I realise you're HE, but any thoughts on how high school level education should be run/changed/etc? I'd love to know your views!

Oh sure, plenty, but they're not particularly informed lol

Well; Wales is actually massively and fundamentally changing secondary education atm, but we won't be getting students from it until the year after next, I think, so no real comment on effectiveness yet - but it's very interesting. They're getting rid of isolated subjects in favour of broad umbrella areas, as I understand it? So there's now Science and Technology (Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computing, and all the various DT subjects like Woodwork, Electronics, Cookery, etc), Maths and Numeracy, Humanities (History, Geography, Ethics, Religion), Languages Literacy and Communication, and Health and Wellbeing (actually maybe Cookery comes under this one now? Dunno.) And there's a sixth to do with arts but I can't remember what it's called. But it includes Art, Drama, Media Studies, etc.

And then the idea is that a class will learn about a given topic at a time (I don't know for how long, so let's say six weeks), and this will be taught in each of those six umbrellas but via their own methods. So like... I dunno, let's say the Tudors:

That's fairly straightforward for Humanities, but in addition to giving you the historical facts you'd also explore historic trade routes and natural resources of the time and how they related to the politics (geography), the religious make up of the country and how THAT related to the politics (religion), etc.

Maths and Numeracy might explore how to use statistics to analyse Tudor era population or trade data.

Science and Tech could look at disease outbreaks and virology, or technological advancements and how they worked and get students to build one, or get students to construct a Tudor-era town using computer software

Languages can study plays from the era (Shakespeare), look at linguistic development, or use historical events as talking points to practice using vocab in conversations

Health and Wellbeing can explore stressors and challenges of the average Medieval peasant and how they overcame them, or play some popular Tudor sport or game, or make food to Tudor recipes, etc

The Arts one (god I cannot remember the name) can look at art history of the period, fashions, perform plays, etc

So everyone is still teaching the skills and knowledge of their subject areas, they're just united by one big case study. It apparently allows for far more integrated teaching, too, where two previously discrete subjects can join forces on a project.

All of which seems pretty good, on the whole, but also rife with issues if everyone isn't careful, so we'll see how it shakes out over the next few years.

From my own experiences of school though. Jesus. Something definitely needed to happen, fuck me.

What I should have learned in Textiles:

How to use a sewing machine

How to sew by hand to mend a tear

How to darn a hole

How to hem, dart, take in, and let out clothes

How to sew from a pattern

What I actually learned in Textiles:

How to use a sewing machine on its most basic setting

How to phone in creating a hand puppet out of felt because gluing was easier than sewing

How to badly sew an extremely makeshift and shit bag out of scrap fabric that you in no way want to then use

How to lose all interest in Textiles because it was useless and uninteresting

Like that is a VITAL skillset-imparting subject, and they fucked it, lads, they completely fucked it. Why did they never set us the task of buying a cheap shirt from a charity shop that we then amended in class? That would have been so useful.

Games and PE! Fucking hell! Here's what I should have learned:

How to stretch my body safely to target specific muscle groups, and in particular, how to cultivate a daily stretching routine I enjoyed and wanted to do

How to find a physical activity active enough to get me out of breath that I genuinely enjoyed, so that I wanted to continue it, e.g. salsa dancing or rope climbing or ice skating or hill climbing or assault courses or fucking anything at all

How to build my body up to doing particular activities safely and sustainably

How to find a physical activity to do on wet, cold, rainy days that would still be fun and I would still enjoy

Here's what I actually learned:

Physical activity is always uncomfortable and miserable and sometimes even painful

If you aren't enjoying running around in the wind and rain instead of the indoor gym The Problem Is You. Start Enjoying It.

Wanting to stay warm and dry and comfortable is a punishable choice.

You are only permitted to do physical activity in clothes that make you feel profoundly exposed and uncomfortable (a gym skirt and gym knickers in my school. Cycling shorts got you detention. Don't get me started on jogging bottoms.) Again, if you do not enjoy this, The Problem Is You. Start Enjoying It.

There are only three activity options. If you don't enjoy any of them, physical activity is not for you.

You should be able to Just Do physical exercise, without any training to build you up to it. If you can't and it hurts, this is because you're Bad At PE.

You will only be shown Once

Physical activity is only ever a team sport that you aren't good enough to be willingly picked for

LIKE WHAT THE FUCK

And you know what, LET'S round off with Food Technology/Cookery. Because I remember the things I was asked to make in FT. As a little baby Year 7, I still vividly remember two of the things we made.

