A bigger problem than cocaine?
Tumblr media
"Laughing gas" (Nitrous oxide) was first used as an anesthetic and was widely used in dental and surgical operations from 1844. Later, it was gradually replaced by a better anesthetic. Nitrous oxide is also a recreational drug that has been abused due to its euphoric effects and ability to cause laughter when inhaled. But the vast majority of people who take it don't know how dangerous it is. When inhaling laughing gas, may cause sudden asphyxia due to too little oxygen.
It can also cause nerve damage, resulting in reduced intelligence, audiovisual ability, and hand flexibility in a short time. Long-term consumption may lead to symptoms such as vitamin B deficiency, muscle paralysis, and even paralysis.

sometimes being an adult is also soft-core parenting your peers into not dying from an impacted molar because they did not know you could just "go to a dentist" or that you could get dental insurance independently, as opposed to workplace dental. my sister's boyfriend has a whole flock of 20 something guy friends who have somehow made it this long with very little information about how the world works. the boyfriend is coming home telling my sister stuff like "wow. sucks that Kyle's tooth is still killing him. nothing you can do tho" and then my sister just sits there a moment and i can see her thinking "do i let this go, or do i do something?" and she inevitably caves and goes "okay so when you say his tooth is killing him, do you mean literally?" honestly i think schools should focus more on "how insurance works and how to get it" and "this is how to figure out what kind of state/federal support is available and who is eligible for it, and how to apply" and "yes anyone can go to a food pantry you don't have to be a certain level of poor or provide proof" and then "these are signs that you should go to the doctor/dentist ASAP" and "here are some basic lessons on how to clean/maintain your house/apartment." throw in some info on basic hygiene and actual decent sex ed just for fun. because i swear to god, there are a LOT of people who do NOT know these things, and i'm pretty sure it is legit killing some of them.
#education#information#he ended up having a seriously impacted wisdom tooth and was in a lot of pain for a LONG time#like at least months. and he just...did not know that he could do anything about it#if you leave something like that untreated long enough you could actually die#you could develop a serious infection in your gums and jaw that can lead to death#please get dental insurance. and if u have on that kinda sucks that comes w/your state plan or so on#there are some dental offices that offer 'membership plans' or similar things#that are not technically insurance so they don't conflict w/ur state stuff#but they are for all intents and purposes dental insurance#if possible please get dental insurance. everyone gets tooth problems and they suck in untreated#and can lead to serious health complications#my sister is the expert on hooking ppl up w/support shit#probably because we're on a bunch#and bc my nephew is very medically complex so we're coordinating several programs at once for him#for real he qualifies for tons of shit due to So Many Problems#and my sister is very proactive about We Will Just Take All Benefits Thank You#she pays it back by pushing other ppl to apply for things they definitely qualify#usually. again. the boyfriend's buddies. who are all just like barely scraping by#my sister just aghast that they're just raw-dogging life. like my guy u absolutely qualify for some aide#please. here is a list of things to apply for and the websites to find them/numbers to call#for real everyone just go google 'state benefits [your state]' right now#a lot of ppl qualify for SNAP or WIC and other stuff and just don't know it

Teethhealing - Pro+
When it comes to keeping your Fawn Cane Corso healthy, there are a few basics that you should keep in mind. For one, make sure the temperature inside their home is kept between 68 Fahrenheit to c (or 20-25 Celsius). This will help them regulate their body temperature and ensure they’re comfortable at all times. Additionally, you should be brushing and flossing their teeth at least once a week to prevent decay and gum disease. It’s also important to take them for regular check-ups with the vet, and if they require a wisdom teeth extraction or other dental surgery make sure it is carried out promptly by an experienced veterinarian. Finally, as a freelancer it is important to stay on top of your pet’s health so that you are not met with any unexpected medical bills. Be sure to check in with your vet regularly and keep an eye out for any warning signs of illness or discomfort. With the right care, your Fawn Cane Corso will remain happy and healthy for years to come. For more information, you can visit the Teet healing website.

You stretched your shoulders as you glanced at the clock on the wall. It was finally 6 and time to head home from your job as a dental assistant. It had been a long day of coaxing little kids to open their mouths for X-rays and calming the poor children that hated the dentist, but you had some leftover Chinese food in the fridge that you were in a hurry to get home and devour. Unless, of course, you got your usual visitor.
“Hey, (Y/N), I saw you walking home from work the other day,” your boss and one of the pediatric dentists, Aaron, mentioned as the two of you collected your things. “I can give you a ride home if you want.”
Aaron seemed like a nice guy, but you didn’t want to take advantage of his kindness.
“I’m okay,” you said. “I walk home everyday. It’s good for my health.”
He frowned, seeming put out at your refusal.
“Come on, let me drive you,” he pushed. “It’s dangerous for you to walk alone in the evening. I’d feel terrible if something happened to you.”
You gave him a smile and waved away his concerns.
“Really, I’m fine,” you said, but Aaron wasn’t happy with that answer.
“There have been a string of muggings on your street,” he insisted. “Come on, let me give you a ride. I’m just concerned about your safety.”
