I feel sentimental I'm sorry but–

You don't know how happy these stupid guys make me, I don't know why, simply seeing them causes me immense joy in any circumstance, in any medium, they make me smile at my worst moment.

It's funny because when I read Hell Park for the first time I completely ignored them, and my favorite character was Tweek (which is why he is the protagonist of my AU Coven Park), but for some reason when I read Hell Park again, their dynamic caught my attention and I loved them.

Gregory and Estella inspired me immensely, even daring to make my own AU just because of them, what for me was a way to avoid problems and harassment became something ambitious that I am currently working on and trying to give my all.

and not only that, they also inspired me to create my ocs and an equally ambitious story that I have in mind, in case anyone was wondering, these are the ocs that I mainly based on Gregory and Estella to create them lol

And all that thanks to two stupid characters from a canceled South Park AU, honestly, I don't know how I would be if I hadn't met them, it's impossible for me to imagine knowing that they have influenced my life from the end of 2021 until today, this was one of my first drawings 🥲

I know that the issue of the Gregstella ship is somewhat dense, although I don't classify it as "problematic" because I consider that it doesn't even reach that sick level that they want to label it so much. And I know that I am perhaps the most directly responsible for having popularized the ship, and I apologize for that, it was not my intention to attract weird people, because yes, I have seen that quite questionable people have come to like the ship, or at least less so on this side of the pond, but I refrain from interacting with them because I simply don't want to and I have seen very unpleasant things coming from those people.

I would be lying if I said that I no longer like hp gregstella, I think it is something inevitable, even knowing that it is wrong, it is something that I cannot help, but nevertheless, I no longer urge people to ship them, but I also do not harass those who they do it. I think people can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't cross the boundaries of what is considered healthy. So yeah, I still kinda like hp gregstella, but I doubt I'll make content of them in the future, maybe I never will (and I never actually did, other than edits), maybe I'll start drawing them again more frequently since the annoying comments stopped, but I will never make hp gregstella content, but if I do one day, at least you will see it coming i guess 🤧

To the point I no longer care what people think of me, nor do I care to be in the Hell Park fandom, but I am aware that a large part of the fandom likes my art and inevitably I am part of it, so it also makes me happy that people appreciate my drawings despite everything, I love you, especially to the gregstella shippers who follow me and who I talk to (who are mostly lesbians just like me, a little ironic lol) 😭💕

I just want to do what makes me happy, and if people are bothered by what makes me happy, you can just block me, no hard feelings. I will continue drawing my silly couple, because it is the closest thing I will experience to love, being aromantic, I like to write couples with interesting dynamics, but being part of one? No thank you 😦

Hi babe, just read what u published about getting hate on Clora from your latest chapter.

I just wanted to say that there’ll always be people that will throw HATE - on your oc - story- decisions u make for your fanfic-story-character. The important thing here is to know where you stand, what u like, how u want your characters-story to be headed. I knoooow for a fact that is jealousy, towards you, your creativity, your imagination, and they just wanna be “cool”.

I’ve followed u for a time now ( and sorry I’ve always wanted to message you saying how awesome u are 🥲 but didn’t have the courage to do so… but this drew the line! ) and how you manage to portray the feelings, story and the character’s personalities is truly unique. U👏KEEP👏DOING👏THAT👏.

In my country we say “take the things from who says them” ( poor translation sorry ) it basically means take the comments and opinions from the people who know about the topic, from people that are important to you, from people you admire, etc. Not from those kind of people who CLEARLY have NO CLUE about the HP plot 😅 which like u said, it revolves about sacrifice and love, or just for the art of hating an -awesome- OC. Like, c’on we’re too old for this hating on one and other 😒.

I know it’s upsetting. BUT: Keep on shining. Keep on giving Clora her vibrant and wonderful personality that u both share. Keep working hard. Keep creating.

THE FINAL CHAPTER IS HERE!