Angel Delight. Easy, you might say! A simple treat, you might think! Easing the children into food prep, I hear you cry! But no, because the theme of the year was healthy eating, and so we were to add fruit to our Angel Delight. Any flavour Angel Delight, any fruit. Off you go. I don't know if any of you have encountered fruit, Tumblrs, but it famously has faintly acidic juice. This will prevent the Angel Delight from setting within the one hour lesson, no matter how well you mixed the pudding, or how quickly you got it into the fridge. It will result in soggy gross lumps of oxidising fruit in sloppy liquid pudding. Lesson learned: fruit makes food worse.

Cake. Easyish, you might say! A little harder than the Angel Delight but good training, you might think! A fairly straightforward process with a child-friendly food at the end, I hear you cry! But no, because the theme of the year was still healthy eating, so the teachers made it into an experiment; make four small cakes. One with sugar, one with sweetener, one with apple, and one with carrot. Then taste them and rank them in order. Off you go. I don't know if any of you have ever tried eating sugarless carrot cake, Tumblrs, but I have, and I can tell you categorically that it really puts the "Did you know" into the phrase "Did you know that fructose and sucrose are not actually equivalents of each other in a culinary setting?" It was rancid. It was disgusting. It was vile. It made me hate carrot cake for the next 12 years, in case my mouth had to go through that ordeal again. I'm still highly suspicious of the stuff even now. To (I assume) the surprise of fuck-damned no one, we unanimously put them in the order of sugar, sweetener, apple, carrot. Lesson learned: FRUIT MAKES FOOD WORSE AND CARROTS ARE ACTIVELY DISGUSTING

What possessed them?! No idea. Fucking hell.

The atmosphere was electric, with vibrant colors adorning the venue, reflecting the energy and spirit of the event.

The central focus of the stadium was the immaculately prepared volleyball court, situated at the heart of the action. Its pristine surface, made of smooth, polished wood, gleamed under the radiant floodlights. The boundaries of the court were marked with bold, contrasting lines, providing clear demarcation for the players and ensuring fair play.

On either side of the court, towering electronic scoreboards loomed large, displaying the current match score, set information, and timers, ensuring that no fan missed a moment of the thrilling encounters. Enormous high-definition screens were strategically positioned around the stadium, broadcasting close-up shots of the players and captivating slow-motion replays, further enhancing the spectator experience.

The stadium was divided into different sections, each designated for different categories of spectators. Y/N's laughter danced on the breeze as she shook her head, a playful glint in her eyes.

"No, I'm just here to enjoy the game and cheer on the players. But who knows, maybe I'll give it a try someday."

Their conversation flowed effortlessly, as if they had known each other for years. They shared stories, dreams, and the occasional witty banter that drew smiles and laughter from both of them.

He had hoped to shield Y/N from the harsh realities of public scrutiny, believing that by keeping their love secret, he could protect her from the judgments of others. But the whispers had grown louder, the rumors more persistent, weaving their way into the fabric of their lives.

Y/N's heart ached as she overheard a group of girls conversing nearby. Their voices dripped with disdain, their words weaving a tapestry of hurtful assumptions.

"Did you hear? Sakusa would never date someone as plain looking as her," one of the girls sneered.

"Of course not. He's way out of her league. He's way better off with a Victoria Secret Supermodel," another chimed in, her laughter echoing like shards of broken glass.

"I wish it were that simple, Y/N," he whispered, his voice tinged with resignation. "But I don't want to lose everything I've worked for. I'm sorry."

The words landed heavily on Y/N's heart, a final blow to the hope she had clung to. Tears welled up in her eyes as she turned away, the weight of rejection pressing down upon her like an iron cloak.

As the party continued, Y/N remained a distant observer, her smiles forced and hollow. She watched as Sakusa mingled with adoring fans and accepted the accolades from his teammates. But with each passing moment, the emptiness within her grew, a void where their love once thrived.

Fireworks erupted overtop the city's centre where the giant hole usually could be found. Except now it was filled with a huge stadium! When had that happened!? As was often tradition in Spirale, plenty early risers would have their beauty sleep disturbed by the blaring of an announcement over the electronic devices in their possession.