You were sure you didn’t need a ride, but Aaron seemed insistent and you didn’t want to sour your work relationship by appearing ungrateful for his friendly concern.
“Okay,” you finally agreed, exhausted from a long day and not feeling like fighting with him.
He brightened up at that and seemed giddy to lead you to his car.
Aaron drove an expensive sports car, which he was eager to show off.
“What do you think?” he asked you, demonstrating the heated seats and dynamic driving features.
You had absolutely no interest in cars, so you just nodded politely until he was done and pulled out of the parking lot. He put on some music and you leaned back into the comfortable seat, trying to enjoy the ride. It was nice to be off of your feet after a long day’s work, even though you felt uneasy sitting next to Aaron. You rested your eyes for just a moment but when you opened them, it seemed like Aaron wasn’t going in the direction of your house.
“I think you’re going the wrong way,” you informed him and he gave you an easy smile.
“I know,” he said. “I figured you’d be hungry so I’m taking us to one of my favorite spots.”
You frowned, not sure what to say.
“I really can’t afford to eat out, Aaron,” you said, trying to figure out how to politely turn him down. “I have some leftovers at home…”
He shook your concerns away.
“Don’t worry about it. Dinner’s on me,” he said. “I’ve always wanted to have some time alone with you so we can really talk. We work together, but I feel like I hardly know you.”
His words made your stomach twist. He wanted to have time alone with you? Aaron was good-looking enough, he had blonde hair, blue eyes, and was quite tall, but you weren’t interested in getting to know him beyond casual chatter around the office.
“You really don’t have to do this,” you tried to argue, but he wasn’t listening, instead tapping the steering wheel with his fingers and humming along to the song on the radio.
While your thoughts churned over how to get him to take you home, your phone buzzed.
Where are you?
It was your friend Orion. Since you’d met him out with your friends one night, he’d been coming by a lot. Instead of going out on another tour with the mercenary group he had worked for, he took a private security job in the city and often stopped by your house for coffee or meals.
You had a huge crush on him. Who wouldn’t? He was enormous, with verdant skin and an arm full of sexy tattoos. His face was the picture of rugged masculinity. His jaw had sharp planes and his tusks were white and shiny.  Since he wasn’t with the merc group anymore, he’d let his hair grow out a little longer and it was always messy in a way that gave you post-sex hair vibes. You weren’t a particularly good flirt, but you tried your best to show him you were interested with little touches here and there.
It was hard to tell how he felt about you. He was very protective, but he wasn’t pushy like other guys you’d been with. Every time he came over he was incredibly polite. You’d watch movies together or make him dinner, but he never tried to kiss you or touch you more than casually. You were desperate for his kiss, but too shy to make a move. What if he just wanted to be friends? It would be humiliating. Plus he wouldn’t come over anymore if you made things weird and you didn’t want that. You’d gotten used to having dinner with him at least three times a week if he wasn’t working. You’d even started stocking extra food because he ate a lot.
My boss is taking me to dinner.
He didn’t answer right away, instead, you watched the dots showing he was typing flash for a few moments before he finally responded.
Where?
You glanced up at Aaron to find him looking at you.
“Who’s that?” he asked, his thin lips curving into a frown.
“Oh, just a friend,” you replied. “So where are you taking me? I’m starving.”
He seemed pleased you were interested in where you were going and brightened up.
“The Whisk and Ladle,” he said. “It’s a great place. You’ll love it.”
You balked when he said the name.
“Aaron, that’s expensive!” you gasped. “I’m not really dressed for-”
You were still wearing the scrubs you wore to work, printed with little mice wearing sunglasses. You were dressed to work with children, not go to a five-star restaurant. Again, he waved your concerns away.
“Nonsense,” he said. “You always look beautiful. Let me treat you.”
You nodded, quietly, feeling more and more uncomfortable the closer you got to the restaurant. If you’d have been a tougher woman, you’d have made a fuss, demanded he take you home or jump out of the car, but you were worried about losing your job. Money was tight and you didn’t have any savings to float you until you found something else. You needed to make Aaron happy so he wouldn’t find some excuse to get rid of you.
After a few minutes, you texted Orion the name. Some little part of you wished he would come to save you from what was about to be an extremely awkward dinner, but you were sure he’d never do that. From what you knew of him, he was strong but an extremely measured orc. You never saw him upset or out of control.
When you arrived, Aaron was sure to help you out of the car, and as you walked inside he had his hand on your lower back until it slipped down to cup your bottom. Instinctively you took a step away, but he didn’t seem to notice as he spoke with the hostess. Weirdly, he had a reservation, as if he’d planned this date long before he offered to give you a ride home.
You were seated at a pretty table with a white tablecloth and a small centerpiece of roses, which was very pretty but entirely too formal for your liking. Looking over the menu, your mouth fell open at the prices. A Cobb salad was $30!
“Get whatever you like,” Aaron said, smiling at you from across the table, “it’s on me.”
You gave him a tight nod, trying to force a polite smile on your face, but the idea of him spending this much money on you made you uncomfortable. When the waiter arrived, you ordered the cheapest thing available and water. He took your menus, and Aaron turned his attention to you.
