More PJO series spoilers cause while this wasn’t my favorite episode I’m seeing certain complaints that I wanna share my opinions on.

I am a bit confused why people that think Grover’s character was made weaker in this episode.

Like if you think this please tell me why cause I’m really curious.

But here’s why I disagree.

The past few episodes have done a good job establishing a disconnect between Grover and Percy & Annabeth regarding nature and Pan.

From Percy and Annabeth arguing in front of Ferdinand’s statue.

To the arch scene with Annabeth calling the arch a dedication to Athena vs Grover calling it a testament to the destruction of nature.

To this episode where Grover really doesn’t care about the people on the street and is happy that the animals will be able to get to the wild safely unlike Percy being worried for the citizens.

Grover blatantly tells Augustus that he doesn’t feel like he can talk about this to Percy and Annabeth because he doesn’t think they’d understand.

Of course if he finds someone he knows that would understand and suddenly offers him a chance to find Pan, he’d take it.

Grover’s not stupid, he calls out that he won’t eat anything and freaks out when seeing that Augustus still forgets things despite that. And Annabeth and Percy still mostly forgot Grover for a bit too. They just had each other to keep focus on the main quest.

As Annabeth said, “It’s easier to forget what’s important when you’re alone.”

Grover was both alone physically in the scene but also thematically in the search for pan.

He forgot the main quest and his friends because talking about/ finding Pan became more important to him.

But Idk thanks for coming to my TED Talk or whatever.

I haven't seen Spider-Man Lotus, and I never will, but for those who HAVE...Was it worth it?

Do you finally have your perfect Spider-Man?

Do you have the version that nails EVERYTHING the MCU missed?

Because that's what the director promised. And from what I heard, it's just as pretentious as I expected.

Regardless of how you feel about the MCU Spider-Man or even certain renditions of the character, saying you could do BETTER is way too egotistical for my tastes.

Your idea of "better" doesn't match everyone else's. It CERTAINLY doesn't match mine. I don't care if you hate MCU Spider-Man. Jon Watts NEVER claimed he made the best version. Not even Sam Raimi nor Mark Webb did that. Fans might have, but for the directors, they showed passion towards the character in their own ways, illustrating what THEY love about the character. But they NEVER believed theirs was the best.

You know why? Because there is NO SUCH THING as the BEST Spider-Man. No, not even the one you're thinking of. All there is are versions that match your preferences and favorite ideas of the character that's been around for DECADES.

To claim your version is the best or that your version is better than others is nothing but you thinking your better than others. And if what I've heard about Spider-Man Lotus is true, something tells me THAT fan's idea of Spider-Man isn't all that perfect either.

Instead of arguing over what makes Spider-Man the best, how about we let people hold onto what THEY love about the character and leave it at that? Agreed?

the emmys this week really discouraged me as someone who hopes to work in tv one day…there are so many good shows out there and the tv academy watches like 4 of them. i know awards shows don’t matter etc but they have to matter to some extent or they wouldn’t give them out. like it’s total bullshit that euphoria is in the same bracket as stuff like succession or better call saul. while a very technically competent show with some undoubtedly great cinematography and performances, the writing is piss poor (sam levinson is my mortal enemy) and it is literally a teen drama. i don’t think anyone would disagree with that after seeing the shitshow that was s2. i haven’t heard anyone mention ozark, white lotus, or squid game for months, but somehow they were all still relevant enough to beat out the heavyweights like succession and better call saul which were all over twitter during their most recent/final runs and are still passionately discussed today. it’s so infuriating to think of how hard ppl work to make good tv and how little of it the ~academy~ actually watches, not to mention the extreme lack of appreciation for and recognization of anyone below the line (your crew members, your costume and wardrobe departments, your sound design, your editing, your cinematography etc etc) on any national stage. that all being said my dream is to win an emmy for outstanding writing in a drama series
