Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of the actual plants themselves due to how rare they are, but these are Bleeding Heart flowers.
Tumblr media
There’s If you see some flowers like these that are glowing with bright purple flowers and neon green stems, then you’re one of the few people who’ve managed to find the Ectoplasmic version of these flowers.
Thanks to how rare these flowers are, not only am I unable to find any pictures of them but not much is known about them.
There are theories of what they might do and how they’re able to grow. Like possibly having some sort of love-spell effect on ghosts, or growing in places a couple died together if they became ghosts after death. Maybe they don’t have any effect at all, and maybe they just grow wherever they feel like it.
My advice is to just be careful if you do end up finding them. The normal versions of these flowers alone are known to be toxic towards humans and animals, and it’s unknown if something similar can be said for their Ectoplasmic versions.

Jason looked at the phone screen and didn’t believe Danny has really decided to entrust his safety in the haunted lair to one drunk and unrequited Phantom.
He had enough. Jason jumped up and grabbed his helmet off the table.
‘Where do you think you’re going? Patrol’s coming soon.’ Tim took his eyes off the documents.
‘None of your business.’ Red Hood quickly found keys to a jet and ran for an exit. ‘Cass, while I’m gone, you’re in charge of the alley.’
~~~~
Demons, spirits, and ghosts swung around as if in a dance. And Danny, whom Jason easily spotted entering The Gambler’s Den, did not seem foreign at this festival of death. The red light gently illuminated his pale skin, which almost fused with color of his white kimono. The flowing fabric made his silhouette as blurry and elusive as most visitors.
One second without looking at the boy, and he was in the opposite corner, where the crowd were much smaller. VIP zone? Otherworldly creatures, deserving special treatment, were rarely friendly to humans. And Jason was tense about it for a moment. But after noticing waving with enthusiasm teenager, a man in white clothes rushed to respond to the gesture and a ghost with an eye patch sitting in the chair nodded to him, ringing with silver earrings.
Jason let his guard down a bit.
Another man in the black robe was not distracted by Danny. He threw the bones and glanced at them in disappointment. Then ghoul banged the table with fist. He rose, grabbed from a nearby bowl a mantou and bit. The next second his face was distorted by awareness and disgust.
He abruptly removed the triangle-shaped headband from Danny’s head and spat out a bite into it. Then ghoul fell to a floor. Well, nice carpets have softened it.
Jason shook his head, trying not to laugh at the strange situation.
At the same time, Danny boldly stepped over the fallen player and sat in a chair in front of the ghost in black and red clothes. The man began to demonstrate a technique of throwing bones, with continuous ringing after moving of his hands. Danny seemed passionate about this.
Constantine, who did not come with the Red Hood voluntarily, decides for the first time in the evening to speak out.
‘That’s weird.’ Constantine said with an intonation that spoke of his distrust of the situation.
‘What is it now?’ Jason took his eyes off the object of interest.
Fenton must be watched for his safety. Why did the warlock distract him? Jason completely distrusted Danny’s promise not to use his body parts as a bet.
‘His clothes.’ Constantine looked at the boy with discomfort. ‘Boy, are you sure your lover is alive?’
‘Don’t be rude. He looks great,’ said Jason ‘Maybe Danny wanted to dress up in a traditional costume.  And it's not polite to ask people if they are alive. He’s always pale in all the photos. ’
 Jason didn’t think costume selection was such a big deal.
‘No.’ Warlock shook his head ‘Kimono is Japanese national costume, not Chinese at all. And it’s on the left side which means your boyf..’
Unfamiliar to Jason spirit came up and patted Danny on the shoulder. The spirit and the boy bowed to each other.
‘I see.’ The puzzled expression on the warlock’s face is gone. ‘Your lover has interesting friends, Hood.’
 ‘Who is this guy? Explanation. Now.’ Jason barked irritably. Why did he always have to pull every word out of John?
