The dead disco break up Pregnancy au got me in my feels all day. Literally all day.

And all I can think about is when the guys get home? Find her not at the apartment and they’re both like, “can’t blame her, I get it” and are over come with guilt. Their own relationship getting a little rocky. Maybe Johnny gets frustrated more easily with Simon. Simon withdrawals a little more into himself bc that’s how he handles pain and grief. But they make it through. They always do. Until they find out about darling and the baby. However that happens, be it in a grocery store or whatever. But Simon comes from a very traumatized childhood. He sees the baby and just knows. That’s their kid. And is overcome with so much grief bc now he’s no worse that his dad is he? What’s worse than someone that’s there and beats you? Someone that’s not there at all. Not knowing. And he has always promised himself he’d never be like his father, but than this is just too close to comfort.

I imagine he surprises not only himself but Johnny and darling the most when he ends up doing something drastic. There were no words he had to defend himself or Johnny. He’d be mature. Whatever it takes, whatever darling needed just let him be in his child’s life, let him be in your life, let him do better. Don’t LET HIM HAVE THIS WEIGHT ON HIS SHOULDERS.

Darling would have more whiplash than Johnny but even Johnny is taken back by the lengths Simon would go? (Getting out the military? Domestic security and law enforcement jobs so he can be home? Idk?) but Simon just comes out of no where, with “I’m here. I’m not going no where. I’ll spend the rest of my life making this right.” Bc he does love darling and he does love Johnny, but that kid? He’d move heaven and hell for that kid. It was Ryan Reynolds who was like “I love my wife, love her more than anything. Then we had our baby girls and realized I would use my wife as a human shield to protect my kids” As a joke of course but it’s to that extent. Simons 2 priority’s become taking care of that child and mending the relationship between the three of them, not bc he loves them (he totally does, and his devotion to his partners is infallible) BUT BECAUSE that kid needs to know what healthy relationships are based out of love and communication not grief and missed social cues and resentment.

Simon takes fatherhood seriously. Most serious job there is. And he’s not going to let darling’s (low key selfish) feelings of betrayal and self deprecation keep him from taking care of his child and said mother of that child.

Johnny however? He’s the one that’s hesitant surprisingly. He’s hurt. Beyond hurt that you wouldn’t tell them something like this. It’s the adult thing to at least say something right? Even if they did leave. This is more than them now. And he goes along with Simons initiative to fix all of this but Johnny needs some serious reassurance and maybe an outlet for all this anger and hurt he has. And there’s so much going on that it’s easy for Simon and darling to kinda miss that a little bit,

Until Johnny doesn’t want to hold the baby. Says he’s scared he’d drop it. But Simon knows better.

Johnny feels lost.

Darling feels lost.

Simon is their beacon of light in the darkness.

It comes down to the sexiest night known to human existence, and a lot of crying and confessions while fucking all those emotions out. Simon has always known how to get these two to let down their walls. Breakfast is for figuring out detail’s schedules ect. But that night? That was them fixing it. Letting go and moving forward. In the sexiest. Way. Possible.

Um… hi? Hello? Come back. Let’s talk about this more, let’s break it down. I am obsessed with this. I love this. 🩵🩵

Simon goes into protective overdrive the second he see’s you. Not sure how or when or where it happens, but Bee is not even two months old, and he doesn’t even need to ask you. She’s so little, cocooned in a linen wrap, cradled to your chest, and he already knows. How could that baby be anyone’s but their own?

He does exactly as you’ve described, drops everything and retires early. Price and Johnny always thought he’d make captain soon, but none of that matters now. His military aspirations have meant less and less every year since he met Johnny, and meeting you only sped his career’s ultimate demise along.

He’s not going to let the cycle repeat. He’s not going to let his child grow up and feel like they’ve been abandoned by him. He’s not going to let Bee grow up without him being there. Loving her. Supporting her. He won’t be his father. He refuses.

You agree to let them see her, and agree to let them take her for nights or days if they’d like. But you won’t let them in. Won’t do much more than co parent with them, won’t engage in anything real with them, won’t give them a single inch. You stonewall them, block them out, give them excuses and refusals at every turn. Sure, they can be in their daughter’s life… but they can’t be in yours.

While Bee is important, you are too. He wouldn’t use you as a shield to save her, he’d save you both. There’s no option. No choice. You’re the love of their lives, the now mother of his child. He’d lay down and die for you.

But none of that matters. You won’t let them in.

It drives Simon insane. He’s understanding, and mature about it, and patient (compared to Johnny, who’s running hot over it… frustrated, agitated, consistently visibly upset, holding onto his anger and resentment over the fact you never came forward and even told them about Bee. Johnny can’t get over that you went through everything alone… can’t understand why you wouldn’t tell them, give them a chance to be there for you.. and it stings. It hurts him, so fucking much, and that hurt melds into anger, it burns into his heart and twists his feelings until they’re a jumbled mess.) but he can’t seem to make you understand that they love you, that they thought about you everyday when they were gone, that they mourned the end of the relationship. It’s not just about the baby, they were coming back for you no matter what. They knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that they weren’t meant to live their lives without you. They made a mistake.

But… they fucking abandoned you. And now they come back, and see that you have a baby and just decide they want to be back in your life? No. Absolutely not. They didn’t want you anymore, before Bee… nothing has changed. You won’t let yourself fall back into their grasp, and you’re so adamant about that that you fight them nearly at every turn. Can they take Bee? Sure. But “family trips” to the store? “Family trips” to the park? Not happening. You pack her diaper bag and kiss her goodbye, while Simon watches you with an intense scrutiny, eyes tracking your every step while he holds little Bee is his giant hand. He doesn’t miss a single thing, doesn’t miss the way your hands shake when you press a sweet kiss against her cheek, doesn’t miss the way your body moves sluggishly, like you’re exhausted, even after the nights they’ve had Bee, which means you should have gotten plenty of rest. Johnny just stands in the corner and stares at the floor, hands in his pockets during these exchanges, practically unwilling to engage with you in any way because he’s just so… upset with you, still. He’s better with Bee, loves her dearly, but can’t get past what he’s holding inside of himself, can’t get past how he feels so betrayed you, even though a part of him thinks he has no right to those feelings.

I love your last little bit - about the night Simon breaks you and Johnny apart and then puts you back together. There is something very similar/along those lines in the actual fic outline.

BUT ALSO… let’s imagine: They try to fix it. They try to get you to let them back in, to open up to them, to let them be there for you. As time goes on, Johnny changes, the red hot fire of anger that burns inside of him eventually goes out, lovingly smothered by Simon, and his resentment and feelings of betrayal all melt away. How could he ever have felt those things, when you were the one who was left all alone? Pregnant, with no way to contact them? He lets it all go, fully embracing parenting with you and Simon, trying to get back into your life, trying to love and support you from afar, any way they can. They start to notice a change in you… you seem a little happier, a little lighter on your feet, a little more relaxed and they think it might be working… that you finally might be growing more amenable about letting them in, about building back the relationship.

