Traitor Hagakure vs OfA Hagakure on the nonsense scale
I mean we do have our 'Hagakure is actually fucking jacked but no one knows because she's invisible' headcanon.
But also question for people who were in the fandom longer than me: I know Hagakure being the traitor was a popular theory, but was was her headcanoned motivation for doing so?

Remember how Hori made us think Hakagure was the traitor and he left it as a cliffhanger only for it to be revealed that Aoyama is the real traitor? What if he makes us initially believed All for One is Izukus dad only for something else to happen?
Honestly anon, you cant really compare this two situations with each other and I will explain why. First of, hori never hinted in any kind of way that hagakure is the traitor. She NEVER acted suspicious or weird around others. She always was a cheer- and joyful young teenage girl around everyone else. Never did or said something that could be considered sus. The ONLY reason why a lot of people suspected her to be the traitor is because of her QUIRK. She is invicible, that was the only reason why people thought she is the traitor. Compare that to aoyama: from his VERY FIRST introducion in the manga something about him seemed strange. Me and a few other people like @psychomurderz startet to believe that he is the traitor LONG before the reveal happend, because at one point the hints hori gave us were just to obvious. In fact a lot of people who were certain its hagakure said: "aoyama is just to obvious. There needs to be a twist, otherwise its just bad writing or boring." And what was the result? Exactly the most obvious choice was the right one.
If a chicken looks like a chicken, makes sounds like a chicken and walks like a chicken, you can be sure IT IS in fact a chicken and not a dog!
Hori planted the hints that aoyama is the real traitor already at THE VERY BEGINNING of his story, people just claimed there needs to be a twist for a twists sake. The moment hori making it look like as if hagakure is the traitor was not so much a cliffhanger but nothing more then a red herring. It would be foolish of us to think that hori isnt aware about what his readers think or what theorys they make up. He was simply teasing hagakure as the traitor without the story showing any hints or evidences for that, because he knew most people would eat it up and revealed the real traitor right in the next chapter. Personally (and I hope that doesnt sound arrogant) I KNEW it was a bluff! Maybe its because I have already read a lot of storys and was part of many fandoms and at one point you just get when an author is serious about something and when not. I knew hagakure was a red herring, I knew severus snape was in love with lily potter since reading book 3, I knew in yashahime it was adult rin inside the tree and not kagome and so many people called me delusional and crazy. Guess who had the last laugh in all these examples 😏😉
So you see, dfo has pretty much nothing to do with hagakures fake reveal, because there are tons of hints and evidences for dfo while there was NOTHING that backed up hagakure as the traitor, except that people found her quirk fitting for a villain (poor girl) and that aoyama was to obvious. Like I already said, sometimes the most obvious choice and easiest route is the right one. Really good authors dont do twists for the sake of it, they plant the seeds throu out the whole story for readers to pick them up. Subtle enough for readers to question it, but still with enough evidence for it not comming out of the blue and people realizing that something is going on with that specific character or that specific situation.
So dfo has way more in common with the aoyama traitor reveal (and interesting enough people claimed with both theorys its to obvious to be true), because hori planted the seeds for both theorys from the very beginning. Aoyama was portraied as sus from his very first appearance in the manga and chapter 1 gave us already the first dfo hint, with introducing us to izukus quirk doctor, who a little bit later is revealed as afos minion and most trusted follower. Hori wove a connection between izuku and afo by connecting them with the same doctor.
Also garaki doesnt take everyone as his patient. He is the best quirk doctor of whole japan and only takes patients with a lot of influence and money like the todorokis. Inko and izuku dont fit that image AT ALL, except if hisashi is someone way more then just a normal business man with a normal income. An other hint we already got very early is hisashis name. The meaning of hisashis name no matter with which kanjis you write it, all fit all for one so perfectly like a fist on the eye. Hori will NOT make his readers initially believe afo is izukus father with putting (espicially if we remember how many people still deny it or say its way to obvious) so much hints in the story since chapter 1 just to make a twist for a twists sake. He is a better author then that! And now in the latest chapter even hawks realizes that something weird is going on with afo and it has nothing to do with rewind. Hawks realizes that afo doesnt trust afomura around izuku and afos silence about that matter speaks volumes. He is not worried about being rewinded to nothing, he is not worried about afomura, he doesnt even trust him. Afo is in a hurry and worried, because of izuku. Because remember izuku was never supposed to be part of that battle.

Oh- oh what? You guys managed to get back to the cabin without trouble?
what
The hell is Aizawa there planning them? A bomb? Poison gas? Well, I mean he doesn`t need to be in a hurry, he knows where they are and they don`t know that he knows that, or even that he exists, but even so, the fact that a lot of assassins-
wait, what do you mean by that Yor? How are you not sure about that? The impression I got was that the Garden was sure that there would be more assassins than actual passengers on this trip, how are you not sure about the fact they are here?