"That's right, Jonathan! This is an exciting year for the Spirale Games! Well it's the first year, but that's what makes it so exciting!" Anything with a screen would have displayed video of Ofiuco's android body sitting at a sportscasting desk. But there was no one else present so who was she talking to? "We have a number of exciting events for teams to sign up for and we can't wait to see you out there!"

Of course the implication was that if they didn't see them out there then those who didn't participate wouldn't be reaping any of the rewards!

Welcome to our April / May event, the Spiral Games! As you can imagine we've taken inspiration from major sporting events, but this is closer to a celebration of many different skills and only some of the events are based on athleticism! You can find a full list of the events here so that this post isn't too cluttered!

So how is everything going to work?

Characters can participate in some events alone, but we encourage everyone to form teams of up to four characters! All of the team members don't need to participate in every thread if you don't want to but the option is there if you'd like! Teams will have no bearing on rewards (but it will make them easier) so there also isn't a limit of how many teams a character can be in to prevent a scenario where some characters are let out just because some people made teams early on.

If you would like to, you can give your team a name and even design a logo!

On the event list page you can see a list of events and the rewards you can earn from participating! Rewards can only be claimed by the team members who participate, so if you choose to do a one person drabble then only you get those rewards!

You can participate in as many events as you want, but the amount of Stars one character can earn from the event is capped at 500 Stars. This does not include the regular amount you get for event participation.

There will also be an unlock reward for this event, however there is a stipulation to this. In order to claim the unlock you must write at least 300 words with at least one character on your account that your muse has yet to interact with. So long as the thread is event related it will count, which is where teams could certainly help!

Venture Electronics Video Sports from 1976.

This one is a fan favorite as Pong consoles go, and a regular at WCC events. The big "turntable" style paddles are very nice to use.

I'm a big fan of old tech that has a nice tactile element to it, and this is definitely that!

The Portland brand portable solid state TV behind it is a fun little set too that usually goes along with this one.

Tips for Maximizing the Use of Clubs in The Sims 4

Greetings everyone,

If you've played The Sims 4, you're likely aware that Get Together is one of the best expansion packs ever released for the game! It adds new dynamics to your gameplay and social clubs that can be used to improve your sims' lives. In this post, I'll share my favorite ways to use social clubs in The Sims 4 to help you get the most out of them.

It may be a lengthy read, so proceed at your own discretion.

Using social clubs to control sims' autonomy

One of the most significant advantages of social clubs is the ability to control your sims' behavior. Club activities override individual sims' autonomous actions, allowing you to direct their actions in a more productive manner. You could establish a private club for your household and use it to make your sims do chores, study, have fun, or anything else that comes to mind. You can alter club activities at any time as long as you are the club leader.

Creating your own lore through social circles

Friendships and relationships are easy to establish in The Sims 4, but they are often shallow and meaningless. It's more realistic for sims to be friends with others who share their interests or hobbies. By bringing these sims together in social clubs, you can create your own lore and stories.

In addition, you can cause drama and rivalries between different clubs by encouraging mean interactions or by banning friendly interactions with selected ones. Trust me, it brings so much life to your gameplay!

Using social clubs to explore new spaces

In The Sims 4, you can easily stay on your home lot and self-sustain indefinitely, making the game feel isolated and limited. By using social clubs, you can direct your sims to hang out at designated lots or locations, allowing them to explore the world outside their home.

Here are a few examples of social that I use in my game, based on different interests and social circles:

Interest-based Clubs

Adventure Associates: Join our nature-loving social club! We hike, fish, climb, ski, and snowboard. Connect with like-minded individuals and explore the great outdoors. (Requirements: Traits like Adventurous, Loves Outdoors, and skills such as fishing, skiing, rock climbing, etc.)

Budding Pals: Budding Pals is a gardening club for nature enthusiasts to learn plant care through sustainable practices. From novice to expert, join us in cultivating a beautiful and sustainable community garden. (Requirements: Traits like Green Fiend, Loves Outdoors, Animal Lover, Recycle Disciple, and skills such as flower-arranging and gardening)

Covalent Bonds: Not intimidated by rocket science? Think you could solve the Unsolvable Hetu Hypothesis if only you had enough moral support? Want to share electron pairs to create a stable balance of attractive and repulsive forces? Join the Covalent Bonds! (Requirements: Traits like genius, geek, overachiever, and skills such as rocket science, logic, robotics, etc.)

