may i request a platonic relationship with rei and ritsu as their youngest sibling who is cheerful and more energetic than the two? they still have the sakuma's illness but their youngest sibling would suddenly get bursts of energy to do some silly stuff (kinda like leo lol).

might i add, because of the unusual action of the youngest sibling, the sakuma family (aside from rei and ritsu) sees them like an alien. reader is secretly hurt and sad because of this, since theyre being treated like an outsider. though they dont particularly show it, but rei and ritsu knows and continues to stick by their side.

Another Sakuma sibling… you are so much different from your older brothers! You were talkative and always got along with everyone and even their unit mates and friends~ Lucky!

There are times where you randomly appear on either Ritsu's or Rei's practices but they don't mind, really, they want your company anyways and it's good to see you hanging out and deciding to watch them do their practice because it boosts their morale. (They want to show off in front of their sibling)

Ritsu turns you into his pillow when you decide to visit him one time saying, “I can't find Maa-kun anywhere, but you'll do. ♪” Izumi would scold Ritsu for slacking off the practice again, and… you as well. Since you appeared, Izumi would scold you for interrupting their practice and you could've just visited them when it's their break time, so Izumi told you their schedule so the next time you'll arrive is at their breaks. (Which you didn't follow)

You and Leo would be great buddies! Seriously, Izumi acts like a mother to the both of you since you two are talking about aliens and how Leo got abducted by aliens. Leo would get mad at Izumi whenever he asks you to leave, “Hey Sena! Don't make her leave!" Izumi would just sigh in disappointment because it would mean their practice will be cancelled.

Arashi will be your best friend as well! She would gladly help you out if you have troubles, or advice that you needed and if you needed someone to let out your problems and feelings whenever your brothers are busy~ (I love her sm)

Tsukasa… Well, at first, he adores you! If you like sweets, the two of you will go to various candy/cakes/sweet shops and again, you'll get scolded by Izumi alongside Tsukasa. If you're not a fan of sweets, Tsukasa completely understands it! But that doesn't change the fact that he will at least try to make you like sweets.

Now for Rei! Everytime you visit your oldest brother, he doesn't mind it when you barge into the rehearsal room, “Kukuku, how did my precious youngest sibling find me~?” He would joke about it but he is still happy you decided to visit him!

Now if you're the same age as Ritsu but maybe a year or 2 younger?? Kaoru would try to hit on you, honestly. Rei wouldn't like it and he doesn't want his youngest sibling to be tainted by Kaoru! Adonis always teaches you about some knowledge of his hometown outside Japan and if he ever got the chance, he would make you taste one of specialties! As for Koga, he's pretty surprised that someone like Rei who has a pretty mysterious personality is so different from him! He would be confused, but in the end, he would be on good terms with you. :3

There are times when you're out in the sun for too long, or tiring yourself, you would collapse. You inherited the illness as well, and Leo would get worried and will have a mental crisis trying to bring you to a shaded area as much as possible. And a few seconds later, you would be back to normal! ..just avoid staying in the sun for too long.

Due to you being pretty much different from the Sakuma's, your family members sees you as an outcast and disgrace because of how outgoing you are. You can't help but feel sad and disappointed at their words. (You would rant at Arashi about this and she feels bad for you!) But you also can't help wondering what if your older brothers think the same as them? You're worried that they're just faking their personalities to go along with yours.

Now, Rei and Ritsu don't really know the problems you're going through, but somehow when one of the Sakuma member told how “disgraceful” and “a shame to the family”, their blood boils, how can they call you with those words?! The two of them would comfort you and Ritsu would most probably hug while Rei pats your back, saying comforting words.

You don't deserve to be called like that after all, there's different types of people, they would encourage you to keep doing what you like since that's your own way and they would support you like a good brother they are!

I have finished Persona 5, and I have (spoiler warning) 10 thoughts after the break.

So for context, I played and finished Persona 5 Royal on PC. I ended up putting 95 hours into it, beating the main storyline and doing a good amount of the Mementos quests/confidant storylines, but I didn't do the third semester (more on that later). Thoughts:

What a game. I'm a pretty big JRPG guy, and this ranks up there in my top 5 of all time. Easily. Great characters, great storyline (albeit with what I thought was some filler towards the end of the game), really fun (if basic) battle system. And it's easily the most stylish JRPG I've ever played, and a lot of that has to do with the comic-style UI and god-tier soundtrack. Loved the game, loved the characters. After I finished it, I felt like I was saying goodbye to legit friends I'd come to know pretty well over the past couple of weeks.

Makoto best girl, don't @ me. Sorry Kasumi/Sumire. Makoto was the real Phantom Thief, cuz she infiltrated my palace and stole my heart. I legit awwww-ed at a couple of points in her romance. Hifumi close third place behind Makoto and Kasumi/Sumire.

I didn't do the third semester because how the fuck was I supposed to know you had to max out Maruki's confidant level just to unlock it? I went into this playthrough blind, and Maruki was always kind of sus (I kind of assumed he and Akechi he'd end up being a big bad and I guess I was half-right), but I had no idea that a whole 20+ hours of the game was locked behind his confidant level. By the time I realized it, I was already long past the date he left the school, and there was no way I was going to re-play 80+ hours just to unlock the third semester. Bah. I think it's crazy that they would lock most of the new content behind a pretty random confidant that you can easily pay zero attention to. Shame, because Kasumi/Sumire and Akechi are locked to the third semester and Kasumi/Sumire might've had a better chance of becoming best girl if, y'know, she could actually join my party permanently.

Was Haru even a character? I'm pretty sure some of the lesser non-party confidants got more screentime and background than she did. I didn't use her much either, because Makoto, Ann, and even Futaba were more interesting characters. How adorable (and relatable) is Futaba lol. When she called Mishima an NPC I legit laughed out loud. She destroyed him.

And on the topic of Okumuras, fuck you Okumura boss battle. It was the one part of the game where I had to turn the difficulty down.

WHY COULDN'T I ROMANCE SAE edit: for god's sake I could romance my homeroom teacher but not her? c'mon.

I watched a video about how the characters are much more comfortable in the Metaverse instead of the real world, and damn, it really resonated with me. This game had a lot to say about masks and social/societal pressure and hierarchy and things like that, and I found myself saying damn, that's so true more times than I could count. A large part of why I grew so attached to the characters and their struggles was because in a lot of ways, I saw myself in them.

Loved how real and accurate Tokyo (and the in-game world) was. Loved the references to popular chains, specific streets, and small things like brand names. I giggled irl at the nerds walking around in Akihabara with their bags of merch until I realized I've been those nerds a few times and then I got semi-offended, lol.

Akechi was sus from the start. I mean, was anyone actually surprised when he did the heel turn? At least he had his anime last stand, even if the team went from "you betrayed us you asshole" to "omg akechi nooooo what a noble sacrifice sadface" pretty quickly.

This was my first Persona game and the entire calendar/time cycles were really interesting. The other games have a similar system, right? Should I bother playing Persona 4 or just wait for Persona 6? Is Persona 5 Strikers any good?

Anyway, that concludes my little hiatus from Tumblr. I have a few things on the go irl so I probably won't be as active on here as I was previously, but I'll always be around, even if I'm not posting every day like I used to.

I'm going to be hopefully finishing up a couple of fics I've started, and I've come up with a few ideas for some sequels/new fics (Gaeul sequel because I'm an IVE fan now), so stay tuned.

Two Lovesick Idiots

I was inspired by this lovely art of Shepard and Kaidan drawn by the incredible @sinclairsolutions - so with their permission for running with this idea, my first fic in twenty years:

Citadel, Silversun Strip, Anderson’s apartment Two weeks before the end of the Reaper War

Tali drops it unceremoniously on the coffee table in front of them, with the air of someone who has both lost a bet and is still somehow smugly triumphant.

“Here.”

Shepard cocks his head. From his position cuddled into Kaidan’s side, the motion causes his closely-shaved scalp to tickle the underside of Kaidan’s chin.

“What?”

Leave it to Shepard to sound both irritated and intrigued at the interruption. Kaidan kisses the top of his head in amusement.

The party celebrating the demise of Shepard’s clone has been in full swing for most of the night, and it’s showing no sign of slowing down. Kaidan can hear Vega and Cortez over near the bar gleefully explaining biotiball to a surprisingly interested Javik, who’s just declared how much better the protheans would be then the current primitive teams. Kasumi is trying to teach Grunt how to play the piano, with limited success, behind the couch where Kaidan and Shepard have ensconced themselves. Kaidan can see the dance circle in the kitchen still going strong, though now absent two of its erstwhile dancers.

Both of whom are standing in front of the coffee table, Tali gesturing at what she just dropped, Garrus inscrutable as ever.

Kaidan reluctantly pushes his boyfriend—his boyfriend, heart still skipping a beat at getting to call Shepard something so intimate—off of his lap so he can lean forward to pick up what, by all appearances, seems to be a scrapbook. He dimly remembers heirlooms like this back at the orchard: binders of pictures, chintzy artwork, and scribbles commemorating the reunions or anniversaries or what-have-you of various Alenkos over the decades. None of the scrapbooks back home have the violently purple hue of this one, though. None of their titles are quite like what’s emblazoned across the front of this one, either.