Until… they show up for Bee’s first birthday party, and there’s a man with his hand splayed on the small of you back in the backyard, holding you, tugging your body into his, while Bee shrieks and giggles on the blanket in the grass. There’s another man, watching their daughter, holding their darling girl close, while they stand in the doorway, shell shocked.

currently having EMOTIONS abt your 'Billy adopts kon and it goes p good actually'. Billy's there just like oh man I'm rambling they're gonna think I'm so lame...meanwhile I as a reader (and presumably also Kon and possibly the other characters present??) are actually going 'oh my god. oh my god he's known Kon for like one singular minute and already arranged a flat according to his best predictions of Kon's needs/wants, gave Kon FIRST PICK OF BEDROOM, and has freely offered to learn how to cook AND how to drive for the sole purpose of taking better care of Kon'. like. oh my god. oh my god. Billy is so precious and I want to give him a hug. I hope Kon isn't too overwhelmed or suspicious due to Billy's enthusiasm tho lmao. (pls could there be..more? more Billy adopts kon, if possible?) anyway I love ur writing. thank you. idk how to ask from a sidelong but this is tryingahandinholdingapen btw :D

Rich people are weird, Billy decides, then sets the swiss rolls and zebra cakes and rest of the strawberry shortcakes on the counter in case Kid Flash is still hungry or Superboy wants any of them and closes the pantry. Batman’s just doing his best, he guesses. Though Billy hopes he knows how to coupon, if he’s always buying brand-name. 

Well, he’s Batman. It’d be weirder if he didn’t know how to coupon, Billy figures.

It looks like Superboy ate all of his snack cake while Billy and Kid Flash were in the pantry, at least, which Billy hopes means he liked it. He doesn’t know how much real food Superboy’s had, but Batman’d said he should be fine eating solid stuff and not just whatever he’d been getting in his cloning pod. Though Billy’d still asked if they could get some bottled smoothies and protein shakes and stuff like that to keep in the fridge, just in case. He figured those might be easier for him to eat and digest, if it came up. Or like, maybe appeal to him more, if nothing else? 

Billy has no idea, honestly, he’s just doing his best here. The wisdom of Solomon is pretty useful but it’s not really, like, that much of a parenting guide. 

He is not going to cut Superboy in half. Like, ever. Like he understands the idea of that story but also it is an insane and incredibly freaky story and he is just not invoking it, ever. Just no way.

“If it’s alright, Captain, we should get going. We’ve got a bit of a drive to get home,” Mrs. West says, then sighs as Kid Flash empties the boxes of swiss rolls and zebra cakes in lightning-fast succession, though he leaves the strawberry shortcakes alone. Billy checks in the fridge and offers him a couple of the more filling smoothies–peanut butter and banana should be more filling, anyway, even with a speedster’s appetite. He steals those from convenience stores sometimes, when he can. He can’t be Captain Marvel all the time. 

Well–maybe he could, he guesses. But he does miss being himself, sometimes.

“Thanks, man,” Kid Flash says eagerly, then immediately shotguns both smoothies. 

“Wally,” Mr. West says in exasperation as Mrs. West sighs again. “Don’t eat Captain Marvel out of house and home.” 

“It’s okay, we’ve got lots of food!” Billy promises cheerfully. “I work with Flash, I know how hungry he gets. I bet it’s way worse when you still have growth spurts to get through.” 

“It is so much worse,” Kid Flash mutters vehemently, eyeing the empty smoothie bottles in his hands accusingly. Billy gets him another peanut butter banana one on principle. He really doesn’t want Kid Flash to be that hungry. It’s . . . not a good feeling. 

“We appreciate it, Captain, really, but we’ve got snacks and a cooler in the car,” Mrs. West says. 

“Oh, good,” Billy says, relieved. Mr. and Mrs. West both give him strange, inscrutable looks, then glance back to Superboy. Billy wonders if he likes peanut butter banana smoothies. Though if he liked the snack cakes, there’s strawberry banana ones too, so that might be better? And strawberry kiwi, but that’s probably less filling. “Superboy, do you want a smoothie too?” 

“No,” Superboy says. Billy pauses again, then gets him a strawberry banana one and tosses it over. Superboy catches it, eyes it, and then opens it and takes a sip.

Okay, Billy thinks he’s getting the hang of this. But also they should probably talk about how “no” needs to actually mean “no”. Like, for Superboy he’s sure it’s just like that phase when toddlers want to say “no” to everything no matter what, but it’s still important for him to understand. Billy doesn’t want to accidentally upset him or overstep because Superboy doesn’t know how to really say “no” to something.

Yeah, they definitely need to talk about that, he decides.

-the stark family having an outing after y/n’s graduation, tony reminiscing the old times when y/n was just a baby and being taken care of (tony telling embarrassing toddler y/n moments to morgan. pepper in her Protective Mum Mode telling her kids embarrassing stories about their dad as kind of revenge for her embarrassed eldest *go pep!*)

Summary: all the fun times you had with your little sunshine...morgan

You woke up at around 10:17 a.m. you went downstairs and no one was there, you expected your parents to still be sleeping given that pepper was pregnant and tony well...he's tony.

You gobbled down a bowl of cereal and went upstairs to check on your parents, passing by the nursery, you saw all of the pink and white, and the smidgen of grey in there too.

You smiled, picturing your baby sister laying in her crib, or on the changing table, or even just playing with her toys. You were so excited to meet morgan. The baby sister you'd always wanted.

You peeked around the corner into your parents bedroom. But no one was there, you checked the bathrooms, the dining room, the kitchen, the living room, heck you'd even checked the garage. But no one was there.

"Friday? Where is everyone?" You asked the AI, starting to panic. "Pepper has gone into labor and is at the hospital with tony." She stated calmly. "What!? Why didn't they get me up!?" You asked her. And she said....

"Actually, tony has left a message for you explaining this" she said as she played it. "Hey kid, i hope your doing alright. It is your first time home alone, but peps in labor and i didn't want to wake you so happy will pick you up when the time comes. And dont worry, youll be here for the birth. Love you baby" you heard your father tell you from on the voice message, he sounded like he was driving and pepper was maybe holding the phone up so it could hear him properly.

"Well tell happy to come get me! I dont wanna miss my sisters birth!" You said running out as Friday contacted happy, you were putting together a comfy outfit. Making sure your sweatshirt was fluffy so that when you held her, she would feel it. You threw on your sneakers and was out the door.

Happy picked you up, and stepped on it. Which made you think you were in a hurry and might miss it, but luckily, you didn't.

You ran into the hospital room, immediately being greeted with tony and peppers soft eyes. You ran over to pepper, taking her hand in yours. "Hey mamuh, you doing alright?" You asked her, gently caressing her arm.

"Yes, thank you munchkin" that was peppers nickname for you, she loved saying it, and you were determined to pass it down to morgan and possibly your children some day.

"How dilated is she?" You asked looking up at tony. "Shes currently 8 centimeters dilated"

"What?? Oh thank god i didn't hit the snooze button." Everybody chuckled at your joke.

After a while, she was fully dilated and ready to push. The nurses and doctors instructed her on what to do, while you and tony were at her sides cheering her on and comforting her.

"You got this mamuh, there you go! Come on." You and tony kept repeating these words until morgan was officially born <33333333

It took another few minutes for you and tony to be able to hold her though. But when tony held his second daughter on his chest, the man was crying with joy.

Though he was iron man, and acted like he was the Is toughest guy on the planet, he was actually a very delicate flower.

You tapped his shoulder, getting his attention. "Daddy, can i hold her now?" He immediately gave little Mo to pep and folded your arms in the correct way. After he finished this task, he took his baby and placed her gently in her big sisters arms.

