Black Smoke Custody: Watchtower drop in
WC: 504 Masterpost
Cleaned up an old, undone part of BSC for WIP Wednesday~ who knows if this will actually make it into the story, whenever I get around to it!
-
Batman was mid sentence when Constantine jerked back from the meeting table. The base of the chair screeched against the floor as John pushed himself out of it.
"Constantine?" Batman asked; an order for information.
Constantine spun to look at him, blinking rapidly. Black smoke started to pour from the bottom of his trench coat. “Well, this is going to be a right mare.
He collapsed to his knees with a shout of pain. His fingers scrambled at the smooth floor. His back arched. Then as suddenly as it came, all the tension bled away. He slumped wearily onto his elbows.
Flash darted close only to stop himself short, hovering nervously around the Hellblazer. “Um, John?”
“Constantine,” Batman ordered again.
John ignored them both in favor of peeling back the lapel of his trench coat to peer at the smoke pooling there.
“What happened, kid?” His voice was gentle in a way that froze the rest of the founders, gentle in a way that they hadn’t heard from him before. It was still Constantine, still gruff and with that smoker’s rasp so it was unlikely they had to worry about a possession, but the tone was unmistakably softened.
The swirling black shifted, suddenly. John landed back on his ass as it curled around his torso tightly.
Constantine’s hand hovered just over the bulk of the smoke. “Okay, kid, you’re coming undone here. Can you pull yourself together a little?”
Slowly under Constantine’s gentle encouragement, the smoke condensed and started to solidify into a head with a unruly tuft of smoky black hair pressed tight into Constantine’s shoulder. Thin arms were wrapped around John’s waist. It was just as Constantine had addressed the being: a kid.
Wonder Woman lowered her blade.
“They found me!” The kid’s voice was filled with the static of a thousand overlapping voices at once. Superman flinched back at the sound, but Constantine didn’t even falter in the hand that was rubbing circles on the kid’s back. “They found me and I needed to—”
"Shit, fuck. It's okay. I've got you. You're safe. Nothing is going to get up here."
The kid froze— or froze as much as a being’s who’s form was made of soot and smoke was able to. “Up here?” They pulled their face away from Constantine’s shoulder just enough to glance around the room with startling bright green eyes. “Oh shit, this is the Watchtower! You’re in your meeting. I forgot, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to come up here!”
The kid started to practically disintegrate as they spoke. Their legs became see through and whole chunks of their arms were flaking away.
“Kid, Danny, don’t fade on me,” John urged. “It’s fine. It’s okay. I’m glad you came to me. You’re safer up here than anywhere. I’m sure that Bats will understand he can’t send you back when you’re in danger.”
As he said this, Constantine looked at Batman. His stare was burning— promising hell if Batman refused.
“Why don’t we get you settled,” Batman rumbled.

Ashes rain upon your scalded palms pt 1
Part 1/3 | Next Part | or read on AO3
@phicphight submission for @ecto-mochi's Prompt
Maddie is unexpectedly sent to an ashen future. She doesn't even get the chance to meet the mysterious man who sent her to this apocalyptic world - she's only given a single command, ringing over and over in her head: "Find Danny. Save him.
Also Very Much inspired by @zillychu's fire core AU because it has me in a chokehold.
Contains: Danny & Maddie bonding (?), Post apocalyptic vibes. NOT the ultimate enemy. A bucket full of angst.
_____
Chapter One
"Find Danny. Save him."
Maddie awoke with a start and immediately fell into a vicious coughing fit. Her lungs ached. The air was thick and polluted. She had to squint through irritated eyes once she had her handkerchief pressed to mouth and nose.
She registered heat around her, sweltering, like standing in front of a furnace rather than lounging out in the sun during a hot summer's day.
With half opened eyes, she took stock of what was going on. Fear and foreboding had consumed her mind by now and were only proven to be warranted. She had been half buried under ash coated rubble.
Her first thought was a house fire. Or the aftermath of which. But there was no ruin of a house, just the rubble that covered the area around her, and above her a dusty sky. Through the smog she could make out shapes that were vaguely shaped like the structures of houses in the distance, so she was certain she was in a town, probably even Amity Park. Had there been an earthquake?
Her hands pressed into a layer of ash, heat slowly sinking through her thick gloves, as she pushed herself upright. No pain registered as she stood. A small miracle. Not even her jumpsuit seemed damaged, only stained into a colorless gray.
"Jack?" She yelled through the cloth that she kept over her mouth against the worst of the pollution. It still sent her into another coughing fit. There was no response she could hear, even after her lungs had calmed down.
She needed a better vantage point then, if her voice wasn't strong enough to yell.
So she climbed the next biggest pile of broken stone and looked around in hopes of spotting a flash of orange or any other hints or signs of her family. But there were only broken buildings surrounding her and everything else was unrecognizable in its state of ash-covered debris.
What had happened here? She could still remember the last things she had done before waking up. She had sat in the living room writing a report on her last experiment.
Jack had been next to her, busy with his handcrafts. Jazz had been off with her fiancé and Danny-
"Find Danny. Save him."
Maddie almost fell off the pile of broken bricks. "Who's there?!" She yelled hoarsely.
But the world had gone quiet again. She hadn't noticed it before, with the pounding of her heart and the clattering of rubble as she scrambled around, but, if she held her breath and stood still, the world turned utterly soundless.
Not a scurrying of a rat or the yelling of someone in distress. No howling of wind or rustling of leaves. Time itself seemed to be depraved of sound- of Life.
Her breathing became short and shallow.
"Find Danny. Save him."
She flinched when the voice sounded again. So close it seemed to come from inside her head.
Was this her own panic sparking her into action?
Danny. Her son. She had to find him. But, didn't she have to find Jazz and Jack as well?
Or was this not her own thought? Maddie sank to her knees and forced herself to take in hot air. She wiped over her brow with her sleeve. The heat was getting to her, that was probably an onset of a heatstroke.
She had to find shelter, food, water…, find out where she was, find out what had happened between her last thought and this wasteland.
She had to find her family.
With new determination she looked up again and scanned her surroundings more carefully this time.
It was hard to make things out through the smoky fog. Everything turned into a monotone shade of grey, no further than a well tossed stone's throw away.
So she almost missed it, a glint far in the distance. Skeletal shadows stood blurrily, too washed out to really look like much, but they at least looked different from the rest of the ruins around her.
Mind made up, Maddie clambered down from her perch and headed towards it.
Her walk was a somber one. The heat seemed to be getting less bearable with every step and mirages distorted the ground and air ahead which made it hard to keep her turned towards the right direction.
Her breath through her makeshift mask hitched slightly whenever she tripped over hidden rubble and her clothes were quickly soaked. Ash mixed uncomfortably with her sweat. It clung to her whenever her steps disrupted the inch thick layer with every step and made billowing clouds of burned dust rise up like smoke from a fire.
Maddie frowned at that. She paused for a moment to look behind herself, and sure enough, a path was left behind. From where she had woken up, straight to where she was now. It wasn’t surprising that she’d left a track, but  judging by the lack of any other footsteps she could spot, she might be the first person to have come through here in a while. She also wasn’t sure how long she must have been unconscious. She hadn’t felt all that dehydrated when she first woke up, but she had to have been lying there for a while for so much ash to settle.