Desperate Homemakers: Desperate Homemakers is an inclusive group of close-knit stay-at-home folks inspired by "Desperate Housewives". They gather to gossip, play cards, and enjoy a bottle of chardonnay every now and then. (Requirements: Unemployed Sims)

Digital Divergence: Digital Divergence is a social club for gamers, coders, and streamers. Meet like-minded people, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. Join us for LAN parties, coding competitions, and streaming workshops! Twilight Advent Calendar 2023 Event

Dec. 18 - What are some things the Cullens do every time they move? Does anyone have any rituals re: leaving a location or starting at a new one?

It's kind of a bittersweet time, even when the move has been scheduled and has nothing to do with someone having an accident. It's always a bit jarring to bring their cover stories to a sudden stop after 4-6 years of pretending to be completely human, growing up, etc. Those personas are essentially "dying," and dying young.

They gradually retreat from human society beforehand; they really are busy but they also do their best to fade from public view like that instead of just disappearing overnight. Sometimes they talk about the move (to a fake destination), sometimes they don't. Some random thoughts:

-Carlisle and Esme take some quiet time alone together. They find a favorite lookout point or other special spot (sometimes even a public place like a cafe). And they just talk about everything that's happened, new things they're hoping for, their worries and ideas about the kiddos, etc. And then they just sit quietly and silently say goodbye in their own ways. It's sort of a spiritual moment they share, just one without words.

-The moves are the hardest on Rosalie, especially if they're just starting over right away without any break or vacation. It's a bit easier for her if there's something to look forward to, so between Emmett and Esme (and Rosalie herself) this is often the case.

-I wrote Rosalie and Emmett burying a time capsule full of keepsakes when they left the Olympic Peninsula in 1940, and I'm toying with the idea that they do this every time—not sure yet.

-Like Carlisle and Esme, everyone tries to visit their favorite local spots one more time. For Edward it's usually his meadow or cave or whatever was his Brooding Place. For Rosalie/Emmett it's usually a human venue like a dance club.

-Like @miss-morgans-lover said, Jasper is very busy in the weeks before a move. He actually sort of likes the nitty-gritty of managing everyone's identities, erasing paper and electronic trails, deleting pictures from databases, being the liaison to Jenks, etc. He likes to contribute in a concrete way that helps keep everyone safe, and for the most part he's enjoying the challenge here in the digital age. He takes his responsibility for putting the fear of God into liabilities like Jenks very seriously. Bella, why on earth would you take this away from him??? Back off.

-Carlisle still has a lot to do, even though Jasper has taken on a good share of the load he used to bear re: identity management. He generally keeps a handful of identities active at once so he can store valuables, keep in touch with old colleagues (he loves "aging" himself in those letters/emails), and keep his investments going with as little fuss as possible. He also has to pay his dues: preparing his CV, going on interviews, being the new guy at work again, etc. It's always hard for him to be the new guy; he likes the challenge of starting younger every time, but he always has to hold back and re-earn the respect he's become accustomed to.

-Emmett always introduces/tweaks a new vampire-level sport for everyone to try at the new location. It's his way of cheering everyone up and giving a bit of meaning to whatever the new place is. Whenever possible, he finds a way to match the sport to the location.

Choso let out another phlegm-filled cough that made his chest feel like it was about to cave in.

The disgusting red liquid that he’d just taken another dose of didn't seem to be aiding his condition in the slightest.

His pale fingers curled around the bottle before he hurled it into the wastebasket near the door.

He wasn’t exactly certain of how he’d gotten sick, but during this time of year, it was almost unavoidable.

When you work in a crowded electronics store during the holidays, especially one where you have to touch shit all day in order to demonstrate to the customer how it works, you're bound to pick up some type of germs.

Choso had trudged over to sit down on his bed when the doorbell rang.

“It’s open!!”

After turning the knob, you pushed the door open with your shoulder and carried in some plastic grocery bags.

“Cho!!”

“In the room!” The obnoxious sound of him blowing his nose followed.

You set the bags on the counter and began digging through one to bring out a glass Pyrex full of homemade chicken noodle soup.

“Babe! What are you doing - you came here straight from class?!” Choso examined you thoroughly with his sleepy eyes, looking like a pitiful, red-eyed panda bear.

You had on a white, long-sleeved thermal top with a navy blue puffer vest sporting your school logo on it, matching sweatpants, thick socks, and your Crocs.

