Being Team Japan’s Manager:

The Team Crushes on Their Manager

Warnings: fluff, swearing

AN: this was due approx. 570 of you ago but nevertheless, here we go 🎉

Where do I even start?

Probably from the beginning because that’s when it ALL started

It was your first day as Team Japan’s new manager

No other job prospects huh Yn?

You were filled with hope and a renewed sense of purpose 🤩

You’d always loved Volleyball whether you played it, watched it or read a very specific manga surrounding it 👀

It was safe to say you were a fan!

The job seemed relatively straightforward

You’d come to work, take care of a bunch of world class athletes, clock out and repeat

Easy right?

Sure….

You walked into the building on your first day and it started almost immediately

There is no easing into this job YN 😌

“Well hello there gorgeous,” a very untoned blonde who seriously needed his roots retouched whistled

“Umm hi! I was wondering if you could-” you started to say before being unfortunately interrupted 🙄

“You want my autograph don’t ya sweetheart?” The blonde smirked, conveniently pulling out a sharpie that seemed to manifest from thin air

“Oh no, I’m looking for-” you try to say again before again being interrupted

“ATSUMU!” A voice shouted as you saw a rather angry looking man with black spiky hair marching up to you and the blonde, “what did I tell you about harassing guests?”

“I wasn’t harassing ‘em!” The blonde, known as Atsumu shouted back

Meanwhile you are just standing there like 🧍

“If you weren’t harassing them, then why do they look like they wanna run for their lives?” Another tall man with curly black hair replied, approaching from behind you

“SHUT YER TRAP SAKUSA!” Atsumu yelled again as the spiky haired man spoke

“If you both don’t get your asses back into that gym right now!”

Atsumu rolled his eyes before responding, “yes Iwaizumi” and turning to leave

But not before shooting a very unsolicited wink in your direction 🙄

“Stop making people feel so uncomfortable,” Sakusa berated as he and Atsumu argued back to the gym

“I’m so sorry about that. You must be Yn?” Iwaizumi asked turning to you as you smiled back widely

“That’s me!” You giggled as Iwaizumi’s eyes widened and his face turned pink at your sheer adorableness

Iwaizumi is just happy that you seem excited

He’s tired Yn, help him please

Iwaizumi begins showing you around the gym while various, rather large men walk past you

You excitedly ask questions, smiling and laughing

The guys are all like 👀👀👀👀👀

They’d heard about a new prospective manager starting but dang, you were way cuter than they imagined

After the tour you made your way to the gym with Iwaizumi to finally meet the team

As you stood there, adorable and bubbly, they all just stared at you like a bunch of creeps 😅

You remember in Season 2 when Yachi joined Karasuno and Suga had to tell Noya and Tanaka to stop staring…

Yeah that’s exactly what’s happening right now 😂

Iwaizumi is giving everyone his death glare because there is absolutely no way he’s letting anyone ruin this for him!

Iwa rn 👉🏻 🔥 👄🔥

Of course you notice them all looking at you but you simply think it’s because you are new

Delusion is always the solution Yn

“And finally, this is Yn, our new manager. I expect nothing but respect and kindness from you guys!” Coach yells as you smile and wave a greeting

“I’m so excited to work with you all!” You say, smiling bright as your eyes sparkle with excitement

This was the first of many incidents that sealed your fate

Now some of the team members fell hard for you immediately

*cough* ATSUMU, BOKUTO, HINATA *cough*

While others took a while to warm up to you

They all thought you were cute and sweet sure but it was your actions that spoke the loudest

For example…

“Hey Sakusa, I heard you are particular about laundry and hygiene, if you could please tell me the products you prefer so I can accommodate you? Oh and I’d you’d like, I can wear a mask around you to make you more comfortable!” You excitedly spoke, standing 6 feet apart from Sakusa so as to not be right in his space

Sakusa rn 👉🏻👁️👄👁️

“Umm sure I can text you a list and you don’t have to wear a mask if you aren’t comfortable,” he responds, honestly shocked because who are you

You wave your hands and smile, “oh no it’s really ok! I’m very accommodating!”

It was safe to say you’d captured our precious Sakusa’s attention

But it doesn’t stop there

“Hey Suna, I noticed you left your arm guards in on the bench yesterday! I washed them for you last night oh and I recorded a video of Atsumu flubbing a serve and accidently hitting Kageyama. I can send it to you if you’d like?” You laughed as Suna just stared in awe

Who the heck were you and why were you so amazing!

