Forest AU?

Working on a little AU, (title pending), some sketches of what's to come and maybe an upcoming mini comic... Once I figure out how to draw water and make it look good, as well as backgrounds (cries), then I can put it up for y'all to eat.

Basically, the story I have is, what if the monkeys weren't cyborgs and were just 'regular' monkeys living in the forest/jungle/wild. They find a lil baby, Chiro, and raise him as a part of their clan but Chiro might find that he's probably a little different than those around him...

Ohhhh boy, it is OCT time once again, and I'm going for another round on Goku 3.33 OCT!

If you don't know about this, Goku 3.33 is a Character tournament where you use fan-characters to create stories and compete in a DEATH BATTLE. My character “Fangs” is created based on the Kid Icarus Uprising game and the Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go cartoon.

So yeah, expect some comic nonsense in the following months.

I’ve been bingeing lost media stuff, and while I doubt the existence of any lost episodes or any media that be recovered beyond higher quality version of what we already have...

I started to browse old forums  mentioning the show. 

So far I have found:

SRMTHG was planned to have a 5th season

The reason Netbug009 is at the forefront of the community despite not producing as much fan content or being as active in comparison to other notable community members. (She’s old)

Some of the public outcry regarding it’s cancelation, which was spoken about before the airing of season 4(rerun?)

Below is more comprehensive research, regarding the initial release of Monkey team, and anything I can find on the matter. (edit: Near the end I abandoned my research in favor of an existential talk and expressing some frustrations.)

The first mention of Jetix on the forum is in april of 2004 and it was of someone HATING it

Monkey team may have made its first appearance at San Diego comic con 2004?

Lynne Naylor? I’ve never heard that name in relation to monkey team???? Despite being an incredibly important part of development??She talked to the author of the article and mentioned Monkey team to him, to which he made fun of the title and then started talking about spongebob. Summer of 2004

Doing some more digging, and apparently she (previously)showed in galleries in vaguely my area, at least in the areas my Dad does. Though, modern art isn’t really things we know much about.

Jetix Europe announced monkey team exactly a month before it’s release, and on the same day as W.I.T.C.H. 

Another thread on a similar topic had some of the plans for schedules about a month in advance, showing that Depths of Fear Aired BEFORE Chiro’s Girl

Jetix originally seemed excited about SRMTHG it being the forefront of their new wave of shows. That, and thw WITCH is much more connected to it than i initially thought, at least in production.

Nobody was really hyped about it on release. It took over a week before anybody mentioned it

Also according to this threat, depsite the miscoumentation, Chiro’s girl DID air first.

There wasn’t a talkback for monkeys (after the premire) until KRINKLE.

Jeff bennett does a really good Eric idle Impression.Tha’s public knowledge but I jsut didn’t know about it until now.

The reason that SRMTHFG on D+ was grouped in the way it was, was because THAT’S HOW IT ORIGINALLY AIRED!! IN 26 EPISODE SEASONS!! IT’S BEEN PLANNED WITH 26 EPISODES FORM THE START, BUT THEN GOT BROKEN UP LATER.

First Rumors of monkey cancelation was on June 26th, 2006. Nobody beleived him.

What went through your head when you decided to make Razor and Ebony, back when SRMTHFG was still sort of popular? What inspired you to create those characters?

Ebony was a generic Mary Sue type and I chose purple because that color wasn’t in the lineup. (Now I believe that was to help distinguish ‘evil’ colors) After some critique I kinda left her and tried again but doing an antagonist this time. 

Black and red again are very standard, but they are easy to see and were some colors I was really into for the goth phase I was only superficially part of. Razor became more developed through an OC battle arena game run by Netbug009, and I didn’t really have much except a basic concept then. Both characters had a slow development that was explained through short comics and stories that were experimental. I don’t know exactly why people really liked them, but that ended up assisting in improving their personalities. 

This is also why their timeline is all over the place and parts are unclear. These fan characters were created when I was 16.

Srmthfg: At this point, would you rather get a movie finale or a complete reboot of the series? At this point if someone did want to bring back srmthfg, I'd say reboot seems more likely. I can imagine several big differences taking place in order to keep it fresh for old fans and engage new ones. What would you like to add/change? I'd make Jimnay a cyborg (cause more limitations and mysteries over how she ended up like this. Plus I want her to grow w/Chiro). Expand original Mandarin's role -

2 and keep him as the independant antagonist he was in his debut ep. But keep clone Mandarin because we obviously need 2 Mandarins running around at once. Throw in a lot of subtle hints early on about Chiro’s past and destiny (but keep the complete truth hidden for a long time). Expand Valina’s role by a lot. Make the sacrifice theory canon - I’m too invested. Spova canon later on so we can see how they work in a relationship. Focus on Antauri’s adjustment to fully robotic. A proper ending.

