hey! im kinda curious as to what your take on blossoomers dynamic is hsjsjjs
i rlly like ur writing and how u portray the ppg characters from what I’ve seen so I’d just like to properly see what u think of them 😖
sorry if you’ve gotten a question like this before!
It’s nbd! There so few posts about blossom and boomer that even if I had answered a similar question before, who am I to deny someone their rare pair content lolol
I did generally lay out how I interpret the boys and girls relationship here if you’re interested :) there’s also more below the cut!
Tbh Blossom’s one of those characters I have a hard time writing. Honest confession, she has a character personality I usually find boring probably because she reminds me too much of myself 😂 so I’m always trying to find ways to make her more fun for me to write. And when I realized I could do that best not shipping her with brick, I started pairing her with others, like Princess!
I ended up liking her relationship with Boomer more than I thought I would. To me, it doesn’t have to be a romantic relationship, but this duo would be so much fun to see in action.
When I’m pairing Blossom and Boomer together, I characterize Boomer as someone who wants to be respected and treated as a mental equal even though he’s not “traditionally” smart. And I’d believe Blossom would be able to give him that.
Blossom isn’t as rude as Brick, so she’d likely entertain Boomer’s ideas and see the merit in them before immediately putting them down, like his brothers do.
I also don’t think Blossom would be cruel enough to call people dumb or stupid (unless it’s her sisters, but that’s sister stuff, or if whoever really deserves it), so when Boomer starts beating himself up about being dumb in front of Blossom, who he sees as incredibly smart, and hearing her say “no, don’t say that about yourself, everyone’s smart in their own way,” that would probably be akin to a compliment that would go right to his ego.
So really, their relationship is built on shared respect. Blossom doesn’t treat Boomer like he’s incompetent, and in turn, Boomer listens to Blossom without arguing back like the sassy kid he generally is in the comics/show.
I also think their “flaws” compliment each other. Blossom’s serious, neat, and bookish. Boomer’s none of those. And while you could argue that Butch or Brick aren’t either, I’d say that Boomer is more so. Like going off fanon stereotypes, Brick is seen as her intellectual equal and they end up being too similar, and when paired with Butch, he’s characterized as a loyal henchman bad boy, which sort of exacerbates the characterization pedestal Blossom sometimes gets put on (does that make sense lol?). Like being a henchman sort of highlights Blossoms flaws in a bad way, not a “I’m forcing this character to grow” way, which depending on the story, can work out, don’t get me wrong.
But while Boomer listens to Blossom, he’s still Boomer about it. He hears what she has to say but sometimes he isn’t listening and he misinterprets what she really means, so they get into various forms of shenanigans, that stresses Blossom out but because Boomer is so “go with the flow” he ends up forcing her to relax and have fun. His general chaotic personality would force her to relax, and her serious lawful-good energy would force him to grow up and be responsible.
Basically, I think Boomer would be better at getting Blossom out of her comfort zone and vise versa.
And because they could have this vibrant relationship, you could really pull some meaningful character growth out of them and make a fic fun to read/write even if they’re not shipped together! But that’s just one way to construct their dynamic. It really just depends on the story you’re putting them in and the characterizations you want them to have!
It’d be fun to know what other people think!! People don’t dive much into these two together :)

Just out of curiosity, do you know any alternative ways of showing types of relationships that could be used on ao3? I find the & and / method to be very constraining, especially with ambiguous or multi-dimensional relationships. & for platonic and / for romantic does not allow for a proper representation of nonstandard relationships, for example an enemy/loathing or polyamorous relationship. (Homestuck quadrants are their own thing and are not what I am asking for/about.)
answer that answers your question:
yes and no. if you just want another category of markers to exist, i know you said no homestuck quadrants, but those are probably most commonly used, although they're all synned to the / tag. i've seen some exchanges that want to differentiate use /& together, i've seen ? be used, and i've seen some invent their own tag (largely exchanges use these for matching purposes and it's rare but i HAVE seen it). however, there's no unifying convention, and ao3 will eventually syn all of these to either the / or & tag (usually the / unless the wranglers have a very good reason to think it's the & tbh). so know that even if you use your own symbol, it will show up in the relationship tag it ends up synned to.
one of the most common solutions to this is to use the symbol closest to what you want--personally i tend to just use the & unless there's fic content i think gen fans would really hate, since & is the tag that covers the much wider spectrum of relationships in my head, although some people will differ--and use freeform tags to disambiguate. for example, last days has the & tag for joe and cleo, along with a "queerplatonic relationships" tag! i believe "ambiguous relationships" is also a canonical tag, and you don't have to use canonicals if you can't find the one you like! the world is your oyster.