Two Lovesick Idiots.

Kaidan raises an eyebrow. “Tali, what is this?”

“I, uh…okay, it was going to be a present later. After. But this one—“ she backhands Garrus in the stomach, who oofs softly “—told me I had to give it to you now.”

“Okay, but what is it?” Shepard says. “I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Kaidan nudges him with his shoulder fondly. “It’s a scrapbook.” At his precious spacer’s precious look of confusion, he continues, “It’s for memories, pictures and things. An old Earth practice.”

Shepard turns his adorably confused gaze to Tali. “But why? And how?”

The tipsy quarian groans in response. “Just open it.”

Kaidan opens the cover. On the first page is a full-sized photograph of Kaidan and Shepard sitting in a bar somewhere. Flux, maybe? He traces his finger over it absently. They look so young. The early days of the SR-1, perhaps. Kaidan’s in the foreground, staring into his drink—whiskey, by the looks of it. Shepard’s seated next to him, giving him a soft, almost secret smile. The candid shot is as sweet as it is striking.

All that time. How did I never know?

A sweet knot of nostalgia settles in his chest, and he smiles at the memory. “Tali,” he starts to murmur, “where did you…”

That’s when he reads the picture’s caption.

“What.”

Shepard gets to the caption at roughly the same time. But where Kaidan’s knot of nostalgia immediately turns into annoyance, Shepard lets out the most delighted, surprised laugh Kaidan’s heard from him in a long time.

“Tali,” Kaidan says in a measured voice, pointedly ignoring his boyfriend as he dissolves into giggles, “what the hell is this?”

“It’s a gift! A present,” Tali repeats. “Kind of.”

“Kind of?”

“Just…a lot of effort went into this,” she says bashfully. “Keep going.”

He turns the page. This one has two photos, separated by a common caption. The top one is a selfie of the late, great Ashley Williams, clearly taken with her omnitool in the SR-1’s mess. Her face is frozen in mid-cackle, while way in the background over her shoulder, Kaidan and Shepard stand near that console Kaidan was forever trying to repair. The picture on the bottom is zoomed in on them, Shepard’s hand nonchalantly resting on Kaidan’s forearm in mid-conversation. The caption reads, “Two Lovesick Idiots Flirt Badly over a Busted Console,” photo by Ashley Williams, 2183.

“Ashley? Ashley was in on this?” Kaidan asks incredulously. This sets Shepard off giggling even harder somehow.

Kaidan glances around. The rest of the party is starting to notice. Fantastic.

“It was actually Ashley’s idea,” Tali responds, tipsy mirth tempered a moment by a sort of fond sadness. “She was the first one to figure you two out, I think. She thought this would be a nice memento once you two…um, what was the phrase, Joker?”

“I believe it was, ‘Once those two get their eyes off each other’s asses and get their own asses in gear,” Joker supplies helpfully from the other couch.

Kaidan doesn’t like Joker’s shit-eating grin. Or the hot feeling of the blush that erupts over his own face. He especially doesn’t like that his boyfriend is still giggling.

Said boyfriend snorts in between giggles, “Yeah, that sounds like Ash.”

Tali looks a little unsure, shifting from foot to foot. “Are…are you mad? Is this okay?”

Kaidan’s suddenly very aware that most of the party have crowded around the couch, peering with interest at the scrapbook. Well, mostly they’re staring at their giddy commander.

When it’s just the two of them, Shepard’s learned how to let down his guard. He smiles more, laughs more. The war has taken its toll on him—him more than most, especially after everything in the last three years—but in the privacy of Shepard’s cabin, Kaidan has worked hard to give him space to just be happy.

So anything that makes him happy enough to giggle like an idiot? Around other people, no less?

He shakes his head and gives Tali his biggest grin. “It’s incredible. Thank you.”

Her posture relaxes. “Everyone helped.”

They start flipping through the pages.

“Two Lovesick Idiots Find an Excuse to Touch by Scraping Plant Goo Off Each Other,” photo by Garrus Vakarian, 2183.

“Hey, we were worried that stuff might be corrosive!” Shepard says defensively.

Kaidan chuckles. That hadn’t been…strictly true. More like, he wasn’t going to pass up any opportunity to be in Shepard’s space. Sure, his face in the photo is the picture of seriousness as he plucks a piece of tentacle off of Shepard’s chestplate, but he remembers how hard he had to concentrate not to look at Shepard’s lips instead.

“Neither of you offered to clean Thorian gunk off my armor,” Garrus grumbles.

Tali pats his arm.

“Two Lovesick Idiots Don’t Know How to Drive a Fucking Tank,” photo by Ashley Williams, 2183.

“He’s the one that can’t drive, not me,” Kaidan objects, pushing his again-giggling boyfriend away.

“It does not appear that you are attempting to stop him, Major,” EDI muses from where she’s settled next to Joker.

And indeed, Ash somehow captured a shot of the Mako’s cockpit from the back. Shepard has one fist raised in celebration, while Kaidan’s head is turned in mid yell. There’s no mistaking the fondness on his face, though.

There’s also no mistaking the fact that only sky, no ground, is visible through the Mako’s front window.

“To be fair, Liara isn’t stopping them either,” Cortez says from over Kaidan’s shoulder.

To be fair, Liara’s passed out from stress in the photo, blue face tinged slightly green as it lolls to one side in her safety harness.

Present-day Liara just sighs.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, really?” Kaidan says incredulously. “We’re commemorating that moment?”

“Eh, you two made up,” Miranda says from the other side of the room, raising her drink in a mock toast, mischievous twinkle in her eye.

Kaidan rolls his eyes.

“Eh, you two made up,” Kasumi’s voice echoes with a laugh.

Picture after picture just like that, chronicling the dance that he and Shepard have been doing around each other for the last three years. And not just pictures, Kaidan realizes.

Some of the pages have text, hard copies of omnitool message chains:

Other pages have short handwritten notes from their friends.

Adjacent to a picture of Kaidan sleeping off a migraine in the SR-1′s medbay and Shepard sleeping in a chair next to his bed, with the caption “Two Lovesick Idiots Are Bad at Sleeping,” photo taken by Karin Chakwas, 2183, a scrawl in silver pen reads: I am very glad that you two have better places to sleep than my medbay now.

Kaidan looks at Shepard. “I don’t remember this.”

Shepard ducks his head a bit, responding, “Not surprised. That one was pretty bad, you were out for a while. I just…wanted to make sure you were okay.”

“By screwing up your spinal alignment?” Traynor says, sitting next to Shepard on the couch and frowning.

Shepard huffs.

On another page, next to a picture of Shepard standing at Kaidan’s bedside in Huerta, seemingly taken through a window, with a caption reading, “Two Lovesick Idiots Have a Very Close Call,” photo taken by Thane Krios, 2186, a note in a different hand reads: It is good to see your soul tu-fira, my friend.

Shepard touches the note, sobering quickly.

Kaidan furrows his brow. “I don’t understand this one.”

Shepard puts his palm on Kaidan’s cheek, and Kaidan leans into the touch. Shepard gives him a sad smile and says, “Thane. I’ll explain later.”

The final page, though, takes the cake.

The picture’s taken from a weird angle, but it’s striking in a way that stuns Kaidan. On first glance, it’s just a picture of the doors to Starboard Observation as they’re closing. But framed in the doorway, you can see Shepard and Kaidan sitting on the couch, their backs to the door and the camera. The observation window looks out on the starry expanse, silhouetting the pair as Shepard rests his head on Kaidan’s shoulder, Kaidan’s arm around him.

The caption reads, “Two Lovesick Idiots in Love, Fucking Finally,” picture taken by Tali’Zorah vas Normandy, 2186, and for all its tongue-in-cheek snarkiness, it’s the most beautiful thing Kaidan’s seen.

He looks over at his quietly smiling boyfriend and his shining blue eyes. Maybe the second-most beautiful thing.

“Tali,” Shepard says, voice thick with emotion. He stops, swallows, and then starts again, “Everyone. Thank you. This is…unbelievable.”

“What’s more unbelievable is that the two of you finally hooked up!” Vega catcalls, and everyone cheers.

Kaidan rubs the back of his head sheepishly as everyone laughs, looking sidelong at Shepard. Shepard just laughs too and pounces, smothering Kaidan in kisses.

When they come up for air, Tali picks up the scrapbook and says, “Look, see, these rings open up so you can add more pages. You know, if you want to.”

Shepard grins. “Actually, I can think of another photo I’d like to add.”

Years later, amongst the bric-a-brac of a house at an orchard in the Canadian interior, in a row of scrapbooks commemorating the reunions or anniversaries or what-have-you of various Alenkos over the decades, one violently purple scrapbook is given pride of place. And inside, nestled between pages of pictures and printouts and handwritten notes, a specific page sits at what had at one time been the back of the book, but now precedes dozens of recorded memories.

On that page is a picture of Shepard and Kaidan, seated on a couch in an apartment on the Silversun Strip of the Citadel, looking lovingly at each other. On the couch beside them, and arrayed in rows behind them, are some of the people who loved them in that moment, too.