Chapter 41 -- The One With the Final Epilogue

Well, this is it! THE FINAL LAST EPILOGUE AND LAST CHAPTER of my world of Kismet. It started back in 2018 with some random Marauder snippets that I put aside to write about Sirius and Remus raising Harry which turned from a 25 chapter story idea to 360 chapters of A Second Chance and led me to write a prequel with my original Marauder snippets in The First Time Around. It ended with Third Times the Charm.

As I always say, I write this story for myself first and this is the final chapter of what I wanted to write and how I wanted to end my world of Kismet. I’m very excited to share it with you and I hope you’re excited to read it. I hope those of you who have been reading this story have been enjoying it even half as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it and that you like the ending as much as I do. And for those of you who don’t, I thank you for reading as long as you have and hope you find a story some day that pleases you more. There are a lot of amazing writers in the world and I hope someone gives you the ending you want.

As for me I am very proud of my final scene and of this trilogy.

I have no plans of writing anything else in the near future, as I do very much need a break, but who knows what the future will bring. These epilogues, while being very much a conclusion, still leave lots of holes for me to jump back in if I ever want to (old and next generation). It leaves the world of Kismet open to me in the future while still showing you that that there was a happily ever after for these characters (which is very much deserved).

Jily Fanfiction Recommendations

So, I’ve received more than one ask about giving some Jily fic recommendations... but tumblr is determined to drive me mad and if it didn’t crush after I’d spent hours compiling a list, making me lose everything, it refused to process my post as an answer to an inbox message *sigh*. But I’ve been meaning to make a list of my recommendations for a while so I’m posting it separately here!

Buckle up cause this is going to be a LONG post.

The first half consists of sort of canonverse stories (in that they take place in the magical world of the hp books) but not necessarily canon compliant. The second half consists of varying non magical AUs.

There are some stories that I’ve revisited time and time again over the years as well as others that I haven’t read since I was a teenager but remember liking at the time.

At the end of the post I’ve also included some fics and new authors that are on my TBR- I’ve hit a big slump over the pandemic, but I’m still keeping an eye out and there are some new jily writers that have began writing over the past 2-3 years whose work looks amazing and I can’t wait to check out!

Pretty much my holy book. Anything I say about TLAT will not be enough to describe this masterpiece that has owned a piece of my soul for years, more so than the hp series itself. The perfect Marauders era story to read even for those who don't ship or particularly care for James and Lily. No other fanfic has managed to make me feel attached to its ensemble the way Jules' story did. While it's abandoned, the way the last two chapters are structured could serve as a nice conclusion of sorts- in any case do NOT let its abandoned status put you off!!

A telling of the Marauders Era and the romance that shaped it all. Lots of teenage angst & romance spanning from the Marauders' seventh year until the end of the First Wizarding War.

Wand Woods and Cores

In planning my fic, I did a lot of research into HP and HL lore to try and make it as accurate as possible. In doing so, I had a wonderful time trying to picture what wands our emerald trio had, and came up with the following. Included below are the woods, cores and lengths of their wands, as well as notes from Ollivander on what each wood symbolises, and I highlighted the parts that I thought most relevant to our trio. I also threw in some floriography for the woods, which I personally think match our trio marvellously.

Dracaena – 10 ½ inches

Blackthorn wood

"Blackthorn, which is a very unusual wand wood, has the reputation, in my view well-merited, of being best suited to a warrior. This does not necessarily mean that its owner practises the Dark Arts (although it is undeniable that those who do so will enjoy the blackthorn wand’s prodigious power); one finds blackthorn wands among the Aurors as well as among the denizens of Azkaban. It is a curious feature of the blackthorn bush, which sports wicked thorns, that it produces its sweetest berries after the hardest frosts, and the wands made from this wood appear to need to pass through danger or hardship with their owners to become truly bonded. Given this condition, the blackthorn wand will become as loyal and faithful a servant as one could wish."

Core - Phoenix Feather

This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike.

Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won.

