I LOVE YOUR WORKK
Hehehehe any witness to these two better pretend they saw nothing! Never mix business and pleasure guys!!!!
———————————————————————
The hotel had been pretty busy all day.
You and Alastor had been running around like chickens with how busy it was.
Charlie had wanted to revamp the redemption program.
So that meant the two of you were swamped with how to make these things successful.
The two of you were in your shared office and it was quiet.
The two of you had been sparing looks every now and then at each other.
You had finished most of your paperwork and made your way over to Alastor’s desk. You looked over his shoulder to see what he was doing. His ears twitched to make him aware of your presence.
You placed your hands on his broad shoulders, already finding tension “Why don’t we take a little break hmm? Youre gonna be stiff slouched over like this” your sweet voice said as you pressed your fingertips into his shoulders.
Alastor sighed, setting the paper, sitting back and letting you work your magic. You smiled as he relaxed and moved around the chair to settle in his lap, the sound of static hummed through the room as he melted into you.
You peppered his face in kisses as you grind your clothed pussy against him.
The stress of the day and being in close proximity with your man really had been doing a number on you.
You latched onto his lips, moaning softly as your clit caught against his hardened crotch.
You blinked when you felt the hard wood of the desk under your ass. Alastor looked at you with lidded eyes as he stood between your thighs and tapped his claws along your stockings, ripping little holes in them.
“How am I suppose to get any work done with you my dear” he asked rhetorically as he slipped his hand under your skirt and slid your damp panties to the side, claws teasing your sticky folds.
You gasped as a single digit sunk into your heat, quickly adding a second as your slick coated his hand.
He slotted his mouth against yours, tongue conquering your mouth and twirling your tongues together.
Your body seized as he worked an orgasm out of you, making you moan into his mouth. “A-Al oh!” Your thighs trembled as your cunt spasmed on his fingers.
You panted as he pecked your lips one last time and the sound of a zipper caught your ear. Alastor leaned you back, making you upport yourself on your elbows as he spread your legs a little bit more.
Your breath hitched as Alastor’s cock pushed into you.
”O-Oh fuck!” You moaned causing Alastor to bare his teeth as he set a steady pace, drilling his cock into you.
”we gotta make it quick darlin”
————————————————————————————-
The sound of the desk rattling in tune with his thrusts gradually was getting louder as he pounded your cunt.
”s-shit shit shit ah! A-Al aah ha!” You whined, throwing your had back on the desk as you tried to squirm away as another orgasm rips through you.
”You gonna cum for me hmm?” Alastor grunted as you gushed around him. He lowered his upper body onto yours as he slammed his hips into you over and over, not caring that you were staining his desk with your cream.
”please please please fuck fuck fuck! Ah!”
It was the moment you cummed at the slam of Alastor’s hip, all over his cock when the door to your office opened, you didn’t have enough time to sit up and push Alastor off when your eyes widened in horror as Charlie stepped through the door.
“Hey guys I just wanted to- OH SEVEN HELLS! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SO SO SORRY!” The princess slapped her hands over her eyes and scurried back out the door.
You felt like you could have disappeared. You looked at Alastor in shock when you felt his cock twitch ”A-Alastor…did you just?”
He hummed before moving his hips again.
Your eyes widened “Are you crazy! We need to I don’t know console Charlie erase her memory or die again”
The red demon ignored you as he flipped you onto your belly, legs shakingly supporting you as he sunk his cock back into you.
”Oh its Hell dearest im sure a couple of demons shaggin don’t phase her, besides I need your help going over some of the bigger details” he chuckled, kissing your shoulder.

Smallest Drop
Summary: Tav overhears Astarion complaining about their situation and decides to do what she can to make it a little better for him and she ends up surprising him in the process.
Tav isn't referred to by name. There might be a part 2 if this is well-received.

It started when she overheard a passing comment from behind her, grumbled in response to something Lae’zel said.
From the earliest parts of the day, they’d been making their way through difficult terrain; surrounded by thousands of bugs and mud up to their ankles. She’d tried not to complain about it though Astarion never shared her focus on quiet suffering and he had a fair point.
Though they’d managed to set up a fairly comfortable camp outside the grove – not wanting to impose nor deal with the druids for too long – they hadn’t really found any chance to properly bathe since their abduction.
The late afternoon glinted into her eyes as an idea presented itself.
She slipped away from the group almost excitedly to find the abandoned house where she’d spied it not long ago. After making sure it contained no nasty surprises, she’d left. It didn’t really have a roof and the majority of it had been burned down by some form of magical fire but most importantly, it had a tub.
One night together shouldn’t have made her so weak for the elf but despite all his sweetened words and falsities, he captivated her attention. She knew he meant little by it but sometimes those words made her days brighter regardless.
And she wanted to return the favour given how the muddy path came from her badly thought-out route.
The river running close by provided her with clean and cool water, not the easiest to move in large amounts but still able to fill the tub. It didn’t leak (a minor miracle) and she managed to use a little more of her already-exhausted magic to get a few charms warming the water up.
She smiled at her work proudly and left the charms to do her work while she made her way back to the grove to get some soaps.
Her shoulders shook a little as she eyed her small surprise. Proud and excited, she now faced the greatest of tasks.
Encouraging Astarion to actually step away from camp.
“No, thank you,” he said, dismissed her with the casual wave of a hand. “I’ve had quite enough traipsing through the forest for one day. If you want to continue finding every possible swamp insect to attack you, you’re welcome to be my guest.”
She sighed. “But I have something to show you. It’s a surprise.”
He smiled, strained. “My, aren’t you a desperate little thing. Maybe I’ll join you a little later in the night but for now, I’m afraid I don’t have the energy or the interest.”
“No, it’s not…” she groaned. “It’s just a bath, alright? I overheard you complaining about being dirty earlier so I found one for you.”
“Did you now?”
“Yes. Come along. Those runes aren’t going to last forever and I know you’re going to fuss about the water temperature.”
Astarion chuckled and she immediately knew he didn’t believe her. “I appreciate the creativity, darling. Really, I do, but you’ll find direct offers are far more effective on me.” He leaned closer and she became suddenly aware of how many eyes watched them from around the camp. “But if you’re really going to such lengths, I’m not going to deny you forever.”
Flushed, she stepped away and ducked her head. “Fine. I’ll use it myself but you better not complain once more about it.”
She ignored the slightly concerned expressions of her friends as she stormed back into the tree line by herself. Why she even thought he’d appreciate it… she shouldn’t have even bothered offering it to him. She really needed to be more selfish if she wanted to not get turned down by the vampire spawn again.
It stung more than she expected it to, even if she wasn’t offering anything more than an actual bath.
She brushed her fingers over the surface of the still-warm water when she got there and sighed. It still felt like a waste, even if she used it. Amazing how homesick she’d grown for her house when stuck out in the wild with nothing more of comfort than a single bedroll.
Maybe she should have stolen one of those beds from the goblin den they cleared.
The floor creaked and her hand flew to her weapon, spun around only to find a very arrogant elf who appeared annoyingly surprised.
“My, so it wasn’t even a ploy alone,” he said. “You genuinely managed to find a bath. I respect your dedication if nothing else. There are certainly easier ways of seeing me undressed.”
She rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to the water. “I was trying to do something nice for you but as you’re not interested, feel free to return back to camp.”
He stepped close enough to brush his fingers against her cheek. “Whoever said I wasn’t interested?”
“You did. In very direct words.”
“Well, things change. I’ve decided you’re quite right. It’s been far too long since I got to wash and you’ve been so sweet, setting it all up for me. I couldn’t be rude and turn you down right now, could I?”
Cursing the elf beneath her breath for his indecisiveness, she moved to walk past him. “Enjoy.”
Once again, she surprised him and Astarion took a second to respond, calling to her as she reached the edge of the charred flooring.
“You’re not joining me?”
She looked back at him. “Am I meant to be?”
“Why, yes. I can hardly be expected to do things like washing my hair all by myself. What if I get lonely or attacked?”
She frowned at him but he kept smiling at her in the same insistent way he did when he wanted something. The corner of his lips pulled up as though he knew a joke and didn’t want to share it. She couldn’t help herself but relent under his burning gaze; he’d done the same thing when she’d agreed to let him drink blood from her throat. Perhaps she should be concerned with where her willpower went when it came to this man.
“Alright,” she said. “I’ll help with your hair if you really need.”
“How fun.”
He insisted on being as distracting as possible when he got undressed. His constant glances at her met nothing in return but she couldn’t help glancing at the scars as he lowered himself into the tub.
Their ridges made her uncomfortable. Not knowing what it said frightened her for Astarion’s safety rather than her own.
Nothing good ever came from runes carved into flesh.
“There’s no need to act so shy, beautiful. You’ve seen me in far more compromising situations than this.”
She wouldn’t call their night together compromising but she ignored the comment regardless. His soft sigh of relaxation as he settled into the water worked wonders for clearing up her irritation.
How he managed to be so magnetic astounded her. She found a spot to sit behind him and slowly, gingerly, began to help him with his hair. Despite being ridiculously soft considering how long they adventured in the wilderness, it needed some careful care and attention.
She took care to stay gentle when she found where tangles turned into knots and worked them free without pulling. He gave a small hum when she had to give a soft tug and she took it as an okay to use a little more force.
“We don’t have much to work with but I did manage to get some things from the grove,” she said. “It won’t be up to your standards but I don’t think anything really is.”
Cagey about his past, all she knew surrounded the small snippets he gave her when upset or ranting. She doubted he’d ever had much time to fuss over which hair products he used, too busy watching over his shoulder for a constant threat. He still did so now when he thought nobody could see. His meditation never held him deeply as sleep took her.
“Regardless of whether or not it’s professional, I won’t complain about your skills with this.”
“Skills at detangling your hair?”
“At winning my favour.”
She frowned a little and focused on the white locks where they curled between her fingers. “I’m not only doing this because I want to impress you.”
“I’m sure you have other motivations,” he hummed, teasing. “But you know you’re more than welcome to join me whenever you’re ready. You chose a good-sized tub for both of us.”
She ignored him again, instead focusing on working out a tight knot. Once done, she encouraged him to lean back a little so she could massage the soap gently into his hair, rubbing soft circles against his scalp until his eyes fluttered closed and the smallest hint of relaxation showed in his expression.
Good. He carried far too much tension and she stopped herself from continuing the slight massage down to where she could see the stress in his neck and shoulders. How uncomfortable it must be but she didn’t want to encourage whatever strange idea he had about this situation.
Still, even if she hadn’t planned anything, she couldn’t deny her attraction.
She wanted to press her lips to the pale skin of his neck and trace the path of the water droplets as they pooled against his collar bone. She wanted to trail her hands over his sides and pull him close.
She coughed to stop her thoughts before they ran too far.
If the parasite in her skull didn’t kill her soon, she may just die from the way this elf made her heart pulse unnaturally fast.
“Everything alright?”
He sounded… well, still as flirtatious as ever but more concerned than she thought he would. She snapped her attention back to him and almost lost herself in those stunning eyes.
If she wanted to, she could so easily fall prey to his sweetened words and he really wouldn’t mind. He would encourage it even.
She finished washing the last of the soap from his hair and stood up somewhat uneasily. Pride still shone in her chest as he sat up properly, appearing far cuter than she anticipated with his hair falling flat against his skin.
She saw the invite on his lips before he even said it. Watched him flick whatever switch he had to draw her in and she hurried to leave.
“I’ll see you back in camp, alright?”
His confused expression followed her as she stepped away from the building but he didn’t call her back. She found her way back to camp with a slight heave to her chest and a desperate need for a distraction.
Though she really should have thought it through before she asked Lae-zel to spar with her. The bruise kept her up for the entire night – long enough to realise he didn’t come past for a taste of her blood in the evening.

I missed u (Matt Sturniolo x Y/n)
Tumblr media
Masterlist.
Warning: Smut content, don’t like it = don’t read it :)
Summary: You and your boyfriend Matt haven't seen each other for two weeks, and it's becoming unbearable for both of you.
•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•.•
Matt and I have been a couple for over a year now. Since the beginning of our relationship, we've always been very close, to the point where I don't think we've ever gone more than 2 days without seeing each other until last week.
I didn't think his absence would affect me so much. This week, Matt has been particularly busy with his YouTube channel, and he and his brothers have had quite a few projects to manage lately. As for me, I've been swamped with work; we're entering the Christmas season, so my job is busier than the rest of the year.
Anyway, it's been more than two weeks now since I've had the chance to see my boyfriend, and I feel like I'm going crazy. I have trouble sleeping without him, and I won't lie about the fact that I really want him right now. I know he feels the same way. The only times we've had the chance to call each other in the past two weeks were for him to relieve some pressure because, according to him, he "can't do it alone."
This leaves me desperate in the situation. I've tried to distract myself by masturbating several times, but it doesn't help. I'm incredibly horny, and the only thing that could help me right now is Matt.
I was quietly in bed at 1 a.m., unable to sleep as usual, when I was alerted by a message from my boyfriend on my phone.
Tumblr media
I knew teasing Matt wasn't a very good idea, firstly because he's been just as horny as me lately, so I knew it would frustrate him. Secondly, it would end up frustrating me too...
I could see Matt starting to type and then stopping, as if he was hesitant to send me a message. After waiting for several minutes, I decided to put my phone down when I realized he wouldn't respond.
Well, at least that's what I thought before receiving another notification on my phone...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got up from my bed to walk over to my wardrobe. I pulled out an assortment of lingerie I had bought a few days ago for this special occasion, especially for Matt. It was a blue lace set, Matt's favorite color. I knew it would drive him crazy to see me in it. The garter belt gave me a goddess-like figure, and the bra held my chest perfectly, although I knew Matt wouldn't waste a second to tear it off. I was already completely wet at the thought.
Barely finishing tidying up my room, he was already there knocking on my door. I hurried to run and open it for him in my little outfit.
"Hi-" he began to say before I cut him off, pulling him towards me by his collar and kissing him as I opened the door for him to enter.
"So eager," he said, disconnecting our lips with a smirk.
He took a step back to observe me in more detail when he saw what I was wearing. I could see his pupils dilate. I spun around to give him a better view, and he grabbed me by the waist after running his hand over his face to make sure he wasn't dreaming.
"Do you like what you see?" I asked, smiling.
His grip on my waist tightened as I locked eyes with him. He licked his lips and bit them, continuing to look me up and down.
"Do you remember your safe word?" he asked, bringing his hand to my throat to force me to look him in the eyes.
"Ketchup," I said, chuckling to tease him. He tightened his hand around my throat, eliciting a soft moan from my lips.
"I'm serious, y/n. What's your safe word?" he said in an intimidating voice, bringing his lips close to mine.
"Hmm, red," I said in a tiny voice, biting my lips. I could feel a warmth building between my legs just from his voice.
His eyes left mine to gaze at my slightly swollen, rosy lips from our previous kiss. A smile played on the corner of his face before he started advancing towards my bedroom, not letting go of my throat.
"Kiss me," I begged when we reached my room, and the back of my legs touched the side of my bed.
"What did you say? I think I misheard," he replied, amused by my impatience and desire.
"Please, Matt, kiss me," I pleaded, frustrated that he wouldn't press his lips against mine again. I looked pathetic, and he loved it.
He took off his t-shirt. "Show me that you deserve it," he said, chuckling before pushing me onto the bed so that I sat right in front of him.
I raised my eyes to him, giving him an innocent doe-eyed look. He looked at me as if he were a predator, and I was his prey. My eyes drifted to the bulge in his gray sweatpants in front of me before returning my gaze to him.
"Don't play shy with me, baby. I know you're dying for it. Take it," he said in an authoritative tone, grabbing my hair in a ponytail to clear my face while licking his lips.
I brought both of my hands to the elastic of his sweatpants, pulling them down to his ankles, leaving him in his boxers. He was bulging in his boxers; I had almost forgotten how sizable it was. Not too big to be unmanageable, but just big enough to fill me where I needed it. However, it had been a while since we had been intimate, and I already dreaded the pain I would likely feel when he penetrates me.
"Stop looking at it like that, suck it before I shove it down your throat, y/n. Don't make me wait," he said, abruptly pulling on my hair, making me sigh in surprise.
I started to palm him through his boxers, looking him straight in the eyes. I could see the intense desire burning in his eyes, making me smile in the moment.
"This is the last time I'm warning you, y/n. Stop teasing me, take it," he said, trying to hold back a frustrated moan when I removed his boxers.
"Or what?" I said, smiling playfully. I wanted to push him to the edge; I knew he wouldn't be gentle with me, and that's what I wanted.
He smiled, licking his lips to suppress a chuckle.
"You want to play like that, huh?" he said, running his thumb over my lips. I quickly took it between my teeth and nodded, looking him in the eyes.
"Fuck, I missed you so much," he said, removing his thumb from my mouth to grasp his member and press it against my lips, signaling me to open my mouth, which I eventually did.
Without warning, he immediately thrust it deep into my throat, catching me off guard and making me cough around his cock.
He chuckled but didn't stop his momentum. He began guiding my head back and forth faster and faster. I tried my best not to choke and to suppress my gag reflex every time he hit the back of my throat.
"I missed fucking your pretty little mouth like this, princess," he said, breathing rapidly. "You're so good with your tongue," he added, throwing his head back, making me moan around his cock.
Tears started to flow down my cheeks due to his constant abuse on the back of my throat, and he quickly noticed, coming to wipe my tears away with his thumb.
"Look at you crying like a baby when you were acting all tough just a few minutes ago," he said with a smirk. I furrowed my brows, unable to help but moan every time he opened his mouth to say something.
I was completely at his mercy, and I loved it. He let go of my hair to grasp my face with both hands before thrusting into me at an inhuman speed. He released moans and groans, and it only excited me even more.
He pulled out of my mouth suddenly, causing me to let out a sigh of relief and frustration. "Why did you stop?" I asked, breathless.
He leaned in to kiss me fiercely. "I'm not done with you, baby, don't worry," he said, smiling against my lips before pushing me to move back towards my headboard. He was now positioned above me, his lips glued to mine without any struggle for dominance; his tongue didn't have to fight for control.
His hand moved from my cheek to my neck, then to my chest, where he paused for a moment to play with my nipples through my delicate lace bra, making me moan again, this time into our kiss. I felt completely intoxicated, drugged by him, by his lips on mine, and his hands on my body. I was on fire, completely consumed by him. I wanted him to do unimaginable things to me.
His hand left my chest to roam my waist, where he sank his fingers before descending to my lower abdomen.
My breathing quickened; he was getting closer and closer to where I needed him. I couldn't take it anymore; I only dreamed of one thing: him touching me.
He started playing with the lace of my panties, frustrating me at the moment. I wanted him to go further, but I knew he was punishing me for my previous behavior. "Matt, please," I said, moaning and closing my eyes. I needed him to touch me; I was dying for it.
"Please what, baby? You're a big girl; formulate a proper sentence, princess," he said with a big smile. He knew exactly what I wanted; he just wanted me to say it. He enjoyed seeing me beg; he loved it.
"Please touch me, I need you. Stop making me wait. I promise to behave like a good girl. Please, touch me, Matt," I pleaded, moaning pathetically. He directed his lips to my neck before finally touching me through my panties.
I let out a sigh of relief when I finally felt his fingers apply pressure to my clit. He made agonizingly slow circular motions, and I began to squirm against the mattress, frustrated because I wanted more. I needed more.
"Matt," I said in a frustrated moan, feeling him smile against the skin of my neck. He slipped his hand into my panties this time, letting out a surprised moan in my ear when he felt how wet I was for him.
"Soaked like a little slut," he said before coming to suck marks on my neck.
"Yes, your slut, and only yours," I replied, moaning when he started massaging my clit harder and faster. I couldn't help but moan at this point; it was stronger than me. I could feel that familiar knot tightening in my stomach; I had been waiting for days to finally climax properly.
But suddenly, and without warning, as I dangerously approached my orgasm, he removed his hand from my panties. I raised my head with a frustrated moan once again. He sat up to look me in the eyes with a satisfied smile. "What's wrong? Were you about to come? Did I stop at the wrong moment?" he said, chuckling.