“I’m thrilled you decided to join me, (Y/N),” he said as if he hadn’t set all of this up without your knowledge beforehand. “I’ve always admired you. You’re incredibly beautiful.”
“Uh…thanks, I guess,” you murmured, wishing you were anywhere but there.
“Can I tell you a secret?” he asked, leaning in to get closer to you.
“Sure,” you said.
He gave you a conspiratorial smile.
“I always intended on asking you out. That’s why I hired you,” he explained. “I love coming to work every day and seeing you.”
You immediately frowned. While you were sure he intended that to be flattering, it was incredibly creepy. He hadn’t hired you for your experience? He just wanted to date you?
You were thinking of something to say when there was a commotion at the front of the restaurant.
“Sir! You can’t come in without a reservation!” the hostess was yelling and to your surprise, Orion was marching across the dining room looking pissed off. His dark eyes immediately found yours, and you hoped he read the relief in them.
“Orion!” you gasped, looking up at him.
He glanced away, glaring at Aaron.
“Excuse me,” Aaron said, indignant. “You’re interrupting our dinner.”
Orion ignored Aaron and turned his intense gaze back to you. Your heart skipped in your chest, and your cheeks burned. The look in his eyes was a mixture of ravenous hunger and complete outrage.
“Did you agree to this dinner?” he snapped, and your mouth went dry.
Unable to form words, you quickly shook your head with a tight jerk.
“He just brought me here,” you finally managed to squeak out. “I-I wasn’t planning on-”
He cut you off raising a large hand, looking back at Aaron.
“You kidnapped my woman,” he snarled.
Your eyes popped at the words “my woman.” Did Orion consider you his?
Aaron shrank under Orion’s gaze.
“I-I would hardly say kidnapped…” he stammered.
Orion growled.
“Did he touch you?” he asked.
You tried to lie and say he hadn’t, but your face told him something different.
“It was just a little touch,” you peeped when it was obvious he could tell the little shake of your head that you gave him was an untruth.
Before you could finish the last word, Orion clocked Aaron in the jaw with his meaty fist. His chair toppled over and he lay sprawled out on the floor, unconscious.
“Orion!” you squealed again, but he wasn’t listening.
He scooped you up and threw you over his shoulder, marching back out of the restaurant while all the guests watched in shock. The waiters and the hostess jumped out of his way as he passed.
“Orion! What are you doing?” you asked as you bounced on his shoulder.
Instead of answering, his chest rumbled with a deep noise that released butterflies in your stomach.
He opened the passenger door to his truck and carefully set you inside, buckling the seatbelt over your chest before he shut the door. Then he hopped in the driver’s side and peeled out of the parking lot.
You stared at your friend, eyes as big as saucers as he drove through the darkening city.
“Why did you do that?” you questioned. “You could get in big trouble! He might get you arrested!”
He snorted.
“For protecting my mate from her sexually harassing boss? Doubt it.”
You blinked at him. Mate?
There were different rules for the Fairyfolk when it came to mates. They defended them so fiercely a new set of laws had to be drawn up to protect this “cultural difference.” Every human knew not to touch a Fairyfolk’s mate. You shook your head, trying to sort through what was happening.
“Where are we going?” you asked, as he was not going in the direction of your house.
“Home,” he said.
You blinked at him.
“My apartment is the opposite way,” you argued, but he just pinned you with a look.
You drew your brow and crossed your arms, pouting.
“Orion! Why aren’t you talking to me?” you asked.
His face softened, and he twisted his hands on the steering wheel, taking a big breath before he answered you.
“I don’t like that he touched you,” he said. “No one touches you but me. You’re mine.”
Your mouth fell open just a bit before you forced it closed, swallowing a lump in your throat.
“Yours?” you asked and he nodded curtly.
“B-but…you never said…” you stammered.
“Not good with words,” he grunted.
“Oh,” you said, your mouth forming a surprised O shape.
You turned away from him, looking out the front windshield at the darkening city slipping by.
“Where is home?” you asked.
“You’ll see,” was all he would say.
You folded your legs under your body and leaned your head against the window, tired. Your heart was pounding and a slight tremor left you vibrating against the seat. Where could Orion be taking you?
At some point you must have dozed off because when you woke the truck had come to a stop and Orion was opening your door.
“Where are we?” you murmured, your words a bit slurred from sleep.
He unbuckled your seatbelt and took you in his arms.
“Home,” he said.
You peered through the darkness to find you were no longer in the city, but on one of the mountains that surrounded it. Over your shoulder you could see the city lights twinkling in the valley like stars. In front of you there was a beautiful cabin home. It was two stories with full pane glass windows and a wrap-around porch.
“This is where you live?” you gasped.
You’d always assumed Orion had some flat in the city just like yours.
“It is where you live, too,” he corrected.
Your eyes widened on him as he took you up the front steps and unlocked the door.
“I can’t live here!” you argued. “I’m too far away from work!”
He chuckled, a deep rumble in his chest.
