You had a breakfast together, and Haley really had a lot to say about Eddie disappearing on you the first night he was told to watch over you. You both look at your parents with shock, and you can't even believe what you just heard.

"Is it okay if I take her with me for the weekend? My band is gonna play out of town, and I would love for Y/N to join me" he smiled, and his mom aw'ed at his antics.

"Of course! Right Jeff? They deserve to bond, right?" Haley insisted, and your dad just hummed, but nodded approvingly.

"If Y/N want too, she can, but don't you have work in the morning, Y/N?" your dad asked, and you shook your head.

"Next weekend is my work weekend, this time I have the weekend off" you reassured him, and he nodded.

"Be safe, kids!" Haley yelled after you when Eddie dragged you up to your room for you to pack some clothes as he sat on your bed, looking at you.

"You look so sexy in those shorts, could you take them with you?" he asked, holding up some shorts you used to bed sometimes.

You chuckled, and smiled at him.

Thank you, thank you so much for responding.. i thought you would ignore considering i started off saying am a larrie..i hope that is the case, i hope louis really got it out of his system and healed.. i just hope he knows he is gem of a person from what I’ve seen.. you may disagree with me but i thought they were still together or got together after their definite break up(which most people does not think) in 2022 was because louis wore ‘maison’ shirt on harry’s house album release day.. now in hindsight it kind of pisses me off that he does such things.. supporting harry for his album though he has got over enthusiastic team to promote his work but harry did nothing to show his support for Louis’ album release(paraded in malls with his new person).. later in one of his concerts made a joke that there is no place for short kings in his house and dedicated the one song ‘sweet creature’ which i thought no matter what would stay louis’ to his sister.. its just unfair that louis loyal to a fault does not get what he usually gives to people..🥺🥺 and for some reason he has to face all these troubles from all directions(blacklisting, no proper team to promote his work)

For what it’s worth, I do believe that there was some contact between Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson between 2015 and 2018, even if it was just for strategic planning of their solo careers.

I do believe that some of the “coincidences” were coordinated, and Louis was talked into doing some things demanded from him (the Larry denial on Dan Wootton’s interview, for example), which turned out mostly to benefit Harry’s solo career. And whatever this stunt with Nick Grimshaw was. Maybe these were conditions set by Sony for Louis to be promoted in his own career; maybe he genuinely thought Harry would mutually reciprocate his good will.

I look back on Matt Vines’ following Jeff Azoff in December 2018, right as Louis’ judging on X Factor UK ended, and at the cusp of Louis’ releasing singles for Walls. What curious timing that was! Matt Vines doesn’t follow Niall’s or Liam’s or Zayn’s management.

I look back at the overlapped promo of Walls and Fine Line, and the probability that Harry’s promo was scheduled for his second album to be released in September 2019 (Rolling Stone cover shot in May 2019, The Face cover shoot and interview, and others) but pushed to December because the release of Walls the album was also delayed by Fizzy’s death in 2019)— the way that Sony stacked their release schedules to bury Louis’ album.

And, more speculatively, I believe in some contact throughout 2018 until Louis stopped it, based on various things. It makes sense to me from a songwriting and movement perspective. Believe it or not, there were blogs tracking their flights and locations to prove “the two week rule.” Larries’ boundless invasion of privacy was the reason they always smugly upheld Larry, until they changed their minds and told their followers that couples can spend decades apart, starting around 2018. It was obvious that Harry was in Japan for months in winter 2018, while Louis was in the UK, and Harry spent most of his time with Camille Rowe’s friends, Kid Harpoon, the Queer Eye guys, and possible new gf prospect Kiko Mitsuhara.

In 2019, Louis was still invited to perform for the Hits Live Birmingham concert (May 2019), and he still got a few spins on Hits Live. Capital FM had stopped playing any Louis Tomlinson solo music after December 2017. Louis did a charity performance for BBC Radio in 2019, but they played his solo music minimally.

I think Louis knew, after the announcement of the title of Walls was delayed so Harry could put out the Lights Up music video (on International Coming Out Day, same day as Just Like You), how Walls promo going to go. It would just be Louis and his team going up against the entire UK establishment, who are always going to side with the powerful and moneyed.

It’s funny when Larries say that Louis released Walls on January 31 for Harry’s birthday, because 1. Louis didn’t even remember the release day when he played the game with the Louie, and 2. because of what happened that day. James Corden had Meghan Trainor on Carpool Karaoke that night (her album was released the same day). While Louis was giving his concert in Rough Trade, NYC, Harry was filming a segment in Miami with James Corden’s parents, then preparing for his disastrous pre-Super Bowl gig that got flooded out, then having dinner with Rande Gerber at 1 or 2 AM in Miami, then flying to LA for a birthday party for Jeff’s gf Glenne where Harry was filmed completely blitzed. Very romantic of Harry, wasn’t it?