"Matt," I told him, looking at him with frustration for what he had just inflicted on me. He took me by the waist to switch our positions this time, him below and me just above him.
"You're lucky it's been two weeks since we've done anything. If it weren't the case, I would have left you hanging to punish you for how you behaved with me," he said, grabbing me by the throat before giving me a hip thrust, rubbing his erection against my still clothed pussy.
I let out another moan before leaning slightly forward to rest on my arm placed on his chest. "Take off your panties before I tear them off," he said, smiling.
I moved off him to remove my panties and then straddled him. He directed me towards his face. "Ride my face, baby," he said authoritatively.
I hesitated for a moment before giving in and positioning myself just above his face. His arms wrapped around my thighs as if to prevent me from escaping his grasp. I slowly let myself fall onto his face, and when I felt his tongue on my pussy, I thought I was going to go completely insane.
He began to lick my clit going progressively faster and humping against me which sent vibrations directly against my clit, I hadn't put my weight on his face for fear of smothering him but I could feel my thighs weakening as the minutes passed. He began to lick my hole assiduously, his nose rubbing against my clit which pushed me even further towards my orgasm, his fingers were planted in my thighs when he felt them trembling because they were weakening, he came to press on them to force me to put all my weight on his face.
I tried to resist but I was so obsessed by the effect he was having on me that I finally cracked, leaving all my weight on his face, which caused the pressure of his nose on my clit to increase, making me moan louder than the previous ones.
I started rubbing back and forth on his face controlled by my pleasure it was all just too much for me the sensation in my lower belly started to become unbearable "M-matt- oh my- fuckkkk" I said closing my eyes feeling my orgasm approaching.
I raised my pelvis because I felt that all this stimulation was too much for me, the orgasm that was dangerously close was driving me crazy but Matt had another plan in mind with the help of his arms he came to press again on my thighs to force me to stay in place, he started to eat me with more passion I threw my head back when I felt my orgasm coming "fuck- I'm going to cum. "I groaned, almost screaming, at the pleasure he was giving me, and suddenly the pressure was off again. I came all over his face, shouting his names and a few insults along the way, before letting myself fall onto the bed next to him.
My eyes were closed, I was out of breath and Matt came to stand beside me, kissing my cheek before whispering in my ear "I'm still not done with you", I could hear his smirk in the tone of his sentence.
He straightened up and turned me against the mattress, now on my stomach. "Matt, wait, I'm too sensitive," I said, turning my head slightly towards him. He grabbed me by the hips and arched me so that I was level with his pelvis.
"I don't care you can take it I know you can." he said in my ear before straightening up and rubbing his member against my hole. His free hand caressed the length of my back before grabbing the back of my neck and pressing my head against his pillow.
He knew it'd been a while so he gently pushed inside me and I let out a moan of pain at the burning and stretching sensation, he stopped halfway through to ask me "Are you all right princess?" and I couldn't help but smile at his concern, it was so paradoxical that he should ask me that after fucking my throat like a monster and giving me one of the most powerful orgasms I'd ever had.
"Yes, baby, you can move, I just need to get back to your size," I said, moaning softly. He moved forward again until he hit bottom and let out a beautiful moan.
"I can't believe this pussy is mine." he said as he caressed my ass before starting to stroke back and forth.
"Fuck you're really tight I'm not going to last very long." he moaned clutching my hips as if his life depended on it.
I felt like I'd gone completely stupid because of his cock, it was going exactly where I needed it to go, the only sounds coming out of my mouth were moans and my boyfriend's name, as if my memory had been wiped and those were the things left out of my vocabulary.
He started to speed up the movement and he brought his hand to my clit to play with it was still super sensitive so I couldn't help gesticulating when he did that.
"I'm gonna fucking cum y/n" he said in an animalistic moan his movements had become severely fast he was slapping the bottom like I'd never been able to feel it in my belly.
"Cum with me princess." he said as he felt my pussy clench around him I didn't need to speak he knew my body by heart he knew I was about to cum.
And after a few more thrusts I came for the second time, my vagina convulsing around his cock, pushing it to the edge before he cum inside me.
We stayed in that position for a moment, just long enough to catch our breath, before he pulled out of me and lay down beside me.
With what little strength I had left, I snuggled up to him, "I love you, baby," he said, running his hand through my hair.
"I love you too," I replied in a tired voice with my eyes closed.
"I'm going to run you a bath, my princess, and I'll drop you off at work in the morning, don't worry." he said with a smile before standing up.

You met Tim Bradford less than a week after he left the Army and quickly became one of his closest friends. Despite the secret kisses shared without thought, holding each other tightly for no reason, and falling asleep in each other’s arms, you continue to be just friends with Tim Bradford. Being part of his life for so long means you’ve seen more than most. You were at Tim and Isabel’s wedding, gave him a place to stay after the divorce, and you fell in love with him without even trying.
Since his divorce from Isabel, you’ve shared a few more thoughtless kisses, said “I love you” before ending phone calls, and slept in the same bed simply for comfort on more than one occasion. You know you need to stop, however, because Tim is still attached to Isabel, as far as you can tell. She calls occasionally, and he rushes to answer the phone, leaving you like an afterthought as the woman he truly loves becomes available again. You’re unwilling to be a rebound or a distraction while Tim works on his relationship with Isabel, but you can’t decide how to set a boundary you don’t want.
It's nearly midnight, and you can’t sleep with thoughts of Tim running through your head. As you consider the idea of simply giving him space, letting him know that you both have things you need to deal with before you can be his friend again, your phone rings. Tim’s name and face light up your dark room and life before you answer.
“Hey,” you greet.
“Hi. I- did I wake you up?” Tim asks.
“No, I couldn’t sleep.”
“Me neither. Are you okay?”
When Tim asks that question, you realize that the only thing you want from or for Tim is for him to be happy. Alone, in the dark, you acknowledge that the only way for him to be happy is if you are willing to move out of the way of what he really wants. If you step away and give him room to work out his feelings toward Isabel, maybe he can find what he wants and focus entirely on that.
Tim says your name, and you rush to say, “Yeah, I’m fine, just- just thinking.”
“You want me to come over?” he offers.
“No,” you answer quickly – too quickly. “It’s late, and I’m really fine. Are you?”
Tim sighs before answering, “I guess. Isabel called today to tell me she’s going back to rehab. She wants me to come by once a week, act as part of her support plan.”
“Do you think it’s a good idea?”
“I enabled Isabel for so many years that I don’t know.”
“You’ll do the right thing, Tim. You always do.”
A memory of last week, when Tim kissed you during a walk on the beach, flashes through your mind. Was that the right thing?
“Or you have too much faith in me,” he argues.
“I think I have just the right amount of faith in you.”
“It’s your turn to pick dinner on Friday.”
You see an opening to pull back and tighten your grip on your phone as you ask, “Actually, can we skip this week? I’m swamped and don’t know if I’ll be able to make it. I’d hate to leave you waiting.”
Tim hesitates before agreeing, “Sure. Just let me know when you’re free. We can do whatever you want.”
“I will,” you reply softly. “I’m getting tired now, though, so goodnight, Tim. And good luck with Isabel and your decision.”
“Yeah, thanks. Goodnight.”
You bite your tongue to keep from saying I love you one last time, and as you set your phone down, actively pulling away from your best friend, you want to call him back and ask if you ever had a chance. Instead, you press your face into your pillow and force yourself to think about other things as you fall asleep.
✯✯✯✯✯
You sit in bed and stare at your phone as your finger hovers over the star beside Tim’s contact. When you remove him from your favorites list, everything will begin to feel real. Just as you lower your finger, your phone buzzes with a text from Tim. Three simple words make your heart pound as you read them.
Call me, please.
You want more information before you decide to call him or not. Distancing yourself will be hard enough without Tim vying for your attention the entire time you pull away. Clicking the star so it disappears, you make the first step in separating your life from Tim Bradford’s.
“Please be the right choice,” you whisper, staring at his contact photo. “I just want you to be happy. Happier than I could make you.”
An hour later, your phone rings, and you send Tim to voicemail. If it is an emergency, he’ll leave a voicemail. With each unanswered call and text, the time between them lengthens. Maybe Tim has already realized you weren’t as important to him as you both seemed to think.
By the end of the first day not talking to Tim, you want to scream and cry simultaneously. It’s hard to lose a friend, but harder to lose the one person you love. Reminding yourself constantly that you’re doing it for Tim and his happiness, you don’t give yourself time to think about how much your decision and the distance are hurting you. You knew Tim would hurt for a while before finding his way back to Isabel, but you weren’t expecting to feel like a piece of your heart had been ripped out. That’s what you get for giving it to Tim without telling him, you suppose.
✯✯✯✯✯
After a sleepless night of tossing and turning, someone knocks on your door as the sun rises over Los Angeles. You roll out of bed and pull a sweatshirt over your head before looking through the peephole. Tim stands on the other side of the door and speaks before you can think about pretending to be gone.
“I know you’re here,” Tim calls. “I don’t have a lot of time, just wanted to check on you before work.”
After you open the door, you look out at him and give him a closed-lip smile. He looks at you like he can see straight through you, and you wouldn’t be surprised if he could.
“We made a huge arrest last night and a couple of us are going out tonight to celebrate,” he says instead. “Do you want to come out with us?”
“Uh, no, but thanks for the offer. I’ve got a lot going on right now, and-“
“Like what?”
You tilt your head to the side, wondering what he means.
“What’s got you so busy that you can’t even text me back?”
“I- I don’t want to talk about it right now, Tim,” you say, opting to deflect rather than lie. “But congratulations on the arrest and have fun tonight.”
Tim’s jaw tightens as he nods. You watch as he walks away, wishing you could run after him. As you close your door, you decide that slowly pulling back will not work; if you want to give Tim room to find his way back to Isabel, you must leave him.
Pushing your fist against the closed door, you take a deep breath before walking through your place and gathering everything that reminds you of Tim. After placing it in a box, you shove it into your closet. Next, you turn off the notifications in your phone, so you won’t be tempted to answer when he calls or texts. The hurt of losing Tim worsens with each action as you pull yourself further away from him.
“Please be happy,” you beg as you close the door on your box of memories.
✯✯✯✯✯
“You’re grumpier than usual,” Nolan notices. “I mean- sorry,” he adds quickly.
“Timothy,” Angela calls. “A word?”
“No,” Tim replies.
“Bradford, now.”
Tim rolls his eyes as he stands and walks to her desk. She gestures for him to sit, and while he should feel like a kid in the principal’s office, he feels more like a man being told his wife is divorcing him and having to maintain a brave face even as his heart shatters in his chest.
“What do you want, Lopez?” he asks. “No small talk.”
“I wouldn’t dream of trying with you, Timothy. I want to know what’s up with you and why you’re taking it out on everyone here.”
“It’s none of your business.”
“You’re making it our business by pushing your frustration, or whatever it is you’re dealing with, off onto us. Is it Isabel? I heard she’s back in rehab.”
“No,” Tim answers, scoffing as he leans back. “It’s not Isabel.”
“Is there any chance that part of you still cares about her, and even if you’re lying to me and yourself about it, Isabel still affects you?” Angela asks.
“No, Lopez. I can guarantee that this has nothing to do with Isabel. She asked me to visit her as part of her support plan and I told her I would think about it, but the ‘source of my frustration’ hasn’t even let me do that.”
“Timothy, just tell me what’s bothering you and maybe I can help,” she offers quietly.
Tim stands as he replies, “You can’t. The only one who can help me with this is avoiding me.”
Angela’s brows furrow as she wonders who he could be referring to. Tim is adamant this isn’t about Isabel, but Angela can’t think of anyone else with this level of pull over him.
“Let me know if you change your mind and want to talk, Tim.”
“Will do,” he answers, though he and Angela know it’s a lie.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Isabel!” Tim calls, jogging to catch up to her. “Hey.”
“Hi,” she replies, hugging him quickly. “I thought you were going to call my sponsor with your decision.”
“I was, and I did. But I also wanted to let you know, in person, that I can’t be part of your support plan. At least, not right now, not after everything I did over the last few years.”
Isabel nods as she guesses, “You feel partially responsible and don’t want to risk letting me fall back into my old ways. I get it, Tim, but thanks for considering it.”
Tim nods, and Isabel can tell something is bothering him.
“You want to stay? Talk for a bit?” she asks.
“I can’t. I’ve got a work thing,” he replies. “Thank you, though, and good luck with everything. I’ll be back by when I have some time.”
“Tim,” Isabel interjects, wrapping her hand around his forearm. “I recognize that look. I only saw it once, and it didn’t turn out well for me. Whatever it is you want to say to whoever it is, just say it.”
“I don’t know how,” Tim admits.
“My take: if she’s important enough to affect you like this, you’ll find a way to let her know what you’re feeling.”
“What if she doesn’t care, Isabel?”
“I can’t tell you what to do, Tim, but I can tell you that waiting too long doesn’t make things any easier… I have to go, I’ve got a group meeting, but, Tim, what’s worth the risk: saying something or keeping it quiet until it’s too late?”
Tim nods before he waves as Isabel turns toward another building. Tim texts Nolan that won't be at the celebratory gathering while he walks to his truck. He knows where he needs to go but doesn’t know how to deal with everything once he gets there. Hopefully, seeing you will give him the right words to say.
✯✯✯✯✯
You broke your heart trying to let Tim be happy and keep yourself from getting hurt in the fallout of losing him. Your house seems bare, every picture and memory of Tim tucked away in a failed attempt to keep your mind off him. A knock draws you out of your miserable reverie. Whoever it is knocks again when you leave it unanswered, the sound harsher and louder than the first time.
“Coming!” you call.
You open the door without thinking and are surprised to see Tim standing on the other side.
“Can I come in?” he asks in response to your stunned silence.
Say no, your mind says, but your heart makes you step back and invite him inside again. Pushing him away the second time will be much worse, but you can’t seem to stay away from Tim.
“Whenever you’re ready,” Tim says.
He leans against your kitchen counter with his arms crossed, waiting for an explanation you don’t want to give. The whole point of making room for him and Isabel to reconcile (like he wants) was for Tim to figure it out himself.
“Ready for what?” you ask defensively.
Tim shakes his head and scoffs as he tightens his arms over his chest. “You’re unbelievable, you know that? After everything we’ve been through together, you really expect to avoid me without an explanation or question?”
“Everything we’ve been through?” you repeat incredulously. “We’re friends, Tim. Friends stop hanging out when one of them gets busy.”
“Oh, now we’re friends? Were we friends when you crawled into my bed three weeks ago, or when we were making out on the beach? Because that didn’t feel very friendly,” he snaps.
“No, we weren’t friends; I was just a woman who made a mistake,” you reply.
“Am I your friend or am I a mistake?” Tim demands. “Because you can’t seem to keep your story straight. It’s a simple question: why are you avoiding me?”
“If I’m such a bad friend, why does it matter, Tim?”
Tim pushes off the counter, stepping toward you. His jaw clenches, and his biceps flex as he raises his arms in question. You would kiss him any other time, but right now, you’re angry that he can’t just trust you are busy. Granted, it is a lie, but you don’t appreciate the accusation, which is likely your emotions talking.
“I’m not answering your question unless you answer mine,” he says.
“Then I guess we’re not going anywhere.”
Tim looks up at the ceiling before asking, “Why?”
“I’m not going to stand here and argue with you all night. If you think I’m a liar, just say it, Tim!”
“Well, you are the one keeping secrets.”
“So, what, you think I’m avoiding you? Then get out and let me!” you demand.
“And go where? In case you haven’t noticed, I’m not surrounded by friends, and I thought you were one of the few I had, but I can see now that I made a mistake.”
“Me too.”
“I’m sorry that your precious, perfect little world decided to turn you into this,” Tim seethes, looking into your eyes as he steps toward the door.
You move with him, chest to chest, as you yell, “And I’m sorry that you couldn’t figure out I love you enough to let you go back to Isabel!”
Tim falls silent, and your chest heaves with anger. You realize what you admitted, drop your gaze to Tim’s chest, and lick your lips before lowering your voice to speak again.
“Maybe I was stupid for chasing after you when I knew you weren’t interested, that your heart would always be with someone else. I thought that someday you’d realize that everything I’ve done over the last few years has been for you; I’ve been chasing you just to find out that I never had a chance.”
“I don’t want to go back to Isabel,” Tim says after a moment of tense silence. “I went to see her today to tell her that I couldn’t be there for her anymore. If I’ve been acting different, chasing after someone, it’s because I’m falling for you.”
“You don’t fall,” you argue quietly.
“You deserve better,” Tim adds. “I don’t remember what it’s like to share my life with someone who cares about me and wants the same thing.”
You nod and try to step back, but Tim moves with you. The couch is right behind you, and you have nowhere to go, so you look into Tim’s eyes.
“I am not in love with Isabel,” Tim repeats. “You really started avoiding me because you thought I was?”
“What else was I supposed to do?”
“You could have asked instead of forcing me to start a yelling match for answers,” Tim replies, his lips quirking up into a small smile.
“I want you to be happy, Tim,” you explain. “And I thought that couldn’t happen if I was in the way.”
“You’re not in the way. You’re exactly where I want you.”
“Where is that?” you ask, leaning toward Tim.
“Right in the middle of my life.”
You raise your arms over Tim’s shoulders, smiling as his hands meet your waist. Tim pushes you against the back of the couch as he kisses you. He moves a hand up to cradle your head as you move with him. This kiss differs from the others; there is a need for more, an apology, and love coursing through you and Tim. Tim pulls back, and you pant for air as he places his hands on either side of your hips and leans forward.
“Just talk to me next time, would you?” he requests.
“And miss out on this? No way,” you argue.
“Don’t seem so excited about getting to yell at me for so long.”
 “You’ve never kissed me like that before,” you say before you distract Tim by moving your hands to his chest.
“You’ve never told me you love me before today.”
“Sorry I had to avoid you for a while to confess it.”
“Maybe we can do it again soon, without the insults before.”
“I don’t know,” you muse. “Insults and yelling are kind of your thing.”
Tim cuts you off, kissing you again and tipping you over the back of the couch. You laugh as he catches himself and hovers over you.
“I love you too, even though you were too blind to see I felt the same,” Tim whispers.

"He Can't Have You" (Astarion x Reader)
Seems as though Auntie Ethel doesn't go down without a fight, and that fight involves bringing out the worst in people's minds. (Also we get to see where the nickname Aster came from)
tw - mentions of abuse, panic attack
The Sunny Wetlands, later revealed to be a putrid swamp, have proven particularly difficult for Astarion. The last thing any of you expected was to find a Gur hunting him, especially this far from the city. It made your heart skip a beat, hearing the monster hunter utter his name, and you could feel the tension in the vampire. Thankfully, you did away with him quickly. By now, he's told you plenty about his past, at least as much as he could bear to tell. That haunting feeling though, knowing that Cazador was hunting him, it was paralyzing. As you searched for Mayrina, you and Astarion fell behind the rest of the group.
"Are you alright my love? I could tell them we should just set up camp for the night, rest up for dealing with the hag."
"Nonsense. What would I look like, asking everyone to stop for me? The Gur has been dealt with, let's just leave it at that darling."
"I cannot imagine dealing with the hag will be easy though."
"I'll simply run my blade through her like I do everything else. I'll be fine."
It hasn't been long enough with him to truly know if he's lying, but you certainly have a hunch. On the way back to the hag's house, Gale casts detect magic.
"She's definitely in here. We should be prepared."
Sure, she looked like a sad old woman, but those adventurers told you the truth, how she took their sister. When Karlach leads the charge, opening the door, she tries to look shocked.
"Oh dear! It's quite rude to storm into someone's house like that. Where are your manners?"
Without responding, Karlach throws her axe into the hag's shoulder, breaking the illusion, showing the monster for who she is. Covered in grime, like a witch born straight from the mud.
"It looks like I'll just have to teach you all how to be polite!"