“Not straight from class. I went home to change and cook you some soup, then I came here.”

He gripped your hips, not so subtly squeezing his fingers into the flesh of your ass.

He then quickly turned his head and brought his elbow up to sneeze into it.

“Aww, poor baby. You look miserable.”

You leaned away from him to set the container of soup on the nightstand.

“Have you taken anything?”

With a small nod of his head, chocolate eyes shifted guiltily to the bin where the cursed concoction now laid.

“I did. I don’t know why, but this shit got me feeling lazy right now..”

“How much did you take?”

“Almost the whole bottle.”

“Choso!”

“Please don't yell, baby. My head is pounding.” He squinted his eyes shut.

“Sorry, but Robitussin is only supposed to be taken every six to eight hours, pookie bear. You’re going to hurt yourself.”

A small, weary smile found its way across his dry lips.

“Mmm, Nurse Y/N. Sexy.”

A loud slap echoed throughout the room as Choso’s heavy palm connected with your butt.

With a giggle, you removed his hand, but he grabbed you around the waist and fell backwards onto the bed with you straddling his waist.

“Don't tell me you're horny right now, Cho.” Your hips rolled over his lap and you got your answer.

He let his head fall back onto the pillow, eyes closed, dark brown locks splayed across smooth, black silk. A small smirk crossed your cocoa-butter flavored lips as you did it again, pressing harder against his erection with your pelvis.

“Baby, you can… ride it - o-oo~yeaaah..”

He started to open his eyes to look up and watch how fucking sexy you looked sitting on top of him.

“Keep them closed.”

No objection left Choso’s mouth as you lifted your hips to slide off your pants and panties.

When he felt your lips hovering over his mouth, he grazed your chin with two fingers, slightly gripping it and turning your face so that you pecked his cheek instead.

“I don’t want to make you sick.”

“Choso, who cares if I get sick?”

“I know you care, Y/N..”

You laid in bed next to him with your eyes closed and head on his chest. Thank God it’s Friday and you don’t have class tomorrow.

Choso smacked your bare ass cheek, making you jump away from him.

SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States. The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science. SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research. The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network. Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor. Gary’s always loved science. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. He worked as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. Later, Gary became part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and was one of its first presenters. Lori-Ki's in @sonic-oc-showdown ! Last time, we all did a short Q&A - @bunnymajo asked if we're doing it again this year, and I said - OMG, YES!

Lori-Ki is a once-great, now minimum-wage odd-jobs worker on the ground floor of the Dark Egg Legion, doing dirty jobs as-and-when commanded. This is the bane of her existence, having been a once-legendary sniper. When Enerjak Knuckles tormented the Dark Legion, she was part of the surviving echidnas to lose her cybernetics, having run-of-the-mill cybernetics installed when Dimitri joined the Dark Legion with Eggman's forces.

In her past life, she had a cybernetic eye, and hearing which was unparalleled. She was a powerhouse; now reduced to a regular echidna with titanium legs, and a ridiculous multitool installed into her hands.

Questionairre below the cut;

✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name? Lori-Ki initially had a much more colourful colourscheme, of blues, oranges, and greens! She was named for the bird; the Lorikeet! Of course, the hyphonated name comes with the territory of being an Archie echidna.

🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range) Lori-Ki is 26 years old.

🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)? She likes to think that she has a long-con love/hate thing going on with Eggman, that he is madly in love with her. She has this elaborate plot of how exactly she is going to turn him down, she's got a wedding planner diary for it. He has no idea who she is, and could not tell her apart from the next Legionnaire.

🍕 - What is their favorite food? Lori-Ki enjoys a good coconut. Not USUALLY wrestled from a chao which found itself floating through the Twilight Zone, but ..

💼 - What do they do for a living? Lori-Ki does odd jobs for the Dark Egg Legion; the combined forces of the Dark Legion's might, with Eggman's technological know-how. She finds this an insult, given that before her cybernetics were stripped, she had been a highly competent and high-ranking sniper for the Legion. She had once sported an impressive cybernetic eye, and unparalleled enhanced hearing; after Enerjak wiped her circuits for flesh and blood, she found herself subject to the mass-producing legionisation under Eggman's command, which gave her standard cybernetics; robotic legs, and an embarrassingly goofy mutli-tool between her left thumb and pinkie.

