i need ghoap frantically making out against a door finally taking the leap on their feelings. need ghost grinding against soap, expecting to find him just as hard as him, only to feel nothing
and in all his wisdom and experience, he concludes soap was tortured and never told him
he’s trying to think of a delicate way to say he understands, that he’s been through it and it doesn’t change anything about how he feels (and who the fuck touched him so he can hunt them down and rend them limb from limb)
meanwhile trans!soap’s just trying to find the best angle to grind his cunt on ghost’s thigh
just it never even entering ghost’s head bc he’s never known a trans person but he has met plenty of people who’ve been tortured - himself included - so of course that’s his logical leap

summary: in which a moment at a party that led to a drunken kiss and a heartfelt admission pushes you and your best friend away from each other. after nearly a week of silence, it’s still hard to find the right words to say to steve and to find the right way to mend what feels as if it has been permanently broken. until you’re drunk at a bar and he is the one to come and get you.

The bar was comforting in a weird kind of way. 
It was pretty dark and empty for the most part, which partly made sense since it was ten o’clock on a random Wednesday night. You didn’t mind the music softly playing and the stool you were sitting on actually felt comfortable, or maybe it was the alcohol making you believe that.
Somehow even with the number of drinks you’d had in the past hour, it still didn’t manage to effectively push your thoughts far away from Steve and what happened at Robin’s birthday party. 
You couldn’t not think about the kiss with him, which you had abruptly and drunkenly initiated; it was a kiss that felt simultaneously wrong and right. And his words that followed the kiss played on what felt like an endless loop in your mind too.
“I’ve wanted this, I’ve wanted us, for practically forever. Ever since that moment our mom’s forced us to meet at that county fair thing when we were ten, I think I knew it was you.” 
It was hard to think about what you did in response to that, but still the quick, “I’m sorry, I can’t,” you managed to stutter out before basically running away from him played on equal loop in your head.  
The two of you hadn’t spoken since that Saturday night, with you returning back to your college that was two hours away from Hawkins early the next morning. And you were unsure if it was you leading this dance or if both of you were equally avoiding each other because the phone calls that would happen practically daily were reduced to nothing. It had barely been a week, but it was long enough for everything in your life to feel shifted; to feel a little emptier. 
“You look like you need to talk to someone,” The bartender, a woman who you were certain couldn’t be older than thirty, said as she slid you the latest drink you’d ordered. 
“No, I’m fine. It’s just…” You trailed off with a small sigh before taking a sip from the cold glass. “I did something stupid this past weekend and I regret it, but I also think it might have been the right thing to do.” You were unsure if you were referring to the kissing Steve part or the running away from him part. “I don’t know, I just wish that entire night hadn’t happened, actually.”
You knew that it wasn’t solely your inebriation that made your words seem as if they didn’t make any sense, because everything going through your head was so damn confusing even when you were completely sober. None of it, the emotions you were feeling or the situation itself, fully made sense to you and you forced yourself to not think about any of it by solely consuming yourself with your schoolwork for the last few days. And when doing that was no longer enough to silence your thoughts, you decided to come to this bar. 
It was dumb and probably only making things worse, you knew that, but it also felt so much easier. 
“Okay,” The woman said. “Can I have a lot more context?” 
You were unsure why you had the immediate urge to tell her everything. Maybe it was the alcohol, or perhaps because it was just always so easy for anyone to pour their heart out to a stranger. 
“My friend— my best friend, we’ve known each other since we were ten— me and him were at a party. It was actually our other friend’s birthday and she just turned eighteen, so of course, we had to make it a huge thing for her, and we did it at Steve’s house; my best friend, that’s his name. Anyway, it’s about two hours into the party and we’re all pretty drunk. Me and Steve are in his backyard sitting on one of his old patio chairs, and then I don’t know why, I blame it on my drunkenness and how close we were in that moment, but I kissed him. I pulled away almost immediately, but then he said that he has wanted this, wanted us, to happen for so long, and I didn’t know what to say to any of that. So, I just mumbled out a stupid “I’m sorry,” and then left.”
You had barely taken a breath as you spoke, spitting out what happened that night in one rushed go. Finally saying all of it out loud— recounting the story in pretty much its entirety— made you feel a little better. Everything was still a complete mess, but you felt like you could breathe the tiniest bit easier. 
“Why did you leave?” 
A part of you expected her to ask that question, and at this point, you should’ve had an answer to it that felt certain, but you didn’t. 
“It just… It felt like the right thing to do, I think.” 
The thought of anything more happening with Steve hadn’t ever crossed your mind, at least not consciously, and even now you still refused to think more about it. Because it wasn't just about Steve. You didn’t want anything more with anyone; you didn’t want feelings, a relationship, any of it. 
It wasn’t that you hated love or the thought of it, it was more so that you had been burned because of it so many times that you refused to fall into it so easily again. Falling for boys that you thought actually liked you only to be proven wrong and left heartbroken. 
“I get it,” The bartender ultimately said, her voice soft. “You guys have been friends for practically forever and if you started dating and then broke up it would probably change everything between you two.” 
We would never break up. 
The thought hit you so abruptly that it actually managed to surprise you.  
The woman looked at you, confused. “Okay… So, then what’s the problem?”
“What?”
“You said that you and him would never break up, so what’s the problem?” 
You hadn’t realized you said the thought out loud, and you couldn’t even feel embarrassed about accidentally saying it because all you could think about was how completely true it was. You and Steve would work so well together, you pretty much already did. You knew the ins and outs of each other; everything little that was annoying but also so endearing. It was what you loved about him— as a friend and as more.  
But still, it was so fucking hard to admit that out loud, and you wanted to forget about the entire realization.
“I– I don’t know,” You finally answered before folding your arms against the countertop and then putting your head down. You squeezed your eyes shut, hoping that that action would be enough to will away the tears that you could now feel threatening to spill out.

“and i ended up here. pouring out my heart to a stranger.”

“Hey, you okay?” 
The voice was soft and immediately comforting and oh so familiar. It was enough to put a smile on your face, but your head was starting to pound so you couldn’t bear to do anything but groan.  
You lifted your head and mumbled out a soft, “Steve?”
You only vaguely remembered the bartender, whose name you eventually learned was Chelsea, asking for a phone number of someone that could pick you up. And although you should’ve given her your roommate’s number, you instead gave her Steve’s. 
“I never thought I’d be the one picking you up from a bar,” Steve said as he sat down next to you. “I always thought it would be the other way around.”
“Y’know what they say about college, it changes people,” You told him with a nonchalant shrug. The two of you hadn’t talked in days, but it still felt like second nature to fall back into the joking cadence you had with him. “I’m a total badass now.”
Steve laughed a bit and looked at you amusingly. “Mhm, yeah, sure you are.”
You weren’t as drunk anymore but you were entering the early stages of a hangover that would be a bitch, and you already knew that there was no way you’d be going to your eleven o’clock Statistics class. 
“I can’t believe you drove two hours to pick me up,” You said as you settled yourself in the passenger seat of Steve’s car after you paid your pricey tab and goodbyes were said to Chelsea.  
Steve offered you a small smile. “What else are best friends for?”
You couldn’t help but look away from him as you mumbled out a soft, “I didn’t know we were still that.”
“We’ll always be that.” 
There was so much certainty in his voice that it actually managed to soothe something inside of you. Only for a second, though, because then you were back in your head again. 
The drive back to your dorm was quiet with only the soft sounds of the radio to fill the silence. It was a short ride, only about ten minutes, and the entire time you could only focus on your dull headache and what you wanted to say to Steve because you knew that you had to say something. Although you didn’t want to, that night needed to finally be talked about.
When he was parked in front of your building, you still didn’t know exactly what to say, but you decided to start with something. “Listen, about Robin’s party–” 
“It’s okay, we don’t have to talk about it. Let’s just pretend it never happened,” Steve interrupted you. He pushed a hand through his hair and then met your gaze. “It was really dumb of me to say all of that stuff, and I partially blame it on all the drinks we had— definitely way too many. We’re just friends, I know that. And your life is here now, for the most part, and mine is back in Hawkins, so yeah…” He trailed off with a small shrug. 
You suddenly felt nauseous and you knew it had nothing to do with the alcohol. He was saying everything that you fully thought you wanted to hear— what happened at the party should’ve never happened, you two were just friends— so why did it feel so wrong? 
Things became quiet and Steve was looking at you expectantly, and you were unsure how long you’d been silent for. 
“Um, yeah, exactly,” You finally said as you unbuckled your seatbelt. Before you opened the passenger door to leave his car, you reached over and pulled Steve in for a hug. “Drive safe.”
“Thanks,” He said as his arms circled around you. 
For some reason, there was a huge part of you that wanted to say “I’m sorry” in that moment, but you didn’t entirely know why, so instead you said nothing and simply got out of his car.
You headed to the entrance of your dorm building and then turned around, giving Steve a final wave before he drove away. 
It was then— as he headed down the street and after a few moments his car became completely out of your view— that you wished you’d been honest; with yourself and with him.  
Because it was in that moment of you yearning for him to turn around mixed with you sincerely wanting to go after him that essentially sealed it for you. 
Steve was different and he always would be.

“and maybe i don't quite know what to say, but i'm here in your doorway.”

You felt slightly lucky that you only had two classes on Thursdays because when you woke up after sleeping through your Statistics class, you knew that you wouldn’t be going to your Psychology class that started at three. And the reasoning actually had nothing to do with your hangover. 
Aside from the slight headache, you woke up with your mind feeling completely clear for the first time in a long time. You knew exactly what you wanted and what you wanted to do, and before that feeling could go away, or you could convince yourself to push it away, you were in your car an hour before your class was supposed to start and driving to Hawkins. You were pretty much running off of impulse and hope.
The weather was terrible and you hated driving in the rain, but it didn’t matter to you right then because you needed to see Steve.
You had two long hours of driving in terrible rain to figure out what exactly you wanted to say to him, yet you still couldn’t form a coherent set of sentences in your head. But, similar to the rain, that didn’t stop you from ringing his doorbell. 
In hindsight, it probably would’ve been smart to bring an umbrella because it was still pouring and from the short walk from your car to his front door, your clothes managed to become effectively soaked, but it didn’t bother you. 
“Hey,” He said when he opened the door, it was easy to tell that he was surprised to see you. “Did you drive all the way here?”
You quickly nodded at his question. “Yes.”
“You hate driving in rain.” 
“Yeah, but I… I just really wanted to talk to you, and didn’t wanna do it over the phone.”
“Come inside,” Steve said, pushing the door open wider so that you could step in. 
You almost followed him but then stopped. “No, wait… I kinda just wanna say this here.” 
Steve looked at you confused, but ultimately nodded. “Okay.” He then stepped out of his house and closed the door behind him; his clothes immediately got wet. “It feels wrong that you’re the only one getting hit by the rain.” 
You laughed a bit. “Thank you. That’s very considerate.”  
Things got quiet for a second and you suddenly felt nervous, but you pushed that feeling to the side.
“I know you said that we don’t need to talk about the party and we should pretend that it never happened. And although that’s exactly what I’d been doing for the past few days, I don’t wanna do that anymore.” It actually didn’t feel too hard to let all of this out; verbalizing exactly what had been going on in your head. In a way, it felt like a relief. “I think I kissed you that night because deep down I know that it’s you too. And that it’s always been you… Which is actually so scary to think about because we’ve known each other for so long and you’re the one person in my life that has been the biggest constant. You’ve seen every part of my very horrific love life and I don’t want us to end up like any of the stupid relationships I had before, and I think that’s why I ran away that night, which I do really regret.” You pulled your eyes away from his for a second. “But, what we have is different, and I want to try. I want us to try.”
You let out a long breath. “Okay, that’s it.”  
Steve didn’t say anything for a few moments, and it was then that you realized how loud the rain was, and somehow it was actually a bit calming to hear the sounds of the heavy drops hitting the ground. 
You searched his eyes to see if you could decipher what he was thinking, but before you could get a clear read on anything, he was closing the small bit of distance between you both and reaching up to cup your face in his hands before leaning in to kiss you. 
The abruptness of the action slightly startled you, but you were completely okay with this nonverbal response to you pouring your heart out. You were kissing him back almost immediately and suddenly the sound of the rain was gone and instead all you could hear was your heartbeat pounding in your ears.
The kiss felt perfectly new but also so insanely familiar; even though this was the first time this was happening sober. And so many things were running through your mind, but it was also effectively blank and you knew you wouldn’t be able to form a coherent sentence even if you tried. 
Most of all, though, everything happening right then— the way your hands fisted themselves in his rain soaked t-shirt to pull him impossibly closer to you, and how his thumb stroked your cheek so tenderly— it all felt so certain and sure and right; there wasn’t an ounce of doubt lingering in the air around you both or lacing its way within the kiss. 
When you pulled away to catch your breath and smiled up at him, a smile that Steve immediately matched with an elated grin of his own, it slightly killed you that all of this hadn't happened sooner.

