2 MONTHS BEFORE JACKS ESCAPE

The place of business was always busy and there was never not anything to be done, Endless reports and stories in need of being written, the podcast teams always chattering about the hottest topics.

KMMs was a journalist's dream — your dream.

You were a known face around the company both online and in person. A pretty foreigner who was damn good at her job and that made you favored by the late CEO Kim. You were always hand picked by him to attend press conferences in his favor. He treated you kindly, allowing you into a large world of business pulling strings to get you the best stories helping you— a once broke freshly graduated English major climbing up in the world of reporting.

It's only been three months since CEO Kim passed away and the company was changing fast. You were grateful that you weren't a part of the many that were fired and replaced by new faces and AI, and you were now noticing how low the viewers were on podcasts, social media and blogs.

KMM was dying out very slowly and that meant you might go away with it. You were dedicated to your work, and the company that helped you become the person you were today.

And you were willing to do anything to not be forgotten.

Sleeping was not on the agenda right now.

A quick double tap to a cell phone showed an awfully bright screen reading 4:40 am. You had been lying in your bed mind racing while staring at your wall for the past hour and a half.

Jack in the box.

Rolling out the tangled bedsheets and arms you pull on a large T-shirt that'd been discarded a long with the other items of clothing on the floor shuffling towards the desk in the corner of your room. Laptop already open from your previous research when you pull out a pack of cigarettes from your drawer before plunging deep into the web. Your mouse clicks every site as your pen moved furiously taking in all the information you can about said serial killer.

“On May 14th, 2018 Serial Killer Jack In The Box was finally caught after a murdering spree in Seoul. The killings of ordinary outgoing individuals taken with a quick swipe of a knife and a long torture method.”

"Before his kills Jack likes to taunt his victim. He ironically sends them a Jack in the box to let them know they're next. The next few days said victim lives in constant fear, looking over their shoulder, leading the mostly known outgoing victim to slowly isolate themselves from loved ones in fear of them being hurt, eventually this leads to insomnia and in some cases hallucinations and histera. Then Jack disappears for a while making them think they're finally okay and he's gone until he wasn't."

The scoff that left your lips echoed through the quiet room, breathing out the nicotine smoke from your Cancer stick.

So Jack was an antisocial loser and took out his lack of social skills on people who could.

"No one knows of Jack's real identity. Police have reported that the man has lived many lives and has owned many faces for the past 11 years. Reporters have tried their hardest for the past 4 years to get a one on one interview with the man but unfortunately he refuses to talk only resorting to violence."

A reporter says he went for a handshake and left with two missing fingers.

Another says he watched the man bang his head on the wall hard enough to bleed when he asked the murderer's real name.

A broken arm??

“Fuck” you huff flicking the ash at the butt of your cigarette. You stare at the mugshot photos supplied at the end of the article. Dark wide eyes, shaggy black hair falling over his forehead, the piercings sticking from the bridge of his nose eyebrow and top lip.

The look definitely screams psycho but…. he was kinda hot. It took everything in you not to go and click the endless fanfiction that you stumbled upon.

A pair of warm lips press onto your shoulder causing you to jump. Turning to look over your shoulder at the shirtless sight of Kim Namjoon.

“We have to be up in four hours, baby, come back to bed.”

You hum into his embrace with a pout stubbing out the cigarette into the pink ashtray beside your computer. “Did you know Jack went through eight lawyers? Until one day he randomly called Kim Seokjin. That high profile guy from the law firm we're partnered with? they must know each other”

Though Namjoons attention was not on the words that were leaving your mouth. Hands wander all over your body while placing kisses on your neck, and cheeks.

“He literally bit the finger of the last reporter clean off. Like do you know how much force you have to put into that? I think he reads too much gothic liter—”

Cutting you off with a quick grab of your jaw turning your head to connect his plump lips to own. Pulling away with a cheeky dimpled smirk, “I’m not sure how I feel about you talking about another man.”

“Well you shouldn't feel any type of way because you aren't MY man.”