You looked down at her and she looked up at you. You both stared into each others eyes for a while. Tonys eyebrows fell back, he felt a tear run down his cheek. He quickly whipped out his phone, holding it sideways he recorded you both for at least 5 minutes straight.

You smiled at her, letting out a small giggle in awe, and she cooed at you. Making you smile bigger, which made her smile, and all of this reminded tony of his first moments with you, as if you were him and she was you, it flashed before his eyes on how fast his little girl was growing up.

He didn't want the same for morgan, he wanted for both of you to stay like this forever. He wasn't going to let the first few months of little Mo's life off of his mind for a long time. He made the mistake with you, and when time went by so fast, he wanted to go back and not mess it up this time. He took an oath to remember these moments with morgan, it didn't matter if he was soothing her cries, or feeding her, or even bathing her. He wasn't going to let any of it go. Ever.

You looked up at tony, who was balling his eyes out. You giggled and leaned to the side to hug him. He began sobbing into you, holding you tight, pep definitely snapped a photo of this >:) she's gonna show it to everyone ehehhehehehehe

You came into Morgans room, the baby pink walls were covered in her drawings and photos. You sat down at the table that was seven times too small for you.

She was having a tea party with her stuffed animals, her ginormous panda bear plush sat in a chair, along with a elephant pep had gotten her, and a lion you had got for her.

"May i join the tea party m'lady?" You asked her in a strong British accent, "of course madam" she responded, trying her best to recreate the accent. Pretending to pour some tea in a cup in front of you.

you took a plastic cup she just "filled". Making a loud slurping sound. She giggled at this. (I wanna hear it so bad)

She eventually talked you into wearing a giant pink hoop skirt. (Even though she simply asked and you did it because you cant resist those big beautiful little eyes of hers) Which she had a smaller version for her.

after a while, tony walked in and paused seeing his both his daughters on the floor, in giant hoop skirts, having a tea party. A smile danced on his lips.

Morgan ran behind him and shut the door, locking it in the process 😈😈😈

"Wacha doing, and why did morgan just lock the door....wait who taught you to do that?" He said turning to morgan, who had her arms behind her back innocently "i did." You said raising your hand.

Tony eventually joined in on this tea party. And after begging for like 10 minutes, he put on a hoop skirt as well, and you ran out of the bedroom, getting caught on the locked door. And returned with makeup. "Uh-no." He said pointing a finger at you. You gave him puppy dog eyes, and so did morgan "....fine." you and her cheered before high-fiving.

While morgan did his hair in very odd shapes and styles, you did his makeup, badly....like, INTENSE blush. And bright blue eyeshadow. And red lipstick, you know.

Then pepper walked in to inform her family that it was dinner time. But saw all of you in giant skirts, and tony in a the best ponytail you can do with three inches of hair, and a tiara of course 😄 and you doing his makeup.

She chuckled at this, and especially tonys vulnerability to his girls. "Dinners ready, come on" she said before leaving the room. "Dont worry dad you look amazing"

You had noticed that your father had a pretty bad day at work, and decided to help him out a bit with the help from Morgan.

"Hey mo. Daddy had a rough day at work, and he misses mommy, lets call it 'daddys bad day' and i want you to draw him something with all of your skill, and then give him the best bad day cure ever! hugs" you whispered that last bit to make it more dramatic for her.

She ran across her bedroom to grab her crayons and a few papers, and immediately got to work, creating her best piece yet!

You looked at it, then back at her and high-fived her for her amazing drawing skills. You had the milk on the stove and the chocolate in the microwave being melted. (You really think that you would make him instant hot cocoa on daddys bad day? Didn't think so)

You watched as tony came downstairs from his hot shower, that was long as well. And watched him immediately plop down on the couch, putting his hands over his face.

Morgan climbed onto the couch and tapped his shoulder getting him to look over at her, his hands floating midair.

"I made you something daddy" she said handing him the paper. He took one look at it and immediately smiled, looking back at morgan he saw she was handing him another paper. "And this ones you and mommy" she said pointing at the two people hugging underneath a rainbow in a meadow of flowers.

He was already quite emotional from his hard day, he felt his eyes water. Little Mo noticed this and wrapped her small arms around his neck, squeezing him as hard as she could,

"Its okay daddy...i love you" he let out a small sob and threw his arms around her waist. "I love you too, my sweet girl".

You walked over and sat down on the couch on his opposite side. Setting all three drinks down on the coffee table in front of you. You leaned into him, you and morgan both squeezed the life out of him.

You turned on a movie, and after you finished your drinks, you and morgan passed out in your fathers caring arms.

OKAY MUPPETS IT IS TIIIIME FOR EZZYS OPINION HOUR

i saw the mean girls movie yesterday and i have THOUGHTS. spoilers below the cut but general thoughts up here

1. is it objectively not a super great movie? yes

2. is it my new favorite movie? yes

3. will i defend this movie tooth and nail from people who don’t like it just bc it’s a musical or bc they’re a 2004 purist? YES

4. did this movie make me feel so many conflicting emotions back to back i have now had a tummyache for 24 hours? YESSS

5. will i ever, ever, EVER IN MY LIFE forgive tina fey for the ending? no.

these aren’t all in order and are most definitely not all the thoughts i had bc i have the memory storage of a flea and once an experience is over it is GONE FROM MY HEAD so this is the list of thoughts i struggled to put together when i got home lmao

overall thoughts:

it felt very gimmicky. the stage production felt gimmicky too but in a fun way, this was gimmicky in a way that kinda gave me a touch of the ick

it did not feel to me very much like a cohesive movie. it felt like browsing ig or tiktok and just seeing a hodgepodge of scenes stuck together. which is a cool idea but idk how well it worked in practice and i also don’t know if it was intentional.

this is not the word i’m looking for but in terms of personality they absolutely whitewashed all of the characters and i really don’t care for that. the visuals and the casting were so immaculate but in terms of personality they just made them all taste like unsweetened corn flakes.

i’m biased and didn’t care for most of the tweaks they made to the songs individually BUT i think they blended with each other more cohesively than they do in the stage production so that was cool. and i am able to understand why they made them more pop-esque than theatre-y it’s just not my personal vibe

it all felt very emma watson’s beauty and the beast. like. not deserving of much hate but also just not as good. it has its time and place but i still just. the changes they made were too much for me. that being said i am gonna be the #1 viewer whenever it’s released to streaming platforms was not kidding when i said this is a new favorite movie

the whole like. tiktok and iphone camera thing was an interesting??? idea. i really liked it for cautionary tale but the rest. i think it was a better idea than the way they executed it.

i miss do this thing!! i wish they had done like a mashup with it and the stupid with love reprise but i wasn’t mad at the reprise so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A/N: Idk why this song made this play out in my head but I went with it. It was written quickly so I’ll have to go through and edit mistakes and may fix some things I don’t like about it.

He couldn’t stay. He knew that much. Regardless of Isabelle’s attempts to manipulate him, he knew from the beginning that he couldn’t stay. He wouldn’t stay. It had been a mistake to leave in the first place. It took thousands of miles and too many close calls for his stubborn mind to catch up with what his heart knew all along. 

He belonged with her. When he left the Commonwealth, he had told her loved her. He meant it. He just didn’t know the depth of that love until it felt impossible to return to her. Now he knew that he would swim the Atlantic if that’s what it took. 