Tumblr media
Huh, I see... But that is, of course, if there even was a commotion. If it was poison, or let`s say, they burst down the door and kill everybody quietly, then nobody would ever find the bodies until way later on.
Also, why do you assume they don`t have a way of escaping? Lifeboats, additional smaller ships, even helicopters are all in the realm of possibility Yor.
Tumblr media
Yor please, I feel like you`re raising way too many flags for this woman. Why would someone leak the plans? Better question, who would leak the plans? Now I need to start a traitor theory? Is Kaminari in this ship as well? Fuck`s sake Kaminari, I knew you and Hagakure were up to no good.

BNHA WIP that I'll probably never actually finish. This was chapter 1.
Bad Girl Online
Word Count: 2,344
Summary: The students of class 1-A are nearing the end of their first year at UA, and the traitor still hasn't been identified. The teachers have gone over it countless times, and even the students themselves are attempting to figure out who the traitor is. But sometimes, the answer is either A. The most obvious solution, B. The least obvious solution, or C. All of the Above.
Story below!
"Aizawa, please! Young Midoriya could never betray his classmates! I trusted him with One For All, I practically put my career into his hands, how could he possibly be the traitor?" All Might shouted.
The teachers were having a meeting over possible traitors. At this point, they were desperate. It was the end of Class 1-A's first year, and everyone wanted answers. Even the students had their own speculations about a traitor. They had to get this over with quickly.
Aizawa sighed. "Yagi, we have to consider every possibility-"
"Every possibility?! Okay then, what if it was your personal student, Shinsou?"
Now Aizawa was getting annoyed. "I'm not saying it isn't possible that it isn't Hitoshi! I'm just saying that it very well could be Midoriya! He's a better actor than he seems, okay? I've seen him looking dead tired then when he realized I was there he immediately became his happy self again. Despite knowing him for two years, you barely know anything about him. You don't know what he's been through, and you clearly don't understand how people become villains."
Midnight tried to break the tension. "Okay, look. We obviously aren't going to reach an agreement here, so let's just mark him as an unlikely suspect and move on. Maybe Bakugou or Ashido should be next?"
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Meanwhile, the students of class 1-A in question had met up to talk about the traitor theory as well. They all had their fair share of evidence for who it could be, and they all came prepared with an argument against themselves.
"Okay," Iida began, "we have narrowed down the students in class 1-A to the following status:
Midoriya Izuku: safe
Kirishima Eijirou: likely safe
Yaoyorozu Momo: likely safe
Hagakure Toru: suspect
Mineta Minoru: very likely suspect
Ojiro Mashirao: safe
Shoji Mezou: on the fence
Kouda Koji: safe
Uraraka Ochako: safe
Asui Tsuyu: suspect
Sato Rikido: on the fence, leaning safe
Jirou Kyoka: possible suspect
Ashido Mina: possible suspect
Tokoyami Fumikage: possible suspect
Bakugou Katsuki: likely safe
Iida Tenya: safe
Todoroki Shouto: suspect
Kaminari Denki: on the fence
Sero Hanta: safe
Aoyama Yuga: possible suspect
Does that sound okay?"
Everyone in the room nodded. No one got offended if they were deemed a suspect, even Mineta wasn't that upset. They knew that this was serious. Even the bakusquad, most of which didn't believe the traitor theory at first, were paying close attention, and they had stopped joking about people being the traitor.
"But," Jirou said, "we also need to think about people we usually wouldn't assume it could be, like Kouda, or even Uraraka." Everyone seemed a little conflicted; they didn't even think of that.
"She's right," Kaminari agreed. "Usually what makes a good actor is their ability to convince people that they aren't acting-their ability to make people truly believe what they say." Everyone else nodded in agreement.
"Alright then," Iida declared, "let's go over the list once more, shall we?" At everyone's agreement, he continued. "Midoriya Izuku."
Kirishima gave an argument for Midoriya. "No offense bro, but you're an awful liar. Iida, Yaoyorozu, and Todoroki saw how bad it was when he tried to convince Aizawa-sensei that we weren't planning to try to save Bakugou."
Midoriya looked embarrassed. "That's... actually really fair." The other three nodded in agreement.
Iida nodded. "Okay, so Midoriya is still safe. How about Kirishima?"
Bakugou scoffed. "As if. Dumb hair doesn't have a bad cell in his body. He's also horrible at pretending that he doesn't dye his hair. He'd make an awful spy."
"However," Yaoyorozu added, "unless he is feeling a lot of either excitement or anger, Kirishima is usually fairly good at strategy, and he didn't think about Cementoss's quirk not having a time limit like his and Sato's, so he may have failed the exam on purpose so he wouldn't go to the training camp. Actually, now that I think about it, you could add that into Sato as well, they could have been working together on that."
