after seeing how stressed you’ve been and how it’s impacting your relationship with the princess, shuri holds herself to a promise she had made early on in your relationship.

it had been almost a whole year after attending the gala held in wakanda. in those many months so much of your life had changed. shuri and you had been essentially “courting” as her country would call it, considering she is royalty. the press found out shortly after, and then the whole world knew. you two quickly became perhaps an even bigger power couple than tony stark and pepper.

however, some people did not approve of the relationship you had with shuri. these people ranged from those in wakandan tribes to silly twitter stans that had a lot to say online. you had heard your fair share of remarks from both sides of the coin, however shuri was always there to comfort you about it.

“they are just jealous, my love.” she would whisper to you as she held you in her arms. she loves when you curl into her lap and just let her hold you. it is when she feels most at home no matter where she was. you had become her home and she had quickly become yours.

you worried so often about getting wakanda to fully approve of your relationship with her. mainly it was just trying to convince the council to love you, but the nation’s thoughts mattered as well. after all, you’d be considered a princess of the nation after marriage. it was far too soon to think of marriage, but due to you dating the princess of the richest place in the world it was a thought you often kept in mind.

if dealing with the worlds approval of your relationship wasn’t enough, you had also gotten booked for a major motion picture movie deal. it was centered around your character in a dystopian world she is aiming to destroy from the inside out. it was really just another action movie, which you didn’t enjoy because you had just started exploring other genres. however, what pushed you towards the deal was the talk of an oscar. they were just rumors, but apparently you could have a great shot at winning one with this movie. it’s an absolute dream of yours to win one. it’s better if it happens sooner than later. after all, if you did end up marrying shuri one day would you be forced to quit acting? you didn’t enjoy thinking about giving up your career, but you were sure that shuri is worth it. you wanted to discuss the topic with her sometimes, but something about it would make you too scared to bring it up. it was early into the relationship still and you didn’t want to overwhelm her or scare her away.

little did you know, she could tell you had done much overthinking over the last couple months. you two had been apart for a while due to your filming in another country. she drowned herself in lab work to distract from thinking about you. before you left she had given you your very own kimoyo beads so that calling could be better and faster no matter where you were. however, you barely used them. she would attempt to reach you through them but you were always too busy or tired. when you did answer she could hear how tired and stressed you sounded. she felt awful keeping you on the phone in that state, so the calls were never long. shuri, instead of becoming frustrated with the situation of the relationship, began working on a way to help you destress if your schedule allowed it. she had remembered mentioning this to you before, but surely you didn’t remember the sleazy comment.

your movie was being put on pause for a few weeks due to your costar spraining their ankle from a silly stunt. you had told them countless times to just have the stunt double do it, but they were too headstrong. despite feeling awful about the whole situation, you were glad to be spending some time recuperating and seeing shuri again. your girlfriend had been excited to know she was going to be able to see you within a few hours. you had been confused by this news, as you assumed you’d probably fly back to your apartment in nyc for a few days and then go see her. however, she had apparently heard of the accident on set and how it was delaying the progress for a few weeks. she gave very clear instructions over the phone:

wear the outfit that was coincidentally placed on your bed in the hotel you were staying in.

grab an overnight bag, that really needed to be made for many nights.

head to the limo that’s waiting downstairs for you.

you followed her instructions with no pushback despite wanting your beauty sleep before seeing her, you too had been excited to see her. you felt like you had been neglecting her lately which hurt your heart. she insisted she understood the situation and that she may have moments of her own like this someday in your relationship. it didn’t make you feel much better to hear those things though.

the box on the bed contained a sheer black lingerie dress made of only the finest materials. a matching black set of lace lingerie was underneath it which only made you snicker. of course she picked out something so scandalous as this. you hid the sexy attire underneath a large hoodie and shorts as you made your way to the limo.

the limo of course drove you to a location where a jet was waiting. a member of the dora milaje greeted you as you approached the jet by saying, “hello, princess.” a wink following after.

it caught you by surprise to hear yourself be called that. some of the people in wakanda would do it whenever they saw you due the fact you and shuri were dating. when you told shuri of this she only laughed and said, “they are only messing with you.” you would scrunch your nose in response to her teasing.

you made your way onto the jet and the woman warrior followed after you. it took off with ease and you allowed your eyes to shut for the remainder of the time. the distance would be traveled fast, but any bit of sleep you could gain was definitely worth it.

“y/n, we have arrived in wakanda.”

the voice of the woman makes you suddenly open your eyes as if you were on full alert. she gives you a soft smile before helping you stand from the comfy seat you were sitting on.

“thank you.” you say to her, in which she nods.

one nice thing about wakanda is that you never need to worry about taking your bag to your room. the people around you were always ready to take your bag for you and place it in shuri’s room or elsewhere so that you could easily go and see her right away. that's exactly what they had done with your overnight bag you brought. the only thing you had to do was find the princess, which you were informed was in her room waiting for your arrival.

two members of the dora milaje accompanied you through the beautiful halls towards shuris room. you never quite got over just how beautiful wakanda was despite your many visits. every time you came, shuri would show you something new about the nation or the palace. you loved the little moments when she would make fun of the architecture or say how she could make something better or more advanced with her tech. she never fully exited out of her mad scientist role, even while with you.

the dora milaje stopped in front of the ever so familiar door. you smiled at them before pressing the doors open. you didn’t bother knocking on your lover’s door considering you were told she had been expecting you.

when you entered the doors shut behind you. your eyes wandered around the room to see scattered flowers among white sheets and open windows displaying the beautiful stars and city of wakanda. you thought everything was so beautiful and well set up. it warmed your heart to see how much effort she had put into all of this for you. you felt like you should’ve been doing this for her though, seeing as though you feel as if you had neglected her. however, shuri had often liked spoiling you, so you let her.

you noticed that the only thing missing from the room was shuri. you wondered where she could’ve possibly been until a voice answered your thought for you.

“hello ms. y/n. shuri will be joining you shortly.”

it had been griot, an ai that took you months to stop being scared of it whenever he randomly spoke. you see, shuri liked taking you in very public spaces. you had a fear of being caught. and somehow every time you were allowing her to be handsy in those situations, griot would speak out of nowhere and scare you half to death.

“hello griot, i appreciate the heads up.”