Not only that but you provided help to Aran and Ushijima when it came to taking diligent notes about the teams progress

Made sure Kageyama had plenty to eat and got enough sleep

You measured down to the very millimeter for jump heights, making sure Hoshiumi knew exactly where he stood against the other players

You stayed late to help Komori and Yaku with their receiving practice

You came early to unlock the gym for Atsumu, Bokuto and Hinata because lord knows they can’t be out of the gym for more than 8 hours 🙄

You even made sure the guys all followed Iwaizumi’s strict training regime to ensure they all stayed healthy and in the best shape!

It was easy to see why they all had fallen for you!

Competent, pretty, kind, amazing and funny? A perfect combination!

It had been about 6 months and you’d more than proven your worth as a manager

You’d even spent time outside of practice with all of them both individually as well as in groups

Surprisingly they’d all managed to keep their little crushes on you to a minimum

They respected you and didn’t want to mess up anything

When I say “they” I actually mean “most of them”…

Because, ya know, some people just can’t stop themselves 👀

It was safe to say they all knew each other had a crush on their precious manager

But for the sake of teamwork, most of them kept it to themselves

However, there is some people who can only hold it in so long

“I’m thinking about asking YN out this weekend,” Atsumu boldly and nonchalantly says

And just like that, the entire locker room halts

“Excuse me?” Yaku says, staring at Atsumu like he’s about to commit a felony

“What? YN is such a cutie and so awesome! Is it really a surprise that I’d ask them out?” Atsumu replies

All eyes narrow on the setter as he looks back confused

“And what makes you think YN even likes you?” Suna jokes as the rest of the team nods

“Awe come on! It’s pretty safe to say Yn has a crush on me, look at all the stuff they do for me,” Atsumu continues

“So? YN does that for all of us. Plus, maybe another one of us wants to ask them out?” Sakusa adds as Atsumu narrows his eyes

“Ok then, who wants to ask YN out?”

Literally all hands shoot up as the guys look around at each other, eyes wide as the realization sinks in

Soon the shock wears off and they narrow their eyes at each other like a duel in the Ok corral is about to go down 😑

“Well there’s no way all of us asking out YN would be a good idea. We’d probably scare them away!” Komori mentioned

“Nah, if Atsumu hasn’t scared them yet, pretty sure we’re safe,” Aran remarked as Atsumu looked at his friend, offended by his remarks

“What if we draw lots?” Hyakuzawa questioned

“That’s not really far to YN tho, what if they have a particular interest in a member?” Yaku answered

“First one to ask Yn out then?” Hakuba remarked

“Oh yeah, just a bunch of grown ass men running up to YN screaming ‘YN GO OUT WITH ME!’ That sounds like nightmare fuel!” Hoshiumi replied

“Ok so then we let Yn decide,” Iwa added, coming through the doors having just listened to the conversation, “we do our best to win YN’s affections and we let them decide.”

The team all nodded in agreement, ready for the challenge of winning their precious YN’s heart

The next morning, the gym felt different

You could tell immediately the moment you stepped in

“Good morning YN, I bought you coffee!” Iwaizumi smiled, handing you a cup of your favorite pick me up

“Thanks Hajime! I really needed this!”

“Hey Yn, I thought maybe you’d wanna have lunch with me today? My treat,” Yaku interrupted

“That would be awesome Mori!”

“Here Yn, I know how much you love these flowers so I got up early to go to the market to get some,” Sakusa flushed, pushing the flowers in your direction

“Wow thanks Kiyoomi! They are beautiful!”

Were these boys being weird? Sure

Were you gonna fight it? Absolutely not

Now these shenanigans continued for a few weeks and at first they were innocent

But then bringing you coffee, flowers or the occasional chocolate morphed into full blown outings

“Hey YN, I’m going to the art museum this weekend? You wanna come?” Komori asked as your eyes lit up

You loved art!!

“Hey YN, I’m gonna grab sushi tonight after practice, you wanna come?” Gao would ask as your mouth salivated

You loved sushi!

“Hey YN, I’m planning on going to the dog park with Hirugami tonight, you wanna come?” Hoshiumi would ask

Dogs? Say less!