Karlach tries to go for a second hit, but the hag teleports. Gale soon tracks her down, casting a ray of frost. Astarion follows her up the stairs while she tries to counterspell Gale. You and Lae'zel try to attack from a distance, missing because of just how quick she can move from place to place. Wyll has focused on assisting Gale, and Shadowheart is keeping track of all your party members, making sure to be there as soon as one of you takes a hit. In the meantime, she casts guidance on Astarion, who is fighting much more intensely than usual. Perhaps killing the Gur wasn't enough, and the anger was still boiling inside.
"Alright little mosquito, you want to be a thorn in my side? Poor decision."
The hag disappears from sight, and Astarion stops in his tracks. At first you think nothing of it. It almost looks like he's searching the room for where your enemy landed. For him though, the hag has cast a strong illusion, preying on his worst fear: being back in Cazador's grasp. The teahouse has transformed into the kennels, cold stone on bare feet, blood spattered across the walls.
Well, well, well. Seems as though the boy never learns! Perhaps, this time, will set you straight.
He hears the voice of Godey taunting him, threatening to pull him apart again.
"No! No, I left- I left, I was free!"
It's at this moment you realize he's not here, not in the mental sense.
"Focus on the hag, I'll try to snap him out of it."
You order the rest of the group, and they nod without a word, searching the teahouse for where she's gone now. You run up the stairs, finding a trembling pale man who has dropped his daggers.
Deep down, you like bein' leashed, don't ya?
The words bounce around in his head, a vision of Cazador appearing. You try to shake him, to mentally connect him back to his body, but it only plays into the illusion more, your actions becoming Cazador's.
"Astarion! Astarion it's just a spell, it's not real. It's not real my love, please."
Soon enough, your group finds the hag again, disrupting her concentration, releasing her grip on the elf. His breathing is terrifyingly fast, and he takes a moment to come out of the vision, grabbing a dagger from the floor and very quickly brandishing it towards you.
"DON'T."
You're trying desperately not to cry, because you know he doesn't need your shared sadness right now.
"Hey, it's okay. It's just me, Tav."
You lightly touch the hand holding the dagger, and he loosens his grip. Your hands move to take the blade from his grasp, setting his weapons to the side.
"I... I was there. I was back there."
"I know. Seems as though Ethel knows more than she should."
Astarion is still trying to root himself back in reality, you blood still racing in his dead veins.
"I can't go back Tav. Please, I can't go back."
"I know. I won't let you end up back there, ever."
He's still weary of physical touch, so you simply rub across his knuckles, trying to ground him in the moment. Your deepest urge is to wrap yourself around him and never let go, keep him in a protective case where no one can ever hurt him again, but that's not real. Being entirely safe isn't real. But damn, do you wish it was, for his sake.
As you're sitting there with him, the group makes their way back.
"We lost her. Have a feeling she went deeper into a cave somewhere."
You eye Karlach, and the two of you come to a silent understanding as you hold onto Astarion's shakey hands.
"We'll go set up camp where we entered the swamp. Take your time."
And with that, the tiefling takes the rest of your companions out of the teahouse, leaving the two of you alone.
"Why?"
You turn to look at him, cocking your head slightly.
"Why what?"
"Why would you say you won't let me end up there again? Cazador isn't some being you can simply keep me from, he's... different."
"I don't care."
"What do you mean you don't care?"
"I just, don't care. I don't care how powerful he is or whatever abilities he has, he can't have you. He just can't."
You finally do tear up now, not sure how else to explain it to the vampire.
"He most definitely cou-"
"No."
You try to blink the tears away, feeling the little callouses on his palm from over the decades.
"I want you to know what it's like to belong to someone in a pure way, not for personal gain, but just because they need you. And now that I have you... I just need you. I need you Astarion, so he can't have you. I'd die before he could take you from me."
He's silent for a moment. All forms of ownership he's known have been terrifying. Whatever could you mean by belonging to someone in a pure way? How can you belong to someone innocently? Your tadpole senses his concern, connecting without much effort at all.
"I don't need anything from you. I don't need you to do anything for me, I just need you Aster."
He smiles a little.
"Aster?"
"Yeah. Sorry, I had just been thinking about it. If you don't like it-"
"No I- I love it. Aster. Like the flower?"
"Yeah."
Somehow, the teahouse is peaceful in this moment. You feel young all over again, like you've never been in love before, like Astarion is the only being you've ever known. He interrupts your thoughts.
"Thank you, for saying all that. Maybe I wouldn't mind belonging to someone without expectations. It sounds, nice."
His voice cracks on the last word.
"Well, Aster, then you can belong to me as long as you'd like."
You swipe a piece of hair behind his ear, looking for a reason to get close to his face. As if the fates knew it to be true, you lock lips, despite the horrific smell outside and the creaking wood of the floorboards, you're somewhere else. Some place where the asters bloom in peace.

Heeled Grace
Alastor x female reader
Summary: After being Alastor's plus one to an overlord party, your feet start to hurt due to your footwear, you flee the party, and Alastor helps you take your heels off ;)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
You couldn't resist the opportunity when Alastor asked you to be his plus one to an overlord party. A party with a man who's just as much of a gentleman to everyone else in hell? Oh, absolutely. You were a little nervous though, being in a room filled with some of the most powerful beings in all of hell. You didn't have to worry; Alastor was there to make sure you were comfortable.
AT THE PARTY
You were currently linked arms with the Radio Demon as he stood proud with his wide smile, talking to a fellow overlord about something you didn't quite understand. You had been standing on your feet for way too long; your feet were killing you. You shifted on your feet, and Alastor, the observant one, noticed. He bent down slightly and whispered in your ear, "Are you alright?"
You mustered up your best fake smile and replied, "These heels are killing my feet." Your fake smile turned to a look of discomfort; his red eyes looked over your face for a second and he asked, "Should we head back?"
"If you want; this is your thing," you said as you looked around, and he did the same.
"I’d rather not be here if you are uncomfortable," he said with a sweet tone.
"What time does it end?" you asked, still uncomfortable. Despite his smile, he felt bad to see his pretty little plus one in pain.
"Three more hours," the demon replied. His eyes looked down at your heeled feet, then back at your face; you were most definitely in pain. He had brought you to the function; he didn't want to put you out more.
"I can try and wait; I don't want to ruin your night."
"You won’t ruin my night. If you are uncomfortable, then we can go now."
BACK AT THE HOTEL
You were now at the hotel; Alastor had brought you back to the hotel and to his room. With a flick of the wrist, Alastor's fireplace was lit, and he helped you sit down in a chair in front of the fireplace. Then he grabbed a chair from his table, set on the wooded, swamp side of his room. Alastor tapped his lap, signaling you to place your foot on his leg, and you did.
"Allow me," he murmured, his gloved fingers deftly working to unfasten the clasps of your heels. With a soft click, they fell away, revealing the delicate arch of your foot. You had only watched him; from the angle the two of you were sitting, the flames of the fire illuminated his face, bringing out some of his features.
Alastor extended his leg, offering it as a makeshift perch for your tired foot. Without hesitation, you accepted, placing your other heel-clad foot onto his thigh with a sigh of relief. His claws brushed against your skin slightly as he worked on the clasp of your heel, which was much smaller compared to his bigger claws.
As Alastor's gaze lingered on you, his eyes hooded, his movements deliberate, each touch sending a shiver down your spine as you surrendered to his tender ministrations. A close-lipped smile played upon Alastor's lips as he met your gaze. In that fleeting moment, as he held your foot in his hand.
And as the last clasp fell away, Alastor released a soft chuckle, and you giggled. The flames still illuminated your faces, and you weren't sure if it was the fire or Alastor, but you felt warm. Alastor then placed your delicate foot back down and straightened out his pants, his close-lipped smile returning to his usual sharp-toothed smile as he looked at you.
You two shared a moment; you didn't know how to put it, but it truly was perfect. He then held out a hand, and you took it. He helped you up and twirled you by the fireplace; the skirt of your dress spun with you, and you smiled. "Thanks for tonight, Alastor."
"Anytime, my dear."

~~~~~
You can remember exactly when this odd arrangement started. John had called to say he’d be working late again and that he couldn’t make date night but that you weren’t to worry, he’d sorted something out and you wouldn’t be missing your reservation and you should wear that pretty green dress he bought you. Safe to say, when Simon Riley showed up that night and escorted you to dinner you were confused, even more so when you got home and John picked up the conversation exactly where Simon had left off at the door. Simon hadn’t even said good night, just opened the door for you. There was no room to question it so you wrote if off as a one off, John not wanting you to miss out on something you’d been looking forward to. And then it happened again.
John had unexpectedly been called to base to deal with an incident while you were out shopping. You’d told him that you’d be fine with a taxi but he insisted he’d sort it. So twenty minutes later when Johnny showed up and started picking up things off your list and saying things like “Oh, we’re nearly out of this.” and “Why don’t you get it? It looks perfect on you!” when you tried on a dress. And once again, John acted like he’d never left your side. So it became routine, if John wasn’t there then one of his colleagues was. Simon, Kyle, Johnny, Keegan, Nikolai, Alex and even Farah and Kate on occasion. It just became part of your life and as you were getting used to it, it took another turn.
You’d felt pent up all day. Restless and full of energy that not even deep cleaning the kitchen helped with it so you had baked. And baked and baked. You had several trays of brownies and blondies and no intention of eating them all. So you packed them up and headed to base knowing full well that John would have several and the rest would be gone in minutes. Except you still felt restless.
~~~~~
You found John swamped with paperwork in his office with both of his sergeants. They all looked like they could do with a break and you had plans for John.
“Hey boys, I made some baked treats if you want to go hand them out?” Taking the cue you’d given them Gaz and Soap gave their thanks with kisses to your cheeks and rushing out with brownies in their mouths while John looked on with a fond smile.
“Love, why don’t you take a break? Have a sweet treat?” winking at him, you set a small tub of blondies off to the side while climbing onto his desk before reaching forward for a slow, wet kiss.
He let you have your fill for several minutes, kissing your way down his neck while pulling at his uniform shirt in an attempt to get it off. It was with a groan that he pulled away from you and captured your wandering hands,
“Hang on Love, I gotta get these forms done before three.” It was all he could do to not melt at your pout. He stood up and moved back when you reached forward again,
“Go lie on the couch Love. Skirt up, panties off. I just gotta get something.” He was out the door before you could reply, moving hastily he slammed the door behind him.
You and John had a relationship that was full of pre-discussed rules and boundaries. You knew what he expected of you when he gave an order and what would happen if you didn’t comply. The couch in his office had bourn witness to quite a few of the order he’d given you and this one was a familiar one. It was routine. It had been discussed, practiced, perfected. So as you lay down, cunt bared to the world, the last thing you expected was for Simon to walk through the door and John in behind him.
Scrambling to cover yourself you froze at the harsh bark from John,
“Doll. Is that what you were instructed?” He raised an eyebrow at you and watched as you shook your head and returned to your previous position. He made his way back to his desk while Simon position himself between your legs,
“You treat my people well Doll. You treat them almost as good as you do me, it’s time they returned the favour. My people, my people who follow my orders, who do my bidding. My people, who treat my wife for me, under my orders. My people, my orders, my hands.” There an odd look on his face, one you don’t recognise.
As your eyes never leave his, you stare as he settles back behind his desk. He picks up a pen and a blondie and starts to fill in the forms he’d been interrupted from. So caught up in what John was doing, you missed what Simon was doing. His hands had worked their way around your thighs and settled on your hips. The hips he had pulled towards himself and now had his head between. You could feel his warm breaths on your lips but even they could never have prepared you for his tongue. In one action his tongue had licked its way from your asshole, up the length of your cunt and around your clit before making its way between your folds and feasted like a starved lion.
“Si- Simon! W-Wh-“ Your mouth couldn’t vocalise what you were thinking as you tried to question him but it wasn’t Simon who answered,
“That’s not the name you scream Doll. After all it’s not Simon’s mouth who’s on you is it?” He wasn’t even looking at you, too distracted by those damn forms, “My people, my mouth, my hands Doll. Me. It’ll only ever be me that touches you.” His tongue darted out to lick up the remnants of blondie around his mouth at the same time as Simon swirled his around your clit again.
“John! Captain!” Were the only words that left your mouth from then on. As Simon licked, sucked and even softly bit your pussy, barely stopping for breath as he did. Going and going until you’d cum twice all over his face, until he was so drenched in your wetness that it would be all he smelled for the rest of the day. Until your taste had engrained itself on his tongue. He had done everything just the way you liked, exactly as John would have done right down to the nibbles on your clit as you came. It was like he’d been given a manual and had driven you perfectly and then gone again just to make sure.
Simon even took care of you after in the same manner as John would. Cleaned you up with gentle wipes, and made sure you recovered by drinking water and even fed you a brownie. Mumbling in your ear the whole time,
“Good Doll, such a pretty Doll, did so well for me Doll. Your Captains proud.”
He helped you sort yourself out and gave you a small kiss, chaste in comparison to what had just happened. He walked you back to your car, John not saying another word while you were in the office but Simon, Simon talked the whole walk. About the baked goods, about the options for dinner that night, upcoming events you and John were invited too, he was all clued up on your life.
~~~~~
The journey home left no time to contemplate what had happened. The demanding country roads needing all your attention no matter how many times you had driven them and by the time you were home John had text you,
Your lasagne for dinner sounds good Love. Be home by 6 xx
Simon had obviously told him what the two of you talked about. But with dinner to cook it left you very little time to think about the afternoon you’d had. By the time the door was opening you had just plated dinner and were in the middle of pulling the garlic bread out the oven. John made his way to you and without saying anything finished the kiss you had started that afternoon that now felt like a lifetime ago.
“That was a wonderful visit this afternoon Love and I fully plan to indulge in your cunt again after dinner,” He interrupts his sentence to kiss you again, giving you a preview of what he plans to do to your other set of lips, “So you go freshen up and I’ll get the rest of dinner out. And don’t bother with panties, I’ll just steal them again.” He moves and holds up his hand, dangling from his fingers is your underwear from this afternoon. You can feel the heat in your cheeks as you scurry upstairs to the bathroom to splash water on your face.
Dinner continues as usual, conversation about your lives and gossip about friends and co-workers. The only sign of what happened being when John says something about a topic you know you’ve only mention to Simon. Yet John talks about it as if you’d directly said it to him. But John never brings it up so you forget about it, write it off as a one-time fantasy or a reward for Simon and a way to take care of you in a time where John just couldn’t. Life goes on.
~~~~~
Well life did go on. And John was away for a month on a mission. Making your usual preparations such as making sure all his uniforms and gear were washed, double checking he’d packed everything and the little things you did to make him comfortable while away, you’d gotten to the last item on your list; cancel your date night reservations. You always made them in advance at John’s request so he could treat them like meetings for work and make sure he was available for as many as possible. Of course last minute changes happened but when it came to long call outs for missions you always cancelled your plans. Usually.
“Don’t cancel that one Love, or that one.” He mumbled into your shoulder where he’d plastered himself for the last hour or so against your back, leaving marks deep and dark enough that hopefully they’d last the month.
“John, you won’t be here and I’m not going out to dinner by myself.” You roll your eyes, thinking he was trying to get you to treat yourself while he was gone,
“I’m telling you not to cancel them. And you won’t be going by yourself, I’ll work it out.” He told you, moving so that he was in front of you and waiting for your reaction. Except you couldn’t react, not when he covered your mouth with his, the second you opened it to reply.
~~~~~
Thoroughly distracted by John and his talents in the bedroom you never did get to ask him about the date night plans before he had to leave and all too soon date night arrived. It was the first one since he’d been gone and one of the ones he’d said not to cancel. The original plans were dinner and mini golf but you had fully expected to be watching romcoms on the couch with a takeaway John had ordered in advance for you. Something he had surprised you with in the past. So when your door opened and a voice called out to you, you jumped.
“Doll, you ready? I know you don’t want to be late to dinner.” Grabbing the hockey stick John leaves by the stairs for you when you’re home alone, you carefully make your way towards the door, “Doll? You here? Did you forget we had date night? Cause that’s not like you.” You could see the man now, it was Nikolai.
“There you are, you ready?” he holds his hand out towards you and reaches for yours. He takes hold of your hand and pulls you towards the door, you’re halfway there before you react,
“Nikolai? What the fuck?” pulling against him you try to stop his advances towards the door.
“Now, you know that’s not what you call me Doll,” He levels you with a look that’s straight from John, the one he uses when you’ve disobeyed an order, “Come on, we’re going to be late.” He manages to pull you out the door and push you into his car. Opening the door and buckling your seat belt, exactly like John does, with a quick kiss to your lips.
He takes you to your dinner reservations, you have the conversations you would have with John but every time you call him Nikolai he stops and gives you that look again. After dinner was mini golf. John’s choice for date night this time because you suck at mini golf and it means he would have gotten to hold you. Hold you just the way Nikolai does every time you get frustrated during the game, his arms caging you in while he murmurs instructions and praise in your ear as his hands guide yours into making shots. And then you’re home. You’re home and all the tension that had been built was gone. The car ride quiet with just the radio on, conversation exhausted over dinner. You’d expected to be dropped off at the door, like Simon had done all that time ago.
Nikolai walked you to the door which is when you realised you didn’t have your keys. He’d pulled you out the door before you could grab your things but the door was open. Nikolai had a key. Nikolai was picking you up over his shoulder and carrying you in. Nikolai was saying something?
“You really pushed it Doll. Eight times during dinner you called me the wrong name and then another five while we were at golf. Thirteen rule breaks, I think that means thirteen spanks. But seeing as this isn’t your first offense I think we’ll round up. Twenty should do, make sure it sinks in.” His voice was light but there was a sense of finality to it, no room for negotiating, as he makes his way up the stairs to you and Johns bedroom.
“You know the procedure. Strip, over my knee.” He says setting you down on your feet in front of the mirror, like John does because he says he wants you to see how beautiful you look while following his orders.
Nikolai settles on the chair, John’s chair, that’s always used when John wants to spank you with his hand. And that’s when it all clicks in your head. John. John’s people. John’s orders. John’s hands. John. John. John wasn’t here. But Nikolai was. But it was John’s orders. It’s John’s instructions. It’s exactly how John would do it.
“Lost Doll?” Nikolai’s voice jolts you back to current events, no. John’s voice. This was John.
“No Captain. Just realising.” You smile, brightly, softly, lovingly. Your husband was here. John was here.
After Hendery spun the bottle, it landed on Yangyang.
You felt a bit surprised but relieved that it didn't point to a certain someone. Plus, you kinda know Yangyang so this wouldn’t be too awkward for you.
"Looks like you're staying with me tonight!"
"Yeah, sounds good. I'm pretty tired anyway, let's head up now."
He agreed and took your hand, leading you upstairs to his room.
Meanwhile, Hendery was still processing what happened. He felt a bit upset because he wanted the bottle to land on him. Others understood his feelings but moved on eventually. Everyone went to their rooms to sleep for the night.
♡♡♡♡♡♡
You have arrived at Yangyang's room.
It was nice and simple with a lot of grey undertones. His bed was facing the TV and was accompanied by his gaming setup.
"Hey, you can take the bed, and I'll crash on the floor or something–"
"No, it's okay. I'd feel bad making you sleep on the floor. Come here."
You gently pulled him towards the bed, feeling surprisingly at ease together.
"Your gaming setup looks pretty cool. So, you game a lot I assume?"
"Yeah, I do! I usually play with Winwin or Hendery. Lately, we've been hooked on Apex."
Seeing him talking about something he is passionate about, made him have this sparkle in his eye. You were so focused on what he was saying, you started to notice how attractive he was.
"I've never really played it before. I'm usually swamped with schoolwork."
"Wait, we could play now! I'll teach you."
Agreeing nervously, you watched as Yangyang set up the game. With a controller in hand, he guided you through the basics, his excitement contagious. Soon, you were immersed in the game together.
Laughter filled the room as you navigated the game alongside him. Gradually, you found yourself enjoying his company, feeling a growing connection. As the night wore on, you sensed a subtle shift in the air, the space between you started to heat up with tension. Sitting closely against the bedframe, your thighs would occasionally brush with each other, which was distracting you from the game.
"Hey, are you alright? You're playing slower than usual."
"I'm fine, just not used to this controller."