Iida looked at the two in question. "Do either of you have any arguments?" When they shook their heads, he continued. "Alright, so change Kirishima and Sato to possible suspects then?" At everyone's affirmations, Iida altered the chart to put those two under possible suspects. "Okay, what about Yaoyorozu?"
"She can lie if she has to, but she doesn't like doing it. Plus, if it's something big, she almost always breaks from guilt and ends up telling the truth," Todoroki shared.
"She was also the one with the idea of putting the GPS tracker on the villains at the training camp," Tokoyami added. Everyone mumbled in agreement.
Shouji interjected. "On the other hand, her family has a lot of money, which means information, which could mean possible indirect contacts to the League of Villains, such as brokers or maybe even Yakuza."
"Well," she replied, "I don't have much of an argument against that. Where will that put me?"
Iida furrowed his eyebrows. "I'd say it would put you on the fence. Does that sound good?" At (almost) everyone's nods and sounds of approval, he put Yaoyorozu under 'on the fence'.
"Guys, don't you think this is, like, morally... I mean, we're basically asking ourselves which of our friends are most likely to betray us and lie about wanting to be a hero. Do none of you think that's kind of messed up?" Uraraka looked conflicted and almost angry at everyone.
"I... I know what you mean," Kouda agreed. "You guys are my best friends, but at this point, what choice do we have? We've had so many really sensitive trips and training exercises this year, I can't even imagine what it would be like if the traitor wasn't revealed by second year, and it would be even worse in third..."
"You know, Uraraka," Mineta interrupted, "maybe you're just saying that because you want us to stop investigating this because you're the traitor."
"He kind of has a point, Uraraka..." Kirishima said. "Why are you trying to stop the investigation?"
Uraraka looked shocked, and worried. "What?! I'm not! I just... You guys know me. I'm worried about what'll happen if we get this wrong. Our class will get divided. We're going to end up fighting each other trying to defend our friends, and then we'll all hate each other! Like, what if I accused Mina of giving the League the training camp location? I would be accusing her of being the reason Deku might not be able to use his arms if he breaks them again! Do you guys get how serious this is?"
"We know, Uraraka!" Midoriya yelled. "I don't want to do this either, but we have to! It's better that one of us is arrested than some of us dead. Besides, no one besides Mineta got offended when they were deemed a suspect, and even he didn't complain too much. You're the only one that wants to stop the investigation, and now even I'm getting suspicious of you."
Uraraka felt betrayed. "Wh... Deku, you... we've known each other all year, we've even been living together! How could you guys think it was me?! If I were to pick anyone in this class, I would say Bakugou! I mean, just look at how he acts. He's one step from being a villain already."
Bakugou got angry. "You were just talking about how you wanted us to stop doing this, then you go and accuse me?! Besides, trying to convince us it wasn't you based on what we know about you isn't even a mediocre strategy."
"Besides," Midoriya added, "Kacchan may be rough around the edges, but he's no villain. I've known him since we were practically babies. I can read him like an open book. I know all of his tells, and he's almost as bad a liar as I am. Plus he hates getting in trouble more than anything. He's not a traitor." Bakugou looked grateful that Midoriya stood up for him, but he didn't say anything.
"Fine. Do what you want, but I'm leaving. Unlike you guys, I'm not going to accuse my friends of being a villain." Uraraka slammed the door as she left, and you could hear her stomping to the elevator to go to her room.
Iida cleared his throat. "Okay... well, she's going on the suspect list then, and hands up if you want to put Bakugou on safe?" 15 hands went up. "Okay, Bakugou is getting moved up then. Next is... Hagakure. We've already addressed that, even though you can't get out at night because of the thermal sensors, you very well could during the day, especially if no one can see the door. It's also fairly easy for you to listen in on the teachers' conversations, which would make it easier for you to get information. I hate to be basing most of this solely on your quirk, but do you have anything to say in your defense?"
"No, I don't have anything. I'm sorry," Hagakure replied.
"It's fine," Iida said. "Mineta?"
"As much as I would like to say it's him," Jirou said,"reasonably speaking, other than the history of his... actions towards the girls, he really doesn't have any evidence going for him. As much as I... loathe to say it, he's likely safe."
"Fair enough. Ojiro?"
"Now that I think about it," Kouda quietly stated, "there isn't really any evidence going either way for Ojiro, so maybe put him in neutral?"
Ojiro sighed. "As usual. That sounds fine."
"Okay. Shouji?"
Midoriya looked determined to prove a point. "Guys, he literally lost one of his hands so he could help protect everyone because of Dark Shadow going out of control. There's no way Shoji is the traitor. He's definitely safe. I don't care what his quirk can do. He's proven that he's 100% loyal to us."
