Week 2 Hiraeth and Water

I'm making a warforged barbarian and here's the rough idea.

Yeah thats the summary although I will change goedendarg to axe as it just fits better , they will be an older machine (as I tend to fail my rolls spectacularly) and have no gender (in their eyes they were not given one and decided not to have one ).

Poisoned rain

"The rain pounded against Magpie's head as she felt her wound burn, that wasn't her daughter , not anymore."

Well i have a bunch of lore i want to dump but that means typing that out sooooo not yet.

This drawing took 2 tries the first was a painterly and it looked a bit shit so i redrew it and it looks so much better.

like what is this shit.

ok have some LORE

A bloodwitch's blood glows red while they use their magic and may keep a mild glow when not using actively using it.

God blood on the other hand tends to glow blue or green depending on the god, if a god's blood glows blue then they shall use it for good often blessing the injured with it as it can rapidly heal severe wounds and blood loss however if a god's blood glows green then it works more like an acidic poison causing the victim to bleed internally.

Week 3 and an apology

Ok I underestmated my college work sooo i can't do the final comic as i planned a biiiiig ol chapter on webtoon so instead:

My oc Magpie about 20 years earlier in her life for the prompt Titan and Multiple

For some context on the college work, I found out I kept miss interpretating what my teacher ment by "your last course does not apply here" that was aimed at my 90% coming from A level class and not those of us who came from Illustration Level 3 (T level?) So after working the same way as my illustration I'm doing alot better and enjoying the new freedom of this course

I have an essay to do soo hmm.

My current brief is about status and wealth, so I decided to do a poll and have some how ended up drawing this stuff.

For context the old man was based off Elon Musk , and as most of the names in my questionnaire I held at the start of my project where of old white men (someone just straight up put old white men) and I looked at artists such as Barbra Kruger and Junji ito , and much like a big corporation these people are tyrants , Kings on a throne of cash.

Watercolours

(Above) Layla from genshin I know its not perfect and there are some mistakes but it was fun to make. (Arteza watercolour , India ink, posca )

This was the first thing I did with my lightbox of a story idea I had of two crows from different clans , the larger one was named Nemo and he lost his clan to an evil farmer and is then found by a new clan and crowed Nemo , the crows name themselves by rifling through rubbish and bringing the packaging to their king ( King Prime from a primark bag) who picks them at random from a pile , he is also blind making the names chosen up to fate.

Nemo 's name is from a finding Nemo toy

Edgar's name is from an old gcse poetry book, Edgar is the one with the skull sash (which was a bracelet).

READ FOR A SLIGHTLY AGGRESSIVE PORTFOLIO GUIDE ON COMICS ART

Ok so uni stuff can be summarised as so

I'm trying ok

I have an interview date for UOS 7th of December 2 pm

DMU want a portfolio in less than 2 weeks,

LAU want one for the 30th

On one hand my portfolio covers all 5 universities' requirements only a few edits are needed for most.

UOS and UCA have given me conditionals so my personal statement must be good, I can attach it if people are interested, the same with my portfolio.

UOS HAVE GIVEN ME AN INTERVIEW FOR THE 7TH AT 2 AAAAAAA

While doing this I have some notes about portfolio work for comic art:

0. Please include comics and sequential art

1. EVERWHERE WANTS LIFE DRAWING LIKE FFS IT SUCKS.

2. They don't like fanart , but love oc content so finally my sad oc drawings have a purpose but I'm also sad because I can't submit this:

3. They love sketchbook work so include some of it especially messy "bad" sketches if they get developed into a better piece.

4. If they don't tell you what they want it sent as : its by default a pdf (PowerPoint or Googles Slides will do) with 15 pages.

5. Your slides are not essays, get to the point. If its digital work say what software you used and if traditional what medium and if its a mix of both say that.

6. Show process from left to right if your university is an English-speaking one they prefer it as its a clear narrative of start to finish .

7. Also scan/ clearly photograph your work , it shows care and professionalism.

8. Add some contextual notes then talk about them more in the interview.

I did the photoshoot yesterday , I will probably do more but here is some highlights and edits

Also fun fact these were lit with desk lamps as our photography tech was in a bad mood and we didn't get proper lighting equipment, these still came out ok tho.

Also can we appreciate my frendo's patiece as that room was hot and he had a hoodie and joggers on plus hair down for this shoot , I will probably need to kidnap him again for another as half of the photos are blurry , also one of the directions I gave him was

The red tint came from just putting one prop of a lamp and being quick as those lamps got HOT
