Kinda find it hilarious how a lot of ppl compare Aventio to "Haikaveh but just in another universe". Although other than their designs having similarities, that's literally where the characters' parallels stop.

If we compare Ratio to Alhaitham, they couldn't be anymore different; throughout the leaks and what's already been shown in-game, Ratio is incredibly arrogant, overly ambitious and hinted to have hidden insecurities and dissatisfaction with himself despite having so many grand achievements. Whilst Alhaitham is comfortable with himself, his ambitions center with him living a peaceful and comfortable life (dude literally wants to step out from being grand sage and return to his dusty desk job lmao) and he's not arrogant, just mistaken as because he's blunt (and autistic)

With Kaveh and Aventurine: Aventurine is incredibly rich, a lot of people dislike him and don't trust him, has a shady ass and cunning personality, and he's arrogant too. While Kaveh's selfless and kind to a destructive point, he has a lot of issues with his self-value, and he's broke as hell. People like Aventurine Kaveh would fucking hate lmao. They do have something similar thou (apart from being both blond and fruity), and that's gambling with choices that could have high consequences. They're both risky when it comes to what they want, although Aventurine is smarter and intuitive with his life choices than Kaveh is.

Aventurine and Ratio's relationship isn't yet revealed much, I read somewhere in a leak post that their relationship is described as two coworkers who bicker and tolerate each other (I can't remember which post, it's in twitter).

I do enjoy the headcanon that Dr Ratio is a Haikaveh lovechild

Sure, i can try and give a quick crash course in kemeticism if you're curious!! (As a general disclaimer to any OTHER kemetics who might see this, im gonna attempt to keep this very layman-friendly, so if i skip nuances in favour of simplifying stuff thats why. I'll leave some resources at the end of this post!)

Uhhh okay so kemetic paganism is a neopagan religion based off of ancient egyptian religious practices. There are a lot of different ways folks practice kemeticism-- such as reconstructionism (or recon; aka strict adherence to the rituals of antiquity), revivalism (adapting ancient rituals and practices into the modern era), and eclecticism (for the sake of simplicity, we'll say this is essentially taking several different practices from many other religions and combining them all into one personal practice). I fall somewhere between revivalism and eclecticism, mostly by virtue of also working with Hermes and Loki, though my practice is primarily kemetic in nature.

In short, i worship the ancient egyptian gods-- my patron, or a god whom i am particularly close with and mainly dedicated to, is the cat goddess Bast (also known as Bastet, although thats actually a mistranslation of her name). Bast is known by many epithets, but one translation of her name is "Lady of the Ointments"; its written with the hieroglyphs for a bas-jar (aka a perfume/ointment jar) and a loaf of bread (the "t" sound). She's a solar goddess associated with protection, is an Iryt Ra (Eye of Ra; Goddesses who protect and nurture the sun god Ra), and like many (and i do mean many) other kemetic gods, also holds ties to fertility. In the past she was depicted as a lioness, then later became associated with the domestic housecat, where she picked up additional ties to motherhood; she also began picking up attributes from close association with Het-hert (Hathor), which resulted in further associations with music, dancing, and the arts. She's often depicted holding an aegis (a collar-like necklace with a deity's head on it) and a sistrum (a musical rattle).

She's a very fierce but loving goddess whom i have been worshipping for the last 11 years :] i also work with other kemetic deities-- of my "personal quintet," as i like to joke, i work with Djehuty (Thoth), Sekhmet, and occasionally Sutekh (Set/Seth) and Heru-wer (Horus the Elder). And, ofc, from outside the kemetic pantheon i work with Hermes and Loki, who happens to be my other patron!!

Im very glad that my formal petition to Bast for Jellie has brought those who have seen it some much-needed comfort, and its nice that its also made some people curious about kemeticism!! i gotta say, I have a soft spot for Mariusz Kwiecień (he was my very first Don Giovanni, actually - that Met 2011 production was the very thing that got me into opera in the first place!), he's definitely THE best 21st century Don Giovanni to me. Acting-wise he's absolutely breathtaking and even if he cannot compare vocally with the old giants like Siepi I'd say he was pretty decent (i'm so weak for him singing that one ✨andiam✨ in La ci darem la mano in falsetto - he always does it and my legs always turn to jelly in that moment). Saw him perform it live only once and that was the moment i truly understood what the word katharsis meant. fucking CHILLS.

