Cross'tooka a few weeks ago, you spotted this slightly malnourished and scarred stray tooka on your way home. He didn't seem to trust anyone and kept his distance but you felt bad for him and fed him regularily since you've discovered him. Over time you've earned his trust and even brought him into your home. While he secretly enjoys your company, he usually pretends not to care when you leave the house for work and just sits grumpily in a corner. When you finally come home, he's pissed that you left him that long. In his anger, he ate grass and threw up on the couch. Curiously, there's often a blade of grass sticking out of his mouth.
here's Rex'tooka, Fives‘tooka and Hunta‘tooka with Omega‘tooka

Blind Side (The Bad Batch)
Wrecker catches Crosshair for a heart-to-heart, and reminds him of something that happened long ago. Set between 3x05 and 3x06, ~ 1700 words, Crosshair's tremor, family feels, Wrecker being a good brother <3.
---
Dawnlight bathes the stone steps in florid pinks and golds.  Crosshair’s boots slip down the steps quickly, softly.  A few of the locals are up, fisherfolk down at the docks preparing for the day, but most of the island still slumbers.  It’s as he prefers it.
His rifle rests securely in his arms as he makes his way across the beach.  He presses it close to his chest as he makes his way to the little cove he’s started to think of as his training ground.  Omega’s Kaminoan droid waits for him obediently, carrying a basket of fruit.   Every rotation for the past week the little round droid has cheerfully met him here, a fact he is begrudgingly grateful for.
“Good morning, CT-9904!” the droid says cheerfully.  Crosshair just nods.  He grabs one of the fruits and takes a bite, then gestures out to the open water, giving the rest of the basket to the droid.  The droid hovers out, targets in hand as Crosshair finishes the fruit.  It’s extra sweet this morning, but with a sour edge that makes his mouth pucker.  It tastes like nothing he’s ever eaten before.  He thinks he likes it.
He wipes his hand on his side, and hefts the rifle.
It’ll be different today.  Just have to concentrate.  He checks his stance, his balance, his breathing, his posture, all of the things he has had drilled into him since he was a cadet.  For a moment, it almost feels like it’s working.
Then he lowers his eye to the scope, and his hand jerks helplessly out to the side.
He growls, a muffled sound of frustration.  He shakes out his hand, glaring at it.  He tries again, this time sighting AZI and the target, and the shot goes wide.
He takes a deep breath.
Again.
---
It’s an hour later, and his success rate is sitting at 47.2%, and he doesn’t know what to do.
It doesn’t improve his mood any when he hears heavy footsteps in the sand.  He turns, scowling up at the shadows cast by Wrecker and Batcher.
The hound leaps forward, wagging her tiny tail furiously, licking him on the cheek before he can stop her.  He pats her on the neck and apologizes while she wiggles in delight.  “I snuck out on you.  I know, I know.  I won’t do it again.”  He glances up at Wrecker, who’s rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.  “I suppose she led you down here?”
“Ahh, she was hungry,” says Wrecker.  “I heard her looking for breakfast and figured I’d join her, ‘specially since the fruit’s been extra good lately.  After she ate, she came looking for you.”  He frowns, squinting out at AZI.  “You’re supposed to eat it, not shoot it.”
“I’ve been told, yes,” says Crosshair.  He lowers his rifle cautiously.
Do they realize?  That I can’t --
He rests the rifle against the rock, and settles into a sitting position.  If Hunter and Wrecker haven’t noticed his little problem, he’s not going to spell it out for them.  He’ll simply need to find somewhere else to practice.  Batcher curls up beside him, rolling on her back until she finds a good spot, and promptly falls asleep.
“It’s a nice place, isn’t it?” Wrecker asks, plopping down in the sand a few feet away.  The loose sand sprays out in a fine shower beneath his weight.  “We’re lucky here.  Great place to clear your head.”
“Assuming one can find peace and quiet,” says Crosshair pointedly.  Wrecker guffaws, clapping him on the shoulder and knocking him half a foot sideways.
“Just as chatty as you used to be,” Wrecker laughs, his wide face creasing into a smile.  “We missed you, Crosshair.”
Crosshair blinks, surprised by the faint sense of warmth in his cheeks.  “It didn’t seem that way,” he says, and the words sit heavy and awkward between them.  His hand trembles against his leg, and he pins it down with the other one, hoping Wrecker hasn’t noticed.
The grin on Wrecker’s face slides away, replaced by an uncharacteristically serious expression.  Crosshair wonders at it.
