Thinking about he Knights making a game out of who can get Merlin to blush the most, with them only allowing a point to be given to the person if the blush reaches his ears. Quite frankly, it’s not as hard as it seems.

The winner is whoever had the most by the summer solstice and is allowed to be the one to ask Merlin to dance.

Can’t stop thinking about a very specific dynamic

A healer and a knight fall in love.

The healer spends hours healing everyone but themselves. Caring for the sick, stitching wounds, setting bones, pushing dislocated limbs back into place. Wearing themselves to exhaustion.

The knight gently tends to the healer. Holds them in a hot bath, rubbing the soreness from their muscles under the warm water. Applies balm to their chapped fingers. Brings them tea and tucks them into bed before climbing in beside them.

The knight defends everyone. Fights off the enemy with a sword and a shield, takes the blows intended for someone else, holds the line until help arrives, fights through any and all injuries they need to in order to defend those under their protection.

The healer defends the knight when they’re down for the count. When the knight collapses, the healer takes up their sword and defends them until they get back to their feet. If someone dares to say anything against their knight they get in their faces and the healers words are sharp and cold as any blade, cutting deep into their opponent.

Do you guys ever think that Gwaine was talking about Merlin with Arthur one day and he just went "Isn’t it sad that Merlin’s father died right after they met?" and Arthur was like "what", so Gwaine tried to explain because he thought Arthur was too drunk to understand and said things like "Yeah, you know, his father that served Uther but was then banished"? Because Arthur might be oblivious but there’s no way he’s too dumb to understand that Gwaine’s talking about Balinor.

Anyone else have those fandoms where you have your otp that you go absolutely feral for. And you get so obsessed with it that when you come across a different ship, you get whiplash for a second before being like, "Oh yeah, I remember this ship." And then your heart does a thing at something cute they did, and you're like, "Oh yeah, I actually seriously ship this. Just in, you know, a slightly more sane way."

To me, it's just the difference between:

'I NEED CONTENT OF THESE TWO LOVING EACH OTHER RIGHT NOW OR I WILL EXPLODE!!!!!!!!" *aggressively smooches them together*

And:

Merlin x Gwaine?? Simple answer: YES!!

Lol I love them together. I just love Gwaine already, but the fact that he’s tough and protective and also so willingly vulnerable and open with his feelings with Merlin??? It’s everything.

I WISH so desperately that he had known about Merlin’s magic. His protectiveness would’ve doubled and I think he’d even start back talking Arthur in annoyance because he’d see just how much Merlin does for him and how Arthur can’t see and appreciate it.

In my head, Gwaine is no doubt in love with Merlin. And even though this is horrible to do to Gwaine, I believe Merlin and Gwaine would be a couple, and then he ends up breaking up with Merlin because he knows Merlin should be with Arthur, even though he’s still in love with him.

That’s just how their story would go in my head. It’s what makes the most sense to me. Gwaine is a hopeless romantic and would give up his own happiness to see the one he loves truly happy.