Like Rachel and Tom’s video, the first bit shows short clips of some answers, but no context as to what the questions are.
You burst out laughing. “That is absolutely not what happened and you know it!”

Josh thinks, then snaps his finger and points to you. “Lover, or Evermore.”
~
You and Josh fist-bump as you look at the camera and say “Willem Dafoe” at the same time.
~
THE INTERVIEW —
The actual video begins with you and Josh trying, and failing, to stop laughing.
“I’m sorry we’ll stop,” you promise as you attempt a serious face. “Hi Vogue, I’m Josh Andres Rivera.”
Josh looks at the camera with a straight face as he introduces himself using your name. “Today we’re here to ask and answer questions rapid-fire style! I have the first one, can you give us any spoilers for season two of House of the Dragon?”
You burst out laughing again. “That is not the first question… is it?”
Josh shrugs, “no but the people want to know.”
You look at the camera, “sorry I love my job too much, the people will have to wait. We are completely finished with the filming but I may actually get fired for revealing everything. However I will say if you thought the first season was crazy, you have no idea what’s coming. Where my character is involved, remember she doesn’t know that Lucerys is dead, or that Aemond is directly responsible. And he’d just convinced her that he would change and do better for her before he left, so you have her finding out to look forward to.”
“Not a spoiler like I hoped but I will accept your answer, and I can’t wait to see Juliette kick Aemond’s ass! Okay the real first question, what songs did we sing first when we went and did karaoke as a cast?” Josh raises his eyebrows. “Someone did their research. Oh God I honestly have no idea what the first song was. I definitely sang one too many though. Do you remember yours?”
You nod, “Style by Taylor Swift.”
“Oh yeah that’s right!” He looks at the camera, “that was the day I found out I’d be working with Taylor Swift’s number one fan.”
“The real question is do you remember what I said my favorite album of hers was?”
He thinks for a minute. “Fuck — oh sorry can we swear? You just told me the other day too!” After a few more seconds, he snaps and points to you. “Lover or Evermore right?”
You do a slow clap. “I’m impressed! At my core I am a Lover girly but right now my favorite album is evermore.”
Josh grins at the camera. “Major bff points right there. Okay my turn to ask a question. Oh I bet Rachel and Tom got asked this too. Most difficult scene to film and why?”
“Ooh that’s a good one,” you think for a moment. “Physically, for sure the big scene I have with Tom. Emotionally, I think Sejanus’ execution. Obviously because that’s an emotional thing in itself, but it was the most difficult emotionally just because of how much I had to cry. From the moment Sejanus is led to the tree, to the moment my character falls to the ground sobbing once he’s dead, it started out as tearing up and by the end I had to like I said be full on sobbing. I’m just thankful we got that scene in a few takes,” you laugh.
Josh nods, then points to you as he looks at the camera, “if you guys haven’t seen the movie yet, she’s incredible. I had a hard time with that scene but I can’t imagine how difficult it was for you. It was so cool to see the final cut.”
“If you don’t say your most difficult scene, that was so sweet I may actually cry right now, thank you!”
“Okay okay, emotionally I’d also say my characters execution. Physically, escaping from the arena with Tom. We tripped a few times, it was also hard because we had to coordinate with the actors who play the tributes to make sure they wouldn’t actually catch us.”
“What do you think Rachel and Tom said their answers were?” Someone asks off camera.
You and Josh are both quiet for another moment as you think.
“I think Rachel said the hardest scenes physically were the games because she missed stunt training in the beginning.”
Josh mimics your slow clap from earlier. “That was my exact answer too. And Tom… I think his answer emotionally was yours for physically. I know he was a little nervous to film the fight scene with you in the cabin.”
“My heart,” you put your hand over your heart and smile at the camera as if he’s right there, before turning back to Josh. “Yeah neither of us wanted to rehearse it very much since we couldn’t meet with the stunt coordinator until the day we shot the scene. He was so worried about hurting me. Okay sorry we took so long just for that one question. Describe each others characters in three words.”
“Badass because… hello that whole scene with Tom, kind because she puts everyone else before herself, and cunning. I like that she can think on her feet.” Josh sits back, satisfied with his answer.
You high-five Josh. “Nova May appreciates that. And now I definitely have to top that. Loyal. I know it’s almost to a fault but Nova May really loves that about him, congenial because I feel like it’s really easy to love Sejanus. He’s not like the others who grew up in the capital. And… sweet. He didn’t let having money get to his head.”
“Sejanus also appreciates your answers. Okay my question, name three characters from other franchises that you think would do well in the games.”
“I love this! I swear this isn’t because they’re shows I’ve worked on, they genuinely are the first characters to come to mind. Aemond Targaryen because he clearly has no problem with murder,” you laugh and look at the camera, “love you Ewan! Hmm, Paul Atriedes just because I really wanna see Timmy film the arena scenes. And Joel Miller because I am a Last of Us girly and I know he could kick ass.”
Josh nods, appreciating your answers. “I probably should’ve spent just now thinking of my answers, shit. I’ll say… King T’Challa because he’s overall just a badass and he can fight. This is also in the MCU but Kate Bishop because a bow and arrow are good for long distance kills, and then… just because I’ve been watching The Last Kingdom a lot, Uhtred Ragnarsson.”
“Who plays the best movie villain?” You ask. You and Josh look at each other and grin, having just discussed this a few days ago.
The 2 of you fist bump as you look at the camera and say “Willem Dafoe.”
“There will be no elaborating. Two words: Green Goblin. The ones who get it, just do,” you shrug, and the camera then zooms in on Josh who just nods.
Someone off camera motions for you and Josh to get to the last 2 questions.
“Advice for aspiring actors?” You ask. “I’d say don’t give up. You may get a hundred no’s, but if this is really what you want to do just keep working, keep auditioning. That one yes after a hundred no’s could be the role that changes everything.”
Josh points to you again, “I completely agree. Even if you feel like the only option is to give up, if this is your passion and genuinely what you want to do, don’t quit. You never know when your big break might come. I think I’ve got the last question. Favorite part about filming The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes? I know what she’s going to say,” he points to you and laughs. “Name starts with a T and ends with om,” he looks at the camera again. “You guys she was all heart eyes the moment they met.”
You can feel your face getting warm, but in the end you nod. “That is absolutely not what happened and you know it!” You sigh, then admit defeat. “Alright it’s true. I don’t know that Tom and I would’ve met if it weren’t for this film. Although I had already watched season one of Billy the Kid, that was released I wanna say a couple of months before I booked this movie. So I was already a fan of his.”
“And we all know my love for Dune and House of the Dragon,” a voice speaks up from behind you.
Immediately you get out of your chair and Tom pulls you into his arms, hugging you tight as he looks down at you. “Alright my love?” He asks. After a minute you return to your seat and he greets Josh.
“What are you doing here?” You ask, still surprised.
“Just thought I’d come surprise you,” he smiles. “And I sort of tricked you. That dinner meeting your agent mentioned is actually dinner with me,” Tom turns to Josh. “Rachel says she’s free if you both want to join us.”
Josh agrees and pulls out his phone, saying he’ll let Rachel know.
You swear if your heart could beat out of your chest, it would. No one has ever made you this happy.
Someone off camera asks you all to film the outro for the video.
“Thank you to Vogue for having us!” Tom stands beside your chair and puts his arm around you.
“We hope you enjoy our film, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” you smile at the camera.
“It has been in theaters for a month now but you can still catch it for a limited time,” Josh finishes.
“Bye guys!”

The boys who I think prefer writing romantic letters over romantic text messages
Malleus
Not only is he the most obvious, but he is also one of the ones who puts the most effort into every letter he writes to you.
His letters are long and detailed, his day may have been extremely boring but that won't stop him from writing to you about how much he misses you.
He uses the finest paper and ink that can be found in the Briar Valley because you deserve only the best.
His handwriting is extremely beautiful and with a lot of garigole, is the type that if you don't know how to read and write cursive it will be impossible for you to make sense of it.
He writes to you at least once a day, although you usually find at least two letters on your desk every day. If you stop receiving your daily dose of letters at least once, you should check that he is not dead because according to him that is the only reason. valid for not writing to you.
Rook
Another guy who will let you know that he loves you through the forgotten art of letters.
He goes to great lengths praising your beauty in every letter he sends you, occasionally including other people's beauty in the process.
He likes to put small gifts or photos in the envelopes, especially if in the writing he is talking about an event for which he believes visual context is needed.
All of his letters are delivered through an arrow.
He has a bad habit of sending them at different times of the day, they have arrived in class, at lunch and in the early morning. You had to talk to Vil to get him to stop it at least a little.
Riddle
He firmly believes that it is the right way to express his love, respect and admiration for you.
He doesn't have a problem with text messages, he just feels that they aren't personal enough to be able to describe his feelings.
You won't find more scented letters in all of Twisted Wonderland.
The experience of romance is complete and he refuses to skip any steps that make you understand how much he loves you.
He will give you letters at least twice a week, he would like to write to you daily but his schedule does not allow it.
He has a notebook full of drafts, he will write there before transferring it to the official letter since he is afraid of writing something too insensitive.
Jade
Romance classes on the surface are not very up to date for this eel boy.
He doesn't do it for romance, that's more than clear.
He finds it interesting to see your reactions to his letters more than the idea of expressing his love for you in them.
More than love letters, they seem like improvised expedition diaries about his trips in search of mushrooms.
If he discovers that you keep the cards along with the little drawings he makes on them, he will put more effort into his explorations, this boy likes his effort to be appreciated.
Jamil
Started because his phone broke down and he couldn't find you anywhere, his first letter wasn't even romantic, it was more of a note with a little map drawn to tell you where his date was that afternoon.
He kept doing it even when hers got his phone back because he found out you saved that first note in an album.
His letters are more of a summary of his day than anything else, but he likes the sense of intimacy they give to their relationship when he writes them.
If it's a special date like an anniversary or birthday, he will write you a short poem in his native language and send it to you by letter.
His official messenger, as ironic as it may be, is Kalim.
His letters always arrive safely to you if Kalim is the one who delivers them, our white-haired boy takes that job very seriously.
Silver
Lilia told him that it was the only official way in Briar Valley for couples to communicate.
He forgot to mention the very small detail that it is the only form of communication because in his homeland THERE ARE NO CELL PHONES.
His letters are almost always short, simple and straight to the point, he is not very good at being poetic.
However, they always come accompanied by a small bouquet of wildflowers, picked especially for you by him and his little furry friends.
He writes to you daily but always at the end of the day, if for some reason he falls asleep and forgets to write to you one day he will send you an apology letter the next morning explaining what happened.
If you're the type of person who writes back to him, he'll have all your letters in a small, locked wooden box, away from the prying eyes CofLiliaCof of his other dormmates.
Deuce
He…had the bad idea to ask Professor Trein for advice on how to be romantic.
Trein was married, right? It's obvious that he has to know a thing or two about romance, especially if he talks about how much in love he and his wife were!
Well, let's just say that Deuce does what he can in the realm of romance demonstrated through writing…
His letters tend to be somewhat abrupt, both in letter and content, he does not know how to express his feelings correctly, and he is even less successful having 3 idiots as dormmates making fun of his failed attempts.
He doesn't give up anyway and he writes to you at least 2 times a week, his letters and handwriting improve a lot with time and practice.
Riddle is very proud of him for all the effort he puts into this whole letter thing, and ends up forcing all of his students to have a mandatory calligraphy class.