Gooseflesh ran up her arms and Maddie rubbed fiercely at them. This was all pointing towards a direction she did not appreciate. Had she been spirited away? Had she been sent into some kind of Hell? The involvement of the Supernatural seemed the most likely explanation so far. More so than a house fire or an earthquake.
Her whole life though, she had dedicated to the science of the unknown. And she was getting close to the completion of the Portal. Her and Jack had been relentless recently.
So, while she should be ecstatic to maybe gather definite proof of the very thing she had been studying, she felt bothered by it… Her encounter with the Supernatural had been supposed to be caused by her scientific prowess. Not whatever was going on here. Completely unprompted hexing. Like this was all just a coincidence. A fluke or some kind of cosmic joke. She kicked a pebble.
“Oh you small woman want to play scientist and spend your life enduring the ridicule of people disallowing women the capacity to use their brains? Well none of that, my dear, let’s just throw all that hard work away and have the unnatural come to you, without the need to use that head of yours.” Maddie mumbled in a mocking voice. She was going insane. But still that thought irked.
She didn’t like those things called Luck, Chance and Fate. They felt so antithetic to her exhaustingly hard work she had to put in. It made it feel less. Her mother never had seemed to understand her issue with that. Maddie hoped she never made Jazz, or Danny for that matter, feel like that. Like their Efforts were any less powerful than Fate.
She exhaled a long breath before turning back towards her destination. This time she kept on the lookout for any signs of disruption in the soft blanketing. Any signs that she wasn’t the only person around. She had to find Danny. She shook her head. “And Jazz. And Jack. All of them.” she spoke with emphasis.
What lay in the distance was hard to gauge, with how everything looked like just another shade of nothing. But she had been right. The structure she was getting close to was different from anything she had seen on her path. Even more so, it seemed to be the center of the whole area of sorts. The temperature had been climbing steadily and the landscape had become almost completely flattened. It reminded her of tales of bombs and explosions that the men would bring back from the front. Her father never had told her much, but on the rare nights when he had sat down with world weariness and a glint of injustice in his eyes, he would answer all her curious questions and tell her about the dark side of science. About things that were made to cause only destruction. The alcohol had surely helped in making his tongue loose, even if she had always found it decently ironic, that for someone who would be so insistent on rules, that he would so easily break them himself when it came to something like smuggling in whiskey.
But she could understand it, somewhat. If she was disturbed by the sight of her current hellscape, she didn’t want to imagine what it must be like to experience it littered with blood, guts and bodies. If she had to live through something like that, then a bottle would also seem appealing to her.
She could go for a drink now, if she was being frank with herself. Her legs shook both from exhaustion and heat, but when she finally got to the structure, it made her trip backwards with a start. Because it didn't take too much of a closer look to recognise it. And it startled her because It was familiar machinery. Intimately familiar. It was the Portal. Her Portal.
A skeletal frame was all that was left of it. Warped steel reached towards an uncaring sky. She could spot drops of molten copper that stuck to some of the carcass' innards.
Maddie didn’t even care to suppress the sob that built in her throat. Her eyes burned from more than the dusty air, and she only had half a mind to not rub them with her gritty gloves.
Her portal was dead. Imploded or exploded. It took everything with it in its final moments. She wondered if it had spared her, out of recognition. Her life's work might have.
The pain of seeing her own in such a state was overwhelming. And all the destruction.. the portal was meant to break a new frontier, not be the root of catastrophe.
Calming down was difficult, but she had to put her grief aside until she knew where the rest of her family was.
Her theory of being spirited away didn't fit her new evidence anymore.
She was …home. Except her home was devoid of her family and her greatest creation had destroyed everything in its wider vicinity. It might have even killed-
Anger flared up then. This wasn’t right. Her Portal hadn’t even been close enough to completion yet. It had been in its infancy at best. There had been no permanent connection to a generator either. Even the ones her and Jack used, wouldn’t have had enough voltage to do more than run a few basic connectivity checks.
There was not even the slightest chance that it would be able to level a city. Not yet. Their plans would involve more voltage, more fuel, more unstable elements eventually. It would have had the potential in the future. But not yet. Even if Jack and her had wanted it to be much further down their project timeline. Their issues had always started and ended with materials. It usually took them compromises for what parts they would need, or patience while they first had to develop what they'd need. A lot of their plans even hinged on hypothetical materials that might exist in another time. Finding substitutes for them...it did bear greater potential for accidents and malfunctions, but so far her and Jack had been very conservative with what they'd use.
So this mass destruction couldn't have been her Portal's fault…. Yet, it sat right there, at the center…
Though when she looked closer, even less things made sense. There were parts, melted and deformed as they were, built into place, even though they should still have been sitting on a workbench. Some parts, she had only just put the order in for.
So what was this? It definitely was the corpse of a portal. She’d even swear that it was her Portal specifically. She had walked around it once now, but there was only so much she could tell, so she did the thing she would always vehemently advise against when it came to unfamiliar or broken machinery. She stepped inside.
She half expected something to happen. But it was just more of the same mutilated metal.
Still she couldn’t help the gooseflesh that returned to her arms as she inspected the remains.
Her brows knitted together when she saw the texture of the surface of some of the support beams. There was corrosion.
She knelt down and dug around until she pulled out wires from under metal plating that was thick but loose enough for her to pry apart.
“Why do you look like this?” Maddie mumbled under her breath when she held partially intact wires in her hands. They looked wrong. Not just like they had been caught in an explosion, but as if they were plain old. Brittle insolation that had faded from their bright colors, to soft pastels. Oxidation that would not happen in even a month or two, now discolored the copper. Even the beams she had spotted were rusting and flaking. They looked off-
Maddie’s head snapped up at a sudden noise. After the silence she’d been in since waking up, the sound came unexpectedly.
Even more so, It was a hissing growl that cut through the quiet like a knife.
Maddie had grown up in the countryside, she would recognize almost any local wildlife by their noises, so she knew exactly that this was not one of them.
She crouched low and moved to a spot with a large enough gap between the metal to look through. The noise had come from a distance, yet its echo had betrayed its force. Maddie felt the gooseflesh again. A shiver that ran up and down her body and made her shudder even in this furnace of a place. Instincts. That’s what that must have been about all along.
Her breath caught in her throat when her eyes focused on what she could see through the makeshift viewport.
Ghost.
Ahead of her, far enough that it almost got swallowed by the smog, floated and growled a ghost. Its un-nature was given away by its glow to anyone who had eyes. Even through the curtain of impure air, the light it emitted was unmistakable. Its shape was harder to make out. It looked vaguely humanoid, but she would have to get closer to make out any kind of detail. But she wasn’t armed very well, she only had her standard tools in her coat pockets and she was in an unfamiliar environment and without Jack. She wasn't ready to fight, no matter how much her desire fought against her reason.
Luckily it didn’t seem to have spotted her yet anyways..
It looked to be facing away from her too and growling further into the void beyond the fog.