“my pleasure.”

you took off the hoodie and shorts, leaving yourself only in the lingerie she had given to you. you assumed it would be a nice little present for her considering she had put all this together. when you sat yourself onto the bed wearing the exposing lace, your eyes landed on something.

it had looked like a camera in front of the bed, but not directly in front. it hadn’t looked like a normal camera either, more like a high tech one. you assumed shuri had designed it. it had her qualities written all over it.

“do you like? it’s my own personal design.”

her voice tears your eyes away from the device and onto her. she entered through her side bedroom door wearing just a tank top and sweats. her hair had been freshly faded, leaving her perfect pile of curls resting atop her head. you felt far more exposed than her, but the tank top made you throb the same way the lingerie made her throb. she found out from one of the first times you got intimate with her that tank tops were a thing you loved seeing her in.

“you look good.” you say to her after watching her move around to the device.

“and you look even better.”

“hmm…” you groan as you let yourself fall back completely onto the bed, “i don’t feel better.”

she chuckles, “don’t worry, i’ll make you feel better.”

you can’t help but blush at her words and the deep tone she uses. your body even tingles a little. you didn’t realize how badly you missed her kissing and touching you until she was standing right in front of you. you just wished she would stop messing around with that stupid piece of tech.

“won’t you just come here already? i’ve missed you.”

“be patient. i’m attempting to set up this camera.”

oh, so it is a camera.

“oh?” you couldn’t help but vocalize your thoughts.

“ah there we go.” she said as you hear a little beep coming from the device. her footsteps can be heard making their way towards you.

“come here.” she says before picking you up and setting you down in her lap. you wrap your legs around her torso and blush. it always made you flustered whenever she’d show off how strong she truly was.

her dark brown eyes stared into your own. the contact from her fingertips on your skin was driving you crazy, but you tried not to show it too much.

“you know how i said i wanted to make a movie with you?” she asked, causing your eyes to widen. of course you know how she said that. it was one of the very first things she said to you. you had assumed she was only joking though, as it never actually happened.

“you’re going to record us?” you asked so innocently that it made her chuckle.

“should i have made it more obvious? i want to keep a video of this for when i miss you. your filming makes it so hard for me to fuck you. so now when you go back, i can just watch this and feel content for the time being.”

those words flowed so easily off of her tongue that it had caught you by surprise. she was incredibly nonchalant about this whole thing which made you think she had been planning this for a while. you were not camera shy in the slightest, but you had never exactly recorded yourself in any position like this before. not that you were opposed, just a little timid.

“just say action then.” you say to her, a smile spreading across your face.

“action.” she replies in a challenging tone.

soon your lips were colliding into hers. her fingers dug into your brown skin and you couldn’t help but exhale due to how good it felt. she had never handled you like this before. shuri was being gentle yet also harsh at the same time. you could tell how much she missed you by how hard she held onto you and how gentle she kissed you. you only hoped that your kisses and hands reaching out for her face relayed the same message.

kissing was enough for shuri until it wasn’t. she eagerly began tugging at the straps on the sheer cloth you wore on top of your lingerie. her mouth went to her favorite spot, your neck. after that first night she craved sucking on your soft spots and kissing in other spots until they were purple. she enjoyed the sounds you were making as her lips touched your skin.

your fingers gripped her hair as she sucked so eagerly on your neck. the vanilla and coconut smell radiating off of her was so pleasant and mouthwatering. she smelled so perfect even with smells as simple as those.

your hips had begun grinding into her, searching for some sort of release. you hadn’t even noticed you were doing the action until she stopped kissing on your neck. the thing about shuri is that she never full stops unless she intends on torturing you. she always eases out of things. she swears its because she never wants the moment to end. you swear it's because she just loves to leave you wanting more by easing off little by little. sometimes it’s more torture than fully stopping it. so before stopping her kisses, she eased off by peppering them.

“you are so eager tonight. i did not know you missed me this much.” she said while slowly taking you out of the lingerie you had taken so long to put on. you didn’t have it in you to detest her taking it all off of you. not that you would’ve detested anyway, but maybe been a tease just a little while longer.

“i missed you more than words can describe, shuri.” you breathe out as she begins palming your now exposed breasts. this pleasure usually wasn’t enough to overwhelm you but you felt so sensitive. had you two not been in the early stages of sex then you probably would’ve just asked to cuddle as you perhaps wept. although both things have you being vulnerable, the sex just seemed so much better. this was because she wouldn’t know exactly what you had been so stressed over.

“i’m sure i missed you even more, my love. i day dreamt of touching you like this again.” she begins to kiss your chest, “i grew so bored and lonely without you here. we haven’t been together for very long in the grand scheme of things but i am sure i love you.” her kisses begin traveling lower. “i am sure i love you more than anything and it makes me sad to see you so stressed and tired.”

you loved when shuri talked to you like this. she made you feel like the only person in the world, and she has been since you first met. this was not the first time she told you she loved you. in fact she had told you many times before this. the first time being out of nowhere in her lab. she had said it so casually.

“i think i love you.”

“you think?” you had asked.

“hm... no, i definitely know i love you.”

you couldn’t stop smiling for a week straight after that interaction. it was so simple but it was the perfect way for her to say she loves you. you didn’t want all that extravagant stuff, after all she was most extravagant for you on dates and intimate nights already. it felt so much more genuine that it came out of nowhere.

“shuri please…” you moaned out after she had been kissing on your now erect nipple. her lips plopped off of it and she looked back up to you with puppy dog eyes. you could feel yourself melting.

“please what?”

“please… please just make love to me. i want you so bad.”

you didn’t have to tell her twice. this was all about making you feel better and more relaxed. she was willing to do anything for you under any circumstance. while you were worrying about what would happen if you two were to get married, she worried that you wouldn’t want to marry her at all. shuri didn’t know how she would bear it if she lost you. it would be especially worse considering she would be forced to see your face everywhere on social media and posters for your movies.

“of course my darling.”

she flipped you over onto your back with ease. it wasn’t too harsh though, as she was scared she may hurt you. you laid there on the bed feeling yourself up to release some tension as she walked to the side of the bed.