You squeal when you're lifted up from your chair and throw over a broad shoulder. He huffs when he throws you onto the memory foam comforter, your (his) shirt lifting up your thighs exposing your bare cunt. Immediately his big body was hovering over you as he slightly pressed his body weight onto you.

“Get off you dick” pushing and smacking his tan shoulders but that did nothing for you at this moment. “Well I'm trying to put it in you.”

He bullies your legs up over his shoulders as he taps his hard piece against the wetness between your thighs. “If something happens to me during this case I swear” choking on your words as he slowly but surely presses his thick head into your cunt.

“Fuck — may the man himself strike me down.”

Hand reaching to grip your throat smashing your lips together. Luckily your mind left the thoughts of the serial killer , the only thing on your mind right now was Namjoon and his ridiculously large cockm

It wasn't weird for you to obsess over your assignments to the point where it was all you thought about. Everyone does that.

Though this one you couldn't seem to finesse your way out of. Without the help of the late Kim you'd have to pull your own strings to get what you wanted and now that Namjoon was in charge he loved making your life harder.

“Y/n.”

Your head snaps up from your laptop hand stalling from moving on your notepad face to face with gorgeously pale Detective Min Yoongi.

“Yoonie” you smile, motioning for him to sit in front of you. He looked different from when you last saw him all the months ago, more tired and cat- like you guessed it was from the heavy responsibilities that came with the position as Chief of Seouls police department

“Did you just call to look at me?”

“Sorry it's just been . . a while” you push the large Iced Americano towards him as a peace offering. He gladly accepted it with an amused raise of an eyebrow, “You know I just wait for your call.”

“The phone works both ways” you internally wince , you sounded like an estranged father talking to his child.

“What do you want?” A frown spread across your face and lips, shutting your laptop. “I can't call an old friend for a friendly coffee date.”

You waited for his answer as he took his time generously drinking from his plastic cup. With a smack of his lips he sat the cup down leaning back with his arms crossed over his chest.

“You only call me ‘Yoonie’ when you want something” eyes scanning over the scatter of papers and notes taking up your side of the table.

“This must be serious”

Hands going to clasp under your chin you sigh, cutting the bullshit. “Three years ago you were the lead investigator on the Jack in the box case which brought you from rookie detective to Chief of police.”

“I was wondering if you could help old friend out tell me what you know about-”

“No.” He cuts you off with little to no thought.

“No? Why not? This isn't our first rodeo Min”

There were plenty of times Yoongi helped you with stories without a second thought. He'd give you case files, witnesses, and anything you needed but why not now?

“Anybody but him”

You scoffed at him, irritation rising in your body. “I need this story not anyone else.”

“Well I can't help you, princess.”

“That's bullshit!” Your voice raises causing a couple people around you to turn their attention towards the two of you. He stood up, chair scraping the floor, slamming a few dollars on the table. “Call me if you need anything else.”

Turning on his heel he leaves you sitting there in your slowly growing rage. You quickly hopped from your seat chasing after him, managing to catch up with his long strides. “Yoongi slow down dammit”

He twirls around grabbing onto you by your arm, “Who gave you this story.

“Namjoon he-” you whine as his grip tightens on your arm as his eyes slit. The angry red scar on his face makes his angry stare look even more intimidating. “You don't understand how dangerous Jack is. Just because he's behind bars doesn't mean he won't have people on the outside that will whack you for being a nosy reporter.”

He softens his hold, lifting his hand to rub your cold cheek. “If something happens to you. . .” He shakes his head letting you go.

“Sit this one out Y/N I don't want to see you in our precinct mortuary.” with that he walks away disappearing into the crowd.

You sniff doing the walk of shame back to the Café sitting back in your seat with your head in your hands

Detective Min Yoongi.

“Excuse me Ma’am” the blonde barista came over holding a box of blueberry doughnuts which happened to be your favorite. “It's on the house.. everyone saw your fight with your boyfriend, manager said this might help cheer you up.”

“Oh! Thank you but he wasn't my boyfriend, just a work colleague.” You tried to defend yourself but the sympathy in his eyes only grew so you accepted the treat with another thank you. “What is your name? I've never seen you here before.”