(here i'll also note: the & doesn't require them be like... friends. it just requires the fic be about their relationship in some way, and for this relationship to not be romantic or sexual. enemies is absolutely covered here, as is like, weird coworkers, or even tags like "hero & the public".)
(similarly, the / tag doesn't require they like each other, it just requires it to be a "ship"; enemies who have a ton of sexual tension goes under this, as do things like abusive romantic or sexual relationships; just make sure you're using your warnings and additional tags appropriately!)
the other most common solution is to tag both the / and & tag and use a tag like the "ambiguous relationships" or "this can be read as either" or "queerplatonic relationships" or whatever other disambiguating tag you think it needs. this is less common in the mcyt fandom because of the mcyt fandom's history of being SUPER WEIRD about shipping, but it's often the most common solution in fandoms that aren't this one.
"i want ao3 to have a ship tag that is neither & nor /, and is not considered synonymous with either" unfortunately this doesn't exist and isn't going to. like i'd love to say there's a way to make it exist but it Won't because of how ao3 was designed to work on a backend level and also ao3 does NOT change quickly, for better or for worse. you're going to have to pick between "make up a symbol and it will probably be synned to /", "use the tag you think you like best", or "use both". i wish there was another option too, if it helps, but the additional tags are really useful here!
"use no relationship tag" is also always an option; the relationship tag is not a required tag!
answer that answers your two examples, neither of which really fit the question as i understand it, hence me separating them out:
a fic about the relationship between two enemies is either the & tag if you just want the one that is actually meant to be used or the / tag if you mean for it to be like, the kind of enemies that have sexual tension. use additional tags to additionally disambiguate (example: just put in the tags the canonical tag "enemies" and you're good to go). the & tag is for ANY kind of platonic relationship, it does not require the two characters like each other, only that the fic is about their relationship! you can use the homestuck <3< if you REALLY wanna make it clear but that's synned to /, so like, up to you. if you're super worried someone will misunderstand the & tag you can also just not tag a relationship, relationships aren't mandatory tags.
i have no idea why you're asking about polyamory because that has a solution that's entirely unrelated to the problem you propose: you just tag the ship. ship tags with more than two names in them are legal tags, as long as it doesn't go over ao3's tag character limit you're good. if you do hit the limit, just use more than one tag! this is totally fine and follows ao3 conventions, don't worry. if it's the kind of polyamorous relationship with metamours, where not everyone is dating everyone, this is where more than one overlapping relationship tag REALLY helps. plus: you can mix / and & tags! not all of them will be canonical yet, but that's true of ANY ship tag you're originating! i have seen the form of "character/character & character" in many fandoms before, it's totally valid and will disambiguate! (also, the ensemble tags may help you here if you're doing like, a polyhermits thing; "hermitcraft ensemble/hermitcraft ensemble" is a legal tag and i think what polyhermits is probably synned to.)
so yeah, hopefully this helps some! good luck out there!

NaruFox AU And he left the Akatsuki... Prev / Next
Orochimaru Time!
After Minato became the fourth hokage, Orochimaru left the Leaf to create the Sound Village in an attempt to do a better job than Hiruzen did and to prove that he was the right choice for hokage.
By the time Minato died the anger he felt towards the village was basically all gone, but he still believed he could do something better than the system in the Leaf so he continued his researches on how to become immortal for some time more.
That was untill he realized he WAS going too far with the experiments. He had Juugo and Kimimaro with him already and he started to see the effects of those actions on them - mostly Kimimaro.