So I don’t think it’s plausible to think that Louis would consider disclosing any of his future timeline to one of his former bandmates just to be upstaged again, when his bandmate obviously had no hesitation tanking his first album (and staying quiet while his fans told Liam Payne to kill himself after LP1 came out). I think it’s pretty funny in retrospect to see that Liam and Niall had no idea— absolutely no idea— what Louis was doing professionally in 2020, which makes The Snuts’ comment that Louis is “quite private” even funnier. Obviously I think Louis wouldn’t be in a romantic relationship with Harry after all of this.

I think you mean that Louis wore a Maison Margiela shirt the day Harry’s House was released (I still can’t believe that Harry actually ripped off a Joni Mitchell title for a whole ass album). Gentle reminder that Louis has worn Maison Margiela for a long time. It is a design house with witty references that Louis has used to good effect. Famously, he wore a Maison Margiela sweater for the Walls music video (please read the post). I would think that by wearing Maison Margiela, Louis simply likes the designer or is referencing his own relationship to the designer rather than anything else. In addition, as I’ve already said, the idea of “Home” is central to Louis’ personal philosophy. As recently as 2021, Louis referenced the idea of home specifically in relation to writing Common People. I wouldn’t sell Louis short by trying so hard to connect it to Harry Styles.

In general, I feel that Louis’ music and his creative works should be considered as coming from a complete, intact artist who works for himself, with his own ideas, referencing his own life experiences, rather than in relation to anyone else.

In my headcanons, Toby’s one of the more quiet and empathetic creeps (although he completely switches up when he has an episode

And clockwork is headstrong, smart, brave, all that jazz.

They’re so siblings coded I can’t

(btw I’m not fetishing or infantilising Toby at all, he is in no way a soft uwu boy that fanon makes him out to be, he’s still a cold hearted serial killer, I just like to add different things to his character :>)

The way that they’re very different makes them perfect friends, they really balance eachother out- while they’re nice to eachother most of the time I think they behave like siblings do

Don’t even try and tell me that clockwork doesn’t do that thing where you go eye level with the glasses or juice to see which one has less so you can give it to your sibling.

I think the relationship between them helps but also slightly hurts Toby, because clockwork reminds him so much of Lyra.

The relationship is similar and (atleast within my headcanons) they look similar.

That’s the only thing that clockwork DOESN’T know about Toby. That he occasionally mistakes her for Lyra, thinking that after all these years, his sister is back and that her death was just a cruel joke.

The Mighty Zeppelin

How to start writing about something that was bigger than anyone involved, even bigger than its own creator?

In the Zeppelin realm, myth and real happenings merge together to form a bittersweet reality, that first made its leader a man of godlike status and then slowly killed its own divinity.

From its creation to the very end, Led Zeppelin has been a colossal, thunderous force that changed the world of rock and roll forever, architect of a sound considered underground at first, that proceeded to take over the world with its infectious groove.

All thanks to the ambitious mind of one gifted 24 year old.

After plans of an alleged band featuring himself, his longtime friend Jeff Beck, Keith Moon and John Entwistle got cancelled, Jimmy Page, then 22, decided to continue the path he was on with his current band, the Yardbirds, which quickly enriched him with brand new experiences around the world, for the first time as a member of a well-known rock and roll band.

He started being praised for his unique playing style, as well as the countless revolutionary ideas he was applying to live performances and slowly collecting for an upcoming album.

While in Los Angeles with the Yardbirds in May 1968, Jimmy visited a palm-reader and brought tour manager Richard Cole along with him.

“It was on Sunset Boulevard, not far from the hotel. Richard was with me so I’ve got a witness. The key phrase was, ‘You're going to make a decision in a very short period of time that's going to change your life.’ Within 48 hours the other Yardbirds said they didn't want to continue. I was disappointed – what we had going I was willing to do with them, whatever it was. I can understand how disillusioned they were, but I could see the trajectory. FM radio was happening. I knew what that meant to underground bands. I wanted an underground band, but one that would come through and make a difference.”

What would follow is a long, almost obsessive search for musicians available around his area, but after two weeks nothing had changed yet. Page then reached out to Terry Reid, a vocalist and guitarist whose work he had become interested in. Reid turned down the offer, explaining that he had already committed to go on the road for two tours with the Rolling Stones and another with Cream. He suggested to Page that if he were compensated for the gig fees he would lose and if Page would call Keith Richards to explain why Reid had to pull out of the US tours, Reid would try some things out with Page. It never happened and Reid told Page to consider a young Birmingham-based singer, Robert Plant, instead, having previously seen Plant's Band of Joy as a support act at one of his concerts. Reid also suggested Page check out their drummer John Bonham.

