Scott, Gem, and Martyn Secret Life Ep 1 commentary:

"Geez Scott, why are you so creepy?" / "Everyone needs a hobby <3"

Crying at Scott booking it across the grass to break up Scar and Jimmy as fast as humanly possible and they just start huffing and grumbling.

Scott after running into Pearl, Cleo, Jimmy, and Martyn - "I've bumped into every single one of my exes already..."

slkdjf Skizz apparently cut himself saying "I just wanna cause problems" out of his own POV but Scott got it all on tape

Skizz staying within 10 blocks of Gem is even funnier from Scott's POV because he needs Gem to hold his hand while he follows Scott around a corner... The delicate balancing act of obeying Scott's come hither but also pulling Gem along.

The dead silent push in on Scott's face when he notices Gem inching her base away from his and he's dreading starting his "obnoxiously attach your base to someone else's" task over.

Impulse: "Scott, is my cottagecore-ing okay? :)" / Scott, sweating his pretty little head off as he speed-builds so Gem doesn't catch him in the act, not even turning around: "Yep- looks great!"

Gem, emotionally trudging across the map with Skizz and Scott hanging off her.

I appreciate Gem's commentary of "How much room does this man NEED??"

Gem watching Scott un-merge their bases: "Oh, thank you" / Scott: "What do you mean by that. Why is that a relief to you."

Impulse and Gem going over the cliff is funnier with the context that Gem's task was to convince someone to "take a leap of faith while also ensuring they take no damage."

so empires smp is a fantasy setting right? so you know what we do when there's a fantasy setting? do complex worldbuilding to figure out how each empire would communicate of course :)

(basically this is just an excuse for me to dump my brain out a bit)

Codlands- i feel like the codlands wouldn't actually have a set way for communication. in my mind, it's one of the smallest empires and is pretty casual at that, so if they need a message sent out someone will deliver it personally

Crystal Cliffs- magic!! gotta use that magic for something. i feel like gem would use doves or something for more casual communication (for style points ofc) but if it's urgent i wanna say there's a way to magically kind of fax notes straight to someone. like you're sitting at your desk and POOF, note. i also like to think that her and fwhip exchange "talking notes" like that one in harry potter that ron gets where it records your voice i guess? i dunno i think they do it for gossip since it's best consumed spoken not written

Gilded Helianthia- duckies :)) i don't know a single thing about pearl's empire yet but i know it has a duck flag so yeah duck messengers

Grimlands- the grimlands uses a mix of carrier pigeons and ravens. plus, later on when fwhip learns a bit of magic he starts using the magic notes with gem but the actual citizens don't do that

House Blossom- is it house blossom or the overgrowth? i dunno i still need to watch katherine's pov. anyway i think people will just. get flowers that show up on their doorstep or something from the overgrowth. no one knows how they get there and the messages attached are always slightly cryptic

Mezalea- hot air balloons!! like joel's delivery service :D i think it's not very efficient but gets style points definitely. like imagine a tiny balloon floating down to your window to give you a note. that's magical

Maztec Empire- i feel like they don't communicate with anyone outside their own empire i dunno why. maybe cause it's called the lost empire? i know nothing about joey's pov yet tho so this will probably change

Mythland- they don't communicate sausage just appears behind you if he needs to tell you something. how? 🤷‍♂️

Ocean Empire- fish are best messengers. yeah they get the paper wet but look at their little faces. you're gonna be mad at that lil guy?

Pixandria- i'm gonna say that wandering traders give out messages for you. like mailmen. so there's a whole system of wandering trader comes back home, stocks up goods to travel again, someone pays for them to deliver a message, etc.

Rivendell- the owls! harry potter mfs using owls for mail 🤨 but i think scott actually uses an owl for mail in an episode but i'm not sure? i watched his pov like 8 months ago i can't remember

Undergrove- i'd have to give this some actual thought but at the moment i think it would be very funny if they could make mushrooms spell out messages like the mosquitoes in gravity falls. like they're very simple and always kind of misspelled

i have not watched all the povs so some stuff may not be accurate so please let me know if i should change anything (please feed my worldbuilding need please please please please please please)

After I watched more POVs I will make a new one, but already from Cleo's episode I am too stressed, GeminiSlay is so real, she is brutal

Roomies are still roomies, despite being infected Etho is very friendly and near the end lets them hide out and doesn't snitch on them, while he is with a group he does seem to pursue with them though

Gem and the Scotts are.. dead, likely, Gem, quotes from Scott "has no band loyalty" and Scott has too much to the point when Gem tried to kill him he didn't even punch back. Impulse, idk

Heart Foundation they are doing great honestly!! They seem like the most stable in the server tbh, even without the heart Mounders I have... no idea, weren't featured much in Cleo's ep, Bdubs and Pearl seem to be very friendly with each other but since Cleo's is all about avoiding them since they were the first infected, idk. Joel is (depressing) comedy gold still

Big Dogs as I said before, Martyn… surprisingly has very little aggression. Since he is red, he is immune to the infection, and is just wandering around. He doesn't kill anyone, only swings his sword a couple times to get a task (I assume) done, probably because he sees everyone else dropping like flies, he doesn't even wanna bother killing people this session

Trader Scar's is burning places down, left and right, he has no alliances, and I don't know if this is his task or he is just being Scar I can't tell

I'm, going to take a break, I can't take another episode except if it is from Bdubs, because we love you bdubs

Anyways I watched Cleo's pov. And by this point it seens like I'll be watching everybody's POV but Joey and Pris' LOL.

Her whole intro was an alternate timeline?? But also her magic can like not effect certain areas?

And she's already op? Like 27 gems in less than five minutes? And she's already got a lot of the magic figured out? She's going to be really hard to beat.

Not to mention, her video had a lot of lore? Which is like... really interesting and I wanna more. Not lore like her own character lore though, more like actual witch craft lore and shit.

Also the witches being from different timelines? What's up with that? So much to unpack in this episode..

Cleo is definitely an interesting pov to say the least, and I am excited to watch more of her.
