whatever one you’ll give me.”
“No! They’re both mine,” you said.
“Yeah, yeah,” he mumbled, giving Jared a smile as he set their cooler down by the others.
“So,” said your mom with a smile, spotting Jared’s parents by the pool. “This is...different.”
“I got two boys to intimidate. This is going to be exhausting,” said your dad, grabbing Jared by the arm and tugging him away. “I’ll bring him back in one piece. Come on tall one. We’re having a little chat.”
“He does know I’m not a little girl right?” you said.
“Oh you know he’s been wrapped around your finger from the second he laid eyes on you, even if he doesn’t know the best way to say it,” she said. “So both the boys parents are here?”
“Yeah, and siblings. It’s just family. We thought it’d be a good idea, answer any questions anyone had, not that anything’s come up so far,” you said. “We’re all starting to get a bit serious so we thought it was time.”
“Don’t seem that complicated to me,” said Nolan, grabbing a beer and cracking it open. “Hey, these people assholes or anything?”
“No, Nolan. Both the boys families are very open to...this situation,” you said. “Go play nice.”
“Well we live in hickville of hick county so I don’t know how open these people are to unconventional relationships,” he said.
“Behave, Nol or I won’t help you find a hot boyfriend,” you said.
“Really,” he deadpanned.
“To be fair she is good at getting attractive men in her life,” said your mom. “I think I’ll go have a chat with Jared’s parents while their son is interrogated.”
“Lovely,” you said. “Oh and I’m serious. Jared’s got a friend in town he thinks you might get along with.”
“I don’t even live here,” he said.
“Well maybe it’s time you got out of hickville too, get someplace better for you. Both these guys got side businesses involving beer. I can hook you up like that, normal shifts,” you said.
“I’ll think about it, sis,” he said, heading off towards the guys sisters. “But get me that guy’s number, hm?”
“Alright, Casanova,” you laughed. You wandered over to Jensen, getting a kiss on the cheek from him. “Hey, my father is going to probably scar you for life in about two minutes just as a heads up.”
“Looking forward to it,” he said. “He’s not terrifying at all.”
“Your folks okay with this all?” asked Jensen’s dad.
“Yeah,” said Jensen. “They helped us get back together when we hit a rough path at the start.”
“I imagine there were a few,” he said. You swallowed, suddenly wanting to get out of the conversation when Jensen’s hand found your own and laced your fingers together. “You can’t help who you fall for.”
“Mhm,” you said, Jensen’s thumb rubbing over the back of your hand, easing away some of the nerves that’d built back up again.
“Well he’s happy and Jared’s happy and you seem happy when you forget to be nervous so something must be working out,” said his dad.
“I think it is,” you said, giving Jensen a smile before your dad whistled and curled a finger at him.
“If I don’t survive, I love ya,” he said. Jensen peeled away and Jared walked over with a blank face.
“You can’t ever break up with me,” he said.
“Oh really? What’d he say?” you asked.
“If you ever come home like that again, it’s not going to be good, like lifetime movie not good,” he said. “Also, you apparently eating ketchup on ice cream is so not just a kid thing. You still-“
“And I’m gone,” you said. “I’m gonna start getting food ready if you want to fire up the grill.”
“Can do, baby.”
Six Months Later
“Morning,” mumbled Jared against the back of your neck. You made some kind of incoherent sound that woke up Jensen, his hand on your waist tugging you closer. Jared’s pressed up right below his and pulled you back, the two of them having a tug of war over you until Jensen moved closer and trapped you between them. “Better.”
“You’re moving tomorrow, Padalecki,” mumbled Jensen. It was almost funny to you how close they’d gotten the longer you’d been together. They could both be touching you in bed now without it being a big deal, both wrap you up like this to make you feel safe. Jensen was more open than ever, talking about things that bothered him, with you or Jared even. Jared was happier than when it’d just been the two of you. The three of you had always been in it together. It’d simply taken some time to see that.
“It’s my turn to make coffee,” grumbled Jensen.
“Yeah it is,” teased Jared.
“Well it’s Y/N’s to make breakfast,” he teased back.
“We better get up before he tries to get all in charge,” you said.
“It is cute when he tries, isn’t it?” said Jared.
“I hate you both,” he said, shaking his head. “You want that tea stuff you been having, Jared?”
“Yeah, thanks,” he said. Jensen hummed as he got out of bed and left the room, Jared rolling you over to face him. “I’m glad we did this, gave this a shot.”
“Me too. You two are incredible,” you said, kissing him softly.
“We were talking last night,” he said. You heard Jensen re-enter the room, walking around to sit on Jared’s side of the bed as he sat up. You sat up with him, both staring at you and giving you goofy smiles.