There must be another one, she concluded. This was bad though. Ghosts were theorized to be highly territorial. So if there were two, a fight was likely to break out, if the posturing and growling didn’t deter the challenger.
Maddie decided to follow her instincts and retreat. Getting caught up in this would not end well.
She was glad for the ashy blanket on the ground that muted her steps, even as she all but ran. She didn’t dare to look back and only stopped for breath, when the ruins became taller and more resembling buildings and the air became cooler. Her newer theory must have been correct. The Portal was the epicenter after all. She could also recognise landmarks now. It was hard to reconcile this disaster zone with her home, but those were undoubtedly the streets she's known for the last twenty years.
After catching her breath and reveling in the comparably low temperatures, she continued in the direction she’d been running towards.
She wanted answers. The further away she got from the epicenter, the more likely she was to find things that were left unmarred.
She walked until she found a building that was left whole. Its red bricks shone through in places, and the windows were intact in some of the floors.
“I’m sorry” she whispered as she broke into the home of a family she'd known in passing.
It was no matter, as there was no sign of anyone having been here in ages. This time dust coated the surfaces and furniture, opposed to the ash she had almost gotten used to.
This place was exactly what Maddie needed.
She walked carefully through the hall and towards the kitchen. She found the living room during her search and the bathroom. She ignored the living room for now, but tested out the faucet in the bathroom. Nothing. Well, she hadn’t expected it to work. The city’s water system wouldn’t have been able to take such an explosion anyways. The watertower would have been in the zone with medium destruction, but that would be enough to render the town without a drop.
She noted how the faucet had been stuck and took a fair amount of force to even budge.
She continued towards the kitchen.
There were signs that someone had rummaged around and then left in a hurry. Maddie hoped that meant that whoever had lived here, had gotten to evacuate.
Maddie opened all cupboards and shelves until she had a decent pile of conserves. There was no water, but some of the tins were filled with soup. The labels weren’t pristine like something freshly bought. But Maddie was not prepared for the smell that hit her when she opened the first can.
Almost all of them were spoiled. Some tins had rusted in places. It took her some courage to drink from the one broth that smelled the least nauseating.
Yet it was a relief to wash the taste of smoke off her tongue.
She didn’t waste time after that to explore the rest of the home. The homeowners must have been on the wealthy side, since they were equipped with all sorts of modern gadgets. They even had a vacuum cleaner. Not that she would consider that high tech by her own standards. She had tried to get her own version patented long before that stealing bastard snatched her idea and made his own “vision”. You could only suck up dust with his. How was that superior to her home defense version? But that would probably not be the last stolen patent that quack would sell as his own … at least she could turn his pile of junk into something she could use for her own situation in a bit.
The living room had also turned out to be useful for her. Books, letters, and most importantly, a newspaper were to be found.
That one made her pause the longest in her scavenger hunt.
The date on it was impossible. It was well of a year into the future. When she picked up the brittle and gilbed pages, it almost fell apart, so she carefully skimmed over the articles.
“I must be hallucinating.” she breathed out. There, on the third page of the Amity Times, her name stood out from the headline of a column.
The Fenton Portal, her portal, had been completed but a test run had been a failure. The article was mocking. But right now she barely noticed.
She put down the paper and let herself sink onto the couch, not caring about the dust that got stirred up.
She'd been running around and mentally cataloging her findings for a while now. There was probably enough now to come to some conclusions about this situation.
Examine the evidence. That's what she had to do next.
There was no mistaking it, she somehow ended in the future. The paper read it was August 22nd 1924. That was one year later than it should be, … but that was also only the date when the newspaper stopped.
The paper itself held some answers.
It looked like the old records she'd get from libraries for her research.
And she was a competent scientist, she could make an educated estimate on how old things were based on their state. And this newspaper? It looked old.
And not just the paper. The portal too. And the conserves. And even the furniture inside this house. It all consistently showed signs of aging.
She didn't want it to be true, but the evidence spoke for itself.
She was in the future. A far off one. Most of it pointed towards it being around a century or so from when she should be.
Maddie rested her head on the back of the couch and stared at the ceiling.
So she had been spirited away. Not locally, but temporally. To a time that seemed like the aftermath of an apocalypse. Or post judgement day, as her mother would surely call it.
And her Portal was supposed to be the cause of it?
That part she still couldn't agree with.
Even in the newspaper, and she assumed it had been of the day everything had gone to hell, it said the portal had been tested and failed. But that must've been a safe affair, since the news of it existed. If it had gone up during the test, then there would be no one left to report on it.
She knew herself well enough to know that she wouldn't just turn it on carelessly after a failed run.
She couldn't even imagine Jack being so careless as to just turn it on or short circuit it.
An accident…. Maybe.
But they still had a procedure they followed when turning the Portal on even for its, in her actual time, half completed state. That included powering it back down and disconnecting it from its power.
But there were more factors at play here anyways.
There was a ghost. Lingering around here like it was its haunt.
And there was a reason she had been sent here.
The order to "find Danny. Save him." Had not left her head. It was like a song she'd hear on the radio once that would keep playing over and over in her head, even hours later.
Danny might've been sent here as well. Maybe she even set out herself to go after her son, and just had amnesia from whatever invention of hers brought her here.
It would be a relief at least. If she was here out of her own volition and with a mission.
Then that would mean she held strings in her own hand, and wasn't just being pulled along. It would also mean that the rest of her family wasn't here.
This would only hold up as a theory. But for now she would accept it and act upon it.
So the last piece:
The ghost.
Her instinct back there at the portal had screamed at her to run. And instinct, her intuition even, were rarely something she wanted to dismiss.
And her intuition was telling her the ghost was the key to it all. To figure out the apocalyptic event that flattened the city with her Portal at the center, and what happened to Danny. She would find him. And she would save him.

You sat on Professor Riley's lap after class, his rigid length smearing precum in between your soft, bare thighs as he fucked them. His large hands curled around your waist, long fingers creating tiny dents where he dug them into the supple flesh.
His breath warmed the delicate skin of your throat, as pants escaped his lips. You deliberately pressed your legs closer together— hoping that it provided enough amount of friction for him to finish.
You need this extra credit, after all.
Ghost inhaled sharply when you did, the grip he had on you almost painful.
"Fuckin' hell." His rich groan resonated in your chest. The gusset of your knickers was damp with arousal, both yours and his. The languid drag of his cock against your clothed pussy was so tantalizing, your core ached to be filled.
You were about to urge him to forget intercrural sex— to undress and fuck you already when a sharp knock on the door cuts through the fog in your head; a sudden rush of clarity pouring over you like a bucket of ice-cold water.
Shit.
Your back straightens at the interruption and quickly move to get off of Ghost's lap when he wraps an arm around your middle, keeping you firmly in place. A strangled noise claws up your throat. He cannot be serious.
"Come in," he calls out.
"No. No no no, you can't— you'll be fired, I'll be expelled, Professor Riley, please—" your voice warbles in your panic. His hold on you is as strong as steel, leaving no room for escape or resistance. You're helpless as the doors creep open and Professor Price steps in.
Of course, it's the most pretentious asshole teacher in existence.
"Hey, Riley, have you gotten the ema—" he trails off. His striking blue eyes flick down to your legs. Or more precisely, to what's still in between them fully erect.