A quote I like:

I have been a fan since: 2021. I had been meaning to try the first game since 2017. I played for one evening, then life happened and I forgot about it. Fast forward to the 2021, when having less work and no longer having a commute made me go 'well, why not use this time to mitigate my existential dread and deaden my emotions with... oh. Okay. Nevermind that'. And then I sank... I don't know, a little under 200 hours into it? Yeah.

Favourite game of the series?: ME2. I think I like the stakes and storytelling of ME3 better (also, I think it was the first game to ever make me cry? Several times?), but ME2 is very character-focused and I just live for that.

MShep or FShep?: Well, I usually play as female characters (the one recent exception I can think of being a M!Cousland because that was the only way marry Anora. I have no regrets.) so I'm not really in a position to compare.

Earthborn, Colonist or Spacer?: Earthborn on my Paragon playthrough, colonist on the Renegon one. (I also started a spacer one but did not finish it).

Biotics or Tech: Both, but for different reasons. I like the visuals of biotics (yes, I really am that shallow), and having an enemy NPC floating helplessly in the air while you take aim is really, really convenient. That said, the 'overload' ability is extremely helpful, and I really like Tali's little drone, so tech is pretty cool too. I just usually make sure I have both in the squad (except for specific missions like the moon base in ME1).

Paragon or Renegade: Hmm, so... I'm going to say Renegon, because Renegade is very entertaining at times, and absolutely awful at other times (particularly in ME3). But my first Shepard was a bleeding heart Paragon. She was just so nice.

Favourite Class: Anything that lets me experience the story without dying too many times (and I play on casual so that's really all of them). That said, I find myself rather partial to the Vanguard's charge ability. It's not necessarily the *most* useful, but it's just too satisfying not to use.

Favourite Companion: Hmm. Well, I love EDI's dry humour and the fact that she becomes more human over time, so I'll just go with EDI...But honestly, it is a tough choice, especially when old grump Javik is right there, and Tali melts my heart, and Liara's arc is so good, and Wrex is too funny but also pretty tragic, and... see what I mean?

Least favourite Companion: Jacob. The thing with Jacob is, I don't even dislike him, I just think his writing is... how do I put it? Not bad, per se, but it doesn't quite pull me me in. He's pretty much the only companion who remained 'a coworker' on all my playthroughs. Other were either 'best pals' (Tali, Garrus, Wrex), great romances (Liara, Garrus, Thane), or downright antagonistic at times but in a way that felt natural and brought something to the story (Miranda and Jack come to mind).

My squad selection: I don't have a fixed one.

Favourite In-game romance: Garrus

Other pairings I like: Miranda/Jack, Javik/Liara, Tali/Garrus, Nyreen/Aria

Favourite NPC: Matriarch Aethyta

Favourite Antagonist: Saren

Favourite Mission: Virmire

Favourite Loyalty Mission: Tali/'Treason'

Favourite DLC: I haven't played them all (I haven't bought the Legendary Edition so they were separate purchases. This means I have never recruited Kasumi or played Lair of the Shadow Broker, any knowledge I have of them comes from the fandom + a couple of videos), but I really enjoyed the Omega DLC.

Control, Synthesis or Destroy: Oh man... I mean... I feel like Control comes with fewer moral downsides in the short term? Organics remain organics, so no consent issues there, and the Geth and EDI get to survive... the only real downside is that Shepard is gone. But in the long term? Who's to say they're not the new big bad? It's the one I went with on my 'Renegade' playthrough and her monologue was pretty chilling. Also, there's a degree of sadness in her being 'still there but gone'. What does the grieving process look like for Liara (or whoever else was romanced)? For Shepard themself? Isn't it lonely up there? I don't know, there are just so many questions. That said I went with 'Destroy' (and high EMS) on my first run because I looked up a wiki as I played and I wanted Shepard to survive. Let her and Garrus adopt baby Krogans.

Favourite Weapon: Ermm. I'm not good with names (or details in general for that matter 😂) but that big Prothean rifle you find in ME2? Yeah. That one.

Favourite Place: Ilium. Again, I am shallow. Though I initially mistyped that as Ilos (again, I am bad with names) and you know what? I love Ilos too, but more for the feels than its aesthetic. Also Liara's reactions. And the music when you get to Vigil.

A quote I like: "You did good, child. You did good. I'm proud of you." Man, the delivery got me right in the feels.

Mass Effect 2 replay, part 1 of the Citadel:

-As others have noted, it’s odd Shepard is even allowed to dock a Cerberus ship. Let’s put that down as Anderson’s influence.

-Even Kasumi is insisting this must be the real Shepard. She can tell by Shepard’s presence.

The game is really pushing that Shepard is real; was this in the original script or did play testers assume Shepard would turn out to be a clone or the like and these scattered insistences about Shepard were attempts at damage control?

-Femshep’s voice acting at the start of ME2 is much weaker than it was in ME1. I always notice this. It gets better at some point, but the difference between the end of ME1 and the start of ME2 is jarring.

-Paraphrased:

C-Sec guard: sorry, but I can’t let you a board a shuttle with that

Turian: But this is a ceremonial item of my people!

C-Sec guard; Sir, it’s a 15 centimeter serrated blade.

That probably is a ceremonial item for turians. Which is still regularly used as a weapon.

-Increased security, and C-Sec still lets the dead in. Because no one’s ever tried to pass themself off as a dead person before.

-I’m not fond of Bailey. Odd because I love Garrus and they’re both corrupt cops, but Bailey feels higher on the sleaze factor.

Maybe it’s because Garrus is introduced investigating Saren and saving Dr. Michel and Bailey is introduced encouraging fellow cops to beat up prisoners.

Pretty sure Executor Pallin wouldn’t approve of Bailey.

-And here is Bailey also insisting that Shepard is real. Because the DNA scanners say so. Because cloning hasn’t been established to be real in Mass Effect.

Did the writers just forget about Dr. Saleon? And how he cloned organs inside of living people?

All this insistence that Shepard is real just feels very out of place when nothing comes of it. I’d have preferred if the game just glossed over it completely, instead of reassurances with no weight behind them.

-And Bailey has zero concern about Shepard because they’re hero. And as we know, heroes are above suspicion and never need to be investigated.

Let’s just ignore Saren, who was one of the council’s most trusted agents and recently tried to murder them.

Was Bailey seriously the only choice available for captain?

-Hmm. Renegade Shepard complains that the Council made no effort to confirm their death.

Shepard, you were spaced. Assuming you were dead is reasonable. One of the few points the game is consistent on is that you were, for all practical, purposes dead when Cerberus got their hands on you. There’s a reason the project was called the Lazarus project.

-Bailey, paraphrased: I’m with them [formalities] until they keep people from doing their jobs.

Bailey, formalities normally exist for good reasons. Like, for example, ensuring that cops don’t torture people. Or to verify that a person who comes back from the “dead” is really that person.

-And he calls the Council “scaly asses”. Let’s just add racism to the bingo board.

-Bailey, paraphrased: Policing a ward is like policing New York City. Sometimes you have to work outside the Council’s rulebook.

Did the writers not know the reputation of New York City police? Or the police in most major cities, for that matter?

It’s not hard to understand why a turian politician later runs on an anti-human platform in the Zakera ward. Bailey, and by extension his force, is not a shining example of humanity.

-Zakera ward is the minority ward. The other wards are dominated by asari, turians, and salarians. Interesting. Good justification for the all the humans seen in it and why Shepard docked there.

-There are human captains in C-Sec because of the Battle of the Citadel.

Bailey, paraphrased: We had the most experienced bodies.

Humans have been in the galactic community for less than 30 years, but they have the most experienced C-Sec personnel to promote? Really?

Not the asari that live a millennia, the turians who created C-Sec, the salarians that have been here near the start, or the hanar or volus that have been around for much longer than humanity?

That humans were promoted after the officers lost in the Battle of the Citadel and their role in stopping Saren, I can believe. That they were promoted because they were the most experienced I doubt.

-The transient dialogue on the Citadel is a joy. ME2’s and ME3’s writing tends to shine in these kind of conversations.

Love the krogans debating if there are fish on the presidium, and how they should kill turians for believing that all krogans are dangerous.

And the turian refusing to have the lifespan talk with his asari partner.

-The Zakara Cafe turian shopkeeper knows about Ardat-Yakshi. They’re not as much of a secret as the asari like to believable – and that’s to be expected, considering the asari have been part of a multi species society for over a millennia. You’re not going to keep something like that a secret for that long.

-I enjoy the News Reports by Emily Wong and the Galactic News, and I’m happy I can now cycle through all of them. No more RNG based on elevator rides.

However, I wish I could either read them or listen to them as I move. Needing to stay nearby as they play is annoying.

-The Galactic News mentions Toombs, the Cerberus scientist that he wanted to kill, and that Cerberus may have been involved in killing Admiral Kohaku. Good to see this at least mentioned, after all off Cerberus’ activities in ME1 have been downplayed so far.