🎹 - Do they have any hobbies? She likes to make electronic music with Trearddur. She sits and gives her thoughts and opinions whilst he mixes it, occasionally offering vocals and new sounds for the recordings. Sometimes, she'll play a little music to add to the mix.

🎯 -What do they do best? Vindication! She used to be an incredible shot; since Enerjak removed her cybernetics, she had been trying to get them restored; Eggman wanted nothing to do with such a thing, barely even noticing her presence. This spurred into a vindicative obession...

🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do? She loves being paired up with Trearddur, and getting work done. They're thick as thieves, and used to be an incredibly efficient powerhouse duo in making the Legion run smoothly. This was a major source of pride. Anything she can do that makes things easier for everybody makes her happy.

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories? Meeting Trearddur! They had met in their early 20's both grabbing a drink, and had become thick as thieves in an instant. Discovering that they were both on security, they fast became nigh inseperable, even their cybernetics slotting hand-in-hand.

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories? Being held at the mercy of Enerjak Knuckles was an incredibly traumatic event for Lori-Ki. The sheer power on show was terrifying; to be stripped of her cybernetics which were very much a part of her person was like losing a part of herself. Losing the abilities she previously had was incredibly debilitating for her; to have them replaced with unsuitable robotic parts was life-changing in the worst way.

🧊 - Is their current design the first one? Sort of! Yesn't. I tend to go through a design process over a few days, when working on OC's. I will create a few variations, and refine it from there.

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC? We were messing around in Sonic Projector RP, a Sonic fangame - we decided to go with the Dark Egg Legion, to mix things up a little. After messing around in Press Gardens crushing crates for rings, we fell in love with the idea of echidnas who were once great, now doing odd dirty jobs for Eggman.

🌂 - What genre do they belong in? Science Fantasy, and something about an allegorical hatred for the British Government's poor dealings with disabled people. (oh, you didn't get that subtext? ... Look, look with your special eyes?)

💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality? Lori-Ki is 'maybe a girl, iunno' who is openly bisexual.

🙌 - How many sibling does your OC have? None! Lori-Ki is an only child.

🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like? She doesn't much know her parents; it's not unheard of in the Dark Legion - the Twilight Zone was unforgiving and harsh, and many children grew up in foster care.

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC? She is fantastic to roleplay as! Her combative wit and short temper which fades away to a 'NO JK JK JK LOLOLOL I heart your fucking makeup oh my god I love your hair' -- She's all of the passive agressiveness I dropped when I stopped being a scene teen. Gawd. HORRIBLE person to be around, but I LOVE her.

✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC? About once a month, at least. Mostly, we RP and LARP as her; that happens much more often. We'll brainstorm her quite often!

💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC? Her death would be reeeeally drab, symbolically; I'd prefer not to.

💀 - Does your OC have any phobias? She is terrified of overestimating her abilities; her brain has not quite caught up with the fact that she isn't as able as she was with her old cybernetics. She oft finds herself in sticky situations due to overestimating her sight and hearing, still learning her new limitations.

🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival? She thinks that it's Eggman. He's never even heard of her.

🎓 - How long have you had the OC? Wooh, only a year by now!

보다 vs 시청하다 vs 관람하다

Just like in any language, there are many words in Korean that in essence mean the same thing but have specific nuances that differentiate them from each other.

So, today I’d like to talk about the difference between 보다, 시청하다, and 관람하다, which all mean "to watch".

시청하다…

means "to watch a television broadcast" (1) and has the nuance that the viewer is watching a recorded video and is not watching something at a public venue or in real time.

Ex. 넷플릭스를 시청하고 나면 스트레스가 풀린다. (I feel relaxed after watching Netflix.)

Ex. 지난번에 A팀 경기 시청했니? (Did you catch team A's game the other day?)

관람하다…

means "to watch/see performances, movies, sports games, or exhibits" (2) and means that someone is viewing something in a public space in real time.

Ex. ��람들이 스포츠 경기를 관람하고 있다. (People are attending a sporting event.)

Ex. 나는 여동생들을 데리고 연극 관람을 갔다. (I took my younger sisters to see a play.)

보다…

has several different meanings in Korean, but it is often used to mean "to watch" (3). Unlike 시청하다 and 관람하다, 보다 can be used to describe watching anything at all since it does not imply where the watching is happening or what is being watched.

Ex. 그 밴드의 공연을 보기 위해 수천 명의 사람들이 많은비싼 돈을 지불했다. (Thousands of people paid good money to watch the band perform.)

