sam watched on as you did your post-match interview with her standing at your side. truth be told, sam didn't actually have a problem with katie, but when she was standing that close to you, with her hand so low on your back- she would have a problem with anyone.

you were laughing too hard for sam's liking, laughing at something that katie had said. sure, she knew that katie was a funny girl, always good to be around; but she was ignoring that shit.

"turning green there skip" caitlin came over, bumping sam's hip with her own. sam broke her gaze away for a moment to look at her teammate.

"no," sam shook her off instantly. caitlin tried her best to hold in her laughter, instead letting out a small chuckle. "should watch where you're girlfriend is putting her hands though" sam nodded her head towards katie's placement on your back.

"you're jealous aren't you?" caitlin turned her head and smirked.

"I'm not jealous" sam shook her head, jutting out her lips slightly. "... are you?" sam looked over to caitlin, seeing if she was just as pissed off as she was.

"no sam," caitlin gave her friend a pat on the back, "and you shouldn't be either, they're just friends" she reminded her.

"great friends apparently," sam rolled her eyes, letting her jealousy get its way.

"hey pretty lady," sam was surprised when you and katie made your way over to them both. she instinctively pulled you in close, putting her hand right where katie's had been, taking back her rightful place. "good game," you teased, kissing her cheek. "but not good enough," you whispered in her ear before pulling away.

"mm," she held you tighter as you smirked at her. "just too good for me, hey?" sam tilted her head.

"something like that" you chuckled.

"we'll see you lot later, yeah?" katie said from her spot next to caitlin. you smiled at them both, knowing they just wanted to sneak back to the change rooms where they could finally act like a couple again. "great work today, kerr" katie gave sam a nod and smile as she headed off with caitlin next to her.

"you too," sam held a neutral gaze, which made you narrow yours at her. "what?" sam asked defensively, taking note of the look you were giving her.

"oh my god," you threw your head back in disbelief.

"what?!" she asked again, her voice raising this time.

"you're so jealous!" you walked away with a smile.

"hey, wait!" she called after you, getting ready to defend herself.

even though you were right.. she was so jealous.

Depois de um início alucinante de Caitlin Clark, que fez 18 pontos no primeiro quarto, a equipe de Dawn Staley buscou o placar, virou o jogo e se sagrou campeã: é o segundo título em três anos!

Não fosse Iowa ano passado, poderiam ter sido três títulos em três anos. O recorde da equipe nesse período (2021-2024) foi de 109 vitórias e três derrotas. Este ano, foram 38 vitórias e nenhuma derrota. Em 2022-23, o único jogo que perderam foi esse da semi-final. Que sequência de South Carolina e que trabalho de Dawn Staley! Especialmente porque todo o time titular se formou em 2023. A equipe perdeu as cinco titulares e voltou da reformulação invicta, vencendo o time que a havia derrotado no ano anterior. Emocionante.

Nesse sentido, a história mais marcante é a de Raven Johnson, armadora de South Carolina. No ano passado, no jogo contra Iowa, Johnson estava livre da linha dos três. Quem a devia estar defendendo era Caitlin Clark, mas Clark permaneceu bem distante, dentro da garrafão e abanou a mão na direção de Johnson, como quem diz: "essa aí, pode deixar que não tem chute."

Raven passou a bola. O vídeo viralizou e daí você deve imaginar o que rolou: caiu na rede social, bem vindo à selva. Barbárie. É gente zoando, humilhando, xingando, enfim… Johnson pensou em parar de jogar. Mas não parou.

Ontem, como defensora principal da Clark, forçou 4 turnovers e segurou Caitlin a um baixo aproveitamento: 3 de 11 acertados. Ao ser entrevistada durante a premiação, disse: "A turnê de vingança acabou."

liiiiv! hello! i would literally love to give you a top 3 of my favorite books 🤭

1. sharp objects — gillian flynn

hands down, my favorite book of all time. my copy is falling apart because it’s been read and written in and dog eared and highlighted so many times. i think i was 14 the first time i read it, and i’m not exaggerating when i say it informed who i am as an adult. it’s dark, thrilling, frustrating, and so so so delicious.

2. from here to eternity — caitlin doughty

a non-fiction exploration of death care and customs across different cultures, but a very endearing read. i love anything that caitlin doughty does (subtly adding smoke gets in your eyes and will my cat eat my eyeballs? to this list), and the way she approaches the subject of dying with dignity (and how that looks all across the world) is so fascinating, while granting levity to the subject. cannot recommend highly enough!!!

3. gingerbread — rachel cohn

technically a YA novel, but this is soooo dear to my heart! the characters are well written and complex, the dialogue is hilarious, the settings of new york and the bay area are incredibly real and immersive, and it’s topped off with the perfect touch of teenage girl-yearning-for-adulthood angst. LOVE.

Helix took a deep breath in, counted four flashes of the desperate direct-@ lights coming in from his side chat panels, and breathed out.  His voice came out steady, and miraculously casual.  "We understand why you did it. You were trying to keep our brothers safe." He watched Harp's eyes go wide at the 'our' brothers. Like he hadn't expected the rest of them to claim the Corries. Because he'd been hiding from them just like from the longnecks, he had falsified his— Deep breath in. Two flashes, no time for longer, leave no silence for Harp to panic in.  Breathe out. Keep going. 

This is not seven sentences, but it's also largely not complete sentences anyway, and it is literally what I just seconds ago finished writing. Still counts!

At this point, I'm feeling like almost every major trainer in Unova is going to adopt a Hisuian Pokemon.

Burgh happily takes on a Kleavor. Marshal and Roxie both fall in love with Sneasel and Sneasler - perhaps they're even trusted to take Lady Sneasler's own children?

Lenora picks up a Hisuian Zorua, because that Ghost-typing is very useful for her. N would adopt every single one if he could. Surprisingly, Colress also volunteers to adopt a Zorua, because he thinks it's an interesting subject for his studies into human-Pokemon relations.

Elesa and Cilan both take a Voltorb. Cress, Marlon and Shauntal each adopt a white Basculin to evolve into a Basculegion. To round it out, Chilli has a Growlithe.

Marshal and Cilan also both want a Hisuian Lilligant. Clay takes on an Ursuluna (though part of him kind of wants a Kleavor for tradition's sake). Skyla falls in love with a Hisuian Braviary; Caitlin bonds with a Wyrdeer, whose beard makes for a lovely pillow.

Iris and Drayden both adore Hisuian Goodra, and adopt a Goomy/Sliggoo to evolve each. Iris's gets cute bows and stickers all over its shell (she seems the type to do that to her team).

I love all this! ✨

When the time comes, both the Unovan and the Sinnoh gym leaders will be at the top of the application list for adopting these extremely endangered species. They will have to be approved just like every one else. Also Roxie does indeed get one of Sneaslers babies!

Every one of the gym leaders wants to help support and promote the two sister sanctuaries, and they all love the new/old pokemon.