Everyone immediately agreed, and Shoji looked a little embarrassed. "Alright then," Iida smiled, "Kouda?"
"Well, his quirk is really useful for spying," Sero said, "but at the same time, it would be really hard to believe that Kouda is the traitor. I mean, no offense, but he's scared of bugs."
Kouda smiled. "None taken. I appreciate the positive argument."
Iida nodded. "Alright, does anyone have any more information for Kouda?" When no one answered, he continued. "Asui, then?"
"Well, she is brutally honest pretty much all the time, but there's not much emotion that comes with it," Midoriya said. "There's also the fact that she likes to go in the forest to find damp places, but we never see her, so, for all we know, she could be in the middle of town."
"Well, I can't prove you wrong," Asui replied, "so I guess that's evidence for me."
"Alright, so I'll say likely suspect then." Iida marked her on the list. "What about Jirou?"
Sato decided to say something. "She does have her punk aesthetic, but I don't think that's really evidence. Her quirk does make it easier for her to spy, though."
"But," Jirou countered, "I can't hear actual voices with my quirk. It's just vibrations and stuff like that, so, while my quirk is good for stuff like detecting footsteps, it would be useless trying to understand a conversation."
"Fair enough," Iida said. "So neutral then. Ashido's next."
"Well, Ashido has a really bubbly personality," Kirishima said, "and I feel like she would be the type of person to try to prove the people that said she would be a villain because of her quirk wrong, y'know?"
"Does anyone have anything else to say to that?" Iida asked. No one said anything. "Okay, Tokoyami then."
"I, um, I hate to say it," Yaoyorozu began, "but what with his personality as well as his quirk, he does make a likely suspect. There's also the thing with him, and Shouji, for that matter, have this tendency of... well, just kind of... watching people from the shadows. They could definitely use this for spying, but we've already addressed that the likelyhood of Shouji being the traitor is almost none."
"He's also fairly closed off from everyone," Sero added, "but when he does talk to us, he's really nice, so I'd say maybe in the middle, leaning suspect?" He looked to Tokoyami. "Is that okay?" Tokoyami silently nodded.
"Alright then. My turn."
"It's not actual evidence," Shouji said, "but I honestly think everyone here agrees that you could never do anything like that."
"Yeah, you totally listen to the rules too much!" Mina agreed.
"Alright. Todoroki's turn."
"It's kind of like, really obvious that you absolutely hate your dad, plus you don't show much emotion, so I think you're still a suspect," Kaminari gave, with several people, including Todoroki himself, nodding along.
"So still a suspect then. Kaminari?"
"If I may, Iida," Tokoyami said, "I believe that Kaminari is in the same boat as Kirishima and Sato. Sometimes he goes a bit out of character and acts very intelligent, even though he gets bad grades very often, so the failing could be a cover-up."
"But I- um, actually that's pretty fair..." said boy replied.
"Possible suspect then. Sero?"
"I would say the same for Sero," Midoriya said, "but, unless Midnight is a traitor, which, despite her... unique personality, is extremely unlikely considering she is a hero, he couldn't have easily planned the final exams, so I would say safe."
Iida nodded. "Last but not least is Aoyama."
"I think I will go ahead and say this myself, mes amies," Aoyama began. "Though my personality is very sparkly and non-threatening for the most part, there are a few people here that could attest that I am a little... creepy at times."
Several people nodded along and made general gestures of agreement.
"Yeah, that cheese thing was... intense. On the other hand, though, you are generally very friendly and easy to get along with, so I think you'd be more in the middle than anything." Midoroya looked fairly confident in his answer.
Iida cleared his throat. "Alright then, let's go over the new suspect list."

I don't wanna believe in the clone theory either. But ever since the league arrived on the battlefield I can't help but feel like they're different from the league we're used to. Like you're telling me they went through all that development just to be at square one. And barring Shigaraki cuz I believe he's the only one who's not a clone, Toga, Dabi and Spinner are.
To elaborate:-
Spinner looks like he's on drugs and more feral. He also seems to be more muscular as well.
Toga went back on wanting to fall in love with Deku which I understand (even though Fandom is calling it "regressed" which I don't agree with) But Toga can use Twices quirk via blood and Twices quirks are known to bleed. So realistically there is no Time limit. It's literally INFINITE DOUBLES.
Dabi I don't know how to elaborate much. But you can't convince me that he would switch out his FIREPROOF BLACK COAT for a white garb. Dabis also quite calculating even in his emotional moments. He was shown to beat Shoto with a single jet burn and was just toying with him. He also seems to burn more fater than usual. And while Twices clones are known to go down by breaking a single arm, Dabi's first clone SURVIVED THE ARM BREAK, So you can't tell me he's physically weak. (Don't use the Grandpa Piss knocked him out with a single kick because he was restrained at the time and Spinner, Magme and Twice were also knocked out).
