daniel is a fan-favourite wag-- or like, as much of a fan favourite as you can be while still being a wag (there will always be strange haters). he's a bit weirded out by it all at first, the attention for literally just seeing a guy (and max is, definitely in all ways just some guy) but daniel is also a bit of a peacock in every universe, so OBVIOUSLY thrives off of this

daniel loves those wag fashion accounts he finds them so funny but also likes to be helpful-- sometimes when he sees that they've gone hat: unknown, he'll reach out and be like hey bought my hat from (x brand) btw!

he likes posting max, making tiktoks with him etc. not just in big ways but subtle ones too (think: lily muni he's brillll socials presence) and like... daniel understands marketing and the importance of image and sure, it's not like this is some kind of PR relationship, or that he's shelling out their life for content but... he's always liked documenting!!

daniel makes his .jpg acc in this verse and it blows up, obviously, he just gets along with everyone really well and at this point its like, 2-3 years into their relationship so he's been in the paddock a ton now and just hung out with drivers/their wags in a normal way. so he CAN just go up to valtteri (who they see a lot if they're all in melbs/aus) and be like LOL CHEESE! (everyone finds it rlly funny when he gets in 'trouble' then has to put that 'licensed photographer' sticker on his camera from the f1 officials) daniel changes his bio to say an official f1 photographer 📷 for shits and giggles

the first time he gets interviewed in the paddock he doesn't even remember what he says-- totally blanks out and just rambles because he's already nervous and oh god totally not pr trained and-- gah! he's sure it's a weird rambling mess! except then he catches up to max later and max is like "so i heard you were off being famous!" and daniels like urghh no don't make fun of me, and max is like what? no you were rlly great apparently! very impressive. and daniels like oh.... oh okay :)

max and daniel do NOT do soft launching-- they literally go on a few dates fall very hard and fast in love and then daniel is being hard posted on max's ig bc he does not do social conventions like that lmfao. max is very like but im dating you... so im going to post our photos together. obviously. and daniels like oh but the mystery! the intrigue! max finds it rlly funny.

they do dinner at the horners pretty often-- daniel always says he feels like some kind of real housewife, which max finds hilarious, and they get very VERY drunk on their expensive gins.

If it's not too much trouble, do you have headcanons for Kotoko/Monaka? I like to imagine post-canon they work out their issues with each other and get to a much healthier place, like, when they're teenagers. I related a lot to Kokoto's toxic relationship with Monaka, I definitely had relationships like that when I was in elementary school too. It's kind of nice to imagine a world where - whether romantically or platonically - they work out their issues and work out, even if that might not be exactly realistic, aha...

Oh MAN do I have post-canon Warriors of Hope headcanons. I really do love imagining these kids and the lives they lead when they come of age.

I try not to use read mores, but this one got way longer than the usual headcanon posts, and it very much is less "Kotoko/Monaca headcanons" and more "elaborate set-up for how Kotoko and Monaca feel about their crimes as teenagers." So more under the cut I guess!

Firstly, some setup. I love adoptive family relationships, and especially mother/child adoptive relationships. So of course I love daydreaming about Aoi "Bleeding Heart" Asahina adopting Kotoko, and it becoming a Kyoko (or Miaya!)/Hina-parenting-Kotoko, friends-to-moms slowburn. SOMEONE'S adopting these children, and it's not Komaru "I Just Spent A Full Year In Solitary Isolation (:" or the "We Taser Ourselves To Decide Whether The Serial Killer Fronts (:" Fukawas. Hina's upbeat, she keeps it light, and unlike Makoto "Spotless" Naegi, she understands the guilt of attempting/committing mass murder. Kyoko isn't quite any of that but deep in my heart. Through The Power Of Love And Elaborate Metaphors About Her Relationship To Her Father

And I mean. I'm going to be honest. Monaca's, like, 10. She spends three days in space before she goes 1. Wow this sucks 2. I did not in fact prepare enough materials to live like this indefinitely. I'm like 10. I packed enough for about 13 hours and thought I was good Forever. I need more marshmallows.

So it takes Monaca all of half a week to admit her failures and crash land somewhere on earth. The island with the Remnants? Misaki and Takumi? In-universe versions of the V3 students as adults? Personally I'm a fan of Yasuhiro and Kanon adopting her in the world's absolute weirdest fantasy. What matters is SOMEONE finds her. And we get Mod Loves Sappy Adoptive Relationships V2: Now With The Green One.