Wrecker says slowly, thoughtfully, “No, we did.  I did.”  He shrugs, looking down at his large, powerful hands.  “Just wasn’t the same without you.”
Crosshair swallows, turning away to watch the surf’s edge.  Little waves lap against the shore.  When he speaks, the words are halting, difficult to get out.  “It wasn’t the same for me, either.”
There’s so much more that he could -- should -- say, but can’t.
I’m sorry.
I was wrong.
I wish things had been different.
He chances a look back at his brother, and Wrecker’s sitting there with tears in his eyes, wiping them with the back of his hand.
Oh, hell.
“Wrecker --”
“No, it’s --”  Wrecker draws his knees up, wrapping his arms around them.  Like that, he looks like an oversized kid again, even more than he usually does.  He sniffs.  “So.  Lemme ask you something.”
Crosshair hesitates.  “Fine.”
“Remember when I got my shiner?”  Wrecker gestures to the scarred side of his face, his blind eye.  Shiner doesn’t begin to cover it, even now.
“Of course I do.”
“Wrecker’s down!” Tech’s voice calling on comms, more informative than anxious.  Crosshair’s not concerned.  Wrecker always gets back up, always ready to fight again, he’ll just need a minute --
But through his scope, Crosshair sees what the others haven’t yet. A helmet cracked in half, Wrecker curled on the ground, bloody burns webbing over the side of his face, blackened skin peeling around a ruined left eye --
“Medic, medic!” comes a strangled cry, and it’s ten seconds before Crosshair recognizes the sound of his own voice --
“Yeah, that’s a hard one to forget, isn’t it?” Wrecker asks, chuckling.
“I’m glad you can laugh about it,” Crosshair says, crossing his arms.  “It was too close.”
“Gotta laugh about it sometimes, right?” says Wrecker, though his smile fades.  “But remember what you told me, that night in the infirmary?  After the others fell asleep?”
“Cross?”
He shifts in the seat beside the infirmary bed, looking over Wrecker’s good side.  Hunter and Tech have fallen asleep against the far wall, Hunter’s head on Tech’s shoulder.  They’d all been exhausted after the battle and its aftermath.
Soft beeps and noises come from the machines attached to Wrecker.  He’s covered in bandages, and the eye is a lost cause, but he’s alive, and grinning up at Crosshair.
He’ll be okay.
“You’re awake,” says Crosshair in surprise.  “They said you’d be out for hours.”
“You never can keep a good soldier down,” Wrecker says, coughing.  “But I’m guessing this was a pretty bad one.  You’re all in here.  That’s never good.”
“It could be worse,” says Crosshair.  “But not much worse.  This was… close.”  He reaches out, tucking Wrecker’s stuffed tooka doll more securely into the crook of his brother’s arm.  It had been sitting at a funny angle.  “Don’t do it again,” he says.  “I mean it.”
“I’ll try, but you know me!”
“Yes, I do.”
They’re quiet for a moment, and Crosshair rests his hand on Wrecker’s shoulder, almost absently.  The rise and fall of Wrecker’s shoulder with every breath is a welcome sensation.  Breathe in, breathe out.  It reassures him.
Wrecker pulls Lula closer with one bandaged arm.  “Tell me something, Crosshair.”
“All right.”
“I… think I can only see out of one eye.  Is that uh… is that permanent?”
No point in dragging it out.  “That’s what the droid said.  Sorry, Wrecker.”
Wrecker takes only a minute to digest something that would have destroyed Crosshair, had it happened to him.  The man is indestructible, Crosshair has to grant him that.  “But I can still fight?” he asks hopefully.
“Yes.  They said you should be out of here in a few rotations.”
Wrecker leans back against his pillow with a sigh of relief.  “All right then!  Whew.  We’ll just have to change things up, huh?  You’ll watch my blind side?”
Crosshair squeezes his brother’s shoulder, and he feels Wrecker relax.  Crosshair gives him a faint smile.  “Obviously.”
The tremor is back, hand twisting in his lap.  Crosshair closes it into an unsteady fist, grimacing.  It shakes for several seconds, then stills again.
“Yes, I remember,” says Crosshair.  “I said I’d watch your blind side.”  He glances up and sees Wrecker staring at him.  At his hand.  He freezes.
“You wanna talk about it, Crosshair?”
He turns away, a muscle working in his throat.  “No.”
“You wanna have AZI look at it?”
