DSMP/iDots - The Conception V2 (Crimson NG)

A different perspective of my previous post, "The Conception." 

Though it was not noticeable, Bad and Skeppy were each holding one of the twins in version one. However, with having their backs turned towards the camera, the babies were not visible in any way. I allowed my family to have a first look of version one, and it was my mother who suggested I make a view where the twins were seen. So, with having the SAI file saved with the extra edits, and than some, I created this version.

Some notes:

No new tags that I saw this month, though as always I could have missed something! As you can see, we already have quite the assortment of canonized tags.

Fics are still primarily in english, but we have three exceptions with significant spanish fics. Karmaland (740 of 842 are in spanish, from 731 last month), Tortillaland (110 of 115 are in spanish, the same as last month), and QSMP (752 of 7,375 are in spanish, from 668 last month.)

QSMP also shows 39 fics in French, up from 30 last month, and 405 in Brasilian Portugese, up from 375 last month. While I did not check every language this month, I checked on the languages I knew had a fic in QSMP and we see 1 fic in ASL (probably a misclick as it appears to be in english), 1 fic in Bahasa Malaysia, 1 fic in German, 1 fic in Esperanto, 1 fic in Filipino, 5 works in European Portugese, 5 fics in Русский (Russian), 1 fic in Suomi (Finnish), 1 fic in Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese), and 3 fics in 中文-普通话 國語 (Mandarin Chinese, I believe), all the same as last month. New is two fics in Polski (Polish), one fic in Svenska (Swedish), and one fic in Dansk (Danish).

In the small and micro fandoms (under 200 fics), some of the most active small fandoms have grown out of this category so we only saw small amounts of growth. The standout fandoms all saw an increase of 6 works, and that was a tie between Content SMP, New Life SMP, and Witchcraft SMP. Note that Content SMP was coming up from only 24 works, so 6 new works is an increase of 25% of the fandom, truly impressive.

In the midsize fandoms (200-1000), Fable SMP has broken that 1000-fic mark and can no longer qualify for our standout fandom! Instead, our most active fandom was Evolution SMP, with 33 new works, followed by Mystreet with 20 fics and Minecraft: Story Mode with 24 fics. Mystreet and Story Mode are both new fandoms so it's unclear whether that's people retagging old work or true new fics.

For the post-canon big fandoms: Empires went up by 178 works, singificantly more than last month's 117, but not beating the previous month's 240, and Dream SMP's increase of 918 beat the previous month's 767, but is still only the second time I've seen this fandom fall under a thousand works plus a month. Hermitcraft is between seasons right now, but still experienced that holiday exchange boost, as its increase of 784 beat both last month's 574 and the previous month's 651. For active fandoms, traffic series posted a staggering 831 fics, which is its highest ever number, beating April 2023's 671 fics. QSMP saw 865 fics, which is part of a three month decline (894 last month, 913 the month before), but still posting numbers that are only exceeded by DSMP.

Overall, the number of fics posted under Video Blogging-RPF (the umbrella fandom that contains all MCYT) is 4,223 fics, a significant increase from last month's 3,489, and the previous month's 4,035, but still exceeded by October's record 4,702. Notably, it's higher than the summer numbers and almost exactly the same as the number we saw last January, 4,235 new works.

minecraft actually took over my life

I know what Dsmp is, I know Hermitcraft and all the life series, I know of Empires both seasons and of all season of the Origins smp, I remember Idots smp, I know what life-steal is, know multiple hardcore players such as Wadzee or NotNotBrook or even Beppo, I am simply aware of the building community, I know most drama that goes on in the speedrunning community and speedrunners not only such as Illumina, fruitberries or Punz but Couriway or Feinberg (the two names that pop up in my mind rn), then I am aware of TapL, Krinios, AjTheBold and I can name at least 10 minecraft youtubers from my country with ease

I feel /gen insane about minecraft men (mostly) and don't know what else there is waiting for me in life, like everyday I wake up and think of minecraft and minecraft men

My first skeppy video was him doing that challenge on the idots smp and vurb going “who’s the sexiest here” and skeppy hitting bad and lying about who he chose while bad did his little happy crouch while not saying anything, like he knew he was chosen even though he wasn’t supposed to. I got so many demons about them immediately

What are your opinions on skeppy and badboyhalo?

