Aaron Minyard is a chronic clothes stealer. Genuinely none of Kevin’s clothes are safe from him. Aaron will mostly steal his sweatshirts, especially his team ones that have “Day” and his number on them. Kevin gets his hoodies a size larger than normal so he loves that they’re oversized and he secretly loves that wearing them makes him feel like he’s Kevin’s.

And he’ll steal his sweatpants when they’re having a lazy day at home. The legs are way too long and he’s stepping on them all day and he has to tie the waistband as tight as it goes just so they stay up. But they’re just comfier than his own sweatpants for some reason okay!

And despite Kevin being almost a foot taller than him, they wear the same shirt and jersey size. So of course Aaron steals his t-shirts and wears them to class, especially on the days Kevin’s out of town for games. And maybe there was an incident while they were in college before the Foxes knew they were together where they were making out in the locker room and the rest of the team walked in. So they had to jump away from each other quickly. And in the scramble to look normal they grabbed each other’s jerseys without noticing and wore them for the entire practice. None of the foxes told them and many bets were won that day.

A month into their relationship basically half of Kevin’s closet had wound up in Aaron’s room. For weeks he had to text Aaron to bring him certain clothing items so the others wouldn’t be suspicious about him coming into Aaron’s room and getting clothes. When the Foxes find out Kevin just starts walking in and grabbing what he needs, if he didn’t stay over.

Kevin protests the stealing at first but seeing Aaron in his clothes makes his stomach twist with butterflies and affection so he just lets him take whatever he wants.

He even lets him steal his underwear after they finish messing around because Kevin finds Aaron walking around their apartment in Kevin’s boxers strangely attractive

some Kevaaron headcannons because I can’t work on the high school au fic

Kevin thinks it’s hot when Aaron wears anything with his number on it

Aaron (not so) secretly loves it

When Kevin is bored and has free time he’ll wait outside the hall Aaron has a class in

aaron uses Kevin for anatomy assignments

the first time a fox sees them kissing it’s Nicky

kevin gets so startled by Nicky’s voice that he falls backwards into the side table

aaron patches the scrape up later

They have nightmares

despite being (loving and caring) assholes to each other, nightmare time is when that has to go away and they’ll do whatever the other needs

the first time they fight Kevin goes to his bestie(Neil) and Aaron goes to Andrew

andrew pretends not to care but also periodically hands Aaron tissues when he needs another one

neil awkwardly pats Kevin’s back when he bursts into tears

when they see each other again it’s a ROUGJ apology

because they are both crying their eyes out

firm believer that Kevin cries and tries to stifle it but since joining the foxes he just can’t most of the time (because he’s actually finally allowed to feel)

Kevin enjoys cooking, he wasn’t allowed to do it in the nest (having no reason to because of plenty of chefs and nutritionists so he didn’t leave the court) so it gives him something he can finally do and something in his control

aaron can taste as he gets better

Aaron stops Kevin from pushing himself too hard

Like when he knows Kevin has pushed himself too hard he’ll stop him from getting out of bed for night practice with an arm around his waist and a very sleepy “stay”

that also means he stops Kevin from practicing when he’s sick or injured

Even when he begs so cute with his hair messy and a thermometer in his mouth and 3 fuzzy blankets around him and his Trojan socks on

aaron doesn’t let him

Kevin helps Aaron balance his studies and taking care of himself

When Aaron’s up real late studying to the point his eyes blur and his head hurts

kevin makes him tea

he’ll come up behind him and take his glasses off and shut the computer and pick Aaron up and have him take a nice shower and put on some soft pajamas ((Kevin’s hoodie))

kevin will give him the tea and play with his hair as he drinks

they just take care of each other like that

high school au rivals to lovers kevaaron

kevin getting his science test back with a 98 so he smugly turns around to shove it in aaron’s face. aaron raises an eyebrow, lifts up his paper to show to bright 99 with a shit-eating grin (andrew got 100 but will never show it to anyone).

their next class is a history presentation, afterwards the teacher discusses grades (my high school did that idk if yours did too but it was the WORST anyway) kevin gets a full score.

english class arrives and it is set to be a debate, cue the two having an argument-contest of symbolism and meaning of a certain poem they had to study.

one day kevin shows up to the library to find all the seats taken except the one next to aaron. he grumpily considers his options but when aaron looks up from his textbook he turns on his heels and tells himself it’s not too cold to study outside yet.

then they are assigned a presentation for their spanish class. neither of them speaks it very well (they would have preferred being with the weird kid andrew always hangs out with) but they have no choice so kevin tells aaron to come at his place during the weekend to work on it.

it’s a bit of a disaster because they keep bickering but then eventually manage to get an outline for it after way too much time wasted deciding who should work on what. aaron brought his old laptop so they both start working on their part in silence, neither happy to be in the other’s presence but at least working is familiar and comfortable, so much so that they don’t see time pass. kevin’s step-mom comes home and she tells aaron he should stay for dinner with them. he refuses but she insists because “listen i got too much food, what’s one more mouth to feed”.