-The Galactic News says that the combai VI on Luna was not intentionally upgraded to full AI status, so the Alliance will not likely be prosecuted. Interesting – Hackett insisted in ME1 that it was just a VI. When was it determined that it was a full AI?

-The Galactic News says that Kate Bowman – rescued in Bring Down the Sky – will read a thank you for the Alliance soldiers who rescued her.

No mention that it was Shepard who rescued her? And interesting that it specifies Alliance soldiers, when Shepard is a spectre.

-Rachni vessels have been spotted. Where did these go in ME3?

I suppose they could be the ships the rachni used to get to the Crucible, but the Breeder gets there too and couldn’t have built the ships mentioned here.

-Interesting how ads list key words to find a website by, rather than provide a URL

-I want to see the awful movie made about the Battle of the Citadel.

-Avina says the only shop on the dock level is the souvenir shop. So much for Zakera Cafe, which has the high quality ingredients you need for a side quest.

-The Council might not like Udina, but they prefer him to Anderson. Not surprising – Udina understands how to play the game.

-Anderson says there’s no evidence for the Reapers outside of Shepard’s reports. Good to see someone acknowledge eyewitness reports aren’t the most reliable evidence.

-If you go paragon, Sparatus points out that the Terminus systems are beyond the Council’s authority and humanity colonizes it at their own risk.

Again: When did humanity start colonizing the Terminus systems?

I’m just going to assume this started after Shepard died.

Regardless, Sparatus is right here. And this is consistent with ME1 – the Council wants nothing to do with the Terminus Systems.

-Shepard says the geth would never have followed Saren, since Saren is organic.

I’m not certain about that. The geth don’t do emotions the way other species do; they may follow an organic if they believe it to be logical. They’re just extremely skeptical that it would ever be in their interests to do so.

However, this is a reasonable assumption for Shepard to make at this point.

-Tevos: You are working with Cerberus – an avowed enemy of the Council. This treason, a capitol offense.

She’s not wrong. The Council offering to reinstate Shepard as a spectre is quite an olive branch, considering – and one made by Sparatus. Usually it would be Tevos offering such a compromise.

-Anderson is very quick to defend Shepard. He’s definitely the reason why the Normandy could even dock.

-Everyone’s very blunt that the title is just ceremonial, however. No need for Shepard to even bother filing reports. Ah, well. Still get the privileges of the title.

-Udina’s right that Shepard is a political nightmare, especially if Shepard went renegade in the conversation with the Council.

The first human spectre working for a human supremacist group cannot be good for pr.

-From what Anderson says, Udina is doing the real work. Probably why the Council wants to work with him. Udina knows who to speak to to get things done, Udina’s attending the various functions…

-The Citadel is still dependent on the keepers for rebuilding. Please tell me someone is now officially researching them, at least.

-Sovereign’s wreckage is everywhere, and you just know people made off with as much of it as they could.

No wonder Cerberus was able to make a coup attempt in ME3. There must be so many indoctrinated people on the Citadel by that point, and destabilizing the central government is part of the Reaper’s modus operandi.

-And when asked about Kaidan, Anderson says that while Shepard is with Cerberus they can’t be told everything.

And warns Shepard not to trust Cerberus when the conversation ends.

After the Cerberus apologism through the first part of the game, hearing them treated with suspicion on the Citadel is a huge relief.

-Hmm. On a surface level, the Council does appear to not believe in the Reapers at this point.

And I’m not certain they do – the Reapers are quite a lot to swallow without hard evidence.

However, I do think it’s reasonable to take away from the meeting that the Council was stonewalling Shepard due to their Cerberus connections. They were never going to trust Shepard with anything they considered important while they were with Cerberus.

The Council very reasonably could be preparing for a war and not disclose any of that to Shepard. After all – the geth came from the Perseus Veil. If they really believe the geth created Sovereign, what’s to say there aren’t more Sovereigns beyond the Veil?

They could be quietly moving to get on war footing to prepare to go to war with the geth. I find it very odd that there are no mentions of the Veil – no mentions if ships have been coming or going from it, no mentions of sending in a survey team to confirm if there are more geth there. You expect me to believe that after the geth attacked the Citadel the STG did not scramble to gather every scrap of information possible on the geth?

And as we confirm in this game, there are a shitton of geth behind the veil. If they were hostile and capable of creating Sovereigns, C-Space would be fucked. Assuming the STG confirmed their existence, the Council is probably preparing to take them on.

From their perspective, the human colonies in the Terminus systems aren’t their problem. That’s out of their jurisdiction. If Shepard wants to pursue them, fine – it gets them out of C-Space. If Shepard saves them while being a spectre, even better; good publicity for the Council.

So if Shepard’s reinstated as a spectre, I think the conversation with the Council went about as well as it could at this point. Both sides are annoyed at each other for ignoring the real issue at hand, and want the other out of their hair while they focus on the important problems.

Anyways. I call this Rediscovery Of a Hoard.

Its kinda long!

Izuku Gasps awake. He slips into the kitchen for water and something with protein. He didn't know exactly why.

The recent encounter with Kasumi had left his Sensei and Kaminari shaken. And honestly. He was too. He hated Familiarity, and he hated the Implications.

He grabs some of the dinner's leftovers and silently watches it warm up.

He decides he needs a Familiar voice, he rings up his mother as he slid down by the Refrigerator.

"Hey mom"

"hey honey. What's up? You don't call this late usually."

"Events. Mom. Did I ever.... Seems weird to you as a Kid. Any weird behavior?"

"Well.... There were some, but they kinda passed after you were four."

"Can I know?"

"Of Course! You always loved warmth. And you sat way too close to the fireplace of my mother's. Scared me to death. Oh and your little Jewelry piles! Oh how you kept them so shiny, if you could keep it. You kept it."

"Mmm."

"Oh how Hisashi called you his little Dragonlet. Before he went missing he would hold you to his chest as you held his Fingers, what large hands he had compared to your tiny body.... He loved you so much"

Izuku hums. Dreading the answers

"Mom.... When did I stop?"

"Oh. Just before Katsuki got his Quirk. Why?"

"Research. Can't tell you yet. But thank you so much."

"Anything for you Izu. Get some sleep now"

So much for Sleep now. His heart pounds as he considers, it wasn't a Stretch unlike before.

His sight blurs as he hugs his knees.

He knew the Theories of Quirks affecting personality. For Nedzu's Sake! He Researched that himself! He hoarded Things. He knows that he was missing something, but it felt so much more literal.

"I had one. I had a Dragon Quirk. I felt it in Kasumi. I knew what she was going to do."

He paces. A strange itch to his neck and a pain in his bones edge his sleepy consciousness. The dull ache waking his mind more and more.

"I knew. And I was late" he growls. He grabs his phone and his jacket, needing fresh air.

Stepping out, he tries to calm his pounding heart and foggy mind.

Scratching his neck he sets off into a run under the moonlight. The pace of his feet sparking and flowing.

Missing, Null, Worthless, Quirkless. Words echo in his brain and tears flow as he goes faster.

He knows his eyes light up, he reaches that desperate ache of surpassing his limits. Black and green lightning arcing around his body like a warm embrace. One he clings to desperately.

Then he trips. He quickly rolls into a Tumble and lays on the ground. A sob escapes him, the itch worse and worse as he stares at the star filled sky.

Then the absolutely worst person to come at that time leans over him.

"What the fuck is going on Deku"

Great. Katsuki Bakugo.

"Go away"

"No"

Izuku stares and huffs, the itch getting worse. "Look. Bakugo-" a Flinch. Weird "- I am not okay and I just need you to leave me alone"

"No. Tell what the fuck is with you."

Izuku glares, a Perfect Mimicry of His Father. The lights casting his face in darkness.

"Oh I don't know. Maybe it's the fact that I know what it's like to be Quirkless and I can't fucking say a word to one of my Friends! The fact that I POSSIBLY HAD A QUIRK AND IT WAS USED TO MAKE A NOMU. AND SHE TOOK KAMINARIS QUIRK!? AND ACCIDENTALLY GAVE IT TO LOUD CLOUD?!" AND I PHYSICALLY FELT IT. LIKE A FUCKIN' PHANTOM LIMB.

Izuku flares his hands as he stands up. It felt good getting his anger out, especially to his main tormentor. The ache in his bones slipped away.

"Or the fact I knew in an instinctive way. That she was grabbing. That she was going to Hoard it. That I could've had that and done that to someone."

Katsuki looks pale as a white rose Izuku notes. "I-"

"don't" Izuku warns, his voice low. That damned itch coming back. Word poison on his tongue as he steps forward

"Goddamnit Deku, get your head out of your ass and suck it up" Katsuki snips and immediately Izuku sees his hands flex and spark. Unwanted memories scratching his mind.

Izuku's face darkens. The morning fog licks their feet, maybe that's what should have tipped him off.

Izuku just screams "go away!" And his back explodes. Whips of Green and Black Energy tearing at the air as he screams in both anger, Pain and everything else. The ache in his bones exploding as the whips lash. Izuku's eyes widen, his hands shake as he tries to keep them from hurting his Childhood friend/Bully.

At one point Izuku screams and for a Split second… Katsuki was Afraid of him.