Ominis – 11 ¾ inches

Cedar

"Whenever I meet one who carries a cedar wand, I find strength of character and unusual loyalty. My father, Gervaise Ollivander, used always to say, ‘you will never fool the cedar carrier,’ and I agree: the cedar wand finds its perfect home where there is perspicacity and perception. The witch or wizard who is well-matched with cedar carries the potential to be a frightening adversary, which often comes as a shock to those who have thoughtlessly challenged them."

Core - Unicorn Hair

Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard.

Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may ‘die’ and need replacing.

Sebastian – 12 ¼ inches

Aspen

"Wand-quality aspen wood is white and fine-grained, and highly prized by all wand-makers for its stylish resemblance to ivory and its usually outstanding charmwork. The proper owner of the aspen wand is often an accomplished duellist, or destined to be so, for the aspen wand is one of those particularly suited to martial magic. In my experience, aspen wand owners are generally strong-minded and determined, more likely than most to be attracted by quests and new orders; this is a wand for revolutionaries."

Symbolism - Excess of sensibility, fear, Lamentation

Core - Dragon Heartstring

As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.

The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.

Last Daily Blog September 19, 2023

Well, it was worth a try, but this didn't turn out like I hoped. For one, I couldn't keep up with a Daily blog or Weekly. My priority has always been on getting my writing done first, and since I've gone to a scheduled posting of once a week for my WIP, I haven't found the time. And since the goal of this was for more fandom interaction, I kind of failed there, too, so I lost the inclination.

I'm also going to stop posting my weekly WIP fic updates. My last post last Tuesday, and Reblog the next day got one Like. There could be a variety of reasons, but this is consistent. If I post a rec for someone else's fic or reblog something, I'll get a fair amount of Likes and Reblogs. If it is my own work....... So, since I have less than 200 followers, it's not a productive way to promote my own work. In other words, my fandom ego gets embarrassed. I do understand that I tend to write niche or on-the-edge Drarry fics. From politics to trans-female!Draco with Harry during the 2-year transition, and this one where we have bi-sexual!Harry (Draco's is in Azkaban for 30 years, and Harry has to marry to uphold the family bloodline). I get it. LOL

So, one last time: Chapter 15 of The Azkaban Letters is up. Next week Harry enters the Portrait Room to meet all of his ancestors.

Okay, enough about my personal issues. BTW I will continue reccing fics and watchout, @hd-fan-fair is coming up in October!

What I've Been Reading:

I'm thoroughly enjoying @oflights The Star Splitter. This is a Drarry Chapter fic that is updated regularly.

Summary:

On a routine time travel assignment to the past, Draco stumbles upon 7-year-old Harry Potter and witnesses his neglect and mistreatment by the Dursleys. In the moment, there is only one solution, even if it goes against all his training as a Time Agent: he has to bring Harry back to the future with him. In which Draco burns his life down for the sake of his former school rival.

@oflights is such an amazing plotter. Currently, there are seven chapters posted (34.5K), and Draco is in so much trouble that I haven't a clue how it can get resolved. It's truly delicious reading about Draco taking care of 7-year-old Harry but knowing he shouldn't be.

@squintclover is a new author for me. She's got a very sweet 2 chapter fic going on where the first chapter has been posted. Twirling Cords (like in the muggle movies). I liked it so much that I perused her other fics posted and found this amazing gem. For anyone who loves Matilda and Ms Honey, Harry Potter; Miss Drew's Class; Y4 (2K) is a must read.

How could I not do this section without mentioning thee amazing @sitp-recs. Reccer Extraordinaire! I'm guessing every one of my followers is a follower of Liv. Her pinned post is so nice and simple, but OMG there is so much under all of those links.

I was in complete awe this past Spring/Summer when she did the Rapid Fire Rec series. I mean come on, how did she do that? Someone gives her a prompt, and she turns around and gives 3 stories dealing with that prompt.

