Oh you know, just putting together an overly inclusive list of what I want to make an emergency kit out of. Just your normal end-times stuff lol. (Those white boxes will turn into green boxes with checkmarks as I procure things.)
Gonna take a long time to actually collect all of this but I’ll get the important stuff first. Also, I want a big kit for our house but I also want to make a go-bag or keep smaller kits in our cars too. Some stuff on this list would only really be needed outside of the home so maybe I’ll just keep that stuff separate for now.
Once I have a kit, I’ll also be keeping an inventory of it in my phone, including expiration dates of anything that expires. And I’ll keep a yearly reminder in my phone to check things and throw away/replenish as needed.

This blog is supposed to be a WWE writing blog, but since my last first day of high school is close, I wanted to share with y'all what I put in my emergency kit because I want to help you guys who will start school in September or October like me (my first day is 13rd September this) to be prepared because I love these type of lists you can find on TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest etc. So here's what I put in my emergency bag:
Pads: I've never been a tampons fan, so I put a couple pads for type (two large ones and two small ones).
Wipes: makeup removing wipes, deodorant wipes and intimate wipes because I found these three types in travel size at a drugstore in my town and they're perfect for travel, school, roadtrips, anything!
Glasses cleansing wipes: I wear glasses and they're always dirty so... yeah.
Deodorant: as for the wipes, I found the mini size of my two daily deodorants (I use a spray one that doesn't stain clothes and a gel one that lasts) and they could be good after gym class or regular gym.
Perfume: I already had a mini perfume a friend of mine gifted me for my 15th birthday at home so I put that in because you never know the perfume you put at home doesn't last.
Lip balm/chapstick: for all of you who have dry lips and if you wear lipstick, I suggest to buy one that also adds some pigment to your lips in case your lipstick fades away during the day.
Mint flavoured breathe spray: sometimes because of my ADHD brain, I forget to brush my teeth in the morning (I'm looking forward to make sure it won't happen ever again), but in case your breathe smells horrible for any reason or you just want to refresh your mouth, it can be a must-have.
Topexan s.o.s pimple stick: especially for the people who have oily or acne skin and pimple popping out all over their face like mushrooms.
Toilet covers: they were €0.99 at a drugstore and my mom suggested me to buy them because they could be useful if I have to go to the bathroom and I'm not home.
Hand lotion: I had to give a look in the bag because I literally forgot what I put inside- anyways, in during winter time, I noticed my hands get pretty dry and itchy like a some sort of eczema and I never had a hand lotion in my backpack, so I bought the less expensive one that I think it's unscented because I had a passion fruit one, but the scent is too strong for me and it could irritate my skin.
Hand sanitizer: I don't keep it in my bag, but I have it hanging on my backpack because it's from Bath and Body Works and if you're interest, the hand sanitizer scent is strawberry poundcake and the case is pink gummy bear shaped (I love it and it's also a nice idea for a gift).
Mini hairbrush: my hair's always a mess in the morning and I'm not really good at brushing it and it also has a mirror included which is the actual reason why I bought it.
Hair ties: I've been obsessed with taking hair ties to school since one of my classmates who needed one borrowed it from me and I hope I'll be able to help other people with their long hair issues hehehe.
Spray stain remover: whenever I eat, I always stain my clothes and I read on pinterest that they suggest to put it in the emergency kit, but I couldn't find a stick one so I had to buy a spray one on Amazon, I hope it fits because I don't know how small it looks like in real life (it was delivered today, but I still haven't got the package).
Medicines: mostly painkillers because last year I always forgot to take painkillers and whenever I used to get my period at school, I had to call my mom to pick me up earlier or
Chewing-gums: I'll buy them last minute. I don't chew these very often, but my mom has the bad habit to chew the inside of her cheek due to anxiety and to avoid that, I prefer chewing a gum than my cheek.