He then dismantled the Sound Village (which was still pretty small at the time, with not nearly as many of his hideouts spread over the lands) and joined the Akatsuki, another small group at the time with growing fame of helping people no matter the country or village. He took the time working with them to find and capture missing sound ninjas who still caused trouble, as well as help the ones who were abandoned with no other place to go and could not defend themselves - mostly kids apparently.
Years later he left the Akatsuki and continued with the same work, but on his own. He had been living in one of his old labs (trying to find a cure to Kimimaro’s condition as he also trained the other 3 kids) when he got a letter from his old teacher for the first time in (ever) asking for his help to protect the Leaf village from sound ninjas. He arrives with Tsunade and Jiraiya who also got letters, but they’re all too late...

hi, i have a pretty general Chinese name question. about how common are generation markers in names, and how common/rare is it for generation markers to be extended to girls? ive been pretty curious abt this for a while since my younger brother got a generation marker in his name but as a female i didn’t. i don’t think my mom’s side of the family has a generation marker poem/phrase, but i think they did name three boy cousins including my uncle as a set and left my mom out, so id like to ask about matching names between siblings or cousins too
Like a lot of traditional stuff, generational names aren't used as much after the cultural revolution because it is sort of an old tradition and also because it's something that was more for literary and/or wealthier families.
In my own family, my paternal grandfather was the last person on that side whose name included the generational name. My dad and his brother and sister all have revolutionary names (the trend around then), and while they share a character, it's not their pre-determined generational name. It can sound more cohesive to give siblings matching names, which I think might be the case with your mom's brothers, but it's by no means a rule, and it wouldn't extend to cousins. A generational name would be shared among paternal cousins and even distant paternal cousins from the same region, depending on how long ago the verse was set.
Me and my sister share a character in our names (天) but it's not our generational name, either. My cousins on my dad's side don't use our generational name (恩), either, but they also don't share a character in their names at all. My cousins on my mom's side don't have a generational name because my maternal grandfather's family were peasants/farmers; my maternal grandmother's side had generational names but didn't use them for my grandmother or her sister.
If there was a generational name, both girls and boys would have the same one, though. The point of generational names is the distinguish the generations. Anecdotally, all of the daughters listed on my dad's family tree from the last hundred or so years have the generational name.
You would have to ask your parents why they didn't give you yours. Maybe because generational names aren't followed as much anyway, they decided to just give you a different name that they liked more? Maybe they remembered about generational names after you were born and thus decided to use if for your younger brother?

I have an idea that involves Velvet and i wanted to ask you what you thought of it! :3
A few days after RWBY and Jaune return from the Ever After, Velvet notices that Jaune is keeping his distance from her, and she has no idea why. She asks all of Team RWBY and even Nora, Ren, and Oscar, but they don’t know why he’s doing it either.
She tells Coco about it and she immediately wants to figure it out and the two basically corner Jaune to get him to talk. He relents pretty quickly and says he’s doing it to make sure he doesn’t make Velvet uncomfortable.
Velvet has no idea why he’d make her feel that way, he’s her friend after all, so Jaune explains that soon after returning from Ever After he caught himself reaching to touch her ears out of Habit because he did it with Juniper whenever he was stressed or needed something to ground himself, but he knows that touching a Faunus Trait is a very serious and intimate thing and felt horrible for nearly intruding on her personal space.
Velvet is touched by his thoughtfulness and says she appreciates it immensely, but he doesn’t have to distance himself from his friends, all he had to do was explain from the start and she would understand, and now she does :3
Coco’s still hung up on the fact that Jaune was friends with an honest-to-gods Jackalope LANSKXSBJS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And after Coco and Vel confront him
Tumblr media
Sorry I just! I love this scene you’ve set up so much that I wanted to see come to life. Jaune’s always treated so strangely in this fandom. He’s really not that bad if you just focus for a sec.
————
I totally see this scenario being believable. All that trauma from his time in the Everafter. And Juniper was his only stability for so so so long…you don’t forget someone like that. See their ghost in familiar places, in familiar people.
I think it’ll do him good to start being made to process his issues. I haven’t made it to V9 yet but my take on Jaune is he’s just having a bad day constantly. Underdog healer. Being around new company will do him good. Help him process. I think when the trio are alone together they’ll make a lot of progress with that. Unload a lot of that baggage he’s been carrying.