"I was unaware you were busy with a...student." The sound of his footsteps draws closer. "Is this what you call detention?" Price leans on the desk with his hip, eyes never straying from you.
Ghost stifles a laugh. "Ask a better question, Price."
Heat licks up your jaw and cheeks when he resumes his thrusting as if there isn't another whole grown man in the room— one who can potentially ruin both his career and your collegiate one.
"Like what, Riley? Want me to ask if I can get a taste?" You look at Price and notice that his eyes are dark, limpid blue rings around the edges— knuckles stained white with how tightly he's clenching his hands. "You've never been a sharing type."
"Well, this sweet toy of mine loves being shared, doesn't she?" Swiftly, Ghost lifts you, his manhood now nestled against the curve of your back. His clever fingers move to your covered center, and draw featherlight circles on your hood, right above your clit. A whimper falls from your lips at the feeling.
"Answer him, pet. Tell Price ya don't mind gettin' this pretty pussy licked by him." He presses down on your bundle of nerves firmly with the pad of his thumb when you take a second too long to answer.
"I, I don't," you hiss when he rubs, "d-don't mind." Ghost gives your cunt a gentle tap.
"Don't mind what?" You swallow the lump lodged in your throat.
"I don't mind getting my pussy licked by Professor Price." His teeth tenderly graze the shell of your ear, followed by a small nip.
"Good girl," he mutters into your hair. Then directs his attention to Price, who's biting his bottom lip— the look he's giving you making your head swim. "She answered, so get down here or get out," he commands.
Ghost clasps his hands under your thighs and lifts until your feet rest flat above his knees. He hooks a finger into the sodden fabric of your knickers and drags it to the side, baring your glistening slit to the cold air of the room, erupting your heated skin in goosebumps. "On your knees, old man, unless they're too creaky to handle this."
Price's lip curls with unveiled amusement. "I was simply admirin' the view, Riley. Don't get your pants in a twist." He lowers himself to the floor smoothly until he's kneeled within inches of your exposed sex.
His prickly beard tickles the sensitive skin of your inner thighs, and his mouth is warm and wet as his tongue slides between your folds.
Another former industry giant devouring your passion with the hunger of a starved man at a lavish feast. Each stroke of his tongue spreads the warmth in your stomach, a pressure slowly rising, building—
"Sit her on you," Price mouths against your cunt.
When you find yourself wedged between two burly men, there's not much you can do except surrender to their wishes. That means being lowered onto Ghost— instinctively closing your eyes as you savor the stretch and biting the inside of your gummy cheek at the mildly uncomfortable burn.
Gravity does most of the work as you sink into him in one gentle stroke.
And without reprieve, Price dives right back in. The dull ache from where Ghost's tip presses into the plug of your womb, to the pleasure coming from the attention given to your swollen bundle of nerves.
An intoxicating mix of bliss with pain furling at the edges.
It's so good, teetering on the edge of too much, but when Price sucks lightly on your clit, your body seizes. You scrabble to grab his dark brown hair, blunt nails biting into his scalp as your shatter around Ghost's cock and Price's mouth.
Ecstasy pulses through you like the steady beat of your heart, white-hot euphoria coursing through your veins. There's a ringing in your ears, shrill and deafening, and your breathing comes in ragged pants as you come down from your high.
Your face glistens with sweat as droplets trickle down your temples, hair plastered to your forehead.
Jesus.
Price lapped at the arousal that dripped down Ghost's length, softly groaning at the taste before giving you a wolfish grin behind his coarse facial hair that was damp with your desire.
"Welcome back, sweetheart," he murmurs.
You relax the tight hold you have on his hair as he tenderly kisses where you and Ghost are joined.
Ghost nudges your ear with his nose, and his deep voice rolls over you like a wave. "Greedy little cunt jus' about cut off my circulation, pet." He shifts under you, sliding even deeper than before, a hiss escaping from behind your teeth.
"I think Price is feelin' a little left out, don't you?" With a shaky nod and a quiet mhm, you feel his lips press against the side of your neck.
"Think you can take us both?" It feels more like a warning of what's to come than a genuine question. The idea of being stuffed by both of them sends a thrill up your back.
Price sits back on his haunches, palming himself from outside his trousers. "Think so, sweetheart?" He rises to his feet and promptly sweeps away everything from the wooden desk, scattering them across the floor. Taking a seat on the desk, he positions himself comfortably, his legs slightly bent and his feet firmly touching the ground. How unfair.
With a hand, Price beckons you to him.
Your legs tremble almost comically after having them in such an unnatural position for so long; tingling when you finally stretch them out in front of you. Ghost's hands at your waist help you stand, wincing when he pulls out of you unceremoniously.
Under his breath, he apologizes and gently nudges you towards Price by pressing his hand on your shoulder blades. "Go on, it's rude to keep him waiting." You're then guided forward as warm hands wrap around your biceps, leading you to stand in front of Price.
You drag your eyes from his down to his groin, where his erection is confined behind the strained zipper. Suddenly, Ghost's toned arms surround you, his hands eagerly reaching for the button on the front. "Lemme help ya out, love."
In seconds, Price's heavy manhood bobs as it springs out, ruddy tip hitting just below his navel. Simon firmly grabs your hand and swiftly turns it, exposing your palm. Without warning, he shamelessly spits on it before wrapping it around Price.
A guttural noise escapes him when you squeeze the thick of it tightly. He bucks his hips in a deliberate rhythm— taking hold of your wrist, ensuring your hand remains in position as he continues to thrust upwards until his cock is slick with his precum.
You can't help but rub your thighs together in hopes of getting some of the friction you're desperate for.
"Not gonna come already, are ya Price? We haven't even gotten started." Ghost ignores his scoff, rapping his knuckles on the desk. "Knickers off and climb up, pet."
You hastily tear off your smallclothes, shucking them to the side with your foot before hopping up on the desk, one leg at a time. Price steadies you with his hands on your waist. As you straddle him, your muscles ignite with a satisfying burn as they adjust the expanse of his thighs.
His voice is soft, gentle even, when he whispers into your ear. "Good?" You gasp sharply when Ghost spanks your arsecheeks before nodding at Price. "Jus' like we practiced, yeah?"
Yeah, just like you practiced. The plug you had to wear throughout the week whenever they both weren't tearing you in half should be more than enough prep. You hope.
Ghost taps the side of your thigh. "Cockwarm him while I get this perfect arse ready."
The stretch is intense as you lower yourself on Price— his cock thicker than Ghost's just not as long— it pushes the air out of your lungs. He bites his lip til it reddens, his eyes fixed onto where he disappears inside of you, fingers digging into the meat of your waist.
Your eyes flutter closed when he finally bottoms out, his girth splitting your swollen walls apart mercilessly.
God, he feels so good.
And then the sting of one thick, lubed finger pressing into your tight ring of muscle smothers some of that pleasure.
"Hey, hey. Look at me." Price tips your chin up with his hand, your eyes meeting his. "Good. Breathe for me, sweetheart." He leans forward to place open-mouthed prickly kisses on your neck. "Breathe, love. You've already taken us before. You did beautifully then, and you'll do beautifully now."
