Over the years, I've felt more and more alienated, excluded, and ostracized from the trans community. Like I'm barely allowed to be there. Often, it's not even due to my own feelings on my gender, but rather me telling perisex trans people intersex experiences.
If I say "hey, not all people who don't agree with their AGAB are trans. It's not always as simple as being cis OR trans," I'm told I need a deep look into my transphobia, that apparently I think trans is a "dirty word". Someone not being trans isn't transphobic!
I see perisex trans people using our existences and stories for discourse or debates, but completely ignore how we exist at any other time.
Here's part of an interaction I had with someone I used to consider a friend. Their post said "you're either cis or trans […] it's not that complicated". I made a comment saying how it may not factor in how, for some intersex individuals it is complicated (such as AFAB trans women or cistrans) or how some don't like using either bc they're perisex centered ideas.
Tumblr media
The following are some screenshots my friend sent me. She had liked my comment and the OP decided to message her asking what cistrans is.
Tumblr media
It makes me furious. "It's a little more complicated than that for intersex people" "not really?" Who the fuck are you to speak on intersex expierences? They had sent me a DM as well, patronizingly saying how my friend had a "misunderstanding as to what cis meant" 🙄

Very kindly begging ‘trans allies’ to stop forgetting about us and using non-inclusive language.
Just as a fairly common example I see here: “I wouldn’t know anything about dick because I’m a lesbian 🤪” okay but that has nothing to do with you being a lesbian. If you’re not into dick that’s totally fine but you being a lesbian is separate from that. You can absolutely be a lesbian and like dick or have experience with dick. Just say you’re not into dick and it would get the point across the same without alienating transfemmes.
As I saw someone say earlier (lost the post before I could save it, sorry), using inclusive language isn’t all about not hurting trans and intersex people’s feelings. It’s about making sure we’re not forgotten. And when you claim to be an ally but constantly and casually exclude us from the conversation, it comes across like you only remember we exist when you think you have a good reason to. “Oh yeah trans rights and fuck JKR!” And then you still constantly use cisnormative language and fall into bioessentialism.
Stop forgetting about trans and intersex people when it doesn’t suit you to remember. Stop erasing us. Please.

fuck it, im saying it
[pt: fuck it, im saying it /end pt]
okay. i absolutely LOVE the fact that there are a bunch of queer youtubers/ally youtubers talking about queer problems.
its super great, im not against it or anything.
but just the amount of intersex erasure and ignorance just makes me want to stop watching them.
because yes, children ARE getting non consensual genital mutilation. because yes, there ARE cis men with xx chromosomes and cis women with xy chromosomes. because no, intersex people arent just an argument for when trans issues come into play.
and yes, i know they dont mean to be intersexist or anything, but come on. stop ignoring intersex people and their issues.

I have to say this here because it wont get popular meaning it's safe here. We're often told that its "Boy" and "Girl", "Man" and "Woman", "Male" and "Female". Those are terms that exist and happen to be useful. Problems arise however, when we refuse to consider when one falls outside of that set A-B list of traits. People who arent a boy or a girl, inside or outside.. They often get the short end of the stick. Actually wait, no. One of them gets the short end of the stick-- The other gets no stick at all. Intersex people are often forgotten, never mentioned and its infuriating. When someone starts boiling you down to your genitals as identity, they expect either one or the other. What happens when you are forced to tell them you have some third option? Or your body simply said "¿Por que no los dos?" in the womb and therefore have both? You get either called a freak, pushed aside, or god forbid the first of people to judge are either parents or the doctor, They'll change that body without consent. It's entirely possible! There are 38 minutes left of nonbinary day as I write this. I write this because as someone who feels they are outside of normal "boy" and "girl", I find struggle trying to think of how it would be if i kept my nonbinary identity, and instead was born with the matching set I think about. I truly believe that I would have not lived to see today and that is abhorrent in it's own right. I have to feign being a cis guy in order to avoid certain people using it against me. If I truly could not hide and my body was,( and I can't think of another way to say this,) Unorthodox in the way I wish it was currently… I dare say I'd be left to the wolves. What bathroom do I use? None, i would be forced to either use a faculty toilet or simply hold it until i pissed myself and someone cared enough to sue the school. I also know that this wouldn't happen either because I was raised in a house where myin the barest, most skin and bones sense of the word "Mother" kept trying to define my Androphilic attraction (AKA I like dudes) As being anything but traditionally gay. I was declared "Multiple spirits" and "Waiting for the one" and countless others I won't divulge into. I am not to be made into an explanation. Homosexuality requires no explanation, and the same should be realized about intersex individuals. If one is intersex, unless it causes them psychological stress not to be "boy" or "girl", Should not be forced to entertain such thoughts. They require no explanation, Sex is not a switch labeled "Boy" on one side and "Girl" on the other. It is, just like gender, a multidimensional graph with no set bounds where your point may rest anywhere, wander around as it may, and even simply fall outside of the graph entirely. None should be forced to put their body or mind at risk because it's offensive to some inbred lawmaker on the Alabama state legislature shaking all three fists at "ThEm tHeRe [F-slur]S!". It is not your job to playcate these 40+ year old children because their mother's refused to fucking raise them. Freak flags will fly, and if someone doesn't like it? Oh well. Not like it's your problem to make them feel better because the world is changing and they can't f*cking catch up when they're left behind.
You do you, boo. ♥

yeah, even without watching the rest of that interview (though there is further emphasis in the other parts) it is incredibly clear that toby is speaking from a genderless experience, yes, but also very much an intersex one. once again asking why people cannot be normal!