“No.”
Wrecker lets out a heavy huff through his mouth, leaning back in the sand.  He shakes his head, scowling.  “You always were stubborn.”
“It’s in my nature,” says Crosshair.  One of their old jokes.
“Yeah, I know.  Argh!”
They’re quiet again, the only sounds the water on the sand, Batcher’s steady snoring, seabirds on the wing.
Wrecker nudges Crosshair in the shoulder again.  “Look.  You know I got your blind side, too.  That’s all I’m trying to say.”
He nods, not trusting himself to speak.  There’s an ache in his chest that feels good, something he’d almost forgotten.  It makes his eyes sting.
There’s a sudden flash of movement, and then he’s being crushed by a Wrecker classic, a massive crunching hug that his ribs struggle to move against.  Crosshair lets out a choking sound, but his muscle memory remembers the only way to get it to stop: raising his hands to hug his brother back.
Wrecker lets him go and he sucks in a deep breath of air, hacking.  Just like old times.  “How touching,” he says, but he can feel the half smile on his face despite himself.
“Good talk,” says Wrecker, and winks at him.  “Come on.  Breakfast?”  Batcher leaps up at the word, all sleep forgotten.
“We’ve already eaten,” Crosshair points out.
“You used half your fruit for target practice, and I’m hungry again.  Talks are hard work!  Come on.”  Wrecker gets to his feet and reaches out a hand, beaming.
Crosshair sighs, and takes it.

Countdown to Hannah’s Birthday 2022 | 6/7 - Sniper Saturday
“You miss me? How touching.”
it’s time to talk about the snarky boy ❌ he’s been one of my favs since I first saw him honestly. Dave Filoni said he’s the Clone Trooper version of Cad Bane, and I can’t think of a better description for him LOL. although he’s a pretty quiet guy, when he does speak, it’s gonna leave a mark, much like whoever the target behind his sniper scope is. he acts like he doesn’t care about things, but oh boy, does this guy care about things. he’s also super competitive, which makes him butt heads with Hunter and Wrecker all the time. I think he has a lot of great leader qualities, and he’s VERY calculated; I would argue he’s the smartest of the batch next to Tech. I also believe his feelings about being left behind by the others are justified, and I truly hope he can reconcile with them (and himself) in the next season. he deserves some happiness y’all 🥺💔

Hiya... Since you're the person I most consider a specialist when it comes to Cody-related business, I wanted to know your take on what he said in tbb: We make our own decisions. Our own choices. And we have to live with them too. First I tought it was all about Crosshair and didn't think much about how it relates with his own plotline. It's not clear to me how the bio-chip works and how do the clones processed what happened on o66. So to me it's confunsing how much agency they have while they have the bio-chip still implanted.
hey, Anon!! i’m honored you consider me the Cody expert :]
so, some really important context for that line is the fact that Cody doesn’t know the biochips exist. while Crosshair obviously does, Cody doesn’t. he hasn’t had his removed.
as far as he’s aware, he shot at Obi-Wan on purpose. he thinks he did that on his own.
so, this line is not only a reminder to Crosshair that, like. ‘Hey. you are doing these terrible things and you are CHOOSING to do so’, but it’s also a show of just how guilty he feels about Order 66, and some of the early actions of the Empire.
the fact that he’s even Talking about this shows that he’s deeply regretful for things he’s done that weren’t his fault. he’s trying to reconcile with who he’s become. and Crosshair DESPERATELY needs that.
this line single handedly forced Crosshair to have to face the fact that being a soldier doesn’t mean you aren’t human. it doesn’t mean your bad actions aren’t your own. i whole heartedly believe it’s a huge reason Crosshair changed his tone later in the season, with Mayday.
Cody is someone who is deeply kind, and he’s always done a great job of showing that. most importantly through how he treats people under him and around him. when he tries to negotiate for peace, he shows his kindness. when he uses the names of his troopers, he shows his kindness. when he says “we’re here to help”, when he reaches for Nova, when he puts down his armor- all of it is kindness. it’s humanity.
that’s what Cody’s point is. he’s a person. he’s not a droid. he doesn’t understand why he shot at Obi-Wan, but he thinks he chose that, and he carries that guilt squarely on his shoulders. he uses “we make our own decisions, our own choice, and… we have to live with them, too” to force Crosshair to do the same thing that he does. (especially because Crosshair knows he has his chip out. there isn’t an excuse there anymore.)
and with that, he changes Crosshair’s life.

