Update: I’ll be having two surgeries, a double mastectomy and tissue expanders, then a bilateral DIEP flap (reconstruction using fat from my belly) a couple months later when my tissue has sufficiently expanded. It’s gonna expand a lot. I’m going big.
Tumblr media
I’m about to be sober af this summer…no weed 6 weeks before or after each surgery. So I’m getting absolutely snoop dogged tonight. 200mg. Because my surgery could be as soon as 6 weeks from now (come on let’s get this over with!). I’ll get an exact date when the surgery scheduler calls.
Dr. Plastics wants me to start losing weight in a healthy way, too; cut out sweets, fast foods, and alcohol, and cut back on simple carbs. So that’ll be something to work on this spring.
This. Is. Gonna. Suck.
These are huge surgeries.
And two of my favorite coping mechanisms are now off limits. Three, counting sweets.

Well, I don't know when the first documented case was, but they've found tumors in mummies. And so, cancer has been in the human condition and in animals for thousands of years, or whatever. But there's been an explosion of cancer since the Industrial Revolution. That was a defining time in human history when we started factories. Right? We started building factories. We started working in factories. We started working with toxic materials, like aluminum and lead. Smelting. Producing food on an industrial scale (industrial agriculture). Producing plastics, right? And you think about all these factories with soot and toxic chemicals that humans are breathing, you know, and ingesting. It's well-documented that cancers really started to become more common in the 1800s roughly, you know, the Industrial Revolution. - Chris Wark of Chris Beat Cancer

It feels INCREDIBLE to be back at the gym working out again! Only a light weight workout, but I did arms and shoulders and got to stretch out my left arm where the nerve damage is. Got a good walk in as fast as I could go without straining my sutures. Definitely it’s about just beginning again, and it feels amazing!

Found out this week I have a crazy rare type of breast cancer. Trying my best to stay positive but every time I tell someone I have to take on their negativity and sadness. Makes keeping a positive mindset that much harder. Just venting a little on here because internet friends are easier to talk to.

A dadbod doesn’t have to mean an unhealthy bod. I plan on being around to tell bad dad jokes and embarrass my daughters for a long time. KrispyKreme donuts are still life though 😋🍩
Vote for me for legendary dad bod and also help fight to end childhood cancer. It’s a win win.

3 x 10 pec machine
8 x 10 incline sit ups
30 minutes on the step mill
3 x 10 seated press
bike ride home
the gym workers received Reese eggs and Dove chocolates
ok day at work / my supervisor was out of town and that always makes the day seem more relaxed for some reason
one of the custodians at the gym passed away. he was a nice guy who was always smiling and would ask how you are doing. one time i was exercising before work and i locked my keys inside the locker and he quickly got some bolt cutters and cut the lock for me. he was diagnosed with cancer about a year ago. he was only a year older than me.

Good news: I walked more than 2 miles!!
Bad news: I’m getting a blister on my foot, on the outside of my big toe, wearing my usual shoes. What manner of fuckery…?
But now I’m home, in the recliner, stone cold chillin.
I have to cook later, chicken tortilla soup for dinner, but that’s future me’s problem.
Now, the big question: what lazy thing do I do first, Stardew Valley or drawing?

Forgiveness is like a healthy diet. It only works if you stick with it. So it's like, I made the decision, I'm sticking with it. If people continue to offend you, insult you, hurt you, just keep forgiving. Just keep letting it go. - Chris Wark of Chris Beat Cancer

This bra is impractically small, even for my itty bitties, and has zero support. I can’t bend over without a nip-slip. So I guess this is a standing only bra.

See something missing here? 🤔
I walked out of my house today without my Apple Watch on. 🤦🏾‍♂️ I was so mad at myself and was ready to turn around and go home!!
Then I remembered that my body keeps score, whether I wear the watch or not. And I walked the same path I did the day before and logged those damn miles. They counted!!
Also, I live 15 min away (by car) from the park I love to walk in. And that’s just too much time wasted in my busy schedule. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Spent the entire day at the chemo clinic with my daughter, so this was a much needed bit of exercise after sitting most of the day. Love being able to jump on the bike at a moment’s notice on days like this and zone out for awhile.