Liv doesn't do Fic Finds; she doesn't tolerate hate or neg comments. What she does is spread Drarry (fic and art) love in every way you can imagine. Tons of love and respect for @sitp-recs for all she does to keep Drarry and some of those rare pairs alive in hp fandom.

OK so I'm kinda mad and your good on this topic so I'm gonna yell a bit.

Instagram has figured out that I like Harry Potter. But has completely misinterpreted why I mean by that.

I also follow a lot of art pages so I'll see a picture of a women with brown hair and a man with white hair and I'll think- oh some random ship with Cherceters I've never seen before.

and I thought I would be able to tell, becuse I know what Draco looks like, and I know what Hermione looks like-BUT NOOOOO

The Dramione shippers have completely basterdiesed what Hermione looks like and I hate it.

SHE HAS CURLS, MESSY CURLS AND IS A HUMAN BEING.

Does this make you mad too or is it just me. There are so meany reasons to be mad at dramione shippers but this one is very pressing to me.

There is no 'Dramione'. Women fantasize about dating a rich blonde man who lives in a mansion, find Malfoy attractive for whatever reason(I will never understand even 1% appeal of that character. He is the most undesirable man in harry potter in my eyes next to Greyback and wormtail. But again cowardice and selfishness are my biggest turn offs and he is the embodiment of those two) then self insert as Hermione to live that fantasy through her. They are two OCs bearing canon names in fanon just like the marauders. Sirius Remus Regulus are different OCs with canon names. Be it fanart or fanfic they are same. Completely different characters from canon.

Tiktok made these OCs even more popular. Most of those stuff you see on insta come from tiktok. Most of them haven't even touched harry potter books. They know about hp via fanfics lol

Hi! I really like your blog! I was just wondering, how do you manage to find canon-based marauders content? I’m pretty new to Tumblr and while I follow the main tags, I’m tired of the short and shallow Siriuses, activist Jameses, and naive Lupins that don’t seem anything like the marauders I fell in love with. And the hatred for Snape and the condescension towards his fans makes me super scared to interact with blogs since I have posted Snape content on my main blog and I feel like I’d be eaten alive. I’m so overwhelmed! Do you use filters to help you? Or is it just finding and following the right people? Thanks for any and all advice!

a lot of it honestly is just finding and following the right people. the exact balance of that is personal that it will take a while to feel like you're consistently seeing things on your own specific wavelength but it's definitely doable. i think once you find one blog you really align with, see who they interact with regularly, check out those blogs, then check out who those blogs follow, etc etc. i used to systematically go through likes and reblogs on posts i liked, but once you find a few blogs you really enjoy, you'll end up finding more like-minded people quite naturally. and honestly, anyone who expects you to have the exact same tolerances for different characters as they do is probably not going to be much fun to interact with anyway.

i use filters for things i absolutely never want to see but not everything gets tagged/not everything that is tagged is the thing you don't want to see (so much sirius solo art/gen marauder stuff is tagged wolfstar) but it works and i would recommend it for absolute no-gos.

the main tags unfortunately are not safe spaces anymore and tbh if there's anything worth seeing in there, someone else will reblog it so it ends up on your dash anyway. sometimes i look in the prongsfoot tag but if anything look at anti (ship)/anti (character) tags lol and sometimes finding people who dislike the same things as you is also a good way to find like-minded people - hating can work, kids.

specifically for mwpp stuff, in my broad experience, snape fans are often more comfortable with the morally grey thing so they have solid views on snape AND sirius, james and remus, tho obviously you get the ultra protective stans too. but def follow snape fans if you are even slighty interested in snape, it's a great way of seeing how other pockets of hp fandom function. also, you could have identical views on a character as someone but you love them and they hate them, for the same reasons, and i feel like the joy is in finding the same interpretation, it's very fun and just in life it's good to see different perspectives. i got unfollowed a while back for a snape post i can't even remember but it was like 5 people and honestly the right people will probably be cooler than you think about it :)

so really my advice boils down to:

know what you do and don't want to see

know what you can and can't tolerate seeing (things that annoy you or more serious triggers)

find connections through sources you trust

try finding a mix of people who like the same things as you do/people who dislike the same things you do/people who you might not always agree with in judgement but whose analyses and approaches are objective

and eventually you'll have a great balanced lil circle <3

Thoughts on the new Pokémon games? Any favorite Pokémon or characters?

