The Not Dead Adrichat Fic

It’s 1am, I’m eating poptarts, listening to Ugh on loop, and just like I promised, I was going to write another chapter. I don’t know if I can continue this afterward because even thought I do love this fic, I’m running out of ideas. This was only supposed to be one chapter and when I was thinking about it more, this was where I always ended up. At this dinner. I could make a bonus chapter from Gabriel’s point of view (I’m smiling at the idea) and this fic is for the people. So if anyone’s interested, just say so.

Anyway, crack time

“Alright, kitty,” Ladybug said handing him the Fox Miraculous. “I’m giving you the Fox Miraculous so you can do... whatever it is you wanna do.”

“Thanks, Ladybug.” Cat Noir took the Miraculous with a smile on his face. Now one problem is out of the way. “You won’t regret it.”

“Just please bring it back as soon as possible.”

She then swung away.

He went home too but only there was something he was now thinking of. Who to be? Adrien or Cat Noir? To be honest, it didn’t exactly matter, did it. He could make a mirage of either one because they were both him. So why did it feel so important? Is it because he’s still thinking irrationally? Or could it because he thinks either of his personas could just fake version of himself and by choosing to make an illusion of one them means that that person is fake? 

Fortunately, his ring made the decision for him when it started to beep. So that’s probably a sign that he should make an illusion of Cat Noir wearing two Miraculouses can’t be good. Not to mention, Plagg wouldn’t be there so he could avoid some of his endless teasing.

He landed in his room just in time to detransform.

“So, dinner with your father tonight? Good luck with that.” Plagg said. 

“Yeah, I’m not too thrilled about it but here’s hoping that something good will come of this.” Who knows, maybe his father would let him go out more if he thinks his relationship with... himself is good. 

And the bad thoughts started to flood in again. What if he didn’t have good chemistry with himself? Was he even his own type? Did he even know what his favorite color was? 

Nope, ignore these thoughts. Repression is a healthy coping mechanism. 

Hours passed as Adrien was in his room trying to calm himself down from the dinner. Now it was more about impressing his father, it was about learning about himself. 

Dinner was about to start in five minutes, so it was now or never. Adrien put on the Miraculous and out popped Trixx. She did the usual introduction that Kawamis do and Adrien transformed. No time to think of a name (maybe there was. Maybe he gave himself the name Rouge Cat). Next made a perfect copy of his alter ego and gave himself the illusion of wearing his normal clothes. 

Perfect, now hopefully, everything can go to plan and he can stop questioning his own existence.

Adrien came down the stairs and saw Nathalie, his father, and his bodyguard all waiting for him. His nerves only worsened each step he took getting down but after what felt like a thousand years he made it to the bottom.

“I’m very excited to meet... your boyfriend, son.” His father said. His father was excited about something in Adrien’s life, maybe he should’ve started to pretend to date himself years ago. Maybe he could’ve convinced Félix to help. Yeah, they loved to pretend to be the other and there’s no way that Félix would ever do anything to betray his trust again. 

“Yes, I am too, Adrien.” Nathalie said as stoic as ever. “Do you know when he’ll arrive.”

“He should be here soon.” He’ll be here in a few seconds. And in a few seconds, the doorbell rang. 

“That must be him.” His father said with what Adrien probably imagined was a tinge of excitement. “Nathalie, please get the door.”

As Nathalie went to the door, his bodyguard handed him something. It was a small giftbag and a note on top that said ‘for the lovely couple.’

He couldn’t help but smile but then he realized that he probably should’ve gotten himself-- er Cat Noir-- a gift. Too late, don’t think about it.

The door opened and the mirage of Cat Noir walked in. No going back now.

“Welcome, Cat Noir.” His father welcomed the illusion. “We’re so glad you could join us and we can’t wait to hear about you and Adrien.”

“It’s my pleasure, sir.” The illusion said while bowing. 

They all walked to dinner table to start eating. There was a lot of food for all of them to share but there was a problem, the illusion wouldn’t be able to eat. Why couldn’t this just happen at one of his shootings where no food would be there. 

“So, Cat Noir... why don’t you tell us how you met my son?” Adrien could tell that he still felt uncomfortable about this. Then again, everyone probably was. 

The reason Adrien was uncomfortable because he realized that he forgot to think of a lie for this question. “Well, sir--”

“Please call me Gabriel, Cat Noir.”

“Well, okay, Gabriel. We met after an attack one day.”