‘Nurarihyon. Don’t be so nervous, he’s not dangerous to people. I just realized your boy here after a walk with Hyakki Yakko. Which explains the clothes.’ Сonstantine exhaled cigarette smoke and continued. ‘Your love doesn’t waste any time. In one evening, he met three ghost kings.’
‘Hyakki Yakko?’ Jason asked a lot calmer.
‘The night parade of one hundred demons when all of the yōkai, oni, ghosts parade through the streets.’ John shrugged his shoulders and shook the ashes off the cigarette into the nearest ashtray. It was also red and black. Warlock winced. ‘But your boyfriend feels like a fish in the water. Whoever his protector is, he is respected enough here. Let the guy have a drink and have some fun, he’ll be fine.’
‘God. Danny’s like a sheep in wolf’s clothing’ Jason sighed anxiously. ‘His parents are ghost hunters but he’s here as a plus one for Phantom, a ghost from Amity Park.’
‘More like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.’ Constantine muttered to himself. But when he saw a silver butterfly nearby, he decided that revealing other people’s secrets was not his problem. ‘I know who the Phantom is. Everyone has heard about Pariah Dark.’
Jason has not heard about him, but decided to keep quiet so as not to make a fool of himself. He will ask Danny about it.
Constantine took a brandy from the bartender. Then he took a big sip and looked at Jason. ‘You know, I always thought Little Red Riding Hood was incredibly stupid to let a wolf eat herself.’
‘What’s this about, Constantine?’ Hood rolled his eyes under the helmet.
And immediately he was glad that John did not see it. In the end, he helped him a lot not to scare Danny. Without the old man’s comments, he could have easily carried the boy away from the local ghosts on his shoulder like a caveman.
Jay didn’t want to spoil a first impression of a face-to-face meeting because of a kidnapping. Although, looking at how comfortable Fenton was among the nonhuman creatures, Jason doubted that Danny would have been screaming and panicking. But he wouldn’t be happy about being distracted from the fun. Hood shook his head in disappointment.
‘Nothing important.’ John brushed the silver butterfly off his shoulder. ‘You know, I’m in debt to the owner, so..If you don’t need my favors anymore, I’m leaving.’
‘Wait. Help me find Phantom.’ Сrime lord stopped him. ‘I need to make sure he doesn’t leave Danny here alone.’
John turned and looked at him as if he were terminally ill. ‘Phantom is in this room now. Only an idiot would have missed him.’ John spoke slowly and clearly, raising one eyebrow. ‘A conference of four kings. No joke. Stop poking around and messing up international relations, kid.’
Jason looked around the room again. ‘I don’t see him.’
‘Because you’re an idiot, kid’ John patted Jay on the shoulder and left. ‘Good luck explaining to Batman why you stole his jet.’
‘Heck.’
DP x DC: Homme Fatale
Noun. homme fatal (plural hommes fatals) An ultimately seductive and dangerous man; a womanizer.
On a bit of a Film Noir kick right now, so blame that
Imagine, if you will:
Danny, a private eye in Gotham, ever the hard boiled detective, sitting in his dark office, drinking coffee you could use to tar a roof. The office isn't in a good neighborhood but rent still ain't cheap. He's fixing to get a new case on his desk soon
Enter one Timothy Drake-Wayne, CEO of Wayne Enterprizes. He walked in shirt unbuttoned dangerously low in a suit sharp enough to cut yourself on and bags under his eyes to large to be counted as carry on. Mr. Drake has a job for him, one he wants to keep quite, and one important enough that he's willing to add a couple zeros to Danny's usual rate. This job is a dream come true... almost too good to be true...
or
Tim Drake aka Red Robin(yummm) needs plausible deniability on a case tied to his civilian identity and so hires a PI and lays down a trail of clues for him. All the while playing up the Noir tropes to flirt with the cute detective.
why doesn't he just take care of it as Red Robin? Shhhhh... the detective is cute and he's having too much fun playing the homme fatale
Bonus: Immediately after wrapping up Tim's case Kon walks into Danny's office dolled up in a vintage dress, period appropriate makeup done, all to play the part of the Femme Fatale and do the exact same thing Tim did. Does he know Tim literally just did that? Maybe, maybe not
Undereage Superheroes On The Rise: A Morally and Ethically Cause of Concern?