He distracts you from the discomfort by suckling on your skin, leaving red little love bites behind. Then, a second finger, so much bigger than your own. Price hisses sympathetically when you do— a tiny whimper coming from the back of your throat.
This time it's Ghost that breathes into your ear. "Doin' so good f'me."
Then he works a third finger in, and your back arches at the jolt of pain that licks up your spine.
Words of praise fall upon your ears, syrupy and saccharine, dulling the ache. He scissors and stretches gingerly, as he's always done. Ghost takes his time, curling his fingers inside— a slow and steady in and out that eventually has you clamping around Price.
He sucks in a breath through his teeth when you do. "So bloody tight."
"Alrigh' Price." Ghost takes you by the hips and cants them forward slightly, a cry falling from your lips at the change in angle. "Hold her open f'me."
He does just that; rough, worn hands spreading you open almost embarrassingly. There's a hot and heavy weight tapping your arse once, thrice— and then there's a blunt pressure pushing into your other much smaller hole. Your spine bows at the thick invasion, it burns, it throbs, but smart fingers find your neglected pearl and start to circle it.
The pain is merely physical, it can be overcome. Focus on the touch on your clit, focus on the hands that hold you, the heat that radiates from both of them. The harsh breathing of the man behind you as he fights to keep himself from fucking himself into you unfettered. Strained noises spilled from Price's parted lips as he felt your channel constrict, your sex beginning to get slick with your desire.
Ghost hilts, leaning forward until his barrel chest hits your back, a strangled groan coming from him. You felt unbearably full, about to tear at the bloody seams. Every single nerve from your navel down to the tips of your toes was on fire. You felt a throbbing sensation radiating from the back of your skull.
It was scalding hot, searing. The thin membrane that separated them felt stretched beyond its limit.
"Y'okay?" You can't even tell who asked you that past the rushing of blood that's in your ears. Your head feels too heavy on your shoulders, letting it lull forward until your forehead rests on Price's collarbone.
Ghost's chest vibrates as he speaks, the low rumble sinking into your skin, warming you from the inside. "Breathe for us, love. Deep in, slow out."
Right.
You remember what Price had said the very first time they fucked you. 'Breathing helps to process any pain and supports the nervous system.'
As you inhale deeply, your lungs expand to the point where you can feel a twinge of discomfort. But as you exhale, the tension in your body melts, your muscles gradually slackening.
Ghost undulates his hips once languidly, and while the ache flared back to life, below that was the pleasure you've become well acquainted with, desperately clawing its way to the surface.
A moan slips out of you unbidden.
"Perfect. So fuckin' perfect." Price's praise makes you dig your fingers into his broad shoulders, nails biting into his skin.
Then you're lifted by two sets of hands— one on your hips, the other on the underside of your thighs and brought back down. Fuck.
"Tha's it, love. Takin' us both so well," Ghost murmurs. When you begin to mewl, a clear sign of pleasure, Price plants his feet on the floor, and snaps his hips up. Black spots dot your vision, a euphoria shooting through your veins.
God, you hope your hips hold out.
They begin to move in tandem, one pushing in completely, while the other pulls out until just an inch stays inside.
It's sublime, obscene squelching coming from both your front and back. Once your body gives in to their assault, everything starts to blur at the edges, from your sight to your thoughts. You melt in their hands, softening under their touch as they take their pleasure from you.
They begin to fuck you in earnest, breath punched out of you with every thrust, and when Ghost takes control by grabbing a fistful of your hair, it sends waves of something through your stomach. The loud whine that comes from you is filthy.
"Always meltin' into a puddle over a firm hand, pet. Isn't tha' right?" He asks you as if you could even dream of answering. Your tongue is heavy in your dry mouth, and throat like sandpaper.
"Ready to make Price come? Choke his cock with tha' vice-like cunt, love. Wrench it outta him, take every drop of his cum, and then take mine."
Who are you to disobey such an edict?
The snarl Price lets out is animalistic when you squeeze him snugly, his thrusts turn jarring as he swells and stills— twitching inside of you, warmth pooling in your belly.
Only to realize that Ghost finished simultaneously.
There's a joke in there somewhere, about a couple finishing together, but you've been thoroughly fucked stupid.
Cut.
Simon takes you home— his home, and soaks you in a warm, bubble bath that smells like something he shouldn't have.
"I bough' it for you," he hums.
His callused palms knead into your sore calf muscles, hand making its way down to press into the arch of your foot.
"Don't go makin' those noises, love."
Eventually, you address the elephant in the room, and his answer makes your pulse race. "Gotta create a soft safe place f'you to land after somethin' tha' intense. Ya need to wind down, catch your breath."
He says it so casually as if it was common sense.
"Here. Drink your water." The bottle in your hands is room temperature, just how you like it.

Dp x DC crossover au where Danny uses the infinity map to locate and steal back Aragons cursed dragon amulet and was lead to a different dimension, and more specifically a city called Gotham.
Phantom manages to get the amulet back without any dragon shenanigans by teaming up with this cool cat lady. Yeah, he might have helped a jewel thief run off with half of the museums collection, but her reasoning made sense to him and you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet.
It was on his way back that he spotted a guy in a leather jacket and an odd red mask. The man took one look at Phantom flying through the sky and muttered something about his eyes before opening fire on him with an actual gun.
Danny notices there's something wrong with this "ghosts" core and decides to just pick him up and take him to Frostbite for medical care.
The rest of the Batfam freak out after discovering Jason has been kidnapped by some sort of Lazarus Pit creature and they couldn't find him.
When Jason returns he has packet of medical information and a very strange tale about Yetis, the underworld and basically being forced into taking luxury spa treatments for a week straight to finally get rid of the Lazarus gunk in him and get his "core" properly formed.
To be honest, Jason doesn't think he's ever felt this good before.

Part 5 - dare not preach
Dp x DC AU: Regent!Jazz & Vigilante!Jazz
Masterlist Part 4
"And If I had the answers I'd have written them out so I could tell you what to do and what this thing is about. But all I've ever learned comes second-hand and I dare not preach what I don't understand." -Make A Move by Icon For Hire
//////////////////////
Content warning: briefly implied child abuse (Vlad is not a good guy by any definition),
Tumblr media
Time was lost in between bouts of consciousness, flashes of pretty eyes and fire hair,  soft muttering and gentle caresses against his skin soothing his aches.
Jason was caught between heaven and hell, wracked with agony behind his ribs one moment and healed with persistent warmth the next, a never ending cycle.
He wanted to scream.
One bout of semi-clarity was of some citrus concoction on his tongue, gentle murmurs of a woman by his ear before she kissed him again, forced something down his throat again.
He both loved and hated that woman. She felt familiar in a way that made his bat-honed paranoia rear its ugly head, the instinct to survive in his gut a heavy weight, but she brought him peace in the same moment she could damn him.
He caught his name once, his real name, spoken by her as he swallowed dutifully, a spike of want in his heart almost a welcome change from the pain by that point.
————————————————
Jazz spoke with the Lady frequently as the Red Hood, Jason, healed in her bed.