I don't want to believe it but the league just feels OFF in this arc. The only ones I guarantee are real are AFO and Tomura. But the rest feel authentic. (These are my thoughts)
I respect that these are your thoughts, I'll put them out there for people to see.
But I still heavily disagree.
First with Twice's blood---honestly I don't think infinite doubles is the case. There's no concrete evidence that her DNA just becomes that person. Like is it Twice's blood in her body or hers?
I already am convinced that this is how Twice will be used in the end and nothing has convinced me otherwise yet.
Dabi switching his outfit out is symbolic. It's a funeral, it's his funeral. He even said as such. Also, if Toga was gonna clone Dabi she could easily just clone his clothes.
And again--I'm sorry but throwing this entire fight away just for it to be a clone is highly unlikely. That's terrible writing imo, that would be the cheapest fake. Worse than the Hagakure traitor fake out. And there's no set up for that, there just isn't. There is none.
I've talked about Toga at length already. Here and here. She is desperate for a change. And her seeking out Deku is not out of the blue, as I've pointed out. It's well within her character to do so, it's not a regression, it's her. She has always, always wanted the acceptance of Deku, Ochacko, and Tsuyu. Ever since she laid eyes on them. So I don't see any of that being a reason she is a clone.
Spinner--I've talked about him at length here, and someone else has here. He DOES have an arc to fulfill, and this is simply a regression on his part and will be a learning curve for him. He looks feral and it's entirely possible he underwent some change AFO forced on him, or maybe it was just a weird angle. Idk, but again I have no reason to think it's a clone. Especially because the moment where he accepted his role in AFO's grand plan was framed as ominous a foretelling of something bad to come. And it's been a long time coming too, Spinner having no real identity unless it was through someone else's means. Again--I see no calling for him to be a clone.
Touya-- yea he may not like AFO, but he also isn't putting the LOV first either. He's not. He never has, his plans, his revenge is his priority and it really shows now more than ever. He may not like AFO but he still took cues from him. There was literally no air of defiance in their interaction in chapter 335 when he was impatiently waiting. I feel like it's a really romanticized fanon version of Touya that would run away with the League, not canon Touya. I'm sorry, that's how I feel.
I've talked about the LOV at length, how I feel about their roles in the story: Here, Here, Here
And basically my main punchline is: Their arcs are not about each other. Yes as a group they navigated the nasty world they're a part of together, found community with each other, but none of that was ever really enough to stop the LOV trio from seeking their individual goals. Their needs and wants are still important. I don't see them running off together, especially after several times within the story where they've willingly separated to achieve their own goals. I just don't see that happening and I don't think they're clones.
It feels incredibly authentic to me. Imo, if it doesn't feel authentic, it sounds like it's not the scenario people wanted for them. I get that, but that's how I feel about those takes. The LOV are all desperate individuals who need help. They can't get that just sticking together and never branching out.
I’ve also been predicting ever since I hit the war arc chapters that the LOV trio would all face off individually with their hero kids, and that’s exactly what’s happening. None of this feels out of the blue or out of character, it feels very much like them. To me at least.
LASTLY: Horikoshi has made so many comments about wanting to end the manga this year, or at the very least, soon. He is wrapping things up. I'm sorry but the clone theory also sounds like something someone is clinging onto with hopes that the story isn't actually ending. It sounds like that, and like a fanon version of the LOV that just isn't canon. Maybe I'm an asshole for saying that, maybe I’ll get hate, but that's how I feel about theories like this.
I respect your thoughts—but I cannot bring myself to agree! We’ll see how it goes.
Edit: I linked to a million previous metas because they expand on specific topics way more than I am going to in this post.

https://www.tumblr.com/dekusleftsock/695123676994158592/httpswwwtumblrcomdekusleftsock69507806781477?source=share In regards to Izuku's dad being gone: One of my family members used to work with a Japanese company, and it was pretty normal for the Japanese workers to have family in Japan they hadn't seen in years. While it seems cold to other countries, it seems to be fairly normal in Japan as far as I've seen. My usual problem with the whole dad afo theory is: Why would he? It was established that Inko was married to Hisashi, so he must have married her. He then would've had kid, who he apparently didn't interact with at all and totally ignored. From what I've seen, he's more the type to take advantage of said child and twist them, not ignore them. Especially not when they become the vessel of his arch nemesis' quirk. I will admit I don't have a better explanation, I just don't think the dad afo theory fits well either. The problem with Horikoshi is that he's often intentionally hard to predict, so he's just as likely to make Hisashi a perfectly normal guy as he is to make a major villain. Can't deny though, that's part of why I love this series.