“come here.” she commanded, causing you to turn your body to be positioned in front of her. you’re assuming this was the position she wanted you in as she climbed onto the bed. it would look the best on video. her getting a clear shot of how she stroked you so elegantly with the strap on she had been hiding underneath her sweatpants. it didn’t hit you until now why it was so nice to grind against her.

she lifted your legs up and got the perfect view of just how perfect and vulnerable you truly were. your entrance was begging for her to make her way in but she couldn't grant it that pleasure yet. shuri wanted to look at you a little while longer. she wanted to take in how beautiful you looked in your purest form. she admired your stretch marks and the way your stomach formed a crease or two while having your legs bent back. if she had the chance to, she would keep you constantly by her side forever, just so she could look at you for hours. she admired your birthmark and your little moles that adorned the most private places on your skin. she loved how your skin sparkled in the night stars due to the cocoa butter lotion you religiously lathered yourself in.

you were like a forbidden fruit that she craved more of with each passing day. she was sure you were created by bast herself despite you not being of wakandan origin. that didn’t matter to shuri though. she was sure bast put you here just so that she could know what true love and adoration felt like. even while you were going through a little rocky situation with your relationship, her feelings never faltered. you were both sure you could get through anything and that moments like these were to help with that.

she slowly pushed herself into you which caused you to moan. they were slow and steady strokes. shuri did not want to overload you with anything too fast. she wanted to show you with every movement how lucky she was to have you and love on you.

“faster... just a little bit faster, please.” you managed to get out between your soft moaning. of course shuri obliged and began thrusting faster while digging her fingernails deep into your thighs.

the extra pinch from her fingernails was beginning to push you over the edge. she cooed to you calling you her beautiful angel or sweet girl as you whimpered and cried out for her to go faster or slower. at one point you had switched positions into one where you were in her lap being pushed up and down her strap. you didn’t need to be guided for long though as you began making your own movements as she continued grabbing onto your hips. your head was nestled deep within her neck as you struggled to keep your breathing evened.

then finally her stroked began getting deeper and deeper. this was what really sent you over the edge. she was hitting every thrust like she was following the beat of a song. you could feel yourself be lifted up from her lap a little every time she did it. something about this intimate act could not compared to the others you two have shared. you asked her to make love to you and thats exactly what she was doing. before you two had just been fucking, simply having sex. this was so much more emotional and powerful and truly you felt like it couldn’t get any better than this.

“i’m c-coming!” you managed to get out of your lips as shuri thrusted faster and faster. your moaning and breathing became utterly uncontrollable as you let yourself melt in her touch. she could feel herself coming up on her release too from the strap’s material rubbing against her and your beautiful moans. at some point you forgot the camera was even rolling, too in tune with every thrust and grunt shuri had been making as she did it.

you soon came undone beneath her with a final moan and gasp for air. you kept your head nestled in her neck as your back arched and she continued to thrust, although slowing down. she had finished shortly after you with her slower strokes. those had always finished her off like clockwork which you found amusing. however, you much too tired to even giggle at the action. you could still feel the strap inside of you as you remained in her lap.

“my love, i have to get this out of you.” she whispered to you.

“must you? It feels so nice. i could fall asleep just like this.” you whispered back, your voice laced with exhaustion.

she laughed, “i’m sure you could, considering you already are. however, i can not have the ladies come in and see us like this. it would be improper of me.”

you sighed, “i suppose so.”

she helped you get off by slowly taking it out of you and setting you on the side of the bed that you always slept on. you could hear her shuffling around in the background as your eyes refused to stay open. her bed had been so soft and was covered in only the finest sheets made of satin and most likely vibranium.

“here.” she whispered out to you. suddenly you felt a warm towel wiping the inside of your legs and flower. you always loved that she took care of you after. shuri placed a kiss on your forehead before saying, “i love you y/n. rest well for me.”

she didn’t have to tell you twice. as soon as the covers were pulled over you the warmth flowed through your body and put you right to sleep. shuri climbed into bed shortly after you going to sleep, placing another kiss on your forehead before falling into a slumber of her own.

i dont rly want people to think im running away from my past though. i feel like people would take it the wrong way, i dont want to seem like im hiding from anything bc what i took responsibility for in the past is still important to me. and i mean.. i still go by 'marshiecritter' so it'd be a bit silly

i dunno, i just wish ppl would not assume the worst i guess? i really just wanna go back so i can interact with my friends again and post art, thats rly all i want lol. none of my friends really use tumblr, despite how lovely it is here compared to twitter. i dont gaf about having a platform, but people ended up pinning me as a 'popular osc artist' and then when that crashed down it was a lot to take in. it sounds stupid but theres some lame twitter callout trauma i have from it that im still dealing with, having hundreds of people suddenly turn on you and say you're disgusting is a lot and it's very difficult to process

i just really wanna talk to more people that like the things i do! its been really lonely being confined to my priv, and even though im super extremely grateful to have mutuals and friends that understand me and support me, the outer osc is really scary. i dont want people to believe im some horrible gross nasty guy, because ive genuinely reflected on everything and learned. i've put a huge amount of work in emailing people, splitting off from problematic people, and making amends with others trying to mend my mistakes. why else would i make a whole video using my real voice addressing everything as much as i could?

some day i'll return, but for now i'm just scared of what people will think. because there are definitely still people out there that despise me, and all i want is to heal from that

when everyone arrives at the Grim, just before the ep ends, Nine starts breathing heavily and it. instantly reminded me of Movie!Tails when the bar was calling them freaks. fuck. its a nice reminder of where Nine's coming from

speaking of Nine his poses getting more unhinged over time!! hell yeah

i love that the final fight(s) felt like a kid smashing 3 different Lego sets together, real Robot Pirate Island shit

So... Twitter, huh? My spoiler filters there had some leaks, and I saw some discussion out of context that... actually made me kinda scared to finish the show. But then I did, and had fun with it just like the other two seasons, and I remembered that Twitter gets high-strung about things that don't matter so much, and that giving it sway over how much I enjoy things is silly lol.

Yes, I think the last season could've been paced differently so it wasn't 5 episodes of the same Final Boss Fight. Yes, I think the writing switches jarringly between gearing for a young new audience and for a seasoned old one. Yes, I think the 2D flashbacks look and move worse than what fans constantly make for free. Yes, I think the final episode doesn't do nearly as much housekeeping as it should (does the Shatterverse still exist or not??). Yes, I think declaring the show is canon to the games or whatever they said probably wasn't the best idea. And yes, I think Black Rose should've had a shoulder-parrot!Birdie to match the other Amys. All valid critiques! All sensible things to think when you've been around the Sonic bush!