The way the Whips formed into a tangled Mimicry of a Dragons wings and the whips that flow out of his childhood friend's mouth like Dragons Breath.

suddenly Izuku can't see, cold water droplets soothing his sore eyes and itchy throat. And Katsuki runs from the terror that he saw in Izuku.

A gentle calloused hand grabs his own. He knew those hands. "Cloud Sensei. It hurts. Help me it hurts" Izuku begs. Cold clouds gather on his back, as Shirokumo slowly guides him in a silent breath exercise. Izuku practically collapsed against Shirokumo, tears dripping into his shirt.

Izuku would later ask how Shirokumo knew what he needed at that time.

A sad look passes over his Sensei, like a wound that couldn't heal.

"I was once in a similar spot-" a small smile. Storm clouds lick his face. Bringing up memories and a popular theory to Izuku's mind. "-May have ended up with a Quirk Awakening as well and I would have loved someone giving me a silent hand of help instead of me getting so bad….." Shirokumo trails off. And all Izuku could do was watch as he walked away. He silently wonders what layers are yet to be seen of his teacher and his cloudy past.

goodbye persona 5 royal. after 121 hours (140 on my switch profile) i got 69% of thieves den achievements, 99% in the compendium, and took 910 switch screenshots (third sem having a recording block really cucked me fr.) I think I did as much as i possibly could. despite my gripes this was my most fulfilling playthrough i've ever done of P5. i have a lot of bad things to say about royal but i really did have so much fun with it. getting excited over the new moves with the grappling hook (guessing where the cutscene would be and having fun being technical with chains de hook), making more strategic personas with fusion alarms, using all that extra time p5r gives as efficiently as possible. I loved maruki's confidant even if it ended in a kind of mediocre palace. he's just a fun guy who's so naturally inserted into the story it feels like he Should've always been there (except for the end). though its a shame because of how his confidant is structured in terms of topics, you cant easily insert it into p5 (its basically just a huge foreshadowing/ general set-up for the themes of 3rd sem). akechi's though... akechi's confidant and the addition of kichioji was WONDERFUL and i'd have killed for it in vanilla. im so glad for it. its such a fun place to explore and i love all the new npcs; penguin sniper was fun to play (though i hate playing with akechi, esp because its useless to) and jazzjin's gameplay elements were REAL FUN TO MAKE BUSTED ASS TEAMMATES WITH. no more what-ifs is also... a good song. i think i might even add it to my personal faves playlist. i'll have to sit down and listen to the ost when i don't have a headache. anyway there's probably a lot more good things i can say, but my head is kind of muddled rn lol. that post-game feeling fr.

ahh, but even when it comes down to the bad, like kasumi-- groaning every time she came on screen was fun in its own way too; whether it was laughing at the hilarity of it or coming to tumblr and grumbling about it with whoever was following along with my posts that day. honestly i just wish they tried a little harder with her and we got to know *sumire* instead of kasumi a little more. reading the interview where the devs admitted to her just being a marketing ploy and how they treated her as such really is crushing. its kind of a reflection of royal as a whole in a way to me. care *was* put in; i can see the heart behind a lot of this, but it's more focused on being flashy and appealing to those who missed the first wave of p5dom; or trying to draw back in those who have already played. which... is the point of a video game definitive edition, but kind of ironic when presented against the morals p5 seems to stand for. (or tries to, anyway. corporate meddling and cultural norms... this is still a video game that needs to sell.) i know i shouldn't treat silly anime game #685 that lets you date a maid-teacher as an 'art form' but i always felt p5 had a pretty solid and profound message. so to see royal trample p5 vanilla and then dance around wearing its skin is... certainly something. i know they're technically the same game, so royal has those messages too, but they get all tied up in the new stuff that royal brings forth (and doesn't deliver on. lmao. lol) on top of the already shaky at times writing p5 came with. i guess what im just trying to say is that royal's content is good... but it's being too much. and that just makes me really, really sad. despite all that, royal still kind of rekindled my love for p5 that was already present. every new playthrough for me lets me look deeper into what i like or neat details i missed; seriously i always find something new when i come back to this game. but this was especially true in royal. i found myself noticing when the tiniest detail was changed and it was always fun to compare them, even if it devolved into a tangent. i really only am disappointed like this just because I love persona 5 as a whole *so much*. its everything to me, so i want it to be the best it can be, yknow? anyway, thanks persona 5 royal. you've been a journey in multiple ways. try as i might, i won't forget you.

Hello, do you truly agree that they're (Ranma, Inuyasha, Akane and Kagome are) the victims of Rumiko Takahashi's bad writing? I truly do.

Ok I am literally so mad because I was writing a full analysis with images of the manga and then Tumblr glitched and I lost 2 hours of work. So I will keep it simple:

I don't agree.

First Ranma:

This boy is rude, arrogant and even an asshole sometimes. The anime softens him up because he is way ruder to Akane verbally in the manga because he was raised by Genma Saotome, one of the worst dads ever and it makes sense that he is like that because he didn't know any better. He is full of himself but that is also a flaw since he thinks his strength and good looks are the only things that make his worth.

He actually begins to be more open and change because of Akane, no matter how many fianceés he has, who make more problems than good for him. He only sees Akane as his true love.

Does he act like a child who likes a girl and is rude to her? Yes, because he isn't good at being honest about his feelings thanks to the person who raised him, but he begins to slowly change in the manga.

It says in the manga that he will get married to Akane when he fixes his problems, and that is realistic.

He is not a completely good person but he is a flawed human in a martial arts gag manga who is quite realistic comparing its genre.

Akane:

Akane was often treated as a boy because she liked martial arts. A upperclasman dared to all the boys in her school to fight her so they could gain the right to date her. Fighting everyday in the mornings for her freedom.

Also her father comitted her to marry a boy who she doesn't know.

I can see why she says that she doesn't like men.

Being the only decent one Doctor Tofu and she fell in love with him, but we know that he is in love with her sister.

Her mother died when she was super young so she doesn't have a proper mother figure. Kasumi can be one but Akane must not want to make it more difficult for her sister who already does more in her house since her mother absence and when she tries to help it always goes wrong.

She can't cook, she is insecure thanks to Ranma and his fianceés (both in romantic and in her martial arts)

She has to get used to Ranma who is quite rude and always fights with him.

But even with all that, she shines because of her kindness and reassurance. She always helps Ranma and is the most open of the two in showing her feelings.

She doesn't manipulate him and she loves him with all his flaws, she isn't perfect and that's understandable because she is in high school.

People change and grow. Having so much chaos in her life and she still tries to help and protect the people she loves, even with her life at cost.

She is a flawed but good character.

Inuyasha:

Inuyasha didn't trust anyone after being faced with racism and discrimination of being a half-breed on both sides. He began to trust one person and "that person attacked him".

With that background is understandable why he is rude and hurtful at first with Kagome, humans hated him and attacked him.

Kagome is the one that shows him true kindness as we have seen in the manga. The level of their trust is amazing since he doesn't antagonize her as he did with kikyo when she attacks him.

One of his flaws is not talking with Kagome about the grief and culpability he feels about Kikyo. He feels guilty about his grief, confusing his feelings towards her and hurting Kagome.

Another one is his jealousness but is understandable since the one guy who actually makes him super protective about her abducted her once and claimed to be his against her will.

He isn't perfect but he tries to be better.

Kagome:

Her kindness and bravery is a things to be told. Did she asked to be the reincarnation of Kikyo? Nop but she still followed her mission to gain all the shards of the Shikon no Tama, trust a person who was rude to her and compare her with her past life.

She is the first to defend the weakest ones and stop Inuyasha from doing something terrible or stupid with the collar.

She is a strong girl that doesn't let Inuyasha get the best of her and fights back. When she acts irrationally she is the first one to see her errors and tries to be better.

Her only flaw is her jealousness and that is Inuyasha's fault for not trusting her and going the first times in secret to meet Kikyo when Kikyo tried to stray up kill her once and to take Inuyasha with her, not caring about anything else.

She has the right to be insecure and even if Inuyasha tells her later about his talks with Kikyo she still distrusts him a bit.

She is a girl that does her best in school and in fighting demons in the Sengoku.

She has flaws, common of a high school girl and that makes her more appealing.