A soft brightens his pretty face, eyes scrunching slightly adding to the prettiness of his face. “Park Jimin, Ma’am.”

MEANWHILE

The buzz of the electrically wired door opening didn't alert the man that stayed deep in the corner of his cell. “Long time no see.”

“Why now?” the visitor asks, “After all this time you choose now.”

He giggled, the haunting sound bouncing off the walls. “Did you bring what I asked for”

The visitor threw the pictures and the box of cigarettes into the cell. “Answer my question.”

“It's been three longgg years.” He finally answered, moving from his corner to pick up the photos. “Tell me is she this gorgeous in person?”

“Just for her?”

“And I need to stretch my legs” he laughs louder this time the high pitched sound echoed even through the thick steel door that kept him locked in tight.

louis 31st birthday comes with the reflection of all he accomplished and was able to experience at 30. he was finally able to perform his debut album and do it on a sold out global tour. he was able to grow throughout those months and become more comfortable and confident on the stage as he did. he saw fans scream back his lyrics night after night and watch light projects and rainbow projects bloom as tour went on. he headlined festivals. he headlined his own festival in spain— having it become even bigger and better than it was the previous year. he created special moments within the crowds of his concerts, even going down into the crowd as a tradition for KMM. he got to be the cover of alternative press mag??? he recorded and released his sophomore album which showed how much creative freedom he finally had with the influences and sound that he’s always wanted to create. his album went #1 in the UK and #5 in the US. he started working on a clothing line that we have yet to fully see. he released dates for his second world tour in bigger venues and arenas. he’s surrounded by many people who truly support him and want the best for him professionally. as i look back at these past twelve months, it has proven that 2022 was louis year and it’s just the beginning of what’s to come in his career going forward. i cannot wait to see what 2023 brings for him and all the success he so rightfully deserves.

bigger than me

so, as of now, 'bigger than me' by louis tomlinson was posted two hours and thirty-three minutes earlier. when i first heard the song, i was honestly blank. literally, just. blank. i was rushed with adrenaline, and i had a 'kill my mind' sort of vibe coming from it. but, when i heard, my initial shock was- there was no intro music? like i pressed play, and there it was- the lyrics.

i had been waiting for like two-three minutes on spotify for refreshing it again and again, and lemme tell ya, it was aggressive.

anyhow, i listen to it, no emotion. absolutely nothing. then i heard it again, because i was so focused on the music i forgot to understand the lyrics. and honestly even during the second time, i couldn't understand much. i was mostly just happy.

third times a charm? more like a wreck. i was SOBBING. i understood the lyrics and LOUIS' A GENIUS. an absolute genius. there were so many instances i'd thought it'd be more of kmm vibe, but god no. it was more of matilda-we made it-miss you?

THE BRIDGE GUYS, THE BRIDGE. i've died.

i cannot express how many times i've died and re-alived this year because of the boys.

i'm so proud of them and how far they've gotten! really, faith in the fucking future.

Louis Tomlinson has released his latest single, "Kill My Mind" and it's an absolute banger!

The 27-year-old singer started teasing the new single last week when he tweeted the acronym for the new track. A couple days later, he officially confirmed the new song.

"Kill My Mind" is quite a departure from his last more mellow single, "Two of Us," which was released earlier this year. "It's a song that I've had for four or five months," he explained in a video to fans. "Literally since I've recorded it I've been really, really excited, really proud of what we've ended up with. I'm really happy with where we got to on this one."

While many of his past singles have had an EDM and dance vibe to them, "Kill My Mind" is punk-influenced track with heavy guitars and drums — think "Little Black Dress" and "No Control" vibes with an Oasis twist. In the song, Tomlinson sings: "You're a nightmare on the dance floor/And you hate me/And I want more/You're a total distraction/While I'm waiting for your reaction. The song really showcases his talent and ability to perform different genres effortlessly (plus, his accent takes center stage on the track) and I am Here.For.It.

On top of releasing the song, Tomlinson also released the lyric video for "Kill My Mind" ahead of an official music video. In a recent YouTube video, the singer revealed the lyric video was his idea. "When I saw the storyboards for the actual music video itself, I thought it would be kind of interesting to animate them and make that the lyric video," he explained.