But I swear to god, people on Twitter act like these things spoil the whole package. Where's the nuance? Why does every opinion there become an absolute worth tearing others down for? Is it the character limit? I bet it's the character limit.

There's so much I love about this show that were infeasible for the Sonic brand just 3-4 years ago. Externalizing the characters' facets to explore them in-depth. Said exploration spanning multiple episodes instead of being one-and-done. The sheer amount of genuine Sonadow food (and I don't actively do shipping, so me adding it here should hold a lot of weight). The snappy, playful, yet blistering fight scenes that, dare I say, feel like a successful TV-budget Spider-Verse. It was all so much fun!

But I guess stuff like Green Hill being the gang's "home" is a big deal-breaker?? Like?? I thought that was silly too, but not worth ratio'ing people with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse over? Get well soon, I guess??

Rambling over, shout-out to the entire country of Canada for giving me the most fun I've had with a Sonic show since X! I'm gonna go figure out how to address all this as The End lol

If you don’t mind I’m just gonna spill my guts about Fionna and Cake and how much it means to me, you’ve been warned lol.

To say I’ve been wanting this show for years would be an understatement. I remember watching adventure time as a kid and seeing these guys on trailers for the brand new episode. I remember watching it when it aired on tv. I remember so desperately wanting to see more.

And then the episode with marshal came out. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and loved these interpretations of the characters. Also in general adventure time has inspired me creatively, and I know many artists share the same sentiment. I remember going to a book fair in middle school and immediately begging my mom for a comic with them. (I still have that comic and read it from time to time.) A couple years go by and it’s still my favorite part of adventure time, every time I rewatched a few episodes I found myself going back to these episodes specifically.

I thought it would always just be a wish I would never see get fulfilled. They were just gender-bends of the original characters, they already made adventure time what would be the point of just slapping a new coat of paint on it? Despite accepting my reality it is always something I hope for.

You could not imagine my excitement when I saw the promo for it on Twitter. A series of Fionna and Cake. A series of them. Characters I had loved since I was a kid.

The series had been out for at least a week before me and my partner had time to watch it, and it was as if all the problems I had been dealing with as a young adult were being displayed on screen. I knew I was already attached to these characters, but the beautiful story they had made out of everything got me even more attached. I cried so much, it was like seeing old childhood friends all grown up. It was an answer to problems I thought were hopeless. Without getting too personal my life would have been a whole lot worse if it wasn’t for this series.

I know it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and with media nobody truly gets the same message or idea. But if I could cram together all the beautiful answers and lessons this show gave me in, it’s that life isn’t perfect and it’s what you make of it. And I know that seems simply or corny, but many people seem to forget that life is not just about your successes or good moments, and if you constantly try to think otherwise you will just be more miserable.

You have every right to be miserable…but you also have every right to get better and try your best at a good life. It’s going to take work, but you will find people there for you, you just have to put your trust into it too. We are all in this together and we are constantly fighting, so why not make this battle a bit easier?

You’re doing great, whoever and where ever you are, just please…don’t give up, there’s a whole life you deserve to live.

But Tonight Is Just Like Any Other Night

Authors Note: I wrote this when I woke up at  5AM and was feeling not good. I did some light editing, but overall I just needed to express some emotions I’ve been dealing with recently. Also, this scenario would def not work in the real world lol I am aware. I just wanted to write some comfort about one of the Moon Knight boys.

ALSO: I forgot to mention, I got the idea for Jake's eyes from @/glitchedknight on Twitter bc I am not a fan of giving Jake a red eye.

Summary: You leave a party feeling alone and hopeless. Needing to get back home, you decided to hail a taxi.

Warnings: Besides discussions of being very sad and alone, there aren’t really any.

It  was abnormally humid and hot in Chicago. Your sweater stuck to your body, making it more uncomfortable. All you wanted to do was go home and cry in your bed. Not standing on the road, trying to hail a taxi. 

    It was way too late to take the cta. The buses also have ceased their routes. At this point, you’d pay $40 for a 15 minute taxi ride back to your apartment. 

    In the distance, you saw the bright headlights of a car that started to drive closer to the curb. You raised your hand when the yellow cab with black checkerboard came into view. The taxi stopped next to you and you didn’t hesitate on opening the back seat to slip inside. You kept your gaze low, so the driver wouldn’t see how red and wet your eyes were.

    “Where you heading to?” He spoke with a deep voice, traces of a spanish accent dancing through it. 

    You told him your address. He only nodded before putting the car back in drive. 

    You looked out the window, seeing the skyline of the city you grew up in. It dug a hole in your heart knowing something that you held so close was also the thing that harbored the bulk of your pain. Tonight was no expectation, but the more you thought about it, the more the tears welled up in your eyes. You didn’t want to start crying in this man’s taxi. God, it would be so embarrassing. You wiped your tears away with your sleeve, hoping that he wouldn’t notice. 

    This feeling was overwhelming, all embracing. It swallowed you whole when given the chance. It made you feel like a prisoner in your body, like you didn’t belong. It was dark and rough. It made your days harder and your nights restless. You always tried to fight it, but there were days where you couldn’t fight. You couldn’t cope. Like today. 

    The tears kept pouring from your face, onto your lap. You tried not to make noise but soon you were taking short, small breaths to try to relax. In reality, this never worked, but you could never stop it from happening. 

    “Senorita?” The driver spoke up. You felt his gaze from the rearview mirror, “Are you okay?” 

    You managed to nod, but you needed to verbally answer to make it believable. You quickly collected yourself. 

    “Yes..” You cleared your throat, wiping your tears that were quickly being replenished by fresh one, “Yes, I’m fine.” 

    There was silence and you hoped that was the end of it. 

    “Lo siento, but if you were fine, why would you be crying?” The driver spoke softly. 

    You finally mustered up the courage to meet his gaze in the rearview mirror. A sweet pair of downturned eyes met yours. He had heterochromia; one eye was a deep brown, while the other one had a lighter, almost golden half to it, resembling a crescent moon.  

    ‘’Lo siento tambien,” You responded, your throat wet with how much you had been crying, “I don’t mean to bring my problems into your cab.” 

    The driver's eyes looked away for a second, “You’re not bringing anything bad into my cab,” he assured, “I just hate to see someone crying in my backseat.” 