It's supposed to be another clickbait news but it comes at the time when the existence of ghost was recently proved factual at a small town in Illinois along witha its dead teenage superhero, when the heroes of Paris and by large France accidentally revealed they weren't adults at all, not even close, when Spiderman was unmasked to be 16-year-old Peter Parker, when the Young Justice was wounded in a large scale attack.
Most of the people involved and not involved are not having fun.
(This is inspired by the Miraculous fanfic The Growing Pains of Child Soldiers by BloodWolf13, a fic which I recommend you read since it is very, very good. Hits all my whump and angst points)
I've started and deleted three drafts now trying to get my thoughts into a coherent recommendation, but there's just so much.
Let's start with the basics: You should read the graphic novel if you're a fan of the original show. You just should. It's new content of your old faves, and I'm telling you now that the art and writing are great and that you should give it a shot based on that alone.
But as for exactly why I'm losing my mind over it this much...?
It... feels like watching the show. But a version of the show unafraid to explore its own worldbuilding. A version of the show where continuity and character growth matter. A version of the show without jokes written by people far too old to understand mid-2000s teens.
And it is actually, honest-to-goodness funny. I went in fully braced for a badly shoehorned "fruit loop" one-liner, and instead I got incredible deadpan asides like this:
Tumblr media
The art, too, manages to perfectly ride the line of looking enough like the original style to be convincing, but improving on the expressiveness of the characters' faces and actions to elevate it to something arguably better than the show:
Tumblr media
(Like, I'm being so serious when I say the fight scenes are among the best I have ever seen in comic form. I'm the kind of person who tends to go for anime over manga because the fights are harder for me to follow in little sequential snapshots, but I can tell exactly what's happening in these battles AND they still look super cinematic and cool.)
And the story. Man, the STORY.
I won't spoil any of the plot here, but it's... really good. A little winding and goofy toward the beginning, but once things get serious, it really grabs you and refuses to let go til it's done. (Much like the best episodes of the show! Funny how that works.) It has a satisfying conclusion, but it also leaves a massive door open to continue telling more stories in the setting.
And I want more stories in this universe. The threads being dangled here might be even more enticing than those left by the original show. There is potential here for an INCREDIBLE series of comics.
We just have to prove how badly we want it.
If you can't buy the book yourself right now (it's relatively cheap for a graphic novel--I think it was about $15 even with tax from my Barnes & Noble), then please at least let other fans know it exists (I wouldn't have had any idea if not for tumblr) and keep the hype going on social media. I'm stoked to see that DP is trending on tumblr, at least, and I hope the same is true elsewhere. It's a small thing, but it's something corporate decision-makers take note of.
Fingers crossed we get to see more someday. This is one series that deserves to come back from the dead.
But, whether or not we get that continuation: welcome back, Phandom. Congrats and happy release day. 💚
Having Said...
The law my ass. I am way to far in revealing the truth of Dani being Danny's clone to back out now.
Who cares if Manson has ties to the law? Who cares if within a matter of hours she basically showed my future the front door? Once I prove every "theory" I have in existence, everything will most likely get better. -cue eye twitch-
I'll be right haha! Scientists will accept me with open arms becuase I'm able to prove scientific theories! I mean cloning! That's a huge scientific advancment! Especially if it is of someone who's already half dead (who scientifically shouldn't even exist).
Collage be damn! I'm doing scientific work here and in a few days the processing system I have in place to analyze DNA should be done with Phantom's and his clones DNA, most likely giving me a exact match between people. -cue another eye twitch-
Saving my future!