I used to be a huge fan of them back when skeppy was uploading daily, but I kindof fell off of them after a bit. The meetup was exciting for 2020 me, but considering how close they are with dteam they’re just some more ccs that don’t want to deal with the shit dream’s been called out on and ignore it.

My introduction to the dreamteam members was through skeppy and bbh actually.

I just stumbled upon the idots smp (skeppy, Zelkam, JustVurb, F1NN5TER)vods on YouTube and decided I really liked their friendship, bbh was added as well etc and while looking up more stuff I got into dsmp as well. This was what. Towards the end of 2020?

Anyway I used to really like skeppy. Both bc he's a person of colour and I felt like a lot of people ignored him and favoured the white guys instead and also bc i felt like yeah his persona is exaggerated but his antics were kinda fun ig. But there was a period where he stopped uploading etc iirc and my interest just kinda. Faded? After the stuff that happened with dream I just kinda avoided both of them. Then skeppy made some weird and questionable tweets and jokes etc which really just made me feel disappointed.

Bbh is. Idk. As a person he's kinda hard to figure out to me, but in general I didn't really like watch him. The only bbh content I've watched either had skeppy in it or was egg lore related. He's just kinda. Eh. Ig. From what I know he's a lot closer to dream etc as well so I'm definitely side eyeing him the hardest out of the two.

idots was pretty good and cute, I enjoyed when he started streaming on SMP's, one of my favorite videos actually is skeppy's first time on the dream smp which is one of the most misarchived videos, because skeppy uploaded his first time streaming on the smp as if its his first time on the smp this is skeppy's actual first time on the smp

Happy Valentine's Day, Pixies! I have no Valentine... tear. No, just kidding, I'm not bothered that I don't have one. 

Anyway, I finished this long before Valentine's Day, so I had something to post. It wasn't intentional for this to be FOR Valentine's Day in particular, but it works. As most of you know, I never typically post on holidays, national or not. 

An underrated ship, I must say, but there's a place for F1NN6d in my Crimson AU. a6d and F1NN5TER are the sweet elderly couple of the alternate timeline, though were never originally together in their heyday. I only have a design for aged a6d right now, so Finn's is sort of basic, unfortunately. Regardless, I think the art came out cute in the end.

The toxicity in this fandom/community needs to stop.

Jshlatt got doxed 8 times. People have tried to dox dream twice. Thunder1408/Jack Manifold took a break because of all of this as far as I’m aware. Wilbur Soot ended stream early because of chat.

The fact that I can go to a friend and say “Jshlatt got doxed again” and they wont even hesitate to believe me disgusts me. Its sad its a norm here.

All of its a bit. They all have personas. Learn how to separate their persona from the person. Learn how to respect the person. Learn how to be a decent person with morals and common sense.

Don’t send death threats to creators over bits. Its honestly sad I have to say it. Grow up.

And while we’re still on the topic, respect their goddamn boundaries. Before you write fanfiction or draw art see what they are okay with being drawn in or written as and what they are not okay with.

Example: Eret, Schlatt, Tommy, Tubbo, etc aren’t okay with shipping. Wilbur Soot doesn’t want to be put in NSFW works, as do many other people. Just because the dream team is okay with everything doesn’t mean the rest of the smp is. Do your research.

If a creator doesn’t wanna be treated a certain way, do no treat them like that. Tommy, Tubbo and Dream don’t want to be babied. Don’t treat them as such. nothing more to it.

While I’m still here it’d be best to say it, don’t shame creators for their body types or draw them completely wrong because of the excuse of “his mc skin”. Doesn’t work. Don’t shame Sapnap for being chubby, don’t shame Fundy for being skinny, don’t white wash Skeppy in art, etc.

You’re like fourteen. A creator is not going to date you. I don’t know why it has to be said. Do not send hate to the ladies or gentlemen they date. that is their life and its good enough they trust us enough to share that.