But a boat would be waiting. It wouldn’t take him home but it would take him far enough. He’d find a way from there. It was a start and he wouldn’t be deterred. 

He cared for Laurent. He knew it, and Isabelle did too. Whether or not her intentions for attempting to persuade him to stay were for the boy or her own benefit, he’d probably never know. But the kid would be safe at the Nest. Daryl had to believe that. 

Even if he couldn’t, he still wouldn’t stay. 

Because the Nest wasn’t home. France wasn’t home. The Commonwealth wasn’t home. 

She was home. 

And he was going home. 

He spared the castle behind one last glance and sent up a prayer to a god he still wasn’t sure existed that the people he left behind would be safe. 

Because he couldn’t stay. 

He sat by a fire that night in a rundown shack, soaked to the bone, with her face at the forefront of his mind. Smiling as he left her. He had known then that he loved her but he had nothing to offer her. He wasn’t a king or even a soldier. He was just a man, broken and imperfect. She deserved perfect. She deserved whole. 

He knew now that she was home. He would go back and throw his heart at her feet; offer it with its stitches, its missing pieces, and its black surface. If she would hold it, even for a moment, it would heal. If she rejected him, it would shatter, but the pieces would still be hers. 

It took another day for him to hear the waves, for him to allow himself to feel the excitement of going home. Yet the flag gave him pause. On that lonely plot of land, a single flagpole with a tattered American flag waved. The markers for the final resting places of all the soldiers who died with his grandfather. He wasn’t sure why but he had to find it; had to find him. The search wasn’t in vain.

His grandfather. His blood. He couldn’t pinpoint a single emotion of the multitude he was feeling. Was it anger? Sadness? Grief? No. 

Determination. 

He wouldn’t stay. 

He turned walking to the edge of the grave markers before looking back. Daryl wouldn’t be like him. He would go back to his family. He would go back to her. 

The boat was there, just beyond the shore. He called to it and waved, assaulted by a sense of relief so strong, it threatened to buckle his knees. When he heard the growls, he felt no fear. The undead would not stand between him and that boat. 

And they didn’t. 

He was on the beach, limping toward the water and allowing himself to smile; he was going home. He was going back to her. 

“Daryl!”

He froze, not only his steps but his heart, his lungs. It couldn’t be. 

“Daryl!”

He turned slowly, wondering if he had finally given in to madness. It had been teasing the edges of his mind for years; the grief, the anger. Had he succumbed to the darkness that had threatened for so long to engulf him?

There she stood. Her short silver hair pressed to one side from the salty breeze. Walkers were littered around her feet. The clear sky behind her gave her an ethereal look but when she smiled, he was undone. 

She was running haphazardly, his pace considerably slower from his bad leg and a state of disbelief. That didn’t stop him from falling to his knees when she was a mere few feet away. 

She didn’t stop; didn’t even pause. Her knees hit the sand, arms encircling his neck. She was warm. Flesh and blood and breathing and real. Yet he couldn’t move. His body refused to obey. 

“I can’t believe I found you!” She was crying but there was a smile in her voice. He wanted to see her face but he still couldn’t bloody move. After a moment, she pulled back, her expression stern. Still beautiful. She slapped the front of his shoulder. “Fucking France, Daryl!”

He felt himself come back, shaking his head to clear the cobwebs the shock had woven. She was still scolding him but the relief in her eyes mirrored his own. He couldn’t help but smile, lopsided and probably the goofiest expression he’d ever worn. 

“Carol.”

“Are you even listening to me? Do you know—oomph!”

He threw himself forward, grabbing her shoulders to pull her halfway, his mouth on hers in a needy, desperate kiss. Her body went rigid, a sign to him that he needed to pull away, but then she relaxed and brought her hands to each side of his face. He forgot everything else; the boat, the remaining walkers. Nothing else mattered but her and this moment. 

And eventually, the need to breathe. 

They were both panting, foreheads together. His hands were still on her shoulders, hers on his face. 

“Did ya miss me?” 

She snorted. “Not really.”

“I’ll take it.” He chuckled and kissed her again, quicker than the first but just as passionate. “I need ta tell ya something.” Her small hand moved over from his cheek to cover his mouth. 

“You just did.”

“I meant it back at the Commonwealth, too. I need ya ta hear it again n’ know that I mean it now.”

“Okay, fine. Let’s hear it then.” She smiled, smoothing back his hair only for the wind to throw back in his face.

He didn’t hesitate. “I love you. I always have. M’just a stubborn ass. Thought I wasn’ good enough fer ya.” 

Her eyes softened and shone with unshed tears. “You’re more than I’ll ever deserve. I love you too.” This time, she initiated the kiss, only parting from him when the snarls of walkers were getting too close. She glanced over her shoulder and then over his. “That our ride?”

“Sure is.” He grinned, getting to his feet and offering her his hand. She let him pull her up but didn’t let go, lacing her fingers between his. 

“Let’s go home.”

Daryl nodded, not giving France a single parting glance as he walked toward the water with Carol at his side. 

He didn’t need to go home. She was already there.

Actually, one more thing about q!sandduo. What gets me really insane about them is that both of them apologised to each other with the hour. Like Phil apologises for snapping and Wilbur for implying that Phil doesn’t care “It is serious isn’t it?”.

The only real struggle they had was the emotional disconnect. The has been dealing with this for a month and has learned to cope while doing everything he can to get the kids back vs. Only just found out about the kids being missing and doesn’t understand why everyone isn’t freaking out as much (at first without knowing it’s been a month).

But then they take time to reflect and start to get the other viewpoint back they are trying to understand each other and they kinda need each other since the rest of their family is missing.

Also some details I got from watching Phil’s vod: he’s purposely stalling telling Wilbur and claiming he’ll do it when Wilbur comes to him (which is also for RP reasons, but shhhh), sent Niki to hang out with Wilbur and kinda distract him “fill him in but don’t tell him about the eggs”. When learning about the eggs, Wilbur first asks about Chayanne and then Tallulah -> naive hope that may it’s all the eggs except Phil’s. (Btw Phil often checks where Wilbur is throughout the stream which could be seen as a cc thing, but can also be incorporated as q!Phil thing aka looking out for his son (I think that’s cannon?) / being overprotective . Lastly, Phil is the one to apologise first and only after that does Wilbur apologise. (Also both of them asking each other how they are and claiming they are fine when they aren’t)

the thing about sandduo is that no matter what universe they're in they're always going to have an emotional disconnect. they always try to understand each other but can never quite bridge the gap between them. but they try.

both of their viewpoints during that argument made perfect sense. later they both self reflect, wilbur less so and phil more so, but they both apologize in the end.

oh that's interesting i didn't know phil purposefully told niki to stall wilbur and not tell him about the eggs. it makes sense. he didn't want to have wilbur find out from someone else. probably just made it worse in the end though for him to find out in that damn maze of all places.

(also technically q!sandduo being father and son is... not exactly canon but it's not not canon? canonically what we know is on the train to the island wilbur saw phil and was like "huh he's dad shaped" and phil saw wilbur and was like "huh he's son shaped" and the two just got a found family father son dynamic out of it. but technically they're not related and haven't even known each other that long. i honestly kind of like the interpretation that they're closer to just being friends who have this strong almost familial connection to each other but aren't quite sure what to do about. idk I think it's an interesting alternative dynamic to sandduo we don't normally see, and this is coming from the resident sandduo enjoyer so. idk it's fun to look at them from different angles!)