It's fine, everything fine, just got to have... patience. -one more eye twitch for the road-
Lore Post: Ghost Zone Heraldry
This is part one of a two part post about Zone heraldry and the bearing of crests. Lots of fun connections to other parts of Zone culture, from countries to individual notable clans. I'll post Clan crests at some point in the future.
Shape:
The shape of shields in the Kingdom Arachtalamh stand frozen around the designs of the 13th and early 14th century. Because they are meant entirely for warfare of the typical medieval type(horseback, bow and arrow ranks, knights on foot, ect), their design is primarily military in form and function. There are a few decorative designs used in tournaments for entertainment, however, those are of a different model than that seen in combat in use by the Dragon’s Flame or ordinary knights.
Colors:
While in the human world, the traditional colors are based on availability and cleanness of view from across the field to identify the bearer’s house/crest, the colors in use slightly differ in the Ghost Zone. There is much overlap, however there is the addition of Pink(Rose), the Blue(Azure) used is more neon(closer to bleu de ciel) than deep blue, and Pink(Rose) typically replaces Black(Sable) in its usage for “persistence/stability”. The meaning of the colors most often used is thus:
Blue(Bleu celeste/Lazura): Typically used to denote humility, obedience, and loyalty. Blue, being the weakest color represented in ghost energy, is often not a color in use by the highest ranking noble houses. Only those that value humility and obedience over claims of military experience, knowledge, or constancy use this shade. Consequentially, this is a common color for new houses and especially for hereditary knighthoods.
Green(Vert/Verda): Similarly associated in the ghost zone as in the human world with nature, life, fertility, and abundance, green is the most common color in the Zone for ghost energy, and so its usage denotes abundance and fertility, most often, followed by health, nature, and happiness. (Most ghost blush green when happy/excited) Because green is an especially common color, the use of Vert is almost unheard of in Heraldry. There are exceptions to that general rule for coats of arms crafted for craftsmen or from a lineage of farmers, or for those who take pride in proper stewardship of the abundance gifted them. Additionally, late borne sons, far from inheriting the coat of arms of the family, often create variations with green in them of the family crest. This means Vert is more common in minor than major houses when seen at all.
Pink(Rose/Roza/Rozkolora): Not seen in Human World Heraldry in the traditional sense, Rose is a very common color in the blazonry of the Ghost Zone. While traditionally, Black(Sable) represents “constancy” or “persistence” instead that is represented by Pink(Rose). Because Pink ghost energy is the most stable, the color is also symbolic of stability or enduring power. Pink is also often associated with “Mercy” and “Temperance” as the shade typically gives the wielder the most control over the damage inflected by the energy.
Purple(Purpure/Purpura): While this color is most often associated with royalty in the Human World, its closest association in the Ghost Zone is military prowess(and often borne by Princes). Purpure is the color wielded by some of the most powerful ghosts, and as a result, the majority of successful military leaders would brag of their personal strength or battle prowess by the usage of purple in their army’s Coat of Arms. As a result, Purpure is a common color in both noble heraldry and in the symbols of armies. Purple, besides association with military skill or tradition, is symbolic of Judgment/Justice, symbolism whose meaning is mostly lost to heh “time”.
Red(Gules/Ruĝa): This color in the human world is associated with military strength, prowess, and power(and typically restricted to Princes and their families). Instead, in the Zone it’s associated with royalty (Kingly). Only Pariah Dark, former and imprisoned, King of the ghost Zone ever wielded fully red ghost energy. The other powerful rulers of the Zone were known to occasionally use or possess red energy attacks. As a result, only the highest houses in the Zone carry red/gules in their crests, the most notable of which is House Glaurung, the current rulers of Kingdom Arachtalamh.
