Hematomancers use this sword to collect fresh blood, as well as release blood in attacks.

Fresh natural blood is used for many things, including healing. Void blood is taken from demons, and is commonly used as ammunition thanks to it's destructive, toxic properties.

Hematomancers can keep the vials of blood in their arsenal, or they can sell it in markets.

A bit of info on my story, Hematomancer. Including Darcel + Some lore and worldbuilding.

Darcel Veines

Hematomancer. Missionary of the Heartbound Church.

Any pronouns. 25 years old.

Darcel left the Heartbound church in a mission to achieve sainthood, after years in confinement under the wing of their mentor, Madre.

They started a jorney around the continent to kill demons, but especially to find someone important in their life who went missing, despite Madre’s wishes.

Darcel is very quiet and polite, even if they don’t have a really friendly face. They might be close minded and judmental without realizing, but they’re trying to improve.

Lore:

After discovering the Celestial Blood, also known as the Blood of Gaia, humanity recieved the gift of Hematomancy.

However, after the opening of the Hell Wound, demons started to roam the lands, eating anyone and anything in their path and spreading chaos.

Some Hematomancers believed that this was a punishment for humanity’s sins, and that a profeticized apocalipse has begun. But they still made their mission to protect as many people as they can from the demons. This is how the Heartbound Church was born.

Hematomancy:

Hematomancy is the hability to manipulate, alter and feel the blood in a spiritual level. Hematomancy is an hereditary characteristic, but the Hematomancers need to study and practice to become better

Hematomancers can heal wounds and diseases, use blood as weapons in attacks or alter someone’s blood to harm them in some way. There are many Hematomancer techniques that are yet to be discovered, or are even kept a secret from the common folk.

Hematomancy is also called blood magic by non-hematomancers. But many Hematomancers are offended by calling their hability “magic”. For most of them, Hematomancy is a science, an art, or even a blessing.

Heartbound Church:

The Heartbound church is one of the oldest Hematomancy religious organizations of the world, and is also the most powerful and influential by far. They believe that their planet, Gaia, is a benevolent god, and that she gave the Celestial blood and the blessings of Hematomancy as a gift for humanity.

The Church controls many cities on the main continent, and often try to conquer the ones they don’t own yet. They protect non-hematomancers, take care of them and serve as spiritual guides in return for their loyalty, obedience and services.

The Church is divided between three main Hematomancy groups, depending on what each Hematomancer can do. These groups are: Blood Hunt, Blood Care, and Blood Sight. Each one of these groups have different roles on the church.

Demons:

Demons are merciless abominations that are said to have originated in the Hell Wound, a giant sea of blood that appeared after an accident in a iron mine. They can also spread their “condition” to other animals, including humans, creating horrifying mutations.

Each demon is different from the other, and they can also change shapes overtime. But some of the general characteristics of demons are exponential bone growth, extra teeth, eyes and limbs, tumors, and many others.

Demons have delicate skin, and are sensitive to sunlight, therefore they mostly attack at night or cloudy days, coming from underground or Blood Pits. They hunt for any prey they can get, usually trying to consume their blood, or even their whole bodies, not leaving anything behind.