Build an Emergency (Bug-Out) Kit:
Call it what you want, this is an essential tool in any emergency plan whether staying where you are or bugging out. Everything is together in one container to grab-n-go and easy to transport or store. Each person (and pet) should have their own as well as each vehicle. Each bag should have a minimum of the "Eleven Cs (11-Cs)" supplies inside. In the event of an Emergency, this bag should be one of the first things to grab and stay with you through the entire emergency event. Contents: The contents of your Bug-Out Bag will be as individual as you are. Item categories are, basically, universal. Think small/compact and light weight. Expand on the Eleven Cs (11-Cs)
Air-filtering masks
Eye protection
Shelter - tent, space blankets
Water container and methods to filter/purify
Food - emergency bars, basic fishing/snare gear, utensils
Multi-tool, saw, shovel
Fire-making skills/supplies for heat, light and cooking
Cordage - rope, paracord, duct tape
Compass and map
First Aid kit
Whistle
Mini sewing kit
Flashlight - hand crank, solar or xtra batteries
AM/FM/NOAA radio - hand crank, solar or xtra batteries
Emergency cash and/or credit/debit card
Clothing - gloves, hat, coat, extra, raingear
Self-Defense tools
Important documents and contacts on flash drive
Entertainment - playing cards Other items to consider but K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Survivor).
Learn How to Properly Use Your Gear and Supplies and When: If I have all the stuff in the world to go camping or use in an emergency, but don't know how to use my stuff, all I have is STUFF. And, if I don't have a plan for my camping trip or what I will do in an emergency, now I have a pile of stuff with no map to follow for their effective use. Face-to-face with an emergency, or at the campsite, is not the time to learn how to use the gear and supplies that has been accumulated for this very purpose. What was thought to be the right tool when purchased, may now prove to be no help at all "in the moment". Don't go unprepared with not having the correct supplies in the correct quantities and not knowing how to use those supplies. Make the time to learn how to properly use all of the gear when it's first acquired and to discover if it should stay or be traded for something better. Use supplies and gear, periodically, as a refresher course. Initial testing and periodic refreshers will help take some of the stress out of the actual camping or emergency event.
• Look at, and slowly handle, each item to learn how it works. • Rehearse, in your mind, why each item is significant, and what role it will fill in any scenario. • Recall any past experience, information, and training that each item has been used. • Secure Gear. Place each item securely in your pack, in proper order for use. Keep everything tied down or zipped closed. • Exercise and drill with "full gear" to understand personal limits and adjust if needed. • ALWAYS keep your pack on your person or within direct arm's reach. • Never wander away from your pack to, possibly, forget where you left it. • Never place your pack on a slope, hill, or ledge to, possibly, fall or roll away. • Never leave items laying randomly on the ground, making them hard to find.
Prioritizing Use of Gear and Supplies: Part of knowing your gear is knowing their limitations, quantity available and alternatives that can be used in their place. Your gear and supplies are not inexhaustible. Before using your supplies, think of other renewable resources that might be used instead so that your exhaustible supplies can be used as a last resort another time. Save the most precious resources as a last-ditch option; the "most precious use last". For example; never start a fire with a lighter if a magnesium fire-starter (ferro rod) is available and don't use the ferro rod if the sun (renewable resource) is available (using a magnifying glass). Hunt or gather off the land for food before eating your packaged, long-term food supply. Filter a natural water supply before drinking stored/bottled water. Test with Your Bug-Out Bag (BOB): Create a list of exercises, drills, and tactics (sample below) that will test the gear, no matter what it is.
Small hikes building up to multiple miles
Urban and outdoor tactical drills
Crawling, running, swimming, lying prone for extended periods of time
Running and jogging with fully loaded BOB
Pushups and pull-ups
Climbing steep hills with all weaponry
Climbing urban environments such as stairs, walls and fences
Long hikes with sprints and running
Perfecting your stances for long periods of time while crouched
Compact and Lightweight: Innovations and technology have made bug-out supplies more compact and lightweight. When putting a bug-out bag (BOB) together, research the many options that are available, keeping these two factors in mind as well as quality. Here is a suggestion: Compressed Towel "Tablets" come in a variety of sizes and can be used for cleaning and bandages. Just add water to expand. Dollar Store Checklist NOTE: While water is essential to life, it is heavy (8 pounds per gallon) so carrying large quantities is not practical. That's why a reuseable container (suitable for carrying and boiling water) and water purification method(s) should be included in the kit if you'll be on the move. Proper Packing: There is a correct way to load a backpack; something most hikers find out the hard way while suffering from all sorts of uncomfortable backpack related pains out on the trail. Everyone wants to cram as much stuff as they can in their pack but, realistically, determine how much YOU can carry and for how long and how far. The only sure way to find out is to Test Your BOB.
Determine how much you can, realistically, carry and don't exceed that weight limit
Pack only gear that is "essential" to your ultimate survival (11 Cs)
Choose lighter-weight alternatives to heavier and bulky
Choose items that serve more than one purpose to help lighten your load
While some packing rules are flexible and will depend on your unique needs, there are a few rules of thumb you should keep in mind.