Black(Sable/Nigra/Nigrega): Sable, like in Human blazonry, is an uncommon color, although more so in the Human World. While in the Human World black represents religious piety, humility, constancy, or most often grief(when wielded by women), it has none of these associations in the Zone. Sable’s most common meaning is Power, but of a different type than Rose/Rozkolora. While pink’s associations are for enduring power, black’s are raw strength and ability. Black is also heavily associated with protection, guarding, and patience.(As opposed to persistence). It was common for Houses among the Vampire Clans to make use of both Sable and Rose in their patterning, invoking the meanings of stability and persistence along with raw power and patience.
Metals:
There are three metals in usage in Ghost Zone heraldry as opposed to Human World heraldry. The metals are gold(or), silver(argent), and cooper(cuivre). They all have their own meanings and common usages, and copper(cuivre) is more in line with the tincture Tanné in meaning and color(shining brighter tones rather than duller browns). The meanings most often ascribed to the metals are thus:
Gold(Or/Ora): The most commonly used metal in Ghost Zone heraldry, it finds its usage in every house in the zone that can make a fair claim to its meanings of wisdom, generosity, and glory(typically military). This makes it especially common in military houses, especially ruling clans, who use Ora as a symbol of their military glory. It is also used by Houses that strongly value wisdom(not the same as truth seeking). In both these cases, Ora is seen in the field of the arms. Its second most common usage is in religious symbology, not placed in the field, but instead in ordinaries, and especially in charges. In this case, it represents glory(to a Deity), and is either present to represent religious piety (generally found in ordinaries for higher ranking priests), or in the shape of a Charge in the specific holy symbol of the Deity in question. It is also the favored color of the God Kunnzkapp. Merchant Houses are the last caste where it sees significant usage, often as a reference to their (supposed) generosity, it is sometimes granted in a charge by a ruling clan or priests for their alms or aid in a crisis, though in this case, there more often than not is some bribing involved.
Because of the different implications of the metal, it is imperative that the onlooker have a reasonable understanding of what caste the family or clan belongs to before interpreting the meanings of their arms.
For example, the arms of House Glaurung contain Ora as both a subordinary(an orle) and a Charge. The dragon’s head is a holy symbol for several deities(Including Gwrtheyrn) and a (relatively) common charge in general. A fair assumption would be that this is the arms of a priest family, considering that both inclusions of the tincture are not on the field(as would be common in military clans). However, this has to do with the history of House Glaurung itself, which is said to take its right of rulership from Gwrtheyrn himself, being his mortal incarnation and vessel, a descendant of the Supreme God. As a result, their inclusion of Ora is in the position most commonly seen in the priest caste. For them, the Ora is said to represent Wisdom in the Orle, and their religious divine right to rule through the golden dragon head charge(while the field of Nigregra and Ruĝa is more representative of their military power, patience, guardianship/protectiveness/isolationist tendencies, royalty, and raw power.)
Silver(Argent/Arĝenta): Argent, represented by light gray or white, is the least common metal in use among noble houses, especially those in the military. Representing truth, sincerity, and peace, the metal finds much more usage among the rarer priest caste. The occasional usage in military families is restricted only to the Malproksime Frostiĝinta, whom value peace and scientific progress over military prowess and skill. The most notable and commonly recognized of these is the heraldry of House Frjósimhjøtur containing both Lazura and Arĝenta, the only major noble house with both colors in their arms, they represent humility, truth, and their commitment to peace. House Frjósimhjøtur is most well known for uniting the tribes of the Malproksime Frostiĝinta with diplomacy instead of conquest.