AITA for keeping something important about his family from my friend? Kinda long but I wanted full context

So, I (19M) have this friend (22M), who we’ll call CO, and I really care about him! Frankly he and the rest of our crew are family to me. We had some issues in the past about me lying to him and generally deceiving him— he’s from another culture, so I would do shit like lie and tell him incorrect details about “what we do around here” as a joke/prank. Yeah, I was the asshole there, I know. We had a massive fight about it (he totally kicked my ass tbh) but it’s cool now!

Since that fight I promised him that I wouldn’t deceive him anymore. Loyalty and honesty are really important to him. I’ve tried my hardest to not lie to him or keep things from him, even when it would be so much easier to lie and it wouldn’t hurt him. But then… something came up.

So CO has a sister (28F) who he really loves and trusts with all his heart. I know he thinks the world of her and cares about her deeply. From what I can tell she’s pretty much the only remaining close family he has.

Without getting into too many details, the crew and I are also fighting against this major military organization who are major assholes, tyrannical, etc. We’ll call ‘em Blue.

A little while back I kind of… scryed on CO’s sister from a distance and I saw her with a MAJOR leader of Blue. Like, one of the top most authority. We talked and she begged me not to tell CO. It seems like she’s acting as a spy but it’s also a bit suspicious— idk, really. Either way, she said she couldn’t really react or talk long without putting herself in danger and the scry ended.

Things were not going great for us back then and CO was in a really bad vulnerable place— he’d lost his pet that he’s had since he was a kid and we didn’t know where she was. I didn’t want to make things worse and kick him when he’s down so I didn’t say anything. I couldn’t keep it to myself, though, so I told our mutual friend (21F).

It’s been a few weeks since the call (I think? The timeline got a bit blurry, especially for us). Earlier today we bought these sort of mind-reading bracelets and he accidentally found out everything from me.

He’s pissed I kept this from him, that our friend knew before him, and feels like we don’t trust him, since we didn’t tell him about it. He’s also really worried about his sister.

I honestly DID want to tell him but there just wasn’t a good chance. First he was in a bad spot, then he went missing for a bit (long story)— Once he was back I wasn’t sure how to bring it up. He’s really impulsive and I knew he’d be really emotional and reactive about it. But I figured we wouldn’t be able to do anything about it, especially back then, so why stress him out about it? Ignorance is bliss and all that.

I apologized and explained my perspective, but it didn’t really work well. He argued that he deserved to know anyway and that he would’ve told us if it was our family members, and it wasn’t up to me to decide whether he should know or not.

I wanna make it up to him. I’m already working on something to try and fix this and properly apologize, *his* way but. I guess I’m still just torn…. I genuinely thought I was doing what was best at the time and I wasn’t trying to lie. AITA?

okay like. i didn't know what to pick for the director's cut ask game because skdjbfkjdbgf i wanted smth from penumbra but combing through a nearly 400k fic is to pick 500 words is impossible. so idk i kind of picked a hurt/comfort scene at random (or randomish--i do love hospital scenes hehe) ---

Suddenly a flurry of emotions flooded his eyes. He was looking at her more frantically now as he tentatively caressed her cheek and then lightly ran his hand over her arm. She patiently let him check her over again and again, giving him time to reassure himself that her own injuries were really gone. While she wished he would have more concern for himself after everything he’d gone through, a loving warmth still bloomed in her chest at the affectionate and careful touches he was giving her. When he finally settled on leaving his hand cupping her cheek, she leaned into the nervous touch. She’d missed these small loving gestures from him so much, the feel of his fingertips brushing her skin as though she was the most precious thing. He was looking at her again with so many emotions and thoughts flickering through his eyes.

“Marinette…”

His lip trembled as he was unable to say anything more than her name, but for her that was enough. His eyes became downcast as he struggled with all that had to be going through his mind. She knew she couldn’t even begin to understand all that he was going through and all that he would continue to face from here on, but she was going to stay with him nonetheless.

“I’m okay.” she said softly, “You need to focus on yourself right now. Speaking of, you should really be lying down. You need to rest.”

She felt the tremor that went through him as he answered, “N-No, I...I don’t want to sleep…Please don’t let them make me sleep...”

Marinette observed him for a moment. He was still frightened, his anxiety still eating away at him as he tried to find some reprieve in her embrace. But he was a lot more subdued than the panic he had awoken in.

“It’s okay, they won’t do that as long as you’re not doing anything that’s going to make your injuries worse.” she told him gently, “You just need to try and stay calm, alright? And if you feel yourself panicking then just let me know. Can you do that for me?”

Marinette remained steady as Adrien started to lean on her more heavily. He pressed himself into her as though she were the shelter he needed against some invisible storm. He gave a faint nod, letting her know that he’d understood what she’d asked of him.

His words passed as a quiet whimper from his lips, “Don’t leave me alone. ”

Marinette tenderly brushed his blond hair back from his face, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead as she wrapped both of her arms around him.

“I’m not going anywhere.” she assured, “I promise.”

So this is an incredibly raw and emotionally charged scene towards the end of Penumbra. These kids have just gone through hell for each other and they both blame themselves for it. They've learned though, and this is their true starting point for healing - especially for Adrien.

Adrien has taken so much damage at the hands of others - from people who claimed to care for him - that he is absolutely mortified at the thought of hurting Marinette. And he did hurt her. Even if he wasn't in the best state of mind or in control of himself, he still caused her harm.

He is terrified in this moment - of what he's done and what can still happen. He's already made the devastating choice of letting go of his mother and separating himself from his father. But he could still loose Marinette.

Marinette is challenging that fear though. She stays with him and is patient, giving him all the time to reassure himself that she really is there. She's learned to let him lead in these fragile and vulnerable moments because he needs someone to go at his pace. While hse can't fully understand his trauma, she can be understanding and compassionate towards him. She loves him so deeply and shows this in the smallest of ways - by just being close by and listening to his words and paying attention to his cues - but these ways have the deepest meaning for Adrien.

Even in his terrified, broken, vulnerable state, he loves and trusts Marinette enough to let himself just be that. So much so, that he is able to vocally express to her "Don't leave me alone" - something that he has struggled again and again to express because of the abuse and trauma he's lived through.

And Marinette meets his fear with love. She's continually met every side of him with love. She is set on loving him openly and freely, just as he has done for her.

Because loving each other is also loving the broken and messy parts while also helping each other become the best version of themselves.

And I love his “i went from nothing to nothing line” and how he’s just so glad he was able to save somebody. 🥹 it captured that part of his character so well and tbh the same goes for all the others (me @ ruby rn is going “bitch is you BLIND”). It’s a really neat touch to the chapter!!

I can't tell if you've read the epilogue yet, but either way I am injecting every keysmash in this message directly into my veins. Your reviews were one of the things I most looked forward to when writing a new chapter - I was excited to see which lines you'd specifically comment on. Misdiagnoses stop missing the point of everything challenge.