The former One Direction singer is playing a sold-out show in Madrid later this month and promised fans that he will be playing even more new songs.

Louis Tomlinson: ‘It took some real maturity to understand that One Direction wasn't real life’

I meet Louis Tomlinson at Simon Cowell's London office: a huge, two-room space befitting of a Bond villain at Sony Music’s HQ in High Street Kensington, on the floor occupied by his label, Syco. Cowell, to be clear, isn’t here, but he definitely feels present. A ten-foot portrait of the music mogul smirks down on all those who enter from the minimalist living room wall. Tomlinson, his publicist and I go straight through the frosted glass doors into the office-proper to do our interview, but before we can start the 27-year-old One Direction member turned solo artist needs a cigarette.

Within 30 seconds someone has brought Tomlinson a heavy orb-shaped black ashtray and a cup of tea. He lights up – smoking two more over the next half an hour – and visibly relaxes, leaning back in his chair. Tomlinson has the air of a comedic TV personality: warm, funny and self-effacing, he makes regular references to his hometown of Doncaster (“Donny”), has a loud, theatrical voice and swears like a trooper. “Simon won’t mind,” he says – and mind Cowell shouldn’t. One Direction, one of the most successful boy bands of all time, were Cowell’s cash cow after he brought them together on the X Factor in 2010. Since going on “hiatus” in 2016, all five boys (now men in their mid-twenties) launched solo careers, but only Tomlinson stuck with Syco. Now, Cowell's last vestige of the One Direction big bucks is gearing up to release a debut album, which, as anyone who knows anything about the fervour of the band's fans will be well aware, is already a guaranteed hit.

Tomlinson has, however, taken a big risk. Dressed in a vintage red football shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers, hair still styled into sweeping boy band perfection, he explains that this new music is “a statement of intent”. Gone are the saccharine, dance-tinged pop beats heard on his 2017 and 2018 collaborations with Bebe Rexha and Steve Aoki. Instead, his latest single “Kill My Mind” is a nineties rock-inspired anthem that sounds like an ode to Oasis. “I spent a long time treading water working out where I fit in the industry,“ he says. “I had to work out what it is I can actually get away with, and just how much I have to play for radio,” explaining that he did the aforementioned collaborations “because I felt like I had Tomlinson says that, unlike former bandmates Zayn Malik and Liam Payne, both of who have released music obviously influenced by hip-hop and R&B, “I can’t really relate to the urban-leaning sounds you hear on American radio”. Instead, he cites Catfish And The Bottlemen as an influence (“Lyrically, it’s conversational and honest”) and spends his time listening to Apple Music playlist “Kebab On The Night Bus”, which features bands such as The Arctic Monkeys, The Stone Roses, The Who and Idles . The result is a solo output that, finally, makes him feel “really excited and really proud. This is where I want to be.

So what does he want this new music to say about him, other than he likes guitar music? “I want people to look at me as a good and credible songwriter.” Overall, what I want from my lyrics is honesty,” he elaborates. “I want it to be real. I don’t want them to feel Hollywood or contrived.” Most of the album is “very autobiographical”, but he’s also taken care to keep it “exciting”, after listening to the earliest version of it and feeling that “A lot of it sounded quite sad.” Tomlinson, who lost his younger sister earlier this year, references the single before “Kill My Mind”, “Two Of Us”, which is about his late mother, Johannah Deakin, who passed away in 2016 after a battle with leukaemia. “That’s a very, very honest song, but it was also very emotionally heavy. I don’t want to be known as that guy.” What, the stereotypical mope with a guitar? “Yeah, exactly, I don’t want people feeling sorry for me. I want people to feel good when they listen to my music. That’s one of the amazing things we had with One Direction.”

Together with Liam Payne, Tomlinson did a lot of the writing for One Direction, which, on reflection, he thinks he was driven to do so that he might find his role in the band. “This isn’t a relatable statement,” he acknowledges, “but I imagine that anyone who’s been in a band or boyband will understand this feeling. There were definitely times in the band that I felt like I could do more or sing more, which is why I actively tried to get better as a writer, because I thought that would be my outlet.”