Copper(Cuivre/Kupra): The second most common metal in usage(though it is a distant second place), cuivre/kupra represents ambition, forward-thinking/vision, motivation, will-power, and determination. It is almost never seen on the field of a coat of arms, and is rarely seen in ordinaries and charges, but is especially common in motto, slogan, crest, supporters, ect. In other words, it’s far more common off the escutcheon itself. A significant deviation from this trend is in hereditary knighthoods, who often are gifted their titles or value ambition in their members. Instead, cuivre is seen in charges gifted when they receive their hereditary knighthood to represent tactical forethought or determination to serve their Monarch(even and especially when the family in question was non-military). It sees additional usage in the Ordinaries later born sons use to distinguish themselves and their family crest on their armor.(Typically in second to fourth born sons)
What is the relation between ghosts and magic in CiM? Or does it depend on the universe?
For between universes, for the sake of my sanity, magic is fairly one-to-one. The exceptions would be in the cases of those who continuously get powers directly from specific entities that are native to a specific universe (though there certainly is some overlap). For example, Poison Ivy's abilities would be much more limited in the DP universe on account of her getting her power from the Green--which doesn't exist in the same way there, if that makes sense. Her power has precedence in the DP-verse with entities like Undergrowth, but I can't see her powers working the same way there as opposed to the DCU. I'm thinking that at the very least, Ivy would have a much harder time getting the plants to do what she wants because the plants of this universe haven't been commanded like that before and aren't inclined to intrinsically respect Ivy.
As for ghosts, I think of ectoplasm as energy and emotion given substance, and magic is essentially energy that can be influenced and shaped by emotion, so magic can effect ectoplasm--and by extension, ghosts--in ways that other substances can't. It's why Freakshow was such a threat to Danny and other ghosts. He has access to magical knowledge and resources that have otherwise been forgotten or lost (i.e. his staff and the Reality Gauntlet) and as such can use it to strike further past a ghost's defenses.
The Fentons get by because they've taken a very "fight fire with fire" approach by powering all their weapons with ectoplasm. It's like if two people got into a bare-knuckle fist fight, more or less. It can still effect ghosts, but the range of effects are more limited; those effects being "touch" and "contain" which is really more than enough for the Fentons.
Fighting ectoplasm with magic is like bringing a sword to a fist fight. There's still a chance for the bare-knuckle fighter to win, but there's higher chance for them to take a lot of damage and the fight is more stacked against them. That metaphor is a bit reductive though since with magic, there's a wider range of effects the wielder can have on ectoplasm and ectoplasmic entities like "control," "bind," "banish," or "reshape" to name a few off the top of my head.
Basically what I'm saying is that if one Danny's rogues decided to pick a fight with a DC magic user, the fight wouldn't be too unbalanced. Of course, my thinking is that there are several magic systems in the DCU that are all layered on top of each other and have their own sets of rules and abilities. From a meta perspective, it can almost be viewed as something akin to the comic canon in how every run is has a different tone, theming, and rulebook. You have to keep in mind the era, writer, and general place in the Gordian Knot that is comic continuity to know fully what you're looking at.
Point is, DCU magic is a tedious mess of technicalities and rules layered on top of each other that can run the full spectrum from "whimsical fairyland" to "unadulterated nightmare fuel" and it's not always easy to tell the difference between them.
It's why Batman dislikes dealing with magic so much lol.
In a hypothetical situation where Danny Phantom ended up having to go to DC or Marvel, who would you choose? What do you think would work best?
Out of Marvel and DC, I think Marvel would have the easiest time incorporating Danny if one of them were to obtain the rights to him.
DC tends to be a bit on the darker side so he'd work there, but DP also has some things obviously based on Marvel stuff. Due to this, I feel it would be easier/require less changes if they wanted to bring him to an extended universe.
A Brief AU Explanation
I noticed that there are a lot of new followers that do know Danny Phantom, and others that the know very little. I am also aware that I haven't fully explained - maybe NOT in too much detail - the "story" and plots of my AU. You only have the ideas that I've been telling of this story through illustrations.
This AU is all about reconnecting with one self, with Jazz and Dan as the main two of this particular game.
Jazz remains as the same character that is portrayed through the OG show. She has always been the psychology enthusiast of the group, the one that cares for others and help with whatever she can. For her, others come first. First being her family.
