So, according to the leaked toyline for Transformers Rise of the Beasts, Barricade might be returning to the films

Of course, this should be taken with a grain of salt, as Barricade has already appeared in two toylines for movies he did not appear in (Revenge on the Fallen and Bumblebee movie)

But on the other hand, we still have yet to hear anything about any specific Decepticon characters in ROTB, and Barricade is a good, popular choice, plus it continues his tradition of appearing every 2 movies

Transformers AU where when the Decpticons get to earth, instead of battling the Autobots they see us humans are suffering what they suffered. Elites taking more and more and Politicians giving in to their reckless demands. Seeing it as a proper second chance, Megatron and Co help the poor, downtrodden and hated humans fight against the elite and their oppressors just like they did before Megatron lost himself in his hunger for power. Soundwave hacking into billionaire accounts and giving small amounts of their vast wealth to people who need it and it can’t be traced to him because we don’t understand his tech. Megatron offering advice and guidance to people who fight revolutions for the people and showing them how to be proper leaders. The combaticons giving these fighters advanced weapons to fight back with and even joining them as Bruticas when possible. The constructicons doing what they do best and building free homes for the homeless and those who can’t afford it. And if a State or Government official tries to destroy them, well Devastator would like a word with them first. Knockout and Breakdown protecting the LGBTQ+ community from anyone who would harm them. Starscream and the seekers join them sometimes. Barricade pretending to be a police officer with his Holoform and fucking up any cops who dare overstep and hurt/kill people. Shockwave. He’s kind of one track minded. However seeing the energy crisis and global warming and how Earth is well on its way to be dead like Cybertron due to corporations, he would help earth scientists build pure clean energy machines and may or may not destroy some corps while he’s at it. Man has no patience for those that ignore facts. I could go on and on. But I think it would be interesting. The autobots wake up and are shocked that the Decpticons A: Have no interest in fighting them, and B: are helping a primitive race and not failing like they did back home.