Rook
Otro chico que te hará saber que te ama a través del arte olvidado de las cartas.
Se explaya demasiado alabando tu belleza en cada una de las cartas que te envía, incluyendo de vez en cuando la belleza de otras personas en el proceso.
Le gusta poner pequeños regalos o fotos en los sobres, sobre todo si en lo escrito está hablando sobre algún evento del cual él cree que se necesite contexto visual.
Todas sus cartas son entregadas a través de una flecha.
Tiene la mala costumbre de enviarlas a diferentes horas del día, te han llegado en clase, el almuerzo y en la madrugada. Tuviste que hablar con Vil para que lo detuviera al menos un poco.
Riddle
Cree firmemente que es la manera correcta de expresar su amor, respeto y admiración por ti.
No tiene ningún problema con los mensajes de texto, solo siente que no son lo suficientemente personales como para poder describir sus sentimientos.
No encontrarás cartas más perfumadas en todo Twisted Wonderland.
La experiencia del romance es completa y él se niega a saltarse algún paso que te dé a entender lo mucho que te ama.

Más que cartas de amor parecen  diarios de expedición improvisados sobre sus viajes en busca de hongos.
Si él descubre que tú guardas las cartas junto con los pequeños dibujos que hace en ellas le pondrá más empeño a sus exploraciones, a este chico le gusta que su esfuerzo sea apreciado.
Jamil
Inicio porque su teléfono se descompuso y no podía encontrarte en ningún lado, su primera carta ni siquiera fue romántica, fue más bien una nota con un pequeño mapa dibujado para decirte donde era su cita de esa tarde.
Siguió haciéndolo incluso cuando su recuperó su teléfono porque descubrió que guardaste esa primera nota en un álbum.
Sus cartas son más un resumen de su día que otra cosa, pero le gusta la sensación de intimidad que le dan a su relación cuando las escribe.
Si es una fecha especial como un aniversario o cumpleaños, él te escribirá un pequeño poema en su idioma natal y te lo enviará por carta.
Su mensajero oficial, por muy irónico que sea, es Kalim.
Sus cartas siempre llegan segura a ti si Kalim es el que las entrega, nuestro chico de cabello blanco se toma ese trabajo muy enserio.
Silver
Lilia le dijo que era la única forma oficial en el Valle de Briar para que las parejas se comunicaran.
Se le olvidó mencionar el pequeñísimo detalle de que es la única forma de comunicación porque en su tierra natal NO HAY CELULARES.
Sus cartas casi siempre son cortas, sencillas y directo al grano, no se le da muy bien eso de ser poético.
Sin embargo, siempre vienen acompañadas de un pequeño ramo de flores silvestres, recogido especialmente para ti por él y sus pequeños amigos peludos.
Te escribe a diario pero siempre al final del día, si por alguna razón se queda dormido y olvida escribirte un dia te enviará una carta de disculpa a la mañana siguiente explicando lo sucedido.
Si eres del tipo de persona que le escribe de vuelta, tendrá todas tus cartas en una pequeña caja de madera bajo llave, lejos de los ojos curiosos *CofLiliaCof* de sus demás compañeros de dormitorio.
Deuce
Él… tuvo la mala idea de preguntarle al profesor Trein por consejos de cómo ser romántico.
¿Trein estuvo casado, no? ¡Es obvio que tiene que saber una cosa o dos sobre el romance, sobre todo si habla de lo muy enamorados que estaban él y su esposa!
Bueno, solo digamos que Deuce hace lo que puede en el ámbito del romance demostrado a través de la escritura…
Sus cartas suelen ser algo bruscas, tanto en letra como en contenido, no sabe cómo expresar sus sentimientos de forma correcta, y lo logra menos teniendo a 3 idiotas como compañeros de dormitorio burlándose de sus intentos fallidos.
No se rinde de cualquier forma y te escribe al menos 2 veces por semana, sus cartas y caligrafía mejoran mucho con el tiempo y la práctica.
Riddle está muy orgulloso de él por todo el esfuerzo que pone en todo esto de las cartas, y termina obligando a todos sus estudiantes a tener una clase obligatoria de caligrafía.

It had been such a beautiful day, one that was worth encapsulating. One that could be painted a million times over and over again, and its vision would never get old. The sky was a canvas right in front of you, splashed with its earthly tones of purple and pink, and its low horizon spilled right into it with orange and yellow. You had been sitting in the field of wheat as you watched it, ogling at clusters of clouds dancing in the center of the troposphere. You were sprawled out against the dampened soil, your legs and your arms tickled by the soft straws of wheat, it was nothing but perfect. Everything was perfect. You wanted to drink up every last second of it. The rich smell of the fields, the beautiful view, and the sound of serenity. All of it.
“Hey! You okay out there?”, a sudden shout is heard from your house in the distance, and you peek your head up in response. Ellie is standing on the front porch, her arms crossed and her firm stance telling you that she’s feeling impatient. You chuckle to yourself lightly at the view, your hand lurching forward to grip the handle of your flower basket. “Yeah! Just a moment, I’m heading back inside!” you yell back as you stand up from the Earth, quickly dusting the crumbs of dirt and muck off the material of your jeans. Ellie stands there silently as she observes your approaching presence, a wave of relief casting over her worried features
“Okay, well…be quick, I miss you”, she then replies, and you almost want to laugh at her last demand, watching her fade away as she disappears back in the house. ‘Miss me? All I did was walk outside for a couple of minutes’ is what you wanted to say back, a defeated smile placed on your lips. Ellie was infamous for saying that to you anyways. ‘I miss you’. A repeated phrase she took much pride in telling you. ‘I miss you. I miss you. I miss you’, ever since you had moved onto this farm with Ellie. It seemed like she became more needy for your presence, and this was the one thing that confirmed it.
You follow after your lover inside, the old wooden door squeaking on its hinges as it shuts behind your form. The record player is spinning a selected vinyl in the back faintly, and you sway in amusement as you shuffle toward the dining room table, a grin plastered on your face. “You’re playing my favorite album”, you say contently, placing your basket in the center of the table. You reach inside to bundle up a litter of brown stems, examining your collection.
Purple Lupine wildflowers. You had freshly picked them from the forest, their aroma resembling something delicate and floral, and their small petals smooth and harmless against the curve of your fingertips. You had once read somewhere that they were a symbolization of imagination, and happiness. In a way, they reminded you of Ellie. They were beautiful and full of life, and so was she.
“I know” your beloved hums in response, your peripheral catching sight of her standing in the kitchen. “What’d you get?” she asks as she watches you group together the array of purple in your gentle palms, a curious glint forming in the black of her pupils. “Lupine flowers, they reminded me of you”, you grab the empty vase that is sitting on the table and slip your wild “bouquet” into it, not noticing the smug grin that forms onto Ellies face.
“Why’s that?” another question is formulated from her lips, and you giggle to yourself, your hands cautiously lifting your glass of flowers before you turn to approach your girlfriend-who is now staring at you from the sink, her hands tightly gripping the edge of the marble. “It’s a secret”, you tease as you place the vase amongst the cool surface of the countertop, your eyes shifting to connect with hers. Her eyebrows are furrowed, and her lips are curved upward enough to be considered a smirk. You love when she’s like this. Lovingly irritated.
You reach forward to press your lips against her cheek, your arms snaring around her neck and resting atop her white t-shirt, feeling the strands of auburn hair that naturally sat along the slope of her nape. A new track on the vinyl is being spun, one that’s romantic and swell, and you can’t help but recognize the adoration that seeps off the woman in your arms. How she melts into your touch, or how she’s too shy to admit she wants more than just a peck on her cheek.
Her smile is rich, and her eyes are squinted as the apples of her cheeks are lifted and tinted such a pretty rose. “You took so long” she breathes, and it’s just now that you notice her hands found themselves purchased atop the lining of your jeans, “I really did miss you”. She squeezes the skin on your waist, her touch feeling more suggestive than it usually did. Her tone thick and wisped with desire.
“Ellie, I was only gone for like- what? Thirty minutes?”, you giggle as you shake your head at her, trying to brush away the sensation of her fingers kneading into the flesh of your lower back, just above the swell of your rear. “More like an hour”, she corrects you, and you find yourself slipping out of Ellies hold before she tempts you with her hands more than she already had. Not now, you tell yourself. Not right now.
“I didn’t realize, I’m sorry, love”, your hands intertwine with hers, fingers interlocking into each other, “it won’t happen next time, okay?”.
With a roll of her eyes, all she does is nod sweetly, and with a tug of her hands against yours, she reels you back into the warmth of her body. You two sway to the music, laughs boisterous and sweet as your bodies cling to one another. Desire obvious but forcibly concealed as the dusk slips into darkness.