“What attack?”

“Well... uhh...” Another question Adrien didn’t prepare to answer. He couldn’t say someone as harmless as Mr. Pigeon but still be believable. “It was when Reflekta attacked.” Reflekta wasn’t a bad villain to choose from. “Yeah, it was after Reflekta attacked when we met for the first time.”

The perfect lie. “Wait,” Nathalie cut in. “I thought you said you started dating two weeks ago, Reflekta hasn’t attacked since then.”

Things were already falling apart. It hasn’t even been two minutes and everything was already a mess. His first lie was such a heat in the moment thing that he forgot the specifics.

“That’s right, Nathalie. Cat Noir, how did you actually meet?”

“And why did you lie?”

Crap. Who did they fight two weeks ago? Was it someone new? No, Hawkmoth only akumatized someone new last week. But who were the villains of the week then? The days blend together that it was now practically impossible to tell what day was what. 

Suddenly, he remembered what happened two weeks ago. After one of his fencing practices last week, the zoo animals were released... again. Someone should do something about that because this is not normal. 

“Oh well, father...” Adrien decided to talk instead. “You see, Cat Noir is still just a little embarrassed about our first meeting.”

“Yeah,” the illusion picked up. “I am actually. You see, what had really happened is that we met after the zoo animals escaped. I’m actually scared of elephants so I ran away when I saw one.”

“Right,” Adrien continued. “It was also about that time when Kagami and I were walking home from fencing and we ran into each other.”

“So Kagami knew about your relationship too.”

That was another failed lie but this one wasn’t too hard to get out, he hoped. “Well, you see... Gabriel, once I saw the two of them, I immediately got them to safety.”

“Yes and while we were swinging, we started talked.”

“Adrien is the cat’s meow.” 

“Thank you... honey. But yes, we started talking when we were alone and after the incident.” 

“And we’ve been together ever since.”

There was a silence until Nathalie asked “why do neither of you sound sure about the story of how you met?”

“Yes, and why haven’t you eaten anything yet? Don’t you know it’s impolite to not eat?”

Good questions all of them. But they would have to remain unasked because he could feel himself starting to lose power and it would only be a matter of time before the Miraculous ran out. So, only one thing left to do.

Adrien made the illusion of the staff make a noise as if he got a message. “Oh no, Ladybug just sent me a message. She says that someone was akumatized on the other side of town, I need to go.”

That made his father completely forget about the botched story. “I can assure you, there’s no akuma.” 

“Father, how can you be sure that there’s no akuma?”

“I-I just do!” Was he flustered? “Besides, Ladybug is clever, I think she can handle this one by herself.”

The illusion started to get out of his chair to leave. “I’m sure she could but what kind of partner would I be if I just left her?”

“No, I’m sure that if there was an akuma Ladybug could understand it herself. Also, I’m sure she would understand if you explained your current situation to her.”

The illusion was walking closer to the door. “Gabriel, she sent me a message asking for my help and I can’t abandon my responsibilities as a hero.”

“Cat Noir, do not leave this house.” 

What should he do? Why was his father so adamant about the fact that there’s no akuma. If it’s happening on the other side of town there’s no reason why he could guess that. But he had about one minute left before the illusion would disappear, so it didn’t matter, he had to do something.

“I’m-sorry-for-being-disrespectful-but-I-have-to-go!” Was the last thing that the illusion had said before quickly running out of the house. Gabriel chased the illusion out of the house and shouted “You are not allowed back in my house!”

Adrien walked over to his father. “Father, it’s oka--”

“No it is not, Adrien. I forbid you to see Cat Noir again. Consider yourselves broken up.”

In some weird roundabout way, that somehow fixed that problem. Only one more left. He had about thirty seconds before the illusion of his clothes would disappear. So, he whipped up some fake tears, said something about a hole forming in his heart, and ran to his door just in the nick of time. 

The illusion melted away and he caught Trixx before she fell. “That dinner was a disaster!”

“I know. But it’s over now.”

He was about to give Trixx something to eat, that wasn’t smelly cheese, but there was a knock on his door.

“Come in!”

The door creaked open and Nathalie peaked her head inside. “Adrien, I’m sure this probably something you don’t want to hear but just know that this is for the best. Cat Noir was rude anyway.”

She was being nice, which he was thankful for but now couldn’t have been a worse time. “Thank you... Nathalie. I’ll take that into consideration.”