Bottom of the Bag - items you don't need quickly (tent, sleeping bag)
Middle of the Bag - heaviest gear packed somewhere near the middle of the backpack (near your belt line).
Top of the Bag - filled with light items and the gear that you will need the most.
DIY Primitive Bushcraft Backpack: Regardless of what you have to carry, most times, strapping it to your back, or over the shoulder or around your waist will be easier than holding it in your hands. In a survival situation, your hands should be free to hack through brush, move branches, hold a compass or carry a walking stick, to name just a few. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself without a useful pack, learn how to make your own. You can lash a frame together with rope and fill the frame with some kind of bag or tarp, or just tie a bag shut and sling it over your shoulder or tie it around your waist or make a pack or pouch from scratch with the materials on hand, like tree bark, animal skin, vines, clothing, whatever. Here are some ideas for your brain to ponder: [Bushcraft BackPack Video 1] [Bushcraft Packing Video] [Bucket BackPack] [Pants BackPack] [Tree Bark Pack] [Grapevine Basket] [Making Your Dispatched Deer into a Backpack] FEMA Restrictions: If The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) wakes you up in the middle of the night with an alleged community emergency, understand that they prohibit "hazardous" items (guns, knives, lighters, etc.) and limits the amount of items a "victim" can bring with them to a FEMA Emergency Facility (field camp). If you become a "guest" of a FEMA Field Camp, you cannot bring any pets and what you bring must fit on your lap. If a sudden event causes you to become a FEMA Guest, it's best to prepare for such an encounter by building a FEMA-friendly kit within your Bug-Out Bag as the Bug-Out Bag may not comply with their guidelines. You may only have minutes to evacuate, with FEMA assistance, so having this kit at the ready is a good preparedness step. It is recommended to bring your wallet with legal, government-issued, identification and cash:
Your Emergency Bag may be OK as long as its contents comply with FEMA guidelines (above)
Ear plugs to help sleep in a room full of noisy people
USB drive containing electronic copies of important documents

⚠️🪫 emergency kit 🪫⚠️
aka the post im making to keep track of coping skills during a crash
is this making you overstimulated? address that. fix your environment.
now get your thoughts out. vent post, google doc, whatever, just put things into words. be as wildly hyperverbal and poetic as you need to be. write an actual poem if you feel inspired.
now that thats done, what you most need is to have your suffering acknowledged and then be distracted from it. excessive comfort seeking doesnt work for you, itll only work if the comfort is offered. be sad about it but move on quickly. maybe talking in a vent channel will help, maybe not. maybe its better to just start chatting casually, and in that case its okay to mention being sad but dont go into too much detail. it is perfectly fine to be honest if asked how youre doing, but like it or not, you will get your needs met best if you limit how much sadness you share with others. im sorry and i love you. let the conversation move on to happier topics and your mood will follow. it may or may not be best to actively state that you need a distraction.
get some non-social supply, especially if no one is available to chat. chess, video games, coding, whatever will quickly boost your ego without being too frustrating. remind yourself that you have skills. let yourself feel like a genius with more potential for success than anyone else.
JEWISH STUDIES. i promise babygirl if you just listen to a rabbi talk for like half an hour it WILL make you feel less hopeless. mf i KNOW you. i AM you. you WILL cheer up.
if youre not listening to rabbinical ramblings, music time. its okay to start with angsty sad music, but try to move on to more upbeat stuff fairly quickly. your mood is very easily influenced by music. use it to kickstart a narc high, you have my permission, that is FAR preferable to a crash.
hydrate and have a tasty treat if you feel up to eating. especially if youve been crying, you need water, and food will probably help you regain some of the energy lost to The Misery Vortex.
bathtime? you want bathtime?? sit in a tub of warm water. you will feel better physically and emotionally. light a candle. maybe have your water and snack while youre in the bath! how about that!
do not even touch any bottle of alcohol. if you do, i forgive you. i forgive you if you relapse. but it is not going to help you.
look though your supply tag and album. write down any instances of supply that happened today, or this week, or whenever. remind yourself that people like you and love you.
on that note, look through your tags on your main, go reminisce on your favorite posts tumblrina boy
SLEEP AT A DECENT TIME PLEEEEASE. you are going to be extra tired from having a breakdown, again especially if youve been crying. tuck yourself in, listen to something comfy, hug a plushie if you want.
i love you, you have been through this before, youve probably been through worse, you can get through this even if it fucking sucks that you have anything to get through in the first place. i love you. everyone in your brain loves you. HaShem loves you. your future kids love you. your congregation loves you. your friends love you. now go kick ass by managing your crash in a healthy way and proving all the jackasses wrong <3

🌸Emergency period bag🌸
Tumblr media
(Photo doesn't belong to me!)