    You wiped your tears again, resting your hands in your lap. 

    “You don’t have to tell me nothing, but I hope your night gets better.” 

    The ugly feeling in your chest grew agitated at hearing such kind words. It was like a ball, painfully rolling up your throat, making your eyes well with tears again. You tried to hold it back, because you did not want to ugly cry in front of a stranger. 

    The car stopped suddenly, making you jolt. You heard the key come out of the ignition, and the car grew silent. That golden crescent glimmered in the rearview mirror. 

    “Take your time, cariño. Let it out.” He spoke softer this time, his gaze breaking yours. 

    Your chest started heaving before you could even think about his words and another waterfall of tears escaped you, pouring down your face. You tried to cry into your hands, but it didn’t matter. Nothing felt suitable to contain your sadness. It felt so bottomless.

    “Cariño, I know I’m only your driver but if you need anything, please let me know. I can -” 

“I want a hug,” You blurted without thinking, “Please.” 

There was a small pause before you heard the driver's door open, close, then the backseat door open. 

The driver slipped inside, keeping his distance. He eyed you almost hesitantly. 

    You looked at him, tears still welling up in your eyes, and his expression softened. 

He looked so kind. His eyes were soft and endearing towards you, making your heart pound in your chest. He wore a newsboy cap that had a few stray curls poking out of it, and wore a white button up with a black tie. If this was any other night, you would already be running out of the taxi, but something was different. Something about him felt safe. 

You closed the space between you two, catching him off guard. Your arms wrapped around his neck. His arms weren’t around you at first, but when your hold tightened, he wrapped his arms around you, bringing you in just as tight. 

He smelled like tobacco and aftershave. You cried embarrassingly hard into his shirt collar. 

He rubbed small circles into your back, speaking softly, “Si, Si. Let it out cariño,” 

“I feel so stupid.” You admitted through sobs, “I always feel so stupid and alone. I have nothing.” 

The driver held you tighter as you spoke through a heaving breath, “I need you to control your breathing. You’re going to get light headed.” You didn’t listen. 

You heard him let out a small breath, “Breathe with me, preciosa. Come on.” He urged with a light tap onto your ribs. 

You forced yourself to take more consistent breaths. 

“On the count of three, you’re going to take a deep breath with me, then hold it, and then let it out for 3. Got it?” 

You nodded. 

“Smart girl. Okay, follow me.” His chest expanded against yours and you followed suit, counting in your head. You held it, then released it as he counted to 3 again. 

You did this 3 times until your breath was coming more consistent. 

“Now tell me what is making such a pretty lady cry.” 

You took another deep breath before starting again. 

“I feel so alone. I can be in a room of 100 people and still feel all alone.” You explained, “I feel so stupud being in groups of people who are already friends. I feel so unnecessary and useless.” Your voice wavered as the feelings started to feel raw again, “I-I can’t s-shake it. I am so miserable.” 

There was a long moment of silence as you kept crying, thinking about how everyone at the party had just tolerated you there. How you had small talk all night that fizzled out into uncomfortable silence. You watched everyone look away from you, sipping their drinks and changing the conversation immediately. 

“Why do you want to be friends with people who make you feel like that?” He asked simply, 

You took a few more deep breaths to calm yourself, considering your words. 

‘“I just want to feel included. I want to have friends.” It made you feel pathetic, but it was true. You were tired of feeling so alone. 

“Lo entiendo, pero ¿por qué quieres estar cerca de personas que te hacen sentir así?” 

You sniffled, “I like the way they’re friends with each other. They’re always laughing and smiling. They look like they have f-fun together.” 

“You need to find people who want to act that way towards you. Not these pendejos who make you cry like this.” 

 You sniffled. Deep in your heart you knew he was right. 

“I feel so stupid reacting like this for people who don’t care about me.” 

“You don’t need to feel stupid. You want to feel what everyone else wants to feel- belonging.” The driver assured you, “don’t go where they don’t want you, cariño. You deserve better than that.” 

You let out another big breath, relaxing into him. There was another moment of silence where his words were finally cementing themselves in you. You had gone through all this trouble to impress people who clearly didn’t want anything to do with you. And for what? Those people were out partying still, having a great time, and you were here having a breakdown. They were out being ignorant of how miserable they made you, and you didn’t want people who didn’t care about your wellbeing as much as you did theirs. This stranger had shown you more kindness now than anyone at that party had. 

Slowly, you pulled away from the hug, wiping your excess tears on the back of your hand. You smiled at the man, embarrassed at your behavior. 

“You are getting tipped well today.” You joked. 

He smiled sweetly, tilting his head to the right slightly making the golden crescent in his eyes glimmer, “don’t worry about it.” He assured you. 

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t get your name.” 

“Jake. Jake Lockley.” 

You sat in the passenger seat as Jake drove you home. He played some music and told you stories that brightened up your mood. When he stopped outside your apartment, you felt sad about leaving. 

“Ya llegamos,” Jake announced, looking at the small building you called home. 

You smiled sadly, “gracias por todo,” you couldn’t find the words to express your gratitude, “I don’t know what I’d do if you didn’t pick me up.” 

Jake returned the smile, and then ripped off a piece of paper from a form that was tucked underneath the sunvisor. He rummaged in his pockets, producing a pen, and scribbled something down. 

“If you ever need a ride again, you let me know.” Jake handed you the paper with a phone number scribbled on it, “I don’t care where you are. I’ll drive anywhere in the city for you.” 

You almost wanted to cry again but you held it back to take the paper from his hands. 

“Thank you, I really appreciate it.” 

You exchanged smiles, “how much do I owe you?” 

Jake brushed you off with a small wave of his hand, “Por favor, cariño, do not worry about it.” 

“I caused you way more trouble than I am worth. You have to let me pay you.” 

Jake shook his head, not entertaining it. 

“Let me buy you lunch the next time you pick me up, then.” 

“Over my dead body are you paying for our meal.” You both laughed until it faded into silence. 

“Thank you, again.” 

“Cualquier cosa por ti, cariño.”

I can't stand the fandom perpetuating the show's need to make Steve as pathetic as possible.