Yangyang paused the game, intertwining his arms with yours, hands still on the controller as if to offer comfort and support.
"You see, this is how you do it–"
Yangyang's hands covered yours, skillfully maneuvering the controller to control your character. It was as if he was playing the game for you. You couldn't help but feel a mix of embarrassment and heightened nervousness at his intimate gesture.
As you and Yangyang continued playing the game, the close proximity between you felt both exciting and nerve-wracking. His subtle breath on your neck sent shivers down your spine, a sensation you hadn't experienced before. It was hard to concentrate, and Yangyang noticed.
"Do I make you nervous? You've been squirming since we started playing again. We can stop if–"
"No, don't stop," you interrupted, feeling emboldened by the moment.
Leaning back into him, you gave him a seductive look, feeling a rush of adrenaline at the intimate exchange.
Throughout the night, Yangyang couldn't keep his eyes off of you, feeling a growing desire. He couldn't resist any longer. Slowly, he began to kiss the back of your neck, which sent tingles throughout your body. His hands found their way to your waist, his whispers in your ear
“You should keep on playing the game sweetheart. If you win, I’ll do whatever you want...”
Shivers crawled down your spine as he said that to you. But, who are you to deny such an offer? You nodded your head and he leaned back onto the bedframe and your backside was facing against him. You felt at ease and started to play the game again.
But Yangyang had other plans.
As you focused on the game, his teasing escalated. His hands roamed under your shirt, causing you to squirm and struggle to concentrate.
"Please stop, I can't focus–" you pleaded, feeling overwhelmed.
But Yangyang's actions only intensified, his playful bites on your neck were sending waves of pleasure all over your body.
"I never said this was going to be easy," he smirked against your skin, his touch was driving you to the brink of ecstasy.
Determined to win, you bit your lip, trying to block out the sensations and focus. This will all be over once you beat the game.
Feeling Yangyang's hand inching lower, your breath caught in your throat as anticipation mingled with excitement. His touch through your clothed pussy sent a jolt of pleasure surging through you, and you couldn't suppress the moan that escaped your lips.
"Seems like you don't want me to stop either," he whispered huskily, his voice dripping with lust as he felt the dampness soaking through your panties.
His words only fueled the desire raging within you, and you didn’t want him to stop at all.
His words alone were making you feel more aroused for him and you don’t know how long you could take it anymore.
He pulled your panties to the side and shoved his middle finger into your wetness. You let out a moan that was quickly covered up with one of his hands.
“Shh, you don’t want the others to find out what we are doing do you?”
You shook your head no and weren’t even focused on the game anymore. You were too immersed in all the things Yangyang was doing to you. Each thrust was pushing you closer to the edge. As waves of pleasure crashed over you, your moans became so out of control that you couldn't contain them anymore. But luckily Yangyang's hand muffled all the sinful noises you were making. Your body felt limp as you surrendered to the overwhelming sensations, losing control over yourself. Tears started to dwell down your face from all the stimulation you were feeling.
When Yangyang's thumb found its way to your clit, a primal scream tore from your throat, your body shuddering with pleasure.
He finds this all amusing and starts laughing at you.
“God, you can’t be this desperate for me, right? You’re not even playing the game for me anymore-”
He feels you squeeze and clench around his finger.
“Mhmm, you’re getting close sweetie? Then cum for me.”
He started shoving his fingers into you at a faster pace than ever before. And just when you were on the brink of climax, he stopped and pulled out his fingers immediately. You felt a sense of discomfort from being unsatisfied by his actions.
“Hey, why did you do that?”
His smirk only widened as he pointed to the TV, explaining his motive with a mischievous look in his eyes.
“It’s because you didn’t win love. I told you I will give you anything you want if you win.”
“Are you serious? It’s not even fair you, kept on distracting me.”
“Oh I know, and I don’t plan on making any of this easy for you. But I'll give you one more chance since I'm feeling generous tonight."
“YES! Now what’s the catch this time?”
He grabs the controller and switches the game to a simple racing game.
“Now, this should be easier for you to play and I will just be down here-”
He switches positions now between your legs while you lean against the bedframe.
You rolled your eyes out of annoyance. This is just going to be harder than before. But you were determined to win, fed up with his teasing. You agreed and focused on the game.
He started slow by kissing all over your thighs and squeezing them firmly with his hands. You stayed focused, he was not distracting you this time. He admired your determination but knew he could break you soon. His kisses turned into bites, making you tense. He let out a little smirk and continued marking up your thighs.
You were more focused on the game than before. You knew for a fact he was going to do everything in his power to make you fall for him. But, you are standing your ground and not making any moves. He couldn’t wait any longer and started to lick up your drenched pussy. He put your legs over his shoulders and started to devour you like he was hungry.
You bite your lip hard and start to lose focus. You were almost done with the game and just needed to hold out a little longer. He didn’t care anymore and shoved your core into his face. He started lapping up all of your juices and even started sucking on your clit.
You finished the game just in time and ended up in first place and you can fully let yourself go for him. You threw your head back in pleasure and started moaning even louder than before. You didn’t care if the whole house could hear you at this point, you just wanted Yangyang to keep going.
You pulled onto his hair and pushed him hard against you. You feel him start to whimper into you. The vibrations of all of the sounds he was making made you start to wince around him. You squeeze your thighs around his head and he starts to gasp for air.
“Fuck baby, this is not enough for me come here-”
He lays down on his back and places you on top of him. He made you face away from him.
“Back that ass into me sweetie.”
You were taken aback as he grabbed your waist and pushed your pussy onto his face, causing you to let out a moan. No one had ever made you feel this aroused before, and he was practically driving you wild. He practically making you see stars. You grind your core onto his face and he was loving every second of this.
As you were going at it, you started to notice that his cock was right in front of you. With a sinful idea in mind, you pulled down his shorts and boxers, stroking him with your hand. He moaned in pleasure, too focused on you to fully comprehend your actions. He couldn’t help but grind up into your hand. Pumping him faster, you reveled in his needy desire.
"You enjoy this, don't you?" you teased, slowing your pace as he begged for more.
“Mhm f-fuck yes, don’t stop-”
You started to slow down your pace and let out a playful laugh.
“I don’t know if you earned it yet. You teased me so much tonight and -”
“P-please, I won’t tease you anymore..”
You looked back at him and gave him a smirk.
“You promise?”
He nodded his head you decided enough was enough. You took him into your mouth, and he threw his head back. He had already forgotten that he had a job to do too.
“Hey this don’t get too comfortable, you better get back to-”
You didn’t have to tell him twice. He went back to devouring your pussy and with more vigor than before. You let out a loud moan and decided to suppress all your noises by shoving your throat down his cock. You began to bob your head up and down wasn’t planning on stopping anytime soon. You were both overwhelmed by each other. Just a moment ago you were playing a spin-the-bottle game and now his face is deep into your pussy.
Who would’ve known this all happening because of Hendery's little dare?
Yangyang couldn't resist thrusting into your mouth, causing you to gag. Tears streamed down your face as you wondered if you could take this anymore.
The both of you were reaching your breaking point.
You felt his cock start to twitch in your mouth, and you clenched around his tongue in response. With increasing urgency, you both intensified your pace, driving each other to climax simultaneously, not wasting a single drop. You got off of him and almost fell back but he grabbed you in time.
“Oh baby, we're not done just yet.”
You gave him a confused look and he grabbed you and pushed you down into the mattress on your back. He pinned your hands over and proceeded to take off the rest of his and your clothes.
"You're so beautiful. I've always wanted to do this," he confessed, his words a mix of desperation and lust, unsettling you slightly.
"Every day in class, I'd stare at you, wanting to be closer," he admitted, his voice tinged with longing. "But Ten or Hendery would always get in the way..."
He slowly brought your legs up his shoulders and positioned himself into you.
“But now… I have you all to myself.”
You started to feel a little intimidated by him. He seemed so possessive all of a sudden. Before you could even say anything, he slips his cock into your pussy, eliciting a loud moan from you as pleasure surged through your body. Your eyes started to roll in the back of your head.
He began to pound into you with rough, deep strokes, his pace relentless and unforgiving. It was as if he was consumed by an insatiable hunger for you, a side of him you had never seen before.
“F-fuck Yangyang s-slow down-“
“No, I can’t anymore. I’ve wanted this for too long, princess. Besides just a moment ago you were practically begging me to fuck you.”
His words were starting to get to you. You did ask for this but you didn’t expect him to be so feral for you. Apart of you didn’t mind it though. You almost like the feeling of being wanted and almost felt selfish for it. It’s been a while since someone wanted to be inside of you this bad.
So you gave in and started to make out with him. You wrapped your arms around his neck and brought him closer to you.  He gripped on the headboard with one of his hands and started fucking deeper into you. His strokes started to become more sharp and precise.
“F-fuck p-please keep going… right there-“
“Ah you’re liking this a lot more now huh sweetheart? You look so pretty for me.”
He caressed your cheek gently before deciding to change things up. Flipping you onto your stomach, he positioned you with your ass in the air and pushed your head into the pillow.
"Now, I'm not holding back anymore. I want you to be loud for me so everyone in this house can hear you, sweetheart," he whispered in your ear, delivering a loud smack to your ass that elicited a whimper from you.
“Especially Hendery and Ten.”
Your eyes widened as you realized Yangyang had planned this all along. He had been jealous since you kissed Ten in front of everyone
Little did you know, he and Winwin were in on it the whole time.
 When he was whispering to Winwin when you kissed Ten, he was telling him that he wanted to find a way to separate you and Ten. Yangyang thought if he could somehow convince Hendery to come up with such a dare, there was a chance he could have you to himself tonight. That's why he didn't object when Hendery first proposed the dare.
Yangyang was jealous.
You looked back at Yangyang with such anger "You wanted this to happen, didn't you? How long have you been planning this?"
“Since we first met in math class. I always saw you and Hendery going against each other and how close you were with Ten-“
He pulled you up by your hair and brought you closer to his face.
“Now here you are all alone with me. Begging for me to fuck you. Isn't it crazy how things have turned out?"
“Oh you’re literally insane you know that?”
He pushes you back onto the bed and slips himself back into you.
“And you love that about me don’t you princess?”
With each powerful thrust, you moaned his name, torn between fear and lust. Despite your conflicting emotions, you couldn't deny how good he was making you feel. You felt like you were losing yourself to him and you didn’t want to let go of that feeling.
You were enjoying this and so was he.
He slowed his pace slightly, still inside you, and reached for his phone. He started to record you.
"Now, baby, look into the camera and tell me who makes you feel this good," he demanded.
"You... you do," you managed to gasp out.
He gave a harsh slap on your ass again and you let out a loud moan.
He delivered another harsh slap to your ass, eliciting a loud moan from you. "What was that, sweetie? I didn't quite catch that," he teased
"YOU DO!" you exclaimed, feeling the pleasure intensify as he pounded you deeper into the mattress.
"That's right, pretty girl. Only I can make you feel this good," he affirmed before stopping the recording and tossing his phone aside.
"Now that I've got what I wanted tonight, I think it's time to wrap this up, don't you think?" he suggested, his actions leaving you too overwhelmed to respond with words. All you could do was nod your head. You were too preoccupied to be able to let out any words at the moment. He was bringing you so much pleasure that all you could do was scream and moan in ecstasy.
He grabbed your waist with both of his hands and started to fuck you into the mattress. He gripped your waist so tight that it was starting to become a little painful to bear. You both eventually climax at the same time and he was riding out all of your orgasms. He wouldn’t stop until you were fully satisfied.
He fell back into the bed and brought you to his chest. You were both panting for air, trying to catch your breath. It felt a little awkward afterward and you both didn’t know what to say to each other.
“Hey look I’m sorry for the way I acted tonight. It’s just I’ve liked you for a very long time now and I just got carried away. I can’t help myself when it comes to you-“
You kissed him on his cheek.
“It's fine, Yangyang. You just caught me off guard is all. I just didn’t know you were this crazy for me-“
"Hey, I'm not that crazy for you," he joked, attempting to lighten the mood after everything that happened between the two of you.
“Oh come on. You kept on going on and on about how much you wanted me and was being really possessive. I think that’s what you call crazy.” you teased, noting his surprised expression as he realized your point.
"Look, I'm sorry again, and we can forget about this happening, and I'll even delete the video–" he started, but you interrupted him by grabbing his wrist.
"Oh, but I don't want to forget what happened tonight. It was just getting fun, don't you think?" you said playfully, causing him to feel drawn to you once more.
"You don't have to delete the video if you don't want to. I know you want to show all the other guys what went on with me and you tonight," you added, observing his surprised reaction.
"Especially Hendery and Ten, right?"
Mkay, so hear me out. I wanted to ask if you could write about gyutaro and the reader being in a fantasy universe that's similar to final fantasy or the legend of zelda, but Gyutaro is part dragon and maybe even the guardian of like a temple or something along those lines. Be creative with it, I know whatever you come up with will be great :> You can make it NSFW or more fluffy, all up to you!
Either way, I hope you have a great day ^^
꒦꒷‧₊ Summary You are a Princess of a crumbling kingdom. Desperate for help, you set out to free an ancient dragon in hopes that he will be able to restore order to the land. But you were naive to think he would be so gracious. Things take a turn for the worse and you have no choice but to rely on each other.
꒦꒷‧₊ Content Dragon!Gyutaro x Female!Reader, violence, gore, death
꒦꒷‧₊ Note 3k words. A lot of the lore for this story is based off of Elden Ring. I know you asked for other games but I'm not familiar with them so I hope this is ok. I absolutely adore Elden Ring so this was very fun to write. I'm sorry that I ended up making this way more complex than it needed to be but I couldn't help it! I was having too much fun coming up with lore for this universe. I have so many ideas for this so if you'd like me to continue this story then please let me know!
Finally after days of searching through the Swamp of Aeonia, narrowly avoiding the toxic scarlet rot that infects these lands, you found the ruins only spoken of in ancient legends.
It is said that deep within the heart of Caelid there is a place where Gyutaro, the son of the Lichdragon Fortissax, has been imprisoned for the last 100 years.
Legend says that he was forsaken for being the most hideous creature in all the land. While his twin sister was worshiped for her beauty. He was born corrupted by the scarlet rot, consuming him from the inside out. And Gyutaro was known for his jealousy. He would destroy and devour things that were beautiful or more fortunate than himself. He brought great suffering to The Lands Between, so a knight was sent to imprison him.
You don't know for certain if the legends are true, but you sure hope they are. Growing up you've always been incredibly fascinated by dragons and the tales your mother would tell you. But since you are a princess you were never allowed around such ferocious beasts. But now you have no choice.
Your kingdom is crumbling and your mother has fallen ill. As the war across The Lands Between rages on, your soldiers dwindle. You feel helpless as more and more of your soldiers die. More innocent lives.
But you remembered the tales your mother would tell you and it gave you a glimmer of hope. It is told that the Lichdragon Fortissax was defeated in battle by Godwyn the Golden. But instead of death, Godwyn offered his friendship to the Lichdragon. Fortissax was loyal to Godwyn ever since, protecting him even after they both succumbed to corruption.
You thought that perhaps the rumored son of Fortissax would be just as loyal as his father. If you were to free him from his imprisonment then perhaps he would return the favor by protecting your kingdom.
It's a long shot but it may be the only shot you have.
You cautiously descend into the ruins of what appears to be a dungeon, slowly decayed by the scarlet rot. You're careful not to touch anything as you make your way down a long staircase.
At the bottom of the staircase lies a corridor. A deep rumble can be heard as you walk through, your footsteps echoing through the passageway. As you get closer to the end of the hall the rumbling gets louder and louder.
Finally, you make it to the end, welcomed by a giant chamber. And there he is.
Gyutaro, the son of the Lichdragon.
As soon as you lay your eyes upon him you are stricken with a combination of fear and amazement. His beauty takes your breath away.
His large form lays sleeping in the middle of the room. But as soon as you step foot into the chamber he begins to stir. His eyes shoot open, slit pupils surrounded by glowing yellow stare wildly at you. With a deep growl, he rises to his feet, towering at least 20 feet over you.
His body is covered with black scales, accented with green. Though his beautiful scales are interrupted by dark splotches scattered across his face and body, these scales don't shimmer like the others do. They appear dull and corrupt in some way. Razor sharp claws adorn his paws and two large horns sit atop his head.
Though his body looks different than you had imagined. He is very muscular but his stomach is hollowed out and you can clearly see his ribs and spine. You imagine he doesn't get much to eat here, so perhaps that would explain his emaciated stature.
He spreads his massive wings, blocking the light from the torches behind him. And his long tail sways behind him as he glares down at you. And that's when you hear it. A deep rumble coming from within his chest as he begins to open his jaws, revealing a bright red light glowing from within him. He's about to envelop you in flames.
"G-Gyutaro!" You immediately get on your knees and bow before him, "Son of Fortissax! I have come to free you!"
The rumbling stops, and you feel the ground shake as he begins to circle you. Too afraid to look up, you stay staring at the cobblestone. Hoping that he spares you and gives you a chance to explain yourself.
He leans closer to you, inhaling your scent. "Human... you are of royal blood," he rasps. The sound of his voice sending shivers down your spine.
"Y-yes," you stammer, "I am Princess Y/N."
"Princess?" he smirks, "What is a princess doing in the Swamp of Aeonia?"
"I came searching for you," you finally muster the courage to look up. Staring into his golden eyes. "The Lands Between suffer greatly these days. W-we need the ancient dragon to return balance to the land," your voice shakes as you muster a half-truth. It is true that the world hasn't been graced by an ancient dragon in many years and their presence could help restore the world to order. But you also seek his aid in restoring your kingdom.
"You are quite bold for a human," he scoffs, "Attempt if you must. But these are no ordinary binds."
He lifts his legs, jingling the chain that wraps tightly around his ankle. You were too enamored by his magnificence to notice them before.
You shakily get up onto your feet to examine the chains. A glowing blue tint shines off of the thick metal. These chains must be enchanted somehow. For if they were ordinary he would easily be able to break free. But you came prepared.
Gyutaro doesn't know how to break the spell that binds him to this place, but you do. As a princess, you have access to all of the records and literature you could ever want. You know what will free him.
A kiss from a beautiful maiden of royalty.
The knight that imprisoned him, an ancestor of Lord Tengen, was smart when he enchanted these chains. He thought of something that could never possibly happen, something that Gyutaro would surely never allow even if someone had tried. Especially since when Gyutaro was free he set out to destroy all beauty.
You clear your throat, "I know what will set you free. But you need to trust me."
Gyutaro narrows his eyes at you. What could possibly be your angle here? Are things really that bad that you came to free him? You do know his history, do you not? He is no peaceful creature, always leaving violence and death in his wake.
He doesn't understand what your motives are, but he isn't afraid of a mere human. He figures that if you try anything funny then he can just devour you. But, he's been imprisoned here for so long that he's willing to hear you out.
You slowly reach up towards his face. He doesn't know why he feels so drawn to you, but he lowers his head and you gently place your hands on his cheeks.
"You will be free," you whisper as you look into his eyes.
You lean forward and kiss him. Pressing your soft lips to his scaly ones. He feels something warm blossom within him as he closes his eyes.
The chains slowly disintegrate into dust, effectively ending his 100-year imprisonment.
His eyes widen in surprise, "I-I'm free..."
Your heart beat quickens as you slowly step away from him. Fear overtakes you as you stand before this mighty dragon, now completely free. Will he return the favor to you? Or will he devour you now that he's gotten what he needed from you?
His lips curl into a smirk as he puffs out his chest and lets out a mighty roar. So loud that it shakes the entire dungeon, echoing throughout the infected lands of Caelid and possibly beyond.
The walls of the dungeon begin to crumble as debris falls from the ceiling. This place is on the verge of collapsing.
Quickly, Gyutaro scoops you up in his arms. Holding you against his chest as he lunges upwards, bursting through the ceiling of the ruins.
He flies into the sky, marveling at the rot-ridden swamp below him. The sun hitting his scales for the first time in 100 years, he's filled with vigor.
