January TBR | Books I Want to Read in January
It might be a little late - but here are the books I want to read in January!
Hi all and welcome to another post! It’s a little late, but I thought today I’d talk about some of the books I’d like to read in January – as picked by mini-golf. Every month I play a mini-golf game to decide what I’m going to read and you can see the video below to watch me play! The books I ended up picking this month are: Storygraph | Bookshop.org Baek Sehee is a successful young social…

As I mentioned in this post, I'm changing up how I do my TBR this year! I'm doing four bingo cards with 25 books each, with the plan to read them over three months. I'm still working on recovering from a reading slump, so I don't want to overwhelm myself right off the bat.
I'm super excited to try this method, and I had a lot of fun putting together my TBR for this first quarter!

I also have a few library loans I want to finish this month:
Marked by P.C. Cast & Kristen Cast (for a project)
How to Succeed at Witchcraft by Aislinn Brophy
The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson
Here's a full list of the books on my TBR and the prompts they fill for my 2023 Bingo Challenge!
When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey
Dawn by Octavia E. Butler
A Snake Falls to Earth by Darcie Little Badger
Wait for Night by Stephen Graham Jones (Shortest book you own)
Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert (Disability Rep)
Skyhunter by Marie Lu (On your TBR for over a year)
Obie is Man Enough by Schuyler Bailar (Trans author)
Wild Tongues Can't Be Tamed edited by Saraciea J. Fennell (Latinx author)
All American Boys by Jason Reynolds (Banned book)
The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska
The Kinder Poison by Natalie Mae
Here There Are Monsters by Amelinda Bérubé
Jackpot by Nic Stone
All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody & Christine Lynn Herman
Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno Garcia
The Dead Queens Club by Hannah Capin
Rouge Princess by B.R. Meyers
Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan

January 2024 TBR
I cannot believe that we are already in the new year. I have been busy with helping a friend move. I am also planning a huge reception to honor a family friend for getting an award. In addition, I am trying to find time to study for the last part of my CBEST. So far, I have passed the reading and math part of the CSET. The only section that I have left is the writing.  Typing all of this up,…

January TBR!
can I usually read 9 books in a month? No. Will that stop me from setting unachievable tbrs? Also no!
Hello! Brand new year, brand new monthly TBR! I’ve been making what I call a functional TBR (not because I think anyone else’s TBR isn’t functional, but mine has a function therefore…) since about September last year and I only completed it in my first month because I don’t read fast enough to read as many books as I assign myself, but is that going to stop me? Absolutely not. So what makes my…

Rating: 3/5 I finished A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught towards the end of January. I really liked the bantering dynamic between the FMC and MMC. However, I couldn't get past some of the outdated dynamics. Lol. Like...she's 17, he's in his late 20s, to name a few. I'll give it some grace and acknowledge it was written in the 1980s; however, there were some things I wasn't a fan of. I've been searching for historical romance novels more often than usual, and that's been my niche lately with books. I've also been looking for paranormal historical romance novels (I'll be writing a review about The Gardella Vampire Chronicles, a series set in the Victorian era that involves vampire hunters and romance). Idk. It's two things I love put into one lol.

📖 The Atlas Six (re-read)
Tumblr media
Couldn't focus much on Madam by Phoebe Wynne, so I chose to re-read The Atlas Six
The moral of the story is this:
Beware the man who faces you unarmed.
If in his eyes you are not the target,
then you can be sure you are the weapon.