Perisex trans women: trans people have intersex brains :333 thoughts? I think we should discuss this.
Some other commentor: I think this is insensitive towards intersex people
Perisex trans woman: ummm actually, I, in my privileged position, don't think it's insensitive. Since I absolutely have a place to speak on what is or is not harmful to another minority I clearly have little education on
Me: you don't really get to say that unless you're intersex. It's already a big misconception
Perisex: ummm reality is I can say whatever I want. Don't be a gatekeeper
Me: this is the same as a cis person claiming something isn't transphobic.
Perisex: you sound like the transmed of the intersex community :///
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mind you, believing there to be a medical condition behind being trans is the definition of transmedicalism (which, if the brain sex theory is ran with, would further gatekeep trans people), and I'm the transmed gatekeeper? I had also linked three different studies discussing the harm and need for separation, w like three other intersex activism articles from leading orgs in another comment, which were very obviously ignored, so that's what the studies were about bud, or whatever.
There was some other comment by another trans women "I like the concept of putting ourselves under the intersex umbrella" like please. Have you ever thought to maybe listen to us instead of just speaking. Do you even hear yourself.
Trans intersex individuals trying to exist in the trans community: / (own place being: finding solidarity and community w intersex individuals) / (intersexist) perisex trans ppl then joining intersex communities
Tumblr media
What do you think happens to intersex needs, rights, experiences, stories, fights and struggles when you flood the community (with a group whose activism is only similar in bodily autonomy, but otherwise is nearly opposite yours)?
Tumblr media
We get diluted. Our activism gets erased. We become more invisible. This isn't the "intersex version of TERFs claiming trans woman erase women" bc 1 the definition of woman doesn't mention it being an innate variation. And 2, 49% of the population is female. It's a lot easier to erase less than 2% than it is 49%
From the Intersex Human Rights of Australia, "conflation of intersex with being transgender […] obscures the specific goals of the intersex human rights movement". Trans rights is the right to say yes, intersex rights are the right to say no. Studies have discussed how "there is a need group to only those with somatic intersex variations due to their distinct medical experiences". Others discuss how the researchers "learned that researching intersex issues with greater accuracy would focus on people who are intersex. It would require the aid of people with intersex variations themselves as research allies and advisors, to capitalise on 'insider/ outsider access dynamics emphasised by intersex researchers, in order to foster more direct exploration of people with intersex variations'" (aka, there aren't a whole lot and we need to focus on actually intersex individuals).

equally as pissed abt RvW as i am about the hordes of brainless transphobic cis women boiling over with scathing victim complexes and are already screaming & thrashing literally any fucking time that trans men, nonbinary & intersex people are included in the talk about roe v wade overturning as if every person with a uterus is infertile unless theyre a woman🗿 and it's literally no coincidence with the dismantling of trans rights either since the attempts to quash our visibility & freedom are blatantly in hopes to enforce a strict gender binary that ties in with what the supreme court is doing to strip those of childbearing ability of their rights to their own body (shocker! not all of them are women like those christofascist spineless hounds want to think) + besides the fact these gonad-fixated perverts constantly froth at the mouth like rabid fucking animals when theyre told to respect someones identity & personhood for who they are & to stop equating someones gender identity to their genitals & reproductive functions (hence their tireless obsession of claiming "only feemalez get babies!! so femalez = wamen!1!!" with their reactionary gender essentialist views that always route back to supporting patriarchy & inability to understand the sex spectrum & gender identity as two very different things)
like i cannot make this up because its always shown one way or another that they are deadass as useful as a broken wrist with the way they constantly parrot & perpetuate that same patriarchal shit they always claim (and fail) to stand against if it harms transgender/intersex people in favor of the cisgendered being the only ones in the spotlight of course
but its so simple really (who am i kidding transphobes & terves thrive on being dense) stop thinking u can choose someones identity for them when all theyre asking is to be fucking VISIBLE & accurately represented in an era where we are also in peril from the overturning. times five with recent transphobic legislation. call it just a womens issue & you already participated in ignoring the plight of thousands to millions who are affected! youll either leave them out entirely as if we're all inactive inside or you'll drag them in the conversation only to misrepresent them as a ciswoman and reduce it to a gendered issue ["men cant talk about abortion at all!"] vs an entire human rights violation to anyone of childbearing ability