You hold on for dear life, though he has a firm grip on you. Gyutaro flies above Caelid, triumphantly roaring to alert everyone that he is back. You aren't sure if his return will cause hope or fear amongst the people of The Lands Between.
He flies east, a safe distance away from the scarlet rot, and into a nearby forest. Carefully landing, he gently sets you down on the ground.
"Princess..." he lowers his head, "You freed me from that accursed prison. Thank you..."
You feel a surge of relief and power course through you as this all-powerful creature bows before you. Reaching out to him, you gently lay your hand on his snout. "You're welcome. I'm glad to have helped."
He quickly recoils from your touch, feeling an unfamiliar emotion stir within him. His brows furrow in discomfort. This feeling doesn't sit right in his stomach, and he doesn't enjoy it.
With a sour taste in his mouth, he launches back into the sky. Leaving you behind.
"W-wait!" you shout, trying to run after him but there's no point. He's already long gone.
Gyutaro couldn't take it any longer. The attraction towards you that blossomed within him was too foreign to him. Though after being imprisoned for the last 100 years it was nice to have some company. Especially that of a beautiful princess. But he pushes those thoughts aside and focuses on more important things. Like reuniting with his sister.
You have no choice but to go back to your kingdom alone and empty-handed.
。o°✥✤✣    ✣✤✥°o。
Weeks pass and things only get worse. The war wages on and your mother's health worsens. You don't see or hear from Gyutaro. You only hear about the occasional sighting of a massive dragon or about a beast wreaking havoc on small villages.
That is until one day you hear a commotion outside your castle.
Gyutaro lands on the bridge before your castle, digging his massive talons into the cobblestone. Then a loud rumble stirs within him, he opens his jaws to spew crimson red flames across the other side of the bridge. Blocking the path of anyone that intends to visit the castle. Engulfing it in flames that spread the scarlet rot that harbors within him.
The castle guards rush out towards him, readying their crossbows and shooting arrows at his back. They bounce off of his tough scales, but one of them pierces his wing.
"Pathetic humans," he growls. Turning around and letting out a powerful roar that shakes the bridge beneath him. Gyutaro bares his fangs and lunges forward, catching one of the soldiers in his mouth. He closes his jaws, impaling the soldier with his many teeth before swallowing him whole.
Gyutaro lets out another roar, a clear warning to anyone who dares to attack him again.
"Cease fire!" You shout, running out of the castle and towards Gyutaro. The guards try to warn you that it's dangerous and you should stay inside, but you don't listen.
"Princess!" his eyes widen when he sees you, wasting no time and coming towards you.
Your guards point their crossbows at him as he approaches but you hold your hand out to signal that it's ok.
"Gyutaro, what are you doing here?" you say in shock.
"Your castle will come under attack shortly," he looks behind him briefly before turning back to face you, "My flames should hold them off for a while but it's not safe here."
"Wait what? What do you mean?" you begin to panic.
"There's no time to explain!" he growls, "I'm getting you out of here."
"No! I can't leave my mother behind! And what about everyone else?" your eyes begin to well up with tears.
"Fine," he huffs, "I'll carry you and your mother to safety. I couldn't care less about everyone else..."
"I refuse," you say sternly, "We will not leave our kingdom behind."
"Insolent human!" he roars, "I'm not giving you a choice!!"
Gyutaro opens his maw and swoops forward, catching your coat in his mouth before you can run away.
"Let me go! Let me go!" you kick and scream.
He doesn't know why he even bothered coming to help you. The old Gyutaro would never do something like that. But ever since you saved him he's been longing for your touch again. Longing to be in the presence of someone who didn't see him as a hideous beast. And perhaps he craved more of your affection.
Whatever the case, he needs to get you and your mother out of here as soon as possible. Even though he honestly doesn't care about your mother's well-being, he charges through the entrance of the castle anyway. Guards shoot at him as he passes, but the arrows aren't strong enough to penetrate his scales.
The large castle doors are just big enough to fit him if he collapses his wings to his back. While still holding you in his mouth, he bursts through the castle doors and into the foyer.
It's ginormous and filled with elaborate decorations and luxury furnishings. Your mother sits frail and weak on the throne.
"What is the meaning of this?" she calls out in a strong voice despite her sickly appearance.
Gyutaro's eyes go wide and he stops dead in his tracks, gently setting you down on the lavish rug beneath his feet.
You huff and straighten your coat as he releases you from his grasp. Giving him a stern look before moving your attention to the queen.
"Mother, the kingdom is-"
"I know," she cuts you off and stands from her seat, walking towards you and Gyutaro.
"I've known they would come for our kingdom," she passes you and walks straight towards Gyutaro.
He feels his blood run cold, and a strange sense of tranquility wash over him as she approaches. He lowers his head to show respect and that he isn't a threat.
Your mother stands in front of him, looking into his eyes.
"Gyutaro, son of the Lichdragon Fortissax," her voice is soft yet commanding as she places a hand on Gyutaro's head, "You will be my daughter's guardian. Protect her at all costs."
His eyes widen as he feels something change within him. He doesn't understand what's going on, but he suddenly feels as light as air. A strange golden mist forms around him, enveloping him.
You stare wide eyed and in complete shock. Your mother wouldn't hurt him would she? What in the hells did she do to him?
His body seems to shrink and become completely concealed within the mist.
It seems like forever but it's only after a few seconds that the mist begins to disappear. Revealing... a man?
He's hunched over on his hands and knees, breathing deeply as he feels his human lungs inflate for the first time. A familiar tail sways behind him, and a set of horns sits atop his head.
"G-Gyutaro...?" you whisper, slowly coming closer to him.
His body trembles as he tries to stand. You reach out to him hesitantly but are interrupted by a loud rumbling sound as the ground beneath you quakes.
"You must leave at once!" Your mother yells to you.
"I'm not leaving! I won't leave you behind!" you cry, tears flowing down your cheeks.
The front walls of the castle begin to crumble.
"I'm sorry my dear," your mother says in a somber tone, "I love you."
She raises her hand, then slowly lowers it. You can feel your eyes closing with the motion of her hand as she casts a spell on you.
All you can do is whimper, "I love you too," as you drift off to sleep.
。o°✥✤✣    ✣✤✥°o。
You wake up to the sound of heavy footsteps and someone cursing.
"Fuck this! Aaaaaahhhgg!!"
Slowly opening your eyes you see Gyutaro in what appears to be a humanoid form, thrashing about in a fit of rage.
"How dare I be reduced to the form of a mere human!!" he roars up into the sky. Birds flying out of the trees that surround you. "I am an ancient dragon!! I will not attune to this form!!"
He stomps around angrily before your soft whimpers catch his attention. His scowling visage faces you. And all of the anger of this ancient beast fades away when he sees your huddled form. Crying in agony.
"Princess?" his features soften as he approaches you. He kneels beside you and puts a hand on your shoulder.
"She's gone," you sob, "I'll never see her again."
Gyutaro feels yet another foreign emotion swell up within him. Could it be sympathy? He remembers when his father died and how hard it was for him. His heart aches as he recalls similar emotions to what you're feeling now.
He's not good with words, let alone emotions. So he just leans forward and wraps his arms around you. Wrapping you in his warm embrace.
You cling to him and sob into his chest.
"I know Princess... I know," he consoles, "Your mother entrusted me to protect you. And I'm going to do just that."
Knowing that you'll have him by your side gives you a glimmer of hope for the future. Though you both don't know what to do or where to go.
Gyutaro is determined to find his sister who he hasn't seen in 100 years. But first, he needs to find a way to transform back into a mighty dragon. He can't stand this pathetic form he's currently in. And you need to find a way to stop the war that rages across The Lands Between. And possibly recover whatever is left of your kingdom.
Neither of you knows what's to come. But at least you have each other.
warnings: talks about moving, reader having a younger brother, perhaps misrepresentation of sibling relationships?? don't blame me i'm an only child 😔
happy birthday to my pookie n happy new year to everyone!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Logan have known each other for what seems to be an ice age.
It all started when your family had announced a few pieces of bombshell information. 1) Your family would be welcoming a younger sibling to the world, and 2) in lieu of your younger sibling's arrival, you would be moving out of your quaint little apartment which was at the boundaries of town to a 2 story home which was in the suburbs of the city.
Of course, everything new in your life was a bound to be something to get adjusted to. You're, of course, excited to meet your new baby sibling, but you don't want to leave the only home you've ever known. However, your parents reassure you that you're moving to a nice, family neighbourhood with plenty of kids which are your age. That manages to reduce your apprehension, but only slightly.
When you finally arrive to the newly renovated house, you meet your neighbours. There's Mr and Mrs Sargeant, who seem perfectly pleasant, and there's an older brother, Dalton, who seems slightly perculiar but nice enough..? And last but not least, you meet the youngest brother, Logan, who comes tumbling out of the house who gives you an awkward smile and a timid wave.
At first, you don't really think much of Logan. You think that he's pretty shy. Perhaps he's just introverted and takes a while to warm up to people. But then, on the first day of school, he knocks on your door, and the two of you walk to school together. From that day onwards, the two of you were inseperable.
When Logan is eight, his dad begins to bring him to Karting competitions. It seems that he's actually beginning to take this thing seriously. On days where his competitions don't clash with your school, your parents let you follow Logan to his competitions, and you're always the one who cheers the loudest.
When he tells you that he's making the move to Formula 4, you're absolutely elated for him. This is always what he's been aiming for, to move closer to Formula 1, but something seems off. "Logan?" You tentatively ask, trying not to set off any alarms. "Yeah?" He replies, seeming quite preoccupied. "Why don't you seem happy?" You ask, the air of the room abruptly shifiting to become chilly, even slightly cold. "I'm gonna have to travel away from home to compete. That means I won't see you that often."
Of course, you still talk to him. You FaceTime him when you can, when you aren't preoccupied with school, and when he isn't busy flying around the track. But then, he proceeds to progress up to Formula 3, and that entails 2 things: 1) He'll have to travel more for races, and 2) He'll probably have less time for himself and more competition.
So natrually, the two of you begin to drift apart. This isn't something that's premediated by the two of you, because the two of you were like peas in a pod, but then again, you're absolutely swamped with you're classes, and Logan's never been more busy in his life with all of the races he has to compete in.
Of course, when you see the announcement that he's been promoted to Formula 2 in 2020, and naturally, you congratulate him on his progress. But the two of you barely have time to talk. You're just about to start college, and he's busy racing. So it remains like that for a while. You see that he does well in races. You congratulate him, and he always replies graciously. But then again, your friendship feels as if it's been displaced in favour of your academics, and his career.
You're in University when you see that he's moving to Formula 1 for 2023. Usually, you'd just drop him the obligatory congratulatory text, but this seems bigger than that. He's moving to Formula 1. So you call him, in between your classes. When you press the call button, he picks up within three rings. "Hello?" His voice, although familiar, sounds much deeper than it once was. Yet, it still warms your soul like nothing else could. "Logan." You breathe out, grinning at the easy familiarity the two of you could fall into at the snap of a finger. "Y/N." You can hear his smile over the phone. "You're in the big leagues now, huh?" You throw yourself on your dorm's bed, looking at the ceiling while chatting with him. "Yeah. It's pretty crazy." He laughs, seeming to be in slight disbelief himself. "Red, white and blue baby!" You exclaim, making him chuckle, "Don't forget about your girl back home, though." "Never," he laughs, "I could never forget about you."
You don't really talk to him after that phone call. Of course, you drop the occasional text, which he's always eager to reply to, but your assignments are pratically eating you alive. Just a little while longer, you tell yourself, just until the Summer break, when you can go home, and enjoy cooling swims in the backyard of your parent's house and return to the people who you love most. Of course, you're absolutely elated to see your parents again, as well as your younger sibling, who happens to be an absolute joy to be around, and Mr and Mrs Sargeant too, who are always so pleasurable to be around, (truthfully, you're not too fond of Dalton. Throughout the years, you've had to tactfully avoid Dalton's passes at you, but hey, who knows about this year?) but a part of you yearns to see Logan again. It's been too long since you've seen him, and actually spent time with him, and you've checked, his Summer break perfectly aligns with yours, so who knows?
You arrive back home, suitcases in hand. Your mother warmly embraces you, and your father greets you with a kiss on the cheek. Your younger brother bolts down the stairs at your arrival, and practically throws himself at you. You're equally as overjoyed to be seeing him after such a long time.
Just as you've finally settled down in your old childhood bedroom, you decide to peer out the window, facing the driveway. There, you see in unmistakable figure of Logan Sargeant. Your heart begins to race, and you practically swear that you're travelling at the same speeds as a Formula car. At first, you don't make your presence known behind him. You just sneak up behind him as he chats with his mother on the driveway, and hold a singular finger up to your lips as a signal to her to keep quiet. She only gives you a knowing smile. But then again, you get kinda tired of waiting around. You tickle him. He lets out a scandalised gasp, and he snaps around to face you, and instantly, you're hit with a barrage of tickles. You laugh until your face is red, your cheeks begin to hurt, and tears leak from your eyes. Then, when he's finally done with his vicious attack against you, he embraces you in a hug, in the warmest hug you've ever known.
You decide to give Dalton a chance. Yeah, maybe he comes off as a little weird at times, but he seems nice enough, so the two of you go out for dinner. Does Logan seem slightly disapproving at the prospect of his brother and his best friend that he's loved since he was six going out? Maybe. But you don't know that. You don't need to know that.
So begrudgingly, Logan let's the two of you go out to dinner together.
Put nicely, you had a shit time at dinner.
You thought maybe, just maybe, after so many failed romances and poor dates that you would've had a chance with someone who was more familiar, and didn't come from a random lecture or a shitty dating app. But no. This was even worse. Dalton won't stop going on and on about the ex he can't get over. Rebecca, or something like that. Then what was the point of even brining me on a date then? You bitterly muse to yourself, gradually learning how 'hmm...' at the right times and tune him out. At one point, he even had the audacity to compare you with her. 'You know, Rebecca was more chatty. You don't talk a lot, do you?" Dalton asks, slight sass in his voice. "No, I do talk. Just about the things I like." You mumble, stabbing into your food.
At the end of the night, you're beyond emotionally spent. You plop onto the bed, and just start sobbing. Not because of the date, which was pretty bad, but just because you begin to wonder, am I really that bad? But just as you begin to expand on the matter, you hear three familiar knocks on your door. This was the secret knock you and Logan used to use when you wanted to see each other, and frankly, you're astounded that he still remembers. "Come in." You wince at the hoarseness of your voice. "Baby," he pratically coos when he sees that your eyes are red and swollen, "Come here," He opens his arms, and you practically fall into his chest. The gentle circles he's rubbing on your back soothes you, "That bad, huh?" He chuckles, wiping away the stray tears on your face. "I could treat you miles better, you know that?" "Do you know what a kilometre is?" You tease, which ellicits a laugh from him. "No, but I'd be willing to learn for you."
summary: Amid exam stress, Marc surprises you. After a cozy movie night and stargazing. Grateful for Marc's presence, you drift to sleep.
send me requests!! ❤️
You've been drowning in textbooks and notes for days, the looming exams consuming every waking moment. Each page turned feels like another step closer to the edge of exhaustion. But amidst the stress and late-night cram sessions, there's one thing you miss more than anything, spending time with Marc.
You and Marc have been inseparable since you met at a mutual friend's birthday party. From the first moment you laid eyes on each other, there was an undeniable connection. You've shared laughter, secrets, and countless moments together. But as finals approach, your time together has dwindled to brief text messages and occasional phone calls.
One evening, as you sit at your desk, buried under a pile of papers, you hear a soft knock on your door. Startled, you glance at the clock. Who could be visiting at this hour?
You open the door to find Marc standing there, a sheepish smile on his face and a backpack slung over his shoulder. His eyes sparkle with excitement as he takes in the sight of you.
"Marc! What are you doing here?" you exclaim, unable to hide your surprise.
"I missed you," he says simply, stepping inside and pulling you into a warm embrace. His arms feel like a sanctuary, a refuge from the chaos of your busy life. "I know you've been swamped with studying, but I couldn't go another day without seeing you."
You feel your stress melt away in Marc's arms. You've been so caught up in your studies that you hadn't realized just how much you missed him. His presence is like a soothing balm for your weary soul.
"Come on," Marc says, taking your hand. "Let's take a break from all this studying. I brought some snacks and your favorite movie."
You can't help but smile as Marc leads you to the living room, where he has set up a cozy nest of blankets and pillows in front of the TV. The soft glow of the screen illuminates the room, casting a warm, inviting light.
The sight of popcorn and chocolate makes your stomach rumble with anticipation. You settle onto the couch, tucking yourself into Marc's side as he presses play on the remote. The movie begins, but you find it hard to concentrate with Marc so close, his warmth seeping into your bones.
For the next few hours, you lose yourself in the world of the movie and each other's company. You laugh, you cry, and you share whispered conversations in the dark. It feels like no time has passed at all since you were last together, lost in your own little bubble of happiness.
As the credits roll, you realize just how much you needed this break. Marc has a way of grounding you, of making you forget about the pressures of school and just enjoy the moment. You turn to him, feeling a rush of gratitude and love swell in your chest.
"Thank you for coming, mi amor," you say, pressing a kiss to Marc's cheek.
"Anytime, mi vida," he replies, his voice soft and gentle. "I'll always be here for you, no matter how busy life gets."
You both sit in comfortable silence for a moment, savoring the closeness between you. Then Marc speaks up, his voice tentative.
"Would it be okay if I stayed over tonight?" he asks, his eyes searching yours for approval. "I don't want to leave you alone after such a long day."
A smile spreads across your face at the thought of spending the night with Marc. It's been too long since you've had him beside you, and the idea of falling asleep in his arms fills you with warmth.
"I would love that," you say, reaching out to take his hand. "Stay as long as you like."
Marc's face lights up with a smile, and he leans in to press a gentle kiss to your lips. "Thank you, mi vida," he murmurs, his voice filled with love.
"Hey," he says softly, turning to you with a gleam in his eyes. "It's a perfect night for stargazing. What do you say we take a break and enjoy the view?"
You smile at the suggestion, feeling a flutter of excitement in your chest. "That sounds wonderful." you reply, already imagining the cozy scene under the night sky.
Together, you gather blankets and pillows, creating a makeshift nest in the backyard. The air is cool and crisp, a refreshing contrast to the warmth of the house. You settle onto the blankets, snuggling close to Marc as you tilt your heads back to gaze at the stars.
The night sky stretches out above you, a vast expanse of darkness illuminated by pinpricks of light. Wrapped in blankets and each other's arms, you feel a sense of peace wash over you. The worries of exams and deadlines fade into the background as you lose yourselves in the beauty of the night.
As the hours pass, you share hopes and dreams, whispering secrets into the darkness. You talk about the future, imagining all the adventures you'll go on together once the football season and exams are over and summer break begins.
At one point, a shooting star streaks across the sky, and you both make a wish in unison, hearts filled with hope and possibility.
As you both lay under the blanket of stars, Marc turns to you with a soft smile. "What did you wish for?" he asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
You glance at him, a playful twinkle in your eye. "I can't tell you," you reply with a teasing grin. "You know the rule - if you tell, it won't come true."
Marc chuckles, leaning in closer to you. "Ah, playing it safe, are we?" he says, his warm breath tickling your ear. "Well, whatever it is, I hope it comes true for you."
His words send a shiver down your spine, a rush of affection flooding your heart. You reach out to squeeze his hand, feeling the connection between you grow even stronger in the quiet of the night.
As Marc's question lingers in the air, a soft smile graces your lips. "I wished for our future together," you finally admit, your voice barely above a whisper.
Marc's eyes widen slightly, his gaze softening as he takes in your words. "Our future," he repeats, his voice filled with warmth and affection. "I couldn't wish for anything more."
You feel a surge of emotion welling up inside you, overwhelmed by the depth of love you feel for Marc in this moment. He pulls you close, wrapping you in a tight embrace as if to reaffirm his commitment to you and the future you both envision together.
Underneath the canopy of stars, surrounded by the quiet serenity of the night, you share a moment of pure connection and understanding. It's as if the universe itself is whispering its blessings upon your love, promising a future filled with endless possibilities and boundless joy.