Now Tomlinson feels like he's found his writing groove, but is he worried the One Direction fans might not like his new music? “Yeah and that’s what creates a bit of a conundrum actually, because that’s very relevant for me,” he says. “I feel like, to a certain degree, we all owe them something. We are where we are because of them, it’s as simple as that.” As my colleagues here at GQ can attest – this 2013 interview with the band got us death threats – upsetting fervent One Direction fans is not an action to be taken lightly. He says that he’s “deliberately included songs on the album that feel a little bit transitional, so it won’t be too alienating towards the fans”. Lyrically, however, he feels like he still “writes what they want to hear, because it’s honest and it’s real and it’s me pouring my heart out”.

But with a ready-made audience come anxiety-inducing benchmarks. “Having the experience of being in 1D was incredible and it’s given me so much to work with, but it’s also hard in terms of expectation, because that was the pinnacle of what we were,” he says sombrely, referring back to the time spent mulling over how to balance making music that’s authentic with finding his place in the mainstream. “If I’d done this interview two years ago, I’d have said to you that if my album doesn’t get to No1 I’ll feel like I’ve failed. It embarrasses me saying that shit out loud now, but it took some real maturity to understand that One Direction wasn’t real life... Everything I’d been shaping my experiences around was something that wasn’t real life, even in the music industry.”

We laugh about those heady days, when he was 18-24, fresh out of Doncaster and making the kind of money 99.9 per cent of us can only ever dream about. “There was a solid time when I spent a long time looking at the most stupid, ridiculous things to spend money on,” he says when I ask him about his own crazy popstar purchases, having read that Liam Payne once bought the Ford Anglia from Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets. “I’ve got a long list of random movie props that starts with the great opener of the leg braces that Tom Hanks wears in Forest Gump. Have I ever got them out? No. I looked at them when I bought them like, ‘Oh, this is amazing,’ but really, I’m not a showy person, I’m not going to have them on display in my house.” Also stored away (“I’ve got Hard Rock Cafe in one cupboard”) are the swords from Kill Bill.

Has he ever considered retiring out of the public eye? “I’ve thought about that loads of times. It’s only the fans, and the fact I have a point to prove to myself, that keep me getting up every day and getting on to do it,” he says. “When I’m 50, I’m going to go off and get my coaching badges and I’m going to manage some youth team and win the FA Youth Cup with them.” So with all the intense media scrutiny, the feeling that you owe millions of people around the world well, something, and a hugely successful stint as a musician already under his belt, what’s he’s still trying to prove with his solo career? “People and the press love to say, ‘Oh, A and B will do well, but the rest of the lads, they’re not going to do anything.’ So my point I’m trying to prove is that I’m still going to be here in ten years, I hope”.

i’ve said it once and i’ll say it again: ode to only the brave

this. song. i feel like it’s something h and l love to do to us, yk. kill us off with their final track.

there is so much going on in this song, yet all of it fits together so perfectly, within itself and the rest of the album. it’s like we’ve added the last shard of stone and can now finally take a step back and see the full mosaic. these lyrics are crafted so, so so well. it’s short, perfect, and the meaning contained in every syllable is undeniable. louis said it best: “what’s great is that it’s so short, yet gets its message across so clearly.” there’s a reason why we (or his queer fans, at least) are so drawn to this song. it’s a hug, a hand on your back to guide you or give you a push, a shoulder to cry on, a crook of a neck for you to lay your head, a smile on a bad day, a soft brush raking through your hair, a flower turning to the sun, a butterfly landing on your nose, the moonlight shimmering on the ocean,

he’s solo now - as a career, as someone who doesn’t follow the herd/tradition/instructions