The New Yardbirds - soon to be Led Zeppelin* following a cease and desist letter issued by Chris Dreja - became one of the best-selling acts of all time, with strong musical morals and an eagerness to expand and explore their individual and collective abilities as much as they could.

*Why the name Led Zeppelin? Because it brought “the perfect combination of heavy and light, combustibility and grace” to Page's mind.

They broke records and earned a reputation for excess, but most importantly, they gained a steady place in the hearts of countless musicians and/or fans, a place that would endure the passage of time and still be here, today, after more than half a century.

What's curious about this 12 year period is that Jimmy continued his career as a session musician, too. Collaborators around this time include Joe Cocker, Chris Farlowe, P.J. Proby, Screaming Lord Sutch and Roy Harper.

My favourite tracks from this time period are the ones he recorded with Maggie Bell! She has a voice easily comparable to Janis Joplin's, and Jimmy's solos on these two songs are absolutely flawless and full of page-isms:

Another song I'm fond of is "Male Chauvinist Pig Blues", where Jimmy's electric guitar can be heard throughout the entire track:

As for Led Zeppelin, a remarkable piece of their early history is the first studio track all four members ever recorded together on August 25, 1968. Part of the P.J. Proby album Three Week Hero, the name of the track is "Jim's Blues" (featuring Robert Plant on harmonica):

Also worthy of notice is the first Zeppelin bootleg ever recorded, from their December 30, 1968 show in Spokane, Washington.

I really recommend checking out the bootlegs because a big part of what separated Led Zeppelin from other bands were their outstanding live performances and on-stage improvisations! If you may need a guide to the best bootlegs in order to get started, here's a really helpful one.

One song from the earlier years that was to be recorded as part of their first album - but probably got discarded to make place for other tracks - is my beloved As Long As I Have You:

(This version was performed at the Fillmore West on April 27, 1969)

Personally I will never forgive them for not including it as it's one of my favourite Zep songs ever.

As we all know, after many years and quotes of Robert Plant swearing that the band may as well “go on forever”, the tragic death of John Bonham on September 25, 1980 at Jimmy Page's then recently acquired Old Mill House, after a long day of alcohol binges, is what finally put an end to the giant that was, and forever will be, Led Zeppelin.

“Led Zeppelin wasn't a corporate entity. Led Zeppelin was an affair of the heart. Each of the members was important to the sum total of what we were. I like to think that if it had been me that wasn't there, the others would have made the same decision. What were we going to do? Create a role for somebody? Say, ‘You have to do this, this way?’ That wouldn't be honest.”

He addresses many topics and is quite talkative for 1977, a time when he would just stand up from his chair and say “I'm really not sorry to say the interview has ended” when the interviewer seemed to get on his nerves.

1998 Birmingham - Number 4 - Imaani - "Where Are You?"

The Great British Song Contest of 1998 was extraordinarily close. The privilege of representing the host country was settled on a televote. Third place got 65,712 votes. Second 66,278. Imaani won with 70,421. This comes after 800 songs were submitted to the BBC as prospective candidates. With eight songs initially selected, none were joke or troll entries, all were worthy potential Eurovision candidates. Whatever you think about the UKs attitude to Eurovision these days, in 1998 there was enthusiasm and excitement.

Prior to this, Imaani herself had provided vocals for the band Incognito and FM Inc. She was relatively unknown yet her assured confidence on stage with deep, smooth vocals didn't betray that lack of experience in front of an audience.

Where Are You? was written (shockingly) by the same man who wrote Jeff Beck's Hi Ho Silver Lining. This is not a football ground chant though. It's a plaintive plea for a lost love over a subdued house beat. It's chill, even if Imaani is singing about a prolonged heartbreak. It's contemporary chart music and after the previous years UK entries, that's perhaps a little surprising. This was modern. For a country that had been finding Eurovision increasingly naff, this was cool. Success can sometimes change perceptions.

This was one of the favourites going into Eurovision, and it did very well. Going into the final round of voting, it was was still in contention. 10 points from North Macedonia took it above Malta, but it couldn't pip Israel for the win. Another second place for the UK, Eurovision's perennial second-placed country.

Sadly, this success was short-lived. Imaani's recording contract got cancelled despite this single selling a quarter of a million copies in the UK. The music industry the BBC reverted to type, killing a career and failing to learn lessons. The UK had been in the forefront of change to Eurovision in the 1990s, and while this is not quite the last hurrah, but it's definitely the point at which the plot was lost. Having put on such a successful Eurovision, as soon as that winning feeling disappeared, corporate interest waned.

If only they'd taken the step to build on 1998 instead of pulling back and phoning it in for a few years... What could have been.