As you lay there, wrapped in Marc's arms, you can't help but feel a sense of peace wash over you. Whatever challenges lie ahead, you know that as long as you have Marc by your side, you'll be able to face them together, hand in hand, with unwavering love and devotion.
And as you drift off to sleep, cradled in the warmth of Marc's embrace, you hold onto the hope and excitement of the future that awaits, knowing that with him, anything is possible.
Neglect
Tumblr media
TW: smut. Language.
SUMMARY: You make it up to JJ for being a bit absent lately.
WORD COUNT: 1300
Requested
Can u do one where reader has unintentionally been neglecting JJ and when she realizes it, she makes it up with sex. Maybe he'll be watching tv and she straddles him and hes like "what are u doing?" And he just keep praising her and saying "you're so good to me" you can change it if you want
Neglect
"It is NOT fair how hot you look in an apron...maybe just an apron..." His lips came to the opening of your neck allowed by your high ponytail. And even if the feeling of his lips to your skin made your eyes threaten to roll between tables, you had a task at hand.
"Sorry, J...we're swamped..." You explained while returning behind the bar of The Wreck to retrieve another order of the lunch rush. He waited until you returned before setting his lighter, he flicked when anxious, back into his pocket.
"Maybe you could sneak away for a break?" Kiara noticed something in his expression, the longing he made silent as you were too distracted to notice just how he watched it. It was one of the many reasons the other pogues adored you. You managed to make JJ distracted enough to keep from being obnoxious as he was too obsessed with you. But right now, you were too focused on the need for tips to give in to his tempting request.
"I can't...we need the tips..." You reminded as he slowly nodded.
"I can fill your tickets for a minute-" Kiara offered.
"No. I got it." You didn't mean to snap, retreating back to the rush and found JJ slowly nodding.
"Well I don't want to bother ya, princess." There came a slight sting from his words as he pressed a kiss to your cheek and you turned to find Kiara shaking her head.
"What?"
"Ten minutes wouldn't have mattered..."
"He knows we need this..."
"Look...he's been moping around for days...weeks even...I know you're busy with taking the double shifts and your papers for college...but you've been neglecting him..."
"I have not..." You groaned, filling up more cups before you realized she was right.
"Oh my God...I have..."
"Go...I've got this..."
"You sure?"
"If I have to see him like that for another minute, I swear I'm going to lose my mind...just...go..." Kiara forced you away as drive to The Chateau, where JJ was already positioned on the couch with a beer and some old movie he held little interest in. When you came in, you were quick to straddle him, his lips captivated by yours as you felt him form immediately between your thighs. His ringed fingers rode up your legs and gripped onto your hips before he pulled back.
"Whoa sweetheart, don't you have a lunch rush to deal with?"
"You're always so good to me, J..." You ignored his words as laced kisses along his jaw and neck as he moaned beneath you, reclining against the couch and taking you with him as you rested more comfortably over him.
"I'm so sorry I've been so busy...but you have my full attention..."
"What about your boss? He's an ass-" You unbuttoned your uniform shirt and distracted him with your bra, his favorite color worn in lace. His lips traced the mounds before you rode against him to endorse him, his smirk against your skin then mirroring one of your own.
"Kie took over for me..."
"Remind me to thank her..." He grinned, reaching behind to your clasp as you slipped out of the bra and allowed him his fun with your breasts. You moaned as he took you between his teeth, your nipples sensitive and tight to his hot breath while you moved your hips to grind against him.
"I love everything about your body..."
"Yeah?"
"Fuck yeah..." You gasped to the grip he made at your ass, the harsh squeeze that would leave a lasting print you favored wearing. But this wasn't a hookup and it wasn't a rendezvous. This was an apology.
"What are you..." You slipped off of his lap and to your knees, parting his own, before then playing with his belt.
"I want to make you feel good, JJ..."
"Shit..." He watched as you licked your lips and released him from his shorts and boxers, leaving him only as naked as necessary.
"Hold my hair for me?" He made a quick ponytail from what you'd taken down from earlier, much preferring the way his fingers pulled than the elastic band.
"Oh fuck..." He groaned to your mouth, taking him completely. One slow glide down your throat with hollow cheeks and the beginning of tears to welcome him. But he was still soft, wanting to be kind to your throat.
"Fuck my throat, JJ...I want you to come this way..."
"You sure there, cupcake?"
You nodded as he sat on the edge of the couch.
"Come here..." He tapped the seat beside him as you bent over his lap.
"Goddamn perfect!" His dominant hand came to your hair, keeping your strands from your face, as another rodd the ridge of your thigh until he found your panties.
"Soaked already princess?" You nodded. "Maybe I should help you since you're so good to me..." He teased the words you spoke to him before rubbing small circles over the fabric.
"Oh fuck...slow down there tiger..." You chuckled as he moved his hips into you, sinking one finger after pushing your panties away.
"Two?" He asked as you gripped onto his thighs.
"My girl needs three to get ready for me, doesn't she?" You nodded before feeling one finger slip in after another.
"Fuck my fingers baby while I fuck that perfect little throat...see who comes first..." He chuckled, head at a rest on the couch as his fingers were relentless. A quick tease and challenge that fell short as he edged you with several potential orgasms, all to prolong you for him.
"John B is gonna be pissed you're dripping on his couch...come here..." You were taken over his lap and thrust into you before he held the back of your neck.
"You wanna make it up to me?" You nodded.
"Then show me how sorry you are, sweetheart...give me all your attention..."
"You...have...it..." You moaned as he thrust.
"Then come on my cock, princess...let me feel how sorry you are..." His grip tightened. "I wanna feel you clench around me..." He explained, consenting to your release that came with only a few brushes of his thumb to your clit. But the second your body convulsed, you were absent his cock as he bent you over the arm of the couch and took you from behind.
"I meant it what I said about that apron...so fucking sexy..." He hit your ass. "I want you in nothing but that walking around for me...so I can eat and finger you without needing to worry about clothes..."
"J!" You berated as the door suddenly came open.
"Fuck off!" JJ scolded as John B and Pope commented how it was about time for some as you only laughed, knowing how pissed John B was gonna be when he saw the stains you two would leave.
"Come for me again. Hard. You showed me how sorry you were...this time, I wanna hear it, princess..."
"JJ!"
"That's it...take it-just like this..." He slapped your ass again, your body relishing in the mix of pain and pleasure as he took his hand to your clit.
"Let me hear you, pretty girl." And just like that, you came undone once again, his body quick to follow as he pulled you up against his chest.
"You have ten seconds to get into that shower or I'm gonna make John B lose his shit when he finds your cum on every surface from here to that door..." He jerked his head towards the bathroom as you struggled to walk, reminding yourself you owed Kiara for taking one for the team.
He Don't Like The Lights | Bradley Bradshaw Actor AU|
Tumblr media
Waiting tables wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t your favorite job either. Not that you hated it, because you didn’t. For the most part you liked your coworkers, your roommate Celeste being one of them. Your bosses weren’t horrible, and the pay was alright. You were able to pay your bills and stash some extra cash away for savings. Soon, or at least you hoped it would be soon, you would be able to move out of the somewhat shitty place with Celeste and get a better apartment. Maybe even leave Virginia altogether.
“Hey, I need you to take table five.”
“But it’s not in my section tonight,” You argue with your manager.
“Just take it, okay? It's a single and you’re better with singles than Celeste,” He replied, shooing you away with his hands.
You let out a dramatic sigh, rolling your eyes as you grabbed your waitress book and headed towards the single guy sitting at the table. You never sized up tables before you started serving them, never tried to write people off before they had a chance to show their colors.
But you could tell that this guy was hot just by the way he was sitting with a baseball cap tugged low. He at least knew how to wear a damned hat unlike some of the guys who came in with it halfway on their heads.
“Hi, welcome in, can I get you started with anything to drink?” You asked cheerfully as you stopped in front of him.
The bar was relatively empty, which came as a surprise since it was a weekend and the weather was fairly nice. Maybe everyone was still out at the beach and would be in before dinner ended. Maybe you would get lucky and end up having a good tip night to make up for the shitfest that was last night.
“Uh, just a Bud on draft if you have it.”
“Bud lite?” You question.
“No, Buswieser, the real shit,” There’s a hint of a laugh in his voice.
“I’ve got it in a bottle, is that okay?”
“Yeah that works,” He replies, tipping his head back to look up at you.
It takes you a second to register who’s actually looking at you. You’ve seen those dark hazel eyes on screen plenty of times, because Cele is obsessed with his movies. However, what really takes you back is how normal he looks in an old beat up t-shirt and shorts. He doesn’t look like the glamourous actor that you’ve seen.
“I’m sorry- are you,” You stop and lick your lips.
You aren’t nervous, because you aren’t obsessed with him. His movies are okay, and you have to admit he is more attractive in person than he is on screen. But you’ve never been one to fall face first over someone who’s in the industry, not that you’ve ever had the chance to before.
“Are you Bradley Bradshaw?” The question comes out as a whisper as you lean down, trying to be as quiet as you can.
He pales for a moment, waiting to see if you’re going to fully freak out on him before smiling sheepishly, “Caught that easily, huh?”
“You’re lucky it’s just me and not the other girl over there,” You inform him, “She’d be on the floor, and I know that because I live with her and share a TV with her. But since it’s just me,” you smile at him before backing away a step, “A bottle of Bud coming right up.”
He smiles and relaxes into his seat before looking back down at his phone on the table. You can’t help but smile as you make your way towards the bar and the POS system to start his ticket.
Bradley Bradshaw is eating in the bar and no one but you knows. He just happened to be lucky enough that Celeste had the one big table and was therefore too busy to take him, even though it was her section.
“Thanks for taking that table,” She sounds out of breath as she sets a drink tray down next to you, “I’m swamped with those fuckers over there. Tourists on vacation who want everything at that very moment. Including three Virgin Strawberry Daiquiris for the kids. I want to shoot myself.”
You smile to yourself as you make your way around to the beer cooler to grab a nice cold bottle of Bud, “Oh don’t worry about it. He shouldn’t cause any trouble anyway.”
If only she knew.
“Here you go,” You say, sitting the open bottle down on his table, “Do you need a minute to look over the menu? Or do you have any questions?”
“What do you recommend?” He asked you, looking back up.
“Pulled Pork Mac’n’cheese, easy,” You replied almost instantly, “Hands down my favorite dish here, after our Crab Dip appetizer, but I also eat that for a full meal.”
He smiles up at you and closes the menu before handing it back to you, “I’ll try that Pork Mac then.”
“Sounds good, I’ll get that right in!” You smile triumphantly before backing away once again, “Holler if you need anything, okay? I’ll be back to check on you before the food comes out.”
Back at the bar, Celeste is finally able to stop for a minute and catch her breath. She looks miserable and it makes you want to laugh a little. Her night would be very different if she just took Table Five instead.
She’s hunched over her phone reading an article, which normally you would call her out on being on her phone but tonight you can’t be bothered. It’s slow enough and her phone is hidden anyway.
“Hey, Bradshaw is up for a bunch of awards,” She grins, “He so deserves them. You remember how great he was in that war movie, right! That’s what’s being nominated.”
“Hmm?” You question before your brain seems to catch up with you, “Oh, yeah. No, he was great in that movie. Whole cast was, honestly.”
“Exactly! I hope they sweep at the Oscars, they all deserve it so much.”
You have to hide your smile as you type away on the POS to put in the order. In the back, you can hear your kitchen jamming out to some sort of heavy metal meets classic rock mix which isn’t all that unusual for them. There are some days you’ve come to work and they’ve been listening to Disney music. At this point you can’t even try to say that you understand what their playlists consist of.
It takes ten minutes before you’re walking back over to the table with another beer in hand. You noticed he was starting to run low and you know better than to let a drink ever go empty. That was one of the first things you learned when you became a waitress.
“Brought you another one,” You announce, setting it down.
“Thanks, appreciate it,” He replies, “And uh, thanks for not freaking out on me. Would’ve been a bitch if I got swarmed in here.”
“No worries, I’m not a rabid fan or anything,” You laugh, “But I am curious as to why you’re here of all places. I thought you lived in LA?”
“I do,” He nods, “But this was home long before LA was. I was born here in Virginia, I like to come back and visit family from time to time.”
“Oh,” You’re taken back by his honesty. He could’ve easily told you that it was none of your business, which is what you expected, “That’s really nice actually.”
Celeste calls you, saying the kitchen wants you. Reluctantly you force yourself away from the table and towards the set of double swinging doors in the middle of the bar. Something about Bradley Bradshaw is drawing you in and you aren’t sure if you want to resist it or not. Surely he wouldn’t remember your name in a few hours. He’d forget about the server from Virginia the second he got on a flight back to LA and the way of the world would take back over.
“Here’s that pork mac,” Chef told you, nudging the dish in the window, “Get it out of my sight.”
“Sir yes sir,” You reply, grabbing the hot dish, “Thank you!”
“Yeah yeah, fuck off,” He grumbled, which only made you smile.
You made your way back towards Bradley’s table with a smile. You could see why Celeste was so enamored with him. There was just something about him that made you want to sit down and hang on his every word. Plus, he was hot as hell. He still had the mustache from his previous role, and was trying to hide behind his ball cap. He looked normal, almost.
You wondered how other people here saw him? Were they even paying attention to the bonafide star that was hiding out in the corner? Celeste would piss herself if she knew he was here, hell, you might even piss yourself if he smiled at you again. The thought made you a little weak in the knees.
“Your pork mac,” You said, sitting it down on the table in front of him, “Be careful, it’s actually pretty hot.”
“Mmm, looks fantastic,” He nearly groaned, “Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me yet, you don’t even know if you’ll like it!” You laughed, “But I hope you enjoy, and let me know if I can get you anything else.”
You hop away from him again, taking a deep breath as you go. Maybe the night wouldn’t be as bad as you thought.
——————————————————————————————————
Having six kids could be a challenge sometimes, Malon was willing to admit.
It would be difficult enough normally, but with five of them having superpowers, two being adopted, and all of them rambunctious boys who sometimes forgot their house was on the small side... it could be a lot sometimes.
But Malon always did her best, and Time along with her. Even when it got overwhelming, even when they disagreed, even through the sleepless nights and stress and fear and countless other worries from essentially living underground, they both tried their hardest to raise their kids well, and keep them safe and happy. Malon could only hope they were succeeding.
Especially in regards to their two adopted boys.
Hyrule and Wild had both been through such awful things, both due to factors they couldn’t control. It wasn’t always obvious, and they were both so strong for their ages, but sometimes the scars that had been left on them both reared their ugly heads, and one or the both of them would fall apart for a bit.
Malon always tried to pay attention and help when one or the other of them was stuck in a bad period. She had plenty of practice with Wild, and usually knew how to comfort him, but Hyrule could be a bit of a mystery still. She was still figuring out what tended to set him off, how he acted when he was upset, how his reactions tended to differ from Wild’s, and most of all, how to help.
And at the moment, she was at a bit of a loss as to what to do.
Hyrule had been acting quieter then normal recently, fading to the background of the typical chaos his brothers brought with them. He mostly just nodded if someone asked him something, and seemed a little more distant, taking longer to respond to things, and keeping to himself.
Malon wouldn’t have worried too much about most of that, but then she noticed the shadowed circles appear under his eyes, ones that only seemed to get darker with every passing day. It soon became obvious Hyrule wasn’t getting nearly enough sleep with the way he began to stumble around, and Malon’s worry doubled.
And then Wild started to act in a similar way, unusually quiet and withdrawn, tired-looking and cranky, and that really got her worried.
Malon just wasn’t sure how to go about getting to the root of the problem. Wild and Hyrule were both tight-lipped when things bothered them, and got defensive if pushed, and Malon knew a direct confrontation could be disastrous. She’d tried some light prodding, but hadn’t been successful in the slightest.
She could guess what it was that was bothering the two of course, and had a pretty good idea of what it might be, but she also didn’t want to assume and end up making things worse. Time didn’t have any ideas either when she discussed the problem with him, but he’d been swamped at work lately, and was barely thinking straight.
So Malon was left to try and figure out the problem mostly by herself, her worry growing by the day.
It finally reached the point where it was affecting her own sleep, and Malon found herself startled awake late one night after a week had gone by from the start of her sons’ odd behavior, and found herself completely unable to fall back asleep.
Time was snoring softly beside her, and Malon laid there for a while, trying to let the sound lull her back to sleep. She didn’t have any luck though, her brain too full, her mind too awake. She finally sighed, getting nowhere, and carefully slipped out of bed and pulled on her bathrobe. She made sure not to disturb Time at all, then walked down to the kitchen to try making herself a cup of tea.
The kettle didn’t take long to heat, and Malon yawned as she set her tea to steeping, walking into the living room with it to sit and wait for it to finish.
Then stopped in her tracks, realizing she wasn’t alone.
Malon hadn’t noticed on her way in, but there were two odd lumps huddled on the couch, both quiet and still. She stepped closer to study them, and realized one was Hyrule, wrapped tight in a blanket and staring silently at the ground.
He wasn’t the only there either, but whoever it was beside him was bundled up so tightly that Malon had no idea who it even was.
She could certainly guess though.
Worry crested over her, and she set down her cup, walking forward and shuffling her feet just a little to make sure Hyrule heard her coming. He startled a little anyway when he noticed her, but didn’t shield or run, just went back to staring at the floor.
The lump next to him shifted a little, and Malon saw a strand of long blond hair fall free of the blanket.
“Hyrule? Wild?” she asked gently, and Hyrule swallowed, wiping his sleeve across his eyes. Wild didn’t move. “It’s awful late you two, what are you doing down here?”
Hyrule didn’t look at her.
“Sorry, it’s nothing,” he whispered.
“If it was nothing, you both wouldn’t be out here and not in your beds,” Malon gently pointed out, sitting down on the couch beside them both. “What’s eatin’ you?”
Hyrule kept looking at his feet, a few sniffles escaping him.
“I-I, we just can’t sleep,” he whispered, not meeting her eyes. “That’s all.”
“That’s all?” Malon asked gently. Hyrule gave her a tiny shrug. “Well... is there a particular reason you two can’t sleep?”
Hyrule went silent.
The lump at his side shifted, and Wild poked his head out, Hyrule moving so he was more tucked against his side then before.
“...bad dreams,” Wild whispered after a few minutes, voice shaky. “‘Rulie too.”
Malon’s heart sank.
“Both of you?” she asked worriedly, and Wild nodded, rubbing at the shadows under his eyes.
“Sorry,” Hyrule whispered even more quietly.
“Honey, you don’t need to apologize,” Malon said, and turned so she could meet his eyes. “Neither of you do, it’s okay. Do you want to talk about them?” she asked in a softer voice.
Wild shook his head, and Hyrule shrank down in his blanket.
“No.”
Worry prickled at her, but Malon nodded, and didn’t say anything for a moment, Hyrule still letting out an occasional sniffle. Wild shifted where he was curled up again, and somehow he and Hyrule ended up snuggled against Malon, Wild’s head in her lap, Hyrule’s resting on her arm.
A shuddering sigh escaped Wild, and Malon ran a hand over his head, fingers ghosting past his scars.
She let out a quiet sigh of her own, looking at them both. She’d finally gotten the answer to what was bothering them (and had been bothering them), but she felt no better knowing the reason.
The nightmares must have been especially bad as of late.
Malon adjusted Hyrule’s blanket, continuing to run her hand over Wild’s head. She dearly wished she she could take away what was troubling them both, and let them get a full night’s sleep for once, but unfortunately that wasn’t a power she possessed.
Malon wished it all the same though.
Hyrule sniffled again, and Malon shifted her arm so it was resting around him, loose enough he wouldn’t be nervous, but tight enough to offer comfort. He leaned into it, and Malon ran her hand over his hair as well.
“Mom?” Wild whispered after a bit, and Malon hummed questioningly. “Why’re you awake too?”
“Did we wake you up?” Hyrule asked worriedly, and Malon shook her head.
“No sweetie, you didn’t. I just couldn’t sleep either,” she admitted, and Wild peered up at her, worry shining in his eyes.