+ famous queer celebrities with substance abuse issues, who died young, etc. - often the only queer ppl to be in history books were those who famously died at a young age (achilles), due to illness (oscar wilde, robert mapplethorpe, freddie mercury), in a strange or mysterious way, by c* s* (virginia woolf) - all fucking tragic. almost like the books are trying to warn us off to “choose that lifestyle”

but, “you” fell despite being told again and again it was doomed from the start

ironic: “they” kept warning louis off, saying the love would never last, but when he comes out and proves he made it, they’ll claim they knew all along that it would work out + media running with every pap story and the gp gobbling up every last syllable of it - and how they’d flip like a switch if it all came out, claiming they always knew the truth 

ironic 2.0: “when you know, you know” is something a lot of queer people come across when coming out to ppl: “oh, i knew.” oh, did you? did you really know something about me that i had to work hard to figure out? that i had to struggle with, fight for? you knew my identity while it was something i was still searching for? you knew it all along? ?? 

genuine: @ people who have his back, fans listening to what he’s been saying all these years: we know that you know that we know

All the lonely shadow dances from the cradle to the grave

all the ones in history who didn’t get their love story, or whose stories didn’t get perpetuated

shadow: hidden, ghosts and then we’re back at the burnt at the stake shit

dancing in the shadows: all those who need to find a place, hidden from scrutiny, to be able to be free to dance and celebrate who they are ～ tpwk - the current state for queer ppl in a lot of places is that they’re still strange, other, and need those separate places where they can feel good (and safe)

SYNTHESIS

alright deep breath

What struck me immediately, when starting these analyses of Walls, is how Kill My Mind contains these elements of christianity, of the devil, the hints at the story of the Garden of Eden, for the album to then come to a conclusion in Only the Brave, where the churches are burning (basically). My jaw dropped when I first realised that. It’s too perfect, too fitting, for it to be not deliberate. Of course, we know Louis didn’t write “much” on this song, but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t written for him, with his story in mind, and fit by Louis in the puzzle that is Walls. Religion doesn’t really play a role on the album at all, other than the hints of it on Two Of Us, where Louis seems to know he will see his mother again, but still isn’t entirely convinced if she can hear him or not. He’s spiritual in his own way, he knows his mother is with him and keeps an eye on him, but how far that goes in terms of an idea of heaven isn’t clear. And it also doesn’t seem to matter. 

This open and close with religious elements is telling us something, though. In KMM we’re in the Garden of Eden, Paradise, so fucking ready to fall into the traps of the devil whispering in our ear to just have a little taste. It’s pretty fucking clear that we do, as we’re “too far gone to pray”. Even the “prison of a past life” lyric there points me in that direction: we’ve left the confines of the garden, where life was seemingly perfect, but where we had no freedom and were basically cut off from the real world. The “sin” released us from that life of lies and exposed us to shame, doubts, hardships, but also the fullest, happiest version of love. Louis has found that paradise within himself, that comfort and trust in his own being. He worships only that. Throughout his life he has learned that there is no place for him in the stories told in the history books, the bible, the romance novels. He found no recognition in them, and if he did, it was in a tale of warning: do not follow these desires, for this is what will come of you. Luckily, he chose to bite that forbidden fruit instead of falling for the tall tales that said he would be no more than a dying star. 

In fact, it seems like he almost aligns himself with those stories: if this is who he was born to be, from the cradle to the grave, he will be a dying star. He will dance all alone in the shadows if it means he can be himself. He knows it’s worth it, even if he didn’t have anyone to dance with, because it means he’s himself, at least. Luckily for him, though, he does have someone to dance with. His darling fell for him in a way that made it seem like they didn’t even take any of the warnings in consideration. They just fell, whatever the consequences. And Louis caught them and pulled them into his dance. Like, shit, that kid is brave. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it, being bravely real? 

Louis found this paradise in himself, in his relationship, and can look back and say: “set fire to history.” It’s all lies. The stories on the page are nothing like the one I’m living. The stories that matter haven’t even been recorded, and if they had, they were censored, burnt. Dear listener, he sings, dance to your own song, follow your own path. Fall, bravely, even though you’ve been told it’s doomed. Hold on to the knowledge that you came into this life with only yourself as firm certainty, and that you’ll leave it that way too. The only option, really, is to write your own tale and commit, to your true self, without looking back.

Grammy Nominations and Live Shows OH MY!!