Because listen. Listen. These are kids. They have committed heinous, unforgivable crimes of extreme ethical concern, and they are also ten years old. Their only frame of ethical reference is a manipulator and abuser so good at what she does that she ended the world. People generally remember this with the other Warriors, but they almost always set it aside for Monaca, so I want to be clear: Monaca Towa is redeemable. Because she was 10 years old, and the moment she was out from under the thumb of the people who taught her how to do these cruel and unusual things, her first plan was Run Away To Space To Escape The Things That Have Happened Here. They're children.

THAT MEANS A LOT OF GUILT. NO ONE HAS EVER NOT BECOME A PUDDLE OF REGRET ABOUT SOMETHING THEY DID IN MIDDLE SCHOOL.

In general, I actually think Kotoko struggles with guilt the least amongst the Warriors. Firstly, I think having a parent who understands and can help her come to grips with what she's done from a very personal place really helps her work through it. But I also think Kotoko is low-empathy in general. I think eventually, she comes to understand intellectually what she's done wrong, but I don't think she ever struggles with the idea that she shouldn't have done it. I think she would be very practical about the circumstances that she was in, and in her mind, well. What else was she supposed to do? She'd been abused all her life. She was up against Junko Enoshima. Obviously what she did was wrong, but any other kid in that situation would've, in Kotoko's mind, done the same.

On the other hand, I believe Monaca would get hit with guilt very intensely once she finally processed everything she'd been through at high-school age, but that she would absolutely keep that under wraps and act as though it was meaningless to her.

Monaca is, in my opinion, a compulsive liar. You can see that in a lot of canonical ways, but I choose to extend it a bit to headcanons - it's not that she Doesn't need a wheelchair, it's that she has days when she needs it and days when she doesn't, and pretending she never needed it at all gives people a huge shock. She didn't plan to not kill herself with the rest of the Warriors as a prank; she really planned to do it, but people look at her when she says that. It's a defensive mechanism, and a method of feeling in control. At least I can choose for them to hate me by lying and being terrible, instead of being hated when I haven't done anything.

So I think, when she is finally faced with the enormity of what she has done, Monaca does what her first instinct is always to do: runs away from it and lies herself into culpability. Of course I killed all those terrible adults, and now that I'm almost their age, I'll just die instead of becoming one of them! That sort of thing. I think she traps herself into her own persona, no matter how hard she tries to improve, because Monaca is a child who internalizes until she breaks.

So when Kotoko and Monaca meet coincidentally at high-school age. Ho boy. Kotoko who still sort-of blames Monaca who blames herself, and neither of them completely aware of how to comfort a person or how to hate a person in a way that isn't lethal...oh the GROWTH. Soniru Thoughts

I don't particularly ship these two romantically per se, but I do have a thing for them in mind. I love the idea of Sonia pecking Mahiru's cheeks as a greeting. Could be that she does the same to others, but I personally like the idea of Sonia doing the same to others she's fairly close and comfortable with and if they don't mind it. Mahiru would be embarrassed with the idea at first, but would slowly grow used to it overtime. She wouldn't find it a problem at all. It's all just part of Sonia's culture - that would be Mahiru's mindset. I have absolutely daydreamt about Sonia really enjoying it to the point where she becomes bolder into pecking Mahiru's lips, almost on impulse. It could work platonically or romantically~! And again, depends on how Mahiru feels about Sonia, too, haha. It's quite a fun dynamic. I have thought about Sonia having a secret crush on Mahiru and adoring it whenever she gets the chance to interact with her. Honestly, I think the fun thing about Soniru is that - like I said - it can work both platonically and romantically, which is rare for me, since I tend to prefer one thing over the other, but I genuinely love it going both ways - it's the same for MahiPeko, too! Though, that's most likely influenced by a fic of mine. Overall, it's just funny to think about the reactions they'd get once they both grow accustomed to the kissing. Sonia: "Mahiru~!" Sonia gently clasps Mahiru's wrists into her palms. Sonia: "Good morning~!" Mahiru, unfazed: "Oh, good morning, Sonia." Teruteru: "Well, well, well, would you look at that~?" Ibuki: "Welcome to the world of yuri~! It gets slippery when wet and Ibuki knows it!" Chisa: "Ah, this is what you call young love~!" Mahiru, embarrassed: "W-wait, I think you've all got the wrong idea." Fuyuhiko: "Eh? What, you sayin' you ain't together?" Mahiru and Sonia glance over at one another and back at Fuyuhiko. Sonia: "We're just friends." It's just a rough example. I didn't really think it out all that much, to be honest, haha. But still, my point still stands. I do wonder how Kazuichi would feel. Anyways, as for my MahiSumiSatoPeko enthusiasm - well, I wonder how their jealousy and desire to do the same would take it. Activate that overprotectiveness, Sato and Natsumi! As for Peko, perhaps she unintentionally comes off as intimidating when she stares at Mahiru and Sonia being so close together...? Sonia would probably get the wrong idea and may feel like she should back off, or just brushes it off. Not sure if she's the confrontational type. I don't really focus much on Sonia, now that I mention it. Moving on, Soniru is an entertaining dynamic that I'd love to explore more thoroughly sometime!