“You will not go back to work,” he told you, setting you on the couch and turning his back to you so he could put fuel in the woodstove.
“But…how will I make money?” you asked.
“You don’t need money,” he said. “I have plenty of it.”
“But…but…” you stammered, trying to wrap your head around the situation.
Was Orion claiming you? Did you want to be claimed?
The door of the woodstove clanged shut and he spun around, his smokey eyes on you. He lowered himself to his knees in front of you so you were eye to eye.
“I’m not sure I understand-” you started to say, but were silenced with his lips slanting over yours.
Your whole world swung upside down as he kissed you. Electricity shot down your spine, energy sparkling at the apex of your thighs. You breathed a wispy sigh into his mouth and the large fingers of one hand clutched the nape of your neck, holding you to him. This was the kiss you’d been desperately pining for and it was more than you could have ever imagined.
When he pulled away, he pinned you with his inky gaze.
“You’re mine, got it?” he rumbled.
You whimpered and nodded, your thoughts muddled and his rich, spicy scent filling your lungs. He pulled you to him again, this time his kiss was more hungry and needy. You felt his smooth tusks against your cheek and his stiff tongue licking your bottom lip, wanting entrance. You parted your lips for him, letting him explore. He licked and tasted you while your fingers dared to creep up his chest, feeling the hard planes of muscle underneath his shirt. At your touch, he let out a deep rolling sound.
Though Orion was eager to get your clothes off of you, he knew you were delicate, both inside and out. He adored your soft spirit and vowed never to crush it, so instead of taking you to bed and ravishing you, he rose to get comfortable on the big couch, pulling you into his lap and wrapping his arms around your warm body. He smoothed his large hand over your hair, tucking your head under his chin.
He lamented waiting far too long to claim you, not wanting to frighten you and scare you away, but he couldn’t tolerate some other male hovering around. You belonged to him whether you knew it or not and it was well past time to claim you for his own.
Completely oblivious to these thoughts, you sighed into his chest, listening to the gentle boom of his heartbeat, and feeling like you’d come home.

50 ONE LEVEL CAREERS: Storytelling careers megapack by isy's the snake
Tumblr media
Here is yet another career mod pack, but this one has no promotions, you just work and your job level stays at 1. As the title say this mod is best for story telling!
creator's notes-
This mod requires XML Injector by Scumbumbo. You can find it here. Pay attention if you don't already have it for another mod! In that case, you do not need to re-install it. Be sure it is updated for the last patch.
XML Injector is a mod required for some mods to work. So, you install it as any other mod in your Mods folder, no more than one subfolder deep.
This mod has been updated for the version 1.99.305 of the game (second update after Horse Ranch).
It doesn't required any DLC to work. Base game compatible
I've adopted this mod from the amazing ItsKatato who, due to her hiring at EA, couldn't continue to mod. I have made some changes: • I have changes all the pics of the careers — now they all show Sims (please check the credits paragraph at the end to see who was the amazing raccoon who helped me); • I have updated the mod for the Horse Ranch patch; • I have cleared ALL the tuning errors; • Fixed the description of some careers who appeared to be missing.
Now, here we go with the explanation of the mod (originally written by ItsKatato, edited by me):
Katato said: "Have you ever had a story planned out for your sims but you can't find the perfect career for them? Most of the time when I find the career it ends up being a complicated career with a bunch of promotion tasks and extra stuff. Well, I've made a pack of a bunch of single-level careers. All your sim has to do is go to work, that's it. This is perfect for the non-important sims in your life, like the forgotten children of your legacy challenge." In short: those are 50 careers you can use for NPCs Sims or random Sims you do not want to care about. As Amethyst said: "Go to work, make money, leave me alone". Your Sims won't need any task to perform to upgrade and get a promotion, as well as they do not really need an ideal mood to go to work since it won't change their performance. They just go and do their job. And now the list of all careers:
1. Anesthetiologist 2. Cartographer 3. Chiropractor 4. Compliance Officer 5. Data Scientist 6. Dental Hygienist 7. Dentist 8. Diagnostic Medical Sonographer 9. Financial Advisor 10. Financial Manager 11. Genereal Surgeon 12. Genetic Counselor 13. Home Health Aide 14. Information Security Analyst 15. IT Manager 16. Interpreter And Translator 17. Lawyer 18. Marriage And Family Therapist 19. Massage Therapist 20. Mathematician 21. Mechanical Engineer 22. Medical And Health Services Manager 23. Nurse Anesthetist 24. Nurse Practitioner 25. I'm terrible at describing myself because I'm under the impression that all the things I'm doing are normal and not interesting to mention. So when introducing myself to the queer activist group here they were like 'so tell us about yourself.'
L: "Oh, well, I'm a photographer by trade and I work mostly with kids and performers. I'm afraid its all very boring."
Person 1: "Oh, that's not true! You vended at our pride festival this year, and I think you also performed?"
L: "... did I perform? I know I danced around the block with finger cymbals in the evening because I was trying to bring the good vibes back. But I did perform at Dayton and Nelsonville's pride festivals."
Person 2: "Nelsonville has a Pride Festival?"