Anyways, boy’s gonna be fine. He’s in good hands and even better company~
Thank you for sending the ask! Here have this for me taking so long.

Now. Time to play catch up with my inbox.

oh i have a brigha question! who is her bestie (besides karlach) and why?
ooh good one, I would have to say it’s Wyll!
Due to the dark urge and Not Remembering Much About Her Past, Brigha tends to gravitate towards people who are good hearted and kind in the hopes that it’ll rub off on her and Wyll was like, immediately the most comically perfect subject for her to Get Close To and Study.
The funny thing was that early in the game she kept making kinda gray area decision and for some reason Wyll was the first one to reach high approval with her (he loves a girlboss I guess #feminism #wyll4women) and it all reached its peak when Wyll told her she had a good heart at the party after the goblin camp.
She was like me??? You think I’m a good person?? Darkness and blood and suffering and death personified?? If anyone hurts you I will kill them dead where they stand
So far they have a very mom friend/guy who asked for no pickles friendship they’re everything to me <3

Thump. Thump. Vincent couldn't believe what he was hearing. He had a feeling there was something off about Isaac, with his constant questions about his personal life. If this was true, then all he intended was to get to know his brother better. He put a firm hand on his shoulder and looked at his face. Just like their Dad, they had similar facial features. Vincent wanted to clarify by asking him a question. The question was ridiculous, but it wasn't shared with the media during his disappearance. Only his family would know his habits, "What football club did he support?" Isaac turned the other way.
Tumblr media
"Arsenal. That bastard never missed a match!" an immediate response. He tried to hide his anger and gritted his teeth, "Look, Vincent. I lived as Isacco Romano in Italy. I worked my ass off there to become a lawyer" he paused, "Now that I've found you, let's uncover the truth and give our Dad the end he deserves." Vincent knew at that moment, that they shared the same goal. They were both certain that their Dad was still alive.

Can the same parallel of Thor and Jane be made for Loki and Sylvie the way you are making for Loki and Mobius? I'm genuinely curious. Do you think the show in its writing and direction makes that parallel?
Didn't Sylvie change Loki the way Jane changed Thor? In his own words, made them soft.
(Ask is referencing this post about the parallel between the relationship of Thor/Jane and Loki/Mobius)
I think the way Tom and Owen play Loki and Mobius makes it very clear that the parallel is between them and not Loki and Sylvie. From the very first episode, Mobius is the only one who sees Loki differently, who sees him for who he really is and believes in his capacity for good. Before Loki even meets Sylvie, he spends time with Mobius in episode 2 and learns what it means to have a genuine friend who trusts you and doesn’t expect you to be anything besides yourself. Because everyone in Loki’s life had always based his worth on a throne, on his ability to be a worthy prince and live up to the image of Thor and Odin and then here comes this soft analyst who has seen everything Loki has ever done and says ‘you’re not a villain’ and ‘you could be anything you want to be, even someone good.’
The impact of having that one person believe in him is enough to allow Loki to realize that his worth isn’t tied to a throne and that trusting other people doesn’t have to make him vulnerable. With Sylvie, I think Loki was starting to learn what it meant to love himself, in the sense that he started feeling protectiveness and affection toward her and had no context for that feeling as someone who has always felt only shame and hatred for himself. However, Sylvie never transformed him like Mobius did. Sylvie was so blinded by her trauma and her need for revenge that she was literally incapable of trusting anybody. Loki says this to her in 1x6 and then Sylvie uses his feelings to manipulate him so she can achieve her own goal. Sylvie never truly cared about anyone besides herself, which is shown in season 2 when Loki has to constantly ask her to return to the TVA and only gets her to help once her own timeline is destroyed. Loki never stops trying to save the TVA, and it’s all because he knows Mobius was happy there and he wants his friends to be happy again.
Tumblr media
Sylvie on the other hand is actively trying to stop him and they are constantly opposing each other the entire season. Note that after this line, when Loki says he wants his friends back, he is by definition referring to everyone besides Sylvie because they are the only two who know what really happened at this point and Sylvie made it clear she wants to be left in her timeline alone.
