Thank you for this request @batata-doce-com-farofa! It took me a while to figure out the direction I wanted to go, and I ended up taking two different approaches. Similar to Nerdy's request, I'm releasing this "abridged version" for the time being, but I have a longer, more in-depth version in the works that I'll release when it's finished! For now, I hope you enjoy this little slice of Brotherhood family bonding. 😄​​​​​​​ Prompts: 1. Pumpkin Carving 2. Isn't that my flannel? Characters: - Quirin - Adira - Hector - Varian Word Count: 862 Quirin carefully tipped Hector's bearcats out of his wheelbarrow, much to the animals' indignance. "Alright you two, time for me to load the pumpkins," he declared. Bali and Palaw shot him matching dirty looks, huffing with disgruntlement. "Go back to the house and curl up on the couch, it'll be much more comfortable," Quirin chuckled. To his slight surprise, neither of them scampered off. Despite being evacuated from their napping spot, they seemed eager to hang around and try to help him load the four large gourds.    Once they had returned to the manor, the bearcats eagerly bounded up the front steps and burst through the door to go find Hector. "Send someone to help me, would you?" Quirin called after them as he set the wheelbarrow down. As he was carrying the first enormous pumpkin up to the open door, Hector and Varian appeared with eager grins. "Ah, yes," Hector chuckled darkly, rubbing his hands together with anticipation as his yellow eyes glowed in the late afternoon light. "Time to scoop out your guts and cut you up into a work of art!" he crowed excitedly, then snatched the pumpkin out of Quirin's hands and darted back inside. Varian side-eyed his uncle for a moment, then grinned mischievously. "Are you sure he and I aren't related?" he asked as he made his way down the front steps to the wheelbarrow.   Quirin hummed nervously. "Hector's parentage is dubious, but I'm certain he and I have no biological relations. So there's no way he can be related to you."   "Mm-hm, keep telling yourself that, dad," Varian teased, giving his father a wink. He then gathered one of the huge pumpkins into his arms and began lugging it up the front steps.  "I heard there were pumpkins?" Adira's voice asked as she materialized by the wheelbarrow. She immediately grabbed the last two and disappeared once more, no doubt taking them to the kitchen table via some secret route she had made for herself. It was his sister's very brief appearance that brought a realization to the forefront of Quirin's mind.   "...What that my flannel?" the former knight muttered to himself, thinking back over the outfits each family member had been wearing. With a suspicious grunt, he walked inside and closed the front door. When he arrived at the kitchen, he couldn't help but smile warmly at the sight of his siblings and his son competing to see who could remove their gourd's innards the fastest and with the least amount of mess. The table was covered with a large cloth, since mistakes were inevitable, and tools for carving and designing were waiting on the nearest counter. An enormous wodden box sat in the center of the table, and all three were furiously whipping scoops of slime-covered seeds into it with surprisingly minimal splashback.   Each of them was indeed wearing one of his flannel shirts, looking like a trio of children in checkered nightgowns. 🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗 Tumblr's giving me grief so I'm splitting this abridged version into 2 parts.
