Somehow, impossibly, Alice is EIGHT today! Day 1 vs. day 2,922.

Living with Alice is so fun and cool and great that I feel like we need to tell more people considering having kids about what it's like to live with an 8 year old. We talk all the time about babies, how hard it is and the relief you feel when they finally smile at you, but like, we should be selling it on the day your kid reads a fortune cookie that says "good luck will be smiling at you from across the room" then goes and stands in a corner creepily smiling at you until you notice her and break down laughing. Nothing is more fun than living with Alice. She is hilarious and so smart and kind and interesting. She's a good friend and a patient big sister and she loves playing video games and reading and doing math and swimming and drinking boba tea and there's not one single thing I'd change about her, other than pulling the tooth that got pushed back up into her gums and is now wedged in place against her big tooth. I'd change that one thing. I love getting to live with her and getting to know her and helping her become herself.

I honestly can't remember if my earliest Pokemon game was Pokemon Heartgold or if it was Blue Rescue Team, but the mystery dungeon series will be forever one of my favorite game series in existence.

I mostly remember my playthrough where I played a Skitty named Mittens with her partner, Charmander (unnamed, I think), though I decided to use my first ever team for this artwork instead. I remember the first time I played; imagine me as a little girl doing the PMD quiz to decide what pokemon I am and getting... Machop. LOL.

Little kid me REALLY loved Pikachu, like I had a Pikachu pillow from ToysRUs that was very well loved. That said, my bestie and I both reset our games to get ourselves to both play as Pikachu. Her partner, Bulbasaur, and mine, Charmander.

hello cuties @boobooslimpshart because i read the books as a kid and was EXTREMELY excited to see the movie because i loved the books so much. unfortunately the only similarity between the books and the movies was the names of the characters. they literally changed the entire story and then slapped how to train your dragon's name on it. the movie is also a great story but idk why they didn't just make their own characters.

#kid me was SO FUCKING MAD #i still have the whole series on my bookshelf to this day btw ♥️ the art and story are extremely endearing #toothless is about the size of a cat and none of the dragons in the book are really big enough to ride #the story goes that the viking children are sent into a dragon cave as a rite of passage and their potential is kind of ranked by #how hard it was to capture their dragon #hiccup is kind of the runty kid even though he's the son of the chief and he has big expectations put on him #and hes really nervous so he runs into the cave and plucks out the tiniest runty little dragon #and from there it's kind of an ash and pikachu situation they bond and learn to like each other #and then a giant sea monster is beached on their coast and threatens to devour the entire village #and hiccup and toothless manage to kill it! it's really such a cute and endearing story and i would love to have seen that version #as the movie #instead of what they made #tbh still mad about it 😔