The elder spirit, regal in mannerisms and aura, demanded the Regent to aid this one vigilante, this one knight and Jazz had finally figured out why.
It was so obvious when she had all the puzzle pieces, the depth of occult knowledge both in her brain and at her disposal should have been her first resource used to dig deeper, but she’d allowed Danny and Frostbite to assume (and let her assume) that the Red Hood was an awakened Liminal who was recovering from corrupted Ecto in his system.
The Red Hood had been Jason Todd-Wayne, the second Robin- bright light of Gotham- and he’d been murdered by the Joker.
Unburied in my soil.
Jazz groaned in self-contempt as she paced the graveyard of Gotham’s Crime Alley. It was decrepit and uncared for, not like the higher class cemetery of Gotham proper where the Rich and powerful are buried. She what’s spent the better part of three days researching her new bedmate roommate once he’d been stabilized enough to be on a consistent schedule for ecto-infusion. He’d be unlikely to regain full consciousness for another month or so, but he would recover fully.
That was, if he understood what he had become in his near-fatal collapse.
(Thanks to Jazz and her rash actions.)
The Lady had been cryptic when speaking of Red Hood at first, but with his recovery and development of a strong proto-core Lady Gotham was eager to aid the Regent in making her once Robin adjust to a world-changing consequence once again.
(At least this time he would have support.)
Not only was Jason a Liminal with an indisputable death-claim, he had been a- a Revenant whose continued existence was a mind boggling happenstance of circumstance that was one in a infinite chance of ever happening again.
The Lady claimed him. The Lady gave a bit of herself to resurrect her bright Light, the one who shouldn’t have died so young, not while he deserved happiness for the hope he brought to so many.
(Damn it all.)
He clawed himself out of his own casket, to be found by Talia Al Ghul of all people… then survive the Lazarus Pits in body, with only Pit Madness to show for it?
(It was a callous way to think about it, but Jazz knew that it had also given him his freedom in many ways, that Jason wouldn’t have if he was still just a Revenant.)
(Did the Al Ghul know what she had found that night in dreary Gotham?)
(Was she aware she had given Jason Todd a third chance at life- however much of one being death-claimed by Lady Gotham could be called a life.)
The Lady, wistful once assured in the Regent’s anger having passed, swore an oath that Jason would never be forced to be a Knight again.
(Jazz reveled in the understanding that Batman, Bruce Wayne, was destined to be Gotham Knight for his mortal lifetime- possibly beyond.)
(Had he sworn his fealty by accident in his grief? Or had his donning that ridiculous gimmick been enough of a bind to tie his soul to the Lady?)
(Regardless, for his inaction, Jazz privately reveled in the satisfaction of the true consequences of his choices.)
Jazz, who’d been pacing a strict line in the uneven row of headstones, came to a rest at the grave of the once-Revenant who now lay in her bed.
Jason Todd
He’d been only a year older than her little brother when he’d been murdered by the Joker, buried under a name that was half-complete. He was a Wayne in life, but not in death? How hypocritical of the old bat, to not give him the courtesy of giving him the hyphenated last name if he wasn’t going to bury him in the Wayne cemetery.
What would it have been like if Danny had a grave, complete with a stone and inscription?
(The portal was his grave. He’d died there and the house was his graveyard.)
Would it have been up to Jazz to choose the words to describe her little light, the brightest star in the galaxy, the one reason she had for getting up in the morning… or would her parents have cremated him and put him on a shelf to prevent a corpse from ‘piloting’ his corpse?
(Jazz still had nightmares about Danny’s death scream. The portal ripping him apart in the same moment it fused him back together.)
(Into something different, something more.)
(He was her little brother, the same one who she spent her birthday money on to get those ridiculous glow-in-the-dark stars.)
(They’d spent hours forming constellations on his ceiling.)
How does one paraphrase a life?
Would Jazz start with his name, his preferred name, or with his date of birth?
Would she put down ‘dearest brother’ or ‘missed’, ‘Be at peace’?
No. Jazz knew she’d give the most important pieces of what made her little brother the brightest star in the sky-
Danny, per aspera ad Astra.
Tumblr media
Danny had an unconventional memorial tucked away in the remnants of the Fenton lab, underneath the debris of what was once a strange machine to a world unseen.
The portal was built into the wall with ample access space in the rear for intended maintenance, though it was not required once the portal was completed and functional.
Jazz left flowers for Danny in that maintenance space three days after she first saw his transformation, yellow tulips, though she didn’t know the impact the action would have later in life.
Once a month, Jazz would return to replace the dried flowers, dust away the cobwebs, close the door, rinse and repeat.
Christmas was particularly complicated in the Fenton household, but the first year of Danny’s half-life was the worst Jazz could recall up to that point.
It wasn’t the eerie lack of ghost attacks (thanks to her not knowing of the Truce then), or the winter storm being harsher than any other Amity Park had faced in previous years… No, it was that Danny had died, while nothing and everything changed.
Jack and Maddie still screamed their arguments about Santa Claus, loud and proud for the world to be privy to.
Jazz had extra tutoring to take up for Christmas presents.
Danny… Danny still had to fight a ghost.
Ghostwriter wasn’t a malicious ghost in nature, far from it in fact, but he was never a fan of her little brother.
Jazz overheard Danny tell his friends about his ‘storybook adventure’ and she had to sleep in the access space for the night, just so she didn’t wake anyone with her crying.
It wasn’t right.
That thought repeated on a never-ending loop in her head as she tucked her growing limbs into the cramped space, eyes shut tight and the darkness shrouding her in safety.
(That had been the first nightmare of her own death to come, fingers frantically searching for a pulse as she woke in the dark.)
Perhaps she should have never left that darkness.
Because then the anger that had been building inside of her would never have been unshackled after the release of the tyrant king.
Jazz had been a patient girl her entire life. It was a necessary evil when raised by scientists to follow in their footsteps, though she had no intention to make her life into any imitation of her negligent parents, she learned those lessons at the knee of Maddie Fenton, who had given her life to the pursuit of ecto-science.
(Built a very strange machine to a world unseen.)
When Jazz failed to achieve something, she observed and struck when the opportunity presented it. That’s how she’d survived ghost attacks for so long, escpecially when it was her own dinner- that and the ingrained knowledge to strike hard and quick when it was required. A paradox of a hunter and a hunted, but that was Jasmine Fenton’s upbringing in a nutshell.
Jasmine knew Vladimir Masters was a bigger predator than she was capable of hunting as a young girl.
(Jazz was just a little girl when Vlad became obsessed with her and her mom.)
(Only the dead truly knew what an older man could do to someone so much smaller.)
It was a waiting game that morphed as she grew, bones sturdy and teeth sharper as Ecto-contamination finally settled into her molecules- Death-claimed, Liminality. Vlad was a false halfa, just as he was a false friend to her parents and a false business man, but as long as he stayed out of her way in caring for her little brother than she would not destroy him.
(She was a patient hunter.)
Pariah Dark was the final crack.
(It needed somewhere to go, all that anger, all that rage.)
Jazz had been patrolling the outer limits of the ghost shield now that Amity was returned to the Living Realm, anxiety in her gut as Danny had yet to show from his battle against the tyrant king.