I hate how in s4 they made a joke on Steve's behalf that the basketball team hadn't won a championship since 20 years or so when in s2 Steve wrote an essay how he threw the winning shot and correlated it to his grandpa's time in the war. That's bad enough, and now, on Twitter, people make jokes that Steve just sucks at basketball. He is so pathetic for lying in his essay, and I have enough of it. They can't have him let one thing he is good at, no the show and fandom just makes him useless at everything he does. Is it a big deal? No, do I overreact? Yes, probably. But omg, I just can't stand the route the show takes for his character post s2, and the fandom makes it worse by just adding on it instead of actually fixing stuff. (Sorry for this rant, but I'm sooo sick how they treat my fave time and time again)

yeah, the basketball thing pisses me off too lol. like it proves that the duffers have no consistency, and don’t actually think that much when writing the seasons, and that they don’t care about the characters!! changes i liked and disliked in the rwrb movie 📨

ohmygod. i'm finally gonna talk about this movie, aren't i? i've held myself off from making original creations like video or photo edits for this piece of media, and i still am, because i feel like if i start making one i won't stop, but i think a textpost can be an exception because i've made tweets and threads about it on twitter already.

anyway, i just wanted to rattle off on these since these opinions have been simmering up on me since the movie first came out. lol i watched it 15 hours later on a whim with bar-in-hell expectations. karma got to me, because i ended up getting brainrot over it.

this is a long overdue post.

the aging up is both a yes and a no for me. a yes because i have previously never been opposed to aging up YA characters (technicaly rwrb is more new adult that young adult but whatever, it's teetering) like shadowhunters, and matthew does a great job of justifying this choice: grounding their romance into a more mature and real love. it's not to say that young love isn't valid or real enough, but the decision to make firstprince in their late 20s makes the discussion of forever and their adamant to fight for their love is more realistic and believable. with that said, it's also a no for me because their ages are also detrimental to the timeline and character arcs. for instance, henry's grief hits him like a ten wheeler as a teenager, and the whole explanation that casey writes for his grief is that he expected to deal with something as magnanimous as that kind of loss when he's older and not when his brain hasn't even fully developed. another instance is alex's having to grapple with his career choices after college!

matthew's best change is quite possibly firstprince exchanging the key and the ring. hands down, much better. i do understand that since the novel is in third person limited (alex's pov), it makes sense at a literary level (lol) for alex to own both the key and the necklace ("two homes side by side" is a BANGER line), but the equal complete devotion that the two have for each other at that point is excellent through that showcase of exchange. i own part of you, you own part of me. it's such a great display for the trope of "token of love." romcoms are back, baby! cinema is back!

worst change, then, is probably alex's parents being still happily married and in love. my hot take is that i understand why june was cut out and she's not a huge loss, compared to alex growing up as a child of divorce. making that change to alex having parents who are still together removes a huge dimension to alex's characterization because a lot of his issues stem from that, mainly his abandonment issues. you can see the full effect in the scene where he storms the kensington palace. i understand and respect it, matthew essentially explaining that because this was a different henry, then this was a different alex to — that he needed to be softer. he was more pleasing, desperate, confused with "can we please talk?" instead of the brash "your royal fucking highness!" because that's what it is: confusion. movie!alex couldn't fully understand why someone would just up and leave like that, whereas book!alex was immediately angry because he knows full well when someone leaves him. (*ahem* his dad) but anyway someone discusses it here in such great detail and i very much agree!

oh another good change is showing henry's pov during the email leak. nicholas... sir... ugh. fine, we're getting you that damn oscar. but seriously, he did great. t'was devastating seeing his face crumble, and the one show/display of roual authority, of hot flash of anger, of power, just to talk to alex was even sadder because that was the only time he uses it.

another yes and no change for me is "history huh." the placement of the most popular line from being im the email to being said out loud privately for the two of them is something i'm divided about. yes: there is a great deal of comfort that comes with henry getting to hear that from alex's own lips. it's very sweet and romantic and yeah tbh tbh i would've melted into a puddle right then and there. that there is a comfort that comes with at least that wasn't taken away from them. but no: the whole point of that being in the email (along with bad metaphors, an incomplete list, the story of the prince born with his heart on the outside of his body, etc.) is that these two's privacy was violated. the whole world read those words that were just meant for the two of them, but the public ended up using that line for their banners and flags and signs. and it's important why? it was then made into a form of reclamation. that even if they went through shit and worried about the consequences of being public figures, that there was hope that at least a surprisingly large number of the general public voiced their support, that they were backed by the people they were serving. removing that from the email in the movie... well, you get the rest.

should the height difference even be talked about? that's a factor that is 80% outside of anyone's control lmao??? but i do think it's worth noting that i've grown kinda fond with it that now i imagine taylor & nick's physical builds when reading firstprince fanfics plus having a taller alex who has a height complex instead of a shorter alex who has a height insecurity is so fucking funny. what a great running gag. the gaslighting of the audience into thinking henry is taller is 10/10. best lampshading ever, actually.

henry standing up for himself to the king is both a yes and no too. yes: matthew's justification is pretty nice. not only does it save them production costs to hire a princess catherine actress and pacing issues, it also makes sense narratively. the movie has written henry as voiceless throughout it really well, so for him to save himself is a great reason for why. but also it's a no for me because it's equally important that catherine the negligent mother starts compensating for her absences by battling generational conflict lmao. there's also the factor of a woman saving a man too! the rwrb universe emphasizes quite well about how henry and alex are surrounded by these powerful female figures who are near and dear to them in their lives. to grow up learning from them. point is, movie!henry standing up for himself is a nice choice because he's older. and at the same time, book!henry being supported by her mother is a great choice because he needed to be affirmed with a larger support system in his younger age.

making henry the one to clarify at first that their relationship should be casual instead of alex is a big yes for me. the mixed signals henry does in the book makes for borderline inconsistent characterization, but he's younger there so it makes sense for us to be confused. but henry in the movie "explaining himself to alex for the past year" is a great cleaning up because at the start, henry has been clear on "ok but we can't do this long term."