I just wanted an emotional moment between brothers and I ended up drawing something stupid hahaha.
I just want them to be happy.
Crosshair chose the gift for evil reasons, he convinced Omega, who had very innocent reasons and because no one says no to Omega.

Silly sketchbook drawing of a scene from @floundrickthewayfarer's short and sweet time-travel fix-it fic, "Homecoming". I kept reading it this past week for the good comfort but also because I'm very amused by the bit with Echo loopy on sedatives while Crosshair tries to reconcile that his brother did actually once have 4 limbs and a full head of hair, etc. hahaha

Please, if someone has the picture or the original post don't hesitate to put it down.

“Are you two finished?” You hear Hunter bang on the door. “We’re coming up on Kaller.”
Crosshair chuckles, pulling you against him before pulling up his pants, and kisses you.
“Yeah, Cross… are you finished?” You laugh when he pulls away to fasten his pants as you situate yourself.
“Sure am. Are you?” He pinches your chin so that you look up at him.
“For now.” You shrug with a smirk.
You and Crosshair have been together for the last year since you’d joined them as their medic about when Echo joined. You’d mainly joined to look after him for a while but then ended up staying when you fell in love with the sniper. Now, they’re like your family and Hunter knows exactly what you and Crosshair get up to in the fresher but doesn’t bother stopping it anymore. He made a deal with the two of you that as long as it didn’t affect the squad, he wouldn’t stop you two from being together.
You both exit the fresher with Wrecker chuckling at you and Crosshair as he lifts his Gonky.
“Entering Kaller atmosphere in three… two… one…” Tech speaks up.
All around you the clones start to attack General Billaba and you look to Hunter for some sort of explanation.
What is happening? And why is this happening?
“RUN CALEB!” General Billaba shouts to her padawan and he stops when he approaches your squad.
Your heart shatters at the desperation in her voice. You look in time to see the general drop to the ground and the clones continue shooting her. You want to scream at them to stop, but you’re completely frozen with fear.
“Stay away from me!” The kid points his lightsaber at all of you.
You can see the terror in his eyes and your heart breaks for him. Caleb takes off toward the treeline and Hunter tries to yell for him to wait but he just continues running.
“What… what just happened?” Hunter asks, clearly just as confused as you.
Looking around, you see the clones pick up General Billaba’s body and carry it away.
“The comm channel is repeating one directive. Execute Order 66.” Tech tells him.
Order 66… what does that even mean?
“Yeah, I heard that too.” Wrecker says, confused. “What’s Order 66?”
“I… am not certain.” Tech sighs.
“Echo. Tech. Talk to the reg captain. Find out what you can.” Hunter tells them then turns to you. “Are you okay? Do you need to go back to the ship?”
Hunter knows you’re used to worse but this… this is something entirely different. Something you’ve never dealt with before. You’ve never seen clones just execute their Jedi Generals like they were nothing.
“I’m alright…” You lie.
You know that Hunter knows you’re lying but you’re running short on time.
“Crosshair and I will go track down the kid and make sure nothing happens to him.” Hunter says then puts a hand on your shoulder just to keep you steady. “You and Wrecker stall anyone who tries to follow us.”
You look at Crosshair but he seems tense and won’t look at you. It sends a slight chill down your spine.
“Be careful.” You tell him.
He walks past you, and Wrecker even looks at you weird. Crosshair gets into moods sometimes when he’s cranky… but this… This was new.
“That… seemed off, didn’t it?” You ask Wrecker, just to make sure it wasn’t in your head.
“Yeah, it did.” Wrecker agrees.
You watch Crosshair and Hunter disappear down the hill and then wait for anyone to approach you. You’ll have to talk to Crosshair later. You’d like to keep your promise to Hunter that you wouldn’t let your relationship get in the way of missions.
A few minutes later, a couple of regs come running up. They seem different somehow… more alert… sharper… It’s unsettling. Almost how Crosshair was…
“Where’s the padawan?” The one in the middle asks.
You eye their guns. Are they really going to kill a child? Surely they wouldn’t… He’s their commander… That didn’t stop them from killing General Billaba, though.
“Yeah, don’t worry… Hunter’s handling it.” Wrecker tells them.
“We have orders from the supreme chancellor himself.” The reg replies.
The supreme chancellor? Why would the supreme chancellor want to hurt General Billaba or this kid?
“That’s great. But like I said, Hunter’s handling it.” Wrecker nods.