They are pretty good! My favorite character is Nemona and my favorite Pokemon is Chi-Yu, who I have lovingly named "Splashy".

I do have some more in-depth thoughts if you want to keep reading.

Graphics (5/10)

Probably some of the worst I've seen in a mainline game, despite the character and Pokemon models being really high-quality.

The low-quality draw distance is to be expected, but it's still pretty jarring seeing NPCs without their hand animations fully rendered. Some hands would look like 🤚 when holding a Pokeball or even just a pencil.

The environments are really lackluster, and the weather can cause the frame rate to drop into the single digits.

Glitches are plentiful, but not in a good way. Pokemon spawning in walls, HP bars glitching in Tera Raids, environments glitch when camera is not at an optimal angle, etc.

However, the Pokemon's textures look absolutely fantastic. I love how shiny the Magnemite line looks. :3 I kinda wish the particle effects were better on Pokemon like Skeledirge and Chi-Yu, but that's ok.

Story (10/10)

I'm so glad the story ended up so much better in SV than in SwSh. I remember not being able to play through Shield after playing Sword because of how boring the story was. Not this time, though. SV continued to keep me engaged throughout the whole thing.

(SPOILER ALERT) I kinda wish they put more effort into making Scarlet and Violet different from each other regarding the AI Sada and Turo. I don't think it would have been too farfetched to have Sada a golem because of the existence of legendary titans.

Arven's story is fantastic, and although he is not a favorite character of mine, I've really warmed up to him after learning his goal in healing his Mabosstiff.

Gameplay (7/10)

I really thought Gym Leaders, Titans, and Team Star Battles would be scaled. That would have been really cool...

I was deeply saddened that they decided to remove the majority of the QoL features from PLA, and reverted to its traditional turn-based gameplay. It isn't bad by any means, but it makes the game slower than it should be.

Being able to sneak up on Pokemon and catching them off-guard was really fun, but I wish it can be applied to also catching them and not just battling them.

However, auto-battling is really cool and fun!! I love it! Being able to bring out my Pokemon and battle other wild Pokemon really sped things up.

Follower Pokemon are back!! Although I kinda wished they changed the speeds of some of the Pokemon when they're running/walking with you. Chien-Pao, I know you have a walking animation, please just relax and walk with me!!

RIP sparkling sounds when finding shiny Pokemon. I understand that it makes finding them more exciting, but I think it makes it harder for those who have difficulty telling colors apart to find them. I don't really get having to remove a feature that would otherwise make finding shiny Pokemon more accessible to others.

Characters (8/10)

Although no one really got me all "doki-doki" like Guzma has, the cast was absolutely fantastic this time around.

I love that almost all of the gym leaders have their gym challenges as something they do on the side. Their passion is something else that they're into and they bring it into their Pokemon battles, whether it's baking, creating art, streaming, cooking, etc.

The Elite Four is fantastic, too. It's great seeing another Gym Leader become another member of the Elite Four. :3

That said, I don't trust Geeta.

Overall Score (7.5/10)

Pretty good! It's a good start to an open-world Pokemon game, but kinda falls behind compared to other open-world games out there that have surpassed it by a long shot and were released earlier! I mean like. The franchise is nearing its 30th anniversary and it still doesn't have voice acting of any kind.

It's an obvious result of dev crunch, and I really hope they space out release dates if it means getting better games. However, I don't think this will happen anytime soon.

First anniversary post

I joined Tumblr one year ago, I joined Drarry fandom exactly one year ago 😱 A lot happened during that year and I wanted to write those littles words to thank everybody who's followed me during that time!