The night is tranquil as you slip away, shrugging Ellie’s hands off your figure with gentle nudges. Her face lay peacefully amongst her pillow, her slow inhales of air proving she’s fallen asleep, and her nose scrunching slightly, initiating her blissful state. The clock on your nightstand reads ‘3:24 am’, and you sigh as you sit against the edge of the bed, taking a few moments to think before you trail out of the room and into the dining room. You shiver while passing every open window, watching the wind disarray the cotton curtains, their sheets rising and falling with every blow.
It’s practically intimidating as you move alongside the walls covered in memoirs of you and Ellie, her portraits of only you plastered against the white walls and- what you imagine- stay forever staring at you. You swallow it all in, remembering her sitting upon her wooden stool, a palette set in her hand as she paints you on a canvas for what feels like the millionth time. It was a good memory, but it was also one that distressed you.
“I missed you”. Her words of desperation are flooding you as you enter the kitchen, and you reinvent the scene of you two dancing earlier in the evening. Her nails digging into the curve of your waist…her teeth just barely grazing against your neck. The way you both had just pretended to revel in the music, and most definitely not in the touch of one another.
You’re trying to piece the puzzle together. The way she refuses to admire anything else but you. The way she gets whiny when you distance yourself for too long. The way she caresses your skin with a burning touch, like she wants to devour you any chance she gets. Its embarrassingly comedic, because at the end of it all, she acts humorous. A simple grin that sits on her features, acting cocky, as if she’s nonchalant and none of it ever happened. As if she hasn’t been hot on your back all day, and now you can’t find it in you to sleep properly.
You take a quick breath before deeply exhaling, realizing this just might be your first moment in months where your lover is not wrapping around you. Might. It was silent, too silent. You had not recognized the sneaking footsteps that trailed behind yours.
“Hey”, you hear Ellie speak up just behind you, her voice thick and groggy, “what’s wrong?”. You turn in a panic, watching her take slow steps toward you, her eyes squinted, and her lips pruned from her rest. Moonlight is cast through the glass of the windows, speckles of dust just barely noticeable within it as they float diligently in the air. The light is falling upon Ellie, like she’s a star in the middle of a darkened night sky, and you find yourself more shocked from her angelic aura than her sudden presence.
“I’m sorry…did I wake you?” you watch as she adjusts the sleeves of her shirt, rolling the white cuffs up the length of her arm, the inken design of ferns apparent on her fair skin. You want to admire her right now, her glow untouched even under the dim light of your shared home.
The way her reddish hair was disheveled and drawn over her face, her eyes resembling gems as they follow your every move with a glimmer. Her legs are bare, silken grey shorts clad against her lean thighs, and you swallow the lump in your throat to conceal the wanton urges you have, to feel her muscles contract against you. She is a flower. Appearing innocent while she draws closer to you-who is leaning tiredly against the kitchen counter. What a remarkable hoax.
“Yeah, I noticed you left, everything alright?”, her arms are now crossed, and her head is tilted as she inquires you, a wondrous look imbedded on her face. You can’t deny your selfish thoughts, the urge to shake her and tell her she’s the primary reason you cannot rest. That you’re worried about her, and not just for the subtle hints earlier today. Instead, for her attachment to you every day, her hyper fixation on your every dotting thought or simple step. At the same time, why is it you who feels this way? Your selfish desire to feel her desecrate your skin. To completely ruin you.
You’re breathless, wordless, speechless, and wrecked with lewd wishes. You stand there in front of her, mouth agape, and no words spoken, and she just stares, confused as to why you won’t respond.
“Babe-”
“Right now…”, you cut her sentence off short, having the audacity to finally utter a word, “Ellie, I need you right now, please”. Your plea is everything but confident, your voice meek and shy while you beg, and almost immediately after saying it you begin to regret it. But there she stands, arms still crossed and her features still appearing shocked. Only this time, she’s taken aback from your undeniable want, sexual urgency just dripping off you. Then there it is, a cocky chuckle sounding from her grinning lips.
“I thought you said you weren’t in the mood earlier”, she snickers at you, obviously smug and acting full of herself, her gaze peeling the clothes off your body by each passing second. “I know, but-“, you start, goosebumps imprinting themselves on your skin, “I just-”. You keep your mouth open to initiate a reasoning, barely processing what to say next before two hands clutch themselves onto your waist, pushing you back roughly until your back bumps against the counter.
She silences your silly panic as her lips seal around yours, molding into your face until her nose is bending into the flesh of your cheek. She’s kissing you like she’s been starved, tongue whirling across your lips until her spit is mixed into yours, creating a lewd concoction off the tips of your tastebuds. It’s delicious, and it’s absolutely vulgar the way she is ravaging your mouth, her canine snagging your bottom lip in between every moist smack, and then she’s licking you up again, her lips not giving you any chance to escape.
“Ellie” you gasp, a dribble of translucent spittle webbing onto your lower chin. You had almost forgotten to breathe. She wantonly groans against you, shutting your pleading mouth once more as she moves her face against yours, catching angles where she can explore you the deepest. Her hands waste no time defiling you, rolling across your hips until they greet the skin of your ass, clutching you through the silk of your nightgown and holding the flesh there with a tenacious grip.
“Ellie!” you pry your lips away from hers, but she chases after you again. “Fuck, wait”, your chest is heaving with every gasp of breath, “too much”. OnlyOneOf "give me the lOve, bitxx" Lyrical and Thematic Analysis
OK, so, I have a lot of thoughts about this one! I think that there are several ways to interpret it! So some notes before you start reading:
I am looking at this through a queer lens, if you want to do a non queer reading, good for you, that's not what I'm discussing here
Some of my interpretations are going to go multiple potential ways, and this isn't an essay I'm writing for school or actual publication, so I may leave some trailing thoughts or slightly stream of consciousness style explanations
I am fascinated by the lyrical structure of this song, so bear with the fact that I'm going to babble about that a bit before I dive into the details of lyrics/meanings.

I would love to hear other people's thoughts on this song! It's fascinating to me, and I think that it's a really important part of the lyrical story of the album as a whole!
This is about to get really long, so the rest is under the cut:
SONG/LYRICAL STRUCTURE
So, I'm going to start out with talking about the construction of this song because I think that it's really interesting! We start and end the song with the chorus, and it repeats a total of 4 times within the song. That chorus takes up about half of the entire song! It's important and we should be paying attention to it.
We also have a 2 part Prechorus that repeats twice (before the 2nd and 3rd version of the Chorus) with the very first line of it changed each time. This is interesting in part because that's more repeated lyrics taking up a lot of the song, but that also points to that changed starting lyric as being super important!
Then we have our three other Verses: Verse 1 is short (only 4 lines), Verse 2 is longer with some rap and builds up to the development, and Verse 3 acts as the Bridge into the final chorus and has a really different sound to it. Verse 3/Bridge is also quite short (only 4 lines). So little of the total song is in these storytelling verses, but a lot happens!
THEMATIC CONNECTIONS
I will talk about more of these later, after I dig into the lyrics more specifically, but I want to reference a few songs that I will bring up in thinking about this one.
First off is actually one of their covers, KB and Junji's cover of "Heather":

While this song is a very different angle, like "give me the lOve, bitxx" I feel like it deals with the issues with dealing with being queer in a society that does not want you to be, and how that can build resentment. OnlyOneOf is very thoughtful in how they pick their covers, especially the ones that they make fancy videos for, so I think that they are a lens that we can think about their own discography from. This was actually one of the things that I thought of right away when I got the full lyrics for "give me the lOve, bitxx" so it's worth having it in mind when reading the rest of my analysis.
Another older song of theirs with an MV that I want us to look back at for the context of this song is "angel":