(little does she know aaron hasn’t eaten anything since the previous evening. his mom is going to be mad if he doesn’t come home but kevin’s step-mom, abby, is very sweet and besides kevin looks constipated at the prospect of him staying so he ends up accepting)

aaron helps get the table ready while kevin chops veggies with way too much force, abby makes small talks but it’s alright, at least aaron doesn’t have to think about the screaming that will be waiting for him at home.

just as dinner is ready, the high school coach, who is also kevin’s father, arrives and stomps in all grumpily because some kids tripped each other on the tracks so he had to take them to the hospital for a sprained wrist and a sprained ankle. coach wymack looks at aaron then at kevin and then huffs. “‘bout time you brought a friend here” “he’s not my friend” “whatever you say kevin”. dinner is pleasant and aaron doesn’t remember the last time his stomach felt so full, kevin’s parents keep asking him questions and he finds it surprisingly easy to talk to them, especially because kevin is silently fuming opposite him.

aaron goes home with a tupperware full of food but as soon as tilda sees him she slaps him in the face because “where the fuck were you”. aaron drops the tupperware in surprise and apologizes profusely, when tilda is done with him he runs to his bedroom and doesn’t get out until the next day. kevin is the first person he sees in class, if he notices the still red mark on his cheek or the stiff way aaron holds himself, he doesn’t comment on it. aaron sits next to him to review their notes and kevin says “you’ll have to bring the tupperware back”

aaron “i’ll bring it tomorrow”

kevin “abby gave me these for you” kevin gives him a small bag of wrapped cookies.

aaron “why?”

kevin “because she has the audacity to like you”

they get an a for their presentation and aaron is invited for dinner again the following friday, kevin starts warming up to aaron even tho aaron keeps his distance until one day it’s just the two of them left in the locker room and oh fuck kevin is shirtless and oh fuck abs.

aaron realizes something about himself in that moment while kevin seems completely unbothered, but then a smirk stretches the corner of his mouth and oh fuck aaron is standing too close. kevin tilts his chin up with one finger and kisses him right there

the foxes in high school if they were not traumatized au

part 2 (ft. everyone being oblivious)

when andreil starts dating no one really notices, even though andrew and neil will mention their relationship but people sort of just think it's a weird inside joke. this is because of many reasons, but here's a few of them:

kevin knows they're together and will tell them to stop flirting whenever he is in their presence, but neil will always go "ew cooties" while andrew just looks offended, and people assume it's becuase he's been accused of flirting and not because his bf just said he has cooties

most people think andrew is straight even though he regularly makes gay jokes, because they think it's his weird way of supporting nicky (even if a lot of the jokes feel vaguely homophobic), and that him and neil just have a weird jock bromance going on

whenever neil wants to hold andrew's hand he very dramatically goes "give me your hand" in a weird voice and then andrew (very reluctantly) will put out his hand, and then once they are walking neil very dramatically swings their hands back and forth until andrew tells him to calm down

when they are sitting on sofas andrew sits at one end while neil sits side ways with his legs on top of andrew's lap, taking up the entire couch. everyone thinks they are just being assholes who are unwilling to share a couch (which yeah, they definitely are) but it's actually just that cuddling is very awkward when other people are on the same couch as you, so they're improvising.

andrew and neil will sometimes take kevin with them on their dates. kevin is horrifically bisexual and obsessed with aaron, so andrew says it's because he wants to keep an eye on him. neil says it's because kevin doesn't trust them to not do something dumb that ends with them kicked off the exy team. the rest of the school thinks that they are just the ultimate friendship trio. when kevin starts dating aaron people are like "omg but what about neil?" and kevin's just kind of like "he has andrew?" and people are like "but you're dating andrew, right?" and kevin is very eager to list of all the reasons he would never date andrew, and why aaron is husband material.

Skater boy Aaron is real and true and canon (to me at least)

He is the poster boy for the early 2000s skater aesthetic

Part of the reason he continues skating in college is because he enjoys the heart attack it gives Kevin

Kevin doesn’t want him getting hurt and jeopardizing the team and his wellbeing

So Aaron makes sure he finds time to skate everyday

Aaron is a lover of pop culture and is just a fucking nerd dude

He loves Lord of the Rings and read Harry Potter as it came out (and also very actively hates JKR in the modern day)

Aaron Minyard is a chronic migraine girly

He’s a med student and athlete who gets very little sleep so his head constantly hurts

And yaknow what he’s a little bitch about it too

He is constantly complaining to Katelyn and using it as an excuse to be an asshole

(I love him so dearly)

I also think he is constantly cold and has terrible blood circulation

His hands and feet are always freezing

Years of drug use and constantly needing to take Advil for his headaches has just shot his cardiovascular system

So he’s constantly cold and doesn’t run a lot because his stamina is shit

He has a raging addiction to caffeine and his vice is RedBulls

His sleep schedule is absolutely wrecked from both Exy and school so he’s rarely ever without a RedBull in hand