“We can’t really make this official,” said Jensen.
“But we’d like to do our own thing if that’s okay with you,” said Jared.
“What…” you said.
“Us three. We aren’t calling it engaged but...what’d we say? Full time best friends forever or something like that?” asked Jensen.
“Whatever we want to call it, we want to do this for the long haul,” said Jared.
“Are you two not-proposing proposing?” you asked, a smile growing bigger and bigger on your face.
“We got to come up with better names for this stuff,” said Jensen with a laugh.
“Guys?” you asked. Jensen nodded to Jared, a smirk crossing his face.
“Y/N, would you be my girlfriend wife thingy forever and we already talked but Jensen would you be my best friend forever?” asked Jared.
“Yes,” you said with a laugh. “We can work on the names but yes.”
“Yeah, again,” said Jensen with a laugh. “Jared, you want to keep being my best buddy?”
“Yeah,” he said, Jensen turning to you.
“Want to be my girl for as long as we got?” he asked.
“Yes,” you said. “I’ll be your girl. I like being both of yours girl and I like having my boys.”
“I heard two yeses. I think she’s stuck with us,” said Jensen.
“She didn’t really want to go anywhere else though, did she?” teased Jared. Jensen smirked as he leaned over, kissing your cheek. “Now’s probably a good time to tell you we both actually have the day off and we called you in sick last night so we could spend the day celebrating.”
“I love you both so much,” you said, giving them soft smiles. You shifted closer and gave them each a kiss, throwing one arm around them each, their own arms pulling you into a big embrace. “I love that the both of you have never treated me any differently because of the way I feel and that you tried this so we could all be happy and I’m really happy to get to have both of you but also see you two together and I’m kind of babbling but I really love you guys.”
“We love you too,” said Jared. “We love you so much and I’m glad we went for this too.”
“I’m glad Jensen told us how he felt,” you said.
“Me too,” he said, no shyness in his face. “So to start the day, I’m going to make a big heaping breakfast and I will leave Mr. Padalecki here to keep you thoroughly entertained while I go cook.”
“Or you could both entertain me and then we can all go cook together?” you said, biting your bottom lip.
“That could be arranged,” said Jared, grabbing your hips and pulling you into his lap. “You know we love getting you on our own.”
“But together is a whole lot of fun,” said Jensen, tilting your head so he could kiss you. “Want us both right now?”
“Want you both forever,” you said.
“You got us,” said Jared.
“Good,” you said, Jared giving you his own kiss before Jensen pressed up behind you. “Boys?”
“Mhm?” hummed Jensen, kissing your neck.
“I love you,” you said. They looked at each, big smiles playing on their faces.
“We know,” they said together. “We love you too.”

Gay Gamers AU!~
They're all Youtubers, GAMING Youtubers
They all have their separate channels: Prince_Of_Creativity, Mor-Pal-Ity, CoolLogic101, Anxie_Tea&Biscuits
But, one day, they decided to make a group channel: Gay Gamers
Logan, Patton, and Roman already lived in a (rather large) house before the group channel came to be
They each have their own bedroom, studio/gaming room, and still have plenty of spare rooms
The perks of being famous Youtubers, am I right?
Now, you may be wondering, where's Virgil? Yeah, about that...
While the other three had the luxury of at least starting out in the same state together, Virgil wasn't in Florida
Or the U.S., for that matter...
That's right, he's from/is in England!
My British Boyo
What, you thought I was just gonna randomly call him Anxie_Tea&Biscuits?
Actually, I always wanted him to be British in this AU, and I saw the chance to make a good username for him!
Also, this fact puts all the story line and drama into the AU
Patt wants to hug this adorable boy with a cute accent, Logan wants to properly debate him, Roman wants to touch his hair (it looks so soft in his videos), and Virgil just wants to meet his only friends in person
They're all so desperate to meet IRL that they agree that Virgil would fly to Florida and stay with them for the summer
And Virgil, being the little sh*t he is, bought a ticket for the flight a week earlier because that's an extra week to stay with them. Also he really wanted to scare them
So, he got their address (and they shipped him a house key a couple weeks ago, oh how they were gonna regret that) a week before his flight, and said he had to go "offline" for a couple days
And Virgil, he's got it all planned out. By the time he arrives at their house (after a few detours) they've gone shopping to restock their fridge/pantry
Once he gets there he hides his luggage in a hall closet, and puts a camera in the flower pot and attaches a small one to his jacket to record their reactions to his "entrance"
So with the giant box and packing peanuts, which he bought at the detours, he fills the box with packing peanuts and hides in the box, covering himself with packing peanuts and closing the lid to the box
When the others get home 20 minutes later they're like, "Why is there a giant box here??"
