Hi,
Stopping human trafficking requires:
Abolish the prison industry built on slavery
Providing food, water, healthcare, and shelter as basic human rights
Providing resources to minors who runaway
Abolishing the adoption industry that was built off the foundation of a human trafficker (Georgia Tann)
Supporting the Land Back movement so that traffickers can't exploit loopholes when abducting Indigenous people (also because Indigenous people deserve their land back)
Accepting and loving LGBTQ+ youth
Rebuilding the crumbling mental health system
Decriminalizing drugs so that traffickers can't force people to traffick drugs in an effort to make sure they aren't choosing between being an illegally enslaved person or a legally enslaved person.
Decriminalizing sex work so that children forced into sex work aren't going to prison for being a rape victim.
Recognizing that human trafficking is not just being kidnapped and sold but that family members, teachers, employers, friends, roommates, etc. can traffick people and that it's the most common form of trafficking
Recognizing that human trafficking isn't always just drug and sex trafficking but also labor
Human trafficking feeds off the flaws in our system and it is our job as a society to fix those flaws and starve the industry out.

Dear Abusers, We Are Not Punching Bags.
Tumblr media
Punching bags don't have feelings.
They can't say no. They can't complain. They don't flinch or run. They don't scream or cry. They take whatever you give them and wait for more. Hanging there, numb and still to await your rage, your lust, your loneliness, your sadism, your apathy, your excuses. With every hit, YOU grow stronger, more resolved, more convinced of your dominance. What more could an abuser want for themselves than something to strengthen their grip over the dignity of others?
You think punching bags are tough, don't you? Because the only thing under their skin is sand. This is what makes them so perfect to withstand your abuse: the endless capacity to absorb with no ability to feel...the closest thing to DEATH.
How many women have wasted away behind these lies of approval? That touch of comfort you so desperately think you need at the price of her sanity? The theft of her voice? Eroding her dignity as you hold her body ransom? THIS is what you buy.
Does it take any effort for you to reduce her?
Transforming her flesh and blood and bone to leather, sand, and metal? Is the word "WOMAN" simply the brand name of your favorite abuse tool: Always ready, never demanding, and forever silent? The only voice anyone can hear in this exchange is YOURS, filled with pleasure at the merciless infliction of your violence.

"Shining the Light on Human Trafficking; Your Role in Saving Lifes"
Tumblr media
If you suspect someone is a human trafficking victim, it is crucial to act promptly and responsibly to help them escape from this harrowing situation. First and foremost, ensure your own safety by avoiding any direct confrontation with the suspected trafficker. Instead, discreetly gather as much information as possible about the situation and the individuals involved. If you are in the United States, report your suspicions to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or text "HELP" to 233733 (BEFREE). For other countries, reach out to local law enforcement or a reputable anti-trafficking organization to provide them with the relevant details.
Tumblr media
It's important to approach the situation with sensitivity and empathy, as trafficking victims often face immense fear and distrust. Do not attempt to rescue the victim on your own, as this could endanger both you and them further. Instead, encourage them to seek help by providing information about available resources, such as shelters, counseling services, or legal assistance for victims of human trafficking. Assure them that they are not alone, and there are people who genuinely care about their well-being.
Tumblr media
Additionally, be prepared to offer ongoing support to the victim during their recovery process, as leaving a trafficking situation can be a complex and challenging journey. Cooperate with authorities and organizations that specialize in handling trafficking cases to ensure the victim's safety and access to appropriate care.
Tumblr media
Remember, reporting your suspicions promptly can make a significant difference in someone's life and potentially save them from a life of exploitation and abuse. By taking action, you contribute to the collective effort to combat human trafficking and provide hope and healing to those who need it most.

We need celebrities to traffic those Rigney daughters here in the states.
Give them a taste of their trash medicine. Nasty people. From a bad family.
Hayes, why weren’t you and yours keeping them in check?
Do we allow flip brown monkeys to traffic important people?
Those daughters know that money thinks they’re oily. Skanks
It’s slightly satisfying. Better when I slit their throats myself
I need a good team of murderers to take those fools out