Tbh, Anon, at this point I’m just hoping for ANYTHING. A comic continuation; a movie; a reboot; the script; or even just a summary of what was going to happen/what we needed to know. You know, I’ve actually considered rewriting the series my way before, but I just don’t have the time. Between college, family, my original stuff, and the fanfics I’ve got, that’s a massive undertaking. It would be nice to do a fandom wide project, but again, no time for me to organize xD BUT if you want to know a general idea of how I’d do it…I LOVE the Jinmay as a cyborg idea. Maybe it was the operation—perhaps performed by Skeleton King after “rescuing” her from a crashed ship—that cost her her memories, or perhaps some form of blunt trauma to the head. But yes, definitely an idea that would be great to add. She also deserves a larger role in the plot, with some time dedicated to her past/character. Independent antagonist Mandarin makes SO MUCH more sense than SK lackey Mandarin. I’m working on a piece right now that’s kind of a way to explain WHY he would make such a weird decision, but, as it stands, it makes no sense. But Skeleton King cloning Mandarin so he has his own monkey can definitely be kept as you said. It would also be interesting to see a subplot in which, instead of trying to clone Chiro, he tries to clone the monkeys themselves? YES Antauri’s adjustment to robot would be SO amazing. Also, if Jinmay were to stay a full android, it would be really cute to see her helping him through the transition! (Even if that technically happened while they were in space. Whatever, vid calls are a thing.) Give Valina a better role, PLEASE. And don’t just kill her off. God. I would have loved to see either a) her surviving his attempt to kill her and her teaming up with the hyper force to stop him or b) her making a pact with the dark ones and becoming a more powerful villain. Or hell, in the hypothetical reboot, make her team up with not a clone Mandarin.DEFINITELY a focus on canon Spova. Dealing with the aftermath of Sprx’s time under the Fire of Hate. And maybe an analysis of WHY he was able to be consumed by the Fire and an adjustment to the team dynamic so their bonds are stronger.A focus on them dealing with the emotional aftermath of their fights. More team bonding between pairs that don’t involve Chiro! (I love Chiro to death, but I also love my monkeys and want to see them bond.)Chiro aging? That would be nice. He seems like he stays 14 forever. Mmmmm, More Shuggazoom government? Notes on Chiro’s past of course. The sacrifice theory, definitely. Ahhhh. Oh, I would have loved more Shuggazoom world building!! Either let’s see more stuff out of the city or more stuff in it. Or both. (I’m reaching really big here, but like. We said what do I WANT not what’s realistic.) Mm… but basically everything you said plus a couple other things!!

* Collapse * Finally, finished my Jinmay calendar submission. Thank you Clip Studio Paint 3D assets for giving me a bench model to reference, at least that helped cut down on some time! Why did I decide to do Jinmay in the style of CLAMP art, specifically in homage to this art of Chii from Chobits, flower details on the dress and all?

Well, back in the day there was a user on DeviantART named Sora-Mito who did absolutely awesome SRMTHG! art, including some absolutely beautiful art of Jinmay, one of which was Chobits inspired. Sadly, Sora-Mito is no longer on DA and all that remains is some art re-posted on the old SRMTHFG group. Normally re-posting like this is a bad thing, but it does let me show the art I'm’ talking about...

So TL:DR, this art is as much a homage to Sora-Mito as it is to CLAMP :)

Hyperforce art for the December fan calendar! This actually started out as anniversary art, but of course I was inspired by this Three Houses art to do some birds eye views, which took longer to do then I though. Oh well, works for New Year’s, right?

Including when Mandarin appeared in the Disney Adventure comics because I love how badly they miscolor him there XD

I decided to actually participate in the SRMTHFG! Calendar this month! It was just the inspiration I needed to help get me out of my art slump and draw again! It was fun to slap colors together and see what my new Clip Studio Paint brushes can do ^_^

My idea was that ‘April showers bring May flowers’. That, and I have this whole thing about Gibson being associate with water!

The question never bothered much the first time I watched the series years ago. But now, after watching your srmthfg reviews, I have one thought that haunts me. What the heck do the monkeys and SK know that we fans and Chiro are in the complete dark about!? Ciro I appreciate you wanting to get the truth out before you die in the form of a comic/movie/season 5 but please don't wait that long if it's not happening. I gotta know. =/

IKR????? We need something akin to Hey Arnold’s The Jungle Movie badly but... haha.... yeah right let’s be real here

Since Nieli Ciro said Chiro told monkeys his parents are dead (note|edit: he actually said it as a joke. My memory glitched, I’m sorry) while they still live in Shuggazoom & those boys in Shuggazoom were his school bullies and we don’t see Chiro in school ever, I headcanon he actually ran from home and maybe quite problematic family relationships.

That’s why I decided to remake a lyrics video “Silent Scream” into a comic about Chiro’s life before he met the Hyperforce.

I never drew him, only once I tried recently. It’s quite relaxing. His eyes look like feline. 🔵