I am considering this song specifically as a lens of how heteronormativity creates a narrative of how people need to react/act in society, and how that can lead to overcompensation, and also sometimes some pretty obsessive patterns (doing relationships right, having the right appearance of interest even if there is not actual interest). Obviously, "angel" is a song with many different interpretations, and I've considered writing something longer form about it, but again, remember that right now, this is a reading through the queer lens. This is a song and MV that I've got in my head as context for "give me the lOve, bitxx" so I want to make sure it's fresh for you as well.
Important note to carry with you in this echo of "angel" in the interpretation: In "angel" the narrator has idealized the idea of this girl, of the perfect straight relationship that will make him fit in society (again I know, among other things). In "give me the lOve, bitxx" he has that relationship, and it hasn't fixed things for him. He still doesn't fit, and in fact kind of seems to feel even worse.
I think that there are themes present in a lot of their songs that are echoed here, but those are the two big lenses that I wanted to bring up before we get into the thick of things.
OTHER OVERARCHING THEMATIC THOUGHTS
We're almost to talking about the lyrics, I promise. But there's a big thing that I want to discuss here that leads to two very different readings of the song.
I think that one possible reading of this song involves the narrator addressing two separate love interests: a guy who he has had his first taste of queer attraction and love with recently and the girl who he has been dating in an attempt to feel "correct" in society.
I will be addressing this potential second person I think getting talked to in a few places in the song, but also try to reference what I think the interpretation would be if these parts are addressed to the girl or not.
THE CHORUS
Don't make me pull the trigger [girl*] Once you know more you'll get hurt Don't come near Maybe I could be dangerous Give me your treasure [what] What's there to laugh at? Oh I can't hear anything right now, freeze
*I have added the two adlibbed words that I caught from what the translation above has transcribed in brackets. However, the first adlib "girl" only appears in Choruses 1-3 and is omitted in the final Chorus.
These lyrics are aggressive, and kind of nasty towards the girl. They are reminiscent of a hold up, an attack, but also a threat to end a relationship ("pulling the trigger" on something to end it). Whatever the case, there is some threat involved in these lyrics. The narrator views himself, or on some level wants to be viewed, as "dangerous." He also seems to want the end to the current relationship, at the same time, he wants to just ignore everything and have things stay where they are and "freeze."
He doesn't think he's good for the girl, he doesn't really think that he's good for himself here. There's a certain amount of hopelessness in this chorus. He's got this whole persona, this "bad boy" image too, and that definitely makes me think of overcompensation. A lot of times, queer people will make the decision to lean really far into heteronormativity to protect themselves, and this bad boy vibe that the narrator has going definitely leads into that.
I think that it is really interesting that the "girl" adlib drops for the final chorus. If the male partner is also being addressed, by dropping the girl from the chorus at the end, it can also be interpreted that what is bringing up these feelings of needing to end the conventional heteronormative relationship is the new relationship with the male partner that has made the narrator realize that this current relationship is creating something dangerous for him, and he can't get the love that he wants in it (and that he actually does want love that is not socially expected/accepted).
THE PRECHORUSES
The first line of the prechorus is the only line that changes between the two. In the first prechorus it is:
It kind of bothers me.
And in the second prechorus it is:
It feels kind of weird.
I think that this change in the lyrics is leading into the feeling that the narrator is figuring out what he wants over the course of the song. It's changed from being something annoying without really having a clear direction of that, to feeling weird or uncomfortable to what the narrator wants.
I've divided the prechorus into two parts in my mind at least. After that first line, the rest of the prechorus goes:
What the hell do you want from me baby? Foreign personality, style Somehow I'm injurious, so dangerous.
I feel like this really draws in the idea of the narrator feeling like he doesn't fit the expectations of society and how he should behave in it. He doesn't know what his partner wants from him, he feels "foreign" and "injurious" in his roles and interactions.
This version of him talking about being "dangerous" also feels much more confused, like he's been told that the way he is would make him "dangerous." That word "Somehow" carries a lot of weight in this. He feels conflicted about it.
We follow this into the second half of the prechorus, which is unchanged between the two:
When you hug me tight from behind I feel broken, I can't explain it Love Don't come near, no way
This set of lines actually really interests me because I feel like it could be absolutely addressed to both or either of the girlfriend and the male partner.
One of those big queer experiences that a lot of us have been through is feeling broken and wanting to hide from it. In the narrator's heteronormative relationship that should make him fit, he's not enjoying these experiences and doesn't want them, and that makes him "feel broken."
But at the same time, if addressed to the male partner, when he experiences these sorts of things, he does enjoy them, and that potentially scares him just as much. He doesn't want to let the male partner near because that experience feeling right makes him "feel broken" by society that has said that it's not an OK way for him to feel.
So either here, he's telling the girl he's been dating as overcompensation to get away from him and leave him alone because he's not feeling it, or he's telling the guy that he's into and struggling against the feeling to stay away because the very possibility of that makes him feel weird and scared and he doesn't know what to do with it.
VERSE 1
This is the verse that gave me the idea of the song being addressed to two different people! It's actually the set of lyrics that initially made me think, oh huh, this sounds like it might be addressed to the guy that he's been thinking of. Especially in the narrative succession to "dOpamine" where he's got some obsession going on. I think that it can be read as addressed to either though.
I think of your face all day long I look strange to myself I can't think about anything else Why do you keep getting stuck in my head?
If this is addressed to the male love interest, it makes a lot of sense that the narrator is sitting there going: I have this "perfect" in the eyes of society relationship, one that I should be so happy with, but all I can think about is this guy that I'm into. Why can't I leave it alone?
On the other hand, if this is addressed to the girlfriend, it can also read as trying to force himself into the right way of thinking about his relationship. And because of it looking "strange" (weird, uncomfortable, not right) to himself. He's getting "stuck" on this idea, and not getting anywhere with it. He can't get that sort of love he wants in the relationship he has, and he's uncomfortable with that.
VERSE 2 (the long verse)
Like with the prechorus, I see this as being divided into two parts. This verse is rap heavier, and it really feels like a lot of the development of the feelings and understanding of his feelings that the narrator has.
Why are you so clingy anytime I see you? I'm speaking, but you cover my mouth Yeah, because of you Again, seeing my sudden bewildered expression makes her stop her words
This is actually another section that I think can be addressed to either partner! And maybe the "her" in the final line of this part of the verse is a translation artifact that I'm reading too much into, but it does make me think, is "her" different from "you" here.
If this is addressed to the girlfriend, it reads as really just not actually wanting the relationship, as feeling silenced from his actual feelings by the demands of society represented in the girlfriend and the fact that he feels the need to have a girlfriend to compensate, and that's starting to really grate on him now that he has seen/experienced another option. It implies that the girlfriend is starting to see the cracks in their relationship and know that something is wrong, maybe she's even trying to make space for him to say something, and he's not saying it.
If this is addressed to the male love interest, it's a really different vibe. It's the questions of: Why are you risking showing this in public? Why are you stopping me from talking? Why are you both showing this so much and trying to keep me from actually talking about it? In this reading, the girlfriend is noticing whatever is going on between the narrator and the male love interest, but maybe doesn't know what to say about it or if there is anything to say.
The second part of this verse is much more focused on the internal feelings of the narrator as opposed to the interaction with others.
I hide my feelings, thinking of each other I close my eyes Well I gotta play dumb, making it pump, sick of it numb, pick up the phone Relax now (Boogie on and boogie on)
So this part of the song is definitely at least in part about sex and intimacy between partners. Who is the "each other" here? Well, I think that it can be the narrator and the girlfriend, where he's closing his eyes to hide from himself and his lack of actual interest. It could also be the male love interest where he's closing his eyes when with the girlfriend to better imagine what he actually wants and his fighting himself over.
I find the part "pick up the phone" really interesting. He's having this unfulfilling experience in the relationship that he's supposed to want, the one that is supposed to be perfect for him in the eyes of society, so he's reaching for his virtual world that lets him get away from that (and where I suspect he can contact the male love interest, or at least see things about him). He's relaxing by getting away from what is supposed to be his important intimate relationship.
VERSE 3 / BRIDGE
There is a big change in tone with this verse, and I think that this is where the narrator accepts what he is feeling, and that he doesn't actually want to be with the girl, he doesn't want what society thinks that he should want. He's still conflicted and scared, actually maybe more scared, but he's starting to realize. I think that that's part of why the "girl" adlib then proceeds to be dropped in the final chorus that comes after it.
Tasty like a raindrop, oh my I can't get used to it at all You know what? Actually I'm afraid you will leave Give me a chance to kill my doubt
I think that the first half of this verse is referring to his experience of queer intimacy with male love interest, the first time he's actually enjoyed it, and referring back to "dOpamine" that "thirst" that he's experiencing (with the "raindrop" lyric).
The second half is another one of those things where it could be addressed to either the girlfriend or the male love interest.
If it's addressed to the girlfriend, even though he's realized what he actually wants, the fact that it goes against the directives of society, and what he feels like he should want, he just wants that one more chance to see if maybe it could work with the girlfriend, that he is scared of what is past this relationship that isn't fulfilling but is at least safe.
If it's addressed to the male love interest, I get the impression that there's an element of the male love interest having basically said "look make a decision," and the narrator has been hesitating. Not feeling safe. And now he's saying, wait I'm more afraid of the idea of not having a chance with you and something that actually feels right than I am of leaving my safe by social standards relationship. Give me one last chance to taste this possibility and make myself sure before I jump into this relationship that feels dangerous but fulfilling.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Whoever the song is addressed to ("you"), the narrator has very much built up feelings of resentment towards social expectations and the girlfriend that he has put those social expectations on.
He's sort of billed himself as dangerous because of how society views what he has realized about himself. He knows he isn't being good to himself, he's not being good to the girlfriend, he's hurting everything in his path because social expectations are weighing down on him and telling him he's awful and hurting him.
A big part of the song is him kind of breaking under that, realizing that he can't keep going the way he is going, but struggling to make that final decision to leave and actually face his queerness and the possibilities that exist in it.

When Rollo opened the album, he was immediately struck with a sense of unease.
The inside of the hefty volume yielded photograph after photograph of him, frozen in various parts of his day: in lectures, making purchases in town, watering plants, briskly strolling down hallways lined with stained glass windows. More alarmingly, there were also snapshots of his most intimate and private of moments: tending to the gargoyles and the Bell of Salvation, scrawling away in his journal, and…
Him, asleep in a plush armchair. The book he had been reading had tumbled into his lap. Rollo slouched to one side in the picture, head lolled forward. His short silver bangs shadowed his lashes, the mouth perpetually obscured or frowning now pert and wistful.
He almost appeared angelic, at peace with both himself and the world.
A spike of anger shot through Rollo, eyes flashed with disgust and a dangerous intent. He slammed the album shut.
“Hah!” He barked out a laugh, terse and bitter—like the bite of a pill swallowed.
Not a good sign to start with.
“Certainly not if you pull stunts that cross the boundaries of privacy like this,” Rollo snarled. “This warrants a restraining order.”
You blinked, oblivious to his upset. “Wait, what? Why?”
“You took pictures of me without my consent,” he stated frostily. “Half of these are taken in private quarters. How did you even conceal yourself in these locations, let alone get access to them?!”
"I picked up some photography tips and tricks from Rook-senpai," you said proudly (a little too proudly, if you asked Rollo). “Neat, right?”
Rollo shivered at the thought—of you creeping right behind, camera in hand and lens aimed at him. Hunched over in dark corners or peeking out from crevices, like a gremlin lying in wait to strike when he least suspected it. No safety, no security.
Only the pair of eyes on him.
Watching.
Judging.
“Absolutely NOT neat,” he spat out. “You think too highly of yourself—and you’re truly foolish if you think I would wish to associate with an individual who lacks basic respect for others and their personal space. The gall to gift such an abhorrent item as well… You have no shame!!
“I implore you to consider the teachings of common sense rather than those of… questionable peers—and refrain from engaging in further instances of this,” he instructed, waving the album in your face. “Lastly, you will purge all records and copies of these photographs you may have on hand.
“Is that clear? Yes?” He didn’t wait for you. “Good. I’m glad we understand each other. If you will excuse me then.”
“Where are you going?” you called out to him, confused. He had taken the album with him as he stormed into the hallway.
His answer came without him even turning to face you.
“Somewhere to burn this.”

feeling a little bit grim about the state of the world and long-tail reporting/continuity of knowledge, partially bc some friends got fired from the games industry and are throwing in the towel (do not blame them at ALL, also now this means i don't know anyone in the industry with more than three years of experience under their belt) and partially feeling a little bit grim bc i read an article FOREVER ago from the old motherboard team at VICE about how locations were being harvested from various religious and health apps, and FINALLY that data broker is starting to see some real consequences. the ONLY reason this reporter is still following this story/is still a reporter is bc after VICE summarily fired like half the site last year, he went off and started his own site.

“sail forth” by developer Quantum Astrophysicists Guild and published by Festive Vector (pair of really killer names there) is the free epic game this week. i spent a reasonably okay hour with it but do not plan to continue further. the opening area has some problems that do not interest me in whatever this game does in the next area. tldr: the actual sailing part is fun, which is good bc it's a sailing game, but there isn't enough to Do in this adventure/exploration game and it's all really far apart.

it has a particular sensibility married with its art style that makes me say “cozy game” (derogatory). your main character is named captain toot. everyone has funky sentence structure liberally sprinkled with nautical terms that come off vaguely nonsensical instead of piratical. there are a lot of almost-kennings like “deepblue” “moontiders” “fishfolk”. things of this nature. while i do love a kenning i don’t have a lot of patience for this. which is unfortunate bc this game tested my patience in several ways.

the actual Sailing part is the best part of the game. there's some very fun weather-- i have seen light and heavy fog, light and heavy rain, and a full on thunderstorm. the fact that sailing is the best part of the game would be good except everything is VERY far apart, and while the call of a blank horizon is super important in an oceangoing game (i think) when it becomes more fun to just fast travel everywhere instead of sailing the long way, i think that’s where you have to refine some things in your game. this is less of an open world and more little pockets of things in between a truly ridiculous amount of empty space. i cannot imagine this runs in an acceptable manner on switch.

the good parts of sailing are the thoughtful controls: the compass, the wind on the compass, and the little sail trim bar. you should also keep an eye on wave direction bc that will really impact your top speed. you CAN tack back and forth directly into the wind but this game will make you fucking work for it, which i do like. i also liked sailing with the camera zoomed all the way in, it felt very fast and dangerous on the very long wait to get to the next island. and then it was no longer fun on the very long sail to get to the next island. i am almost confident these islands are procgen, it’s possible i got a weirdly big seed but i don’t care enough to fire up a new save.
the general pace of the game/this first area feels a little underbaked or weirdly optimized. i got enough wood in the first hour to upgrade to the best available one-mast sloop, i fought a pirate which required a lot of precision seamanship with my one lonely bow gun, i did a race, i declined a target practice course, i poked my head into eight different map locations. despite this variety, it all felt very samey. generally the map locations have one or two things to do plus one resource (the precision seamanship required to collect resources is fun for the first two islands but then stops being interesting) or one collectible. no one island is particularly memorable. i really loved Sunless Sea, a game that also features a large map and very slow travel, but there’s a WAY more resource management and random events, and shit is simply closer together in that game.
if i was looking for a very slow podcast game and was 20% cutesier as a person this would be ideal, but for who i am right now? not for me.