ANN TAKAMAKI - MY GIRL OF ALL TIME. what can i say, i love myself a silly blonde girl. i think my favorite thing about ann is how she’s portrayed as both strong and emotional - she is consistently shown to be resilient, capable, and tough, but she also deals with her emotions in the same way that a teenage girl in her position would. it makes me happy to see that bc not a lot of characters get that right and i hate seeing emotional girls always being the pathetic ones. also i know she’s not canonically sapphic but she does feel very deliberately sapphic to me if that makes sense. having it be canon would be nice, but in a way, the fact that her and shiho have a very sapphic relationship without it being called that reflects what being young and confused about sexuality is like. it’s very common among teenage lesbians, and i know it probably wasn’t the devs’ intention to accurately portray sexuality confusion, but they did a good job of it on accident regardless. anyways i love and adore ann i am hugging her hugging her hugging her and pressing her lips to shiho's as if they're barbies

2. haru okumura - OKAY LOOK. LOOK. i know she hasn't shown up... i know she hasn't said anything besides that one time i saw her in the hallway and she talked about plants to a random teacher for 10 seconds... I KNOW BUT BUT SHE'S SO SKRUNKLY LOOK AT HER. she is so soft looking so silly looking i want to hug her so much. i am reserving this second place spot for her, if it turns out i don't like her as much as i thought then that's fine but nobody knows Girl Of All Time Vibes better than me and she has them

3. yusuke kitagawa - YUSUKE MY BEST FRIEND YUSUKE. I LOVE AND ADORE HIM SOSOSOSOSOSO MUCH... i honestly didn't expect to like yusuke when he first showed up but as soon as he spoke i was like. oh. Oh This Guy. LIKE HE'S SO SILLY he makes me giggle with how he's just so like. WEIRD. but i genuinely don't see how people find him creepy - the fact that he doesn't have any harmful intentions is very clear and he's just a guy who fumbles every social interaction he's ever in and i want to be his best friend for it I LOVE HIM.

4. ryuji sakamoto - I LOVE RYUJI HE'S SUCH A GUY TO ME i love him being best friends with ann and i love his stupid comments he is so funny fr

5. morgana - EVERYONE'S SO MEAN TO MY SILLY KITTY GUY... usually mascot characters like him are super annoying but i fuckin LOVE morgana he's so funny and adorable. i wanna cuddle him THE KITTY EVER

7. akira kurusu - he's a Guy. i like him as a protag, he has dialogue options that don't make me wanna rip my hair out and he had the emotional intelligence to comfort ann without making me want to be like "YOU'RE FUMBLING THIS FR SHUT UP STOP TALKING LET ME TALK TO HER" so i like him. however he's just a guy that exists to me

8. futaba sakura - she's cute! but being a woman in stem is like. every girl i know irl is Like That so she doesn't feel very blorbo to me when she's just An Average Girl In My Comp Sci Class, yk? i might be more interested in her when i actually come across her tho

10. makoto niijima - SORRY SORRYSORRYSORRY SORRY. i know this is anti-feminist of me and considering she's so well-liked i am sure i will change my mind on this based on later stuff in the game. but MAN. her attitude is absolutely rancid in the pre-second palace scenes........ LIKE i'm not even mad at her for selling out the phantom thieves bc i get that she's been blackmailed but she said something to akira about how she "didn't know if ann being a victim of kamoshida was all there was to it" naming ANN SPECIFICALLY and not akira or ryuji and like. icons are rly fun honestly! i think they have the ability to add a lot of personality to a scene, and sometimes can assist in establishing context or helping to emphasize tone. THAT all said, i don’t find them necessary at all—i’m primarily here to read threads, so icons or no icons, the writing is where my focus remains and my interests lie!! i don’t bypass blogs just bc they go icon-less, in fact its oftentimes the opposite? i love seeing how ppl can use their words alone to paint the entire picture. whichever way someone chooses to express their muse is valid tbh, do what feels comfortable!

#18. fanon interpretations

throw a stone and hit any of my muses, and it's apparent how over-the-top and carried away i get from canon lmao... pkmn is the perf franchise for it too; not only are the settings vast and the thematic concepts plentiful, but there is often a lot of negative space to fill on these muses’ canvases (this seems esp true for most canon characters in the earlier games). i aim for my interpretations to feel realistic (to some degree) so i do keep in mind the little canon i am given... but that’s still more for reference, and not something i strictly abide by. its thrilling how ppl have fun w their muses’ exploits and interpersonal relationships, i’m so here for how muns deviate from canon in order to conceptualize something entirely new.

jasmine, jasmine... i will never forget witnessing her for the first time ;; it was after school, while watching my friend nick play gold before a crowd of like 12 of us (he was that kid that always had new games right when they came out lol his family had it made like that). he was just reaching the jasmine gym battle by the time i walked up. as you can imagine, being an elementary schooler i was not using the internet as it was back then much at all, so leaks etc were not accessible to me (what few leaks existed at the time, that is); same was true for p much everyone else in my grade, so none of us had any idea about the slayage we were in for. we all saw the two magnemite and kinda brushed them off like “lmao that’s cute”, the disappointment was kinda real ngl 💀 but that disappointment didn’t last long whatsoever, bc the second she sent steelix out... the collective gasps in that lunchroom, lemme tell you! it was quite possibly the greatest thing any of us had ever seen in our lives up to that point, so serious when i say lives were changed that day ;;

so then when i finally received the game a couple months later, i was so excited to get to her gym and battle her for myself. i fell more in love going thru the amphy plotline, and the rest was history as they’d say. she was (and still is) a v overlooked character, but writing her is tons of fun c: (as is seeing her get some exposure from pokemas!) srry this was long-winded as HELL-

for the pkmn fandom, my first ever muse was (surprise) misty! this was back on lj, in a community that prob died out in 06 lmao. she was a lot of fun to explore, and became the perf gateway muse before i decided to try exploring diff personalities within the pkmn universe. ive written her since several times, and she’s grown into a more developed muse of mine following that first incarnation for sure. always will have a soft spot in my heart for miss kasumi ♡

I watched more of the matches, so far, Kirishima, Sato, Denki and Mina have failed. Right now, I was rushing to the teachers lounge to check in on Pops. Koda summoned bugs with his quirk to attack Pops and I could feel my skin crawling just watching. Unpleasant thoughts of the foster center circling in my brain.

Hitoshi was right by my side as we made haste to get to the room, upon opening we found Pops curled into Dads chest shaking.

I didn't know Pops had a fear of bugs.

Not just a fear, a phobia. I have it too.

Oh?

Kasumi, back at the center, was kinda really fucked. She would put bugs on our necks and down our shirts and if we shook them off or smacked them, then she would beat us. It would always make me scream so she would put the muzzle on me, probably did the same to Pops. It was worse for the kids who were afraid of bugs to begin with, then she would purposefully do it. For me it was once a week, probably the same for Pops too.

Shit.

Toshi signed at my mini trauma dump explanation. Dad watched us closely as we approached, clearly not wanting to overwhelm Pops any more.

"Hey Pops?" He sniffled and turned a bit. "Can I give you a hug too?" He nodded with a sad smile. I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly, knowing the pressure always helped me. "It's okay." My voice came out muffled. "She can't do it anymore, she's in jail now." He hugged me a little tighter, Hitoshi joined in and we had a family hug going on.

"I love you all, so so much." Pops said quietly to us. We all returned the sentiment, glad that he calmed down even a little bit.

"Zashi? Are you okay? I don't think I've ever really seen you react like that." Auntie Nem stated as she walked over.

"Foster stuff." I mumbled to her, not knowing how much my honorary uncles were allowed to know. She hummed and nodded, placating him further with comforting back rubs.

We stayed in the teachers lounge until it was Hitoshi and Sero against Auntie Nem. Unfortunately, she got the drop on the two and put Sero to sleep. I watched with my parents as Hitoshi managed to evade her until he was out of her sights, but unfortunately, she was guarding the exit.

Hitoshi waited in silence for twenty minutes, five minutes remaining on the clock. I bounced my leg nervously, hoping that his plan would work.

"The exam has ended, Shinsou Hitoshi and Sero Hanta have ran out of time resulting in failure. Please exit the battle ground to discuss results." Hitoshi used his voice modifier to sound like Principal Nedzu.

"Interesting." And just like that, Auntie Nem was under his control.

Hitoshi ran over whilst holding his breath and placed the cuffs on her before backing out of the cloud of purple pink fumes. He breathed heavily a few times before the announcement came through that they won.

"Good luck." Pops told me as I left to meet Midoriya and Bakugou at the arena entrance.

The blond scoffed at the sight of us, ready to try and win this on his own. A horn blared and the door opened.

"Team Midoriya, Bakugou and Tsukare. Practical exam. Ready, go!" A faux voice came from the speaker, Bakugou stomped off before we could say a thing, making his way through the fake city streets.

"I have to talk to him, we're a team, we should be discussing this." I looked at Midoriya as he spoke, the pair of us a decent amount behind the angry blond.

"I gave it a shot earlier, trying to make him listen will only piss him off more." I mumbled to him. I sighed as he jogged up to Bakugou. I stayed behind until the blond hit Midoriya in the head with one of his gauntlets.

"I don't wanna hear another word." Bakugou strained out, a growl emanating from him when I stormed up. He went to throw a right hook but I caught his fist.

"Too bad." He groaned in pain and tried to shake my grip. "You don't scare me. You have no power over me unless it's physical. You wanna win? Pull on your big boy pants and act like it." I shoved him back.

"Kacchan can we just talk this through?"

"I told you we don't need your dumb power to pass! I'm gonna win it all by myself!" Bakugou screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Could you stop yelling?!? This is why we never have real conversations!" Midoriya yelled in turn.