Tumblr media
Finally, Loki explicitly references Mobius’ impact on him later in the episode, just before Mobius asks if Loki is really his friend. Loki makes it clear here that Mobius’ belief in him was something he had never even considered before, that the power of that belief had changed his entire perspective.
Tumblr media
Loki and Sylvie never have anything close to this type of transformative relationship and the way that Mobius changed him directly inpsired his actions throughout the entirety of season 2. Through Mobius, Loki found people he could care about, he realized his self-worth, and he found the strength to sacrifice for others, all things that Sylvie never taught him. If you imagine taking either Mobius or Sylvie out of the equation, it’s clear that Loki’s growth and journey to his own glorious purpose was made possible by his relationship with Mobius and how he was changed by it.

"I don't want this" + Frat!Kyle 4 the prompts
warnings: dub-con, alcohol mention, angst.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kyle’s large hands swept up your hips and to your waist, where he held it softly. Your hands were tangled in his golden-retriever soft blonde curls, distractedly playing with the locks. He smelled so good; shower fresh and a hint of cologne that mixed with his own natural oils in an intoxicating blend. His mouth tasted warm and faintly of alcohol – you imagined all he tasted on your breath was alcohol. Somewhere, you must’ve felt ashamed for being so messy, but it wasn’t at the forefront.
You were happily positioned underneath his thick, strong body and the two of you exchanged kisses – yours were decidedly sloppier and wetter. At that point, you were so drunk that you could barely keep your eyes open, heavy lids drifting shut in between kisses. Your hands floated from his hair to his groin, where you began lazily massaging the soft bulge. In between strokes, you had unbuttoned and as you soon as you’d finished undoing his zipper, he said:
“I don’t want this.”
Kyle suddenly pushed himself off of you, using the mattress as leverage.
“Hm….whhaat….” you slurred, reaching for his bicep to stop him from getting away. He moved much quicker than you did, and instead, you only gripped the hem of his fraternity embroidered shirt.
He sat on the edge of his bed, pants undone. His head hung between his shoulders.
“This doesn’t feel right, okay? I don’t like it.”
“Kyle,” you moaned. “Kyyyyle…. We’ve been friends for so long, it’s fiiiiiine.”
That wasn’t what he was talking about, but you didn’t know it. You were too woozy, too tipsy to understand why Kyle didn’t like how this felt. It wasn’t that you two had been best friends for some time now, that you two could laugh about anything and everything until the early hours of the morning or that you two had some of the best chemistry he’d encountered in college. It was that he wasn’t sure you wanted what you two were doing – he had no way of knowing if it was you or the alcohol talking.
You’d done shots, and chased them with mixed drinks that were already too strong. He couldn’t know. You couldn’t consent to this, even though you were behind him, begging him to fuck you, promising it that it was okay.
“No,” He shook his head. “No, it isn’t. Stop.”
You sat up, pulling your knees to your chest. “Kyle, I don’t…” You sniffed, rubbing at your face. “...understand… I’m sorry.”

Wally and the Colour RED
Wally and the colour Red have an interesting relationship in Welcome Home. This is a rambling/analysis of different things I've found that makes me believe it's an important detail moving forwards with the Welcome Home Mystery!
First! Why do I think this matters?
There's a few reasons why I think this matters! First, while all the members of the cast seem to be tied to a colour, none is as focused or as consistent as Wally and the colour red! The two primary examples I'll use to cover this is one that we've had for a while, and two that we got in this update. Those being the signatures at the bottom of the guestbook, the interactable telephone, and the name graphics on the transcript page!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interestingly, all of the cast are directly tied to a specific colour! The signatures at the bottom of the Guestpage and the colours of the "calls" on the telephone are the same for each character. This being pink for Julie, orange for Sally, yellow for Frank, green for Poppy, turquoise for Howdy, blue for Barnaby, purple for Eddie, and red for Wally. This is consistent (and possibly something to pay attention for in the future?)
Notably however, Home is signed by Wally, while the audio file for Wally's "call" recording is also called "duet" when you open it in another tab. Audio files with "duet" is a sign that Home is present. This means that red is not strictly a Wally colour, but also the colour for Home!