He had obviously won if they were all safe, right? The mech suit would boost him enough, but could it really kill what was already dead?
Hidden in the embrace of familiar shadows, Jazz witnessed Plasmius carrying an unconscious Danny over his shoulder and a…crown in his right hand.
Not only had the bastard released the King for the Crown of Fire, he’d damned them all for the same item he’d stolen in the aftermath.
Jazz’s next actions weren’t borne from Vengeance, they were unfiltered rage.
Tumblr media
Vlad had died that night, Jazz believed wholeheartedly, he died before she locked him in his casket- a since soldered shut Fenton Thermos.
Thing was, Jazz didn’t recall what happened between them- all she could really remember when thinking of that time frame was a green haze that was so similar in color to the damned portal.
One moment, Plasmius had Danny and the Crown. The next, he was a beaten man in his human form with no rise and fall of his chest to convince Jazz he was alive.
Was it concerning? Of course. Jazz never wanted to hurt anyone, especially not in a blackout rage state.
(How times have changed.)
Would she ever mourn Vlad? No. He deserved a far worse fate than a second death.
(His sins were numerous.)
If his casket would later be given to Pandora, the trusted Mentor of the Boy King’s Regent…. Well, where better to keep a body hidden than with a Matriarch who understands the sins of man?
(Pandora had always believed in Jazz, the Regent’s soul was far too bright to be snuffed out without a war.)
Tumblr media
Within the Infinite Realms, the Regent was called many things- titles that held little meaning to the one in question, but offered weight to her authority.
The Lady of the Acropolis, for her mentorship with Pandora and position of respect among the populace.
First Knight of the Star King, would be granted once her Regency was over and Danny was crowned. His epithet as ‘Star King’ was a beautiful homage of a lost dream.
Death-Claimed Champion.
It made the Regent grit her teeth when addressed as such, especially when she lived in Gotham presently- the city of Lady Gotham’s Knights… her Champions.
Jazz had survived to adulthood as a highly contaminated Liminal, no patron to claim as her- Not even Pandora counted even though they shared a teacher/student relationship.
Would Jason, Red Hood of the Alley, be able to handle managing his territory without the backing of a patron claim? The Lady did swear that the once-Revenant was no longer bound to her service, which meant he could pack up his gear forever if he wanted to.
Though that was highly doubtful.
Jason was a strong willed man to lay claim to his haunt so quickly and hold fast for so long. Jazz shared her haunt with Danny, but that was only because he was the powerful Halfa and future King. His Haunt would never be challenged by a competent opponent, not in Gotham at least.
Perhaps Jason would be willing to unite their haunts?
It was a common tradition for older ghosts to allow weaker ones to share their haunt for protection, but that didn’t translate well to the Death-Claimed.
(Jazz had a hunch that Jason was so in tune with his haunt that he instinctively knew when she or Danny stepped foot across his boundary.)
(They tried not to linger, out of respect of another’s haunt of course.)
Then again, Jason was the Baby Liminal between the two of them. Danny and Jazz should be offering him to share a haunt for protection.
(Jazz couldn’t help but wonder what Jason looked like as a child.)
(She would bet almost anything that he was an adorable kid.)
(Would their kids be so cute?)
Tumblr media
There was a slight lilt of sadness that lingered over the daytime hero, Signal, that Danny almost choked on his Death Wish.
The coffee, that is.
Little late on the literal bit.
Gotham (city, not the Lady) was an ever-gloomy fruit basket full of ghastly vibes. You see it and you know you’re in for a bad time, but that’s typically at night.
So what was up with Sunshine Child?
Yeah, he was clearly human and allowed to have off days, duh, but for it to hang like a shroud of storm clouds over Sunny? Yeah, no. That shit needs to be gone, like yesterday.
“Hey, Sunshine!” Danny called out with a false cheer. It was too damn early in the morning for real cheer, are you mad, but Signal didn’t seem to notice as he approached the lawn chair the Halfa had decided would be his new throne.
(At least Jazz would find it funny.)
“Hi Danny. Can I help you with something?”
Danny took a loud sip of his coffee before he went straight for the throat, “You’re doom and gloom this morning, Sunny. Whose bones do I need ‘ta steal?”
“No, no, it’s fine. Just…” the meta Hero trailed off, voice tired as he let himself relax for a moment in Danny’s presence.
(That’s right, Danny’s just a friendly civilian teenager with anger issues, right?)
(Oh he would be cackling at that lie when he had a moment to himself again.)
“My brother is missing.”
Danny blinked.
“Your brother? One of the birdies?” He tried very hard not to pull out any of his jokes about traffic lights and Stabby Robin, but at least he didn’t sound condescending?
“Sorta. Red Hood… he went off grid about a week and a half ago.”
(Yeah this isn’t something Danny should be privy to.)
(Like at all.)
(It’s not like he was housing the guy in his home right?)
(Oh wait.)
“Yikes, Sunny. That sucks, ‘m sorry.”
Signal sighed, “Yeah, thanks Danny.” He paused again, studying the canonical adoption bait that was Danny Fenton before he dropped a bombshell.
“Batman thinks he’s dead.”
(Danny almost cackled in manic glee at that statement.)
(Overshot the mark there, Bats. Yikes.)
Tumblr media
Danny happily waved goodbye to his meta friend, a dorky salute with his coffee cup in commersiation of a shitty hour of the day to be awake, before he leaned back in his lawn chair and yawned.
“Oh, what drama. Jazz is gonna kill me all the way if she finds out.” He said out loud to no one in particular. The occasional shade that kept him company didn’t bother to move at the sound of his voice now that Signal had left, but it did let out a mournful trill that made Dannny chuckle.
“Yeah, yep, you’re right- when, when, Jazz finds out.” Danny laughed again, “Worth it.”
Tumblr media
A/N:
Yeah, I wasn't expecting so much angst either, but apparently, that's my jam, because I literally cannot write anything else. Well, anything that doesn't sound like two robots trying to mimic humans at least.
This was supposed to be a more upbeat entry and look how epically I failed. I had to put a content warning up top because I wrote/heavily implied that Jazz was abused by Vlad due to his obsession with Maddie.
In other news, I have a playlist now for what songs I listen to while writing this. It's called 'Guns & Sword: Jazz on' 'cause 2am me thinks she's clever.

DP AU/prompt where Frostbite raises young Dan.
Danny’s lost everything, with his humanity being the most recent of those losses. He’s also gained a significant imbalance in his core through merging with Plasmius.
An ice core and a fire core merging makes for a very chaotic, emotionally-unstable ghost-- unaided by the trauma that Dan has suffered leading up to this drastic change in his physiology.
Somehow-- perhaps by Clockwork’s guiding hand, or by Dan wandering to the Far Frozen while lost in a spiral-- Dan winds up in Frostbites care.
The two are often at odds, with Danny hardly able to control the fire within. He often lashes out and Frostbite has been burned before trying to help him learn to balance the conflicting elements in his core.
Regardless of how many times he is burned, Frostbite is nothing if not patient.
And Dan, having lost everyone and everything he once cared about, can’t help but marvel at someone still willing to put their faith in him.

