MORE:
D, T, N in front of i/í and ě are pronounced as Ď, Ť, Ň (example: děti is pronounced ďeťi)
writting Ď, Ť, Ň in front of i/í, y/ý, ě is forbidden
Mě is pronounced mně
Both are used in written text and there are ridiculously complicated rules for which one should be used where
Y/ý has to be written after hard consonants and D, T, N when you want to pronounce them normally
I/í has to be written after soft consonants
The rules for writing i/í and y/ý after ambivalent consonants are complicated and have successfully traumatized generations of czechs
Ě pronounced as je can be written only after B, P, V, but can be also written as bje, pje, vje and which one is it has again complicated rules
I would give you some other tips, but most shortcuts work only if you’re already fluent
Czech grammar has only two constants:
Everything has ridiculously complicated rules
ALL of those rules have exceptions that you just have to remember

A while ago I talked to my polyglot friend, who's currently learning Czech, and he asked me for some easy reading materials. As I have offspring and thus my home is overflowing with kids books, it was pretty easy to find something suitable for, say, A1-A2 learners.
Since I've seen a lot of Czech learners on this site, I realized I could share with more people!
So, here's the link to my Google drive folder:
Hope it helps!

ahoj!! odpovězte mi prosím, jak se řekne česky “e-girl”? existuje nějaké české slovíčko, nebo se říká prostě “e-girl” jako v angličtině? ptám se na to, protože v polštině říkáme “alternatywka” (“alternativní holka”)

Hi, if you are still looking for recommendations, my tip would be band "Poletíme?". They combine styles like country and jazz, but sound fairly unique. And their lyrics are more of a satire than anything serious. Album "Chce to hit" is great for getting the idea of the band.
Thanks, I'll check them out ❤️