So, they all open it, and for a moment, all they see is pink packing peanuts before Virgil's head pokes out of the peanuts
"Guys! I found so many packing peanuts at the store! Isn't this amazing?!"
And they're just standing there for a second because dANG, this boy is even cuter in person and wHAT THE HELL IS HE EVEN DOING HERE?!
And then, Roman bursts into laughter, because of course Virge would be excited over packing peanuts, then Patton giggles, and even Logan is chuckling along
Virgil huffs and then says something along the lines of "You guys are weird, I'm taking a nap" before sinking back into the peanuts, causing them to laugh even harder
(The video Virgil posted over the whole ordeal went on his channel and the group channel and blew UP with views and likes and comments)
Then, over the summer, they all realize they're in love with the small British gamer, and sh*t when were the others this attractive too?.
Virgil, who's loved them before meeting them in person, is an oblivious f*ck while the others are trying to win his heart and realize their feelings for the entire group along the way
Then the others discuss their feelings with each other, but they decide not to start a relationship until Virgil tells them he does/doesn't want to join. But of course, they're too nervous to bring this up to him. Then, the next big issue:
Trying to get Virgil to stay as long as humanely possible (maybe forever, that would work)
This goes on for a while until Virgil catches on
"Why can't you stay with us another month?" "Because Roman, next week is f*CKING CHRISTMAS. I NEED TO GO HOME ALREADY."
Oh, and then the Christmas flights were canceled, thanks to a snow storm
"WHY IS THERE A SNOW STORM IN FLORIDA?!" " *singing in background* It's a Christmas miracle...!"
While Virgil is stuck in Florida for Christmas, he asks why they've been keeping him from going home
And then they give the answer, but dang it sounds selfish out loud
And Virgil's silent for a second before chuckling with a sympathetic smile
"I feel the same way and would love to be in a relationship with you guys, but for the LOVE OF GOD, LET ME GO HOME, AT LEAST TO PACK UP TO MOVE HERE!"
And they all agree immediately, happy to finally be in a relationship with the British boy and each other
So Virgil goes back to England for two weeks, because he couldn't get a flight back sooner
While Virgil is handling the separation just fine, the boys are so, so sad after just three days
When he comes back, they all have a cuddle party and Disney marathon
(And don't even get me started on what happens during holidays)
That's all I got for right now, hope you enjoyed this ramble!

J&F DS: Aftermath - Akina
Deleted Scene from Job & Family Words: 2,411 Characters: Dean, Akina
3/14/2012
Once Akina was feeling a bit better, Anael teleported the three of them to Dean’s apartment along with two loads worth of supplies including Akina's crib.  Initially they were going to go directly to the bunker, but he hadn't been there in over six months.  Unlike 2039, the bunker wasn't left in a standby mode and wasn't stocked with food & other necessities.  The whole process of getting the place functional enough for a person having to commit their attention to a toddler would probably take at least a day.
They opted to have Akina & Dean stay at his place for a bit.  There was still about ten days before the DEPA was supposed to do a visual check on him.  Before then he'd try to get his things packed and figure out what other supplies he'd need.  Dylaniel was still running a few investigations to see how much Heaven actually knew about the nature of Anael’s reclusion.  After assessing that he could go take care to restarting and restocking the bunker.
“Be a good girl and listen to your daddy.”  Anael told Akina after giving her a long hug.  She let go of Akina, then stood up and looked at Dean.  “You can pray for me, but it might take time for me to safely contact you.”
“I get it.”  Dean assured her that he understood he couldn't come running to her whenever something was wrong.  Anael stared down at her daughter for a few seconds.
“Goodb-”
“Ana, can you use the door?  I don't want her thinking that anyone can just disappear right in front of her at anytime.”  He could see how that combined with whatever abandonment issues Akina might develop would be intensely anxiety producing.
“Okay.”  Anael nodded, acknowledging the concern.  She opened the door, stepped into the hallway, then smiled sadly at Akina.  “Goodbye.”
The sound of the door closing was crushing.  He pitied Akina, but it also brought back memories of the night Sam had left for Stanford.  Evidently his concern about abandonment issues came from a place of experience.
Akina didn't understand what was going on, but she seemed to pick up on his discomfort.  Her little brow furrowed and she fidgeted with her pea green dress.  She took a few cautious steps further into his apartment, which was barely more than a bedroom with a minimal number of small countertop appliances and an on suite bathroom. She climbed up onto a dining chair at his tiny kitchen table, then sat, quietly watching him.