Don’t look for a creators personal info. Just don’t. Its disrespectful, its creepy, and it can even be dangerous for them in some cases. (cough cough dream cough cough) (there are many examples, I just think a good one is dream)

Don’t talk about other streams during a certain cc’s stream unless they ask. Don’t try to tell your streamer to do something else than what they are doing in their stream already? Don’t wanna watch a minecraft stream? Wanna see cc play among us? Switch streams. Watch vods.

My lovely og minecraft watchers out there, as someone whos watched mcyts for literal years, I think its time to say, do not send hate to newer watchers. Just because they started later than you does not make them a “fake fan”. 

One last thing to say. The fact that creators have to tell off their chats for being toxic so much disgusts me. Don’t try to derail a stream because of something another streamer is doing. Don’t say toxic stuff when a creator is doing a bit. DO NOT SEND THEM DEATH THREATS OVER SOME SORT OF BIT. Have respect and have common sense. Grow up.

I know this wont get to the millions of people in the fandom/community but, to those who it did get to, just have some respect and decency. Its not hard.

Lets try to do better guys. We need to.

Some notes

A new fandom this month! Showtime SMP is new, bringing this up to 49 tags that I track.

Fics are still primarily in english, but we have three exceptions with significant spanish fics. Karmaland (750 of 857 are in spanish, from 740 last month), Tortillaland (109 of 115 are in spanish, down from 110 last month), and QSMP (827 of 8104 are in spanish, from 752 last month.)

QSMP also shows 43 fics in French, up from 39 last month, and 452 in Brasilian Portugese, up from 405 last month. While I did not check every language this month, I checked on the languages I knew had a fic in QSMP and we see 1 fic in ASL (probably a misclick as it appears to be in english), 1 fic in Bahasa Malaysia, 1 fic in Dansk (Danish), 1 fic in Deutsch (German), 1 fic in Esperanto, 1 fic in Filipino, 5 works in European Portugese, 2 fics in Polski (Polish), 7 fics in Русский (Russian) (up from 5 last month), 1 fic in Suomi (Finnish), 1 fic in Svenska (Swedish), 1 fic in Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese), and 3 fics in 中文-普通话 國語 (Mandarin Chinese, I believe). While a 한국어 (Korean) speaker was recently added to the QSMP, there are currently no fics in 한글 (written Korean).

In the small and micro-sized fandoms, several of the smaller fandoms posted a decrease, including Legacy SMP, Bear SMP, and Area Unknown. HBG, on the other hand, posted a frankly impressive 16-fic increase, and both New Life and Witchcraft saw a 8-fic increase.

In the mid-sized fandoms, the showstopper was Minecraft Diaries, which went up a staggering 140 fics, which makes me suspect a sub-tag got wrangled into them. Pirates SMP and Outsiders SMP both saw 20 fic increases, and Mystreet saw an increase of 24 fics.

In the post-canon big fandoms, Empires went up by 188 works, which is an increase on both January's 178 and December's 117, but not beating November's 240. Dream SMP's increase of 591 works is the single lowest number I've seen since I've started tracking tags, being exceeded by both January's 918 and December's 767, which were the first months I'd seen the increase being lower than a thousand. 3rd Life, now that we're outside of a season, posted a respectable 558 fics, down from last month's record high of 831.

In the currently airing big fandoms, Hermitcraft saw that new-season boom, as it posted 716 fics, not as high as January's 784 (holiday exchanges), but beating both December and November's 574 and 651. QSMP posted 729 fics this month, which is part of a four-month decline (865 last month, 894 the month before, 913 the month before), but is still the fandom with the single biggest increase over a month. Incidentally, that means that Dream SMP is beat by both Hermitcraft and QSMP this month, and 3rd life is close behind it.

Overall, the number of fics posted under Video Blogging-RPF (the umbrella fandom that contains all MCYT), is 3,513 fics, down from January's 4,223, December's 3,489, and November's 4,035. Incidentally, it's very close to what we saw last year at the same time, as February '23 saw a VB RPF increase of 3,674.
