sometimes the ghost of kelley puckett (he is still alive) haunts me. does he know. does he even know. he’s so detached from the comics community and he’s such a private guy (I RESPECT THAT WHOLEHEARTEDLY) that i really and truly do not know if this man knows how much cassandra cain means to us. does he know batgirl 2000 is heralded as the bible of dc solo books, as a lot of people’s favorite comic ever written. does he know how much we love cass. how we write essays over her character and how amazing she is and how she changed our lives. does he know how adored his writing is. does he know he wrote the best comics character introduction of all time. does he even. know.

like, i think what's happening is that plenty of people do find something approaching egalitarianism to be plenty erotic enough, but not everyone, because well a lot of us have very big gendered power dynamic baggage (among other fun insecurities that we also eroticize! cool!) but natalie experiences love as this engulfing, life ruining forbidden thing for UM A LOT OF REASONS THAT WE AS HER VIEWERS ALREADY KINDA KNOW hii, and so in making sense of other people's sexualities and romantic lives she mistakenly assumes that everybody goes that lana del rey for people but it turns out only some of us crazy bitches seem to

I always think it's interesting when people say kenjaku is right over what yuki's goal is. I can't tell if they think kenjaku is right because of how their fight went or for an individualistic view. kenjaku's goal of further optimization curse energy relies on even more chaos and even further creating a power dynamic of the strong ruling over the weak. the world that would come would be incredibly harsh, especially those who are weak, and shows with how inhumane the antagonists are willing to go, with no care for others for their goal.
yuki's goal reflects her greatly as it is much more about preserving more human life as possible. breaking free of curse energy, from her perspective, means that the random person on the street doesn't have to die because they weren't strong enough. they can be free to live their life or break away from the fate that binds them (curse energy), which is something that was at the core of her research into heavenly restricted individuals on breaking away from curse energy

I really miss elena. Like she was such a big step for the franchise and it’s kinda disappointing that they haven’t branched out with more diverse characters since then. Her merchandise probably didn’t sell well enough for them to think it was worth doing again which is really sad. I hope they have someone like her again.