L: "Oh yeah, this was their first one. One of my dancer friends is connected with SEORA board, who was organizing it and they're trying to do more queer stuff."
Person 1: "What's SEORA?"
Person 2: "Rewind: what were you performing?"
L: "Mmm? Oh, I was bellydancing. I'm learning with a local troupe. And SEORA is Southern Ohio Rainbow Alliance."
Person 3: "You're a bellydancer?? You know other bellydancers??? Can you do fire spinning??"
L: "I am NOT doing fire spinning until I've got solid health and dental insurance, but I know a couple ladies that do fire, hoop, and stilt. But if you're planning for pride, please for the love of god make sure the fire marshal is informed or we are breaking so many laws. I'm learning sword, though- might be confident enough to do that by June."
Person 3: "SWORD?? Please tell me what you do with the sword. Like do you swallow swords?"
L: "I mostly do balance tricks, but if you want a sword swallower I could probably ask someone in SEORA if they still have contact info for the one they had this year."
All: "..."
L: "... so I probably should have lead with the dancer thing, huh."

On this day 75 years ago, 5 July 1948, the UK National Health Service (NHS) was founded, on the principle that medical treatment should be provided according to need rather than the ability to pay. During World War II, to motivate millions of people to sacrifice and dedicate themselves to the war effort, the government promised reforms to benefit working class people after the war was over. Conservative MP Quentin Hogg had warned Parliament that 'if you do not give the people social reform, they are going to give you social revolution.' Sure enough, after the war ended, servicemen returning home, and others, began demanding better conditions, backing it up with direct action, like a huge wave of squatting. The NHS was part of a package of reforms introduced following the conflict to ensure social peace. But almost right away, it came under attack. Legislation to bring in prescription charges was introduced by the Labour Party in 1949. Then fees for dental treatments were introduced, and ever since the free, socialised service has been under attack from successive governments who have gradually introduced more charges, marketisation and privatisation. And it's up to us, the working class, to defend it. “anyone who doesn't wear a mask is disabling or killing people“ this is a true statement. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go to the dentist or make other complex decisions. But it is a true statement and I do not fucking like how anon implied it’s not. Also very telling that the focus here is about the abled choice to do things, and not how the same choice from a disabled perspective is about weighing our own lives. Sometimes a small risk is still pretty unnacceptable for certain people ( not the Normals of course! ) Also also can you give me sources on the dentist thing. I actually do believe you I just want to be able to better judge that risk myself because like I said I clearly have a different health risk to balance than you
That is literally not a true statement. That is not how statistical risk works, and flattening a very complicated risk calculus to such a simple, factually incorrect statement is not helpful in allowing people to make informed mitigation decisions.
Would you say that every person who has ever had sex without a condom has killed someone? Of course not. It is not the case that every person who has ever gone maskless has disabled or killed someone. It would be accurate to say that every time a person goes unmasked around others, they place the people around them at risk of serious illness or death. The reality is quite severe enough! we don't need to erroneously call anyone who has taken a sip of water on the bus a killer to convey the seriousness of this issue!
The dental data: here are some studies to get you started. The risk for patients is consistently very low. Studies are a bit more mixed on provider outcomes! but most still indicate it being low. Thanks for asking.

Hey yall I mentioned earlier that my dog needs dental surgery and I'm having trouble affording it so I set up a gofundme for help. Sharing is greatly appreciated. I am not good at this, so if you need more information please ask and I will answer as best I can
I've talked to the vet a few times over the years about how I'm concerned for his dental health, and they said just keep doing what I was doing. But last month we found two of his teeth on the ground and it turns out he has severe periodontal disease that I probably never would have gotten ahead of. They said he needs a deep clean and at least half his teeth extracted, but that he should feel better and have a normal and improved quality of life after.

Adopters' names do appear on the website but you can designate that you wish to be anonymous.
Recurring Needs:
thegeeksqueaks is a high school science teacher (who has fundraised previously for supplies and comfort items for her students, particularly her neurodivergent and queer students) who has been seeking a diagnosis for ongoing migraines, vertigo, and head pain for most of the year; she now has a diagnosis and a procedure date, but needs to raise $1.5K to cover the post-insurance payment estimate. You can read more, reblog, and find giving information here, give via Paypal here, and give via Venmo here.
rilee16 is raising funds to cover utilities, to afford medication and possibly an upcoming move without local support; they've also had expenses related to a recent incident where their roommate, who has been a problem for some time, got violent and the police got involved, and for their own safety they've had to stay elsewhere at times. Currently they are dealing with a shorted paycheck and an overdraft because of it. You can read more, reblog, and find giving information here.
gwydion linked to a fundraiser for a friend, whose dog Rosie needs medical care, dental work, and special food; you can read more and give here at gofundme.

Things I’ve Learned As A Young Woman
I’m in my (almost) mid 20s, I turn 25 in a few weeks. Since my birthday is coming up I’ve been reflecting on things I’ve learned as I always do in the weeks leading up. I want this blog to be a safe space for women to learn and grow in community so I wanted to share some of the lessons and pass them on to others.