My headcanon in the post-DR3 world

I'm preparing a short manga for Nagito's birthday, but I thought it might not make sense without my headcanon explanation, so I put it together here.

*I set this post to reblog prohibit because this is basically an explanation of my manga.

*This post is already a bit long, but I actually have a lot more headcanons, so maybe I'll add some of them from time to time.

⚠️Contains Spoilers!

■ The situation of Hinata and Class 77-B after the DR3 Hope Arc:

Hinata and Class 77-B (from now on, I will be writing Hinata's team) are set up as a separate organization from the Future Foundation, traveling around the world by ship to eliminate the remnants of despair and restore the world. (This means everyone did not return to Jabberwock Island, but continued their journey directly on the ship they used to leave Jabberwock Island).

The reason they did not return to Jabberwock Island is because it is land owned by the Future Foundation. Since the killing spree at the Future Foundation was allegedly masterminded by Hinata's team, they cannot return there.

However, the world is not an environment in which they can live without the support of the Future Foundation, so they are actually connected to members like Naegi and others who know the truth.

Naegi and his team have the critical project of rebuilding Hope's Peak Academy, so they basically stay in Japan most of the time and cannot immediately address problems that occur outside of Japan. Therefore, Hinata's team mainly deal with problems outside of Japan. (Basically, they communicate with each other through telecommunications using a specially prepared line.)

Basically, Hajime Hinata's presence is kept secret (not strictly, but the people around him realize that it would be better if he did not appear in public as much as possible), so once Hinata's team have temporarily dealt with the problem, they will leave the area and the Future Foundation will take care of the follow-up. (The Future Foundation employees who do not know the truth simply perceive that another unit of their organization took care of the problem before them. They do not know that it was Hinata's team who took care of it.)

■ Additional information about post-3 Hajime Hinata:

He made two promises to everyone on his team.

Not using Izuru Kamukura's talents against teammates. Because he could control the will of his teammates if he wanted to, so he promises not to use Kamukura's talents against his teammates except in emergency situations, whether good or bad.

Never be alone. (Always be with someone.) He can use Kamukura's talents, but between after SDR2 and the 3rd Hope Arc, he used his talents so much that he once became "void" as a result of overusing his talents. The state called “void" is also one of my head canons. This occurs as a reaction to overworking his brain. Once this happens, all of his senses will be shut down for a while, and he won't be able to move at all. Recovery time varies from case to case, but usually ranges from 3 to 7 days. The heart and other minimal organs will still work, but he will not be able to eat or do anything else, so he will die if he has no way to eat and excrete. To prevent him from getting into this very dangerous situation, he cannot use his talents excessively, and people around him do not allow it, and this rule was put in place to deal with him in case he becomes void. To enforce this rule, Komaeda accompanies Hinata as a watcher; when Hinata is in his room, the Observer AI (Chiaki Nanami) watches Hinata.

■ Post-3 Nagito Komaeda:

He is supposed to be Hajime's watcher, so his role is basically to be at Hajime's side. The reason he was put in the role of watching over Hinata was because Hinata's teammates thought he would have a high chance of survival even in a critical situation thanks to his talent. Another reason is the problem of not being able to deal with anyone but Hinata.

The only thing he has to do is to make sure that Hinata is not left alone, so he may not be with Hinata if someone else accompanies him.

■ Observer AI (Chiaki Nanami) :

After Hajime awoke from the NWP, he used one of Kamukura's talents, the Ultimate Programmer talent, to restore the NWP's Observer AI, because as a result of using Kamukura's talents to predict the future, he found that he alone would not be able to do enough to take care of his returning friends. The restored Observer AI provided mental care for those who returned. After everyone's mental health was restored to some degree, she remained aboard the ship as one of the companions. (One of her roles is to monitor Hinata during bedtime.)