“He admitted Lucas was doing the same as Mike & Dustin wasn’t hanging out with them, but he was only mad at Mike.” Okay, but consider this: maybe Dustin was off on his own adventure largely BECAUSE his friends weren’t showing interest once he returned from camp? Maybe he WAS also upset at Lucas for not caring about his D&D game, but mad at Mike specifically because while Lucas was still hanging out with his friends, Mike was clearly not doing a very good job of balancing his relationship with El and his friendship with Will and was truly acting out character in unhealthy and toxic ways? And perhaps, idk, there’s a reason why the Duffers emphasize his frustration with Mike… because he’s in love with him? And because Mike promised to go crazy together with Will in S2? And because this is a romantically coded scene? And because D&D has always been symbolic of Mike and Will’s friendship/relationship in a heightened, unique, and specific way? Consider the fact that immediately following this argument in the rain (a common romantic trope), Will immediately went and destroyed Castle Byers: his sanctuary, his refuge, a symbol of his childhood. And Mike, a boy who notoriously hates apologizing, biked across town in the rain to apologize. Maybe there was a point to that?

“He was bashing El just for existing.” Okay, but consider the fact that he wasn’t really calling El stupid; he barely knew her at this point and certainly had no malice in his heart towards her. Consider the fact that this was a reflection of his emotional trauma and frustration as a queer kid, watching all his friends get girlfriends from the sidelines in a “summer of love” and watching the boy he’s in love with push him away. Consider the fact that when Will says, “You’re destroying everything and for what,” it goes way deeper than Mike not wanting to play a singular game of D&D or Mike simply dating El. Consider the fact that his emotions and feelings of isolation are fully valid. Or just say you’ve never experienced the pain of being an outsider before and go.

“Mike didn’t raise his voice at all until Will called El stupid.” Okay, but consider the fact that Mike’s initial reaction was bizarre, unhinged, and completely uncalled for when you interpret things through a Mlvn perspective. Your best friend calls your girlfriend ‘stupid,’ so your first instinct is to say, “It’s not my fault you don’t like girls”? (while also being unaware of Will’s feelings or sexuality, mind you. Like yeah he was aware that Will was bullied his whole life, but in this context, it still doesn’t make sense). Saying “It’s not my fault you don’t have a girlfriend” would’ve been more of an intuitive thing to say. Defending El specifically would’ve made sense too, as in, “El’s not stupid. She’s an amazing girl with beautiful brown eyes who is creative and kind, and I love her so much.” Saying, “It’s not my fault you don’t like girls,” implies more of a hidden insecurity on Mike’s part, not Will’s. It implies that sexuality, the concept of “liking girls,” and perceived heteronormativity are on MIKE’S brain. Will was just asking why they weren’t close friends like they used to be.

“I’ll forever be on Mike’s side of this argument.” Well, that’s a sign that you, and the hundreds of people who liked the post, don’t really understand what Stranger Things is about. Cause while you CAN enjoy the show obviously, the show is not FOR you. It’s not about how Mike pushing aside his oldest friend and changing his interests to exclusively make out with his superpowered girlfriend and do nothing else is somehow a good, justified thing. It’s for outcasts and ‘losers’ and people who are different, and clearly the Duffers intended viewers to sympathize with Will and be on his side here.

🫧🐟📝Hi hello! Welcome aboard!! So yeah, I know I was going to make a headcanon version of LJ but I couldn’t resist making headcanons for the DCA (daycare attendance)!! So yeah, here it is. Some won’t (?) make sense due to me changing the story, but hope that’s fine :3 and yeah, these are just mainly in general hcs, but also random and interaction stuff, btw if your looking for more just ask me in my inbox! This post is also going to be separated by DCA’s!! So this is part one. ~ Debvin!

In General???

Okay, just to get this straight, all of their heights are at 7 ft tall. Why? Because I said so.

Because of his height, he’s like really lanky. I mean all of them are so.. not much of a difference.

His name is Sun, just Sun, NOT Sundrop. He doesn’t really mind it if your calling him the candy name, same goes for the others. He actually kinda finds it amusing. The candy name is to just not get him and the others get mixed up with the ACTUAL sun and moon.

Based off the game little battery system, I’m assuming same thing goes for Sun that he has to charge… again, for others as well.

Except, you know how he has to be ON and Moon cannot? And you know how he’s the ONLY ONE taking care of the loud ass kids at the daycare?

Yeah, this POOR ROBOT IS TIRED. He’s also technically dying a bit and getting his energy drained.

He sometimes snaps at kids, acts fucking insane but tries to act cheerfully.

Sun is trying his best to be happy go lucky, I swear he’s really trying.

Actually growls. Not the seductive growl your expecting (sorry Sun simps), but the “GRRRRR RAGHHHHHAYAY RUFF RUFURFU SNARL, SNRAL” rabies dog growl. He does this when he’s stressed.

Sometimes when he’s stressed he curls up into a ball and rocks back n forth at a corner. I don’t even know how I came up with this one.

PULLS stuff out of nowhere, always comically large.

His little sunrays shifts a lot depending on his emotion and feeling.

The only music he has listened to is his daycare music. Nothing else. Would love it if you introduced him to something else though.

A lot of the employees neglect him.

With Kids

Plays with the kids a lot, I mean I don’t know what your expecting he’s the only one that plays with them.

Because it’s little kids they’re going to be dirty.

Sun despises that but tries his best to clean up.

Most of the time kids are afraid of him. (His canon version, but in my hc version they aren’t due to my design change.)

Has scribbles, stains, and handprints all over him.

As much as Sun tries to clean himself after the terrible incident of kids rubbing disgusting things on him, he eventually gave up and went insane.

Not too insane, but clean freak insane. (Clean freak but doesn’t even clean his own room).

References a lot of theatre stuff to the kids, they don’t understand him at all.

With Moon (before corrupted)

FUCKING LOVED HIM BUT ALSO HATED HIM.

In a platonic way ofc, I hc all three of them as brothers.

Appreciated his entire being because that means he can go to resting mode and build up his energy for the next day.

Also didn’t appreciate him at the same time because he says unnecessary stuff to him in their little mindset (which I will explain how that works in another post).

Ohhh, if he could have his brother in a separate body he would hug him then go world-star on him by beating the absolute shit of out of him.

Whenever it was time for Sun to take turn, his body is just covered in stacks of blankets that causes him to overheat a lot.

With Moon (after corrupted)

Missed him a lot, didn’t realize how much he wanted his brother back.

Because he had to stay in light all times, he wasn’t able to transform back into his brothers body anymore due to how dangerous he was.

Because they are programmed into the same body, Sun’s programming was also slowly getting a virus and corrupted.

When everybody else is gone, sometimes he finds somewhere dark, but not TOO dark to plug a nightlight that his brothers face on there.

The purpose of this was to let his corrupted brother see what’s going on, but because it’s not fully dark he isn’t in control and is slowly getting hurt from the light.

Corrupted moon thinks Sun is damaging him on purpose, when Sun just wants to show how much he misses his brother.

Corrupted moon somehow doesn’t have access to the mindset space, so Sun and Eclipse can think freely without him.

Angst hehe

With Eclipse

Doesn’t actually interact with him that much.

Sun kinda wishes he was more like Eclipse, because he’s much more calm and nicer than he is.

Kinda is jealous of him in a way??

I’ve been there Sun, being jealous of your sibling for doing sm better ☹️

Talks to him in mindset space but Moon always butts in and interrupts.

The only person that was there for him when he was going insane.. ☠️

Wished he got to talk more with Eclipse, but their interactions varied little.

