A year of what you called coincidence, chance encounters I planned and planned again.   Where you were was where I had to be.

You found yourself in some far off, off in some sliver of wild, some place of peace in the shadow of tree and peak.  I followed, listened to your song as it pointed me back home.  

I found myself in all you found in me, called myself warm as we held each other through the freeze.   In the shadow of firework and frost, I followed, listened to those words as we spoke them for the first time.  

I will follow, wherever you may lead, I will listen, and I will call you home.

Got a helium heart, she does, ties itself to the wrists of us, lifts us, she does, laughs at the idea of gravity as we marvel down from such heights.

Got a colander heart, she does, rains down love like it's full of holes, pours out when it's finally full, paints red anyone lucky enough to come near.

Got a bonfire heart, she does, lights up and burns hot, passion like gasoline through the veins, spreads sparks like stars as we float through with awe in our eyes.  

Aloft and soaking, warmth wrapped like a promise, I search the empty spaces for the right words to speak of this love.