■ Izuru Kamukura:

In my headcanon, his ego exists as a separate entity from Hajime Hinata even in post-3, but it basically does not appear on the surface. He may appear on the surface when needed, but almost never, as it would cause Hinata's brain to become overloaded.

Hinata can talk to him. Technically speaking, it can only predict what Kamukura is likely to say using Kamukura's talents. However, the accuracy of the predictions is so high that the results are equivalent to having a conversation with Kamukura. Due to this fact, Hinata will get tired if he talks to Kamukura a lot.

Headcanon: Kaede is part of the Kuzuryu family, with Natsumi being her younger twin, their birthdays are one after another (march 26th and 27th), and they have a similar appearance, and I think this would further Natsumi's 'Ultimate Little Sister' idea as well as her inferiority complex. Reason Kaede has a different last name? She wanted to distance herself from the Yakuza, she uses their mother's maiden name!

my hc is that lando calls daniel every diminutive of his name depending on how he’s feeling in the moment, but when they’re in bed it’s strictly danny bc daniel really gets off on that. like how can he say no to lando whimpering “danny” and “please” in the same sentence - that combo literally brings him to his knees and lando knows it 😈

omfg love this!!!

everyone knows you go on reality dating shows for the pr, and to get your name out there, EVERYONE. max, is not actually a contestant, he's an assistant reality director - which is a fancy word for someone who tells people where to be and only kind of what to say. he really wants to break into movies and producing and directign, but this is the strongest avenue he's got, even if he hates it. daniel's a contestant, and he's banking heavily on that australian charm, which to be fair, does work. audiences love him, he says g'day, etc. max doesn't think he will get along with any of these, to him, vapid buff hot 20 somethings

him and the other writers agree that daniel is definitely going to make it in the show, so they have to start constructing a compelling storyline from him. this means max pulling him aside for heartstring pulling interviews about leaving his family in australia to pursue acting, how difficult its been not being able to see them, how he's just looking for the one. max is feeding him lines occasionally, and he puts his weird feelings down to a purely physical crush on a guy who is being paid to be hot

at one point daniel starts talking about how inauthentic he feels the process is and max rolls his eyes and says something mean about why he's here in the first place then, and daniel with a remarkable amount of insight compares their two situations - desperately fighting for a 1% chance at making it. max is mollified.

daniel gets along well with almost all the contestants, and max again, studiously ignores the weird feeling he gets when charles and daniel are flirting (they are a power couple for the audience, charles is very good at pulling off batting-eyelashes-naive-stupid and daniel pokes fun at him in a nice way.) they do set up a plotline for them to be alone on one of the dinner nights, but instead of confessing any feelings, daniel starts talking about this guy (?!!??! wrench in the plans) that he likes and charles is nodding along and being very sympathetic and nice and they hug (people do go crazy for it on twitter but definitely not in the way the production team is wanting. seeing brotp next to their couples tag means the drawing board gets scrapped)

a lot of things happen too much for five bullet points but basically daniel sabotages himself from being very much in the lead and max catches him after the main bulk of the shoot and is like what are you doing partly because it's really annoying now they had the confessions and everything planned for the next coming days and daniels messed all that up but ALSO because max knows him now, properly, and knows what the money would do for him, he's been seeing his instagram blow up more and more by the day and- he never thought he'd be rooting for anyone but he is rooting for daniel and he takes maxs hands and says listen, if i won, i'd have to date george for a bit otherwise i'd look like a complete dick, and i'd be fine with doing it but the thing is max i'd be thinking about you. and max is like ??!?!?!!??! because he isn't stupid he knows that he's had feelings for daniel for a good bulk of this process now but he just thought maybe that's how daniel was because his job WAS to flirt with the islanders and maybe he just was that way to his friends, and then they get together and at some point daniel posts max to his instagram and somebody digs up max's imdb and posts a photo of his production credits for love island and it's a bit of a moment

bonus: lewis is the production director and does on purpose schedule max to assist daniel a lot of the time. also he himself is trying to woo director of cinematography (if you can call it cinematography) seb. background plot.

can i have some enogiri headcanon?