LOUIS’ BACK!!! And I don’t mean “oh he liked something on Instagram” or “oh he tweeted about a RHCP concert”, I mean he’s going to be doing a VEEPS LIVESHOW! And so we solve the mystery of the Spotify vids (they were a stage!): a few hours before the announcement, he tweeted, “Hope you’re all doing alright. Exciting stuff coming up!!”, and then left the masses to wonder what could possibly be happening and when. Three anxious hours later: “So excited to announce that I’m getting my band and crew back together to put on a special show for you all that will be streamed December 12 [!!!adkhfkadhfjj!!!] and will be available for 28 hours after. The show will support 5 important causes very close to my heart”. The causes Louis Tomlinson Live From London will support are FareShare (they redistribute food to communities in need), CrewNation (the LiveNation COVID crew fund), StageHand (similar to CrewNation, but UK based), Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, and paying Louis' own touring crew! The tickets go on sale TOMORROW. If you can't afford one, Luke Massie (founder and CEO of Vibe Tickets) is giving funds away on twitter to fans who want to watch the show! “I’ll do my best to help as many of you as I can see him and his amazing crew perform,” he said. Louis has said that there is no cap on the ticket sales, so I’m taking him at his word and hoping that Veeps is prepared for what's about to happen (they're REALLY not lol.)

And that’s not all!! The press release for the show promised “songs from… ‘Walls”...alongside a few surprises” (I - could it - new music????), as well as “an exclusive range of new merchandise” that comes out tomorrow! The merch proceeds will go to the charities listed above. And! The Telegraph published an interview! Louis promises AN UPCOMING NEW ALBUM (“I had basically penciled down a plan before corona took over our lives”). He says again that he wants to move into the KMM style rock sound, “I think there were some songs where I took slightly more risk and owned what I love, saying, this is who I want to be..there is a certain energy in [KMM], in its delivery, in its attitude, that I want to recreate. People are struggling at the moment so I want to create a raucous, exciting atmosphere in my live show, not a somber, thoughtful one.” He says that he wants this next album to be more optimistic, because that is who he is, but new songwriting is HARD during a pandemic: for him (like for all of us), his days have fallen into a routine, and so he has no ‘new experiences’ to draw from. And, once again, Louis brings up John Frusciante and how he “fucking wishes” he could chat with him. Louis - drop your RHCP stan account PLEASE! We also learned that fans were RIGHT in speculating that he’s been in LA recently (though likely not for the reason the Telegraph wants us to think). About his travels, Louis says, “[The spot he goes to] is remote and kind of weird, and I’m going to go there for three days and write. I don’t know why I’m so drawn to it... it’s got some very interesting (peculiar?) locals who live there...it feels like you’re going back in time when you’re there.” ANY COMMENT, @/visiteroda??? And, in a rare look ahead, Louis reveals that he wants to manage an all-women’s rock band playing instruments (hey, friend, you know where women could play instruments? YOUR OWN BAND, MY DUDE! Just a suggestion). He said that his process with Syco had become “challenging and frustrating” because the kinds of artists he wants to develop aren’t “ready-made” - he sees a lot of artists that were “rough and ready” but labels want to see “something that works straight away”. But with Syco dust in the wind he can get back to it: HELL YEAH! The band he’s currently got his eyes on is Fickle Friends (an indie Brighton all-female rock band); he says this is the kind of band he wants to manage, “because there’s no one in that space. And I know eventually if I don’t do it, someone else will!”. Guys, I say this a lot, but really, Louis is about to make some WAVES in that space and I can’t WAIT to see it play. But first the concert, please!

