star trek much like alchemy must be in balance for every good thing we receive we must also receive an equally bad thing. for canon wlw seven we received the rest of st picard. for canon quick and easy medical transition we received profit and lace. i’m sure if they made spirk canon it would come at the cost of like, rick berman rising from the dead to usher in 1000 years of darkness

Hi! Thank you for this ask, it's always fun to answer😊 So these are my current or most recent favorite ships:

Itafushi (Jujutsu Kaisen)

It's my number 1 right now, like i love them so much! Their ship is really cute and i love the contrast between them and how they work so well together as friends and more! I'm always giggling and shit when i think about them even if they're doomed by the narrative :(

Zolu (One Piece Live Action/Animanga)

I really liked their dynamic after watching the live action so i mainly ship opla! zolu, but any content of this ship is cute and catches my interest! This ship literally made me write fanfics again lol More Zolu please!

Miyusawa/Misawa (Ace of Diamond)

Miyusawa my beloved ❤️ The first time i watched this anime it had been an instant ship, their chemistry is amazing, the pitcher/catcher dynamic is chef's kiss and just the development of their relationship throughout the show was the highlight for me! I watched everything again recently and i still love this ship very much, fave fave fave :')

Shiguang (Link Click)

They are everything honestly! The angst of it all and their beautiful relationship is just aaaah and the show is INCREDIBLE?? Whether it's friendship or more, they love each other so much. In my head they're canon, i mean after what Lu Guang did, for me that's just proof of his love for Cheng Xiaoshi... they make me ill

Renga (Sk8 the Infinity)

Sk8 was the anime of the season when it came out, the serotonin was just high with this one, especially during covid time. Reki and Langa's friendship was the cutest thing to watch and it was so genuine and then ep 7 happened and the ship just sailed really hard for me! So many cute moments while a beautiful relationship blossomed in front of our eyes!! Love!!

Kazurei (Buddy Daddies)

A new favorite from last year! The premise of the show was so engaging to me when it first came out and even though i knew Kazuki and Rei weren't going to be canon, we were still fed so well? Like Queerplatonic, same-sex parentality, friends to lovers trope??? we got everything and more, especially last episode like omg they're canon idc!!

Dreamling (The Sandman)

Fell in love with this ship instantly with just one episode and little content... the fandom got my back though, i was well fed and shipped them even harder thanks to all the fanarts and fanfics! i want season 2 right now and more of them!!

EmiSue (Dickinson TV)

Not my first wlw ship but definitely my favorite! From the first episode i knew they were soulmates and i wanted more of them together! The show gave us everything we wanted and i'm glad i got to witness it :)

Satosugu (Jujutsu Kaisen)

They're not Itafushi but they are Itafushi in some ways?? like parallels we can't ignore. It's a big ship in the fandom but i'm not as invested as many stsg shippers are, though i really like the ship, i read fanfics about them and i love their story in the first part of season 2! So much angst though...

Nobamaki (Jujutsu Kaisen)

I love them together, i think their ship is cute and has a lot of potential! I don't obssess with them enough and i should read more fanfics, but they're amazing so they stay at the top of my list!

Other favorites but not current (or more like 'not in an obsessed phase' type of way): Villaneve, Hannigram, Narlie, Willex, Thominho, Kagehina, Daisuga, Asanoya, Kuroken (I watched Haikyuu again so yeah), Furuharu, Sanarai...

This is a response to someone else's confession, #349, or to be more accurate, an add-on to their said confession:

Yes, some Spirk shippers are racist/sexist, but the majority either leave Uhura alone or pair her up with Scotty or one of the female characters because they like Uhotty chemistry or think wlw ships need more love in the fandom.

I've also seen some hate in the LWD and SNW fandom towards female characters. Some people hate on Mariner just for being Boimler's female BEST FRIEND but want another certain female character to be "(alien) Mariner" to replace Mariner simply because Boimler has most of his m/f friendship moments with Mariner, probably why Marinler and f/f ships more popular with the general audience than their ship. I don't even need to get into the hate Carol Marcus and T'Pring get, even from m/f shippers who want Kirk or Spock to be with their preferred female characters. But in my experience, most of that behavior is stuck in Reddit thank goodness.

strange new worlds u are starting to piss me off a lil bit tho. you have the possibility to invent an entire backstory for uhura and you choose trauma. you decide to go for spockchapel instead of the more obvious spockuhura for your compulsory heterosexuality shitfest. you force your actors to mention spirk while promoting the show and at comiccons, except you frame it as wild, unbased fan speculation (what the fuck is platonic brotherhood in reference to spock and kirk??? you fucking hypocrites). you also consistently pit chapel and t'pring (another woc) against each other to show how much better chapel is for spock than another vulcan. you cast a non jewish actor to play spock (again, that just pisses me off personally, peck is doing great as the character). you steal an entire character from the expanse (who is canonically a queer wlw in a poly relationship) and turn her straight and pair her with kirk. you then take beloved empathetic healer doctor m'benga and guess what, his backstory is murder, war, and trauma (oh, and he has a dying daughter). i'm starting to see a pattern

Kurtzman Trek is The First Time I Have Hope They’ll Confirm Queer Spock. (GASP!)

It continues to boggle my mind that people are accusing Spock of being written like a ‘typical horny straight guy’ in SNW

When literally all he’s tried to do

Is have a decent relationship

With his fiancé

And pretty much only his fiancé!

And yet, and yet, people are acting like Spock is some kind of, woman of the week tomcat everytime he talks to a woman, Uhura, Chapel, or T’Pring. He says something nice to a female character and it’s like “HETERO ALERT OMFG IM GONNA THROW UP” Ugggggh.

Which honestly actually pisses me off. And not just because of the entitlement and biphobia baked into it. Although that part does make my blood boil.

Like, what happened to Geordi and Data, Bashir and Garak, Malcom Reed, all that Rick Berman fueled sexist queer rep smothering bullshit, is NOT what’s happening, at all.

This isn’t trying to hook up Garak with 18 year old Ziyal, or trashing the Dax/Bashir friendship arc in favor of having him hook up with Ezri, or Reed being really gross about T’Pol, or deciding Chakotay & 7 of 9 would be hot because Jeri Ryan, established romantic subplot and wlw Janeway energy be damned.

Spock is trying to make things work with his fiancé that is literally it.

Honestly, I’m not exaggerating when I say if we are gonna get any kind of non-subtextual non-book confirmation on queer Spock it’s gonna be NOW.

Kurtzman Trek is responsible for pretty much all the not one-shot outright queer rep that we have in the franchise! Stamets and Culber! Adira and Gray! Beckett and Jill! Heck, this era has proved it isn’t afraid of making preestablished characters canonically queer thanks to Raffi and Seven in Picard! Lower Decks is where we got the Spirk engraving at the space station bar!!

i love long standing, legacy ships. the ones ive been seeing on my dash for 10 years straight now, and have existed even longer than that. cherik, spirk (most star trek really), destiel, those guys from shameless, harley quinn and poison ivy, etc. i wish there were more wlw i could think of for this list but irregardless, i love seeing them. considering how quickly things come and go, the consistency of the gay xmen is nice. hello old friend indeed