(if you're curious, the other audio called "duet" is Wally's little song he sings)
This is interesting, because Wally and Home are often treated as a duo, moreso than any other characters of Welcome Home. I would also like to point out another detail, one that I think ties into this tie between Wally, Home and the colour red.
The Records
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All the records from Wally's hidden message ("I will help you understand neighbor, I will find a way soon.") are red! Sure, some are glitched, but they are all red. As is this record with the strange audio (has anyone decoded this yet?). This audio is directly tied to Wally, as it's called "(DRAWING?) WITH WALLY DARLING".
However the hidden one's may not just be Wally. Though they are all name the tab "answer" when opened, I'm tempted to say that "answer" is wally prompting us to answer (or, alternatively, Wally is trying to answer us, however he perceives us).
I believe that Home is there too in the audio. If you listen to all of them in a row, turning up the audio will reveal that there is a heart beat in the background. This, I want to say, is Home and not Wally, as Wally does not seem to register them. It peaks about halfway through with Neighbor, coincidentally the audio that is both glitching and is made of a series of clicks rather than voice lines.
I have seen people say that this is "Help Me" or "Hello" in morse code. I do not know which is the agreed translation is (to me it sounds like "…. . ..-.. .. -.. ---", which translates to "HEĘIDO", which is not a word. However it most resembles "…. . .-.. .-.. ---" which translates to "HELLO")
Regardless of what Home may be saying, it shows that the hidden recordings can be put together into a timeline that sounds like one recording, which means it's most likely all recorded at the same place. Ergo, Home is in the hidden recordings as well!
Other spots where red is brought up
There are other instances of red being tied to Wally. Some are obvious, like his love of apples (red ones specifically), the Wally prints/finger paint on the bottom of the guestbook, the background of the "i <3 Wally" gif/sticker in the sticker section of the site (also shared with Home. Wally's character description is also shared by home!), Wally himself in the "so-below" page, among other things. Such as the Wally themed telephone being red, despite his more iconic blue swirled hair (or blue and yellow-trimed sweater), his clothing in multiple official artworks, the Wally cereal box, and more.
(Like something I've noticed, which is that Home is the only house that's a solid colour (red!) without any pattern breaking it up, plus the most "standout" red that Wally typically wears being tied around his neck (symbolism?). Plus the "W" of Welcome Home is red! That's fun too!
Tumblr media
There's also some... stranger ones. Such as this hidden piece of morse code found by this person, which spells out ".. -- .-. . -..", or "IM RED" when translated to english.
Tumblr media
And more hidden ones too, that tie into the hidden staff page (I have a post breaking that down that you can find here!! I cover everything I could find plus went through the website code, if you want to know everything about the secret staff site check it out!)
There is the red safe, which has in WHRP universe lore!! I delve into this in my other post, just know that it is something that exists both in the secret website (it is what introduces you to the hidden website!) AND it exists in the WHRP world, both written about in printed emails and as a physical object seen within The Room:tm:. You may also notice everyone is represented by their original colours, except for home, who is now white (or blank?).
Tumblr media
There's also scrap pieces of red paper spilled on the ground in The Room:tm: (that have drawn spirals), a red clock in the style of Wally's red car, a red painting of some sort on the wall of The Room:tm: (that we never get a good look at, though it may have a drawn yellow eye in the upper center), a red apple, and most importantly of all, this:
Tumblr media
The Red Notebook
This is no ordinary notebook. This here is the notebook that the WHRP team have "loaned" the Question Answerer, also known as the Head Curator of Question Answer! according to the printed emails. This book is very important because there are multiple signs that it was written by Wally. Inside is a sketchpad attached to the lefthand interior bookcase with little paintings and a handprint suspiciously similar to that on the bottom of the GuestBook page and doodles in the styles Wally has used (spirals, finger paint smiley face, the drawn apple, etc).
Tumblr media
(by the way, if you're interested in what the note says the most accurate translation I've found is by Tumblr user truckfreaks
"Hello,
My name doesn't matter. I am here to catalogue something I'm not sure is fully real. But it must be. I'm holding all the evidence in my hands. Pictures. Characters. Text I can barely read. It's called "Welcome Home" and it looks like it might've been a children's book? Like I said, I can't tell.