First of all, here my first very fic !😱 I joined @drarrymicrofic fandom and wrote this messy little fic one year ago, not knowing it will be the first of many ✨ Thank you for all the rebloggs and amazing comments, I love them preciously ❤️✨

Secondly, I want to thank @cluelesspigeons for pushing me to try writing for the fandom 👀 Whitout you, I wouldn't have so much joy writing again. Look where I am now thanks to you 😌

aren't you embarrassed to be a fan of something written by a transphobic antisemite

okay. i deleted the previous anons relating to this earlier today and didn't respond when they were outright death threats/hate accusing me of transphobia, sent to me all afternoon simply because i got called an "adult HP fan" by OP (for context, see here). truth is: i didn't want to show what "side" this hate was coming from. i think it's very detrimental to the cause, and actually harms trans people at large. this being said, i've fucking had it now, so i will respond.

first of all (and this is anecdotal, at this point), i fucking stand by what i said this afternoon about the original post. the post itself was fucking ludicrous. it meant nothing, was the epitome of someone trying to sound clever using words that held absolutely no substance in context (which is elitist and nauseating), was deeply ignorant and demeaning of an art form that has existed for centuries, and the author was incredibly hypocritical in their response to the backlash they received - not only from myself but from other creators. the fact that i've been receiving hate from their followers all afternoon and that "adult HP fan" was the only actual "argument" they could come back with actually proves my point. cleary, i have hit a nerve, lol.

obviously, as someone who has an entire podcast dedicated to the art and craft of fanfiction, the fact that these ignorant opinions "exposing" fanfiction as a "lesser" art form that "missed the boat on narrative multivalence" (whatever the fuck that means?) are still getting posted and reblogged on tumblr (of all places) is truly incredible. a friend of mine (who i'm not going to tag here because i don't want them to get hate), likened it to: going to Disney and saying all the people there are stupid and not doing their vacation right. While they themselves are at Disney. how's that for "complex figurative language," eh?

secondly (and most importantly, in my opinion), you and your idiotic friends think you're fighting the good fight, right? congratulations on your moral high ground. i have news for you: there are few things more harmful to the trans cause & community than sending death threats/hate to people on the internet. it makes you sound insane. and, you know who wants to make you sound insane? fucking transphobes.

this type of behaviour is so harmful to the trans community. it is so harmful to trans activists around the world who try and make educated, well-articulated points that support trans rights as basic human rights. (which, for the record, they are). and, as someone who does actually support the community, nothing makes me angrier than getting this sort of hate online. because, what if i didn't support the community? you think all the death threats and hate i've been receiving all afternoon would change that? you are not doing anything, here, to support the trans community. you are actually harming it by cheapening and endangering the point that countless people are trying so hard to make to our people and government. and, for what? to suit your own sense of righteousness and entitlement. it makes me sick. and, you should be embarrassed and ashamed of yourself.

this is the bloody reason trans rights aren't progressing. because for every death threat and hate comment there is a bigot at the other end who uses those to "prove" that trans people are crazy and a menace to society. i am beyond furious at this. and, here i am, deleting half the hate i got this afternoon because i don't want to harm the cause by posting it. because i tell myself that posting it will be one more "proof" for the bigots to latch on. fuck you.

this is revolting and fucking disgusting.

I love Harry Potter, in a sense, and this statement has managed to become almost completely detatched from the author, because for years I have only been consuming the fanworks — art, fics, etc.

It has a special place in my heart just for introducing me to fandom spaces in the days where Granger Enchanted still existed. It was special, and it will be special, and so I consider myself a "fan," as it were. At the same time, I feel that I've gotten more eyes on me since joining Tumblr, from a completely different fandom, following a wide array of people, and from time to time I see hostility crop up and it just makes me feel uncomfortable in the sense that ...well, it feels like it's very complex ? I don't agree with J.K., but it seems as if some people might assume that based on my engagement with fanworks / fandom (I know, objectively, this is untrue; I've tried to write for it before, without having the books, and the amount of online resources are astounding—there are even people making fics now who admit they've never read the thing (and I also think this is amazing, if complicated, but I could go on about that forever, and so I won't)) and this isn't my responsibility, but I still find myself worrying and talking about it less due to the fear of those assumptions. It feels as if I'm navigating a minefield by engaging in the fandom because of this. I have no love for Rowling—I feel like the fanfiction interpretation is often better than the pre-established world, anyway, and I enjoy that sandbox; have played in it myself, even.