He'd babysat Kaylee, who was a little older than Akina.  He had some experience with this- but this was different.  It wasn't for a few hours or a day.  Unless Anael changed her mind, this was permanent.  And it certainly felt like Anael was committed to her decision.  But as much as the whole thing terrified him, Akina was his daughter.  He couldn't run away from his responsibilities anymore.  He wouldn't let her be abandoned twice, regardless of what it meant for the rest of his life.
Dean was supposed to move in with Jeremy in a few weeks.  They had already started looking for a bigger place to move into once the lease on Jeremy's studio apartment was up.  It was a big step, but neither of them could stand lying in bed worrying about the other anymore.  With all the urban legends about monsters & random attacks that had started with Lilith’s minions, the area had been changing over the last few months.  Just a week earlier a street proselytizer had warned them to be vigilant against unnatural things and brought to their attention something they both found deeply unsettling.  A local councilwoman with a history of supporting bigoted practices like conversion therapy was organizing a neighborhood watch- the night they found out about the watch group Dean had installed two deadbolts on Jeremy's front door.  They were gonna move in together, into a bigger apartment in a safer area for them.
But now Dean had a daughter.  She would be staying with him, they were a package deal.  He'd either have to leave Jeremy just when things were getting serious or he'd have to tell Jeremy- He had no fucking clue how to begin explaining any of it.  To buy a bit of time to think, he texted Jeremy and said that he had to go out of town for a few days to check out a rare car.  The excuse had been used once or twice before, so he wasn't surprised when Jeremy texted back wishing him luck.  Jeremy’s sign off of “Love you.” made Dean feel worse.  He slipped his phone back into his pocket, then turned his attention back to what to do with Akina.
He wanted to introduce her to Sam & the others, but part of him hesitated.  Akina didn't know him and he was supposed to be her father.  If she met a whole group of new people in close succession- if they stayed at the camp for even just a day or two right now, would she understand that their relationship was supposed to be closer than with the others?  Anael had kept Akina a secret, which must've meant a lot of one-on-one time.  That was what she probably associated with a parent.  Kay & Dyl’s families had lived together and that appeared to have blurred the lines somewhat.  But he was living separate from Sam & Ruby.  And despite how unlikely it seemed, part of him still hoped to find a way to stay with Jeremy.  He decided to take a little time to let Akina get used to him before starting to introduce her to new people or moving her to a new location.
He sat down across from her at the little table.  She silently stared at him for a minute, then began dragging her fingertips along the edge of the table.  Her pink tennis shoes swung back & forth below her chair as she hummed a short melody that he didn't recognize.
“That's a cute song.  Do you like music?”  Dean asked, but she just blinked at him.  “Are you hungry?  Thirsty?  Can you drink milk?”
“Milk?”  Her voice was a bit uncertain.
“Not like nursing… um, have you heard of chocolate milk?”  Dean dug through his fridge.  After debating whether or not to risk having a problem with lactose intolerance, he pulled out a small carton of soy milk that he kept for Jeremy.  He poured it into the sippy cup, then added a diminutive amount of chocolate syrup.  The lid was placed on the cup, he shook it vigorously to mix it, then he handed it to her.  She had a sip.  Her eyes widened and a small smile spread across her face.  “You like that?”
Dean couldn't remember the last time a nod had been such a relief to him.  He sat back down and watched her drink.  Tomorrow morning he'd call in sick to work, then check with Tamara to confirm that there was a big enough window in his surveillance to take Akina to the store to buy some more appropriate food.  While he was working on his to do list, Akina stopped drinking and muttered something that he didn't understand.
“Was that Enochian?  I don't know that language.  I only speak English.”  He said a bit discouraged at their inability to communicate.  Kaylee had learned to speak faster than expected and he couldn't remember how quickly Sam had spoken, so he didn't know what was typical.  He couldn't help but remember Kay’s brother Tom mentioning that Dylaniel was a bit delayed in his development.  Though it was entirely possible that Akina just didn't have English as her primary language.  He smile at her, then tried some other phrases that she might recognize.  “Are you tired?  Do you want to play?”
“Play.”  Her eyes lit up a bit at the suggestion.
“Okay, playing is something I can do.”
Dean looked through a pile of toys and put some in a small clearing on the floor.  Akina walked over, then sat down.  She picked up a toy horse and started making it run around.
He watched her playing.  She had an innocence & vulnerability that he hadn't appreciated in other children.  He'd helped other people take care of their kids, but this was completely different.  When push came to shove, she was his responsibility- only his responsibility now.  He might have the rest of the family as a resource, but every minute of every day, she had to be his priority because the fact was that no one else was about to do that for her.  She held out the horse to him.