Agreed lol. The guessing game is always fun.
So, I’ve seen a couple of things go around. Some are goofy, some are less so, but my personal belief was that Izuku was supposed to be another shigaraki backup possibly, but Izuku just never had the same hatred he could implant into him or dabi.
And honestly? I could very well see this man as a family man. No kidding, it seems goofy but it’s established that afo cared about yoichi in his weird… way. He makes comments repeatedly about how all might is a bad teacher/mentor. He could’ve literally chosen inko because of how nurturing and loving she is naturally.
Personally, I hate the idea that Izuku had a quirk and it was stolen from him bc it completely destroys the narrative purpose. Like, being quirkless is supposed to be an allegory for having a pre-existing disability, why would you just have this be something he was just given at a young age that would be returned to him or smth????? There’s a lot of flaws in the dfo theory overall, and personally I’m not the biggest fan but making him just some guy seems a little more disappointing lol. I think whatever horikoshi does will be good. And hopefully if he chooses something relatively uninteresting he can flip it on its head and give us a proper ending to that loose plot line in the story. Horikoshi tricked us into believing that the traitor was hagakure which was the most uninteresting and trope thing ever, and then said “ah ah ah, it’s actually HIM and he’s QUIRKLESS, and it’s GREAT” so I don’t think he’s gonna disappoint. He did say it would he revealed near the end!

the U.A. traitor: what we know
in chapter 12 of BnHA, a security breach occurred at U.A. during which the famed U.A. barrier was compromised.
Tumblr media
one chapter later, the League of Villains invaded USJ with the intent of targeting All Might, using information apparently obtained during the above break-in.
Tumblr media
some seventy chapters later, the LoV ambushed the U.A. first year hero course training camp and kidnapped Bakugou Katsuki. this was a particularly disturbing turn of events for the U.A. faculty, not just because one of their students was targeted and taken, but because the location of the training camp was a closely guarded secret.
Tumblr media
these three events -- no more, and no less -- are the three incidents which sparked the notion of there potentially being a traitor among the U.A. faculty and/or student body.
fandom often speculates about the traitor in terms of who is acting the most suspicious, or which character would be the most shocking. people theorize that it might be Deku because of his connection to AFO, or that it might be Ochako because she’s someone no one would suspect because of how close she is to Deku. Kaminari was under suspicion because people thought his trademark dunce mode might be an act, and people thought Rat Principal was sus in the previous chapter because he was too eager to send the kids out into danger.
what people don’t seem to take into account, though, is that “a potentially suspicious person” is NOT the same thing as “THE U.A. Traitor™.” there could potentially be multiple people at U.A. who are collaborating with the villains, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Deku, for instance, almost certainly is passing certain information on to AFO unintentionally through his quirk. but Deku is not THE U.A. Traitor™, because Deku is not the one who stole the class schedule in chapter 12. Deku is not the one who helped orchestrate the USJ attack, and Deku is most certainly not the one who told the villains where the training camp was so that they could come and kidnap his childhood friend.
when it comes to pinpointing The U.A. Traitor™, it doesn’t matter who fandom thinks is acting suspicious. it doesn’t matter which character would make for the most “shocking” reveal. it doesn’t matter which characters just feel “off”, and it doesn’t matter which characters fandom thinks are being set up for something important in the narrative. it doesn’t matter which characters are in the perfect position to pass on information to the League, and it doesn’t matter which characters appear to be more than meets the eye. these are all trails that are fun to go down, but following them won’t bring us any closer to identifying a character who was already spelled out for us back in the very first chapter where The U.A. Traitor™ made an appearance.
Tumblr media
Hagakure is the only member of class 1-A who was absent on the same day that Tomura breached the U.A. barrier.
Tumblr media
and Hagakure -- and, interestingly, Aoyama -- are the only two characters whose locations are mysteriously undisclosed during the USJ break-in.
this last part is actually very interesting, because Aoyama’s behavior immediately following the attack is very odd, even for him.
Tumblr media
after Hagakure reveals where she was during the invasion -- which you’ll note that no one is actually able to verify -- Aoyama makes a strange face. he then asks the class if any of them knows where he was during the attack. and it’s only after he confirms that none of them saw him that he declares that his location is “a secret.”
my interpretation of this is that there is a very strong possibility that Aoyama was actually near Hagakure during the attack (they are pictured next to each other on the map, after all), and so he knows that Hagakure is lying. which is extremely odd! but because Aoyama is a good boy who loves his classmates and doesn’t want to think ill of them, he decides to sit on this information for the time being. maybe Hagakure has good reasons for not telling the others where she actually was. who is to say. and so he makes a judgment call and decides not to rat her out. but he does file this information away, and I think it’s an important moment.