“Hey YN, there’s a new cat cafe that just opened up, you wanna go with me?” Suna would declare

Cats? ABSOLUTELY

It took you a while to catch on that there was something strange going on with these guys

While the putting seemed innocent, their motives definitely were not

After a while, you’d finally gotten sick of it all and just asked

It was after practice, the gym was quiet

And there you were

“What is up with you guys taking me on all these dates for?”

… there to ruin it

Their amount of wide-eyed staring and red faces gave them away quicker than a smoking volcano

You sighed, knowing you had to tell them the truth

“Listen guys, I like you all but only as friends and coworkers ok?”

They all collectively sighed, having all been rejected at the same time

You felt bad but at the same time, they needed to know your feelings for them were platonic

“Hey we can still go out and have fun but it’ll only be as friends ok? Plus I have a boyfriend already.”

Their eyes all shot up at you, wondering who exactly it would be

“Wait you had a boyfriend this whole time?” Atsumu questioned

Yep :D

“Like before you even started working with us?” Yaku asked

Yep : D

“Ok then how come we’ve never met him before?” Sakusa demanded as you smiled

“Oh you have, he talks about you guys all the time!” You respond as everyone but Iwaizumi looks confused

“YN you’re not dating him, please YN anyone but him!” Iwa shouts, running up to you and shaking you as your grin devilishly

It seems to finally hit the others as their eyes go from shocked to horrified in a matter of seconds.

Before they can even process his name, they hear a “yoohoo Yn-Chan” radiate throughout the gym

Surprise an Oikawa ending 😅 if you didn’t see it coming, do you even know who I am? I will always work that man into everything possible!

Anime Recs Pt 2

Any BL fan knows that sports anime is all about the homoerotic tension between the MC, his team players and his rivals 🤌🏼 trust this genre to serve in both aesthetics and feels - which means it deserves its own list! I tried to include a little bit of everything from hidden gems like Ryman’s Club to big hits like Haikyu. Most of these have 🌈 vibes if you squint (sometimes not that hard) with YoI being more intentional about it. And for those who love found family like me, you can’t go wrong with 1, 2 or 6. I hope everyone can get something for their tastes and find catharsis as they cheer for these pretty boys. This is the second part of my anime rec series, you can find the first list here. Enjoy!

1. Backflip!! 🤸🏻‍♂️

Summary: Shotaro Futaba loved sports, but was never good enough. But watching a group of gymnasts in the park and seeing them in a gymnastics tournament, he decides to join their school and become part of the gymnastic team. With new members, Shotaro and Ryoya Misato, the team aims for the upcoming Inter-High tournament.

2. Big Windup! ⚾️

Summary: The story follows the story of Ren Mihashi, a pitcher who was blamed by his middle school team for their string of losses, and as a result suffers from low self-esteem and transfers to a different high school. There, the school's first baseball team is being formed and Mihashi reluctantly joins as their Ace Pitcher.

3. Free! 🏊‍♂️

Summary: Free is set in the town of Iwatobi, Japan, which is based on Iwami, Tottori. The story is centered on high school student Haruka Nanase, a gifted swimmer. After encountering his childhood rival, Rin Matsuoka from Samezuka Academy, he and his friends revitalize Iwatobi High School's swim team.

4. Haikyu!! 🏐

Summary: Junior high school student, Shoyo Hinata, becomes obsessed with volleyball after catching a glimpse of Karasuno High School playing in the Nationals on TV. Of short stature himself, Hinata is inspired by a player the commentators nickname 'The Little Giant', Karasuno's short but talented wing spiker.

5. Kuroko no Basket 🏀

Summary: The story follows Kuroko's journey to success with his team, with most of the episodes being based around one or part of one challenging game, in which Kuroko and his teammates, most notably Taiga Kagami, perform plays and have short conversations with opposing players in the heat of the match.

6. Run with the Wind 🏃‍♂️

Summary: After abandoning competitive running back in high school, Kakeru Kurahara has no desire to return to the sport during his college years. But when an impromptu shoplifting-related sprint brings his talent to the attention of Haiji Kiyose, he soon finds himself wrapped up in an adventure he never imagined.

7. Salaryman’s Club 🏸

Summary: The story follows Mikoto Shiratori, a recently unemployed badminton prodigy who has the ability of foresight. After getting fired from Mitsuhoshi Banking for losing a match for their company sports badminton team, he gets recruited by Sunlight Beverage to play for their team and become a sales rep.