"Both of you shut the hell up for two seconds!" The two looked at me in shock, never having snapped on my best friend before. "Midoriya, you yelling back is pointless. Bakugou, this is a test of cooperation as well. You wanna beat All Might? Go right ahead, but part of our test is you working with us and vice versa. All Might is at the end of this road, right in front of the entrance. He's.. throwing a punch? To the air? Run." The two looked forward to see rubble and debris hurling towards us but I was already running over towards a building. I didn't make it in time, dozens of pebbles hitting me in rapid succession as I got blown back with the two.

"Who really cares if I destroy this city?" All Might asked, owning up to the role of the villain for our test. I looked to Midoriya and shared a quick but silent conversation with him, using the remaining cover of debris to get behind a building. The adrenaline coursing through my veins being the only thing keeping me coherent enough to fight. All Might stomped on the ground, clearing the cover I just used. "If you think of this as an exam and not a real fight, you'll be sorry. I'm a villain now, heroes. Remember that. You better come at me with everything you've got. I won't pull my punches!" I tried to steady my breathing as I watched from the small alleyway. Midoriya went to run but Bakugou still insisted on fighting head on.

"Over here." I used my quirk on its highest strength as All Might started closing in on the blond. He turned his head and went off course, not having time to shield his eyes from a Stun Grenade. Bakugou lunged, talking about giving all he got, but All Might grabbed him by the face, holding him mid air. I shirked back into the wall when I realized the lengths he'll go. Bakugou let off a rapid fire of explosions to the 'villains' face until he was slammed into the ground harshly.

"Where are you going?" All Might asked as he zoomed away.

"Midoriya run, he's behind you." I made sure it was on a non painful level for my friend, and thankfully he listened, finally running but All Might was too fast.

"Don't think I've forgotten about you Young Midoriya, or Young Tsukare. Are you really going to leave your teammate and run away?"

"Shut your mouth." All Might winced and I felt slightly relieved knowing I had some sort of impact on him.

"Run!" Midoriya screamed and I knew it was directed to me. I scaled the fire escape and ran across rooftops, jumping across the ones I needed to but I still stayed as low as I could.

Until All Might appeared in front of me. He grabbed my arm and jumped off the roof, surely planning to crush me into the ground like Bakugou. I clung onto his arm like a koala, making the only thing directly hit my arm.

A sickening crunch sounded around me and a horrible and familiar pain followed. However it was my left arm, not my right. I sent a kick as hard as I could and hit him in the nuts, the hero keeling over and grimacing. I took my chance to run behind and between buildings again. I caught my breath and moved to set my arm as best as I could with the makeshift kit for one in my belt. It was painful and half assed, but it would do for now. I peered around a corner and saw we were half way to the gate. Midoriya was pinned under a metal rail and Bakugou was struggling to stand after puking. All Might stalked over to the blond and I took the chance to help Midoriya out with my good arm. With a bit of struggle, we got him out, All Might gave him a lecture about his strength and where he should be applying himself. I was shocked that he did that but Midoriya and I were still determined to at least communicate.

"Onryo, your arm-"

"I'm fine. You run, I'll distract him, stick to the sides. Got it?" He nodded once and got ready. I took a deep breath and cracked my neck.

All Might was winding up to punch Bakugou, I dove and pulled it out of the way. Midoriya leaped forward and grabbed Bakugou, running off with him while I acted as a distraction.

'Dammit, I meant as two on one not one on one. Shit.'

"How noble of you to sacrifice yourself. Do you think that's what it means to be a hero? To have a martyr complex after playing victim for so long?" I sucked in a breath and didn't give him and answer, knowing he was just trying to rile me up. All Might reached and grabbed my broken arm and I made sure not to cry out in pain as he tossed me like a child's toy. I rolled on the landing to keep the moment and lessen the blow.

"Those sure are heavy, huh?" He groaned at the max volume. "Looks like you're holding back!" I screamed, the ground rumbled beneath him and blood dripped down from his ears.

He was in front of me before I could process what was happening, a swift punch was sent to my side, my back slamming into a building, sickening cracks echoing in my head.

"Your'e going the wrong way!" Bakugou yelled as he kept out of the debris.

"That supposed to be a sneak attack?" Bakugou sent a few explosions into his face before landing.

"Deku!" He hollered and I watched with hazy eyes as my green haired friend came out from behind All Might with a gauntlet, letting off a large explosion that was once used on him.

"Shoot now!"

"I'm sorry, All Might!" As he let off the explosion I yelled as loud as I could, full force pointed at number one.

I used my little energy to get up and run between buildings, following their escape tactic. I caught enough of a gap to run in the street so I wouldn't have any blind spots.

"Don't look back." I coughed, my throat hoarse from using my quirk so much. "You guys make it to the gate, I'm too far behind. Think I broke a rib. My hearings out after the sneak attack. I'll distract him as much as I can. Just keep fucking running, got it? He's getting up. Keep the gap." I coughed more, maintaining a steady jog.

All Might flew up behind me and I screamed again.

"Still trying to fight me, Young Tsukare? I must admit, you have guts. Too bad you didn't have them when you were twelve." I glared at him as he spoke, the two of us circling around each other. "Tsukauchi called it in and I was almost roped in to work on that man hunt, your dads were worried sick. Present Mic and Eraserhead." I faked a right hook and threw a left, just as I anticipated, he caught it. I ground my teeth together from the pain but still managed to kick him as hard as I could with my right leg. I watched as he coughed up blood.

"A weakness?" He took a rushed breath and threw me forward, my body flying far and hitting Midoriya. The both of us groaning at the harsh landing on the blacktop. All Might caught up in a blink of an eye, smashing Bakugou's other gauntlet and hitting Midoriya just as he stood up.

"Alright heroes, it's time for you both to die!" He bellowed out, kneeing Bakugou in the chin, slamming him through a building. Midoriya called out for him and went to get him only to be pulled back by his idol.

"That's my line!" Bakugou called out just as I managed to stand again. Both boys were slammed down and knocked on top of me. Bakugou was directly on top of me, keeping his weight off with his forearms but All Mights foot was on his back, the pro hero lifting up Midoriya by his wrist until Bakugou was suddenly smushed on top of me. My ears rung again, nothing he was saying translating. The green haired boy was thrown a fair amount away from us.

"You're helpless. This is over." My ears started working again at those words. Bakugou turned his hand and aimed an explosion at full strength at All Might above us.

He was blown back by the force but I couldn't hear a thing, next thing I knew, Midoriya and I were flying through the air from Bakugou throwing us. All Might smashed into us mid flight, the two of us smashing into the bus. I couldn't hear anything but I was smart enough to keep running, dragging Midoriya with me as best as I could until he shook off my hand and booked it. I kept hobbling to the gate, the three of us making it through at the same time.

I sat on the ground, staring at the dirt like it was the most interesting thing in the world. My breathing came in short, pained heaves. Anger and hatred flowed through my veins, the pain being masked by the adrenaline. I still couldn't hear anything, and if I could it was too fuzzy to make out. I looked up at the sight of a familiar set of shoes, my Dad standing there, my vision was too blurry with tears of frustration to read his lips. He crouched down to my height so I could see him better.

Are you okay?

I'm fine.

Onryo.

Everyone knows now, he had no fucking right to say any of that.

I know. He screwed up his chance with Nedzu. How do you want to handle this?

Okay, let's get you to the old lady.

I took a few deep breaths and tried to stand, succeeding after my Dad helped me. I walked away from the battle ground and to where the rest of my class stood, hoping Chiyo would be there but instead I received multiple looks being sent my direction. I turned on my heel and left, heading to her office and thankfully I found her there. She placed a kiss on my forehead and left me with a glass of water, thankfully catching the hint that I didn't want company. Hitoshi came and brought me my phone, checking in on me as well.

I'm fine, Toshi.

No you're not.

Yes I am. It's not my first broken bone.

He gave me a look but dropped it for now.

Chiyo scooted him out and wrapped my arm and torso, my shirt now abandoned. With her permission, I went next door to the sensory room.

I grabbed the softest blanket there, sat in a bean bag and put on a movie with subtitles.

Eventually I fell asleep, only waking up to Bakugou kicking my bean bag.

I pocketed my phone and went to the infirmary only to see Denki sitting outside on the bench. I blushed awkwardly and wrapped my arms around my stomach self consciously. His eyes roamed over my torso, a small red hue on his face.

"Hey." I waved, my throat still hurting from the strain. "Onryo.. you don't look fine. I mean, you do because I see why Kiri's jealous of your build but this isn't fine." I pulled out my phone and typed out what I wanted to say.

Sorry, throat still hurts and my hearing aids broke. But I'm fine, really. A few broken bones won't kill me.

"Ryo, you didn't just break a bone you broke a rib! I didn't think he would go that far in the exam." I shrugged and shifted my body weight.

I'm not that surprised. I'm more upset about the comments he made.

"I'm sorry he did that." I shrugged but made sure to keep a small smile on my face to convince him I was alright.

How are you holding up after your test?

He looked bummed and I felt guilty for bringing it up.

"No camp." He said with a small frown.

I'm sorry, Denks.

"It's not your fault!" I solemnly nodded, wishing I could do something to help. "Ah, sorry, I'll let you get to Recovery Girl now." I waved goodbye to him and rushed inside, quickly changed into the slacks and button up of my uniform and hurried out to the car.