Oh wow I don’t know if I can answer this 😅 There are lots of songs I consider to be really good but perfect? I don’t know. If it was done perfectly it would have to be sung by either Layne Staley or Chris Cornell. I’m sorry. Maybe I’m biased but those men were absolute legends.

abelia ⇢ do you have a particular piece of jewelry you always wear or can’t part with?

I don’t wear jewelry often but one piece I can’t part with is a bracelet I bought at a summer camp when I was seven. I love how it’s made and it’s very nostalgic for me. I’m surprised it’s lasted this long. Another piece I can’t part with was my great grandmother’s red heart necklace that she wore all the time. It has a few jewels missing but that’s okay.

I’d say music and other people’s art. It gives me a lot of inspiration. You guys have no idea how many animatics are playing in my head when I listen to music 💀

When ideas come to me, I either make a mental note or if it’s really good I’ll write it down so I don’t forget.

When I was a little kid, I was kinda loud, a lot less shy, and spoke my mind. I still do but not as openly. I didn’t start becoming introverted and shy until i was around 11 or 12. I’ve always had anxiety but it didn’t really start getting bad until that time period. And it’s just snowballed from there 🫠

I had a huge imagination back then and I was very creative. I came up with my own stories and made paper “books”. Way before I knew about OCs or fanfiction. Should’ve been a sign I guess.

From the time I was like 9-13 I was so cringe and annoying. I probably got on a lot of people’s nerves lmao. I was a weird kid. I’m still weird but’s a different weird. Idk how to explain it.

I have changed a lot but I still have some of the same interests and hobbies. My personality is definitely different though.

ivy ⇢ what are your ‘tells’ for your emotions and moods? how can someone tell you’re happy, annoyed, upset or tired?

My face is definitely a dead giveaway. Like if I’m upset or mad at a situation you can definitely tell. When I’m happy, I get excited and my voice gets higher. When I get embarrassed or flustered, I blush and turn really red, sweat, or stutter. I hate it 😭 When I’m tired, my eyes are droopy and I’ll prop my head up on my arm. I’m usually not in a good mood at all when I’m tired.

I also have a resting bitch face so people usually just assume I’m either mad or sad all the time. Like one time I was just sitting peacefully minding my own business and this random old lady came up to me and said “you don’t have to look so sad all the time” I wanted to deck her 😀

Time to talk about

Saint Seiya: The Beggining 

a.k.a. Knights of the Zodiac (2023)

I’ve finally watched it! So here is me rambling about it (expect criticism)

LORE

I really think they should have made Seiya aware of Cosmos, gods and whatnot from the beginning instead of making him learn about it with the audience, it really is a lot to take out of the blue... 

Also now that I think about it the prologue with the Gold knights feels kinda out of place, with so much of the lore left out as it is. They could have talked a bit more about that, like actually showing Aiolos talking to Mitsumada and Guraad. Saori mentions the occasion later on but she could have ellaborated a bit more too.

I also have to question the decision to have Saori refer to Athena as if she was a separate entity when it’s a big deal in canon that Athena chooses to actually reincarnate as a human, as opposed to other gods who just possess new hosts. They could keep the “my powers are growing and getting out of control” thing without talking as if she was becoming someone else. 

And I’m not gonna dwell on Guraad and Kido having tech that can hold relatively well when fighting Saints (and gods?), but...blergh

CASSIOS

Obviously since they changed all that background they had to change Cassios too, but one weird thing is how mad he was at Seiya when Seiya didn’t even beat him at that cage fight!! He hit him twice and then ran off! Like?? It wasn’t even particularly humiliating, Cassios had just beaten him twice or something. Also odd to make Cassios this big obstacle to overcome (yes they had Ikki there in the end but they spent too much time on Cassios and he doesn’t even use Cosmos)

GURAAD and KIDO

So... Guraad was (somehow!!!) draining people of their Cosmos - which means she was killing them, right? or not? Cause if yes I think they really overlooked that. I mean, many of them were KIDS!!!! So Seiya finds out and he questions Saori about it, then we cut to a different scene, and when we come back they’re already discussing something else and don’t bring it up again, like?????

Was Mitsumasa ashamed of the kidnappings? Did he regret them or did he just regret Guraad’s actions towards Saori? I'm not sure. Again, unless I missed something (which is possible), this was overlooked. Seiya didn’t get the chance to confront him about it, cause Saori drove him far from there to talk (was it to protect her father? if yes I’m assuming he regretted it but idk)

Also not that I care about Mitsumasa, but it was kinda stupid how he got himself killed for nothing (yes he was trying to kill the enemy but then they escaped AND took Saori, so it accomplished nothing!)

MARIN

Poor Marin deserved a better mask. In fact, I don’t know why insist on the mask, even if they eventually decided to introduce the doubt about her identity, it’s been many years, I think she would be different enough not to be recongnized even if she was Seika. I think they could have given her something more too, like why she didn’t leave the island to help. Some emotional connection to Seiya, idk, something! Also in the end she and Saori could have interacted a little. 

I gotta say I’m a bit surprised Marin even made it to the movie though, considering how many characters were cut. But since they wanted to show Seiya’s training they had to have her, right?! I’m glad to see her, even if her scenes could be better. Where is her poster though??

(sidenote: there were some legit chuckles in the theater after Marin jumps off the mountain and Seiya laments he just got up there. Possibly partially cause in the dub it kinda sounded like he was cursing too)

SEIKA

I don’t get that talk about obsession vs. purpose. Yes I got that Seiya had to understand it wasn’t his fault that Seika was taken but that doesn’t mean he was wrong in looking for her, specially when he was finally getting close to the people responsible for it? I was legit thinking they were saying he should give her up, but fortunately they reinforced his wish in the end. I just thought the “obsession” quote wasn’t well applied.

I thought the bits we got of Seiya and Seika’s relationship was cute though. So not only we have Marin teaching Seiya but also to see Seika protecting him was cool. He called her strong (and kind)! Saint Seiya is usually not big on women but it’s nice that the male protagonist has such strong female presence in life.

SEIYA x SAORI

I think the Seiya x Saori bonding was rushed. They could have talked and empathized a little more. Him getting through to her when her powers were getting out of control was to be expected (a pretty common trope), but since I felt their relationship was rushed, it felt a little bit forced to me... or rather not forced, but it lacked some impact, I don’t know. Him using her own words about fate was a good move, but I think maybe they should have also emphasized, before he told her he was not giving up on her, that she was feeling desperate/lonely/hopeless because of her father’s (Kido’s) death. So then when he put himself by her side she would feel hope again for she was not alone and together they would find a way out of destruction. 

On a sidenote I know Saori is a goddess and whatnot but I think she shouldn’t be able to grow people’s limbs back, but okay I guess. Also I think they could have left her with long, straight brown hair (like in the manga) instead of purple

IKKI and OTHER KNIGHTS (and SEIKA)

Couldn’t they give Ikki at least a little depth?? He said that, unlike Guraad, he wasn’t trying to kill Athena to save the world. He said people don’t need gods, and he wanted the Gold cloth. But why? What is his goal? The movie doesn’t explain, and to a new audience, I would say that would be important to make him compelling. When he was taking the gold cloth from Guraad I gasped and legit thought for a second he was going to kill her (or at least try to) while explaining he was actually doing this to get revenge for himself and for his brother Shun - but there was none of that! That would have actually be interesting. In the og he is mostly there to avenge himself, right? But bringing up Shun would have made a good parallel with Seiya looking for Seika (which already existed in the og but with Shun wanting to reunite with Ikki instead).