8. SK8 the Infinity 🛹

Summary: In Okinawa, a group of hardcore skaters participate in a secret, no-holds-barred competition after midnight known as "S", racing each other on skateboards down a winding road carved out of an abandoned mine. Reki, a high school sophomore and hardcore skater, takes new transfer student Langa to S one night, and ends up pulling him into the world of skateboarding.

9. Tsurune 🏹

Summary: Minato joins the Kazemai High School Archery Club and along with his old friends and new teammates, Nanao Kisaragi and Kaito Onogi, they aim for winning the prefectural tournament while trying to overcome their doubts and shortcomings.

10. Yuri!!! On ICE ⛸️

Summary: Japanese figure skater Yuri Katsuki faces a crushing defeat during the Grand Prix finals and heads home, unsure of whether or not he wishes to continue his skating career. After a video of Yuri mimicking Russian figure skater Victor Nikiforov's routine goes viral, Victor decided to become Yuri's coach, much to the dismay of his coach, his fans, and his fellow Russian skater Yuri Plisetsky.

A Haikyu poem 😁😁

A boy who’s feet are stuck to the ground. A boy who’s known as the king of the court. A boy who promised to be the best around. A boy who has no friends of any sort.

They play each other in a faithful match. The end was decided before the start. The boys eyes locked as tight as a latch. This would not be the last time these boys would part.

They met again just outside the school. Trust made in the form of a quick attack. And so came the end of the kings rule. Eyes closed and a ball flying with a smack.

They made new friends and enemy’s alike. Cats, Owls, Eagles, Foxes and Kings. All defeated with the power of a spike. But soon the crows will know that loosing stings.

We say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. The third years are gone, everyone’s a year older. Even though the new captain is great and the manager too. Sometimes the gym feels a little bit colder.

When it was time one left and one stayed. The boy who grew wings went to Brazil. Sometimes his friends didn’t leave his head for days. He doesn’t know what would have happened if he stayed and never will.

On Japans Olympic team, a fresh slate. Those two boys met again. You can call it destiny or fate. But the numbers on their backs were 9 and 10.

MY TOP 10 SPORTS ANIME

Sports anime nowadays has a profound impact on today's society, inspiring countless individuals to pursue their passions, embrace teamwork, and overcome challenges both on and off the field. Here are my top 10 SPORTS anime you might like:

1. Kuroko no basketball

Kuroko's Basketball (Japanese: 黒子のバスケ, Hepburn: Kuroko no Basuke) is a Japanese sports manga series written and illustrated by Tadatoshi Fujimaki. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2008 to September 2014, with its chapters collected in 30 tankōbon volumes. It tells the story of a high school basketball team trying to make it to the national tournament.

2. Haikyuu!

Haikyu!! (ハイキュー!!, Haikyū!!, from the kanji 排球 "volleyball") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020, with its chapters collected in 45 tankōbon volumes. The story follows Shoyo Hinata, a boy determined to become a great volleyball player despite his small stature.

3. Slum dunk

Slam Dunk (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese sports manga series written and illustrated by Takehiko Inoue. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from October 1990 to June 1996, with the chapters collected into 31 tankōbon volumes. It tells the story of a basketball team from Shōhoku High School in the Shōnan area of Japan.

4. Yuri on ice

Yuri on Ice (Japanese: ユーリ!!! on ICE) is a Japanese sports anime television series about figure skating. The series was produced by MAPPA, directed and written by Sayo Yamamoto with original scripts by Mitsurō Kubo under the chief direction of Jun Shishido. Character designs were handled by Tadashi Hiramatsu, and its music was composed by Taro Umebayashi and Taku Matsushiba. The figure skating was choreographed by Kenji Miyamoto, who also performed routines himself which were recorded and used as skating sound effects. Haikyuu, Atomic Habits & Life

Salah satu yg paling membekas dari Olimpiade Tokyo 2020 kali ini tuh tim voli jepang, selain karena Takahashi Ran dan Ishikawa Yuki yang super duper cute (it’s practically a crime!) juga karena voli Jepang mengingatkan gue tentang Haikyuu.

Haikyuu is a story about a boy (Hinata) who dreams to become a professional Volleyball player in Japan. There is one thing he lacks though, he’s not tall enough. Volleyball is a game where it favors height, so his shortcoming is a big deal. However, through his journey in high school, Hinata tries his very best, together with his teammates and rivals to realise his dream.

