Artsakh has been blocked for 2 weeks 100+ days already, 120.000 people are deprived of their human rights, many of them are children. Tomorrow is Christmas, and on this very special holiday consider supporting indigenous christian nation by donating to good causes.

After 9 months of total blockade and after heavy shelling by the fascist dictatorship of Azer/baijan, the population of around 120.000 indigenous armenians had to flee Artsakh. Armenia is a small country, its population numbers at just a little below 3 million people - to accomodate more than 100k people, who left everything behind and need to find new places to live and work at, is a heavy task. I know a sorta made a small post along these lines the other day, but something a lil more official of!!

im kinda broke rn, between the recent stuff with losing my car and having to get a new one and work literally scheduling me 13 hrs a week. Im slowly losing money and it got really bad this month after paying my bills and everything and realizing I had just 300 bucks in my bank account.

My current job hasn't been working with me to give me the hours i need to make a living wage and iv been trying to get a new job for months with no success and it's looking like i could really use a lil extra support via online commission work rn until I can land a more solid paying job. I really hate to sound like a desperate wet cardboard box beast but I still need to insure my new car and cant afford it as i stand right now.

Ibou decides it would be a good idea for you two to make a vlog over the holiday break, just so he can keep his teammates updated. 

Switzerland was the choice for this year's winter getaway. You and Ibou had decided you wanted snow instead of sun this year, as you had gone to Mexico the year before.

It's barely past 10 and you can hear your boyfriend speaking, you assumed he was on the phone with one of his teammates, probably Virgil calling to check up on the two of you - something he tended to do with all of the players.

Your face buried into your boyfriend's chest, trying to wake yourself up when you feel him poke your side. You look up, sleep still in your eyes, fully expecting to see someone on the phone; you just weren't expecting to see yourself.

"What are you doing?" You asked him, the red button blinking - he was recording.

Ibou held the phone so you were both in frame, his arm around you. "It's a vlog, babe! Say hi!"

You roll your eyes playfully, "good morning vlog, it's too early for this." You tell him, rolling the other way. You can hear Ibou speaking, "she's not a morning person, give her a few hours and some coffee, then we'll try again."

Swinging your arm behind you, you smack him in the side as you pull the covers up again.

It wasn't until 2:30 that you saw the phone make its reappearance for the vlog. Your ski goggles on your helmet as you watched your boyfriend film the scenery in front of you; mountains covered in snow, the people scattered all over the place, the sun shining down on you.

Ibou turns the camera back to you. "Say hello to ms. grumpy, she's not so grumpy now. She ate and had coffee." He laughed, causing you to roll your eyes. He goes on to say, "you look like a penguin, baby, all bundled up like that."

You were bundled up for the sweater; winter coat, snow pants, boots and your gloves, hat and helmet cause you weren't about to freeze and die or slip and die either.

Taking the phone from him, you turned the camera to face him. "You can't talk when you're bundled up ten times more than me."

Ibou was wearing about 5 layers, scarves, gloves, hat and everything in between. A blizzard didn't stand a chance against him.

He put his phone away, the two of you spent the rest of the afternoon on the slopes.

It wasn't until later, when you were getting ready for dinner that you heard your boyfriend talking to himself again.

The man showing the vlog around the cabin you were staying in. You were sitting at the vanity, fixing the front pieces of your hair when his footsteps came up the stairs and into the bedroom.

"And this is the master suite, we can find the most beautiful woman in the world getting ready for dinner." He says, flipping the camera to face you. You jokingly look around, "who are you talking to ?"

"You, of course." He smiles, his voice sincere.

You smile, going back to your routine as he shows the vlog the view from your bedroom window.

"So," he turns to you again, "what is that? What are you putting on?"

"Dior, baby." You tell him, swiping the lipstick over your lips. "Shade.." you checked the bottom of the tube. "999, velvet."

"Oh Dior? Très chic, mon amour." (very fancy, my love.)

You nod, pressing your lips together. "I thought so too, but I think I have too much on." You get up, walking over to him.