Ex. 난 텔레비전 보고 싶지 않아. (I don’t want to watch TV.)

⚠️ 보다 can be used in place of both 시청하다 and 관람하다, but 시청하다 and 관람하다 are not interchangeable.

Normal sports would become a taboo and soon they will be forgotten forever, while the superior kind of sports become the norm. It will take little for these new sports to addapt, making bigger characters and hitboxes, erasing the idea of thin people being playable characters or even existing.

Meanwhile, competitive eating will rocket up, friends will compete with each other to see who stuffs more junk into their mouths and there would be massive events where the best showcase how much they can eat, glorifying gluttony and obesity with their bodies.

I am a cute, poetic, caring, and sweet person who knows how to listen actively and hold a one-on-one conversation, often getting people to open up more than they expected, otherwise I'm pretty reserved. If I was transported to a magical school, I would do my best to learn the theory and practicalities of magic, even if I couldn't actually cast spells, and try to excel in other scientific fields (and Mozus Trein would definitely be my favourite professor). I have a great interest in the occult (my library is something I'm very proud of) and psychology, but I'm truly interested in all types of knowledge and books. When I go to the used book stores, I can spend hours there, as I go through war, occult, philosophy, science, comics, fantasy, poetry, and all other categories of books, except sports and cooking. I also love music: opera, metal, neofolk, electronic, and all of them together.

I love crafting and learning new things, but I'm most interested in historical and folk crafts, like nålbinding, embroidery, weaving in many forms, making jewelry from bones and other things found in nature, and more! I love making stuff and seeing that I have finished something, that I've made something.

I have a rough history with mental illness and trauma, making me prone to getting overwhelmed easily, and I have to calm and ground myself. I often feel out of touch with my body, like my spirit is a feet out of me. One thing that works is a tight hug and closeness. I'm also very submissive by nature and other ways, so I really need someone who is sure of themselves and also accepting. I don't need pity, I need a helping hand and someone I can rely on.

Other small things: I can play erhu, dance butoh, bellydance, and few different folk dances, I've practiced tai chi with fan, my newest obsession is fountain pens (there's TWST pens by Sailor, but they're so expensive!), I can't eat meat or onions, I always wear a red bow on my head, mostly because it keeps my curly hair out of my face but also because it's just part of me now just like my red lipstick, I only wear dresses (comfy, cute, always fits any occasion), I have blue eyes, and my favourite animal is fox.

Right off the bat, it was hard to actually get into a relationship with him to begin with. With all of his duties that he has to Kalim, his duties as a vice housewarden, his school and club activities. Plus the belief that he doesn't deserve the happiness that would come from having a relationship, not wanting to burden his partner with the burden that he shares as serving the Al-Asim family (please, this boy needs so much love, it's not even funny)

Then you come along and pretty much destroy all of that. It really threw him in for a loop.

Honestly, just the feeling of someone caring for him after such a long day of making sure that the rich idiot doesn't die or make any stupid decisions, just makes him melt. Having your arms around him after such a long day as he is able to just unload everything from the day, knowing that you are listening with full attention brings more comfort than you may ever know.

He keeps a few red bows lined in his pockets and in his room just in case there was a very rare event that you had forgotten to put it on that day. It had grown on him, and it was a part of you, much like the small beads in his hair were a part of him.

Speaking of hair, he honestly loves to be able to do yours. it is so different from his own. Jamil is a very fast learner. By the end of the day, he knows more about curly hairstyles and how to work with them and he has a wonderful woman to be able to try said styles on.

There was a time where he took you on a small trip to the Scalding Sands, and seeing you dressed in the traditional clothing from his home country had this man feeling all sorts of things as he couldn't help how his cheeks warmed upon seeing you.... yes, Najma teased him relentlessly for it. And yes.... he bought you several of those dresses to take back to campus with you.

Jamil is 100% someone you can rely on (and there is no hidden meaning to what he is doing, not with you). When things are far too overwhelming for you, he is there to simply hold onto you, giving you the reassurance that you need. He will help you and guide you through what it is that is troubling you in no time. This man has plenty of experience.

Overall, you brought a light and happiness into his life that he did not know that he needed. Now that he has it, he doesn't want to let go, he grows a bit greedy for your affection. After all, it is something that is just for him and he finally doesn't have to share. He thanks you everyday for coming into his life and just putting up with him.