Health
1. Consult with your doctor(s) before starting any sort of diet, no matter how good you may think it will be for you
At the end of the day, the internet is not a doctors office. You don’t know how a diet could personally affect you, as a woman and / or as a human. You don’t know if trying a certain diet will deprive you of a vitamin you’re already deficient in. You don’t know if that diet is good for your reproductive health in the long run.
2. Tying into point 1, always get your yearly check ups (blood panel, obgyn checkups, yearly physical, dental cleanings, etc.)
A lot can change in a year. You don’t know what could have developed, what you could have become deficient in, what you need less of, etc. if you don’t get your yearly checkups done. Staying informed and up to date is one of the best ways to combat anything that could come up, benign or not. Keeping up with your health is the highest form of self care!!
3. Speak to your doctor(s) extensively AND do your own medically backed research before choosing to go on birth control (and seriously consider other options first)
I know this can be a bit of a taboo topic but quite frankly I don’t care. Doctors nowadays are VERY quick to push birth control onto women without educating them on all the side effect, ways it can affect our bodies with long term use AND what can happen when you get off of the pill. I understand a lot of you want to partake in sex without having to worry (more on that in another point...) or you want to take it for other reasons not pertaining to sex but the healthiest way is to naturally keep track of your cycle and ovulation schedule. No one told me the issues I would have taking birth control for years and then getting off. I didn’t even start taking it to have safe sex, I started taking it when I as 16 because of the bad period symptoms I was having and to help control my acne. When I finally got off of it, my hormones were a wreck and I was diagnosed with PMDD thanks to the birth control wrecking my hormones. It took me literal months of research and trial and error to naturally re-balance my hormones. 9.5 times out of 10 taking birth control is just not worth it. Before you decide, please make sure you weigh all of the pros and cons and look into other options.
4. Please be careful what you are putting in AND on your body
We are in a day and age where there are chemicals in and on everything. As women, a lot of these things mess with our hormones, our reproductive health and overall health. You have to do the work of reading labels on food products, researching if anything in your household products are harmful, purchasing all natural products when possible (makeup, cleaning products, candles, air sprays, etc.), and making as many things at home as you can (air sprays, cleaning solution, food, etc.). The companies making these harmful products are not going to tell us the risks. They’re just not. The detergent company you’re using to wash your intimates is not going to tell you how the chemicals they’re putting in their detergent is going to make your hormones unbalanced when you wear the underwear you washed with it. It is up to you as a woman to watch out for anything that can be harmful to your health. I wish it wasn’t that way but it is.
Mental Health
1. Stress and Anxiety are real and can really affect your body negatively
The affects of anxiety and stress are real. They can wreck havoc on the body. Find activities that help channel it. Journal. Speak to a therapist. Let go of what you cannot control. Research if what you’re consuming is helping contribute to the issue.
2. Therapy does not make you weak
There is literally no shame in speaking to a therapist and anyone who thinks so needs to grow up. It’s actually extremely responsible and mature to make the decision to speak to someone to become a better you. You don’t even need to have gone through a traumatic experience to speak to someone. Therapy guides you in digging deep about every “why”. Why you respond the way you do, why you think the way you do, why you love that thing so much, what made you who you are today.  Everyone can benefit from therapy in some way.
3. Your diet plays a part in your mental health
The mind-gut connection is real. What you put into your body has an affect on your mental health, especially as a woman. Yet another reason why it’s so crucial to know what you are putting into and on your body. Take it from someone who spent months and months naturally balancing her hormones. It matters.
Relationships
1. Stop sleeping with just anyone. That’s not being “liberated”.
I’m going to tell you right now. Stop. Your flower is extremely sacred. Letting anyone and everyone have access to it is not being a liberated woman. It’s actually trapping you into the mindset that being treated with the bare minimum (aka how you should always be treated by a man or woman) equals sex. If a man takes you out and doesn’t ask to split the bill you’re about ready to give it all to him on the first date because “he’s rare”. No. Number one, men like that are not rare, you’re just looking in the wrong places and / or entertaining low value men. Number two, men automatically see that as “oh so all I have to do is treat her with the bare minimum, she’ll eat it up and I can smash her”. Sorry, but it’s true. That type of treatment I just named is the BARE minimum. How a man or woman should treat you every single time of every single day. You have no idea how that man actually is from one or two dates. He could be putting on a show hoping to get in your pants. Honestly, that’s most likely what he is doing. And if he’s not, why give one of the most important part of yourself so soon? You’re just that easy to impress? Stop! A man worth giving time to knows how to control his sexual urges and will not ask you to have sex on the first few dates. Honestly, the men worth giving time to will wait for you to feel comfortable enough to bring it up, they won’t even mention it! Or on the other hand, if you’re sleeping with just anyone because you want to be a “liberated woman” who wants to express her sexuality freely, true liberation comes from being picky about who you choose to share yourself with and feeling safe and seen enough to share it with them. How do you feel after you have sex with someone in the name of being “liberated”? Once the hormones settle I bet you feel like crap. Let’s also mention that you don’t know who else they’ve slept with. You don’t know what someone else they slept with has. You’re genuinely putting your health at risk every time you choose to share yourself with someone you barely know. Not to mention you’re risking making another human with a man you don’t even know would be a good father, if he chooses to acknowledge he’s the father at all (harsh, I know, but unfortunately very true). And if you do know them, you should feel comfortable enough to ask them about their sexual history, when the last time they got checked was AND to show you proof they are free of any STIs. If not, then you shouldn’t be sleeping with them. If they refuse or make excuses, you definitely shouldn’t be sleeping with them!