“Play?”  She offered.
“Thank you.”  He sat down on the floor next to her and accepted the toy.
“Wel-um.”
They played for what felt like an hour.  He tried to figure out what was going on in her young mind.  She seemed nice & well mannered.  To his relief, she appeared to understand a reasonable amount of what he was saying to her, though she didn't have a large vocabulary herself.  Her curiosity reminded him a lot of Kaylee, though she wasn't nearly as bold- granted she was in a strange environment with someone she barely knew.
The thought of her eventually meeting her cousins made his heart ache a bit.  He wouldn't have been surprised if she'd never interacted with another child.  She'd have Kaylee to play with- Once Anansi & Malek were a little older, the four of them would be able to do all sorts of things together.  Kaylee was already asking to have a tea party.  The thought of Sam & him watching their daughters have a little tea party together completely floored him.  There were so many things he wanted for her, to share with her.  He wasn't prepared for that to just sneak up on him.
But as much as he was looking forward to those perfect moments someday, in the present things weren't there yet.  He needed to establish trust with her and she was probably starting with an emotional disadvantage.  She'd been highly sheltered and was going through a lot.  Sure enough, after playing for awhile she became quiet again and started looking around with a concerned expression on her face.
“Mommy hi?”
At first he didn't understand what she was trying to ask, but then Akina looked at the door.  He realized that ‘hi’ was probably the word she associated most with people arriving.  She wanted to know when her mom was coming back.  His mouth went dry when she looked up at him expectantly.
“No, mommy is going to be away for awhile.  That's why you're staying with me- with daddy.”  He tried to explain, though he didn't know how to tell her Anael wasn't coming back.  He didn't even know if she understood concepts like permanence.  Akina stared at the door for a few seconds, then huffed out a little sigh.  He had to force himself not to tear up.  He didn't want to upset her anymore.  “Can I give you a hug?”
“Hug.”  Akina agreed.
Dean wrapped his arms around her.  She didn't react at first, but after a few seconds she gripped his shirt and rested her head on his shoulder.
“I wish you didn't have to go through this.”  Dean whispered.  “I promise that I won't leave you.”
He could feel her chest let out a deep breath as she nuzzled into his shoulder.  She rubbed at her face and for a moment he thought she might be crying but when he let go of her she yawned.
“I think it's bedtime.  Things will be better after some sleep.”  Dean picked her up and put her in the crib.  He took off her shoes, then changed her into pajamas.  When he bent down to put her shoes on the floor she crawled under the blanket completely unprompted, nearly tucking herself in.  He wondered whether Anael was familiar with the human custom.
“Did mommy do anything when she used to tuck you in?”  Dean asked.  “Story?  Sing?  Kiss?”
Akina just stared at him.
“Okay, I'm not sure what you used to do, so we're gonna start our own tuck in procedure.”  He explained to the toddler.  “I'm gonna read you a story, then I'm gonna sing you a lullaby.  Most kids like that sort of stuff, but if you don't just let me know.  We can figure this out, okay?”
Dean dug through the pile of gifts he was saving for his next visit to the camp and searched through the selection of comic books he'd been planning on giving to Tom.  He picked up an issue of Batman, but stopped for a moment.  After a few more seconds of looking he found an issue of Wonder Woman.  He sat down on the floor next to the crib, positioning himself so that Akina could see the brightly colored pages through the crib bars.
“On the island of Themyscira there lived the Amazons…”
Shortly after 2am, Dean woke up to the sound of Akina crying.  He quickly got up, turned on the light, then ran over to the crib to check on her.  She was sitting up in the crib, sobbing.
“What's wrong?”
“Mommy.”  Akina replied through her tears.
She extended her arms toward him.  He picked her up and hugged her.  She clung to him as he gently rocked her.
“It's okay, daddy's here.”  He kissed the top of her head.  “Daddy's right here.”
After calming her down a bit, Dean grabbed an electric screwdriver and started working on the crib.  He removed one of the long sides of the bars, then screwed the crib to his bed frame with the open side facing the bed.  After checking to make sure he had in fact positioned the crib correctly, he turned a lamp so that its light was diffused on the nearby wall to act as an improvised nightlight.
“Okay, we’re gonna do our little tuck in routine again.”  He informed her as he placed her on the bed with him.
She crawled into her crib and he draped the blanket over her.  He read another issue of Wonder Woman while laying beside her.  After the comic, he sang Hey Jude.  Akina was asleep before he’d finished the song.  He quietly climbed under the covers and fell asleep.  In the middle of the night Dean woke up to find her holding his hand while she slept.