I'm not really asking for advice, or. Anything like that, really. I'll probably create a sideblog. Figure it out myself, you know? But I sort of wanted to vent, because it's been a recent frustration + seeing it spike + the Drarry / Jegulus asks reminded me, and, I guess, I also wanted know if anyone else feels like they might be toeing a line, even if they know it probably shouldn't feel that way ?

Doesn't need to be HP related. Anything that could be considered contentious will work. I'd just like to potentially recieve some solidarity, as I figure that might help me through these frustrating feelings and get me moving forward faster.

Omg I am so glad you asked! I've actually thought this through many times before. I will sort characters and give my reasonings.

Hogwarts housing is generally based in your morals rather than character traits. It's the "why" that sorts you. Why are you interested in what you are interested in? What are your goals? Think Hermione, she seems like a stereotypical Ravenclaw, but she isn't one because she uses her smarts for bravery. Yes, she enjoys learning just to learn, but she was called the "brightest witch of her age" because she knew all of these spells and magical facts that saved her friends and helped Harry defeat Voldemort. She ended up being the Minister of Magic because she wanted to make the world better and be a leader!

So, anyway lol.

Katniss Everdeen- a Gryffindor for sure! She wanted to make the world a better place, she'd die for it. She made so many sacrifices and fiercely defended everyone in her life, even people she didn't know. She was courageous and she was a leader (although she didn't exactly want to be one).

Peeta Mellark- I'd say he's a Hufflepuff, he was fair and just. He was good with his words, he wanted to make things right, and he was always true to himself. He was also so very loyal, especially to Katniss.

Finnick Odair- Definitely a Slytherin lolz. He was a sneaky guy! He was great at manipulation and deceit, he knew how to get what he wanted. Like how he got secrets from Capitol people so he had dirt against President Snow. He was able to persuade Katniss and Peeta into following the rebel plan, his ability to charm people was likely why he was the one who was asked to bond with Katniss and Peeta and form an alliance with them early on.

Primrose Everdeen- I almost want to say Gryffindor for her because she was always so brave, but we have to look at the reasons. What were her goals? Well, it seemed that what she really wanted to do was help people, she was brave for the purpose of wanting to heal the injured. And while you could call that Gryffindor... this is where things get complicated for me... I feel like if she were more a Gryffindor, her bravery would be more like fighting for a cause or wanting to lead a cause. But rather she wanted to save people and give them a chance. She was patient, she was loyal to her medical studies and her family, she was hard working, she wanted to give everyone a fighting chance, even the Capitol people. I guess she could be a mix between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, but if I was a sorting hat I would probably just put her in Hufflepuff, I think she'd like it there lol.

Johanna Mason- I've been really thinking about this one and I think she'd be a Ravenclaw. She is brave, but she doesn't care for being a hero or saving anyone, she just wanted to be left alone, I don't feel like she is a Hufflepuff, and I don't think she is a Slytherin either. We never saw her being cunning or persuasive like Finnick was, if anything she kind of gave up hints that there was a plan quite a few times. (although when she won the games she did pretend she was harmless as a way to manipulate, but I still don't think that makes her a Slytherin, she was just smart af). I think she is Ravenclaw because is clever and witty, she also seemed like she would be rather creative. I'm not sure why, but she just gives those vibes. I feel like outside of the games, when she was happy and alone, she'd be someone who liked to create art and learn about different topics. I could see her getting into heated debates about things like politics and art.