2. Stop looking for love, let it find you
I won’t lie to you, this one took me a while to learn.  But I’ve mastered it now. Love is not something you find. I truly believe that. Love finds you when you are ready for it. Whether that be forever love or a love that’s meant to teach you and prepare you for the next level of life and eventually the next love. I was on dating apps on and off for years. I believe dating apps can help you gain experience and help you meet new people but in my opinion I don’t think they’re conducive to finding your forever love. There are exceptions to that just like there are to everything but I believe letting love find you when it’s meant to is the best way to do it. Now if you genuinely feel like you’re being called to use dating apps to find love than by all means do so, but do the work first and make sure it’s not just because you feel lonely, left out, impatient to find your person, or are afraid to be alone. I had to be honest with myself and say that I was on dating apps because I was being impatient. And after digging deeper into that I realized it was one of the reasons I was still single. I wasn’t letting love unfold when it was supposed to, I was looking for it and forcing it. You can’t force love no matter how hard you try. Since being honest with myself, I found that I would much rather find my love interests organically. Not having to force it by swiping right solely based on how the person looks and a shallow glance into their interests. If I meet someone with potential at a bookstore, I already know we have something in common, a love of reading. Plus, there is so much more to life than a romantic relationship. Focus on you and creating your ideal life. Date yourself. Treat yourself how you want someone to treat you one day. I know we’ve all heard those so much but there’s a reason for it, they’re true! Love will find you when it’s supposed to. What’s for you will never pass you.
These are some of the many lessons I’ve learned on my journey. I truly hope at least some of these taught you something or rang true for you. If so, send me a message I’d love to hear. Or if you have any questions on any of the topics I touched on, send me a message and I’ll expand on it!
With love,
DK

Things I Currently Do For Better Health 🎀
Hi lovelies 💗
I try to live my life in alignment with my values, the biggest value being improved quality of life. I like to think I've included a lot of different things into my life to improve overall quality of health and life. So here's a list of things I do that help me with consistent improved health!
*I do not do these things every single day/every single week! Sometimes life happens, as I am a full time employee and a full time college student, so there are times I am too busy or too tired for some things. However, these are things I like to work really hard to consistently implement in my life <3
🩷 Mental (Intelect) Health -
Reading at least 1 chapter of a book, typically self help or productivity focused
Studying a 2nd language! Currently focusing on Japanese but contemplating adding in Spanish as a secondary focus
Consuming informative content! I love podcasts, and I really like watching Ted talks! And of course, the books I read tend to be more non-fiction, just from personal preference
Academics! Keeping up with my school work and academic life keeps me well informed. I'm always learning something new in my classes! I also personally enjoy studying, I lowkey love academic validation!
🩷 Mental (Emotional) Health -
Journaling! I try to follow a guided journal as often throughout the week as I can and I try to do some writing in my normal journal every so often, but honestly I've been a little too busy for journaling
Therapy! I know not everyone has access to a therapist, but I absolutely love being able to talk to a mental health professional at least once a week. My therapist has been the greatest help, especially as things have gotten more stressful in my life.
Rest! It's really important for me to have down time and not feel guilty about taking some rest time for myself. I always make sure I'm in a position to take rest without compromising school work or anything, but I try to have some time during the week where I can just lay in bed and do nothing for a while.
Meditation! This is one I'm still trying to implement, but I used to meditate for 5 to 10 minutes in the morning and it always gave me some mental clarity and ease of kind for the day. Definitely want to pick it back up!
Yoga! So good for mindfulness, finding stillness and relaxation, and overall ease of my being in general. It's like a super peaceful flowy version of stretching, and I'm adding this back into my routine slowly.
🩷 Physical Health -
Exercise! I try to get in movement daily. Some days that's lifting weights in the gym or doing some moderate cardio on the treadmill, and other days that means light cardio from everyday tasks or some mindful stretching and yoga to relax my body after a long day
Sleep! I try to get 6 to 8 hours a night at minimum otherwise I tend to over do the caffiene which only hurts me in the long run. Quality sleep is important for me, it helps me regulate my mood, my energy levels, and my appetite and cravings! The worse and less sleep I get, the crankier and hungrier I tend to be
Nutrition and Hydration! I do not believe in restricting foods, I believe in healthy moderation and healthy substitution. I try to eat a decent amount of protein and fiber, while not restricting or feeling guilt on days I eat a little higher fats or carbs. Balance is key! And water is so important!! It helps my skin, my energy, my hunger signals, everything!
Skincare!! I feel so amazing after a full skincare routine. My morning routine is simple for now, but there's nothing like a good skincare routine to make me feel my best and most confident.