this has been sitting on my drafts for too long (weeks) so i'll just post this now. and maybe update it, idk. this post feels too incomplete but i don't want to sit on it, so. whatever here it is. 🤣

id love to draw more byler kisses but i and a couple other artists i’ve spoken to (i mean it was a couple months ago now ah) got kinda nervous to draw that back when some part of the fandom were ‘cancelling’ people over the smallest stuff or making up assumptions off of ~vibes~ that aren’t even true. it made it discouraging for smaller artists bc of course we want to explore the romance but sometimes more than a little peck on the lips is needed, or feels more right. like as an artist you want to evoke emotion, and you can’t do that holding back just bc some people can’t handle some characters growing up? most of us just want to draw the deeper level of love we’ll be getting in s5 anyway. i know it shouldn’t matter/we can post what we want etc but especially on twitter people were soo extreme about anything other than basic content. idk if I’m explaining right, but are romantic kisses (not crazy passionate lol) something the fandom wants to see, not just cute little ones? maybe it’s better now idk, this post made me happy to see tbh 😅

Oh I definitely want to see the romantic kisses, the real big kiss and even it being passionate (not in a crazy way) because that's how you get the intensity of the relationships in romance for me personally at least

and don't get me wrong, I absolutely love them just holding hands too or doing cute relationships stuff but kisses are part of the majority of relationships, that is an experience most people and couples have in life, obviously not all and I'm NOT saying that who doesn't do it doesn't love equally, but it's just a different expression that should be represented too along with all the others!

I think people must stop to associate simple kissing with sex, like, NO ONE is asking for more explicit art of byler because they are too young for that to be okay obviously, and no one wants to see that!!!! but a kiss is just a kiss

and I personally want to say that people CANCELLING people because they draw a couple in a ship only kissing are completely out of reality, a kiss is there to express affection and love not always to get to more intimate parts of the relationship

Teenagers kiss in movies constantly, it's an expression of love, and it doesn't have to be leading to sex EVER, unless they want it to in their private moment that we are definitely not interested in seeing!!!

if you seriously think that kissing someone can only lead you to sleep with them you have a distorted view of affection, maybe because someone made you think it should but it absolutely does not have to lead to more intimate things!!! ( Never do anything that you don't feel comfortable doing, if you're ok with kissing it means that you're ok with kissing, anything MORE than that should be discussed between the people involved. )

How are artists supposed to give us cute content and cute art about the ship if you start cancelling everybody even when they did nothing wrong...?

Teenagers MUST get safe and healthy sexual EDUCATION in a safe environment, from doctors and teachers because they will want to do that anyway and it's important to inform them about these things so that they can protect themselves from catching diseases, ending up pregnant when they are too young for it or being forced against their will to do something or not respect someone's consent because no one taught them about respecting it and they learned about sex from the porn industry that is rather violent in almost every video 😕

but going back to this specific situation and byler... this is also weird because IN the show we had Mike and El making out when they were even younger than Mike and Will now! That could have really been avoided but it also doesn't mean that the writers are pedophiles for writing them kissing when they are in a relationship, that's just writing reality, they are in their first relationship and they want to kiss, the Duffers were extremely respectful in their depiction of a part of reality because of their ages obviously... you should go to complain to people that are actually doing weird suff in this industry like the writer of Euphoria for example 😐

being RESPECTFUL is the same thing that artists do here when they handle byler, they stay respectful but still capture a moment of reality... it's just drawing their first kiss that it's a symbol of them confessing their romantic feelings, it is not meant to be anything more than that!!!

Sorry I just got into this game like 2 months ago and don’t read many switch stories . What did they do in the climax that got people upset? (Switch and other climaxes?) sorry again.

asdhkjksks don't worry, it's really mostly fandom drama! not really something you need or even want to know about

but, with varying levels of detail, this is some of the discourse i saw during the events (most of this refers to arguments that spawned in the waiting time between story updates but not all of them, ex: double face):

crazy:b : story itself wasn't bad i hear but there was quite the uproar because it wasn't written by akira, even though they said he'd write these events

ra*bits: not rly much drama here because not that many people read it but the reveal of who bishoujo-senpai is exactly made impossible many key aspects of other major ra*bits events (sweet halloween, romantic comedy) (and there aren't that many ra*bits major events that can be retconned to begin with lol)

double face: unit was disbanded

atlantis: it seemed like eichi got proposed to by yet another girl even though he was in some arranged marriage deal with tori's sister. And that he hadn't told wataru about either of those things (in the end none of this was true but those 4 days of wait between story updates were agonizing)

valkyrie: this was pretty fine fandom drama-wise ? even though it's valkyrie. EDIT: i deleted the krnz b-plot from my mind. the krnz b-plot was bad. around this time also, the kanata-centric lookback scout abyss was released and they retconned and changed some chiaki and kanata bits in meteor impact it was sad

2wink: yuuta was too mean to shinobu (they hate to see a bpd baddie so he got cancelled on twitter). but it was also a plot built on a veeeery old story so there were also odd characterizations here and there at first that also threw off the actual 2winkP

alkaloid: written by kinosei again, it was just a filler holiday event, not quite a climax so. very disappointing.

undead: complaints about The Whole Thing this was bad. im not too well versed on them so i can't go into detail but from the ai thing to the lack of focus on some members there were many problems. plus it was the first time they posted those story summaries and having an apparently mid story explained again was the final nail on the coffin

akatsuki: i didn't hear much drama about this one either ? but akatsuki have had a streak of bad characterization so maybe it was resignation

trickstar: no complaints trickstar solos

ryuseitai: jury's still out but it seems it was a kind of weird story at first so there was also some discomfort here and there. sounds like it ended nicely though

switch: natsume was ooc (tried to strangle sora and did not even apologize even though normal natsume would've been devastated + was overall way too mean)

and i think that was all??? if anyone knows abt anything else do tell me let's study fandom behavior

In all honesty, I remember him throwing Ace under the bus and I’d assume that he’d be a tease sometimes lol So I can imagine how this + having A WHOLE FLOYD around would make Ace’s basketball career much more miserable than whatever Deuce and Jack have going on.

AHHH POOR CATER— To be honest, Cater is a victim of us first watching twst (the first four books) with an official ENG translation; rewatching it now, he feels much more understandable and fun as a character. But alas, we still don’t have any ships with him that would click with us enough to ship-ship him with someone ✊😔  

So for now he’s #singleaf, but honestly seeing just how much trouble the other guys cause to each other at all times, he’s probably better off like that lol

It could be interesting! We’re not super invested in either of the ships to be honest, but there are fun aspects to both of them, and jealousy could add another layer to Epel’s and Vil’s antagonism towards each other. Especially considering that it’d probably be Epel who’d be jealous, not Vil.

I feel like non-human characters such as Octovinelle, Savanaclaw, and diasomnia might view it differently than humans.