Gw sukak bgt nonton/baca Haikyuu, karena bener2 ngeliatin perjuangan Hinata dengan bahasa yang ringan tapi dalem. Dari tim voli SMA Karasuno — yang dulu “pernah” tenar, dan sekarang jadi raksasa pingsan sampe si Hinata dengan ambisi besarnya dateng. Susah banget lah si Hinata ini, karena voli kan permainan tim ya, dan dia dari awal kenal voli gapernah punya tim/lingkungan yang suka voli. Terus, karena dia pendek, dia harus make up for it by anything. Dia harus loncat (di saat orang2 lain nyampe hanya dengan jinjit), belajar placing bola, teknik smash, teknik nerima bola, passing ke temen dan segala skill lainnya. Terus di cerita Haikyuu ini, si Hinata ketemu sama rival yang ternyata jadi teammate nya. Namanya Kageyama. Nah si Kageyama ini tuh prodigy volley. Jadi udah jago dari sononya, ditambah doi juga kerja keras banget buat teknik hard skills voli lainnya. Kekurangan dia cuma satu, doi bukan team player! Introvert mentok yang gabisa komunikasi ke timnya untuk kerja sama.

Serunya lagi, di Haikyu ini ngebahas tentang faktor faktor internal untuk jadi seorang atlet. Mungkin orang2 udah tau ya, tapi karena sebelum olympic 2020 gw bukan penggemar olahraga apapun, ternyata untuk jadi seorang atlit butuh lebih dari sekedar latihan fisik (yang menurut gw udah capeee bgt), lebih dari itu ada namanya peran mental kayak motivasi gueedee dari dalem diri masing2, yang meskipun naik turun, tapi kagak boleh padam. Motivasi, dan kekeraskepalaan si Hinata & Kageyama ini yang membawa mereka tetep konsisten (kata kunci lainnya) untuk tetep ga bosen dengan latihan yang diulang sejuta kali. Usaha usaha yang dilakuin Hinata, Kageyama dan segenap characters lainnya lewat alur cerita menyenangkan dan penuh komedi, serta semangat pasti bakal bikin lo jadi deg degan dan terpacu adrenalin.

While watching, I read atomic habits. Keduanya berhubungan. Sama sama tentang kehidupan dan perjuangan.

Kalo sebelumnya gw udah nyebut tentang latihan sejuta kali, itu karena gw juga baca tentang Atomic Habits by James Clear. Atomic Habits alias arti harfiahnya kebiasaan kebiasaan kecil. Apaan tuh? Jadi si Mas James (#ikrib) ini cerita tentang kekuatan kebiasaan kita. Apapun yang kita lakukan, sekecil apapun, kalo rutin, bisa punya hasil yang luar biasa. Antara luar biasa baik, atau luar biasa buruk — bisa kejadian. Everything adds up, due to compound interest.

Contohnya kata dia, waktu dia SMA dia hidupnya berubah total gara2 kegebok bola. Harus operasi, therapy, everything suddenly stops. Paused. Dia harus belajar semua dari awal, tapi pas dia sembuh (kurang lebih setaun) dia sadar bahwa ya jalanin aja satu satu, asal konsisten pasti ada hasil. Dari situ dia mulai ubah gaya hidupnya, dimulai dari kebiasaan tidurnya. Dia tidur lebih awal dan bangun lebih pagi. Dah gitu doang berbulan-bulan sebelum dia nambahin hal baru. Dari situ doi sadar, kebiasaan kebiasaan sepele kita bakal punya pengaruh sebegitu masif yang akan mempengaruhi hidup kita.

Di buku ini dia ngejelasin gimana kita bisa menyadari tentang kebiasaan kita, dan cara cara yang bisa kita coba untuk membuat suatu hal kecil bisa jadi kebiasaan baik kita.

Baca Atomic Habits dan nonton Haikyu tuh kayak berasa ditabok dan bangun dari tidur panjang. Mendadak hidup jadi lebih menggairahkan (#azeg). Tapi serius, hari hari sejak pandemi tuh berasa lamaaa banget kan ya, tapi tiba2 udah 2 taun aja berlalu sejak Covid-19 membuat dunia heboh. The days are long, but the years are short.