phil went to the emergency vet sunday afternoon bc her spay site was looking Gnarly. she either has an infection or a reaction to her sutures but the treatment is the same either way. the emergency vet said we could probably skip our normal vet visit on friday but, given that we discover a new problem every time we go to the vet, we will be keeping that appointment. all recent pics of her are smushed up on my lap at a goofy angle. have a pic of mackaroni and beans

being a super famous popstar and writing an album about luke or jack
i wrote this as reader in an interview about a week after dropping the album
“so this album is packed full of love songs… is there a certain someone they’re about?” you smiled, reaching up to play with the necklace you wore.
“yeah, actually. i started writing songs about our relationship around the time that i was finishing up my last album but it was still so new that i decided to leave them for myself for a bit. and they didn’t really fit the vibe of my last album. then i got back in the studio and i was working on this albums and originally, i was taking it in a whole different direction.”
“so what changed your mind? why did you decided to completely flip the switch?”
“to be honest, it seemed like the only thing i could write was love songs. i actually ended up moving in with the person i was writing about and being around him so much was just so inspiring.”
“now, i’ve done my research, and i listened to the whole album since it was released last week. you haven’t confirmed a relationship with anyone specific but you’ve dropped a lot of context clues in your songs.”
“oh yeah, there’s definitely been a lot of speculation about me having a boyfriend lately but if you really listen to the songs it’s so painfully obvious who i’m writing about.”
“can i name some that i noticed?” you nodded, giving her a smile and a motion telling her to go ahead. “so i just did a quick listen but in our song movin’ on, you talk about moving in with your boyfriend and mention that you’re in jersey.” you nod. “in lucky number you say that 43 must be your lucky number.”
“those two alone might be enough to figure it out, honestly.”
“but i picked up a third thing which i really think gives it away. i won’t point it out, because i know some fans love to put the pieces together themselves, but i’ll give a hint. you should definitely be looking in the lyrics of eyes of a devil.” you smiled, giving he interviewer a wink to show that she figured it out.
“that’s definitely some good advice.”
“did you show the songs to this special someone before they were released?”
“i did. at first i was scared to show him just because i had written so many but once i realized that i really wanted to use music tell everyone how i felt about him, i knew i wanted his input on what was included on the album. i let him look at all of my mostly finished products and he helped me pick some that he liked, and i picked a few more that he didn’t say anything about but i could tell he liked. eyes of a devil was definitely one of those considering it is a little bit different from the rest lyric-wise. once i had everything recorded and the track list together, i played it for him and asked if he was okay with me releasing that as my album. he’s a very private person so i wanted to make sure that he was okay with people essentially knowing that we were together.”
“so not only did he hear the album…”
“he had a big say in it. if he would’ve told me not to release it, or that he didn’t want anyone to know about us being together, the album would look a lot different.”
“well let’s hope the next one isn’t full of angsty break up songs,” she joked, and you let out a slight laugh.
“oh yeah. i don’t know that i could handle having a whole album of love songs to sing if i wasn’t with him anymore. but it was definitely a well thought out decision and i feel secure enough in our relationship to say that i don’t think there will be any break up songs written about him.”
“in time of my life you said you’ve been together four years, right?”
“i did. it’s closer to five now, i wrote that actually about a year ago because it wasn’t quite four but that sounded better than three,” you laughed and the interviewer joined in.
“well it’s been such a pleasure talking to you and hopefully we get to meet again sometime in the future!”
“yes, i’ve had such a good time!” the interviewer turned to talk directly to the camera to end the interview.
“make sure you guys go listen to y/n’s new album all my love is yours and let us know who you think she’s writing about!”

GARAGES SONGS ASSIGNED TO FANTASY HIGH CHARACTERS (AND SOME OTHER STUFF)
For context, the garages were a band who wrote songs based off a game called blaseball, mainly rock but not confined directly too it. I am assigning some of their songs to fantasy high characters for the very small subset of people who are interested a.k.a mainly me. Most of these are based off season 1 but there is influence from the others. 👍

-Pyschoacoustics: Very loud but also kinda team based! (The bigger the garage/ the better the sound/ we’re just so glad you came around)
- Vanessa tables, the cheesiest love song ever. I can totally imagine fig singing this.
- ALBUMS: either Underground (its heavy metal) or Short circuit (psychoacoustics esque, it’s so loud!!!)
- CHARACTERS THEY WOULD LOVE? Probably Betsy Trombone or Allison Abbot. Or Jaylen HotdogFingers. Big Garages Fan probably.
ADAINE
- so mediocre, it’s about not being good enough and being told your not good enough. Yeouch.
-Sidelined, same album same reason but this one ends happier cause people do believe in them :)
- the entire Kansas City breath mints team failed the bar exam,
- won’t strike out, it’s about a frog kicking ass. For everyone who doesn’t know blaseball google chorby short right now.
- ALBUMS: either unstable (the first two songs are from it) or, while not a album, The Mike Townsend Trilogy because she would one hundred percent understand the looked down on for not being good enough vibe.
- CHARACTERS THEYD LOVE? Mike Townsend, Chorby Short, maybe Sebastion Telephone cause underperforming sibling vibes. I can see her being a big Hawaii Fridays fan or more accurately Yellowstone Magics
KRISTEN
- And I mean all gods, the first line is “I need to email god because I have some issues”. Kristen would say that, 100%.
- solar eclipse, this one’s a little bit of everyone but it feels especially Kristen because of the direct callouts to god in it. She’d very much understand this one I think.
- ALBUMS weirdly enough, no clue. She would probably like the garages kill gods cause of the title and maybe pathetic/spineless cause repressed rage.
CHARACTERS THEYD LOVE? Most of the like goofy ones I think. She’d see pitching machine (a player who is an actual honest to god pitching machine) and start cheering. She would actually maybe enjoy the monitor who is a god but is also a pushover and eventually anticapitalist. Shed like Randall Marijuana if only cause he’s called “Randy weed” She’d also be a big Fridays person but I can see her being a Hellmouth Fan.
RIZ
- operation plasma (swing and a miss) it’s a song by the spies about how they want a spy to bring them stuff, riz core.
- beautiful day, I don’t know why I can very much see riz in this, half of it cause shit canonically hits the fan even harder after beautiful day.
- the unremarkable ballad of Derrick Krueger, I can’t explain this one but I think it does have slight riz vibes of like overlooked underdog at the beginning of season 1
- Albums, be my valentine cause some of the songs are very sweet and a decent amount are not even romantic in like partner partner way or percolate or lofi hip-hop brews to kill siesta/kill gods to.
- Players he’d love? Parker McMillan, he’d love the insane complexity of trying to piece them together and like interrogating their socials. He’d be a big Houston Spies fan as well, no surprise, but he’d also be a data witch or something similar on the side, just digging round in the code.
EDIT: he would also love one of my fav players, Evelton mcblase 2, a trans mad scientist who is evil and also occasionally a eel.
GORGUG
- heart full of love mouth full of blood, it’s a little romantic but also about killing to protect your friends
- Mike Townsend is back, I can see him vibing to this, especially with the goofy “I learned how to solo!!!” Part
- hurt people, it’s about desperately not wanting to hurt those around you but being unable to.
- Albums I don’t know! Maybe encore cause some of those are very hard hitting and he’d like that I think but also maybe lofi as well cause chill out vibes. Potentially Immaterial Shores which is a bunch of like sea shanty’s.
-Characters they’d like? Jaylen hotdogfingers as well, he’d understand the tradgedy. Also Theodore Duende. Definitely Nagomi McDaniel because she’s a buff as hell mother , maybe the dad versions of Lenny Marijuana. Generally the strong ones who have hearts of gold. He’d be a Dallas steaks fan (their joke is that they’re all dads or dad adjacent, they do cookouts)
FABIEN
- Top ten Tillman Henderson moments that actually happened, dude I cannot describe it but he would love Tillman, shitheel player who does the silliest shenanigans.
- Rise, I can’t really explain it but the extreme confidence mixed with the knowledge that Jaylen actually deeply regrets her revival and fame feels very Fabian.
- Betsy trombone (+ r - s version) I can’t explain it but specifically this version has Fabian feels.
- Albums. Uhhh maybe just straight up discipline, it’s super long but he’d like it I feel. Something shorter would be Caught in the Reverb I don’t know why but I think he’d like it a bit.
-Favorite Characters? Tillman Henderson, he’d love how much of a shitheel he is. I can see him also liking Nagomi McDaniel and Jessica Telephone. I can also seeing him being part of the Jaylen resurrection efforts and just supporting her girlbossing murder spree. He’d actually care if they’re good at the game, similarly he’d be a crabs fan since they’re pretty consistently good, if not the crabs then the hades tigers cause they’re sick as hell. I can also see him really really enjoying York silk because it’s a 12 year old with a gunblade who’s unironically super strong.

Here it is. The Mike Wheeler Playlist Post.
So I finished it. What seems to be the end of season 4, at least. I am avoiding spoilers for myself. All 28 songs from Smalltown Boy to Mad World. Here is what I have deduced:
Mike got over El after she left and started liking Will, but when she came back, he got with her motivated by the grief of “what could have been” but once they got together he felt that the relationship was aimless, only staying because it was familiar. He pursued getting back together with her because he didn’t want to lose her, despite feeling that the spark wasn’t there anymore. His fight with Will makes him question their relationship again but he ultimately doesn’t believe Will reciprocates and regrets even going back down that path. He doesn’t know what he’s going to do when Will moves. He can’t get Will out of his head and, though secrecy is the only safe thing, he’s getting worn down with it and is increasingly considering taking action in his relationship with El because his feelings for Will make him happy and don’t seem to be going anywhere. He’s getting anxious as it gets closer but Will talking to him in the van gives him a lot of security, but then the moment comes and he lies and feels absolutely horrible about it. He feels like he’s just running in circles. More inaction. Over a year now of just inaction.
There are 19 songs left which feels like a lot for one season as I've said before but in defense of that on top of just the consistent alignment with plot points in the playlist this far, season 5 is going to go back in and reveal a lot of this stuff with some very complicated emotions and much more focus on him, his feelings, his trauma, and his overall relationship with Will. So there IS a lot there to fill songs with. If you would like to read my original semi-chaotic notes from the past 5 hours(you read that correctly. You're welcome. And yes I know the full playlist I didn't even finish is only 3.5 hours) listed by song and including bits I skipped over so that it wouldn't be horribly long, lyric quotes, and one link to a cover analysis, you can do so under the cut.