Ibou's got the phone facing the two of you, your hand on his jaw as you get on your tiptoes, kissing his cheek. There's a red kiss mark left behind on his face, the man smiles when he sees it and you check your lipstick in the camera.

"Perfect."

"I think it's time for the vlog to end." He says, pulling you to him before kissing you. The phone gets tossed somewhere as Ibou picks you up, carrying you to the bed.

Reddit does this thing where they try to crash a charity site by donating too much once a year

TL;DR: here's a super cool charity that gives gifts to foster kids, donate if you can or reblog to signal boost.

The charity is One Simple Wish, where you send money to pay for things for kids in foster care. There are over 500 thousand kids in foster care each year just in the United States, and 22 thousand of those kids will age out alone without stable conditions and with little resources and knowledge to survive.

One Simple Wish helps by allowing you to grant a wish for a foster kid or former foster youth, which could be anything from a new pair of shoes for Christmas to helping former foster youth stock their pantries to bed frames and bikes. And you get to leave them a note that shows how much you care. A lot of these are expensive though, so you also have the option of donating any amount of money you're able to directly to the charity.

Are we going to let Reddit be better at this than us? Sure, we can be known as the site that creates a fandom for a nonexistent movie. That's awesome, and I love it. But we could also be known as the site that was better than reddit at breaking this charity's website by donating so much their servers were overloaded.

This doesn't mean we have to grant every wish possible and spend hundreds of dollars each. If we all rally together, giving whatever we can, even if that's only two or three dollars for you, we can do this. And if you can't give anything, that's fine, too. Reblog and boost this post. Tell your friends. Spread the word.

Most of these kids just want something special for Christmas because they don't have much. Can we help them get that?

And if for whatever reason, you don't want to donate to them, my next reccomendation is @sharonsaysso on insta. She's holding her holiday giving drive, where her followers have donated over 500 thousand dollars to help people in need over the past few days. Her community over there is wonderful, too. Her drive is only lasting a few more days, though, so you have to donate fast for hers.

PHSI 2023 Is Officially Over!

I closed the submission form this morning and just mailed/emailed the fifth and final batch of cards! I sent everyone in the fifth batch an email today that either confirmed your Holiday Card has shipped or included your eCard, so double check your inbox and junk folders if you didn’t see anything come through. Please wait patiently for the delivery of your physical Holiday Cards; they can take up to 2 weeks to be delivered.

Also, thanks to everyone who has donated to my Ko-fi for this project so far! Your kindness has covered 61% of the postage and materials for everyone’s cards so far this year!

PHSI 2023 might be over, but not everyone's cards have been covered yet!

The percentage grew from last week again (thank you everyone who donated), however there's still a need to spread kindness and support PHSI by covering the cost of your card or someone else's! Over the course of PHSI this year I mailed almost $400 USD of Holiday Cards! As of today I have received just over $225 USD in donations. Ko-Fi doesn't take any fees out of donations, but PayPal does (about 20% on average), so the donated amount I receive to pay for the cards is even lower!

If you can help cover the cost of this wonderful fandom tradition, even in just a small amount, please consider donating so everyone’s cards can be covered this year. After all, doing something nice for others is what this initiative is all about! Random Interesting PHSI 2023 Stats!

This year I mailed/emailed a total of 112 cards all over the world! These cards reached Portal Fans in lots of places, like the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Poland, India, the US, Romania, Italy, and New Zealand!

About 83% of people chose to receive a Physical Card this year, which is good feedback considering the change from making the cards myself to using an online service. While the cost per card ended up being a lot higher (just over 2x the cost of making them myself), it was definitely worth it to not have to print, cut, fold, type, label, and mail them all on my own!

I plan on running PHSI the same way next year, as well as looking for ways to bring the cost of the cards down while maintaining the same level of quality and novelty you're all used to! Thanks again to everyone who participated this year, and special thanks to @purrtal2 for providing the artwork for this year's cards!