This would have been setup by Saori explaining to Seiya she just recently found out that Guraad (and maybe Mitsumasa too) sent kids to train and grow their Cosmos and she felt bad about it.

ALSO in the end when Saori and Seiya are talking about looking for Seika maybe they could have said they would go after the kids sent for training as well. Saori would want to try to liberate them of it all or something, though at least some of them would end up joining her, including, oh I don’t know, the Dragon, Cygnus and Andromeda knights. 

Even if they didn’t show them, at least it would be a setup! Only focusing on Seika also makes me wonder how would things go later on, cause in the original that plot point is overshadowed by everything else going on - not like that is particularly good writing, but to give her such attention would mean adjusting the plot in a more or less significant way, right? Or maybe not, I guess the ocassional reminder could suffice... But honestly, there are zero allusions to the other knights, even when we could have at LEAST gotten a mention of Shun from Ikki. Or even vague mentions. It’s weird.

I’m puzzled on what would be the movie’s plans going forward (if it ever does).

Nah nah nah nah bc I NEED to know what hotch's deal was with fire related cases??????? HE WAS ALWAYS WAY MORE EMOTIONAL IF IT WAS A FIRE BUT THEY NEVER DID ANYTHING WITH IT SO WHATS THE DEAL WITH THAT HUH?? there were at least 3 separate episodes w/ fire plots, all pretty far apart from each other, and he had pretty much the same reaction to each of them that isn't a coincidence like you know the writers did that on purpose I just wish they gave us more info abt it. ALSO I wish the team like cared more???? BC it's pretty obvious that he gets way more antsy during these cases are you telling me no one notices????? Such a wasted opportunity for more character interactions and I'll never forgive them for constantly depriving us of this. I miss Gideon.

ok but fr?? bc it goes unmentioned by eeeeeveryone except gideon and unnoticed by eeeeeeveryone at the bau (except emily in that one ep but they still kinda hated each other so she didnt say shit and just kinda forgot about it, and derek in that other ep but only in the “im gonna act upset and blame hotch for his problems bc idk how to address my own fears/concerns/trauma when it comes to the way i care about the lowkey-suicidal kinda-father-figure bc i have problems” way) which is insane to me considering they’re all profilers?? i think it’s partly bc they unknowingly avoid profiling hotch (either out of respect or discomfort) and partly bc they’ve grown complacent taking hotch’s usual stoicism and “unmovable object” energy for granted as a permanent, impermeable pillar in their lives, almost to the point where they dehumanize him. they don’t like questioning their grounding anchor’s potential for weaknesses bc they depend on his unshakable solidity for their own emotional wellbeing. it’s much easier to intentionally overlook his humanity when they use his unflappability for their own emotional recalibration. which is fucked up for hotch? he’s really gotta play the part of the cool collected unit chief at all times. but then, he’s already used to putting his emotional problems on the back burner. ANYWAY thats just my excuse for why NO ONE FUCKING SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVER

it’s subtle—bc most interesting things ab hotch are vague at best—but he really does act different during cases involving fire. he’s on edge, distracted, less patient, snippy, or vulnerable in uncharacteristic ways. saying “i wish the writers had given us more ab hotch’s backstory” is redundant at best, but all these hints painting a picture of tragedy makes me want to know mooooore. like.. what were they thinking?? did the writers have anything specific in mind or were they content w ambiguity? it really seems like such a waste, especially when he’s clearly had an apparently very busy life. southern mom, distant younger brother, an abusive father who died in at least three different ways, coin collector, theater kid, troubled teenager, boarding school, apprehension towards fire, following his father’s footsteps and becoming a very successful lawyer, getting bored of that and joining the fbi, working as an ambassador’s security detail, working overseas, networking across a variety of positions in every place imaginable, somehow finding time for swat training and becoming a sharpshooter, joining the bau in record time, being the bau’s encyclopedia of random shit before reid comes around, carrying the responsibility of the team on his back while gideon recuperates… there’s just.. so much they offhandedly mention he’s done without ever really exploring any of it in further detail. it’s frustrating!! give my boy a proper backstory!!

Regarding your last post, I thought the same while watching the behind the scenes of the MV. This is not a shade because I myself am not fluent in English and still need to improve a lot but to me it seems quite obvious Jungkook’s English isn’t as good as some Army like to pretend (I’m going to get call names…). I would say he’s around a low intermediate level, which is perfectly fine, he has a busy life so it doesn’t let him a lot of time to study. I guess his understanding is better than his speaking skills, which is usually the case for most of language learners, but orally I don’t think he fully grasps all the meanings and nuances and the slang etc. I just want to say again this is not me trying to belittle his abilities, it’s only my opinion, but to me it doesn’t look like he fully understands what he sings… his face expressions in that video, it looks like sometimes he was a bit clueless. I’m not saying he has no idea of what he is singing, obviously he got a full translation before accepting the project but he doesn’t look like he truly "feels" the lyrics and immerge himself in it. Idk, for me it lacks something and that video made me a bit uncomfortable. I know I’m being a bit dramatic but I can’t shake the feeling that the industry is using him for cash and immediate success without paying much attention to who he his, his personality, his artistry. And another collab is on the way with Kid Laroi apparently… I’m losing interest. I want to hear Jungkook on his own, with a song made only for him and that reflects who he is as a person and an artist. I miss that feeling, seeing him perform so honestly, when you can see on his face and hear in his voice how much he feels the song, how deep he goes to find the emotions and bring them to the surface. I truly hope there will be songs on his album that makes me feel connected to him again because at the moment it feels like I am totally unable to enjoy what he’s doing.

I don't even know if he bothered translating Jack Harlow's parts tbh. I remember one Run BTS episode where they had to sing their songs without using English, so they had to translate some lyrics to Korean, and, apart from RM, the members didn't even know what the English lyrics meant. I remember J-Hope being shocked, like, "So this is what this part means?", which was a bit wild for me since it was his song. Tbh, I don't bother reading the translation to most kpop songs. I only know what the tts mean because most MVs have subtitles now. If not, then too bad... Most songs have boring lyrics so it's often best if I don't know them. It's different for the artist, but I still can't be certain that Jungkook bothered finding out the translation to Jack's parts although he's the type to. Maybe he was so busy he didn't bother? Maybe he recorded his parts and only gave his blessing to the final version which included Jack's verses, without approving the lyrics beforehand. He doesn't seem the type to control what other people write in their own verses. Maybe he was too busy to translate the lyrics and only did it later? All seem to be possible options. The fact that Jungkook had to be coached to do the right facial expressions and gestures for his TikTok with Jack made it seem like he wasn't sure at all what the lyrics meant - at least then. It also makes me confident that he doesn't know what "rain, rain, rain" or "champagne, confetti" really mean. I think Jungkook cares more about melody and the vibe than lyrics.

Anyway, I don't think the industry is using him. He's not a victim anymore than anyone else. He's making his own choices, as much as someone in the industry can. Of course Big Hit loves the choices he's making because he's doing so well commercially, but I think he's made it clear that he loves what he's been doing. And if he's letting other people make choices for him, the blame is on him too, because he's in a position where he can say no.

I also want to hear Jungkook on his own, but, unless he's truly being pressured into only doing collabs for whatever reason, these are the choices he's making.