This song is an instrumental but the title is “Beta Girl Lost in Forever”. There is a great cover art analysis by @digestionsack at #20 of the post linked here but I could not find anything on the original meaning of the song or album. I couldn't find like anything else on Google of this one's meaning there were under 300 results when I searched in quotes.
This song is a duet that looks back on the relationship of a boy who helped lift up a girl from a very low and helpless place but the girl is now gone and he wants her to need him again and a girl who always had ambitions not dependent on him from the start and appreciated the time they spent together but needed independence now.
He feels an uncontrollable love that’s taking all his focus that he “can’t shake” but “makes [him] feel so blue” (for Will given the last love song)*this is to say nothing of his self awareness. (though could have convinced himself he got over it as opposed to never having known? *consistent with the s3 fight words)
A song about teenage love. Kinda horny.*He's in love and a little bit horny in the season checks notes...without El?
It’s “Ghostbusters”. It makes sense in a literal context but for the record this song is actually very 80s-under the radar-horny like “Barbie Girl”. Probably literal in this case but I’m sure the Duffers know about the second meaning and so maybe it shouldn’t be put right after Teenage Kicks if they aren’t trying to make me at least consider the possibility that they’re meaning to say Mike is jerking off to Will, possibly while he’s possessed. I didn’t need that, Pete Duffer. (Although 13-year-old boys definitely do. I remember the back of the bus conversations on middle school jazz band trips. I'm all for openness and sex education but I know too much about your masturbatory habits, Ben.)
El comes back and he reflects on how their relationship ended so suddenly and she branched out into independence but now that she’s back he’s not gonna let her get away again.*seems like he wants to fix the past vs take action in the present. What could have been. Acting on behalf of his past self.
Their relationship feels aimless to him, but he stays because it’s familiar. “I’ll carry on with what I know”.*her dumping HIM was an important push for him.
Making mistakes is human and a natural part of relationships. He stays in the relationship despite the spark dying out of a larger, more general love for her and because he doesn’t want to lose her. “If not so in love, it’s not so wrong, we’re only human after all.”*feeling an obligation to get her back because while not dating, she's gone completely (at first)?
He left Will/his feelings for him behind but he’s reminded of them by their fight (“little deals and S.U’s”) and he questions the nature of their relationship again but he doesn’t think that it means to Will what it means to him. “A sly touch at times; I don’t think it meant anything to you”. He regrets even going down that road again. “And I should never have tried”.
He’s going to miss them when they move, seeming to specify Will with “seven years went under the bridge”. He doesn’t know what to do without him now.*this song might sort of also explain why he didn't call if he didn't but it's not sure and there are no other songs about it, so he still could have called("if you leave don't look back, I'll be running the other way" but not every lyric has to apply and it could mean something else)
He’s now set/stuck in his desire for Will and can’t get him out of his head. (I considered an angle of this being for El, but the constant thinking about the lover + the interpretation of unreciprocated a love/a pursuit didn’t fit)*one of the interpretations I read also said they think it's about a gay guy which is a great addition, though not an "official" interpretation.
He feels safest in isolation/secrecy (car=closet?) “It’s the only way to live” but he’s wearing down and feeling lonely/alone in this state so he’s starting to consider “leaving” it.
He definitely still has feelings for Will that don’t seem to be going anywhere. They’re kinda…baffling “You got me so I don’t know what I’m doing”. He’s losing sleep over them. But…he’s not mad at it “don’t ever set me free”.
He criticizes himself for his inaction and starts to seriously think about making decisions for himself.
He’s in love. (very simple lyrics: “I saw your eyes, and for a little while/though it took a while, I was falling in love” repeatedly with minor variation)
He’s worn and broken down but still wants love. He’s holding onto Will in the chaos of his mind and the world and trying to keep out of preying eyes. Also it is apparently written as tribute to Stranger Things after season 1, which is cute. “Just stay close” “You can’t stop this feeling.” “They won’t pull us down”. This song is also called “Vale of Shadows”.
Instrumental Synth called “Dead of Night”
He’s full of uncertainty as seeing El gets closer but Will talking to him in the van comforts him and gives him more security; Will’s love makes it all better. “And she pulling the strings” definitely fits this idea of the situation with Will (especially if he is aware)
He feels horrible about lying to El (The song is “Mad World”). He feels like he’s just “run[ning] in circles”.

I'm gonna list them in random order
- Time Stand Still is best music video and anyone who disagrees is being a grinch!

- Our favorite album is Roll the Bones and our favorite Live CD is A Show of Hands! I think Rush in Rio and Permanent Waves are the *best* though!
- They should just release the Different Stages live recording. It's pretty much out there as extra features on the other DVDs!
- The Clockwork Angels book and graphic novel are pretty average but are worth it for making Seven Cities of Gold not suck. The worst song is the best chapter of the novel
- I would buy a Blu-Ray that is just the backing videos for the live videos and I hate that the only backing vid that exists in full form is By-Tor from Rush in Rio (as an Easter Egg)
- Emotion Detector is the most underrated Rush song and I would have preferred Tom Sawyer or YYZ not get played in one of the tours to accommodate it in a concert! Only 44 songs have never been played live before and of them the only one that I think deserved to be played more is Vapor Trail because it is the ONLY title song of an album never played live (after Presto was pulled out for Time Machine)
- It is pronounced Why-Why-Zed. It is spelt Vapor Trails. The American spelling of Vapor is essential to the song's message
- Analog Kid is Alex's best song, Ghost of a Chance and Between The Wheels are second and third-- though live versions of Working Man are up there
- Geddy's solo at the end of Leave That Thing Alone (Time Machine Tour) is the exact peak of Rush, that was their highest point as a band!
- SARS Fest concert kinda sucked? Spirit of Radio with Paint It Black intro was amazing but the equipment was shot and they gave Alex a hot microphone. They also cut off the "encore" which just sucked. I am also a little salty that Rush were an opening band for the Stones *in Canada*.
- Tom Sawyer is overrated and they're not even Peart lyrics. Limelight and YYZ off of the same album are better.
- Neil's Ayn Rand period is a valid part of Rush history and provides so much extra context to The Garden. The same pen that wrote "begging hands and bleeding hearts will only cry out for more" ended his life with "the measure of a life is a measure of love and respect, the way you live and the gifts that you give, in the fullness of time it's the only return you can expect" - a man with a storied life as Neil with as much tragedy as he endured ended with him completely giving and loving in his heart when 35-40 years prior he wrote empathetically that "you don't get something for nothing"
- La Villa Strangiato is in my opinion not just the best instrumental but it is in contention for best Rush song period. I would never give it that title because it lacks Peart's lyrics and I find that people who say that have an irrational dislike of Geddy's voice... but it's still a valid take. Natural Science would get my all around best song badge. But best and favorite are not the same in my world and even still I mean *technically proficient* mixed with lyrics. I'll change my mind, likely. But that's my feeling right now.
- Geddy didn't get vocal training until before My Favorite Headache (2000) and Neil didn't get jazz drumming instruction until Burning For Buddy (1994). Both artists were just fine as they were but they perfected their arts and I prefer late era Rush because of that. The band never stopped evolving.
- I would have liked to have heard one of the solo album songs live (I Am The Spirit, Promise or My Favorite Headache) or have Bob and Doug do Take Off for a charity event like the South Park or Hawkings concerts last year. I *still* want that. Neil wasn't involved in the solo albums. It could still happen.
- I want a Jukebox Musical of Rush music so that The Body Electric isn't the only piece of fiction scored to Rush.
- Alex Lifeson could have been a comedian. He's one of the funniest humans on the planet.
- Peaceable Kingdom is better for having been the only song where lyrics were written after the music. Vapor Trail has amazing lyrics in general but I feel the limitation had positive impact and I wish Neil and the band did this practice more than once.
- Rush's improvised and last minute songs when they are running out of studio time are the best. Malignant Narcissism was the result of the album director seeing Geddy warming up with a vintage fretless bass and said "put that on the album" so they composed around the improvised riff, Force Ten was literally a last minute addition to Hold Your Fire. La Villa is said to have been recorded in a single take (I do not believe that legend as it wasn't in any of the biographies I have read). Rush just work best with limitations. They're a bunch of goofs and giving them a time limit makes them go into a Saitama style serious mode.

Hi. Not the same anon but the mental health talk with this album has been bothering me or annoying honestly. Like I have some problems with the whole being trapped in a mental asylum imagery too but idk. I don't mind her singing about it cuz we know she struggled in the past. I think my problem with it is everyone's saying how sad this album is yet I'm not feeling any actual emotion about it or what she went through except in some songs..So Long London, The Black Dog I guess. But like it's more in the manic non serious way than I'm actually depressed and wanna die..that I guess I can't really relate to..idk. something like ill crash on the rocks which is kinda dark but it's more in a desperate way I just don't believe really..instead of like This is Me Trying, Hoax or Evermore. I know I can Do it with a Broken Heart is supposed to be more upbeat and jokey I guess and we've all been there so it's fine. But I just wish she had one song that actually explained how bad it was for her and her feelings, similar to Evermore. I'm biased cuz that's one of my favorite songs but still. Also the way she talks about Joes issues..like sometimes it is hard being with someone like that, and I guess she couldn't handle it anymore but she excuses it away by saying she was bored. It makes me feel kinda bad about myself sometimes cuz she would find me so boring and my entire life a waste lol. Also like even if you do work on it, it's mostly still there and even if she did leave, it wouldn't fix all of the issues either..so she didn't love him enough to stay or he didn't love her enough. Like my mom makes my mental health worse at times and maybe it would be a little better if I left, but it wouldn't get rid of it completely either. But literally in the album in the Alchemy, she has the lyric the hospital was a drag and she's out of it now.. because she met Travis and now she's completely fine. She doesn't owe us anything or to talk about it of course but idk why she erased it from her life like in the Time article or blamed some of it on Joe. But I'm glad at least that she didn't pretend that they weren't in love for all that time either. I'm glad she's happy now but I have to remind myself it's okay I'm not as healed as Taylor. Even in the worst time of her life, she had someone falling in love with her lol and now it happened for her again and that was never my experience at all so I need to stop trying to relate to her anymore or compare myself to her I guess. I still mostly like the album though. Sorry idk why I typed all this and I'm really nervous sending this ask. I hope it's okay.
First of all, it's a brave thing to share your experience so please don't feel nervous about it, this was a very insightful read (and it's absolutely okay btw!! Thank you for trusting me) and I completely agree with you, at first I thought it's because I haven't played the album in full or just sat with it enough to fully absorb it but it's been a week and I definitely don't think it's her saddest or most harrowing work so far. A lot of times it seems as if she's dangling a dark lyric for shock value and then immediately switching it up with a follow up that's not entirely relevant to the line. Even though a lot of people insist that context is important, some lines still rub me off as insensitive, and despite it (probably) not being her intention the locked up in an asylum imagery comes off as not much more than an aesthetic to me, at the very least. She was much more vulnerable and meaningful in evermore, and I can't help but feel a little cautious of the work she puts out post renegade because it has disillusioned me from my previous perception of her work.