🌸•Emergency period bag for people who menstruate :) great for school, outings, trips, and work.
🌱•Toiletries•🌱
🌺•Sanitary wipes
🌺•Mini water bottle or variation incase you need to clean up
🌺•Pads, tampons, period underwear, menstrual cup, or whatever menstrual hygiene product you use.(For those first getting their period, I would suggest starting with pads. Remember to change your pad every three to four hours if your flow is heavy, and every four to eight if not, your tampon every anywhere from 3-4 or 4-6 hours, no more than 8 hours but to stay safe is recommended to change more often than that. Just be sure to change regularly and change before you go to bed. Empty your menstrual cup whenever suits you, but leave in for no more than 10 hours. How quickly the cup fills and will need to be changed depends upon you and your cycle.
🌺•Mini deodorant (I personally like Native, as they're natural, good products with a variety of scents, something for everyone, and good coverage; however they are a bit pricey, so I also enjoy Old Spice.)
🌱•Pain relief•🌱
🌺•Pain medication (if you take it. I typically use tylenol and ibuprofen. Tylenol is generally safer but seems less affective.)
🌺•Hot water bottle (it is recommended that you have a cover for your hot water bottle! It keeps the bottle from becoming too hot and causing burns.)
🌺•Heating pad (if you can fit in your bag and if you have access to use it. Probably better for trips. I know some heating pads are chargeable while others will need to be plugged in. Be sure not to use it too hot, you dont want to burn yourself!)
🌺•I hear for certain individuals, those small massage tools can help for cramps- so, if you are one of those individuals, it could be beneficial as long as it's not too loud. Again, probably better for a trip.)
🌺•Those plush animals you can put in the freezer are nice as well! They're cute and fun! Just be sure to be careful, and not to heat for too long. Only heat for recommended time and be sure to check reviews of the product for proper heating times.
🌱•Other beneficial things•🌱
🌺•Water (gotta keep hydrated! Can be simple bottled water or use a cup. I like those cheap 99cent thermoses :) and those cups that you put ice in and they stay cold for hours are nice!)
🌺•I enjoy smoothies and juice on my period. A bottle of Juice or tea can be good! I like Combucha and pomegranate juice, the kind with seeds in it. I wouldn't recommend soda on your period as it can upset your stomach and make you feel bloated.
🌺•For cravings, I recommend taking a few small snacks. It's good to have foods like nuts, fruits, and a bit of chocolate. Whole foods are good for your period. Chocolates and cakes are also totally okay, yo! I like having cosmic brownies, M&Ms, and chocolate covered fruit.
🌺•A change clothes in case of stains (if you can fit it in your bag. If you cant, just take a change of undergarments.)
🌺•Any comfort items are good! Small plushes, keychains, religious items like necklaces etc, books, and generally anything that brings you comfort! Depending on the size of your bag and the event- you can even bring blankets and such. Personally, some of my comfort items are statues and figures of celebrities and characters I like, as well as rocks for religious reasons. So, anything that brings you comfort can be a comfort item. The sky and the size of your bag are the limit!
🌱•Bags•🌱
🌺•So, there's many different types of bags that can be used! My personal favorite if you want a lot of space are messenger bags. They're large, usually have plenty of pockets, and remain relatively light. They're also inspired by old-school mailman bags, so if you're looking for a more masc or gender neutrals bag, they're a great option. They come in many different styles as well! Personally, mine is pastel pink and covered in a vintage-y pink and green floral pattern. Anything can work depending on how much size you need, however. If you simply want to bring a menstrual product, medicine, and sanitary wipes, for example, a fanny pack or small satchel could suffice. A backpack could also be used. Anything that you like and makes you comfortable, with enough room for your things is the perfect fit! ♡

It’s also time to get into the behavior of an annual or semi-annual prep evaluate, the place you verify your supplies, replace anything expired, swap out winter and summer garments in your go-bags, check contact info, and so on. You witness a severe automobile accident while driving house in rush-hour site visitors. It may take emergency services 10 to 15 minutes to reach.