“...was it cause of nightmares?” he asked softly, and Malon ran her hand over his head again.
“No, not tonight. But... sometimes I have them.”
“...What about?”
Malon sighed, thinking for a moment before she spoke. Wild and Hyrule certainly didn’t need to know everything about nightmares she’d had, especially the worst ones, but maybe a few details would help them feel better.
“Well... I worry about you boys, and your father. All sorts of things, really. And sometimes my dreams take my worries and just twist them up and make them worse then they really are. It’s hard,” she said gently, “to remember they’re not real sometimes.”
Her boys seemed to think about that for a minute, both staying quiet.
“...Mine’re like that,” Hyrule whispered. “With the mostly real things.”
“I never remember mine,” Wild admitted, voice still shaky. “Just... just how bad they were.”
“Oh boys,” Malon said softly, and Hyrule sniffled again, hiding his face in her arm.
She’d thought the ache in her chest couldn’t get any worse, but apparently it could, and Malon held both of them tighter, running a soothing hand across both their heads. Hyrule and Wild relaxed at the motion, and Malon kept it up, beginning to softly hum.
She couldn’t take her sons’ bad dreams away. And she couldn’t take away the memories that brought them on, and continued to plague them even afterwards. But she could comfort them now, let them know everything was okay and that they weren’t alone, no matter what their nightmares tried to tell them.
Not on my watch, she thought as she continued to hold them tight.
Wild and Hyrule’s eyes began to droop as she hummed her family’s song, and Malon watched as they both slowly nodded off, still snuggled tight against her.
After several minutes, both were soundly asleep, faces relaxed from the tension that had been there before. A part of Malon wanted to just stay here with them all night, but she knew her back wouldn’t like it if she slept upright on a couch, and they’d all be more comfortable in their own beds. So once she was sure they were both asleep, she shifted Wild and Hyrule around, careful not to wake them. Then Malon pulled them both up into her arms, standing and walking back to their rooms.
Despite her efforts not to jostle them, both Hyrule and Wild’s eyes blinked open as she moved, and they watched her walk up the stairs, barely awake.
“You can carry us both?” Wild murmured doubtfully, and Malon smiled as she easily reached the top of the stairs.
“Darlin’ I’ve lifted cows twice your size before, this is nothing.”
Hyrule giggled. “Really?”
“Really.”
Hyrule and Wild both let out sleepy giggles at that, and Hyrule set his head back against her shoulder, eyes slipping closed.
Malon dropped Wild off first, setting him down in his bed and attempting to fix his blankets. Somehow they’d gotten all tangled around and folded in on themselves, and it took her a moment to straighten them out enough to tuck Wild in.
“Goodnight hon. Sleep well,” she said softly.
“You too,” Wild mumbled sleepily, and curled up under his blankets.
Malon gave him a kiss, and noticed a furry head poking up from Twilight’s bed, blue eyes shining at her. She put a finger to her lips, then carried Hyrule out of the room, hearing pawsteps cross the floor after she was gone.
She brought Hyrule to the room he shared with Four and Wind, stepping lightly so as not to wake anyone. Malon set him down once she crossed the room to his end, and tucked him in like she’d done for Wild, adjusting his blankets around him, and fetching the stuffed rabbit he usually slept with that had fallen halfway under the bed.
Hyrule watched her sleepily the whole time, still clinging stubbornly to consciousness. Malon lingered a moment even after she finished getting him settled, running a hand over his head, and Hyrule relaxed into the touch.
“Goodnight honey,” she said softly as his eyes finally drifted shut, and she stood and began to walk out the door.
“...Mom?”
The whisper made her pause, and she looked back at Hyrule, his eyes open again.
“Yes sweetheart?”
Hyrule blinked sleepily, barely hanging on to wakefulness, but Malon heard his next whisper loud and clear.
“...Love you.”
Malon looked at him in astonishment, warmth blooming in her middle at the sound of the words from her son. She blinked back a bit of a sting in her eyes, then walked back over to Hyrule, smiling at him.
“I love you too honey,” she said softly, and kissed the top of his head. “Sleep well.”
Hyrule smiled back at her, and his eyes closed again, Malon knowing he was truly asleep this time.
She adjusted his blankets just a little more, then straightened and crept out of the room, back to her own bed. The anxiety and tightness that had been keeping her awake had finally settled, and her eyes felt heavy as she slipped back to where she and Time slept.
“...Everything alright?” Time whispered as she got back into bed, looking at her sleepily. “You’ve been gone a while, I was about to come looking for you."
Malon smiled as she got under the covers, and nestled up to Time with a sleepy sigh.
“Yes. Everything’s fine,” she replied, setting her head under his. “Nothing to worry about.”
And something to celebrate, she thought as she closed her eyes, Hyrule’s whisper still warming her heart.
DILUC
Receiving gifts wasn’t a foreign concept nor rare occurrence for the red-eyed wine tycoon.
If anything, he would like to say he was sick of it. Aside from his disdain for the very product his own family supports and finds livelihood from, the constant image and good relations he must keep to keep said business thriving and flowing invites a lot of instances where he would receive complimentary gifts and items from his business partners. Some would send as a gesture of good will, others with hidden agendas and ulterior motives.
But of course, you are the exception. You will always be the exception.
When you pleaded for him to free up a couple of hours during the day to spend some time with him, he reluctantly agreed despite the hectic schedule and tasks he needed to follow up and accomplish within that day. He already figured out you were arranging some sort of surprise, but what you had planned was something he had no idea about at all.
You could imagine how he could physically feel his cheeks heat up to a degree he thought would endanger his own body temperature and the way his heart’s paced raced faster than the adrenaline and excitement he would feel coursing through his veins when he found himself seated atop a private and safe clearing near Windrise, a picnic blanket set on the ground and a basket filled with food and drinks positioned in the middle.
When you shyly tugged on his sleeve and handed him a bouquet of small lampgrass you gathered yourself along with a box clumsily wrapped, he couldn’t stop himself from gathering your gifts on one arm and grabbing you with his other.
His arm wrapped around your waist and your chests collided, a small “oof!” of surprise escaping you as he buried himself in the cook of your neck. How was he so lucky to have found you? What did he do to deserve the blessing that was your existence, your very being in his life?
Diluc was not a man whose words littered with flattery and praise, but he would be damned if he couldn’t show how much he appreciated you for your efforts. When he pulled back and gazed at you with the widest smile and the softest of looks with his bright red eyes, he had hoped that this would be more than enough to convey the overflowing stream of emotions he was unable to verbalize out loud aside from the usual words of affections you two would share underneath the hush and curtains of privacy, away from the world.
And when he saw you return the smile and your cheeks flush nearly the same shade as his fiery red hair, there was no doubting each other’s emotions as you shared a kiss underneath the large branches of the tree, with the soft breeze brushing past you and the crystaflies dancing in the air, much like the fluttering beats of both of your hearts.
ALHAITHAM
As “rational” and “logical” he may be, there was no denying that Alhaitham understood the nuances and contexts of social interactions including romantic exchanges. After all, when he unexpectedly found himself falling in love with you and realizing he wanted to be with you, it would be as irrational and illogical for him to act in a way that would push you away or make you want to distance yourself from him.
When you asked him whether he was available for lunch on a certain sunny day, he already assumed that you would have a picnic idea prepared somewhere nearby. It wasn’t just a random guess either; he had picked up on your actions from the days leading up to that moment. The way you had invested more attention and detail to grocery shopping, the new picnic blanket and basket you had tried to hide beneath the storage by your shared home from his line of sight, and the rather suspicious way you tried to plead with him to leave his schedule vacant during noon-
Really, it was like you weren’t even trying.
So when he appeared collected and not at all phased when you tried to bring him to a reserved spot near Yazadaha Pool, he tried his best not to let a small amused smirk appear on his face.
What he didn’t expect, however, was the bouquet of sand grease pupa and flowers of what seemed to come from a well-known monster located around the northern desert of Sumeru. His eyes blinked so fast as he tried to make sense of what exactly you had just handed him- a gift or a prank?
It didn’t matter though when he heard the ringing of your uncontrollable laughter upon witnessing the Grand Scribe’s facial expression. He let out a short scoff and tried to appear as if offended by the gift, but he couldn’t stay that way when you wrapped your arms around his waist and gave him a chaste kiss on the corner of his lips.
To outdo and surprise Alhaitham of all people was certainly a feat, but to grab his heart and make it your own was something he knew no ordinary person could do.
With the bouquet of pupas and monster drops and your voice filling the air with stories about your day, he couldn’t help but lean his head atop of yours and allow you to rest on his chest as the afternoon sun rose high in the sky and shone down upon both of you- it’s warmth giving Alhaitham enough excuse to hide the blush that formed in his face when you brushed your lips against his, but not enough to hide the erratic beating of his own heart.
CYNO
Yet another individual who seems as if he isn’t well-versed in the context of human relationships, but is really just a secret softie underneath the front he constantly puts as General Mahamatra.
It didn’t take any kind of coaxing or bargaining at all for him to agree with spending some of his free time with you. Had it not been for his personal duties, he would gladly spend all the time in the world just staying by your side.
He was quite curious on what you had planned, but still trusted you even when you gave him a slip of paper and made him try to solve for the mysterious place you had arranged for your little date.
It didn’t take much time to figure out the location of your date, but he couldn’t say it was a little fun with how you used references from TCG to lure him in and try to make him lose his way there.
He was the General Mahamatra, nothing could possibly distract him from his goals when he set his eyes on it.
... is what he thought until he tripped over a subtle lump of earth after his eyes landed on you.
You were waiting for him by a neatly arranged picnic blanket spread across the grass. In your arms were a fresh bouquet of Padisarah flowers mixed with Sumeru roses and other brightly colored flowers and a gentle yet giddy smile on your face.
Maybe it was the way the sunlight hit your figure that it looked like you were a dazzling, mythical being and the way your eyes glittered with mirth and joy- he wasn’t sure- but it was such a sight that it was practically inevitable he would trip over the ground and almost fall on his face.
When he heard your worried words accompanied with a few snickers of laughter, he couldn’t help the smile that appeared on his face as well. He watched as your giddy face turned bashful as you shyly handed him the bouquet you prepared for him and how your cheeks reddened from embarrassment when you told him that you planned all this as a way to give him a break and to spend more special time with one another.
He gladly accepted your bouquet with one arm and tenderly cupped your cheek with the other. His thumb brushed on the soft surface of your cheek and underneath the skin of his hand he could feel the warmth emanating from your embarrassed and shy face. A small whisper of gratitude left his lips, a quiet gesture from the seemingly intimidating and feared General Mahamatra, but not equating to how big and impactful your existence was to his life and how he silently swore with the very same breath that spoke of your name to protect your smile and the warmth you bring into his life.
Chapter 10 - Back in the Saddle Again
“Tell me everything you know.” Luke spoke in hushed tones into his cell phone as he hid over the back of the San Antonio Police Department.
Over the swell of people coming and going, phones ringing off their hooks and keyboards clacking, he heard Phil sigh.
“I don’t really know much at all, Alvez.” Phil’s tone was laced with his frustration. “She stole a car in New York after her escape, it was found abandoned down your neck of the woods, just outside of Richmond. But from there…man I don’t know. I can only assume she must have gotten her hands on another vehicle but there weren’t any reported stolen within a fifty mile radius.
“If she’s smart she would have headed for Mexico. But if she did that’ll make finding her that much harder. We know she had money after her first escape, we found the empty safe at mom’s house. She must have known I was close when I apprehended her and stashed it somewhere, so we have to assume she has it again. There have been no sightings of her for the last few days and you know as well as I do that without sightings, there’s nothing I can do.”
“I wish I could help.” Luke pushed the fingers of his free hand against his temple. “But with the whole network thing we’re swamped. Not to mention we’re short on the ground. I want to be kept in the loop though. If you hear anything…”
“Of course, of course.” Phil agreed. “Knowing how she operates she’s probably worked her magic on some poor, unexpected sap who’s taken pity on her. Her face is plastered everywhere up and down the country. Someone has to recognise her.”
“If she’s in some small Mexican town, hell if she’s in some small American town, those kinds of things don’t reach everyone.” Luke continued kneading his temple aggressively. “I hate this, I hate feeling so powerless.”
“We’ll get her Alvez. It might not be today or tomorrow, hell it might not even be this year. But we will get her.” Phil sounded determined and it was one of the things Luke admired most about his old partner.
Even after all he’d been through with Daniel Cullen, even after his rehabilitation had almost destroyed his spirit entirely, he was one determined son of a bitch.
“Keep me posted.” Luke replied before hanging up the phone.
He turned away from the corner wall he’d been staring at, ready to rejoin the team but a set of hauntingly intense dark eyes full of irritation were staring back at him.
She had her arms folded over her chest, her greying hair tied back into a ponytail which made her features appear more stern.
“So it’s true, you are working your own cases?” Emily clucked, tilting her head at him.
“Does Garcia ever keep her mouth shut?” Luke scoffed. “It’s just an old case from back in my FTF days, I’m sorry.”
Emily softened slightly, dropping her arms to her sides with a huffed out breath. She quipped her head to the left.
“Walk with me.” She said before she was already leaving.
Luke quickly followed, falling into step with her. He walked with her until they reached the doors of the precinct. She shoved it open and the two stepped outside into the blistering, humid Texan heat.
She stopped on the pavement a few feet away from the door and once again folded her arms across her chest.
“Is this affecting your ability to be an effective member of this team?” She asked him outright.
“No.” He shook his head, jaw set. “Just some unfinished business is all.”
“She got under your skin?” She narrowed her eyes on him, profiling him.
“They all do.” Luke’s jaw tensed. “But yeah, I supposed she did more than most. She had everyone falling at her feet, treating her with kid gloves. Everyone seemed to forget the fact she murdered a guy. We got close to her, I’m sure we did, right before I got the call from Hotch to help out the BAU.
“We got a tip that she’d been seen in this tiny little town of Magnolia Springs, Alabama. A guy reported he’d seen a person matching her description coming and going from his neighbours house. Someone musta tipped her off because when we arrived she was gone and the woman whose house she was supposedly staying in wasn’t talking.
“I felt her, Emily, she was close, so close. But she slipped out of my reach. And then I joined the BAU and I wasn’t able to be there when Phil finally caught up to her. I wanted to be the one to arrest her, I don’t know why. She got to me and I have no idea why, but the thought of her escaping again is eating me up inside. And now we’re here, in Texas of all places and I…I just…” He trailed off, a lump forming in his throat.
He coughed to try and dislodge it, rubbed his hand up and down his neck. Emily once again let her arms fall from their folded position and her shoulders slumped a little.
“We’re right on his doorstep. Practically in his backyard.” She smiled despondently.
She didn’t need to say his name, saying his name in fact might make matters worse. But she knew Luke understood who she meant. In truth, as soon as she’d gotten the call to come out here she had thought of Spencer. And if she was thinking about him, Luke most definitely was.
“Yeah,” he croaked. “I wish it wasn’t still this…hard, you know? Two years and I still feel like it was yesterday you were telling us he left.”
“You never got closure.” Emily shrugged, sucking in a breath. “It’s hard to move on without it. It's like a book with its end pages missing. You just keep flicking through it and hoping they will appear. There was no end for you and him, not a fleshed out one anyway. One day it was and the next it simply wasn’t.”
“I know the rest of the team didn’t see his medical reports from Milburn but as Unit Chief, I imagine you had to?” He straightened his back.
They’d never talked about it, there was no reason to. It wouldn’t have undone what Spencer had to endure and so they just didn’t talk about it. Maybe it was to protect Spencer’s autonomy, or maybe it was to protect themselves from it.
Emily closed her eyes for a few seconds and nodded her head stiffly.
“Yeah, I had to read them. Unfortunately it’s part of the job. Why did you read them?”
“He wouldn’t talk to me.” Luke shook his head. “He wouldn’t talk to me and I knew I was missing something. I had to know. Although I wish I didn’t.”
“Palatal petechiae, indicative of forced oral sex.” Emily’s eyes welled with unshed tears as she said it out loud. “It’s a form of rape.”
Luke visibly crumbled as she spoke the word, the one word he’d tried to keep out of his head for all these years.
But that’s what it was. Spencer had been raped, probably repeatedly. And Luke had turned his back on him.
He slumped against the wall to keep himself balanced, the weight of Emily’s words crashing into him and forcing all the air from his lungs.
His head was pounding. He felt his stomach turn violently.
“I broke up with him. He was struggling through an immense amount of trauma, a trauma I knew he suffered and I still broke up with him. What kind of a person does that?” His voice cracked.
“He didn’t want your help, Luke. He didn’t want anyone’s help. You know Reid as well as I do, probably better, and you know he was never going to admit what happened to him. He’s too proud. He’s a protector, he’s spent his entire adult life in that role. He speaks for the people who can’t speak for themselves. But when something like that happens to him, he feels he has no one to speak for him.”
“I would have.” Luke swallowed. “I would have done anything for him.”
“I’m sure deep down he knows that.” Emily took a step closer and gripped Luke’s shoulder tightly. He needed grounding. “But he is one of the most stubborn people I have ever met and if he thinks he can get through this on his own, that’s what he’ll do. We need to let him figure this out however he sees fit.”
“I thought he’d come back.” A tear escaped his eye and he was quick to bat it away. “I thought he’d take some time but that he’d come back. I deluded myself into thinking that one day he’d just show up and we could pick up where we left off. I still love him, Em. I still love him with every goddamn beat of my heart.”
Emily’s fingers coiled into his shoulder blade, kneading his tense muscle in her hand.
“We’re really short on the ground and this case is a matter of urgency.” She spoke but Luke’s eyebrows pinched together in confusion. “But once we’re wrapped up here, whenever that might be, I think you owe yourself a vacation day. Bandera is only forty something miles from here. And I hear it’s lovely this time of year.”
Luke’s lip quivered in understanding and he melted into her touch.
“You’re sure?”
“I mean you’ll have to clear it with Rossi as he’s your Unit Chief but I can’t foresee it being an issue. And if I remember rightly, it’s Reid’s birthday soon, Garcia is already working on overnighting a bunch of gifts out here. It would be good if someone could give them to him.” She smiled sadly, letting go of his shoulder and taking a step backwards.
Luke closed his eyes briefly to stem any more tears, nodding his head in thanks at his old boss and feeling a swell of emotion in that moment.
Emily was surprised to say the least when Luke suddenly engulfed her in a tight embrace. Her arms hovered at her sides for a few seconds, while she comprehended what was happening.
In all the years she’d know Luke Alvez, she didn’t think he’d ever hugged her before.
When he started shaking against her, sobbing into her shoulder, she wrapped him in her arms, and held him.
She gave him a few minutes, allowed him a brief window in which he could let himself feel the weight of everything he’d been bottling up for two years.
Emily Prentiss was the FBI Section Chief, but that was the secondary facet of her personality. Above all else, Emily was a friend. And a damn good one at that.
***
You heard him coming before you saw him, noting his gait was faster than you’d grown accustomed to. He didn’t sound as though he was limping too much this morning, at least he was starting to heal.
You had your back to him and kept it that way, hoping if you didn’t engage him he may well leave you alone.
But you had no such luck.
“What the hell are you doing?” The irritation in his voice was ripe.
You swallowed thickly before tugging lightly on Rusty’s rein to turn her about to face him. You commanded the flaxen mare to trot closer to where Spencer stood glaring at you on the other side of the enclosure.
“I mean, I think it’s pretty clear what I’m doing.” You huffed as you got closer. “I'm riding my horse.”
“You’ve had two lessons. Do you know how dangerous it is to ride without supervision?” He spat, unlocking the gate and stepping inside the fenced area. “Get down.”
“No.” You scoffed. “I’m fine. You said it yourself, I’m a natural.”
“For the love of god, you are going to be the death of me.” He shook his head, rubbing his brow beneath his stetson.
“I’ll feed you to Rusty when that happens.” You smirked sarcastically.
“We need to talk.” He exhaled, not at all sounding like that was something he wanted to do.
“I’m good.” You shook your head.
“It wasn’t a question. We need to talk.” He glanced around the area and only really registered for the first time all four of the horses were grazing in the field. “Why are my horses out here?”