In Octavinelle and Savanaclaw case, i think topics such as Murder and/or cannibalism aren't necessarily seen as 'wrong' or 'bad'. I think we can all agree that nature is scary, and to survive, you'll have to be on top of the food chain. and in order to survive, you'll have to 'Kill' someone from your kind to eat or protect yourself.

A perfect example would be Ruggie: he came from poverty. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him, and his father's whereabouts are unknown after he claimed to leave for work. He was raised by his grandma. He did a few odd jobs here and there in order to get around. So i think he would know what 'survival' might feel like or how far someone might go to survive. I bet he went through agonising days and nights starving for food. I wouldn't put it past him to do (or already did) shady things to survive. Also, apparently, Ruggie can chew through bone, which hyenas also do! Nice bonus.

Then there's the Leech twins. Jade did mention once that their parents taught them self-defense when they were little, and their Mom often worries about them. It's also implied that they 'lost' a lot of their siblings. The coral sea that they came from are dark and cold, and most of the food they consume down there is raw. So i wouldn't put it past them to be completely desensitised from all the gory aspects of life not only because of survival but because of their "business" connections their father has. They have probably seen a lot of unhinged things since they were little.

BUT i do think that the Leech twins are a special case, lol. Unlike the other non-human characters, i believe that both of them would not only 'kill' in to survive but also because of boredom. You know how often these two mentioned how they hate to get bored and how they want to be amused? Yeah, i bet they killed/harassed a few mers just because they got bored and wanted entertainment. And it's not unheard of to hear/read about animals in the wild harassing other animals for entertainment, for example Some dolphins have been observed slapping little fish around for fun, or even tossing them up on a beach to watch them suffocate slowly. Again, nature's cruel.

As for the fae? it's hard to say, but seeing as they've been alive for so long (especially Lilia) and, of course, the war that happened in the past. I think it's fair to say that they see life and death in a different light than humans. But do fae have to kill in order to survive? i'm not entirely sure.

That being said, of course, there are expectations of humans doing the same thing or thinking the same thing, just like the non-humans. I mean, have you seen Rook? ;-;

I'm going to share with you one of my bedtime scenarios ☁️✨ (this isn't like a request or anything, I'm just sharing my fantasies because we're all besties here)

but basically the main girl (it's not even based on moi or anyone really which is weird I know) is basically like awkward but not in that annoying quirky way. basically just someone who's not very good at being social unless comfortable. she's bland and pretty much like the other girls. sounds rude but I'm getting somewhere with this lol she's self aware and she knows that she's a bit boring and it would be okay if she was happy with it but she feels like her life is a bit boring and there's something missing. she's not a good girl but she's also not slutty - again she's bland. she has had like one or two serious relationships and although she has done stuff, she has never let any man fuck her. and she's not necessarily waiting for the right guy or something like that, she just doesn't want to regret it. and men are pigs so y'know. she's also not too worried about it simply because society makes such a big deal out of it that I want my girl to not care. and also because her past experiences weren't bad but they also weren't great. she didn't experience that bliss that everyone seems to experience which made her sort of not care too much about sex (I just love the whole "Matty just does it better than every other guy" so much lol) after stumbling upon a particular filthy post on Tumblr or Twitter, she becomes interested in bdsm and all that (nothing too hardcore).

after researching for months she finally decides to stop being a coward and go to one of those private sex clubs (and this may or may not be based on a particular irl club lmao don't judge me). and basically they give you a bracelet with a specific colours and beads and they have meanings. her bracelet was white because it was her first time there (like karate 😭). her bracelet beads code for: virgin (no one's obligated to disclose that information, of course, but they encourage you to do it because (a) it's a sex club, no one's allowed to judge and (b) it's supposed to provide a layer of safety but what actually happens is that it attracts a lot of creeps and people only make the mistake of adding this bead to their bracelet once), inexperienced (when it comes to bdsm and that environment in general), switch (she's a sub but she is still in that "idkkk" phase) and open to meet people (some people are like "claimed" by someone else, only do scenes with one person, want to pursue instead of being pursued, or they just don't feel like socializing or whatever).

while she's taking care of the bracelet and all that with the front desk people, Matty is ordering a drink and he's been a regular for a while now so there is a level of familiarity with the bartender. Matty is 34 here and he just doesn't see the fun in this anymore. not even in a "I wanna settle down" type of way. he's had relationships and if they are into it, okay. if they aren't into it, also okay. he never had commitment issues, just hasn't met the right person I guess. anyway he just misses having a connection with someone. the bartender knows it and they talk for a while (how's the audience aka me supposed to know if they don't talk lmao) and then one of the girls Matty does some scenes with sometimes shows up and they go somewhere.

later, the main gal goes to the bar and orders like a soda or something without alcohol. doesn't matter. the bartender is super nice, you can tell that he enjoys his job and talking to people. so he immediately notices that she's getting attention because of her bracelet and tells her it was a mistake. it's not a lot of attention but it's starting to overwhelm her and making her feel weird. she's not the kind of girl people usually notice. so she leaves that area and tries to find a quiet place.

while she's roaming around the place she finds this area with normal hotel-like rooms but the walls are glass and you can see everything that's happening inside the rooms and that's the whole point - it's for people to watch. and again it's a bit overwhelming because there's too much going on at the same time: not only the people inside the rooms having not so vanilla sex but also the people outside. so she sort of takes a step back and she notices one room in particular: the room where Matty and the other girl were in. in my head, Matty isn't the kind of guy to like fuck the girls he plays with especially during a scene that involves voyeurism. I think unless he has an established/consistent connection with someone, he sticks to playing with the girls he casually does scenes with and he enjoys seeing them enjoying themselves so yeah. but idk, depends a bit on my mood tbh. the thing is that basically what the main girl sees is this really hot guy focusing on the girl (rare sadly) and as always more guys tend to go to these places than girls so the audience consists mostly of guys who are focusing on the girl and even the girls there are focused on the girl because Matty's doing stuff to her so makes sense. but she can't take her eyes off of him and he's good at what he does so he's just focusing on the girl and not on what's happening outside the room but when they are done he turns around and sees the girl looking at him with a bit of a dumb look on her face and he's intrigued because she looks so shy and surprised but how can she be when she dragged herself to that place. it's a bit paradoxical and I'm gonna shut up now lol goodnight