🩷 Miscellaneous-
regular doctor appointments! eye exams, general physician checkups, mental health appointments, dental, all of it! you'll never know what aspect of your health needs some work if you don't keep an eye on it! I look forward to all my appointments as it always gives me insight into my health that I otherwise wouldn't know.
Balance! I work full time, 5 days a week. I go to classes in person 4 days a week plus two online classes for a total of almost 18 credit hours. I'm stressing about finances, insurance, future classes, and my current grades. Therefore, I make sure to find time for the gym, for my skincare routine, for my therapy appointments, and for quality sleep. If I let any aspect of my self care and health slide, I'd be a spiraling mess, and I can't afford to do that to myself, nor do I want to. I deserve self care and rest and good days, and I always like to play an active part in having a good day for myself! Balance is key!
That's all for now, lovelies. My greatest value in my personal life in regards to myself is a high quality of life and I want to ensure I get that! I love working on my health and taking care of myself. I love keeping myself healthy and happy and functioning. We all deserve good health, happiness, and positive days!
til next time, lovelies 💗

So this might be a stupid question, but how do you know if you’re developing an eating disorder/tendencies?
honestly that’s a really good question!!!
here goes a really informative post with all research made by me:
you may have to look at some behaviors and attitudes like:
- extremely frequent dieting, and control of food becoming primary concern;
- insecure and worry with weight, calories, carbohydrates and fat grams(others too);
- refusing to eat certain foods (fear foods), and restricting against whole categories of food (like carbohydrates, dairy);
- looks uncomfortable eating around others;
- food rituals (eats only a particular food or food group, excessive chewing);
- skipping meals or taking small portions of food at regular meals;
- extreme concern with body size and shape;
-frequent checking in the mirror for perceived flaws in appearance;
- wanting to look unhealthily thin;
- wanting to fast and doing it for unhealthy periods of time (varying from days to weeks).
Now some specific Eds to separate each one! (some may have the same characteristics as others)
4N0REX1A NERVOSA:
- may dress in layers bc of insecurity;
- extreme worry with weight, food, calories, and dieting;
- some make frequent comments about feeling “fat”;
- wanting to have a body weight inappropriate for their age, height, and build;
- presence of packages of l4xatives;
- drinks extreme amounts of water or non-caloric beverages;
- maintains an excessive, heavy exercise routine.
BUL1M14 NERVOSA:
- evidence of binge eating, including disappearance of large amounts of food in short periods of time;
- also evidence of p^rging behaviors, including frequent trips to the bathroom after meals, signs and smells of vomiting;
- presence of packages of l4xatives;
- drinks extreme amounts of water or non-caloric beverages;
- does self-induced v^miting;
- dental problems, such as cavities, discoloration of teeth from vomiting, and tooth sensitivity(bc of the above);
B1NG3 EATING DI1S0RD3R (BED):
- secret recurring episodes of binge eating (eating in a discrete period of time an amount of food that is much larger than most individuals would eat);
- feels lack of control over ability to stop eating;
- feelings of disgust, d3pr3ss1on, or guilt after overeating, or feelings of low self-esteem;
- may steal food;
- evidence of binge eating, including the disappearance of large amounts of food in a short time period.
OTHERWISE SPECIFIED FEEDING OR EATING D1S0RD3R (OSFED):
Because OSFED has a wide variety of eating dis0rd3red behaviors, any or all of the following symptoms may be present in people with OSFED.
- frequent episodes of consuming very large amount of food followed by behaviors to prevent weight gain, such as self-induced vomiting or st4rv1ng (fasting);
- evidence of binge eating, including disappearance of large amounts of food in short periods of time;
- self-esteem overly related to body image;
- extreme dieting behavior (reducing the amount or types of foods consumed);
- expresses a need to “burn off” calories taken in;
- evidence of p^rging behaviors, including frequent trips to the bathroom after meals, signs or smells of vomiting;
- presence of packages of laxatives or diuretics.
AVOIDANT RESTRICTIVE FOOD INTAKE D1S0RD3R (ARFID):
-limited range of preferred foods that becomes narrower over time (like picky eating that progressively worsens);
- fears of choking or vomiting;
-may have no body image disturbance or fear of weight gain.
RUMINATION D1S0RD3R:
- repeated regurgitation of food for a period of at least one month. Regurgitated food may be re-chewed, re-swallowed, or spit out.
Other Food & Behavior Concerns:
ORTHOREXIA:
- cutting out an increasing number of food groups (all sugar, all carbs, all dairy, all meat, all animal products);
- an increase in concern about the health of ingredients;
- an inability to eat anything but a narrow group of foods that are deemed ‘healthy’ or ‘pure’;
- may have body image concerns.
C0MPULSIVE EXERCISING:
- Exercise that significantly interferes with important activities, occurs at inappropriate times or in inappropriate settings;
- intense anxiety, depression or distress if unable to exercise;
- Exercise takes place despite injury or fatigue.
This is just my research and my own and other experiences, if i missed/used wrong information please let me know! 😊