Mormon Country
Today is my last day in Salt Lake City, Utah, and I don’t want to leave. The city is beautiful with its lovely mountain landscape and bright colored tulips springing from the ground. I came at a good time because the weather feels like Spring. In one direction, I see snow covering the mountain tops. In the other direction, I see hues of browns, tans, & greens in the distance. My view from my hotel room made my stay even more pleasant. This was my first time staying at a 4/5 star hotel. I’m glad to have this experience alone because I really got to enjoy the space. Sleeping in a different bed in a new place hits differently. I’m glad I took the opportunity to come out here.
The main reason I came to SLC is to attend my first Anti-Human Trafficking Conference. Since I registered for this conference I kept my mind open because I didn’t know what to expect. For a 2 day conference, the organizers (Freedom Network USA), packed in lots of workshops. When it came to selecting my workshops, I chose ones that the subject matters were little known to me and unfamiliar to the scope of work I do with Adelante. I spoke to a view people, but I mainly moved around on my own (not too much of a big deal). It seemed like the underlying theme was centered around or related to labor trafficking which was refreshing because I think the movement is hyper focused on sex trafficking and other forms of sexual exploitation. First, I regretted signing up for the Young Professionals workshop, but now, I’m glad I didn’t change my mind. I got some helpful information and good insight to how others in my field have encountered similar challenges in the work environment as me, and everyone in the room were in their 20s. However, I feel even more confused thinking about next steps related to my career. Adelante has become a job and not much as a career for me. I’m still passionate working in the anti-trafficking movement, though I wonder if I want to change landscape like doing the same work outside of the health/medical field.
Though the days were long, I was able to explore the city at the end of the day. I visited all things Mormon like the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints temple and tabernacle; LSD Conference Center, the Temple’s botanical garden, and the LSD museum (more like walked passed it). I received a few compliments on my prayer sweatshirt. SLC is seen as this overly conservative religious place. Yet, I ended up at a bar called WHY KIKI and attended my first (drag) burlesque show. I enjoyed myself! It was like a mash up between the movie Burlesque and RePaul’s Drag Show. A round of applause for the women & men who performed that night I know I couldn’t go on stage display my body like that. Like the hosts said, “Every body is a Beautiful body”. I walked around some more & walked through the City Creek mall, and spent the rest of my last day exploring Utah’s Hogel Zoo. I was considering visiting the Great Salt Lake, but honestly, I didn’t want to go by myself (maybe next time…).
I have to flight out in the morning. I’m treading it because I have nothing to come home to. I’m going back to a city I’m not too fond of. I’m going back to an apartment where my bedroom is the only piece of me. I’m going back to a job that I have a complicated relationship with. I guess the good news is that after two weeks of being back, I’ll be off again. This time heading South to South Carolina. I can cross off visiting the West Coast. Next time I’ll be on this side again is to visit Adelena and/or Miranda if they are still stationed in California.
Pictures & Videos soon to come…

Dear Survivors, Band-Aids Have Purpose.
Tumblr media
We've been told to stay away from band-aids, that they do no real good for healing but that isn't entirely true. Band-aids were never meant to be a cure, that's TRUE, but they ARE meant for protection.
These little strips, however disposable in the end, are what open the window between hurt and healing, take the breath between tears and smiles, create the space between pain and relief, and shelter the cuts from dangerous debris surrounding it. Airing out our pain is a MYTH.
Merciless exposure to the elements at our most vulnerable kills something in us, but covering our wounds maintains the natural defenses that keep our hope alive...and a wound that heals with hope is less likely to leave a scar. Band-Aids are meant to give our bodies the time and safety they need to reconnect the severed strands that bleed us, cleanse the poison that weakens us. Ripping off that protection will feel uncomfortable, but in the end, a band-aid didn't heal you...
YOU healed you.

I just watched The Sound of Freedom in theaters.
It. Was. Good.
I was switching between genuine joy and anger and sadness for the whole thing. It felt like reality slapped me in the face.
If you can, you should go see it too. I'm quite convinced you'll enjoy it.

"Invisible Chains: Unveiling the Hidden Forces Behind Human Trafficking"
Human trafficking, including the trafficking of children, is a complex and devastating crime that occurs worldwide. Several key factors contribute to its occurrence, and understanding these causes is crucial in combating this heinous practice.
Tumblr media
Economic Factors: Poverty and lack of economic opportunities are major drivers of human trafficking. People living in impoverished regions often become vulnerable to exploitation, as they may be lured by promises of better jobs or higher wages. Desperate circumstances can push individuals to accept risky opportunities without fully understanding the risks involved.
Tumblr media
Demand for Cheap Labor and Sexual Exploitation: The demand for cheap labor and commercial sexual services fuels human trafficking. Industries such as agriculture, construction, manufacturing, and hospitality often rely on low-cost labor, making them potential hotspots for trafficking. Similarly, the demand for prostitution and the sex industry creates a market for traffickers to exploit vulnerable individuals, including children.
Tumblr media
Social and Political Instability: Conflict zones, regions with weak governance, and areas affected by social unrest provide fertile ground for human trafficking. Displacement, breakdown of law and order, and the breakdown of social support systems create an environment where traffickers can operate with impunity. The chaos and desperation that follow such circumstances make individuals, particularly children, more susceptible to exploitation.
Tumblr media
Gender Inequality: Women and girls are disproportionately affected by human trafficking, primarily for sexual exploitation. Gender discrimination, lack of access to education, limited job opportunities, and societal norms that devalue women contribute to their vulnerability. Gender-based violence, including domestic abuse and sexual assault, can also make individuals more susceptible to trafficking.
Tumblr media
Lack of Awareness and Effective Law Enforcement: Inadequate awareness and weak law enforcement systems contribute to the persistence of human trafficking. Many victims remain hidden due to fear, stigma, and lack of knowledge about their rights. Insufficient resources, corruption, and inadequate coordination among different agencies hinder the effective identification, prosecution, and rehabilitation of traffickers and victims.
Tumblr media
Addressing the causes of human trafficking requires a comprehensive approach that involves improving economic conditions, addressing gender inequality, strengthening law enforcement efforts, promoting education and awareness, and providing support and rehabilitation services to survivors. Efforts must focus on collaboration between governments, NGOs, and international organizations to implement strategies that prevent trafficking, protect victims, and bring traffickers to justice.