Hello, I just wanted your opinion and thoughts of rammstein 30th anniversary, like do you think we will get the 2019,2022 dvds or even hopefully the velodrom 2001 full concert dvd, and what about some of the official making of videos of angst and other videos of the zeit album, and we can't forget about the new documentary, so do you think we'll get any of these things this year for rammstein 30th anniversary 🤘🏻🖤

What do I expect from the group's 30th anniversary !?
First on stage I would like to see old pyro effects again like for example Till's coat of flames, the dragon masks or even Engel's wings (even if I don't want Till to hurt his back) 🔥
And also I would love to see Bück Dick (with the Tillake moment) and Pussy (with the cannon) again (although I have very little hope 🙄)
And also the mini b-stage at eye level with the public (even if I know that in a stadium it's complicated).
I don't have too many expectations for the setlist, I would just like a few surprises compared to the last three rounds.
And why not a slightly "loud and hard" first part, a bit "Rammstein old-school", like with Clawfinger 🤘🏻
I'm waiting for the live DVD but I don't really know which images will be there: those filmed in Vienna in 2019 and/or those from Mexico in 2022. I'm not sure they can make a mix of the two as there are quite a few differences between these tours...
We also know that they filmed some videos in Mexico, we have already seen those of Richard and Paul but the context of these images has not been officially clarified. Nor if the live DVD will be paired with the documentary.
Besides, I'm waiting with even more impatience for the documentary which has just been finished at the start of 2024.
We know that it should be divided into 4 parts/episodes (broadcast on a streaming platform) and include archive images of the group, in particular live images (well those which have not been leaked since certain "fans" (?) have again embarrassed the group by publishing videos on YouTube which were originally planned for the documentary thus causing a delay in production 😡).
And we know from Paul's own mouth that the song Ramm4 should be published alongside the documentary. I don't know if there is a date planned at the moment: before, during or after the tour...
I don't think we will have any other DVDs this year, especially from an old concert like the one from 2001 in Berlin. If it comes out one day, it will be on their YouTube channel.
What I would like to see in the documentary :
- We know that there will be interviews with the guys so I would like them to tell us funny anecdotes, their best memories, stories that they experienced together, to tell us what unites them still today, etc ;
- Images from before Rammstein, from their lives in the GDR, from their musical beginnings with Feeling B, First Arsch, Die Firma, etc ;
- Interviews with those close to them and their views on the guys, their beginnings and their evolution into an international super band ;
- I would like images of the band in recording sessions and rehearsals, to see how they think about what they are going to do on stage, behind the scenes in a way, how they work ;
- I would also like some new images from backstages, I love the photos we got but on video it must be even better ;
- Obviously I would love to have the making of the most recent videos: Deutschland (I'll be very very very very very disappointed if I don't see it this year 🙏🏻), Adieu, Zeit, etc.
I would also like a best-of with unreleased songs, we know that the guys have recorded songs over time that have never been published on an album so it would be cool if they offered them to us today.
I don't really know what else to expect, I want to be surprised🥳 And please, Rammstein, don't sell your new merch too expensive, I'm out of money 🥲

Part I - Lights Down Low
Pairing: Danny Wagner x Josh Kiszka

A/N: I can't believe this is the first Danny x Josh fic I've ever written. This idea of the 3-part series came to me suddenly and this one just poured out of me. Also, no, I am not at all rooting for any of the boys to have an IRL breakup LOL. But I do like playing up Danny in his Slut Era in fanfiction. I hope you enjoy ;)

Despite Josh usually feeling distinctly like a true older brother to Danny, there were times here and there that he didn’t. Danny thought it was just because Josh was naturally flirtatious–not even overtly, not in a seductive way even, but because he was so open and free and one of the most physical people he’d ever known. Sometimes the hugs went a little long; sometimes the brief touches were strong on Danny’s skin; sometimes the look in Josh’s eyes bordered on mischief, sometimes on what Danny could only describe to himself as desire. It always sent him into a bit of a tizzy when that happened, made him trip over his words when the time came to speak, or stumble, suddenly losing all grace and decorum. 
The first time he’d caught one of Josh’s not-so-brotherly looks was just before their second album was released. Danny could remember clearly within the context of that time–the sudden distress of a global pandemic, the distance, the struggle it had been to record, the change of management, the stress on all of their relationships within the band and beyond. So many changes between Anthem and now, he thought as he brushed his teeth in front of the hotel mirror, that he sometimes wasn’t sure how they’d even made it through. But now here they were, doing well enough to each get their own hotel rooms after producing a third full album and beginning another tour. 
After spitting and rinsing, he looked at himself, proud to think that he liked what he saw. A lot, actually. And it wasn’t just because so many of the fans thought he was hot–he’d seen the changes in himself, both unintentional and intentional, and felt like he’d grown into being the fiery (quite literally these days), solid beast of a drummer, the backbone and also the heartbeat of the band. So, in a way, he stopped being surprised when Josh would touch him for too long or look at him in that curious, wanting way; it was flattering. Danny embraced quiet praise more than vocal praise even to this day. 
The excitement of the tour seemed to be fizzing through all of them continually even despite the personal setbacks. Josh especially was dealing with a lot–a breakup that had seemed sudden to Danny until he heard more about the intricacies and drawn out hurdles, things he’d missed because Josh was so good at being private when he wanted to be. It had taken them all by surprise, really, and Danny felt for him. His own breakup had been difficult and he’d seen it coming from a mile away. But with Josh’s breakup, there had been a moment–or really, a long string of minutes suspended between them that felt like both an eternity and a second–when his older brother nature completely disappeared and he just wasn't. 
And secretly, Danny had been wanting something like that to happen again. So when a knock came upon his hotel room door and he opened it to see Josh standing there, barefoot and in slouchy, soft pajamas, his heart did a little flip. 
“I’m not tired,” Josh announced, taking it upon himself to breeze right past Danny and enter his space. There was that big brother energy, Danny thought, but it was still an unusual gift. Josh answered his silent question by saying, “Jake’s passed out and Sam is having a mutual masturbation session with his girlfriend.”
Danny snorted, shut the door. “Seriously?”
Josh laughed, plopping himself down on the foot of the bed. “I’m not entirely sure, but something along those lines, I imagine.” 
“Well,” Danny began, suddenly feeling sheepish. He and Josh had never talked about what happened before, right after the breakup–and while it wasn’t exactly fresh, it wasn’t exactly buried either. But Josh didn’t talk about things that didn’t need to be discussed–Danny knew that and decided to trust it. 
Josh looked up at him, that impish mischief twinkling in his dark eyes. “Don’t tell me you were going to bed already, Daniel.”
“I was only preparing,” Danny defended, still standing, not sure of what to do with himself, so he asked, noting once again that Josh was in PJs and clearly not ready to go out out, “What do you wanna do?”
Josh crawled up the bed and put himself right against the pillows, curling his legs up so he was nestled into the white pillows and propped up against the headboard. Danny could have laughed; he also could have choked, and a strange, strangled sound that was a bit like both came out at what he was witnessing. Thankfully, Josh didn’t seem to notice as he was making himself right at home. He just patted the space next to himself and said, “We could watch a movie.” 
With no other choice really, and not exactly wanting one anyway, Danny stepped through the low light, the soft golden glow from the bedside lamp and the slant of white light from the mostly-shut bathroom door. He got next to Josh but stayed on top of the blankets, hesitant. Wanting, but still hesitant. Josh had been pretty tipsy the last–and first–time they’d strayed out of “sibling” territory; he was sober now, Danny noted, but perhaps still vulnerable if Josh was coming to his room. If he really wanted to, Josh would wake Jake up or force Sam off the phone call or whatever. But then Danny remembered something Josh had said during that feverish, frenzied, raw time between the two of them. 
“You're always there,” Josh had said while his hands moved underneath Danny’s shirt, nimble fingers spreading over Danny’s abdomen and then further up to his chest. “You ground people, Danny. We'd be damn lost without you.”
At the time, Danny hadn’t registered how profound those words now sounded in his mind as he replayed them. Now, lounging next to Josh, he felt a swell of pride in his chest. 
He grabbed the remote. “I don’t even know what channels are on here. Is there Pay-Per-View or something? Is that still a thing?”
Josh chuckled. “Netflix exists, you know.”
“Oh.” Danny didn’t watch much TV when they were at hotels. He was surprised Josh was even privy to this information. 
“Oh boy,” Josh said with a small sigh, and Danny saw an amused little smile on his face as he reached across him with his whole body, extending his arm to find Danny’s phone on the other side of the bed. “Let me do it.” 
Danny let him take it, watched as Josh opened the app and connected it to the TV. “Been watching a lot of movies on your own lately?” he questioned, digging without really intending to dig, but the speculation was confirmed by Josh’s answer.
“Since I became single again,” he said, stealing the remote from Danny. “Sometimes film really is cathartic.” 
Sure, Danny thought, Josh was always passionate about film. It was just that some of that had taken a backseat since they’d blown up. A little chord of sadness was struck in his heart as he thought about Josh being unusually reclusive, relying on movies to get him through the dark times. Of course he’d also relied on Jake and Sam and, sure enough, Danny too, to get him through it all as well, but maybe Danny hadn’t realized how deeply Josh was still hurting.
“How’re you doing with that?” he asked as Josh flipped through the seemingly endless number of titles in the app. 
Josh glanced up at him, looking angelic in the dimness of the room, sharp cheekbones, sharp jaw but soft, gentle eyes and those pretty, full lips that Danny could remember feeling against his own. He expected more vulnerability, a broach to an open dialogue that would be both intimidating and curious, but Josh grinned and said, “Better with good company, my good man.” 
Danny chuckled. “Oh, good.” 
Josh finally settled on not a movie but a nature documentary, but Danny couldn’t focus much on the brilliant colors on the screen; he was fixated on the warm weight of Josh so close to him, almost touching, and the fresh, green scent of his damp hair and clean body. It didn’t take long for Josh to inch closer and closer until his head was on Danny’s shoulder and his hand was on Danny’s thigh–at that point, Danny was holding his breath, body stiff, totally unsure of how to play this out despite knowing what he wanted. He didn’t mind being a rebound of sorts, if that’s what this was, he just didn’t know if that’s what Josh wanted.
He decided he was just going to do his best to relax and go with the flow–he was good at that. He could do it, even if he did just want to haul Josh on top of himself and swallow him whole. Danny had never realized how strong his own attraction was to him until Josh had made that first move weeks ago–since then, he’d wanted more. Josh’s charisma had finally enticed him in a way well beyond just being friends and, yes, of course, brothers from other mothers. 
Josh was so quiet that Danny wondered if he’d actually just drifted to sleep, but then he felt the wandering hand on his thigh move up just a bit, the slight pressure making his skin tingle beneath his shorts. He stayed still; Josh reached for Danny’s left hand and took it, wrapping that strong arm around his waist, forcing Danny to hold him closer. Josh cuddled up against him, pressing his face against his chest while Danny draped his arms over his back. “You’re very comforting, you know. You didn’t even have to say much to make me feel better,” he said, and warmth bloomed in Danny’s chest at the words. “Just you being there helped–and does help–so much.” Josh looked up, peeking through curls that had fallen into his face. “And you have the best hugs of anyone I know.”
“Well, I’ll keep hugging you until you’re all healed up,” Danny assured him, completely meaning it. 
“I love that. I love you.” Josh brought his head back down and Danny felt the butterfly kisses of eyelashes fluttering against his chest. “Just don’t tell Jake and Sam. I fear they’ll be too jealous to handle it.”
Danny laughed. “Jealous? What do you mean?”
“Oh come on, Daniel,” Josh said, words muffled. “You think Sam’s ever kept his mouth shut about you two? You think I can’t pull a secret out of Jake?” 
“Oh shit,” Danny said, and Josh giggled. “Are you serious? You knew?” 
Josh’s cackle tickled Danny’s skin. “Okay, I didn’t know details, but now I think I can fill in the blanks.”
“Damn.” Danny felt utterly screwed, but he wasn’t sure why–apparently everything was fine. Apparently the Kiszkas were perfectly content to share as much as he was. 
“You belong to us,” Josh said, and Danny’s heart flipped again. “As much as we belong to you.”