AND!!!!!! Harry has been NOMINATED FOR THREE FUCKING GRAMMYS!! GUYS, HE MADE IT! The categories he is up for are: Best Music Video (Adore You - the TASTE), Best Pop Solo Performance (Watermelon Sugar), and BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM! I know that we’re always like, Grammys mean nothing, and how can we feel otherwise 1D was never nominated, but this is a MILESTONE in his career, and I am so happy to see his work getting the recognition it deserves! There were no nominations for him in the general field this year (artist or record of the year) BUT just you WAIT. Everything that Harry does makes me think that he is gearing up for a very long and successful career and I am. Very Happy for him. And so is everyone else! Harry’s friends, family, colleagues, and labels have all been quick to congratulate him on his well deserved recognition. In other Harry news, we got some stills from an Austrailian movie called “Holding the Man” which bear remarkable similarities to the Golden music video. (Were Harry's Vans really in there as a tribute to the film or did that part just work out very well for him??) The movie and the song don’t have anything in common thematically except being gay, but it really looks like a visual homage to this film (or, my personal theory, a fix-it fic to give it a happy ending!). And! Harry was papped on the DWD set with Florence Pugh again today, in a suit and an opulent background - it’s hard to make out Harry’s face, but I think we can guess that it's beaming in pride, as it should be.

GQ Spain did a piece on Liam’s Hugo capsule, praising it for being “the utilitarian style” (“the star trend of 2020”). They’re very nice about it, and seem to be genuinely interested and like the color scheme of the clothes: “the monocolor look...is an irrefutable argument in men’s clothing”. They also praise the collection for being an example that “you don’t need to spend hours in front of a mirror to dress like the best dressed men on the planet”. All of these were meant to be compliments, I SWEAR! Niall was around on Twitter yesterday, reminiscing about the time when some fans asked Justin Beiber to take pictures of them with Niall, it's true Niall that IS hilarious and also good psychic timing: that's EXACTLY how relevant Justin Beiber should be (yes I AM bitter the Weeknd was ROBBED). He also congratulated Shawn Mendes for his documentary, “So proud of this boy. He’s smashed it and always so humble. Well done to everyone involved.X”. I have not seen this documentary but if there are any more “Camila Cabello orders bananas at sushi restaurants moments” PLEASE let me know!

Louis was on his best whore behavior, but who could blame him??? So whatever Luke said that made Louis laugh so much, I chose to believe he was trying to impress Mr. Bald Guy (who doesn't look that much impressed sadly 😔 keep trying Louis!)

it's okay to feel frustrated and to let out that frustration and the fact that some of you equal that to us attacking louis or being bad fans because we're bringing down the mood doesn't bode well with me...

if we were quiet and accepted things as handed, do you believe we will have 500M streams for WALLS? that defenceless would gotten us new fans? that KMM would have been talked about as much as it did a month ago?

i know we can't be negative always or that will become a permanent state of mind but while i'm positive we will love the festival and enjoy louis voice and louis stage presence and louis creative mindset if he gives us something new...

it's ok to want more for louis, to want him to be respected as an artists and treated with dignity by the press and the industry, and the first step of that is acknowledging that his team sucks at promoting him and that press should be talking about his achievements because he is well-known enough to get that. the bare minimum.

I like the idea of them working together to get something out of it. Sometimes, you know how it can be online, there’s these little cliques and rivalries between fan groups and it’s just nice to see them working together. It took the' 21 minutes to figure out the puzzle I put online... Louis Tomlinson breaks new creative ground with the release of “Kill My Mind.” The One Direction alum has explored a variety of sounds since launching his solo career. He kicked things off by linking up with Steve Aoki on their heartfelt floor-filler “Just Hold On.” After that came the sparse, emo-pop musings of his Bebe Rexha-assisted “Back To You.” The musical evolution continued on “Just Like You” and “Miss You.” Then the 27-year-old struck gold with his tender ballad “Two Of Us.” Out today (September 5), his latest switches it up again.

This time he channels a ’90s-inspired indie-pop sound. The end result feels like a natural progression from the pop/rock fusion of “Miss You.” And it works well for the “Drag Me Down” hitmaker. Over a production courtesy of Jamie Hartman, Louis finds himself dangerously enchanted by a love interest. “You’re a nightmare on the dance floor. And you hate me, and I want more,” he croons on the opening lines. He’s even more addicted on the chorus. “And you won’t let go of your hold on me. You kill my mind. Raise my body back to life. And I don’t know what I’ll do without you now.”

It’s nice to hear Louis taking some sonic risks instead of chasing a trend. Hopefully it pays off and nets the solo star his next big hit. Press play on “Kill My Mind” below and let us know what you think.