“So I could clean the stable.” You shrugged, patting Rusty’s neck. “I refilled their troughs, got them fresh water. Even cleaned out the cattle barn.”
Spencer’s brows pinched as he looked up at you.
“It’s eight am, how long have you been up?”
“Never went to sleep.” You shrugged again.
The look you gave him told him it was his fault you hadn’t slept. In truth he hadn’t either.
He came around from his dissociation still on his bathroom floor as though he hadn’t moved but clearly at some point he must have because he had the razor in his hands.
He was bleeding from a self-inflicted wound on his stomach, just left of his belly button. Once again he’d patched himself up with the use of butterfly stitches and stuck a large gauze pad over the wound.
After that he couldn’t sleep, just sat up staring at the wall thinking about where his life went so drastically wrong.
Three times now he’d dissociated in startlingly quick succession. Three times he’d come to with unintentional cuts on his body. He was starting to scare himself if truth be told. Perhaps he needed to consider seeking out his old therapist and getting a higher dosage of his medication.
“Can we…take a ride or something?” He spoke again, voice cracking.
“Should you be riding?” You frowned at him.
“My leg is feeling something akin to normal again. It's the least pain I’ve been in anyway. The doctor told me I could ride again when I felt ready. And there’s somewhere I’d like to show you.”
“Fine,” you huffed out a breath so he knew you weren’t thrilled by the idea.
“Super, just let me grab Willow’s saddle. Oh, could you maybe help get Frank and Wilbur back to the stable?” He asked with a cocked eyebrow.
“You’re taking Willow?” Your brows furrowed.
“Yeah?” He returned your expression.
“And I’m taking Rusty.”
“Again, yeah?”
“Have you forgotten that they hate each other?” You glared at him.
“It’s a long trek to where I want to take you and Willow is the only one strong enough and determined enough to make it there and back. Frank or Wilbur would not be able to handle it.” He shrugged.
“Can Rusty handle it?” You looked down at the mare between your legs who was eyeing Spencer warily.
“Guess there’s only one way to find out.” He chuckled, but there was a nervousness to his tone.
Soon though he was meandering over towards Wilbur, ready to take him back down to the stable. And without another word you turned Rusty around again and went about helping him.
***
Medina Lake wasn’t just a trek away as Spencer had put it. It was located nearly twenty miles south of Bandera, on the other side of Lakehills. It was a crescent shaped reservoir on the Medina River, eighteen miles wide at its broadest point and contained by the Medina Dam at the lakes south end.
Spencer told you all about it as you rode together, giving Willow and Rusty enough space so as they wouldn’t cause another incident like the one that had broken Spencer’s arm.
Apparently at the time of its construction, it was the largest concrete dam in the country, and fourth largest in the world. He told you that the dam was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
As you barely spoke in reply, Spencer continued. He went on to tell you that Medina Lake had been stocked with species of fish intended to improve the reservoir for recreational fishing. He listed largemouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, catfish and carp among the species found in the lake.
But he didn’t stop there.
He continued to fill the dead air between you by telling you about the state of the lake. According to Spencer as part of the 2010 to 2013 Southern United States drought, the lake water levels dropped below five percent capacity. As a result he told you many cracks, oil drums and a Jeep are visible due to the low water level.
He continued with telling you that thanks to some showers in the summer of 2013 the lake levels had risen to five point two percent. But many businesses had been closed, many residents left and Lakehills had been somewhat of a ghost town ever since.
He still carried on, despite your obvious lack of interest. Going on to tell you with an almost excited flurry, that due to heavy rainfall in the region, as of May 2015 the levels rose to forty six percent. And again due to more heavy rain, by May 2016 the lake was at one hundred percent capacity. He went to continue but by this point you held up a silencing hand.
“I can’t, Spencer. Please? Please just stop talking for five minutes?”
He’d huffed but yet he didn’t speak again for the rest of the journey.
He took you all the way down to Bandera County Medina Lake Park. He paid the twenty dollar fee for you both to enter. He led you and Rusty down to a quiet alcove away from the flood of tourists.
He found some hitching posts where you tied up your steeds, keeping enough distance between them so they couldn’t bother one another.
Spencer couldn’t deny that his thigh was causing him aggravation by this point and his knee ached dully. You could tell by the grimace on his face that he was struggling but didn’t say anything.
As much as you hated to admit it, the place was stunning. It combined the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country with a picturesque watery wonderland. People in the distance were on the lake swimming, riding jet-skis and other boats. Some people on land had BBQ’s, picnics and the like.
Spencer led you down towards the lakes edge, still ensuring to have a clear view of your two mares at the top of the bank. He found a secluded spot, away from other lake goers so the two of you could be alone.
You took a seat on the ground, stretching your legs out in front of you and groaning a little at the chafing in your thighs from the long ride. The water was clear and the sun above caused it to sparkle. In this heat it looked positively intoxicating.
Spencer removed his denim shirt, his black t-shirt underneath marked with sweat stains under the pits and around the collar. He lowered his stetson over his eyes to keep the sun out of them.
Neither of you spoke for some time. Far off you could hear the sounds of other people splashing in the lake, laughing and having fun. Behind you could make out Rusty snuffling around in the grass.
If you focused in front of you, you could easily believe that you and Spencer were the only two people in the world. Perhaps that was why he brought you here in the first place.
After long stretches of uncomfortable silence, Spencer huffed from beside you and forced himself to speak.
“We need to talk about last night.” He saw your back straighten at his words but you didn’t even so much as look at him. “I promise you, it had nothing to do with you. I don’t even have the words to describe what it was like for me getting to be with you like that, getting to make you feel like that. But, uh, after I…completed, my thoughts went into overdrive and I panicked.
“I don’t know how to explain it other than that I’m not well. Mentally I am extremely sick. I told you last night that I need to test my boundaries, and I guess I pushed them a little farther than I was ready for. I really am sorry, Y/N. The last thing I ever wanted was to hurt you.”
The sincerity in his voice caused you to turn your head to the side and look at him. His eyes were full of uncertainty, fear and mild terror. You could see he had a heavy weight upon him and that talking about this wasn’t easy for him.
“Am I just some kind of experiment to you, Spencer? I don’t mind helping you get over whatever it is that happened to you, but if all I am to you is a test subject, please let me know before I get in over my head here.” You hated how sorry for yourself you sounded.
“You are so much more to me than that.” He frowned, shocked you would even suggest that. “But I suppose in a way, this is experimental to me. I have no idea how I’m going to react to any given situation of intimacy until I’m right in the middle of it. But please believe me when I say I would not be able to have even considered this kind of relationship with anyone else. Because of you, I’ve managed to actually maintain an erection long enough to orgasm, twice. That hasn’t happened to me in nearly four years.” His cheeks flushed in candour.
“If it offers you any kind of comfort, last night was the first time I’ve been with a man in almost two years. And it’s the first time I have ever come by someone else's hand other than my own.” Your own cheeks reddened at your confession.
“Oh,” Spencer’s voice shot up several octaves. “Oh.”
“To be perfectly honest with you Spencer, had the opportunity presented itself, I would have jumped you that first night we met. And I can’t pretend that I don’t want more out of this, but I am not going to push you if you’re not ready. I think if we are going to continue whatever this is, we just have to take things slowly. Like at a snail's pace.” You tucked your hair behind your ears, feeling perspiration gathering on your brow.
“Agreed,” he nodded. “I do want to move past this. I want to be able to give you every part of myself. It's just going to take some time.” He smiled meekly.
“I got nothing but time.” You smiled back.
Spencer chuckled a little, shuffling closer to you in the dirt. You felt your breath hitch as he got nearer.
“Would kissing you be entirely out of the question right now?” He rolled his lip between his teeth in his scepticism.
“Not entirely out of the question, no.” You shook your head.
The easiest thing to do would be to put space between you and Spencer, draw a line in the sand and remain strictly as friends. But you never did make a habit of travelling the path of least resistance.
He leaned closer, removing his stetson and dropping it down next to him. And then his hand moved to cup your cheek, fingers brushing lightly across your skin. He pressed his lips to yours cautiously at first but within a second or two he got carried away.
His tongue brushed along your bottom lip and you opened your mouth for him to gain entrance. His hand weaved into your hair, fingers burying in your locks. You kissed him back with as much passion as he showed you.
You brought your own hands to his face, holding him close. With his grip in your hair he tugged you a little, trying to convey that he needed you nearer.
Keeping your lips attached you shuffled so you were straddling him, knees resting either side of his thighs. The fingers peeking out from his cast brushed along your back, under the hem of your shirt. You moved your own hands to his shoulders to keep yourself balanced.
It wasn’t long before you lowered yourself into his lap and your hips undulated against his crotch. He moaned into your mouth and gripped your hair tighter as you felt a stirring in his pants.
He started moving backwards, bringing you with him until you were laying on top of him. But when your full weight was flush against him, he suddenly pulled away from your lips and growled in pain.
“What’s wrong?” You panted, sitting back a little as his face contorted.
“Fuck,” he groaned. “I’m sorry…I did something dumb.”
Frowning, you rolled off of him and knelt next to him while he cautiously rolled up the hem of his t-shirt to reveal the large band aid across the left side of his stomach.
“You dissociated again?” You whimpered.
“Yeah.” He nodded, rolling his shirt back down and sitting up. “And please don’t blame yourself. None of this is your fault.”
“I noticed last night you had a bandage on your thigh. Was that…?”
“Self-inflicted? Yes.” He rubbed one eye. “I’ve never hurt myself like that outside of those dissociative states. My brain is extremely fucked in many, many ways but I am not suicidal or anything like that.”
“Do you ever remember anything from those states?” You found yourself asking.
“It’s hazy.” He sighed. “And I’m not sure what’s real and what isn’t. I can recall messy pieces sometimes, but it’s not clear. It’s like I’m watching myself, like an out of body experience. I’m completely disconnected from my own mind, my own body. Its fucking terrifying. And I don’t know how to stop it.”
“You said you’d been to therapy before?” You asked softly.
“Twice.” He nodded. “Once back in DC, and once again when I moved here. Before you say anything, I am aware I need to go back. I guess I at least get to tell her the good news that my dick seems to be working again. Now we’ve just gotta focus on stopping me from having a panic attack, crying or dissociating after I come.”
You glared at him and the candid nature in which he spoke. His lip quirked at the corner and then surprisingly he started to laugh. You just stared at him dumbfounded.
“You’ve got to laugh, it’s so absurd.” He chuckled, probably the most you’d heard him laugh before. “I’m a fucking basket case, it’s okay to laugh. If I don’t laugh I’ll…”
“Dissociate?” You quipped back.
“Exactly.” He laughed harder, amused tears pricking the corners of his eyes. “Oh god I’m a mess.”
His laugh was infectious and you found yourself joining in despite yourself. It really wasn’t at all funny but sometimes you had to laugh in the face of extreme adversity or you would crumble.
The two of you sat by the lakes edge laughing until you were crying, crying until you couldn’t breathe. It wasn’t until the laughter subsided that you realised Spencer was holding your hand.
It grew quiet again and he simply stared at you, clutching your hand in his own. You reached forward tentatively with your other hand, waiting for his okay in the form of a nod before you touched him.
You gently wiped his tears from his cheeks and he hummed at your feather light caress. For a few minutes you stayed like this until you were ripped apart by the sound of content neighing from behind you.
You sprung apart as though burned and you both looked up towards your horses who had managed to manoeuvre themselves closer together.
It was hard to say who was more surprised by the sight of Willow amicably nuzzling her face against Rusty’s.
“Are they…?”
“Making friends.” Spencer nodded with a smile.
“Well I’ll be damned.” You smiled too.
“That horse of yours has some kind of magic about her.” Spencer sighed wistfully, leaning closer to you again. “Just like you.”
And when he kissed you again, you were certain that it was him and not you who was magic.
***
Doctor Camilla Ortega was a local therapist who specialised in anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD. Her practice was in Pipe Creek but she had clinic hours out of the Essential Mental Wellness centre right in Bandera town once a week.
Spencer didn’t know if he was fortunate or not that she happened to be able to fit him in the very next day.
It had been some year and a half since he last sat in her office and was overcome with anxiety just being here. He ran his fingers over his cast, back and forth, back and forth, trying to remain tethered long enough to be able to speak.
She was probably less than ten years Spencer’s senior, with sharp green eyes and a discerning stare. She had a resting bitch face if Spencer had ever seen one, but she was surprisingly soft spoken and had a contrasting calmness about her.
“It’s good to see you again, Spencer. Although I can only assume the reason you’ve come to see me again means that you’re not doing so well?” She narrowed her eyes on him.
“Not exactly, no.” He admitted.
He didn’t want to open up about this but he also didn’t want to have to be visiting her every week. The quicker he got this out, the less time he might have to spend on her couch.
“I met someone.” He blurted out, eyes trained just above her head so he didn’t have to look at her. “I met someone and she’s incredible but I can’t…I still can’t take that next step.”
Doctor Ortega was silent for a beat or two, mulling over his words briefly.
“Have you initiated any form of intimacy thus far?” She jumped right in.
“I, uh, I still can’t let her touch me and we haven’t had intercourse. But we kissed and, uh, I touched her. And I have gotten…erect. Twice. And uh, I also reached completion twice.” His cheeks and neck flushed red. God how he hated talking about this.
“Without penile stimulation?”
His face scrunched up and he nodded reluctantly.
“And how did you feel after?” She prodded.
“Well, uh, the first time I ran away and locked myself in the bathroom. The second time I ran away and locked myself in the bathroom, cried and vomited and then dissociated.” He forced the words out rapidly. “Typical stuff.”
Ortega sucked in a breath and he heard her scrawling some notes down.
“You hadn’t had a dissociative break in a while last time I saw you, isn’t that correct?”
“Yes. But I’ve had three as of late.” He spoke but then continued. “It’s not her fault. I just…I can’t allow myself to enjoy being aroused without hearing their voices.”
He didn’t need to divulge anymore than that, she knew who he meant.
“Does she know what you suffered in prison? Have you spoken to her about it?” Doctor Ortega asked gently.
“No,” He chewed on the inside of his cheek. “I can’t tell her. She wouldn’t look at me the same.”
“How do you think she would look at you if she knew?”
Spencer’s eyes flit to the doctor, his brows pinched together tightly.
“Like I’m broken.” He said as though it was obvious. “Like I’m dirty.”
Doctor Ortega put her pen down and laced her fingers together, sitting further forward in her chair.
“Spencer, that is not how other people look at you. That is how you view yourself. Unfortunately it is a common sentiment in rape survivors to feel this way, like they are of no good to anyone, unworthy of affection. I think you would be surprised how she would react if you were just honest with her.” Doctor Ortega’s eyes were piercing into him.
“I’m not telling her and that is the end of it.” He shook his head. “I just want to know how to move past this. It’s been nearly four years and I don’t feel any closer to getting over what happened to me now than I did then.”
“Spencer, that’s not true.” She offered him a soft smile. “Eighteen months ago when I last saw you, you couldn’t even go on a date with someone. But now you’ve not only met someone but you have opened yourself up to intimacy again, even if it isn’t going as you planned. I for one am proud of how far you’ve come, I think you should be too.”
“Proud?” He scoffed, rolling his eyes. “I should be proud that I can’t come without being so overwhelmed with guilt that my brain has to divorce itself just to cope? I should be proud that I managed to bring her to orgasm before I had a complete mental breakdown which ended in me cutting myself? I should be goddamn proud that I can’t have sex with a wonderful, beautiful woman because I am so utterly broken that I can stop hearing the voices, seeing the faces of my rapists? Proud? Are you fucking kidding me!” He was on his feet, he didn’t remember standing up.
The rage bubble was expanding, filling, moving higher up to his chest. His vision blurred and he wobbled on his feet.
Here we fucking go, was his last coherent thought before the world around him became shrouded in darkness.
He blinked several times, sitting up with a start. His heart was racing and his breathing was heavy. He glanced around the nondescript room through hazy eyes, trying to work out where he was.
He detected movement in the corner of his vision, a body edging closer until they were right in front of him, dropping to a crouch so their eyelines could meet. Doctor Ortega smiled sadly at Spencer as she held his gaze.
“Are you okay?” She spoke softly and then something was being placed in his hand.
He looked down to see the plastic cup of water he now held and quickly tossed it back.
“How long was I out?” He croaked despite the hydration.
“Only about ten minutes.” She pushed herself to stand but came and sat next to him on the couch. “Do you remember anything?”
“No.” He shook his head.
“You wanted to hurt yourself. You asked me several times to give you something sharp.” Ortega’s voice was a little strained. Spencer shook his head. “And you were yelling that you weren’t whole.”
“Makes sense.” He grumbled. “I found a note you had me write myself, for my guided self talk.” And then he spoke verbatim. “I was sexually assaulted, but I am not a victim. I was coerced but I am not weak. I am in control of my own body, of my own mind. I will not let them win, I will not let them ruin my life. I didn’t deserve what happened to me. I am a good person. I am a strong person. I will move past this. I won't let them break me. I am still worthy of love and affection. I am still whole. I am still whole.”
“But you don’t believe a word of it.” She stated.
“No.” He agreed. “How the fuck can I still be whole when they took such a large piece of me?”
He looked at her pleadingly as though she had all the answers. As if there was one thing she could say which would be the key to his recovery. Of course there was no such thing and he knew that. But he needed something, anything.
“They only took from you what you let them take. What those men did to you was traumatic but you are the one in control of your own reactions to that trauma. You have let them take up this space in your brain for the last four years and every time you let them win, they grow and grow. The only way you are ever going to get over what happened to you is by persevering and I know that’s not the answer you’re looking for, but it's the truth.
“I know you don’t see it but you have taken huge strides since the last time I saw you. You may keep experiencing this guilt during intimate moments but it will not last forever. I think you need to continue doing what you’re doing, putting yourself in scary situations and seeing how you react to them. Next time your experience will probably be much the same, and no doubt the time after that too.
“But eventually, and I can promise you this, eventually you will be able to push yourself further without repercussions. You will find one day you are able to give yourself over completely to this woman and what happened to you will be the furthest thing from your mind. The reason you are still struggling so much after all this time is because you couldn’t put yourself back out there. And although this seems terrifying, I can assure it is the first step towards healing. And I’m proud of you whether you like it or not.”
Spencer was crying by the time she finished speaking and he was nodding his head slowly in understanding. Perhaps she was right, perhaps now he was allowing himself to get close to someone he would eventually be able to move past this.
It might get a hell of a lot harder before it gets any better, but if he didn’t keep pushing through he would be at square one forever. Like anything in life worth having, it was going to be difficult, but for the first time he believed it might actually be possible.
“Th-thank you.” He sniffed, wiping his nose on his sleeve. “I think I needed to hear that.”
“I do believe you can get better, Spencer and I don’t think you need my help to do that. I’ve given you all the tools, you have to be willing to put in the work now.” She pushed herself up and made her way across to her desk. “That being said, I would like to up your dosage of paroxetine just a little. And I want you to make a concerted effort to remember your grounding exercises when you feel a dissociative episode coming on.”
“I’ll try.” He nodded in agreement.
A few minutes later he was leaving with a new prescription, sore eyes and a new perspective on his situation.
He found you in the driver’s seat of your car, thumbing through a book he recognised from his own collection. You closed it when the door opened and smiled softly at him.
“How did it go?” You asked as he slid into the passenger’s seat.
Spencer didn’t reply. He was too exhausted to speak. Instead he leaned across the central console and smashed his lips against yours. You gasped in surprise and he edged his tongue into your mouth.
The kiss only lasted a minute or so but it was more charged than any kiss you’d ever shared before. When he pulled back, you were looking at him in shock.
“Not that I’m complaining, but what was that for?” You chuckled a little.
“A thank you, I guess.” He shrugged. “It might not seem like it but I am making progress. And I couldn’t have done it without you.”
Your eyes welled at his sentiment and without thinking about it you reached over and grabbed his hand, giving it a firm squeeze.
And it wasn’t lost on either of you that for the first time, he didn’t flinch at your unexpected touch.