but don’t let that distract you from the main takeaway here! which is that Hagakure is the only member of the class 1-A who lacks an alibi for both the U.A. barrier breach and the USJ invasion. Hagakure, whose quirk is almost tailor-made for espionage. Hagakure, whose personal life we still know almost nothing about. Hagakure, whose physical appearance is still unknown to us. Hagakure, whose quirk has never gotten an “official” reveal blurb in the manga, by which I mean one of these dealies:
Tumblr media
Hagakure, who everyone keeps dismissing as a potential candidate because they feel it would not be shocking enough, or effective enough, because we don’t feel as strongly about her because she’s always existed as more of a background, peripheral sort of character who we’ve never learned much about. which to be frank has never made any kind of logical sense to me. “I just don’t think this character whose motivations and backstory we still to this day know absolutely jack shit about is a likely candidate to be hiding something from all of us” -- yeah, I’m gonna have to beg to differ on that account, lol.
but again, at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter how shocking or suspicious she is or isn’t, though. the only thing that actually matters is who does and does not have an alibi for the three U.A. Traitor™ incidents. and that spells it out pretty damn clearly.
people who have an alibi for one or more of the three specified incidents: everyone except Hagakure
people who do NOT have an alibi for any of the said incidents: Hagakure
I rest my case.

thank you for answering !! and now i ask ... why do you think hagakures the traitor ??
No problem, love !
The reason why i think Hagakure is because of this video:
https://youtu.be/Opp8AoDsPWA
I think its a very good and detailed video, it explains everything very clearly and in my eyes it makes a lot of sense because i always thought Hagakure was kinda sus over the fact someone like her who’s literally only invisible was able to get in 1A but Shinsou, someone who has an amazing quirk was not able to.
Now am i aware of the fact Shinsou couldn’t really take out the robots with his quirk but neither could Hagakure really? I have hear people tell me that there apparently were buttons on the back of the robots though i don’t know where they got this from.
What i’d also like to add based on this video is the fact that Aoyama and Hagakure were missing with USJ and, like said in the video, Hagakure claims to be with Todoroki though she should of have been frozen BUT for the people who think this also makes Aoyama suspicious i’d like to add this:
Tumblr media
Aoyama is SCARED. The moment he encounters the villains, he hides and prays they’ll go away. Since the training camp situation was quite similar to the USJ attack i’d like to believe Aoyama was ashamed for the fact he was scared of villains so just played it off saying ‘its a secret’. Its a secret because he’s too embarrased to admite the fact he, someone who’s training to become a hero, hid for villains unlike his classmates who fought back because he was scared.
Tumblr media
Plus, my personal reason also might slightly be that of all people from 1A i suppose Hagakure being the villain would hurt the least;; i can not handle the angst if it would turn out to be someone like Kaminari.

🚨 BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA ALERT SPOILERS CHAPTER 335! 🚨
Hey! Long time not posting stuff but I'm here because:
Tumblr media
We thought Hori-sensei forgot about the traitor thing, that was just a hypothesis from Present Mic but NO! He lets us forget about it and smash the truth in our face!
Tumblr media
I missed the Gremlin face (even if we had last week his damn face 😂)
He scared All Might again!
Tumblr media
That smirk... I litterally like Deku but faint for another reason! Lol
Tumblr media
Last week, at the last panel, we had Bakugou looking at All Might but also fixed Deku, and this week, we have Deku being a fanboy again, looking at Kirishima but also glares at Bakugou.
Yeah yeah, I'm sure!... 😊

Fasten your seatbelts guys, I'm about to dive into the spoiler from BNHA Chapter 335 to prove that maybe Horikoshi had this planned the whole time!
Tumblr media
Don't read below the cut if you don't want to know the traitor reveal from 335.
Okay, so if the leaks are true then our girl Hagakure is the traitor. Personally I'm mortified because she was my fave girl.
BUT. I might have ignored a really big clue that we all passed off as a funny joke when we first saw it.
I'm of course referring to this:
Tumblr media
A manga panel from the Training Camp arc.
"Ha-ha, Hagakure sleeps in the nude."
...or does she? Is she actually there, or has she slipped out to speak with the League? This is the night before the attack on the students. All the girls are asleep so no one knows whether Hagakure is still in the room or not.
"No, you can clearly see she's there because her blanket is hovering over her legs."
Except, if you look at this adjoining manga panel, you'll see that a blanket can be raised up without anyone being in the bed:
Tumblr media
We know thanks to the second light novel that the empty bed in the boy's room is Iida on his way to the bathroom.
Again, thanks to the light novel, a lot of the boys are ruled out as accomplices since Iida has to fight his way past their sleeping bodies to reach the hallway (Ojiro included. Thank you that's all the proof I need that my tailbaby is good. I take no criticisms at this time).
