Good morning and happy halloween! Managed to finish my costume just in time, based on a horsefly Tabanus atratus! Aptly chosen species because I wanted to work with foam and having it be all black was the easy route.

I thought the foam was going to be intimidating because I was nervous about pieces having to fit together perfectly but it turned out just fine! Trial and error and trimming as needed. The mouthpiece is hollow, and the striped in the eyes have mesh over it, so visibility and ventilation is not bad at all! Only caveat to this build is that the headband inside keeps slipping forward, so I have to wear my hoodie to keep it in place, and unfortunately it gets really hot.

Incredibly happy with how it turned out, especially the head shape and overall silhouette. Here’s the real bug for comparison:

Ended up not having enough time or foam for the extra arms, but that might be something I would like to add later.

2023 and 2022 art summaries! Last year I started coloring figure drawings and I’m happy to see I’ve gotten more creative with it this year. Something completely new I tried was painting with ink at a live model figure drawing session! In general, I drew more beyond just figure drawings and homework assignments and I hope to keep up a good balance, draw things I’ve never drawn before, improve with both color and black/white, and make more original and fan work, as always! I have projects and courses I’m looking forward to in 2024, but my overall goal is just to draw consistently and see what I make. Happy New Year! 🌟🐉

While it’s a general rule that couples costumes are reserved for Steve and Robin, occasionally the trio will do Star Wars: Eddie as Han and Steve and Robin interchanging between Luke and Leia.

The first time is Halloween 1986, Robin and Dustin both fed up with the pair dancing around each other. Robin convinces Steve to dress as the twins, and Dustin convinces Eddie to dress as Han—not that it took much convincing. Something something Steve says something about how he always thought Luke and Han had a thing. The two end up making out by the end of the night. Dustin is both relieved they got their shit together but scarred by walking in on his parents making out.

Another time they do it they decide to go as “the one with the Teddy Bears” because it’s Steve’s favorite. Steve is a little annoyed that he didn’t get to be Chanel boots Luke Skywalker, but is grateful Robin convinced him to dress as Huttslayer Leia. Dustin ends up even more scarred than before.

this is such a solid show so far, i dont even know what to say. episodes feel long, but they're not boring. they're lingering, they last. it takes everyday emotions and everyday experiences and lets them play out; it confers importance to the small things. the story and overall plot-per-ep is simple yet genuine, and everything and every character feels so lived-in. i like the mix of fun and serious, i like the steady growth and trust between mork and day and the little buds of tension starting to bloom. i love the way the camera brings things to the forefront of the viewer's attention, the way expressions are shot and how long those shots are allowed to last on screen...you really feel the emotion coming through, and it really impresses me from both an acting and directing standpoint.....im just rambling but the jist of it is that i'm really enjoying this

MAN! #last twilight #jimmy and sea are really selling it and so is everyone in the supporting cast #it all feels very entangled while still giving the most focus to the mains -you really see the story from their perspectives #IM. IM ALMOST MAD ABOUT IT P'AOF MAKES THIS SHIT LOOK EASY