Enogiri is a ship I always have to think hard about making headcanons for, because unless prompted, I always think about them less in the sense of "a potential relationship with two fully realized characters" and more "I have dropped these two lab rats in a contained area and occasionally throw in a murder implement to see how they react (it's with murder)"

While I don't really subscribe to the idea that Licorne is Junko in disguise, I do think the contrast between Licorne and Kyoko's methods for solving mysteries really highlights some potentially interesting things about the Junko/Kyoko dynamic. Not just Kyoko but detectives in general investigate a crime after the fact, looking into the past. On the other hand, Licorne's detective style of predicting crimes before they occur and Junko's Ultimate Analyst ability are both directed very squarely towards the future, to the point of being almost supernaturally predictive. That contrast slots exactly into their roles in THH by nature of being support/antagonist of a mystery game, with Kyoko taking the lead on discovering what happened in the school vs Junko pushing the students to instead think about how to get out in the future. It's a narrative thread I think you can really futz with.

(Medical horror TW)I think when Kyoko said "what have you done with my body," she was not just talking about amnesia. Junko used Mikan to perform real, invasive surgery while she was unconscious, potentially leaving her with only partially functional use of a limb or with only one lung. Partially it would limit Kyoko's ability to do the athleticism for some of her more intense detective work (thus why we never see her imitating Yui's Six Foot Vertical Leaps). But mostly? I think Junko would just think it's funny. Watching Kyoko despair over sudden chronic pain is exactly the sort of shits and giggles that gets Junko off. She would keep the lung in her control room to fondly look upon. No one is doing toxic yuri quite like Junko Enoshima.

These two absolutely make each other worse, BTW. There's no world where Kyoko and Junko save each other unless a third party is also involved, and even then, it's more likely that anyone they bring in to help will just be dragged down alongside them. Junko makes love notes using entrails and sends Kyoko gifts in the form of tongues she's ripped from her victims' mouths. Kyoko is more interested in investigating why she picked this victim and how exactly she destroyed them than in stopping her from killing the next. They encourage each others worst, most gorey instincts. Sometimes you need a f/f ship where one of them canonically gouges someone's eyes out with a spoon, y'know?

I see where this is going.

I still love you, Chisa.

I think my main issue is that this doesn't really jive with pre-established DR0 canon. You could make a case for meshing them together - very easily - but like.

It's frustrating to have gotten that glimpse of Yasuke but there is no actual Yasuke/Junko interactions in this at all. It feels like it's ignoring all of that, and that's...that's important to Junko characterization.

Ryoko is important to Junko characterization.

And like - it's hard to grapple with all of this, because in the end, this is also not really about Junko - and it's not really about Makoto etc. either.

They're here to support the Chisa/Munakata story. Chisa and Munakata are the heart of this story. Everything else happens around them.

In that context, this isn't a bad show. It's giving us background and depth on a lot of characters and showing us a lot of how FF runs and who runs it and etc. All of which is good to know!

But it's using characters we already know and love as ancillary pieces to something else entirely, which. I like less? Ish?

And it also does it by adding plot holes.

Unless this gets cleared up in the last two Despair Arc episodes - Munakata knows that Junko's responsible. He knows. So does Sakukura or however his name is spelled. There is NO WAY she should have been locked in the old building and chosen as one of the people to stay with Class 78.

That said.

Munukata killed Sakukura for a very clear reason, and Sakukura is the one who is facing Junko right now, not Munukata, which means Junko could use clearly brainwashed Chisa as blackmail to keep Sakukura from etc. which would lead Munukata to be fine with killing him which would fix that plot hole.

Roughly.

But.

If the brainwashing video Junko only just finished with Ryota's help is the one that brainwashed all the Reserve Course students - they only just finished that? How did she get that to all of them that quickly? And this doesn't make sense with DR0 established canon where that brainwashing was happening while she was Ryoko?

Like.

Stuff doesn't add up.

I don't like stuff not adding up.

I don't like that it doesn't feel like it fits with DR0 while clearly making reference to it by PUTTING YASUKE IN A SCENE AND SHOWING HIM TO US AND THEN DOING NOTHING WITH THAT.

And like! That's not bad! DR3 can be its own thing without DR0! Alternate versions of canon exist! Like the newest TWEWY game apparently follows the anime adaptation of the original game instead of the original game! That's fine!

But don't show me Yasuke and Yuta as a way of implying that DR0 is still canon while having it very clearly not be canon!

I'm frustrated.

(But still enjoying the show! It's like DSMOM, I guess. I enjoy DSMOM! It is probably my favorite Marvel movie! (Top three, easy.) But that doesn't mean it's consistent with pre-established canon.)

That said. If you come in with just the first anime - or if you come in with just the games - this might be fine. I would probably not be frustrated if I didn't read DR0.

But I did.

So I'm frustrated. XD