She seem content and closed the door which allowed Adrien to feed Trixx and he planned to give it back tomorrow. It was too late and Ladybug probably wouldn’t see his message until tomorrow anyway.

He lied in his bed and thought back to that failed dinner. Why was his father so insistent that there was no akuma? That didn’t make sense. In fact, it could take Adrien a while before he knew there was an attack, so why would his father know that?

Suddenly, Adrien sat up in a panic. It was a horrible answer and he didn’t want to entertain the thought of it but... could his father... the man responsible for giving him life be...

There’s no way...

Was he secretly Ladybug?

Listened to Ugh an ungodly amount of times, consumed two delicious poptarts, and it’s currently, 2:41 am, I did not think it would me this long to write this chapter but this chapter was long as hell and. I didn’t mean for it to be this long or dialogue heavy but it was so... what can you do about it now. I was also suffering from secondhand embarrassment in some of these scenes. I even cut some of them out because I didn’t know how to properly write them (I’m trying to get used to writing fanfiction again). I will post the next chapter on AO3 and fanfiction.net soon. Anyway, my laptop is overheating, so I’ll just say this: Overall, I had fun with though and isn’t that what fanfiction is really all about.

Capture the Akuma

So I don’t know if this theory has been done yet... but something’s been on my mind. I was watching the Origins episodes and while Ladybug was making her speech, she mentioned that she and Chat Noir would take Hawkmoth’s miraculous because he was using it for evil acts. 

This made me think, the miraculous were obviously meant to be used together for the forces of good, not evil. We’ve heard from NooRoo, Plagg, Tikki, and Wayzz with certain points about how the miraculous are meant for good. So why would Ladybug need to be able to take away the power of the moth mircauous’s akuma? They’re supposed to be on the same side, so naturally it wouldn’t make sense that Ladybug can capture akumas and stop Hawkmoth’s power, unless there’s an explanation. 

In the Origins episodes Master Fu mentions how the Ladybug earrings and the Cat ring are the most powerful miraculous, so what if they had control over the other miracuous, and were able to stop their power if Ladybug or Chat Noir didn’t see that they were being used correctly. I’d personally love to see how Chat Noir’s character could grow if he also had control over certain miraculous. 

Imagine if Chat Noir was able to take power away from Queen Bee or Carapace and Le Paon while Ladybug could also control Rena Rouge as well as Hawkmoth, while still being stronger than Chat Noir. I feel like this adds a sense of control and meaning to being the most powerful miraculous holders while giving a sense to the new holders they’re kept in check and can’t just do anything (I’m looking at you Chloe). Plus it would add an explanation as to why capturing the product of a moth miraculous is something Ladybug can conveniently do.

Miraculous Ninjago Au where Kai got a miraculous from his dad at age 3, The miraculous hides Kai's powers from those who can sense it (ex: Chen, Clouse, Time Twins, Wu and Garmadon). Also Ray (who gave it to him) does not know its a miraculous. Kai manages to finally get the Kwami out at age 4. But Kai does not tell anyone at the Kawami's insistence.

When the Time twin (can't remember his name lol) came along to take Ray and Maya they took Nya along with figuring that if Kai dosen't have powers then Nya must have both Water and Fire powers.

Morro (right before he was going to go out on his own) swings by the Smith's and finds out that Ray, Maya and Nya are gone, so instead of trying to find the Tomb he decides to hide Kai and raise him.

Then the Time Twins happens before S3. And the ninja at the time (Jay, Zane, Cole, and Lloyd) meet an Vigilante/Antihero named Phoenix (Kai prefers Red Shogun but no-one will call him that) {you can switch those around if you feel it makes more sense, because at this time Kai goes by Phelix [{F-ee-licks} I'm not sure that made it better] (Felix but Ph)} The ninja and the Vigilante/Antihero eventually get along and take down the Time Twins, all throughout this The Vigilante never reveals his Identity.

Then when Ray, Maya and Nya are freed, Ray and Maya take it upon themselves to find out who this Vigilante is (they don't like the Idea of a magical Object giving someone the ability of fire and flight {five minute ability is using so much fire he can launch himself up in the air like a Rocket}) and they have Nya try and find Kai, they all meet up at the apartment where Kai and Morro have been living at and its just like the spiderman meme except Kai has no Idea what's going on Whatsoever.