Hey little listener, we already called the audiologist and set up an emergency appointment for tomorrow but it's going to be right after school. Dads gonna take you, okay?

Okay, can one of you make sure my alarm actually wakes me up?

Yep. We also have a meeting set up with Nedzu and All Might during lunch.

Joy.

How are your ears feeling?

Fine I guess. I think mostly my hearing aids got fried, the speaker probably blew out from the loud explosions. I still have some hearing but not a lot, I think I lost more of it.

Okay, it'll probably be a little while until we can get you new hearing aids. At least you'll be on summer break though.

Yeah.

I looked out the window for a moment until my phone buzzed.

From Boldore: Hey, you doing alright?

To Boldore: Yeah, I'm fine

From Boldore: Tsukare

From Boldore: I know you're not after earlier, I'm not expecting you to be because if I were in your shoes I wouldn't be either

From Boldore: Yknow I'm always here if you wanna talk, right?

To Boldore: I know and thank you, but I'm okay, really

To Boldore: Mostly I'm just tired after Chiyo using her quirk earlier

From Boldore: If you say so

I sighed to myself and watched the city buildings again, allowing myself to get lost in the view.

Title: Rules in Love

So, I wrote another fic for @voltagefandomproject for anyone who wants to read it.

Pairing: Dr. Kasumi x Reader (where reader is not the MC in the series)

Rating: Fluff

Word count: ~1k

Summary: So, it didn't work out between Dr. Kasumi and his ex. Take a peek at what the dark emperor is like when he re-enters the dating scene.

Notes: This has nothing to do with the original series, it was just a plunny I had playing in my head one evening. I don't own Voltage or any of its characters, but I own the idea for this fic.

It's a sunny Saturday morning and the two of you are finally on your way to watch the Baystars in their home court in Yokohama. You haven't been there in a while, but the stadium is very special to you; after all, that was where he took you on your first official date - the date that almost got canceled at the last minute because of a hospital schedule mix-up.

As you cruise along the tree-lined road leading out of the city, you steal a glance at your dashing date. Why, if you ever told anyone that you were out with Dr. Toshiki Kasumi, in his white European sedan, listening to K-pop songs on your way to a baseball game, they'd probably think you're nuts. But there you are, sitting in the passenger's seat, watching him tap his finger on the steering wheel while listening to an upbeat song from one of your favorite girl groups.

"I'm pretty sure there are more interesting sights to look at," he says, pulling you out of your reverie.

Your lips stretch into a big smile. Even when he's driving, he's paying attention to every little thing you do. "You're right. There are a lot of wonderful sights around," you respond. "And I've decided that you're the most wonderful of all."

He smirks, unsure of how to respond. That's another thing you adore about him - the fact that he's cool and collected, and always certain when it comes to anything related to the medical field, but is tentative and awkward when it comes to love.

Seeing that the tips of his ears turn a darker shade of red, you decide to change the topic. You shift in your seat. "So," you say, clearing your throat. "Did all go smoothly when you operated on that big-shot celebrity whose name you wouldn't disclose?"

He glances sideways at you and smiles. "We don't talk about work when we're out on a date, right?"

You smile back at him and nod. That was another thing you adore about him - he's always a stickler for the rules. You think back to the night you met him at The Pen a little over twelve weeks ago, at a mixer, which the two of you - apparently - were both forced to join. Even when he seemed uninterested, he didn't leave your side. At the end of the event, he tells you he'd just broken up with someone he dated at work, and that he was following the three-month rule. You thought he was joking and handed him your card, telling him to call you when his penance was over. He called you a week later. "The three-month rule is over," he declared and proceeded to ask if you wanted to watch a baseball game with him.

Since then, you've seen him quite a few times. You've visited museums, theme parks, the cinema, and even the oceanarium. You've cooked together in his apartment and he toured you around his workplace when you stopped by one afternoon - much to his team's surprise. You've come to know the gentle guy behind the stony facade, but he's never done anything more than put a hand at the small of your back or around your shoulder to protect you when you're in a crowded place. He's never attempted to do more than give you a light peck on the cheek at the end of your date.

It's a little frustrating if you have to be honest, but he firmly believes that if there's a three-month rule after a breakup, the same thing should apply when you're seeing someone new. And you can't really complain when you know that there are a lot of other women out there who'd kill for a chance to date this dark-haired beauty, but all he wants is to spend time with you.

It was his turn to clear his throat. "You're awfully quiet," he teased. "Has the sight you've chosen started to bore you?" He's been driving for nearly an hour, and the GPS says you'll be reaching his destination in another ten minutes.

You straightened up. "You could never bore me."

"I noticed," he said. "All this time we've been seeing each other, you hardly ever complained about keeping me company."

"I could say the same about you," you quipped.

"You're never boring," he replied, a nervous chuckle escaping him. "Anyway, do you know why we're here?"

"Apart from watching the Baystars?"

He nodded. "This was where we had our first date," he said. "(Y/n), it's been three months since we started dating," he continued, keeping one hand on the wheel while his other hand brushed against yours. "I… uh… Well, I'm not sure this is the right time to say this, but I want you to know that I'm serious about you and that I want our relationship to be… You know…"

You cocked your head to one side, egging him on. "To be?"

"You're gonna make me say it? Fine. I want us to be an exclusive couple. I want to be your boyfriend," he said, and you found it cute how he, in his late thirties, still managed to blush like a teen.

"So does that mean I get more than a peck on the cheek after a date?"

He smiled. "If you're good."

"And does that also mean we get to stay over at each others' apartments from time to time?"

"If that's what you want."

"Hmm," you said, pretending to be in deep thought. "And do I get to make some of my own rules for you to follow as well?"

"I'm all yours," he replied. "So, what do you say, can I have my answer now?"

Suddenly, the GPS announces that you've reached your destination. He's now looking for a parking space, carefully driving along the parking lot full of spectators decked out in their team's colors. You haven't given him an answer yet, but judging by how confidently he fits your hand into his and how natural it feels, you think he already knows he's going to be anything but upset today.

And i live persona 3 Portable. i think they really give you a completely new perspective with Minako and the social link with Ryoji is fantastic, best one, they are so cute. I know a lot of people dislike Minako bc they say she completely negates the theme of Memento Mori, but I think she is just the flipside of the coin. Like that meme about "nothing in life matters" where one is a depressed emo (Minato) and thr other is a sunglasses-wearing party man (Minako). She does fit the theme but /differently/ and that's rhe whole point of it. That's why I long for Atlus to do that again, give us femc with a different perspective on the same theme!!!! And yes, I know it was easier in p3p bc the cutscenes were basically a narated slideshow, so it just needed a modelswap and some new social links but honestly it was so damn good QwQ

I guess thats also why I took kind of an issue with Kasumi. When she was shown there was the hope she might be a Femc, but no Atlus proceeds to be a male protag waifu game-

Tangent: the fact you can date Kawakami but not your bros Ryuji-protects-women-daily-Sakamoto or Yusuke who is just a sweet nice guy living his best artist life, is a crime and I am personally pissed about it. I really hope that future games do shake things up and dont go down this path further. You can't just give Ryuji a line that's basically "my place is by your side/right next to you" and NOT expect me to see a budding romance.

PEOPLE SAY THAT ABOUT MY GIRL FEMC?!?! who what when where Why!! let me at em!! throwing hands!! i havent experienced minako/kotone in her entirety because well. p3fes the answer depression slump. but a large part of why i chose to p3 as my backwards dive into persona series and not p4g is because its arguably the only game to have a FeMC (maya p2 counts but also doesnt? cause she has the benefit of speaking in innocent sin that future silent protags don't). the sheer novelty of an unabashedly cute, girly girl in a social sim rife with the theme of death... her presentation alone could've told you how she's on the 'toxic positivity' side of the spectrum when dealing with grief? your description fits so well LMAO p3 MCs are so nihilistic love them both fr....

the glorified slideshow thing, their choice to port p3p instead of giving us a revamped, definitive persona 3 with fes' benefits (The Answer, control over team members, animated cutscenes) is just proof that they need to remake persona 3 with p5-level graphics now. god what are they doing over ther...

oh man now that you've got me started on it. kasumi, kasumi... she had So Much to Her that they just kinda. fumbled. do you want me to get into it? i kinda want to get into it. but it'll turn into a whole rant and these asks get long enough as is (not that I'm complaining! bro i love these back-and-forths theyre a highlight of my day fr) so i'll save it for another time I think LMAO. just know that im sharing grievances right there with you in the "kasumi-should-have-been-a-FeMC-of-sorts" camp.

lastly. OH for sure for real i get you like i feel the guy party members in 5 (aside from akch since. hes a special case) are kinda so agreeable to the point of simpery but like in a good way. in a dateable way. i feel like yusuke is so obvious about it too... shakes him affectionately. for a series not afraid of social commentary they really are afraid of blatant yaoi arent they. it couldve been baby steps like how fire emblem series did it... the time was right anyhow. scratches head... little known fact about me is that pegoryu and shukita kinda have my whole heart, almost as much as shuake does!! something about boys... just let them love, ATLUS!!