On the other hand, we have Dan, an alternate entity of Danny’s ghost half and Vlad’s. A new form of entity that lost his humanity. For him to show any form of emotion is null.
Jazz involvement in this has to do with her putting everyone else first and then herself, and being keen to the study of the human-psyche, and now ghost-psyche, she secretly partakes to the role of Dan’s therapist. This was kept in secret from the rest of her friends and Danny until she can gain more control over Dan.
This, of course, prove to be a VERY difficult task. With her having to hide her constant fears when facing that “particular someone”: he could go on a rampage, have uncontrollable outbursts, cause havoc, and that he could turn against her any day/time without any remorse. She knows this, but she also knows that deep down, her little brother is still there. She’s looking to rekindle that part of him again. Of course, never knowing at what extent this could go.
And this, apparently started to bear fruit, although at a slow pace. As Jazz stood closer and closer to him, she understood that he stayed alone his entire life, and after losing everyone he cared, his violent actions were his significance of showing the world "hurting". The hurt he have been caring so many years. Now he has that second chance. To “live” a new life and Jazz wants to help him out.
With this new information, each time Jazz got close to him, Dan, instead of seeing her as an obnoxious-human-parasite, he slowly starts bonding with her. His interest increasing each day he is with her and grows more comfortable being around her (something Dan originally despised).
***
Part of this AU, enrolls on a particular context that the ghost of a halfa is sentient. The original show as proven this*. When Danny’s ghost has been separated, his ghost has a mind of his own, but when staying together, human-ghost, the consciousness of the halfa acts as one. *Episodes in question: What You Want, Identity Crisis, The Ultimate Enemy
This part that the ghost plays on the known halfas is a mayor plot point from this AU. Let me explain my concept briefly:
This roll that the ghost is part of the halfa is the one that caries the power of the wielder (human). The human can transform into the ghost and vice versa. The ghost powers remain within the ghost half. The human half acts as a vessel/host to the ghost half.
All living things have the instinct of survival. And on this case, the ghosts would do ANYTHING to keep their host safe as they are the means of a linked connection human-ghost. Not unlike the rest of non-halfa- ghosts that their link/host relies on the Ghost Zone -since they no longer have a corporeal body, the vessel for their survival is ectoplasmic energy, the one that emanates from the GZ.
***
Since Dan is no longer connected to a human, he became a full-ghost. An entity that merged from two ghost halfas. He can sustain himself alone, but strangely enough, he building a bond with Jazz, it rekindled what Jazz intended, but in an unusual way. Jazz intention was to try and reconnect Dan with his long-lost humanity. Even if he didn’t have a human half, both his ghosts may have some little information stored deep within of what that used to feel like. And even though that started to give results, the ghost also retained that of his original purpose: Protect the host.
And as the bond Dan and Jazz grew more and more, unknown to them, it caused a physical manifestation: a white streak formed in Jazz’s hair. And even if this came up as a surprise to Jazz, she later discovered that this manifestation was much more than just physical.
Dan rekindled his humanity but he, unknowingly, intertwined Jasmine’s humanity to his. Her humanity is part of him. Jasmine’s emotions have an impact on him. Whatever she feels, he can sense it, let them be good or bad ones.
They both are this new form of halfa, both human and ghost are separate life forms, but from the ghost side -Dan’s perspective- Jazz is acting as his human half. His host. That’s is why his instincts respond to protect her at all costs.
No. This new form of a halfa representation doesn't mean Jazz has ghost powers. The one with that power is Dan. This bond is more of a psychic link.
 (i.e. In European folklore, you “could” say Dan is Jasmine’s "familiar", although Jazz is not considered to be a witch, but imagine the possibilities of this small plot causing people or ghosts to think Jazz is a witch… idk… random ideas)
This is why Dan is more sympathetic towards Jazz and why their bond is very important.