Side note, they found Trixx and both Kai and Morro go out with Trixx every so often

And that's where the Idea ends so far 👍

Obey Me as Miraculous Ladybug heroes

Lucifer as Hawkmoth

((The most out of pocket explanation, so be warned))

I correlated him and Gabriel Aggreste pretty heavily from the get go.

Both families undergo some big issue that changes them fundamentally, with the father figures taking the worst of it. Both technically present, and more than a bit harsh, the only difference is that I trust that Lucifer actually likes his brothers, I still think Gabriel would sacrifice Adrien for his wife.

But at the same time, Lucifer has a way of making everyone bend to his will and imposing his influence on them, which would go nicely with the butterfly miraculous. 

The edge of mind control, and giving increased abilities to people would both be very beneficial powers as Diavolo’s second in command.

Physically and metaphorically undergoing personal and family wide transformations.

Nooroo has a soft, supportive personality that would have the patience to put up with Lucifer’s worst days, and Lucifer would probably enjoy the kwami’s meek personality.

Mammon as Moking/ King Monkey

right off the bat, I would say that while Mammon is not the most chaotic of the group, he is the highest energy. He’d have no issue returning Xuppu’s sass and taunts. Their light hearted chemistry, and Xuppu’s straight forward personality would make them an ideal match, in my opinion.

I debated placing him as Pegasus/ with Kaaliki because, of the horse miraculous and him being canonly the fastest brother, but I don’t think Kalliki would deal well with Mammon’s get rich quick scheming and some of the shadier things he does. She does seem like the type to call him out on it in a very condescending manner that would ultimately just irritate Mammon, I don’t see them as compatible.

Back to being Moking, from some of the past chapters, I think Mammon has a good gauge of when to intercept into issues to either diffuse the situation, or just try to GTFO. This intuition would help him handle the ultimate move- disruption- and I feel like he would know exactly when and on what to use it, without much practice.

Leviathan as Ryoku

Honestly, one of the shakier choices. It just Made Sense to me.

Part of it was the weather manipulation and association with water that drew me to wanting to place Levi as Ryoku. Lotan, and being associated with reptiles also made me want to give him this dragon miraculous.

While I don’t imagine them being great friends from the get go, I also don’t see them ever being hostile towards one another. If anything, I think that Longg’s respectable and self assured personality could help Levi develop some confidence of his own. 

In shallower terms, Levi can flex that he has 3 special powers rather than 1 like everyone else, becoming the person to envy rather than the person that does.

Satan as Viperion

Viperion is another miraculous that I wanted to be careful of. While this time power and kawami may not be as long term damaging as Bunnyx, the responsibility and observation needed for it is just as heavy of a burden.

Satan has the intelligence and observational skills needed to handle the miraculous, and more so handle the pressure he’d have to face alone if had to repeat the same moment a lot. The case I’m specifically thinking of is from the Desperada episode. I don’t think a lot of the OM cast would be able to deal with the whole “repeated 5 minutes for over a month straight” and not absolutely lose it or resort to stupidity. 

In a way, Satan gets a ‘second chance’ of his own, he knows how seriously to take this and is also respectable enough to not try to use the powers for his own gain.

Both Satan and Sass have a calm and respectful demeanor, and I think they’d appreciate each others company, chill vibes all around.

Asmodeus as Rena Rouge

We don’t delve much into Asmo’s powers in the main story line (or from what I’ve seen up to chapter 21), but I feel like Trixx’s powers of illusion would naturally be a great set of supplementary powers for Asmo.

Asmo’s natural charisma would work well with the illusion powers; no point in making an elaborate visual lie if you crack under that lie the first second you have to talk out loud. 

Also, Trixx and Asmo would absolutely be vibing; he’d be pampering Trixx while telling her all of RAD’s most recent drama. Trixx wouldn’t understand any of it, but can definitely keep encouraging Asmo and even giving him some miraculous drama and would tell him about her past holders.

Beelzebub as Carapace

As the family protector, it felt natural to give Beelzebub the turtle miraculous. Protectors do be vibing.

Also, I feel like it would be a great way to increase Beel’s overall fighting abilities? It’s not a reach to say he’s probably one of the family’s best fighters/ offense, so giving him a shield, particularly one he doesnt actually have to hold and has a relatively large range would put his mind at ease if he wanted to specifically protect his injured brothers or weaker people (i.e: MC)

Also, wow a large impenetrable shield would have been great a war or so ago, let’s try not to add to his regret in the next war

Belphegor as Cat Noir *spoilers ahead*

This one was tricky, mostly because I needed to predict the actions of 2 fictional characters, one who looks mellow but is extreme and the other who is the embodiment of extreme but is actually super mellow.