DPxDC AU - A Bird in Amity
DPxDC AU (can be Phantom Twin AU or not) where when Jason was thrown into the pit, shenanigans happened & instead of surfacing in Nanda Parbat, he found himself coming out of the Lazarus Pit hidden in Amity Park. It can be found in Silent Hill Park, at the bottom of Cauldron Lake.
He surfaces & is found by the Fenton family, who take him in & even get him into Casper. (Lancer is his favorite teacher. Loves that he swears in book titles.) This is at the beginning of the DP timeline, so not much has happened yet.
He rapidly realizes that the Fenton parents are actually pretty negligent despite their obvious love for their children & this begins to instill in him a latent desire to care for others that he may or may not have inherited from Bruce & would've ordinarily been resistant to. Specifically towards the younger members of the Phantom Team & especially Danny (& Dina).
At first, he's wary of everything, but eventually he comes around. Danny (& Dina) weird him out though in the beginning & the feeling is mutual. They can just sense that there's something odd about each other.
The Pit Madness doesn't really get time to fully develop due to living in a place with a constant influx of raw, ambient ectoplasm. Rather, all the corrupted, dark magic-infused ecto-gunk in his system gets filtered out quickly & replaced with healthy ectoplasm. Sure, there were instances of the Pit Rage bubbling up every once in a while, but it sort of puttered out after a while, especially with Jazz's help. Who he may or may not have a crush on.
He's quick to figure out that Danny (& Dina) are heroes & is surprised to learn that he is (they are) basically all that's keeping Amity afloat & elects himself to help the kid(s) & teach him (them) & the rest of Team Phantom the ropes. It's a shock to the entire team that they apparently have Robin on their side. Everyone is wary of his involvement & it takes some time to get used to it.
They eventually learn that he's becoming something of a very low ratio halfa (meaning that he'll eventually develop both an Obsession & a Fixation) & even begins to develop low-grade powers. Things like advanced healing, increased strength, speed, & flexibility, intangibility every once in a while (like, he can't use it willynilly), the ability to actually grab & hit ghosts, night vision, able to walk silently, even the power to see the regular, non-GZ DC ghosts like Deadman & the Gentlemen Ghost. Isn't able to turn invisible on occassion, but he is able to affect people's perception of him similarly to ghosts at any time. So, he can manipulate not only a person's sense of object permanence when in regards to himself, but he can also make himself unnoticeable. This is called Spectral Acknowledgement. Like, he can basically do what the Chameleon Circuit does. Like this:
However, because he's not a true halfa (or, at least, not a very good ratio of one), his anti-gravity center isn't fully developed, so he can really only glide & slow his falling. Just stuff that gives him an edge & a few benefits, while not taking away from his fighting style.
I see him having a hot core with an electric primary & either a fire or shadow secondary. It's nothing like lightningbending or firebending. He can only really coat himself with his element to give his punches more oomf. Though, I'm sure that Danny could make weapons that could channel the elements into them.
Either way, he's got Shocking Grasp & can probably use them as built-in defibs.
In the case of him having a shadow element, then it's not full umbrakinesis as he can only really control his own shadow.
Imagine him able to make it move like Dr. Familiar.
He can make his shadow touch other shadows, which affects the original. So, he can use his shadow to choke out someone else.
In a dark enough area, his shadow would be completely unnoticeable.
As mentioned before, he can coat himself in his shadow, giving him this sort of black flame armor that both protects him & makes his hits stronger.
Jason can Shadow Walk.
Like, Jason just merges into his own shadow, then hides in another shadow so he's completely camouflaged. I bet that even Supes wouldn't know he was near when approached if he was in a dark enough area.
In such cases, he's able to attack or outright kill someone's shadow, thus doing the same thing to the person themselves. And since Superman's powers don't apply to his shadow, it'd actually be very possible for Jason to just outright kill him in the right situation. Not that he'd ever choose to do so, but the option is there regardless.
Imagine it works a little like the bracelet from Link Between Worlds, but it connects to the shadow lands or something!
At the same time, the reason why he'd make his shadow attack someone while he, himself, is in the physical world would be for situations where he was spotted before he could Shadow Walk & so Jason physically distracts his target while his shadow goes behind them & knocks them out.
While Shadow Walking, he can also 'jump' between shadows. Like, from shadow to shadow?
Though, the weakness to this is that bright enough lights can dissipate his shadow.
There's also his Death Echo Power. I'm thinking napalm tears as he died crying in an explosion.
Either way, the best thing is, he's in the right place to better understand these new powers.
Jason has mixed & complicated feelings about Bruce, so he refrains from asking to go home until he sorts everything out. Then, he hears that there's a new Robin & the fact that Joker's still around & it all goes south. The Fenton kids do everything to be there for him, but he's just angry & feels betrayed. Though, not as vitriolically so as in canon. At least, not to such a degree that he wants to take it out on everyone he feels who betrayed him without evidence. It allows him to acknowledge the underlying hurt beneath the anger better.
It's actually because of Jazz that he's eventually able to realize that it isn't the new Robin's fault. However, he can't help how angry he is at Bruce.
Either way, because of the fact that Danny is still the only real defense Amity has against ghosts, Jay doesn't feel able to exact his revenge on Bruce & the Joker yet. But when he does, he has the whole of Team Phantom on his side.
Unlike in canon, Jason learns about how each of his old family reacted to his death. Not only does he learn that Dick had been so angry that he actually killed the Joker in revenge for Jay's death, but also that Bruce revived the bastard afterwards in some twisted attempt to keep Dick's conscience clean.
As a result, he actually patches things up with Dick pretty quickly, but on the other end of the scale, his relationship with Bruce is even worse than in canon. Which is saying something!
Jazz tries to remind him that it's likely due to Bruce's trauma from watching his parents get killed, but the thing is, Jason is not only ecto-liminal, he actually died & came back, which gives him a halfa-like connection to death. Unlike Jazz, who has yet to die herself &, as such, can still be considered human despite being fully ecto-liminal.
See, as per a really great hc I read, a ghost's killer is a source of a great deal of trauma for ghosts. So, if their killer is killed, or at least rendered incapable of causing further harm, it lifts a tremendous weight from that ghost's shoulders & will help them to better regulate their emotions & Obsession.
For more, look here:
So, for Jay to learn that Dick had killed his killer & that the world was so close to being Joker-free until Bruce decided to be a big damn hero...
So. Much. ANGER!!
Like, his relationship with Dick is gonna be great, but Bruce?
Man, his motivations might've been selfless, but they do say that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions...
I love Brucie boy, but he chose wrong this time.
---
Interesting thing, when Jay does go back to Gotham, he becomes the Cardinal rather than Red Hood.
There is this superstition that when you see a cardinal, it means that a dead loved one has come to visit. Such is the case with Jason.
A very angry, aggressive cardinal...
I'm not sure what his costume would look like other than having red in it & a biker jacket with Danny's logo on the shoulders.
Also, the All-Blades are a motherfucking must!
One change to them, though. They don't only appear in the presence of pure evil & also work on paranormal beings such as ghosts. They are, however, only deadly to those who are evil. They can hurt those who aren't, but can't kill them.