Both of them made me think…quite deeply. It’s like being roughly woken up from a deep slumber, which made me reevaluate my life. If Haikyuu was a perfect example, then Atomic Habits is more of a How Tos, and somehow I think that they stem from the same philosophy, stoicism.

Stoicism, yang menurut pengertian (sangat) kasar gw, intinya adalah tentang ga ada hal di dunia ini yang bisa kita kontrol kecuali diri kita sendiri. Diri kita termasuk pikiran, feeling, reaksi dan aksi kita. Dah itu doang. Menurut paham tersebut, banyak kesulitan/kesedihan yang sebenernya berasal dari persepsi kita sendiri yang ga jernih menilai sebuah situasi. Pas denger beginian, tentu gw agak ga terima. Kok bisa? sedih mah sedih aja kale! Etapi ternyata bener juga sik. Misalnya, kita udah rencana pergi dan lakuin xyz eh ternyata ujan. Reaksi yang biasanya orang keluarin kan kesel atau sedih, nah kalo stoic ngeliat itu yaudah aja gitu, pan ujan di luar kontrol kita, gabisa diatur, biarin aja terjadi.

Kenapa gw terkesan loncat loncat jadi bahas Stoicism (yang bahkan ga gw pahami terlalu dalam hahaha!) segala? Karena menurut gw, Haikyuu dan Atomic Habits ini bernafaskan filosofi stoicism. Tentang melatih dan menghadapi diri kita sendiri. Self control, self discipline & self endurance.

Contoh nyata gimana stoicism — atomic habit — haikyuu nyambung.

Di Haikyuu ada salah satu character namanya Shinsuke Kita, di mana salah satu kalimatnya dia berbunyi kayak gini

“I am built upon the small things I do every day, and the end results are no more than a byproduct of that."

Terus pas ditanyain kenapasih dia ngelakuin rutinitas dia sebegitunya? Jawabannya kayak gini:

He keeps a strict routine of these tasks without cutting any corners.

Shinsuke Kita isn't my fav character by far, he just has my utmost respect. There's still a lot of quotes from him that I just LOVE, but let's not get carried away.

So there’s that. Things that made me ponder & reflect on my life, and what little things I do that can make it better, even by an inch, even just 0,001%. Gw baru sadar hidup tuh kayak ngawang banget ya kalo dijalanin sehari2? Lebih sering kayak mindless robots. Bangun, kerja, tidur. Makan and interact with people in between.

Pengen apasih dari hidup? Pengen kayak gimana? Pengen jadi apa? Kebanyakan mimpi gw dari dulu jadi kaya (ya sekarang juga sih), tapi kalo kaya doang, then what? Sekarang jadi lebih iri sama orang yang punya mimpi, big dreams, and they’re consistently going at it. OH ternyata motivasi untuk ngelakuin sesuatu terus-terusan itu gak gampang. Ambisi, motivasi, kerja keras, konsistensi dst ini kan hal yang berasal dari internal diri kita.

Pun begitu, Atomic habit juga bilang, kita ga bisa terus terusan bergantung sama motivasi, karena yah namanya juga manusia kadang imannya kuat kadang lemah. Jadi caranya adalah membangun sistem di mana ngelakuin satu hal tersebut tuh udah jadi kebiasaan, udah ga lo pikirin lagi secara sadar, you just do. Salah satu kalimat di Atomic Habits

“Anyone can work hard when they feel motivated. It’s the ability to keep going when work isn’t exciting that makes the difference.”

Ada ga hal yang lo lakuin sesuai dengan itu? Hahaha let that stew!

haikyuu one shot 2022 REVIEW : a party reignited ✨

it’s been years since the last time i watched haikyuu, and gosh, the manga still gave me the same emotional attachment up until today. let me tell u what’s good about this one shot manga. GOSH GUYS I WANNA CRY SO BAD. let me cry at the corner of my room first before i rant about this one shot. furudate sensei is the best. IF YOU GUYS HAVENT READ THIS ONE SHOT I SUGGEST YOU TO READ THIS ASAP.

(this post will be full of spoilers so read by your own risk. and please note that i dont own any of the picture)

LET’S START THE REVIEW EVERYONEEEE

1. kuro supremacy

kuroo is looking fine as hell. thanks to him, we got to see all of our favorite characters playing against each other for the sake of him increasing the amount of volleyball fans in japan. AND CAN YOU GUYS SEE, HE LOOK SO DAMN FINE HERE UGH.