I don’t think he cares a lot about his diet but he does try to keep it pretty nutrient packed bc he knows the benefits of it

But he also has a sweet tooth (not as strong as Andrew’s but still strong) and he favors baked goods like cake and banana bread and pastries

His vision is bad and it just keeps getting worse over the years but he doesn’t wear his glasses often

He usually resorts to contacts but has to switch to his glasses late at night or when his head is hurting extra bad

OKAY KEVIN FUCKING DAY

He loves tea

Like has an extensive tea collection and will spend the money to buy teas from around the world

He also has a mug collection (the Foxes start gifting him mugs every holiday when they find out about it)

His favorite mugs are his vintage Trojans mug, a “history is not boring” mug the Foxes gave him when he graduated, and a Hogwarts mug Aaron gave him

(they read the series together :P)

Kevin’s favorite areas of history to study are Ancient Rome and the history of Ireland

He’s fascinated by the Roman Empire and studying Ireland makes him feel more connected to his mother

I think he continues school on the side and eventually gets a doctorate degree and teaches a bit after he retires from Exy

He always tries to sign with teams in or near the cities the other OG Foxes are in because he doesn’t really know how to function without the familiarity of his people

Kevin works a lot on undoing his Raven dietary habits and since he’s surrounded by people who can’t cook he grows a love for frozen food as well as caffeine

I think he takes a few art classes and really enjoys it even though he doesn’t think he’s that great at it

He’s actually not bad at all and makes a lot of really cool pieces

Kevin exclusively wears 5 inch inseam shorts

Anything longer is blasphemous

He has basically zero sense of style and just kind of mimics what the others are wearing

Until Allison forces him to go to the mall with her and they spend hours building him a real wardrobe that is him

Most of his closest still consists of PSU and USC merch though

And truly would this even be me if I didn’t put kevaaron headcanons? No

Kevin is basically a human radiator, especially after practice

And that is a blessing directly from God in Aaron’s eyes

Kevin comes back from night practice and Aaron just clings to him, absorbing all of his heat as they fall asleep

Aaron is a chronic clothes stealer like he just has sticky fingers when it comes to Kevin’s wardrobe

They spend a lot of time together in the library

They’re both in quite intensive and workload heavy majors so they study together a lot

It happened more as an accident tbh like Aaron was heading to the library to study for a midterm

And basically all of PSU’s student body had the same idea so there was no open tables

But low and behold there was Kevin, alone at a table tucked in the back corner, typing away at his laptop

Aaron joins him without asking and it kinda just becomes their thing

Kevin joins Aaron at the library between regular and night practices

They spend most of their weekends there and bring each other caffeinated drinks and snacks

Eventually they’re not even studying half the time, they’re just talking and spending time with each other outside of Exy and the other Foxes curious glances and prying comments

Aaron takes a history class with Kevin but Kevin refuses to take any science class outside of his required credits

He’s not a science person so Aaron doesn’t take it personally

Kevin can never properly wrap his head around how strong Aaron actually is

It just doesn’t compute for him, like how can so much strength be packed into such a small body

But he is most definitely not complaining, especially not when that strength is so clearly but on display or used against him

Kevin is practically drooling anytime he watches Aaron body check a striker twice his size and send them sprawling onto the floor

They become each others partners/marks during practices and it is simultaneously the best and worst thing to ever happen

They’re just excessively flirting while tripping each other and fighting with their racquets

The other Foxes comment on their “weird and disturbing foreplay” every chance they get

• even though andrew started going to the roof to feel something, he slowly started to fall for the night sky.

• the way the muggy air would be accompanied by the smell of wet tar, the way it felt like sky was holding him and everything else in a chilled embrace, capturing everything in a black and grey dome.

• when he looked at the stars, he felt like he was looking into kaleidoscopes tumbling with memories, moments, and lives lived and lost.

• he started to come up to roof not only when the all-too-well-known feeling of numbness was pumped by heart, filling every crevice of his body, but when he couldn't sleep, when he felt stressed

• when he felt anything he considered overwhelming, he count count on the sky to ground him, hold him tight

• he'd lay with his back on the rough cement, inhaling the scent of his lit cigarette

• then, he started to bring neil there, his ridiculous silhouette glowing underneath the magic of the night sky. him and his ugly fucking eyes. fuck him.

• he'd watch the steady rise and fall of neil's chest when they lay side by side, trying to slow his own breathing pace, matching it to neil's steady one.

• yeah, he brought neil there, but andrew wasn't one for words. he didn't tell him how the sky, so dark, and far away, had poked holes in its own darkness, naming each a star for his sake, a sacrifice it had made to show him that he will never be alone. though they had both been dark, the little sprinkles of light will remain.

• some will die out, and get replaced by others, some will stay for his whole lifetime. like memories, some stars were made to shine brighter than others, and others were made to be forgotten

• but in the end, to andrew, that cold shoulder will always feel warm to him, no matter how chilly the night be. sometimes it needs to leak it's acid tears. just like him.