Annie Cresta- We don't know much about her in the books, but based on my personal headcanons for her I think she'd be a Ravenclaw. She would be a very creative person who loves learning. I could imagine her getting very obsessed with topics and wanting to learn everything there is to know about them, particularly marine biology.

Haymitch Abernathy- A Slytherin!!! Even with how he won his Hunger Games, he was cunning and outsmarted the last opponent. Later on in his life, it seemed the only things that motivated him and really brought him back to life were rebel plans. Once he gets some sort of goal, he will do everything he can and pull whatever strings to get what he wants. He was never in the front lines of the missions like Katniss, but he did all of the planning and strategizing. He was the one who made most of the plans in the Catching Fire arena, he kept things from both Katniss and Peeta and played both of them, he used trickery to get what he wanted and he was very good at it.

Effie- She'd be a Hufflepuff I think, she was hardworking in her job and took it very seriously. At first she was loyal to the Capitol, but as someone who valued fairness and doing what was right, she later ended up being loyal to the Rebels once she realized the Capitol was awful (this was shown more in the movies, I think it is the only thing the movies added that I actually liked lol). She was also so very patient and loving towards Katniss, even when Katniss was super mean to Effie, she would forgive her. In the end, she was loyal to Haymitch, Peeta, and Katniss.

I keep seeing the whole "staff is pedophilic and transphobic" stuff floating around, but every Google document I've read on it only showcases fandom drama and argues why so-and-so fandom/ship that a staff member was a part of or reblogged is terrible/evil/bad/etc., rather than showing anything demonstrable of actual IRL pedophilic actions and transphobic attitudes. While I think we can all agree that the author of HP is awful, I don't think someone shipping characters from the books actually counts as them being transphobic or a TERF in any way. And note, I'm saying that as a trans person; I'm not interested in petty flamewars and faux fandom activism. Someone being a part of one fandom over another does not really change my life in any observable way, and I'm a little sick of people implying it does or using it as a cudgel to bash other people and accuse them of things that might not be true. I need real, actual transphobic rhetoric and not just ... Draco and Hermione ship art ... to believe that someone is actively, maliciously against trans people. In the same way, avoiding Harry Potter like the plague does not actually make you a perfect little angel of gender activism who's actively working towards trans rights and equality. Sorry, but not sorry! No one in either scenario is doing jack shit! Go to a fucking protest, donate actual money or goods to a trans person in need, and support trans-owned projects and businesses if you want to claim you've done actionable change, because I'm sick of arm chair activists who don't actually do shit but then act as though their word and online harassment campaigns are single-handedly saving lives everywhere. You're not helping anyone.

The way staff handled target harassment of one of their members was probably overly-harsh, but I was also on this hellsite when Tumblr ruined one woman's entire career in ecology because of baseless accusations of zoophilia(iirc), so I'm also not exactly sympathetic to the deleted after witnessing what that stuff can do to someone's career. Something something fuck around and find out. I'm especially not super sympathetic given now my dash is just fucking covered in "if you have ever liked [long list of seemingly fucking random fandoms and fictional ships] you're an evil, no-good person in your core who probably wants to vandalize buildings and kidnap children!!!! But we all already knew that because we're the Elect good pure beans who have never touched those Evil Fandoms isn't that right followers :)" type commentaries because of it.

This is just a personal rant, but as an out trans person who was openly queer and homeless for five years, who's actually affected by and faces real-life transphobia pretty fucking regularly, this drives me nuts. It's fucking fandom wank and it has literally zero moral judgement values whatsoever attached to it by virtue of its existence. People are just using it as an excuse to sit on their ass and claim they've 'helped fight against transphobia,' when in reality they're too terrified to step away from their computers and work to tackle the actual physical injustices trans people regularly have to wrestle with. Unfortunately, some of us--like me!--don't get the option to just hide behind a screen and pretend that if only we could eradicate all Harry Potter fans from the universe, we could magically rid the world of transphobes.