It was sopping wet when I found it. When I first reached into one of the brightly colored envelopes, my hand was already covered in some gross, [unknown - possibly “oozing”] material. It feels like antiques are always covered in some kind of grime. I'm trying to clean up what I have and do a little more digging.
There's only one name I can make out right now... Wally. Probably important, but like I said, I'll keep looking.
XOXO"
The wrap up (don't want to make this too long!)
Regardless of what you make of this, it shows that there is even more proof of Wally, not just the character but the Wally ""haunting"" the website and the Wally within the WHRP universe, all being tied to the colour red. (Quick clarification: The Wally we see in branding, clips of the show, etc are all Wally, however he isn't current Wally. He is the Wally of the past, the original Wally, the base Wallly, whatever you want to call him. Therefore I separate him from the "now" Wally. It's unconfirmed whether the Wally that's seemingly trying to communicate with us through the website is the same as the Wally that seems to be related to all the objects being sent to Question Answerer, who is the same Wally that is constantly calling them. If so, then there is only one "now" Wally. If they are separate, then there are two, possibly one in the website itself and one focusing on Question Answerer. Please note, this is all speculation).
While it's true that red is Wally's favourite colour, I believe that it's far more than just that tying Wally and the color red together. Going forwards, anything red that isn't immediately branded as a Wally related object should be considered important, at least I think so.
As for the connection between Wally and Home, both sharing the colour Red? I think this primarily is a display of how the two characters either rely on each other or are, in the vaguest of ways, tied together by fate.
Good bye for now!
#welcome home#wally darling#welcome home analysis#wh home#i have... so many thoughts!! so much I wish to ramble on!! but I shall leave it with this#hopefully it makes sense! if not I will re-read it later and maybe make it more comprehensive#but summary: red and wally!! important!! this is important!!#also question answerer... you and me we're buds from another universe @:)#the reason why question answerer is mentioned is because their part of the story is VERY important when analyzing#the background WHRP-universe happenings. The objects are heavily implied to be coming straight from the Welcome Home world#(though covered in a black ooze. The same ooze mentioned in the letter BESIDE the notebook tied to Wally AND the same ooze growing on#growing on the walls of The Room:tm:)#Other objects appearing in The Room:tm: also have this black ooze. AND!!#this black ooze is known not just by Question Answerer (who seems to be the main restorer of the Welcome Home media)#but also by the WHRP team.. who directly tells Question Answerer that if they feel nauseous#dizzy sick or otherwise unwell around the stuff.. to just ignore it!#denial TRULY is the BEST medication folks /it is not please take care of yourselves!!#however the emails (printed? which is suspicious?) between the WHRP team and Question Answerer are... odd#very odd. An oddness that goes beyond a simple company acting in corporate interest over employee safety#maybe I should cover that?#hmmmm so many things!! so many thoughts!!#Alas my habit of writing much in the tags cannot be stopped. anyways thank you very much for reading!!#I encourage you to share thoughts (if you wish! One thing that irks me across most iterations is how much Usagi’s supposed stupidity is played up - she strikes me more as just being an immature, underachieving slacker than actually being dumb. What's your take?
I understand where you're coming from. A lot of the time, it's played out for comedy sake, but I've never been a fan of that type of humor too much.
I feel like the best type of humor when it comes to Usagi revolves more around Usagi's crazy and absurd reactions rather than just characters pointing at her cause she fell on her face. For example, compare any gag of her getting a terrible grade to that really good comedy bit in episode 8 where the monster is quizzing her about Newton and gravity. To the question, "Why do apples fall from trees?" instead of Usagi giving a 'stupid' answer and that being the only joke, she instead talks back at the monster and says the most Usagi thing possible "don't ask me, ask an apple".
Which is not stupid perse, the funny part doesn't come from the fact that it's a stupid thing to say, but it's cause it's an absurd and illogical thing to respond and I feel like that describes Usagi's supposed 'stupidity' pretty well.
