I have thoughts about Able and Tron

Okay so. Able *cannot* be from the first grid, the ENCOM grid, right? Like, idk he just can’t be. Why would Flynn port over some random mechanic.

And yet. In the second episode Able reveals he has a FIRST GEN LIGHT BIKE. Y’KNOW. FROM THE ENCOM GRID.

(Interesting to note is that Mara distinctly says it’s “one of a kind” when she observes it)

And then notice how Tron *never* rides a first gen light bike in the show, even in the flashbacks, despite being the most likely to own one considering he comes from the ENCOM grid.

DID. DID TRON GIVE ABLE HIS “one of a kind” LIGHT BIKE??

Take into account that Able really likes that bike. Sure it’s an old thing so ofc he would, but still. Able calls it his favorite bike.

Remember that Tron isn’t one to show his affection through words, rather in actions (Beck has to be on the brink of losing his memories for him to finally call him his friend).

Able also has a Bit. Again, something from the ENCOM grid, and while it seems the Bit belongs to everyone in the garage, it’s often seen in Able’s office. It even has its own stand.

Where does he get these things? Is it another thing Tron gave him? There’s no currency to speak of in the Grid (I can only imagine the black market for stolen disks is to get in favor with the Occupation by providing the disks of wanted programs. Energy is simply a resource, not a currency), he couldn’t have ‘bought’ it anywhere.

Tangentially related, I know that people have noticed the Yori suit Easter egg, but I haven’t seen many think about the implications of Able having it in his office.

Why would he? Tron has enough space at his place to store the suit if he wanted to. Why put it in Able’s office? Does it imply Able had some sort of relationship with Yori? Does it imply he’s thinking about her at the start of episode 12? Why does Tron keep giving Able things and why does he trust him to such an immense degree to keep the suit of his former lover in his office? That seems like a huge thing to trust Able to keep, especially considering how Able and Tron’s relationship is shown to be strained at best.

Pair this with the fact they’re often portrayed as a bickering couple talking about a program who fills a surrogate son role, and you got me smelling queerness imma be real.

Either this is a kinda unusual way to imply a history between Tron and Able before the reveal, or they’re queer as fuck (maybe even both).

I know Mizisua is like the main doomed yuri thing here, but like can I talk about MIzihyuna because like I feel normal about them, so much.

Just Mizi, and her loving her saviors. That we have Sua who was in the dark and Mizi had showed kindness to, shining a light for them. But return they were someone human that understood them and stayed by her side enduring and reciprocating of her affection. That in the end saved Mizi by sacrificing her own life, whether fully planned or not so that she may advance the round and live on.

Then there is Hyuna who saved Mizi from the stage where she was supposed to die. That despite the tragedy and the loss of her world, she is given another one by the grace that is the rebellion and shown something that could be hope. That perhaps it isn't the same kind that she once had before, but it is another chance from Hyuna that guides her to loving life again.

And another point in that Mizihyuna is its own flavor of tragedy because oough I can't see this ending well.

That Mizi still grieves Sua and even if she was with Hyuna, she likely hasn't moved on from her old universe, after all how could she when it had defined her for so long. How could she ever do so without it hurting and perhaps making it feel like a betrayal to the person that died so she could life. Moving on from the one she devoted herself to for so long in loving. That despite everything that Hyuna has become to her and might ever be, it will never replace the empty half that was taken from her. And that even Hyuna might not be long either when there is a darkness in them, something seeking the destruction of not only a system greater than either than them but Hyuna's old shadow of her past. Because the narrative has its pattern and the world it is rooted in is one that is uncaring for any kind of love between those trying to survive and live again.

And I don't see it ending well. That in some way, when we finally see Hyuna and Lukas get their own little number together, it won't end well for whoever is going to be involved. And all I can think about is the fact that the hope in Mizi's life is going to be taken from her again and I fucking can't do this T-T

Thinking about all the potential ronance has if it were (let me have my delulu moment) canon in s5 like I’m not a stancy shipper for obvious reasons (I’m sorry but the six nuggets talk 💀 like no I love how their arcs developed outside of a romantic relationship with each other and frankly they both want different things and I feel like stancy wouldn’t be a suitable ending for either of them) and the most I see for them is platonic stancy.

And jancy…well tbh I was kind of skeptical of jancy since s1 mostly and this has probably been said before but I feel like Jonathan taking the pictures was honestly brushed over pretty quickly and not really handled well.

It wasn’t exactly the best foundation and it doesn’t fit right with me realistically because it was a creepy thing to do and wasn’t really given a bad enough implication in s1 and that’s not talked about enough. Like???

And the one time I remember when it was brought up by Nancy it was just about what Jonathan had seen in her and apparently he sensed her “being someone she’s not” or something (idk it’s been a while since I’ve watched s1 so I may not have quoted it exactly 😭) and it wasn’t the best way to push the loner vibe.

And S2 jancy was cute but with most of s3 being Nancy just frustrated and wanting to do more with her career they were pretty much on the wrong foot for most of the season and s4 jancy has a lot of stuff to unpack and honestly with the lack of communication that’s pretty messy.

I actually think rockie’s cute tbh I just don’t think enough of vickie’s character was explored for me to actually see an interesting dynamic there with Robin it was sweet but honestly pretty standard love interest. I just feel like we’ve seen more of Nancy to be able to understand her and see her with Robin.

And because Nancy’s has been pretty frustrated and obviously wants to be taken seriously something that I really liked with ronance was how supportive Robin is and how readily she trusts Nancy her abilities and listens to her and they both just complement each other so nicely with their differences like I see them as such a good team and a power couple.

And AHDGNTAGHRHVMRD let’s not even talk about the “are we friends as in officially?” scene what was that they both looked so in love I’m so sickkk. And Robin holding her hand and Nancy assuring her it’s ok 🥺.