You can’t help the terrible feeling that’s stirring in your stomach.
“Step aside, trooper.” The reg gets impatient and brushes past Wrecker.
The second trooper follows and then the third stops to look at you.
“Who are you?” He asks you.
“I’m just a medic.” You shrug and Wrecker steps closer to you.
He accepts that answer and starts to catch up with the other two regs. You look up at Wrecker, still terrified, and he pats you on the shoulder, encouragingly.
“Hunter, you’ve got regs inbound. I’m getting her back to the ship.” Wrecker comms Hunter.
“Copy that.” Hunter replies
“We have a situation.” Tech’s voice comes in over the comms.
“Tell me something I don’t know, Tech.” Hunter replies.
“It appears the regs have been ordered to execute the Jedi.” Tech says.
You and Wrecker stop walking, looking at each other with shock and confusion.
“What? Which Jedi?” Hunter demands.
“All of them.” Tech replies. “They’re saying the Jedi have committed treason… I suggest you get back here.”
“Can’t… Haven’t found the kid yet.” Hunter tells him.
All of a sudden, you hear distant blaster shots in their direction and without a second thought, you take off that way. You can’t let them kill this child. It’s not right, no matter what “order” they’ve been given and who gave it.
Wrecker calls after you but you tell him to wait there and continue to run down the slope, just hoping you can help this kid in time.
You finally reach them in time for Hunter and Crosshair to be heading back your way.
“Where’s… the kid?” You ask, out of breath from running as fast as you could.
Running in the snow wasn’t the easiest. You’d almost wiped out a couple times.
“Hunter stunned him as he jumped.” Crosshair sneers, clearly in a worse mood than before.
Your head whips toward Hunter. “You what?!”
Hunter looks down at you, his helmet in his hand as he puts his blaster back in its holster. His expression is unreadable. He’s always been a bit dark and broody, but this was an expression you’ve never seen before.
“Why would you do that?” You ask him, angrily.
“We were given an order.” Crosshair continues walking past you.
You push Hunter’s chest, forcing him back some, tears springing to your eyes. “What the hell? He was… he was just a kid…”
Hunter sighs and looks up toward Crosshair who’s already further up ahead. Your eyes follow his and Hunter guides you back toward the way that you just came from.
“Something isn’t… right…” Hunter whispers, clearly not wanting Crosshair to hear. “I didn’t stun the kid and he didn’t fall off the cliff. He made it across… using the Force or whatever… I couldn’t do it… I couldn’t-”
You stop to hug him, quickly throwing your arms around him, and he freezes, confused.
“Thank you.” You murmur and then let go, turning around in time to see Crosshair watching you.
Without another word, he turns back around and heads up the slope. You know that whatever is going on with him, it’s definitely not good and you’re definitely going to find out what it is.

Thoughts... On season 3 ofc...
The shuttle!
So the guns on Tantiss are firing at it. And there are shots of Crosshair and Omega standing next to a crashed one of the same model.
When Hemlock is saying 'lock her in a cell', he's taking about Emerie, who had helped them escape.
I can see her leading a clone rebellion on Tantiss, possibly with Cody if he's being held there too.
Hunter's mirrored tattoo... They've flipped the scene to cut someone out. My guess would be Fennec or Ventress. Hunter's expression is a lot softer (I guess after getting Omega back) and his mouth doesn't quite sync up with the dialogue if you look closely.
There's the obvious dialogue cut when Rex is speaking as well. It's Hunter’s voice right at the end saying 'The Kid'.
I'm guessing Echo and Rex are going to want to raid Tantiss, Hunter refuses to help and both Omega and Cross, who have experienced what they're doing, basically say 'naw, we're in this fight'.
Also, that has to be Tech on Pabu, with the lines of troopers outside the Archium.
I can see him setting a trap for them when they return, and I can see Shep being killed trying to raise the alarm. Cue the residents of Pabu revolting and the entire town being destroyed, and that could be what pushes Hunter over the edge to helping fight the empire.
I do think that Hunter is going to die. And I think he'll do it saving both Omega and Crosshair. It will also probably involve him being left behind (like Crosshair trying to sacrifice himself like Hevy and Hunter shoving him to safety at the last minute) to complete the arc.
It would mirror when he was watching the shuttle take off with Omega when she was taken, but this time on his terms. It would also mirror him looking over his shoulder when Crosshair was on the platform on Kamino.
A month is too long to speculate hahaha