2. kenma kodzuken playing volleyball again

WHO’S A BIG FAN OF KENMA? kenma is back ya’ll and he’s back to play with hinata this time. it’s super refreshing to see him back to the volleyball play again!

3. OIKAWA AND ATSUMU INTERACTION!!!!

and here you go, ladies and gentlemen, the moment that we all have been waiting for. the interaction between our fabulous setters. yayy!

all of you might not know this but I LOVEEEE OIKAWA AND ATSUMU. back then when i used to watch haikyu, they have always been my favorite character (alongside with ushijima). FURUDATE SENSEI BLESS YOU FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN, IM LITERALLY CRYING AT THE CORNER OF MY ROOM

4. HINATA VS KAGEYAMA REMATCH

hinata vs kageyama interaction never fails to impress me at all. it has been the pillar of haikyuu after all. now we got to see them challenging each other one more time. super epic battle

5. ALL STARS REMATCH!

and as hinata vs kageyama interaction is not enough, they also provide us with all stars rematch (AND THIS TIME WITH OIKAWA IN THE TEAM Y’ALL CAN YOU IMAGINE IM SOBBING). oikawa hinata pair vs kageyama ushiijima pair. dang this is going to be SUPER EPIC. bless the lord for giving us this content

6. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE ENDING QUOTE AS ALWAYS

one of the thing that i liked about haikyuu is that they always wrote super catchy, relatable yet emotional quotes. and truthfully speaking, this one is not an exemption. I LOVE THE QUOTEEEE

“even if you lose, even if you win, no one’s going to die. evil won’t get vanquished and there’s no resurrections. it won’t be the end of the world.”

basically saying that after all of the crazy matches we went through before this one shot, this game is made just for fun. there’s nothing to be sacrificed and it won’t be the end of the world whether you lose or win the game, because sports are meant to be fun for every single one of players.

AN: I’m back on my bs again and here to feed everyone 😅 sorry it’s so sporadic but I hope this holds everyone over for a bit!

When I say you should be nominated for sainthood Yn, I mean it!

These guys are a lot to deal with

Honestly, you have no clue how they even functioned before you came along

I mean, the coach practically begged you to be their manager

Man’s is tired 😴

Anyways, it’s safe to say that practices are eventful

Despite’s Bokuto saying he’s “matured”, he hasn’t

“How come Hinata got more sets than I did?” Bokuto asks Atsumu

You 👉🏻😃 crap he noticed-

“It’s simple, Hinata was just on today and you weren’t,” Atsumu responses, walking away

Bokuto 👇🏻

Meanwhile, Yaku and Hakuba are arguing about something 🙄

“That’s block sucked man, stop moving your hands all over!” Yaku shouts

“I wasn’t moving my hands all over, I was setting up for a receive when I knew I couldn’t block!” Hakuba yells back

On top of that Iwaizumi is yelling at Kageyama for practicing too much

Sakusa is complaining about how everyone needs to schedule their flu shot

And Aran has just all but abandoned the gym because he’s just over it

Thankfully, when practice was over, you were able to go home and spend some time enjoying one of your favorite hobbies

Crafting ✂️ 🎨 🧶

You had tried a lot of different crafts and found that you were pretty good at them

Everything from painting to knitting, from sculpting to resin

You enjoyed the creativity that crafts provided

It could be stressful but definitely not as stressful as your day job

Nothing can ever beat that stress 🙄

Anyways, you’d managed to keep your hobby on the down low

It wasn’t that you weren’t proud, it was more like you just hadn’t found the opportunity to bring it up

I mean, it’s not like you’re busy or something 😐

It wasn’t until one fateful night when your happy little secret was finally discovered

You see, you were home, watching/listening to some show while trying to knit

It was a newer hobby you’d picked up, on top of jewelry making, crocheting, etc

A jack of all trades our sweet YN 💅

You are knee deep in ‘knit one purl two’ rhythm when the door bell rings

Now since you had very little life outside the team, you were wondering who it could possibly be

You didn’t want to lose your stitch so you stood up and made your way to the door

On the other side was none other then Hinata and Kageyama

Panicked you quickly opened the door and stared at them

🎶 when he looks at me, and I look at him and he looks at me and I LOOK AT HIMMM 🎶

Obviously, you are draped in yarn while dawning other comfy attire 💅

Arguably two of the most “chaotic” members of the team just stare at you

You look at them like “What? Can’t I have a life outside of being your caretaker?”