I think Usagi isn't so much an idiot as she is oblivious, immature and lazy, like you said. I don't believe she's as stupid as people think. If anything, she's actually quite people smart.
Most likely a lot of the perception of Usagi's supposed stupidity comes from situations where Usagi is put outside of her element and she eventually makes a fool of herself and the other characters call her an idiot.
Tho, it isn't so much stupidity as it is Usagi not being apt to more formal settings, which I'd gathegorize more as her being inept and dorky, while not reacting like other characters would, but instead being way too open for her own good and most a lot of times at the surprise and even discomfort of others.
If Usagi puts her mind to it, she could get better at studying and various other subjects, but she just chooses not to cause she's lazy.

Since you’re one of the most prolific content creators for Lucemond, and you always answer your asks so eloquently, I was wondering if you could share some insight. When Aemond and Lucerys were first introduced and people latched onto them as a ship, it was easy to see why this pair seemed fated. Mirror images, Shakespearean tragedy vibes, second son syndrome, etc. it’s always been easy to see in both canon universe and the fandom why Aemond is so tied to Luke. He’s obsessed with him for obvious reasons (eye!) and jealous of Luke’s status so it’s easy for fans to make the jump from hatred to obsession to lust to love (be it toxic or wholesome in their headcanons). But the more I think on it, what do you think would draw Luke to feel the same in any regard to Aemond? Aemond is both pretty pathetic in the book and in the show. Authors and artists have their own takes on the two falling for each other mutually because the nature of fanfic and headcanons allow for it. But lowkey I can’t really see Lucerys actually becoming interested in Aemond while vice versa it’s SO easy to see Aemond falling for Luke. Could you give your own insight on why you think either show Luke or book Luke would become interested in Aemond in any sexual/romantic capacity? Asking as someone who is trying to find the logic in this pairing because they trying to take a stab at writing for them. It’s so easy for me to conceptualize reasons why Aemond is obsessed/in love with Luke, but I’m struggling with canon reasons why Luke would be interested in Aemond. Luke has everything Aemond does not making him a giant fixture in Aemond’s desire for glory—while on the other hand Aemond is just some dude who Luke stole as eye from and then never talked to for a decade (at best he’s a rival?). I know this is also difficult to answer because the characterization of book Luke and show luke are so different so seeing the necessary requirements of him falling for Aemond are vastly different too. Thoughts? Basically me asking you to explain to me how/why Lucemond works so well despite my own difficulty in seeing Luke’s interest in Aemond. Thank you!
hmmm i’m trying the best way to articulate this cuz you ask a good question and i wanna give an answer that isn’t just “targaryens horny for each other”
i don’t think luke would be attracted/want aemond for anything he could “give him”. like you said, aemond doesn’t have much to offer beyond his literal self. i think lucemond works specifically because of their unique dynamic which cannot be applied to their other ships. luke, as a person/character, is mostly characterized by his innocent bravery, vulnerability, and insecurity — which aemond is directly linked to a lot of those feelings in luke. personally, lucemond (in writings) only works when there is proper build up to it (so no real insta-love).
to me, luke’s attraction to aemond is an evolution of his fear and dislike of him. given luke’s upbringing and the relationships he’s had as an example, i envision him as being weirdly receptive to,,, non-traditional courtship and behavior. i don’t think he’d go out of his way to initially seek aemond out (i’m a proponent of aemond is down bad to an atrocious degree, as evidenced by his canon obsessive tendencies) but when it’s initiated, he kinda likes it. luke is much more emotionally driven. i don’t think his attraction to aemond would be for rational or even reasons that can be entirely understood and i think that’s the beauty of the ship.
but again it comes down to how you write to that point! this is just a bit of my own thought process when it comes to writing luke. my tldr is that i think luke’s interest in aemond would stem as a response to a mixture of familiarity, fear/caution, as well as thrill. (there’s also the fact that i think luke has “i can fix him” energy. not necessarily optimistic but something that stems from a feeling of never being good enough and needing to prove he can be)

The adhd/not adhd variables were proposed by my partner, likely because this is literally an adhd thought that came out of nowhere while i was thinking of pouring myself a glass of orange juice.
I did get my orange juice btw. Sipping it as i write this poll.