But back to Hagakure.
Perhaps she actually is still in the room in the above manga panel, but that's not to say she stays there all night.
If we go back to an illustration from the light novel, we see the class A & B girls having a sleepover. Everyone is in pyjamas, including Hagakure:
Tumblr media
Why, then, is she the only one to shrug her clothes when she goes to sleep? We know from the season 4 second ending that she does wear pyjamas:
Tumblr media
I believe she chose to sleep nakey that night so that the others wouldn't know when she was out of the room. All she had to do was bunch up her blanket at the bottom of the bed and it would look like she was still there.
Hagakure slipped out, told the League where her class was, they stole Bakugou and in turn she ultimately led to All Might's downfall.
I'm sad Hagakure is probably the traitor, but the clues might have been there all along 🤔

Aoyama knew that Hagakure was the UA Traitor: A Theory
So now that Chapter 335 have confirmed Hagakure as the UA Traitor, I feel that Aoyama would also be tightly involved in this mini-arc.
ETA: this is debunked ahh Hori you freaking madman
First. Aoyama was the other person who's location is unknown during the USJ Attack
Hagakure said that he was with Todoroki, whether it's a lie or not, no one knows, except for Aoyama. I'm guessing he and Hagakure must have been transported at the same area, but Hagakure didn't notice he was with Aoyama, she started directly conversing with the villains there. After all was said and done, that's the time Hagakure took notice of Aoyama.
Tumblr media
Note, despite Aoyama's always-smiling attitude, his facial expression easily changes to one that is scared like in the Forest Training Camp Arc (or Bakugou Kidnapping Arc). My point is, Aoyama gets scared easily, and if he were to be threatened by Hagakure to not tell the details, then I doubt he'd make that kind of face above. Hagakure must have talked to him to keep quiet and told him about her reason and situation (I highly think Hagakure didn't tell him everything though)
Second. Hagakure must have a "self-destructive" quirk.
Invisibility is not "officially" announced as Hagakure's quirk. (If you read Makeste's theory, you'd know)
I'm thinking her invisibility may have come from AFO and she actually has a dangerous quirk that harms her body. Well then, who's the other character that has another "self-destructive" quirk?
Aoyama.
This is the only reason I could think of to keep Aoyama quiet about Hagakure.
Remember that the USJ attack is fairly new, meaning Class A still haven't formed bonds yet. That's why Aoyama who was revealed to have underlying anxiety issues, must have quickly empathized with the first person who's also like him.
Aoyama, at that point, may have also not yet understood the severeness of keeping Hagakure's secret.
For all he knows, her connection with the villains is just a one-time thing and he didn't expect for something like that to happen again.
Third. Forest Training Camp Arc
Aoyama was left with an unconscious Jirou and Hagakure when the LOV attacked. I think Hagakure was actually affected by the gas during that time, and that Aoyama also completely forgot about Hagakure and her possible connection with the villains.
It is in the aftermath that Aoyama started to piece together that this highly resembles the USJ attack, where no one should have known about the location of the training camp.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is probably the reason why he was extra scared, because it is only now that it has truly sinked in how dangerous Hagakure might be. Despite empathizing with her, Aoyama was scared because he saw first-hand the terror the villains can do, thus who knows what Hagakure might do again.
Fourth. The Cheese Incident
We all know that this chapter is very very sus. Starting with the "I know"
Tumblr media
Here, it was eventually shown that Aoyama was actually referring to their "defect" quirks. But if we're going to consider the theory, this can also be seen that Aoyama is empathizing on how Izuku is trying his best to hide a secret.
That's literally was Izuku was thinking before Aoyama "corrected him"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note, the reason I said Aoyama knew that Izuku is also hiding something is from the fact that he observes Izuku. He might have gotten a clue that he also didn't wanna share something with the class
Anyways, remember "Still Waters Run Deep"?
It is a French proverb that is "said to be about a person who says little, but who might in fact know a lot"
Also, I found an interesting fact
Tumblr media
Guess the other person who likes surprises??
Tumblr media
Yep, none other than Hagakure herself.
Last point I wanted to clear out before I end this post.
Why did only Aoyama chose that moment to give Izuku a "subtle hint" about Hagakure then?
This happened way past the provisional license exam arc. During that, Aoyama had finally realized that he was actually equal to class, that he belonged to the class despite his quirk condition.
That's why he finally decided to approach Izuku and make a sign.
Why Izuku? Prolly because he's the MC? Kidding, anyways, I'm thinking he got guilty over Bakugou's kidnapping so he himself used that chance to cheer Izuku up.
He can't call out Hagakure, whatever the reason may be, I don't have any idea.
This might be wrong, this might be right.
Anyways, that's it!