I really, really love Samuel Ramey (especially when paired up with young Furlanetto!). That hair, the little earring, that insane stage presence and energy. Also I don't think I've ever heard another rendition of Fin ch'han dal vino that would be as precise as his. It's a devilishly difficult aria, especially when done in the proper tempo, there is quite literally no space to breathe, it's insane - god knows I'm not an easy listener and bitching about opera singers is my personal hobby; but in the case of this one aria I am very forgiving and I usually just expect the singer to fuck it up with no hard feelings from me - but Ramey doesn't miss a single note!

And of course, of course - Cesare Siepi. I think he's the most legendary Don Giovanni and no wonder really. He's amazing, simple as that.

There are many good Giovannis out there, but those free are my personal favourites - though bonus points for... Bryn Terfel. I'm not a huge fan of his singing but that dude can act. Not to be a mean bitch lol but he obviously wouldn't be anyone's first choice (definitely not mine) for a character like Don Giovanni appearance-wise. AND YET - he somehow makes it work... chapeau bas (talking about that Met DG under Levine - say what you want about Levine, I hate that bitch as much as the next person, but he's one of my favourite conductors for both Mozart and Verdi... yikes).

if we're talking specific recordings... I don't have a perfect one, I'll always find something that I'd change, whether it be tempo or a singer. But yeah, I'm also really fond of that Muti recording! The tempi are insane sometimes, some are even faster than what I'd set myself and that's honestly impressive, brave and so so sexy of Muti fr. I think if I had to choose just one recording, that would be it. The cast is also good, especially the ladies. Vaness as Elvira (she's absolutely stunning, also as Anna with the amazing Jerry Hadley in that one Met Recording - also with Ramey and Furlanetto - she's THE soprano for all Mozart roles for me, her Fiordiligi and Vitellia are also legendary), Studer as Anna and I really like the Zerlina, I'm so tired of squeaky meowing Zerlinas like Battle and the whole gang...

Another two I like, though perhaps more for the singers than the conducting itself, are the one with Ramey as Giovanni, Furlanetto as Leporello, Agnes Baltsa as Elvira and Gösta Winbergh as Ottavio under Karajan and one with Sherrill Milnes as Giovanni, Walter Berry as Leporello and Żylis-Gara as Elvira under Böhm. I generally tend to concentrate on the singers more and only really notice the conducting when it's so awful that I just can't look past it lol

Wandering through the glades of the Nature Reserves, you'll come across signage indication a retreat towards the garden's that make up Batcrook's menagerie of colourful characters and wonderous arrangement of lore that is always a joy to read. If you haven't taken the time to stroll on through Pod's Garden, you are surely missing out.

Oh the wonderful things I could say here, in this review. And it would not be complete without first starting with the ever amazing Pod. Seeing his character on Tumblr throughout the years, he's just one of the many faces you have curated to such a pleasant experience seeing every time. Even if you have slowed down in the years since, Bat your boy is always a delight to see. His art is amazing, and his compassion as a character is worthy of so much goodness. Pod best boy, only boy ever. As well as their Mith companion.

Only you would ever have me consider the beauty behind Snappers; and I am hard pressed not to enjoy them if their not down well. And I cannot do them well. However these three beauties; divine. Granny is first, and she is a wonderful sight. The peak of grandmother energy in this snapper lady, she would offer only the best of treats but ONLY with good behaviour. I don't know what her standards are for good behaviour but I'm sure it's not too high a standard... right?

You think Moggie has enough familiars? I don't think Moggie has enough familiars. At least not enough hybrids that she has somehow accumulated throughout her years. She is such a really good design for her occupation and lives up to her cat like appearance. In saying that, if she a crazy familiar hoarder, as opposed to a crazy cat-lady? Wouldn't honestly do her justice, let's be real.

The godliness that is Pavia's mere appearance is just. Chef kiss. Bowing at her feet and embracing the beauty that is such a perfect blend of water flight and wind. Even her name is just amaingly suiting; as a spirit herself she really just really is the definition of 'Snapper done right'. One day I hope to own a Snapper as perfect as any of these three, but it will be a day too far in the future to see. Perhaps a browse through the AH will change my mind...

Do you remember the reason I picked September? I sure don't remember, but I am very pleased by how simple of a dragon can look with an accent and a good choice of apparel. She's not too over encumbered by clothing and her genes are solid enough on their own that she remains here; appreciated and loved for her simplicity. Irishim still goes hard.

I know I said I would do only 3-5 dragons but come on. When you look at Kawataro, you really honestly want to look closer. To the fine details that make up this dragon. The vibes are solid, gives that kelpie creature like appearance that caught my gaze and held it so it wouldn't stray too far. Spirals like this just hit in such a way that leave me sort of stunned. They're usually dressed up thick and display the brightest of colours. But not this one. No he makes simple and natural look very appealing.