Of course Hinata probably thinks you just escaped some maniac who attempted to tie you up with yarn of all things…

“OMG YN WHERE YOU KIDNAPPED??” Hinata yells, grabbing onto your shoulders and shaking you rather violently

“I’m in my own house Shoyo…” you respond, brain trying to reconnect to reality

Leave it to Kageyama to help the situation

“HINATA BOKE YN ISNT KIDNAPPED, THEY ARE PRACTICING THEIR KNOT TYING SKILLS!” Kageyama screams, smacking Hinata in the back of the head

See… helping 😌

Sighing as the two dunces fight in front of you, you try to calmly correct their mistake

“I’m not kidnapped, nor am I practicing any nautical knot tying, I’m learning to knit,” you explain as the two cock an eyebrow in your direction.

Both of them look at each other and then back to you, confused 🫤

“You know what, it’s really not important! What do you two need?” You question, wondering why you were interrupted in the first place

“Ok well if you two could kindly go home and rest that would be much appreciated. You know how angry Hajime gets when you guys don’t get enough sleep,” you scold as the two men’s eyes widen

They quickly take off, racing each other to who knows where

As you close and lock your door, you think about how the next days practice with go

Honestly you figure brain cells are on your side since the two that just exited your apartment have a combined one on a good day

“Atsumu shut up! Knitting is something alot of people do to relieve stress. And with a team filled with dummies like you, I’m sure YN needs all the stress relieve they can get!” Iwaizumi shouts

“Oh my god,” you whisper as the gym fills with chatter

“Why didn’t you tell us about your hobby Yn?” Ushijima asks as you just stare at him and gesture to the chaos that is currently unfolding

Ushijima just nods and quietly walks away to resume his practice

“So YN do you knit? Like scarves or port holders or something?” Suna questions as he walks with you to your office

“Well I’m just learning the art right now but I do a few other crafts in my spare time,” you say, still ignoring whatever is happening on the floor

That’s right, you gather all your craft supplies and haul them into the gym one Friday during practice

The guys all stare at you like you’ve walked into the wrong gym

“Uhh Yn you do know this is a volleyball gym right?” Yaku jokes as you set up your table on the side lines and nod

“Yep! But after practice it’s going to be a craft party!”

“Craft… PARTY???” The guys all shout in tones varying from excitement to pure confusion

“Yes since you all want me to make you crafts, I’m just going to show you how to do it instead!” You exclaim

“You made sure to get non-toxic glue right Yn? I don’t trust some of the idiots not to eat it,” Sakusa remarks, staring at a few members in particular

You roll you eyes and smile, “yes Sakusa, it’s all safe! And I have crafts for everyone.”

Surprisingly, the guys are rather good at crafts

Sakusa’s flexibility makes crocheting and knitting a piece of cake

Atsumu’s flamboyant nature makes him great at painting

Hinata and Kageyama have somehow turned bracelet making into a competition

Komori and Yaku are great with stencils!

And you? You are just happy to be able to share your hobby with your favorite people 🥰

Coda Azakawa - The Powerhouse:

Coda Azakawa is a 25 year old Pro Volleyball Player with the Tokyo Great Bears in the world of the Haikyu!! Manga Series. Standing tall at 6’5” and weighing in at 265 lbs, he is a force to be reckoned with on the volleyball court. He is considered the strongest pro volleyball player in Japan.

On the court, Coda has earned a reputation for being one of the toughest and most aggressive wing spikers in the game. His power serves can reach speeds of over 130km/h, leaving opponents scrambling to keep the ball in play. With his hulking physique and shaved head, he exudes an intimidating sense of strength and dominance. Coda was born with a rare genetic condition called Myostatin-related Muscle Hypertrophy, which causes his muscles to grow much larger than average. This has given him an advantage in volleyball, allowing him to jump higher, hit the ball harder, and block opponents more effectively.

Despite his intimidation factor, Coda is a consummate team player who values camaraderie and team effort above all else. Coda has a soft spot for high school and middle school volleyball players. He often treats them like they are his little brothers if he is approached in public and will always go the extra mile to help them succeed. Coda takes his career as a professional volleyball player extremely seriously and takes pride in representing his country with the Tokyo Great Bears.