Like, Belphegor literally kills MC, mofo RADIATES destructive energy. I didn’t want to give him the cat miraculous mostly because he seems like he’d use it pretty fkin recklessly.

Why I DID end up assigning him and Plagg is because Plagg is actually used to this, just on the other end of the spectrum. Plagg would have to remind Belphegor to chill the fuck out on occasion, as he’s had to do with Adrien currently. (Reminding Adrien to be a kid and not just all about this super hero life)

Their relationship would get tense for periods of time, I’m not gonna lie, because of clashing ideals/morals. Like, Plagg is NOT down with murder and random mayhem, he would not like pre chapter 18 Belphegor and the “destroy all humans/ earth” mentality.

On the friendlier side, both of them are very chill and would mostly get along. Belphie is use to Beel’s hunger and cravings so Plagg wanting only camembert cheese wouldn’t be off putting in the slightest, just gonna have to talk to Beel about not eating this specific cheese stash. And while Plagg might get bored only being around Belphegor, if all the brothers had/knew about the miraculouses, he’d have free reign of the House Of Lamentation, and there is always enough chaos to keep him entertained there.

Diavolo as Lady Bug

My very soul told me not to give Diavolo the lady bug miraculous, but once I realised it’s because I ship the LB x CN dynamic and I can’t imagine him getting along well with Belphegor, I got over it. (like, maybe a different timeline where the Cat miraculous is the villain but ladybug is still the hero? I don’t know, but that’s not the point.)

While Belphegor radiates destruction, Diavolo gives off strong and smart leadership vibes, befitting of the leader of the miraculouses.

As the miraculous of creation, I think it’s right up Diavolo’s alley. His dream is to unite the three realms, he created this exchange program to get humans/demons/angels accustomed to each other. Peace and unity is something the ladybug miraculous is drawn to after all.

I feel like Diavolo and Tikki would have great chemistry, very similar to the one Tikki and Marinette currently have. He could open up to Tikki about the hardships of being prince and he doesn’t have to hold up the overly cheerful demeanor around her. Tikki on the other hand, is very loving and supportive, but also a good voice of reason and sass, she would make a true and genuine friend for Diavolo.

Barbatos as Bunnyx *spoilers ahead*

For Barbatos, naturally I was conflicted between Bunnyx and Viperion. 

I ended up choosing Bunnyx for him because of the complexity needed to handle Bunnyx’s powers; having to predict how an outcome can change an entire future, from one little choice. Something we know Barbato’s is VERY familiar with and is well used to handling.

Very much a “think 5 steps ahead” power that I would only entrust to about 3 of the people from Obey Me, if I didn’t want to deal with a large ‘settling in’ time span to get used to the powers and consequences of said powers.

Bunnyx also seems like a kawami that would need special attention and care to make sure they’re properly taken care of, because of their hyperactive personality, and Barbatos’s history as a servant to Diavolo makes him the best equipped to handle that task.

Luke as MultiMouse

Another choice with absolutely no backing, it just Made Sense to me. 

One of the last miraculouses assigned, I don’t see any particular reason that he’d make a great team with Mullo, but no reason that they’d be enemies either.

He’s a kid, just give him a jump rope :( 

Simeon as Mayura

The only emotionally available bitch in the entire Devildom.

For this one, I relied more on the Person-Kawami relations.

Duusu is very emotional, very fragile thing that I see only about 3 people in OM being able to handle that consistently, and Simeon is the best fitting because he would actually try to be comforting and reassuring rather than just a “stand there and let them cry it out” like the other 2.

Simeon probably wouldn’t be fond of using the powers at all, but he’d most likely make an amuk if one of his friends really need it, so like it’s current use, it’d be mostly a support creature rather than an active player. 

Solomon as Queen Bee

This dude has 70+ pacts and you think he WOULDN’T want powers of subjugation? P-L-E-A-S-E

And if we’re going by historical/biblical references, he was already a king, it just fits with who he is as a person.

Pollen’s personality (chipper but humble) is one of the ones I think Solomon could spend a lot of time around and it doesn’t irritate or drain him. Also, Pollen being down to call him Prince/Master/King would be a plus for Solomon.
